Don’t let other people judge whether you’re a “worthy” fan based on your preferences. And please please PLEASE don’t be the person dictating whether or not someone is a “real fan” because they like a popular song.

You joined Matt on the couch sitting across from him. He reached out to touch your thigh and you scooted away. Sarcastically you said, "This is a serious conversation sinner, stop trying to seduce me.

"How cruel! Can't even touch my sweet angel! All because I've never heard of the topbottoms." Matt put his hands back in his lap, turning to face you.

"It's the frontbottoms, Matthew." You sighed jokingly, "and it's the music I listened to in high school so it means a lot to me. Foundational to my personhood."

"That worries me that a band named after genitalia was vitally important to you at 16 years old. I'm thinking we gotta find you better music." Matt was visibly thinking, sorting through his own music taste to suggest to you.

"Well I don't listen to it much anymore, but twas so important to me! You know I listen to better stuff now." You stretched you legs out, pressing yoru feet into Matt's thighs, shoving him a bit.

"Oh yah. Like SOPHIE and Chappel Roan. That's nothing on my taste in music." He clowned you, hitting you where it'd hurt the most.

"Matt, you only listen to Debussy and Tchaikovsky!"

"Put some respect on Stravinsky! He's a genius."

"Anything you say handsome." You grabbed your phone from your pocket and began to queue up some noise music you knew Matt couldn't stand.

"Do not." He could sense it. The rapid tapping of your fingers on your phone giving it away. He reached to find your phone and take it from your hands.

You stood up to run away from Matt attempting to stop your jam session.

"Get over here!" Matt chased you into the kitchen.

"Never." You sprinted around him.
