Zelda headcanons/theories that I firmly believe with all my heart:

The Twilight Princess Temple of Time dungeon is actually the Light Temple inside the Sacred Realm. The ToT is the entrance to the SR, the dungeon is a tower too tall to fit inside the ToT as we know it looks from the outside, and the symbol of the Light Medallion is all over the place inside of it.

The Oocca and Zonai are connected somehow. Both are said to be closest to the gods, participated in Hyrule's founding, have close ties to the royal family, live in the sky, and made owl statues. Way too many similarities. What the connection is exactly, I'm not sure.

The Zuna from Four Swords Adventures were the Dark Interlopers that became the ancestors of the Twili. They have similar appearances (pale green skin, flat noses) and we know the Zuna dabbled in dark magic in the past because they created the trident of darkness from that game.

The Tower of the Gods in The Wind Waker is a Sheikah shrine. Both were made for the purpose of testing the hero, and the tower has similar constellation/circuitry patterns on the walls. The boss room is even lit up similarly with glowing blue.

After Skyward Sword but before Hyrule as a kingdom was founded, SS Zelda's descendants were religious leaders. TotK saying that Sonia was a priestess before marrying Rauru supports this.

The Twilight Princess sages at Arbiter's Grounds are OoT!Rauru's group of sages. Ganondorf didn't kill them in the child timeline so they didn't have to be replaced with the OoT sages. So the Sage of Light in the Arbiter's Ground cutscene is Rauru.

The Depths from TotK are where Demise came from. SS's prologue says he emerged from a fissure in the earth.

New one: The ancient robots in Skyward Sword are Zonai constructs. The TotK art book that just came out said that the Zonai have been mining since Hylia's era, which is also the era when the SS robots were active, and they were running mines as well. Also, this symbol on the doors of their facility is a rotated Zonai symbol as identified by BotW's art book.

Random Stuff I noticed in Twilight Princess (Wii), Hyrule Castle Edition

The designs on the doors feature a Triforce on top, but under them you can find an angular pattern that’s a lot closer to Twili stylistics. It’s lowkey giving "showing off their victory over the losers“, which would fit into the whole deal of the Interloper War.

In The Triforce wind puzzle in the left courtyard, two of the triangles are filled with grass, the ones standing for power and wisdom. (Since the Wii version is flipped, that’s the right Triforce here instead of left). Coincidentally, those are also the two Triforce wielders currently in the castle.

Unlike the rest of outside, the hidden graveyard only has very few bulbin structures, all in the front half, no monsters, and only their heads. The front half is also where all the broken or shifted graves and walls are, while the back half of the yard is perfectly intact and you’re greeted by lots of tiny skeletons in the middle. This suggests they clashed in the middle and were defeated by the Undead.

Based on the puzzle in the same area, it’s safe to assume Hyrule Castle utilizes magically induced rain as a defense mechanism.

Despite most of their stated lore being connected to the oocca, the owl statues are explicitly referred to as the "statues of time“ on the grave right next to the one that tells you about the cursed swordsman.

Hyrule castle‘s front door is a fake gate lmao, what are they compensating for. Probably just a design vs gameplay thing but it kinda adds to this somewhat egoistical grandness that this particular Hyrule has going on.

Iirc this and the temple of time are the only two dungeons where you get to shoot the classic "make stuff happen“ crystals, and also the floor buttons are the same in both dungeons, what with the light sage symbol on them, so there’s a neat connection

The left and right side of the castle are color coded! Left‘s got red carpets and wall decor while right got blue

The further you go up the castle, the more the music not only kicks in/becomes louder, but also gets more and more taken over by Ganon‘s theme

In the lower floors that’re still perfectly intact, you can find swords in ridges on the walls as decorations. Starting from floor 3 however, the castle becomes a lot more broken down, and the swords in the ridges are missing. The first room with this change is the one full of ghosts, leading to the thought that they were used by those soldiers as a means to defend themselves (to no avail).

The throne is surrounded by a bunch of tinier thrones (slabs? Idk what they are) with the sages symbols on each one

During the puppet Zelda fight, you can sometimes hear the beginnings of Zelda’s Lullaby sung in the background and melody before it gets drowned out by Ganon again

While Link can‘t interact with the rubble on the round, Beast Ganon can

The key you get from the graveyard is actually optional and lets you either skip the blue side of the castle…or rob Ganondorf‘s treasury empty :)

Have you ever played DnD or something similar to DnD? If so would you be willing to tell a few funny stories or interesting ones that happened during a session of it?

Sure! I've played a couple of toonkind oneshots (you make a cartoon character and plop them in a dnd setting. Very fun. Please look up toonkind dnd) I have lots of characters but here are the ones who have appeared in games

Copper (a tanuki based on chopper one piece)

We went to an ice cream world and Copper was having a hard time so Tanguay (guy he just met but somehow fatherly vibes) just decided to Carry copper and a tiny ping pong toon. (World in a Bottle)

Sam Sharps walked in to the Scarlett Owl Tavern to have a root beer but apparently they were having some sort of class that day? He sat in the back and watched chaos ensue (Life Lessons With Chloe)

I soon realized that The Scarlett Owl Tavern was more of a place for your toon self to hang out so I made myself a character Mia Muse and she has different outfits because she's an actress with her own set of characters she plays. She's been in 3 one shots so far :shapeshifter? I hardly know her, Mia and Mi up to mischief, and Sorry About the Skeleton.

This guy made his debut appearance recently in Summer Ghost walk

He's fun. I hope to play him more.

I've played a couple of ttrpgs with trash queen as dm. Two different zeda ones that unfortunately didn't get to finish. One I played a rito who was reminiscent of ralsei called Rasieli

Fresh out of the gate, this poor bird off on his journey to become a man was attacked by a helmroc king (unplanned, random encounter)

And while he can talk to birds as a rito, that did nothing to make the encounter less terrifying . He shook me down for food, ate my rations, and was ready to eat me when trash queen had mercy on his poor level 1 heart and sent I think a flock of loftwings?? To distract it and my little bird got away... barley.

The other Zelda game got farther and I was really sad to let that one go. This time I played an octopus Zora named Melanie (inky)

I think my favorite memory was her time as a chaperone at twili prom. She noticed some drug use (drugs that would turn people into demons, but the teens didn't know that) the teen who sold the drugs (bratty rich and popular type girl) called Melanie a nark. Being a 100+ Zora and a chaperone anyway, she did not. Care. It's not like she went to this school so there was nothing this brat could do to ruin Melanie's life. Then the brat called her "granny" and this mainly peaceful mage was about to fist fight a teenager.

We also got to do an Ace attorney trial about the murder of the gerudo queen by the twili queen. That was fun.

Last but not least I am in a more "proper" campaign with TQ currently where we are making a country! I play a Half-elf paladin named Paeony Willow and she is mainly a Barbie Girl in the best ways.

Hi I’m here to ask you for your thoughts on the zonai

Oh my god someone actually did.

So despite my attempts to run a half respectable blog I actually have deep and incurable zelda brain rot. I'm going to do my best to give an overview for anyone who doesn't have that. The Zonai are a tribe/race that either predated or were contemporary to the ancient Shiekah, either collaborating to create several shrine quests or having their architecture and ruins repurposed for such. They span to every corner of the map, but are most present in the Faron region, with the Shrine of Courage, The Labyrinths, Thundera plateau, and Typhlo ruins being the most obvious and stand out examples. Their architecture and style could most easily be explained as combination of Indian and Mesoamerican. (As pictured below with a concept piece of Sarjon bridge, which is very accurate for the in game model) They often use the motif of geometric swirling patterns, as well as Stylized Dragons, Boars, and Owls to represent Courage, Power, and Wisdom respectively.

The new trailers for tears of the kingdom shows A LOT of Zonai stuff, with the sky island architecture and and constructs more or less being confirmed as Zonai make. While I had personally considered the Zonai to be a very humanoid tribe like the Shiekah or Gerudo, it's entirely possible that they're a completely different race entirely. I fully believe that this screenshot here is an example of a Zonai.

I don't have much evidence beyond the fact that I think Nintendo is too much of a coward to make Hylia a furry. The Zonai never depict themselves in any of their surviving in game artifacts so it's really impossible to say. But I bet they will be something similar to the Twili as a separate race and dragon people would make a lot of sense considering their veneration of dragons.

That and the bronze hair pieces look very similar to the other Zonai constructs and the swirl motifs they often use, and they are completely lacking any iconography that would link them back to Hylia (ie purple, gold, and wings) with the closed eye on the forehead and tears under the eyes being way closer to Shiekah than hylian if anything. The green stone (looks like malachite or jade imo) and bronze/brass really fit the color scheme of the Zonai, and the general dragon look meshes really well with their established aesthetics. It's shabby evidence at best, but it's more solid than evidence for them being Hylia. Anyway this is an excellent video that will explain these bitches way easier than I possibly could. Although this is all way before we had anything beyond the smallest crumbs for Tears of the Kingdom, so it's rather outdated now, considering we have a much larger wealth of information for the Zonai just from the trailers than we had in the entire game of BOTW.

Trying to throw together some TotK thoughts/theories now...

It’s pretty apparent that they saw people making rolling minecarts in BotW and went “hm, maybe we should make an actual system for that”. What I’m wondering is how it’ll tie into the larger game - I could see crafting mechanics and new skills being tied to Purah and Robbie, but I’m not convinced of that based on thoughts I’ll go into in a bit...

The lights around the Sheikah towers suggests to me that a large portion of the game will probably be dark. What I’m debating with myself is whether this means that there’ll be a stretch of time where we’ve effectively lost inner Hyrule to Ganondorf, whether it be in the past or present.

The wrench in that thought is that the geoglyphs are present both when it’s bright and when it’s dark, so my theory that the geoglyphs would feature in the “past” sections of the game is pretty much shot.

I still very much believe that we’ll be seeing sections of the Ancient Hero/First Calamity. The game will delve into the origins of the kingdom’s war against Ganondorf, and I suspect a pact/alliance between the Hylians and Zonai (some are insisting Twili, but I’m standing firm on Team Zonai - that’s not to say, however, that the Zonai aren’t maybe a Twili predecessor. See Also: Typhlo Ruins).

Some of the skylands (for a bit of side info, I’ve been pronouncing this not as “sky-lands” with an emphasized “and”, but like “islands” with an “-ind” 🤣) mimic the shape of the Mysterious Hand’s stone bands/jewelry. I find that Mildly Interesting but have no other assumption to make based on that.

I believe a lot of the tech is Zonai rather than Sheikah. Sheikah tech themes are metal, blue, orange - this is a lot of stone and green. (Which admittedly does again tell me ‘Twili ancestor’...)

The cutscene with the people grasping hands is 100% Zelda (I’d bet actual cash that it’s Ancient Zelda) and Mystery Hand, the same that was binding Ganondorf in the first trailer. I believe this is the same scene depicted in the Ancient Mural from Teaser #2:

Which makes Mystery Hand the figure we’re never shown. I am not convinced that Mystery Hand is the Rabbit-Eared Deity:

Since they’re very careful to never show who Zelda is grasping hands with, but they show the Deity in full.

Here’s a thought...what if Mystery Hand is actually the Ancient Hero, and that’s why it’s being kept a Big Damn Secret by Nintendo? It’d be a twist for the Ancient Hero to be the final seal on Ganondorf’s body when sealing is typically the job of the Sages/Zelda, but it would give some explanation for why it was able to work with Link so easily, kind of like the Hero’s Shade in TP.

I’ve had a few theories cooking around this based on Zonai ruins - we see statues of the owl, the dragon, and the boar. This suggests to me that the Zonai in some way had a Triforce legend (owl - wisdom (and the Deity does somewhat resemble a horned owl), dragon - courage (and there are dragon gods in BotW), boar - power. The boar statues are few in number, and those that exist are destroyed. I’ve said before that this tells me that the boar somehow lost favor with the Zonai religion - a betrayal, maybe.

Also worth debating is whether the murals are depicting past events, or a prophecy. Both are valid in the Zeldaverse. Personally I’m leaning towards a “history repeats itself” interpretation, since that’s a major theme in Zelda lore.

As for where the islands have been all this time...I don’t know. Originally I’d thought that maybe they were in the past segments, but I doubt that now. I don’t think we have enough information to go off of.

Although Link seems to be getting airdrops from them lmao.

So that suggests that someone is up there.

my characters! this got pretty dang long so i put it under a read more lol

Raide! Genderfluid, any pronouns

Raide is a Twili, which is a species from twilight princess, but ive changed em up a bit to be more interesting in my opinion.

Raide is 17, and is a passionate artist with a lot of skills. she can sew, she can draw, he can paint, he can play violin and cello and flute, they can write, they can just do a lot.

they were born to two royal guards, and he loves his mothers deeply, even if she isnt following in their footsteps. she is currently dating her boyfriend, Calen, and loves him very very dearly.

Calen! Trans Man, He/Him.

Calen, despite sharing almost every physical trait of one, is not a twili. he is actually a living doll, built by his mother and father after they were unable to have kids. his father spent years crafting him out of strong wood, before casting a spell to give him life. he is, for all intents and purposes, a regular twili, the only difference being the type of ears he has, and the fact that he has to take special elixirs to keep himself functioning.

Calen is also 17, and is a travelling merchant. he gathers supplies and travels the half-light kingdoms in order to sell his goods, which range from potions, to dyes, to fabrics and tools. he always comes back home though, in favor of restocking his wares and seeing his family.

The Twins, Kalt and Vang! Kalt, Nonbinary, He/They. Vang, Trans Woman, She/Her.

The twins are 16, and are the prince and princess of one of the Half-Light kingdoms. which one? uhhh get back to me on that lmao. these two arent quite as fleshed out as the other two because the other two were recycled OC's that i already loved, so they tend to get more attention from me...

Kalt doesnt really have anything special going on. hes just a little guy who cares about his friends.

Vang however, was born with the ability to see small glimpses of the past or present. she doesnt control them, and she doesnt really like them either, but theres nothing she can do about it. she was born a few minutes before Kalt and she will absolutely make fun of him for it.

Both of them are friends with Calen and Raide.

Hobic. Trans Man, He/Him.

this is hobic. hes entirely based on a stupid joke my family makes. instead of saying homophobic we sometimes say Home Of Hobic, which led to the joke that Hobic is a gay wizard with a Homophobic Home. The home of hobic is homophobic. get it. yeah. theres not much to him yet but he exists. he's probably in his mid 20's.

Trance! gender? whos that? any pronouns

trance is just. a lynx without eyes. why? i thought it would be cool. i was correct btw. Trance is basically just a mascot type deal at this point but you can still ask about it.

Zeverin! He/Him, usually..

this is zeverin, or zev for short. hes a changeling rouge from my first dnd campaign. he's a little stupid but he has the spirit. the owl mask on his head is a special item he got on his journey, specifically because he was the only character without dark vision, which the goggles help with. he can and will attempt to persuade and or seduce his way out of situations if he can, just because he thinks its funny. he also can and will stab people.

he tried to steal soap from a store once. just for fun. he got caught though, and then kicked out, and then almost killed for it before his teammate used her incredible charm to get the shopowner to calm the fuck down.

this drawing shows him as he prefers to look, but he can change his appearance whenever. his "true" form is completely void of color, a blank slate, as it is for all changelings.

Falling Stars on Cloudy Nights, or Stars for short (FSoCN) any pronouns work!

Stars is an iterator OC from the game rainworld. again, not really fleshed out much, but shes an iterator with an interest in art and the sky. she is the sibling iterator to my actual siblings iterator oc, but thats not my job to talk about lol. Stars is just kind of here, but again, feel free to ask about him, maybe itll help give him some personality!

Glowstick!! He/Him

Glowstick is a.. scavenger.. slugcat... thing.. from rainworld! He was made up when i messed with spearmasters colors and the dress my slugcat mod and accidentally gave spearmaster Bright Green spears. His title is The Chemist, based on the fact that he has weird chemicals in his tail that allow him to make glowing spears whenever.

he has good relationships with the scavengers and his iterator, stars. he is a little bloodthirsty, and will sometimes go out for cycles at a time just to go hunt lizards or vultures, but he always comes home.

Squid Jr! he/him

this is Squid Jr. he was made because i messed around with the beastmaster mod and ended up making a monk slugpup, which we promptly named "squad jr" after his family, The Squad, who is really just a hoard of playable Monk slugcats that i summon when me and my sibling feel like messing around and or i die in the game and want to be funny by helping using The Squad.

Squid Jr was renamed after one of my mutuals was saddened by the fact he was not, in fact, named Squid Jr.

Squid Jr is my son boy boy son and i love him so so much. look at his little face-
