''Hey! Don't touch me, I have a girlfriend.'' Jeongguk drunkenly protested, prying the unwanted arms from his body. ''Stop, please!''

''Are you serious right now?''

''Stop! That's not cool, I have a girlfriend!'' He tried moving away from the displeasing touches, the woman in front of him not seeming to get the hint that he wasn't that kind of a guy.

Jeongguk's vision must have experienced some huge errors after those countless refills of his beer, because he had no reason to shy away from the person who found him lying on his couch.

Jieun had made her way to Jeongguk's apartment after spending almost an entire day at the company. The endless recording and practicing had taken almost all the energy from her body, the only small amount that was left was reserved for the man who had been bugging her for the last hours to come back home.

Ever since Jin had been enlisted into the military, her boyfriend hadn't been too keen on really doing anything that consisted of going outside. She was happy that he was resting so well, but the man hadn't seen sunlight for almost a week now. His days were spent watching Netflix, ordering food and taking care of Bam.

So as she walked into his apartment, she expected to find the same image that she had seen all week; Jeongguk eating in front of the tv with Bam. However this day, it was quite a different sight.

Bam greeted her at the door, nothing out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary, was the lack of noise from her boyfriend. She could hear something playing on the tv, but nothing from Jeongguk's side.

Upon walking into the living room, she was met with a disoriented man mumbling inaudible things to himself, while he laid face down on the couch. The empty soju bottles and half-full beer glass indicated the singer had had a fun time on his own.

Jieun tried getting him up and into his bed, but that's when the man started opposing and tried pushing her arms away. He didn't recognize her.

She might as well have fun with this.

''A girlfriend, huh? Tell me about her.''

Jeongguk let out an unexpected snort. ''Why do you want to know about her?'' Before Jieun could even reply, he continued. ''She's- she's so fine.'' He smirked to himself.

''I don't know how to begin, she's just- ugh, so perfect. She has everything you could want in a person, you know? When I first saw her, we were like 18, I was like damn,'' that last thing made both of them laugh, a sudden American accent coming out, ''she smiled at me, well at us, my hyungs were there too. I don't know what she thought of me, to be honest. I thought she was beautiful, she was hot- she was so hot. She- she had this leather jacket on, her hair was down and she still had to get her make-up done. I watched her while she sat in the stylist's chair, I thought she looked like the most beautiful thing in the world.''

''I love her so much, I should tell her more that I do. That's why you can't touch me or kiss me, you know? I'm not a cheater, I don't do that. It would hurt her a lot and I don't want to do that. I would never do anything to hurt her, that- that would kill me.''

''Don't tell her I said this, but- I, uh, I think I'm gonna marry her someday. Well, I don't think, I know I'm gonna marry her. I would be an idiot not to.''

Jieun watched him in awe, speechless at the confession he just gave. She knew that Jeongguk loved her, that was an obvious given. However, she didn't know how much he actually loved her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

His declaration of love must have sobered him up as he finally noticed her return. ''Ji- Jieunie? You're back, oh, I missed you so much.'' His arms quickly found their way around her and he left kisses all over her face.

''Yeah, you look like you had fun over here.'' She dramatically glanced at all the empty bottles on their coffee table.

He followed her eyes, grinning shamelessly. ''We did, didn't we Bam?'' The boy joined them on the couch upon hearing his name, safely putting himself in-between Jeongguk and Jieun.

''I'm gonna get you some water and aspirin, and afterwards you can clean all your mess up.'' She wanted to get up and head to the kitchen, but her boyfriend stopped her. ''No~,'' he whined, ''don't go, you just got here.''

Jieun got up anyway, pressing a short and sweet kiss against his lips. ''You know, the first time I ever saw you, I thought you looked really good in those jeans you were wearing.''

''Hell yeah, I did.''

[BREAKING NEWS] TWICE's JADE is officially part of JYPE's production team.

On this Friday, February 24th, JYP Entertainment released an oficial note announcing that TWICE's Jade is now not only their idol, but also part of their production team.

Jade has produced over 50 songs for the company so far under her pseudonyms "BaeJae" and "BJ", including kpop hits like "What is Love?" (TWICE), "God's Menu" (STRAY KIDS), "Wannabe" (ITZY), and more, including her fellow member's solo, POP! (Nayeon).

On the note, JYPE stated that:

"[...] Although Jade has been involved in the production process since her trainee days, being an essential part of our company, as an all-rounder artist and amazing self-made producer. Is our honour to announce that Bae Jaidee is now officially one of our producers. We hope we keep to work together and making more hits."

On the same note, JYPE announced that Jade's first work as one of their producers is the general production of TWICE's sub-unit, "MiSaMo", set to debut on July 26th, 2023.

We wish Jade a lot of love and happiness for this new achievement!

Emperor Min clapped his hands twice and Seokjin led the Princess to her seat right next to him on the prince’s side of the throne room. Every member of council on the left side was young, all sons and grandsons of the advisor on the right side of the room. Prince Yoongi’s royal council was a sea of brilliant and eager minds. Once his time came, the young Prince would rule with great power at his disposal. 

“Tonight, we join together to welcome our dearest friends from the Escistan nation! The King and Queen have entrusted us with the well being of their greatest treasure, the Princess Keena. During her stay, the Princess will learn the ways of our people and share her own knowledge with us as well. It is a time of learning. A time for the old to make way for the new.” Emperor Min spoke clearly as he glanced around the room.

The warriors who guarded the Princess were dressed in black and navy-blue outfits that mirrored the ocean at night. They sat mixed with the Princess’ personal servants from both her home and the palace. Aga and Minho sat behind the Princess and Seokjin while Mingi sat with Izaso a few tables down.

“Princess Keena, it is my greatest honor and pleasure to welcome you to the Min Empire. Please treat this palace like your home and savor this time abroad.” Emperor Min raised his goblet high in the air and the Princess copied his motion. “You will always have a home here within these walls. To the ancient dragons who came before and watch over us, I swear it.”

Emperor Min’s eyes flashed a molten brown as he drank deeply from his cup and Princess Keena chirped loudly in answer to the oath. Everyone raised their cups and when the Empress and the Prince’s eyes flashed gold the whole room drank in silence before the emperor clapped his hands again and music started to play. Princess Keena set her cup down untouched. She smelled the alcohol, and it made her stomach churn. Seokjin noticed the displeasure on her face and beckoned a servant over to do away with the drink.

“Would you prefer tea, Princess Kenna?” Seokjin offered and the Princess nodded her head. “May I suggest the honey mint tea? It will refresh your palate with each course of the meal tonight.” 

“That sounds wonderful, my Lord. Thank you.” 

“Please, call me Seokjin. Now, bring the Princess some honey mint tea. Two scoops less than I drink.” Seokjin ordered lightly and the servant quickly scrambled off. “You are in for quite a treat tonight, Princess Keena.”

“I would expect nothing less from the Min Empire. I have heard tales of the extravagant parties only some are invited to have seen.”

At the Princess’s words a group of eight women and two men entered the room and stood in the center for all to see. They were dressed in yellow robes with large white flowers on them that were tied at the waist by a large pink sash. The outfits looked different from the hanbok that most of the guests were wearing. Two of the women held instruments in their hands that the Princess had never seen before while the others held ribbons. Princess Keena watched with large eyes as the group started to play music and dance.

The ribbons swirled and swayed in the air; a picture painted without words that disappeared within moments. Their movements were stretched out and flashy, colors mixed and pulled apart as they created something new. Again, and again these dancers jumped and sashayed across the floor. The Princess was enraptured by their flawless movements like spirit fish born out of water.

“What are they wearing?” Princess Keena had leaned over and asked Seokjin about the different robes and Seokjin’s eyes crinkled in the corners as he laughed, high and squeaky.

“They are called Yukata’s.”

Aga watched for the cue that the dancers were finished before he glanced at the door across the room. A flash of green caught his eyes, and he smirked behind his cup as he downed the soju easily. The dancers left the center of the room and before the silence could be missed a fast-paced cadence was banged out on the drums. Princess Keena’s brows furrowed at the familiar beat, and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep the squawk in her throat from sharing her excitement. Four women and two men, dressed in the traditional Escistan garb filled the center of the room, light on their feet. They wore large, feathered headdresses in shades of green and blue while their faces were covered in white tribal paint that mirror the Impundulu’s wings. Their twists and locs were down around their shoulders freely and the drumbeat picked up, the candence faster and Aga started the chant, loud and proud as the dancers started to move on the floor. 

Their outfits were bright and colorful, large golden gorgets hugged their throats, decorated with white beads and jade gems. White and yellow silk cloth wrapped around the women’s chest with small black beads stitched along the hems. A set of seven waist beads with a thick leather belt sat on their waists. Black lapas with green and yellow patchwork wrapped around their hips and strands of multicolored beads and feathers from the yellowjacket-magpie hung from the belt. The beads and feathers splayed in the air as they jumped from side to side, their feet stomped to the beat and hands clapped, raised high in the air. It was a celebration of a new life, a new start for the Escistan Kingdom as they joined forces with the Min Empire. It brought tears to the Princess’s eyes, and she joined in with Aga’s chant. 

As the Princess’s voice rang out her people all joined in, and the royal family all smiled. It was a sight that shocked many in the room. The prince almost never smiled because it made him look like that smiling child that used to be attached to his mother’s skirts. It was a wonderful sight and filled the room with a new hope. Hope for the next generation that was to take over the Empire. The dance came to its end and the dancers all bowed before the Princess with their arms across their chests. Princess Keena grinned, and when she spoke her praise no one could ignore the loud whistle that ended each word. The Princess was pleased, her dark eyes now a striking silver that made Seokjin do a double take.

to say that jina was excited to flaunt her new dress would be a terrible understatement.

she had bought the khaki-colored article of clothing online without a second thought, believing that it was the cutest dress she had ever seen. and when it finally arrived, she wanted to go out wearing it as soon as possible. so when sana asked her to accompany her out to a mall, the korean-japanese girl didn't need to think twice to answer.

“jiji! that dress is so cute!” sana complimented her when the two met up in front of the maknae dorm. jina gave a little twirl, the dress that hung well above her knees twirling with her. ready to leave, the two girls looped their arms together as they headed towards the elevator.

“ooh! let's go in there!” sana pointed to a perfume store at the end of the floor. although the bucket hat that the older woman was wearing did a great job at covering her face and concealing her identity, jina could still make out the way her unnie's eyes shone with excitement. sana's fascination towards scents in turn fascinated jina, as the latter always enjoyed seeing the former get all excited to find and try out new scents. with a wide, fond smile, jina let sana grab her hand and pull her towards the aforementioned store up ahead.

jina followed sana around the store, every now and then taking a whiff of the different perfumes that caught sana's interest to give her opinion on the scent. the store was practically empty, and the staff, even though they had recognized the two idols, were very respectful and gave them their space to browse, so both sana and jina lowered their guards as they shopped.

“aren't you from twice?”

the sudden appearance of a man in front of the two made the both of them jump slightly in surprise, looking up at the stranger wide-eyed. he gasped when he got a better look at their faces, the look of excitement on his face unmistakable. “you are! you're jina and sana!”

although still taken aback, the two smiled and nodded politely. they assumed him to be a fan, and they didn't want to be unnecessarily rude to one of their beloved onces. “can i take a selca with you guys?” he asked, already taking his phone out without waiting for an answer from either of the girls. they were starting to think that the guy was taking advantage of their politeness, and jina wasn't gonna let that happen.

“i'm sorry, but we'd rather not,” she told the man while still smiling, though now nowhere near as genuinely as before, stepping in between him and sana. “we'd really appreciate it if you would let us shop in peace.”

the man scoffed in response and jina was caught off guard by his blatant rudeness. “oh come on, it's just one picture. wouldn't hurt anyone, right?” he took a step closer to jina and that added to his refusal immediately made her feel uncomfortable, as she took a step back into sana to get away from him. as this happened, sana caught sight of the man's phone, the device catching her attention due to how weirdly he was holding it, she noticed. that was when she saw that the camera app was opened and it was currently recording a video. the man took another step forward and as he did, his hand holding his phone moved closer to the hem of jina's dress. upon realizing this, sana could've swore she started seeing the world in red.

despite being younger, jina had always been the protective one between her and sana. she'd do anything to protect her unnie, be it from bugs or from haters, doing so without much thought. but sometimes, even the protector needed protecting, and sana was more than willing to and capable of defending the younger girl.

the older protectively pulled the younger behind her and faced the man invading their personal space, her usual bright and cheerful eyes replaced by a sharp glare as she shoved his phone back towards him. “please leave before we call for security,” she threatened, but she didn't need to go alerting anyone for help because the store's staff themselves had caught on to the tension between the idols and the disrespectful “fan”, and were heading towards the entrance of the store where a security guard stood at the ready. noticing this, the man's facial expression turned into one of frustration before he ultimately turned around and quickly left the store. with him finally gone, sana let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.

“are you alright, shatang?” jina asked with evident concern in her voice, stepping out from behind sana to face her with furrowed eyebrows. “i should be asking you that, jiji,” sana said with a slight whine in her voice, subconsciously pouting as she looked at jina. “he was being so creepy and that clearly made you uncomfortable. and his phone, he was recording...that was just unacceptable.” jina couldn't help the smile that pulled at the corners of her lips as she stepped forward and hugged sana. “thank you,” she murmured. “for protecting me.”

“of course,” sana sighed into jina's shoulder. “i'm never gonna let anyone harm you in any way.”

needless to say, sana became even more attentive towards jina throughout the rest of their time at the mall, holding her hand and keeping her close at all times.

Jae was living his best life.

He would be the first to admit that there had been times throughout his years with Twice that he hadn’t loved their concepts. It wasn’t that he had a problem with some of the more feminine or cute elements, it just wasn’t always his style. But this concept, regardless of the choreography, was exactly what he’d always wanted.

Lounging back in a beach chair, sipping on a fake cocktail with his shirt unbuttoned, was exactly where he’d imagined his career ending up.

“And…cut!” The director called. “That looked great. You can go take a break and then we’ll start setting up for the group dance.”

“Roger that.” Jaewoo took a sip of the cocktail as he stood, wincing when it turned out to just be coloured water. “That was disappointing.”

He left his shirt unbuttoned as he stepped off of the set and into the warehouse-type place they were filming in. This was their second day of filming, and though he’d spent all of yesterday watching the girls film their solo shots, he had encouraged them to rest rather than watch him film this early in the morning. Chae had popped by to say hi, but there was apparently breakfast in the dressing room and so he’d spent most of the morning filming by himself.

The dressing room was blocked off by just a curtain, and he could hear raised voices from inside as he approached. Shoving the curtain aside, he stepped in, the voices falling silent.

“What’s going on?” He asked casually.

Nayeon just crossed her arms and looked away.

Jae furrowed his brow, looking around the room. None of the girls seemed willing to meet his eye. Even Chaeyoung was staring at her phone without anything on the screen. Tzuyu was picking at her freshly manicured nails.

“Okay,” Jae dropped onto the couch next to her, swinging his arm around her shoulders. “Who do I need to beat up?”

“What?” Tzuyu looked up in surprise.

“You guys all look super depressed, so tell me who we’re mad at and I’ll go teach them a lesson.” He winked. “I’m willing to risk messing up this pretty face for all of you.”

“It’s nothing.” Jihyo said quickly, plopping into her chair.

Jae looked at all of their faces. They were definitely hiding something. “Come on. Own up or I’ll have to start harassing random staff members. Did someone say something to you guys? Was someone creepy? I told them we needed an actual door on the dressing room. That director is going to – “

He was halfway out of his seat when Jeongyeon finally spoke up.

“We’re fine, Jae, chill. No one said anything to us.”

“Good.” He flopped back down. “Now tell me why you’re all being so mopey.”

Jihyo sighed. “Have you been on Naver today?”

“Naver?” He shook his head. “No way. I rolled out of bed and right onto set. Why?”

“Here.” Dahyun held out her phone, the screen open to the Naver home page.

He leaned down to take the phone, looking over the screen. Trending number two on Naver was his name, and when he clicked on it, it took him to an article linked to a video.

“Fifteen minutes of Jaewoo from Twice being an embarrassment to men everywhere.” He read aloud. “Huh, this has like one hundred thousand views.”

“We already called the company. They’re going to see about getting it taken down.” Nayeon said quickly.

“Kay.” Jaewoo tossed Dahyun’s phone back to her and then leaned back to rest his head on the couch. “Urgh, wake me up when there’s more food.”

“That’s it?” Sana demanded. “Why aren’t you more upset?”

He popped one eye open. “Should I be upset?”

“Well, yeah…” Mina tilted her head. “There’s people saying really mean things about you online.”

He shrugged. “It doesn’t really bother me. I don’t think I’m an embarrassment to all men, so why should I care if they post a video of me dancing to our choreography? It’s free promo.”

“It’s mean.” Tzuyu said.

“Maybe. But it doesn’t bother me.” He patted her shoulder. “And it shouldn’t bother you guys, because I’m used to it.”

“What do you mean you’re used to it?” Jeongyeon asked.

Jaewoo sighed, trying to think of the right words. “I guess…I expected this sort of thing when I ended up in a group full of girls that debuted with a cute concept. It’s never bothered me. I know what I’m capable of, and I love the music we put out. Why should I care if my dancing doesn’t meet someone else’s expectation of what I should be?”

“That was…” Nayeon frowned. “Surprisingly mature of you.”

“I mean,” he continued. “I know I’m hot, so I guess everyone else is just jealous.”

“There he is.” Nayeon rolled her eyes.

“I’d hate to disappoint you.” He winked. “Besides, we all know I can shake my ass better than all of you combined.”

“Rude, and also not true.” Momo smacked his ankle. “I was all ready to defend you earlier and now you’re just being an idiot.”

Jae just shrugged, moving to rest his head on Tzuyu’s shoulder. “You still love me, right Tzu?”

“Sometimes.” She patted his cheek.

“I’ll take it.” He grinned. “Seriously though, guys, don’t sweat the article. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest.”

“We believe you.” Nayeon nodded at him. “But you have to promise to let us know if it ever does bother you. We have your back, you know. You don’t have to be the strong, stoic one all the time.”

“Strong and stoic.” He mused. “Makes me sound so mysterious.”

“Jae!” Jihyo chided.

“Fine, fine.” He shook his head. “I promise to tell you. Now, can someone find me something to eat? Because I skipped breakfast.”

“I brought an extra protein bar for you.” Tzuyu whispered.

“That’s why you’re my favourite.”

''Jungkook, don't call her.'' Namjoon protested as the youngest pulled out his phone from his pocket to call up his girlfriend. ''Yeah, she probably has better things to do.'' Yoongi added, although he was amused by the entire debate. 

Jungkook shook his head as he pulled up her contact and dialled her number. ''No, I'm gonna call her and you're going to see that I'm right.'' To say he was a stubborn man, might be an understatement. 

''Hello?'' 

His agitated voice immediately replaced with a soft one as Jieun picked up. ''Yeobo, have you heard about the perilla leaf debate?'' He asked her, looking confidently at his members. 

''Yeah, Chaengie said something about it, I think. Isn't it whether it's okay for your partner to help your friend peel off their perilla leaf?'' Chaeyoung had mentioned this thing once to her during practice. 

Upon her answer, Jungkook put her on speaker phone so his members could listen to the conversation. ''Yes, that's it! What do you think about it? Do you think it's okay for your partner to help or not?'' He looked at his members with full self-assurance, he was confident Jieun would agree with him that it was not okay for your partner to help. 

''I don't care to be honest, it's a stupid leaf.'' 

The confident grin on Jungkook's face was wiped off within seconds of hearing her words. Meanwhile, the rest of the Bangtan group were laughing their asses off, except Taehyung because he shared the same opinion as Jungkook. ''Yeobo!'' 

''Jungkook, did you put me on speaker?'' She could barely hear her boyfriend as the laughter that was happening around him was getting too loud. 

He nodded, but realised he couldn't see her. ''Yes! Are you actually serious? So if I helped your friend with separating the leaves, you would just be fine with it?'' Jungkook couldn't believe what he was hearing. 

''Yes, why would that be such a big deal? It's a nice gesture.'' Jieun didn't see the fuss about the whole debate, she wouldn't mind Jungkook helping one of her friends out. 

''Why is that such a big deal? Come on! That's a marriage waiting to happen!'' His frustrations were of huge amusement to the men around him, Hobi laying on the floor holding his stomach. 

Jieun rolled her eyes when he mentioned the marriage. ''So what you're saying is that when we're out with one of your friends, Taehyung-oppa for example, I wouldn't be allowed to help him because you think that is cheating?'' She hoped her words would make him realise how truly stupid he sounded in her mind right now. 

''Is this your way of telling me you want to marry Tae?'' Jungkook was flabbergasted and his members had enough. Jin pulled the phone from Jungkook's hands. ''Jieun-ah, please don't listen to him, he's being a child again.'' 

''We're sorry for bothering you.'' Namjoon told her, knowing how the Twice girls always have packed schedules. ''It's alright, I was just waiting to record some songs.'' She was relieved no one was around in the waiting room, because her confused face must have looked ridiculous to the outside world. 

''I'm gonna hang up now, we have to continue filming.'' Jungkook's voice was heard again through the phone. ''Okay, I'll talk to you later, Guk.'' She sighed, she already knew he wasn't going to let this go for a long time. 

Seeing his defeated expression, Jimin decided to add some fuel to the fire. ''Bye Jieunie, if you ever want to go and eat perilla leaves with someone, I'm always availab-'' She didn't hear the rest of Jimin's sentence as the line was cut off, by who she assumed was Jungkook. 

''Hyung, don't talk to my girlfriend like that.'' Jungkook told Jimin, putting his phone away and walking back to his seat. ''I was just teasing, Jungkookie, your face was priceless.'' Jimin couldn't help but keep laughing at the entire situation. 

''Guys, let's continue filming, we're holding the staff up.'' Namjoon said, although he had a hard time to not start laughing at Jungkook's behaviour. Taehyung couldn't help but throw one last little dig. 

''Jungkook, what kind of ring do you think Jieun likes?''

Jade looked at the mirror again, cleaning the tears that insisted on falling. At this point, after almost seven years as a kpop idol, she should be used to all of this, all this hate. But she didn't. 

Actually, Jade never really understood why people hated her. Was it the fact that she was good? Was she even that good after all? Jade didn't know. But she knew words have meaning and, sometimes, they hurt. 

If it was some years ago, she'd run and buy as many soju bottles as she could, but now things were just different. Still, this voice inside her head always made sure to remind her of all her weaknesses, all the times she failed, and made her think about all the chances she'd have to fail. 

Jade looked at her wristwatch. She was inside that bathroom longer than she expected. The girls would soon start missing her in the practice. 

Taking one more deep breath, she washed her face, hoping the cold water would reduce the swelling of crying for twenty minutes straight, fixed her mask, and went back to the practice room. 

"And she's back!" Nayeon said, clapping, being the first to notice Jade was back. 

Faking giggling, Jade fixed her hat, trying to pretend everything was fine and that it was just a pee break. 

"At least it was a good break." Chaeyoung joked with Tzuyu as they got up, ready to start dancing again. "I felt like my legs were moving alone." 

"You're lucky we're alone. If the managers were here we wouldn't even have breaks." Dahyun joked.

"Yeah," Jade agreed. "let's just end this. I want to go home." 

"Don't we all?" Sana also joked, puffing, making the girls laugh with her. 

Somehow, in the middle of all that laughter, Momo realised something was off. Jade was different from when she left the room asking for a quick break.

"Hey," Momo lightly grabbed Jade's arm, Jade humming in response. "are you okay?" 

Jade forced a giggle, trying to pretend she didn't know why Momo was asking her that. Her puffy face was definitely giving it up. 

"Sure!" Jade smiled through the pain.

"Jaidee, don't lie to me." Momo said with a warm smile. "It's me you're talking to." 

That was it for Jade. As all the emotions hit her all at once again, Jade just lowered her head, allowing the tears to fall and show how she was truly feeling. 

"Guys..." 

She heard Momo calling the other girls as she walked to the couch. Jade tried to hide her face with any of the pillows there as the girls started crawling around her. 

"Oh, Jade?" Jade heard Jeongyeon ask, almost whispering, scared of the girl's reaction. 

"What happened?" Mina asked, caressing Jade's now caramel hair. 

They all stayed quiet, listening to Jade's sobs filling up the room. None of the members had ever seen her in that state before. Of course, they saw her crying but never so... vulnerable. 

They looked at each other, trying to figure out who would be the first one to ask what happened. Was it Johnny? Was it her family? Was it their early jokes? No one knew. But they all knew one thing: Jade needed help. 

"Everyone h-hates me!" Jade mumbled against the pillow, sobbing. 

"No!" the girls said together. 

"Don't say this, Jade. We love you!" Nayeon said, running her arm around Jade's shoulder. 

"No, guys." Jade said, looking at the girls and taking her mask and hat off. That was when the girls realised how bad she was. "Didn't you see w-what people are t-talking about me?" 

The girls looked at each other again, trying to understand. Then, Jihyo's sighed. 

"The contract." she said, linking things. "The company announced we renewed our contracts today." 

"Oh..." Dahyun said, calling the girls' attention to her, and she showed her phone display. She tried to hide it as Jade was also looking. "People are loving you, Jade." 

"Stop lying, Dahyun!" Jade suddenly said. "People hate me all these years. I'm starting to regret renewing that fucking contract." 

"Don't, unnie!" Chaeyoung said, supporting her chin on Jade's lap and hugging her legs. "Don't listen to them. We're not TWICE without you." 

"Stop, Dahyun." Jade covered her ears and started crying again. 

"Jade, listen." Momo took Jade's hand out of her ear and looked straight at her. "Calm down. We're here to help you, but you need to calm down and tell us what happened." 

"I happened, unnie!" Jade exploded. "Stop pretending you guys don't know what happens every time something about the group goes out. People hate me and make thousand of petitions for me to leave. I just..." Jade sighed. "I can't do this anymore." 

"We know words hurt, Jade." Jeongyeon told her. "We are the living proof of this. But, if you listen to everything everyone has to say about you, you won't ever show your true value." 

"I've been doing this since when I was fucking fourteen, Jeongyeon. It feels like I can't breathe with all this weight on my shoulders." Jade tried to put her emotions into words, but the more she tried to explain, the more it'd hurt. 

"Look at us, Jade." Sana asked. "People hate on things that shine. Look at all the things you had to go through to be here today. Years of training, a survival show. All the songs you produced and all the idols you helped so far." 

"Your family is so proud of you, Jade. We are proud of you." Mina said, trying to comfort the girl. "If you want to quit, be honest with yourself because we know that you're bigger than all of these people out there. You just have to realise it yourself." 

"And, if you want to quit, we'll be here for you. As we've always been." Tzuyu reassured Jade. "Just don't make anything you'd regret." 

Jade took a slow glance around her. She has been living with these people since her teenage years. Some of them she only got to know at Sixteen, but it seemed like they've always been somewhere in her life as if Jade has always known them. 

The confrontation turns into action. Escape turns into inertia, and Jade hated inert people. 

It wasn't the first time she had thought of leaving the group. If that was supposed to happen, she'd have done this for bigger reasons than just people talking about her. Listen people saying that you're bad right at your face isn't a nice thing, but it surely was some gasoline for competitive souls like Jade's. 

Yet, Jade felt like she had failed with the girls, with the people who supported her the most. And she couldn't ever forgive herself for that. 

"I have no idea what to do next, guys." Jade honestly said, for the first time in years. 

"That is called 'not being tough all the time'." Naeyon joked, hugging Jade again. 

"We're not giving up on you, unnie." Chaeyoung said, still hugging Jade's leg. "TWICE will always be ten." 

When Jade looked down and saw Chaeyoung looking like a little kid, she couldn't contain it and let out a laugh mixed with a cry, uncertain of how to react to the scene. The girls also realised Chaeyoung's position and started laughing, the tense atmosphere gradually fading away. 

"Chae!" Jade whined. "Stop making me laugh." 

"If that makes you stop crying, then, I'm okay." Chaeyoung said, clinging even more to Jade's leg. 

Somehow, something inside Jade lighted up. You can be the greatest singer of all time, yet if you wake up with a hoarse voice on the day of your biggest show, it'd change everything. Yet, with all of the exhausting situations and hypotheses, Jade refused to leave the girls. 

She didn't want fame. She didn't want fans. As long as she had the girls next to her, everything would be just fine.

There’s a kind of contentment that comes with being absolutely exhausted. When you’re that tired, you know you’ve done your best and pushed yourself yet you’ve withstood the tiredness and given it your all. That’s usually how Lily feels after a long day of practicing. She’d be extremely tired, ready to drag herself home and flop into bed and start over the next day. But not today.

The exhaustion is there, wearing well into her bones but instead of feeling content, she just feels tired. She’s not even supposed to finish practicing for another hour and yet she is just so tired. Usually she pushes on through, telling herself the pain now is worth it in the end. But this doesn’t feel like the tired she’s used to. It’s so much concentrated, seeping into mind and making her just want to sleep.

She stumbles over her own feet again as she tries to work through the dance break at the end of her solo comeback song for the nth time. She takes a breath and bends over, coughing as she braces herself on her knees. She just feels completely wiped out; maybe she’s been pushing herself too hard? She wobbles over to the couch on the side of the room and sits down with a sigh.

“Okay, Lily. Take ten then we’re back,” she says to herself.

She coughs again, clearing her throat before settling further back into the couch and leaning her head back. All it takes is a few deep breaths with her eyes closed and she’s out like a light.

“Lily Lee~ Unnie made you breakfast,” Nayeon sings gently as she enters the maknae line’s room.

The eldest member carries a plate of blueberry pancakes, Lily’s favorite. All of the members are well aware of how hard Lily is pushing herself to make her solo comeback go nothing less than perfect. They know she feels guilty for being given so many individual opportunities over her members despite all nine of their reassurances that they’re nothing but proud of her. Nayeon decided to surprise Lily with her favorite breakfast in bed.

“Li...ly?”

Nayeon doesn’t think she’s heard Lily get up this morning. Tzuyu and Dahyun are still asleep in their bunks and Chaeyoung is out to brunch with a friend. Lily’s bunk, however, is empty, save for Blue curled up in his usual spot at the foot of the bed. Nayeon leaves the room and her eyebrows only knit together further when she checks and finds the bathroom empty.

“Jihyo, do you know where Lily is?” Nayeon asks.

Jihyo, Sana, and Momo sit in the living room eating the extra pancakes Nayeon had made. (The best ones, of course, had been puts on Lily’s plate.) All three of them look up at Nayeon’s question.

“Is she not in her room?” Jihyo asks.

“No.”

“Bathroom?”

“Just checked.”

“She didn’t stay at Jisung’s dorm last night, did she?”

“No, she was practicing until late,” Momo reminds the leader.

“Did anyone hear her come in?”

“We all went to bed before her but maybe?” Sana says.

Jihyo glances around at the growing worry on her members’ faces.

“Okay, um, Sana. Go ask the others if they know where Lily is and whether or not they know she came home. Nayeon, put Lily’s plate in the microwave and finish cleaning up the kitchen. Momo, call Lily’s cell and see if she’ll pick up. I’ll call Jisung and see if she’s with him.”

The other three girls set off to do as they were told and Jihyo pulls out her phone. She quickly finds the right contact and calls Jisung. NCT Dream’s dorm is practically Lily’s second home. She is constantly spending the night there, the other group’s maknae never complaining to give up his bed to Lily for the night if it means getting to joke around while eating cereal together the next morning. If not for their endlessly busy idol lives, they would be attached at the hip.

“Uhhh... Jihyo sunbaenim? Hello.”

The boy who answers the phone is not Jisung.

“Hello, who is this?”

“I’m Jaemin, one of Jisung’s members.”

“Where is Jisung?”

“He’s showering but he should be out soon- oh, he’s right here.”

Muffled, Jihyo hears, “Hyung, why are using my phone?”

Louder and closer to the phone, Jaemin answers, “It’s Lily’s leader.”

“Jihyo?”

“Yeah.”

Jaemin presumably hands the phone to Jisung.

“Noona?”

“Jisung. Is Lily with you?”

“With me? No.”

“Oh, okay.”

“W-Why? Is she okay? Did something happen?”

Jaemin says something Jihyo can’t understand. The sound that follows sounds suspiciously like Jisung hitting his older member.

“We’re not sure where she is right now,” Jihyo answers.

She looks up as Sana, Nayeon, and Momo return to the living room, several of the other girls coming with them, all looking worried.

“Do you need help finding her? I can call her,” Jisung offers.

“No, it’s alright, Jisung. Thank you, though. Bye-”

“Wait! Will you let me know when you find her?” Jisung says quickly before she can hang up. “Or ask her to text me when she’s home?”

Jihyo blinks, “Uh, yeah. I’ll tell her to text you. Bye, Jisung.”

“Goodbye...”

Jihyo hangs up.

“She’s not with Jisung,” Jihyo announces to the others.

“My call went straight to voicemail,” Momo says, “Her phone’s either off or dead.”

“I don’t like this,” Mina says. “Lily always tells us when she’s staying with someone.”

“Yeah,” Tzuyu agrees quietly.

“What if something happened to her?”

“She might just be at ITZY’s dorm. They live a little closer to the company.”

“But what if something did happen to her?”

“She was walking home late at night; someone should have gone to get her.”

“She’s so little.”

“If someone tried to grab her in an empty street she wouldn’t be able to do much.”

“What if someone recognized her?”

“What if she got kidnapped?!”

“What if she got followed by a sasaeng!?”

“Guys... GUYS!” Jihyo calls to get everyone’s attention. “Worrying like this isn’t going to help anyone. I’ll stay here with Sana in case she comes back. You all split up and start trying to find her.“

While the others hurry to pull on coats and shoes and throw their hair up into ponytails, Sana walks over to Jihyo.

“What are we going to do?” Sana asks.

“We’re going to start calling people,” Jihyo answers. “Anyone Lily knows and we don’t, we’re going to figure out their phone number and call them.”

“How are we going to do that? Like, I don’t have any of Blackpink’s phone numbers.”

“Well... okay. But you know Nayeon. And Nayeon knows Jisoo. Find connections like that.”

A few minutes later, Jihyo has gotten Blackpink’s eldest’s phone number and been told she’s not with them. Nonetheless, Jihyo tries to remember another one of Lily’s countless idol friends to try and call.

What had gone from a ten minute break to a nearly nine hour night of sleep leaves Lily still fast asleep on the couch of a practice room that morning. She’s shifted onto her side, curled up and sleeping soundly. She wakes slowly, blinking and groaning at the bright overhead lights still shining from the night before. She eventually sits up and rubs the final remnants of sleep from her eyes. Her phone is dead, she realizes, getting the time from the clock on the wall instead.

10:13AM? Really? She was asleep that long? She’s almost surprised her body let her sleep for so long; she usually can’t make it past seven hours of consecutive sleep. She knows her members must be worried sick about her not being home after being alone the night before. She should head home right away to let them know she’s okay. As she pulls her coat on, she hopes her members aren’t worrying too bad.

Unbeknownst to her, the members of Day6 and Stray Kids are scouring the entire company building for her. Nearly the entire kpop idol community has become aware of Twice’s missing maknae as Jihyo and Sana have continued calling more and more people. If there was ever a day to run into an idol somewhere in Seoul, today would be that day as anyone who is able to is out looking for Lily.

“Come on, idiot, don’t actually be missing,” Jae mutters to himself as he starts checking in and out of practice rooms.

Despite Jae’s mean older brother act, it’s obvious and impossible to deny that he cares about the younger American. He’s always teasing her about her height but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how easily someone bigger than her could grab her and force her into a car or down an alleyway or-

“Lily!”

Jae spots Lily leaving a practice room further down the hall. The girl turns toward him.

“Oh, hey-“

Jae crashes into Lily in a hug, squeezing her tightly.

“Okay. Hi, there.” She pats his back as she hugs him back, confused as he usually only briefly hugs her in parting, “Is today a special occasion or...?”

“You are an absolute dumbass, Lilliana Lee!” Jae yells at her, smacking the side of her head.

“OW! What was that for?!” she whines.

“Your members have no idea where you are!” Jae exclaims. “They think you’ve been kidnapped or killed or something and have everyone you’ve ever even looked at for more than five seconds looking for you.”

“W-What?“

“They woke up and you weren’t at the dorm and you weren’t answering their calls so they started calling people to see if you were with them and now every idol ever is searching the entirety of Seoul for you but you’ve just been in a practice room?!!”

“I fell asleep! I didn’t mean to!”

“You can’t just disappear like that!” Jae continues to scold her. “You’ve got so many people worried over nothing and- shit.”

Jae turns away from Lily and covers his eyes.

“Are you-,” Lily steps around him to look at his face, “Are you crying?”

“No,” he says firmly.

“I think you are.”

He glares at her, “I’m still mad at you.”

She steps back with her hands raised, “My bad.”

He sighs, “Alright. Let’s get you home.”

“Okay,” Lily agrees softly.

She lets Jae lead her down the hall, coughing into her elbow before entering the elevator. Jae already has his phone out, texting his members to stop their search because he’s found her.

“Are you sick?” he asks.

“I just think I need some water,” she says.

“You should take some medicine when you get home, just in case.”

“Aw, you do care about me. The only tsundere I know is Jae Park.”

Jae shoves his phone into her hands, “Shut up and call Jeongyeon. You get to deal with her wrath.”

Lily looks at Jeongyeon’s contact that has been pulled up on Jae’s phone and gulps.

MOKI ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ — momo x suki

❝ sometimes i forget that you’re japanese too... ❞

Momo and Suki met as trainees through Sana, but they didn’t become close until after their debut. They’re very soft together and love skinship - because of this, Momo often wants Suki’s attention.

Even though Suki is younger, Momo has mentioned that she’s like an older sister to her at times because of how much she would baby her and protect her.

Whenever Momo feels insecure about something, Suki will immediately reassure her about it. These two are always helping each other out, especially when it comes to singing and dancing.

Late night trips to the convenience store!

The first time Suki ever spoke in Japanese to Momo, Momo was absolutely shook. Even now she’ll still get surprised by her Japanese sometimes.

When Momo has to take Boo and Dobby out for a walk, sometimes Suki would join her and then they’d go on a little adventure together!

Momo is Suki's taste tester whenever she cooks or bakes something new.

Suki loves to hype up and stream Momo's fancams every comeback.

Sana and Suki have been very close ever since they were trainees. Whenever they hung out together back then, Bang Chan was usually with them too.

Being the only extroverts in TWICE, these two get along very well and almost always understand each other’s intentions. The time they spend together is never boring because of how comfortable they are with each other - they’re very loud, playful, and clingy.

Despite their constant jokes and teasing, they deeply care about each other. If one of them is feeling down, the other is always there to make her smile again and knows just what to do to cheer her up.

TWICE’s happy viruses! They always lift the mood because of their energy and their ability to make people smile.

Boba dates!

Sana’s hugs and cuddles are one of Suki’s weaknesses.

Suki despises aegyo, but when she’s with Sana, she will unintentionally do it sometimes; which she absolutely regrets because Sana will endlessly tease her about it, saying how her cuteness is rubbing off on her.

Sana is always helping Suki improve her Japanese and finds it really cute whenever she makes mistakes.

MIKI (⌒▽⌒) — mina x suki

Mina and Suki also met through Sana when they were trainees, but they didn't become close until after their debut. They were hesitant to talk to each other at first because of how different they seemed from each other, but that quickly changed after learning that they shared many interests and similarities.

These two are very sweet to each other and have a very chill relationship. They enjoy being around each other even if it’s silent and they’re not doing anything.

If there’s anyone who can get Mina to talk more, it’s Suki - sometimes she can really bring out Mina’s confident and dorky sides and she loves it. Mina is also the unnie that Suki listens to the most.

✧ 미키 : JUST MIKI THINGS!

Mina is really comfortable speaking in English to Suki - at first she wasn’t, but because Suki would always just talk to her in English, she eventually became confident in using it with her.

They often share their clothes with each other.

If Suki were to date a TWICE member, she said that she would date Mina.

They have matching Disney rings because of their ship name.
