I was playing Star Wars (Disney Infinity 3.0) Twilight of the Republic the other day and the Anidala crumb I got was much appreciated.

Anakin crosses paths with his beloved wife once again and immediately calls out to her by name but then quickly corrects himself because he’s with Ahsoka and OW (typical Anakin.) Padmé explains that she’s heading back to Naboo, because Palps gave her the “go ahead” to give a speech and statement calling for a ceasefire in Theed, and what’s sweet is how Anakin supports her in this endeavour and lets her know that if she needs help, he’s going be there for her. Padmé reaffirms this by finishing his sentence for him that she’ll definitely call him if she needs to.

We love a supportive and secure married couple 💫

I haven't played KOTOR, but only because I'm not much of a gamer — it always sounded like an interesting premise, though! Thanks for sharing that insight. I totally agree that the Jedi ideally need to be surrounded by more 'regular' people in their lives, because they need to understand them, empathise with them, LOVE them, in order to best serve the galaxy they claim to want to serve. I think this is the actual trajectory of Luke's journey (as hinted not only by the outcome of the story itself but also by the jubuliant ending of RotJ, in which the Ewoks are literally singing 'celebrate the love!' while Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, and co are all hugging each other), aka that Luke will (re)establish the Jedi as something more openly loving and down-to-earth (again, see the stark contrast between the nature-devoid Coruscant and the forests of Endor).

Also, the story of the Prequels is the story of the fall of a civilisation (the Republic), and imo, if the Jedi are supposed to be the spiritual and/or moral center of that civilisation, then the fact they have by that point come to forbid love and family — the most basic and foundational of all human connections (and the importance of which is illustrated by the consequences of severing Anakin from his mother, THE person in his life who taught him unconditional love) — then it is no wonder that such a 'civilisation' should ultimately fall. And it is likewise no wonder that the only way to re-establish said civilisation is to create new foundations based on the bonds of love and family.

THAT, in my understanding, is the real Skywalker saga.

on the attachment rule, I particularly hate the take that 'attachment clearly doesn't equal love, anakin was just stupid'!

it's 1) not accurate and 2) anakin's intelligent.

I just.
