Linked Universe Character Guide

I made this LU character guide for my friends and I thought it might be useful for any new LU fans out there! And also for anyone else who wants to info dump to friends about LU. So here you go :D

These characters are of course based on @linkeduniverse by Jojo! But, disclaimer, this does include some non-canon stuff (primarily the fandom nicknames and some War of Ages things) that’s common in fanfiction :). I made this for fun and for my friends so it includes my favorite tropes, canon and fanon.

Majora’s Mask was a 3-day time loop basically, Time was the one to control the movement of time though

He has masks that give the wearer powers

His facial markings come from the Fierce Diety Mask, which gives him god-like fighting power, but he can’t always tell friend from foe

Had a fairy companion named Navi in Ocarina of Time

He often comforts the others as Wolfie

Wild’s mentor (because Wolf Link can show up in Breath of the Wild)

Mentored by Time (Hero’s Shade) and Time’s blood descendant

One of the only ones to start his journey as an older teen/adult

Was cursed with Shadow Magic and can now turn into a wolf at will using the artifact he wears as a necklace (Shadow Crystal)

His horse Epona sometimes accompanies the group

Had a companion named Midna that he loved but can never see again

Military man, but the good kind, Captain in the Hyrulean Army

Weird relationship with Time- Time is team dad, but during the War of Ages Warriors was his big brother figure

Wind’s mentor

Looks are important to him

Prefers to be in groups, good at communication

Best at strategizing and battle plans and such

Doesn’t trust easily because a lot of his soldiers betrayed him

Emotionally mature

Loves to bicker with Legend

Most likely to have actual field medic training

Smallest but not the youngest, probably mid teen age now

Only one in the group with a functioning braincell

Very skilled blacksmith

Friends with Minish, which are a race of small mouse-y creatures that can only be seen by children

Wields the Four Sword, which can split him into four versions of himself: Red, Green, Blue, Vio

Each color displays an aspect of Four’s personality

Keeps this a secret and in LU canon just recently revealed it to Wild. Time also knows

Never wielded the Master Sword, doesn’t have the Triforce of Courage

Good at stealth and navigation

Is a pirate

Has a little sister named Aryll

The others look out for him since he’s the youngest, but he wants to be able to prove himself as a capable hero

He can control the wind with his Wind Waker, though this has never been used in LU canon

Started his journey because his sister was kidnapped

Was not originally gifted with the Hero’s Spirit of Courage, he assembled the Triforce during his journey

Killed Ganon at age 12 by stabbing him in the face

Survivalist, best archer, crazy good stamina

Only Link that is actually good at cooking

Very prone to injury, a bit reckless, breaks his weapons a lot

Has insecurities about being the only Link that ‘failed’ their mission (this is obviously not true)

Lost his memories when he died, still getting them back

Used to be a knight pre-Calamity Ganon

Mentored by Twilight

He and Hyrule often run off and get lost together

Has the Shiekah Slate, the inventory works, bombs and stasis are the only runes still functional. Technically in LU canon he has an enchanted bag, but in fanfics his storage is usually the slate

Scars are from when he died during the Calamity. Shrine of Resurrection fully healed his body internally

Wolf Link (older version of Twilight) helped him on parts of his journey

Very snarky, tries to act emotionally unaffected by his adventures

Truly loves adventuring and travelling

But likes to do things the right way and know where he’s going

One of his adventures may not have been real (Koholint), and he has a lot of issues surrounding that and the woman he fell in love with during it

Has so many items, has a tool for everything (bit of a hoarder)

Can turn into a pink rabbit sometimes

Ravio is his counterpart from Lorule, they live together

What you didnt know was that its very easy to get lost with him

Bc he's so excited/curious for new sights he doesnt give any fucks abt where he is, so it devolves into that "wait, I thought YOU were leading us there?? Then where tf are we??!!" very quickly

Does feel bad he stressed u out smtimes but he somehow manages to get into such wild shit that Hyrule's kinda preoccupied being confused/amazed/finding his way out, or any combo of these situations (once again, usually with you unfortunately)

Is the luckiest when it comes to getting lost or anything to do with "natural" things

Like he heard u rlly like this one fruit? Accidentally gets lost all day and panics all the Links + You until he shows up at midnight with a shirtful of them

("I found a few fruit trees/plants in the woods while wandering! I tried to grab a few for you and before I knew it, it was dark, sorry...")

Likes learning little skills from other people, like learning how to do makeup from Legend, or how to spot collections of rupees the Minish have left somewhere from Four, or how walk on any terrain from Wind (good at walking on a ship, on land, climbing etc)

More of a "sunset" hiker than a "sunrise" one

Likes to do your hair! Whether that be braiding, putting accessories (he handmade shhh) thruout it, or helping with hair maintenance, likes how strangely intimate but domestic it feels together with you (u return the favor ofc)

Time (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask):

Gets anxious if he's late to things, likes being fashionably early (or ungodly, when u let him get away with it)

Has absolutely been that meme from Parks and Recreation where he's like "Alright. I'm not mad, I just wanna know. Who broke it?"

Knowing full and well-

"I broke it. It burnt my coffee for the 3rd morning in a row, so I punched it. I predict 10 minutes from now they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a moblin head on a stick. ...good. It was getting a little chummy around here."

MF LOVES GOSSIP (wouldn't admit this even at swordpoint)

Wars has absolutely been the person in the meme of:

Has a resting bitch face and knows it, actively cultivates it, scary dog privileges for you,

The same height as First, (Twi's a close 2nd), and feels most secure when the 3 of you are at the front of the group, but First/Time are slightly in front of you

Like ur literally the person walking their 2 huge scary doobermans/mastiffs one leash in each hand basically 💀

Fierce Deity (Majora's Mask):

Likes music, any music (amused at drunk karaoke)

Casually cradles ur arms or back whenever ur falling asleep/tripping/being clumsy near him

Very warm and smoothed calloused hands

Thinks abt what he's about to say so hard/long, that the conversation's moved on by like, 3 rounds/subject changes by the time he's actually ready to talk

Scolds ppl (in like a sentence) who neglect their needs, like sleeping/eating/hygiene

Finds peace in nature, if hes ever upset, u can bet he's already taking a walk by a stream

Likes teaching u/other Links little skills he has, its nice to feel appreciated/needed for something other than fighting or big moments

He falls in love with small moments, like the first time u made them all a dessert recipe from ur world, or repaired First's scarf (for the millioneth time) and bc everyone had gotten their clothes scratched up, everyone needed repairs so most Links were sewing smth lol

Enjoys watching ppl experience smth for the first time, or even himself exp smth for first time

Fierce smiled fully for the first time when you got into the mountain hot springs in Wild's Hyrule for the first time and were super excited

Also the type to hold ur hand while stepping in to make sure u dont fall, or just subtly boost a Link that was abt to fall from climbing smth

Like for being the tallest, he's surprisingly sneaky, the energy of the biggest cat in the house yet somehow also the quietest

Does that thing where someone takes ur hand and like massages ur fingers, palm, wrist and shakes them out kinda for you <3

Twilight (Twilight Princess):

Trips UP the stairs.

Cold start LMAO

ok ill be nice to him,, sike

Easy to bully?? U mean that kindly, he's just such a golden retriever sometimes u cant help urself (tho u make sure to reign it in and not take advantage of it so as not to genuninely hurt him)

Lol likes to "herd" his favorite people, like those dogs livestock farmers have u kno that they say end up herding their owners/their family lol

Like making subtle circles around the Chain, wrapping an arm around Hyrule and teasing him to quietly bring him back into the group before he gets lost,

Tugs on Time's armor to slow him down, mf may be in armor head to toe but he'll outpace all of u 💀

Likes to put his hand on ur lower back to guide u back into the group from whatever scenic thing u got distracted by

(so sue you, ur literally in The Legend of Zelda's Hyrule, surrounded by pretty blondes, why tf wouldnt you be distracted all the time??)

The only time he doesnt herd actively is in Ordon, just subconciously lol <3

Terrible sleep schedule, but sleeps like the dead when he does, has collapsed with a limb on top of you and u couldnt escape

Hard time waking up in the morning despite being country boy, who usually have to do chores first thing in morning on a farm

hates/envious of Wild (up at 5am even on days off?? Foul.)

Runs warm, but complains abt a slight breeze?

Would sleep with no covers if it werent for morning dew

Wishes cats liked him more (its the wolf smell)

Twi has the constant energy of a tall person carefully maneuvering around cluttered/low doorways while someone a head shorter runs by him and bounces off of him

U get onto/scold the Links and he's immediately the first to just sit on the ground, or put down whatever he's holding no matter what he's doing LMAO 😭😭

Keeps his eyes on u too the whole time lol

Warriors (Hyrule Warriors):

Cries over romance novels/dramas

A virgo in all stereotypes of the word tbh

Invented the red-string conspiracy theory board before the red-string conspiracy board existed in Hyrule

Also likes to take care of your hair! (What?? He and 'Rulie don't fight over ur hair, that'd be childish, he's not a foolish boy- Hyrule, hand over the brush.👹)

Remembers the little things abt u type of person, like ur favorite drink, ur favorite stories like tv shows/books even if theyre from ur world, ur favorite clothing pieces like shorts vs. pants, etc.

The only Link who can single handedly claim he could take your closet and dress you in something you'd actually wear.

Honestly once he got the hang of it, would get better at dressing you, than you

(Another domestic thing he adores, picking outfits for u/finding that perfect piece of clothing you've been needing lately)

Born to night-owl, forced to morning-bird 😔

Wars wakes up stiff sometimes bc soldier training is sleeping on ur back, hands to ur sides, laying straight in ur bed, so as to fit into bunks/bedrolls close together

It got better as he was promoted to Captain, so he could have his own quarters but its still a hard habit to shake

One of the few Links who works up the courage to genuinely pitfully ask if you'd mind massaging his shoulders again? He slept badly last night, please?? 🥺👉👈

The most lowkey abt taking care of Chain, but u make sure to take care of him as a gift back, and you've definitely caught him tearing up abt it 💖

Nobody asked but here's some Twi and Wars being brothers in my au !! Twi is very easily prone to sensory overload but Warriors is good at getting him through it. Like braiding his hair, it's a simple thing that Twi finds helps keep him grounded when he's overstimulated. Wars is a good friend and brother

Wild's ref sheet is finally done!! Also including a rough scar map here and an unequipped alt (read: shrine boxers only) under the cut, along with some design notes!!

Wild belongs to ASAU, please don't tag any other AUs :)

Wild's outfit is mostly pulled from the Hylian set, with the exception of the tunic, Rito corset from the snowquill set, and boots. The tunic is something Kio just made up, the boots are from the Twilight Hero set (so Wild kinda stole Twi's old boots). Their earrings are two sapphire and topaz studs with ruby and diamond teardrops.

Their hair is usually worn long like this, with a few French braids pulling the long hair away from their face and creating a faux undercut. Wild usually keeps it pretty messy and doesn't do much more than this, but they do like it down rather than up.

On scars, Wild got a good bit of them on their adventure, but the large burns on their side, arm, and leg are definitely from defending Flora at Fort Hateno. They don't remember those very well. Their bad ear was from a near miss with a guardian laser, and they tend to leave that side facing their bombs, so they're fairly deaf in that ear now.

....Concerning the alt below, Kio couldn't make up their mind whether to have Wild nipless like the model, or let them keep their nips 😂 We decided "one on one off" and Wild is making their one remaining nip count. They frequently like their jewelry to match their earrings, but will opt for something less flashy if they're going out and adventuring, expecting to get knocked around. They might also have some other piercings out of sight and a few interesting scars...

And yes the Sheikah text does say something. It's decipherable if you have the patience! Just a silly little thing~

here's all the second iteration of my mane 6 gorls, except Twi who I didn't change at all. Also I've started drawing w/out bases again bc I am back in the habit now, the only downside is that whenever I start drawing humanoids again I will be very out of practice XD the Rarity and Rainbow Dash are the ones with no base, I sketched them in pencil b4 transferring the design to my phone to color. those each have their own post on this page, while the rest are only on this post, but their first iteration posts are still up. They look pretty similar to the finals, but I made a few changes so if you click for quality you will see that these drawings are much more polished.

Rarity is a unicorn, and is standing normally, but with one hoof up as if gesturing to herself, and her head turned to the side. has a more slender body type, with legs that get wider towards the hooves that end in gold horseshoes. she has a black coat, and white hair. her mane is tied into a bun with big curly bangs, and her tail is secured in a gold band. she has blue eyes with white lashes, and a pair of cat-eye glasses whose red frames are decorated by a gold and blue detail, secured by a loose gold and blue beaded chain. her cutie mark is of three blue, rhombus-shaped diamonds strung onto a red thread with gold beads. The two earrings in her visible ear are also blue and gold.

Pinkie Pie appears to be running or skipping across the page, but looking towards the viewer. she has a light pink coat with a very pastel pink, very poofy mane and tail. her mane is secured into space buns that resemble a buttercream rosette, while her tail is decorated halfway down by a blue scrunchie. Her cutie mark is a blue foil balloon, and it's yellow string continues around her leg. she has a white heart-shaped patch on her chest, and is wearing a yellow and blue rock candy necklace. her visible ear has two blue earrings and one yellow.

Fluttershy head is downturned and she's looking upwards shyly, her wings only partially unfolded. She has a thicker and more rounded body type, with long ears. She has a yellow coat and long, shaggy green hair with a tail that drags along the ground and back hooves covered in mud. her cutie mark has two pink butterflies and one brown pawprint. her necklace pendant is also a pink butterfly, with a green chain that matches her two green bracelets. She has bat-like wings, but also pink and green feathers around the outskirts of them.

Twilight is a unicorn, she appears to be walking across the screen, looking at something above her rather than the viewer or even where she is going. She has an almost cat-like body type, with legs that taper inwards towards small hooves and visible amounts of fluff around her legs and face. She has a light purple coat, which is sparkly in the area near her cutie mark of an elongated six-pointed magenta star-shaped gem. She has navy blue hair and a navy gradient at the ends of her limbs, ears and horn. her mane and tail have straight texture but are quite poofy, and taper inwards at the ends, ending in a curl. Twilight has facial markings which resemble bat-wing eyeliner and a sparkly black stripe from her eye to her chin. her semicircle glasses have thin hold frames with an equally understated frame, but are counterweighted by a gem that matches her cutie mark.

Rainbow Dash is a pegasus who is floating in the center of the picture, in a casual sprawling pose with one front hoof confidently raised up. She has a light blue coat and her tail and bangs are streaked with rainbow colors. her tail is in a half-bun while her mane is cut into a floofy, spiky version of a modern mullet, with the back part dyed stormy gray. Her cutie mark has a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt. her visible ear features one earring for each of the six colors of the rainbow.

I have a hc that wild likes having his hair braided by the others so here’s that:

Twilight is really good at it, having grownup around so many little kids he’s used to braiding and often experiments different styles when there’s time, he also likes incorporating whatever greenery is nearby

Sky is pretty good at and finds it calming and will tuck little charms or flowers in, he’s not on Twi’s level but it’s still nice.

Time finds its an easy repetitive motion to slip into, he doesn’t have much time to do it since he is babysitting the others most of the time but it’s a nice distraction for him. He also used to do it to the deku tree kids.

Four will do it begrudgingly especially after wild breaks a sword but he enjoys it after a bit

Wind finds it an easy task to do when he’s tired, he does it for tetra and her crew and thinks of it like a bonding experience and could probably do it with his eyes closed and have it look decent

Warriors does not get the appeal at first but thinks it’s alright after a couple times, he has woven a few fabrics in a couple times.

Legend isn’t very pleased with the outcome no matter how hard he tries, and gets frustrated, it still looks nice but not as good as winds braids

Hyrule is not allowed to braid hair, last time he tried it ended with a bunch of knots and really tangled up, wild loves his hair too much to let him try, hyrule is fine with this

Wild has trouble with doing it himself because of the scarring, part of the reason he has the others do it

Stargazing

Nighttime, a time of peace, quiet, where one can get the relaxation they need.

To Wind however, he always felt bored, restless. Sure he'd eventually fall asleep and wake up later than most people, but that time took forever.

He slipped out of bed and out of the room, careful not to awake Warriors. He found himself in the kitchen where he saw something outside the window.

"Wild?" Wind asked, opening the door and peering onto the porch.

"Oh, hey Wind. What are you doing? It's pretty late." Wild was sitting on a chair, turning back to face towards the sky, staring at the stars above them.

"I could ask you the same thing." Wind replied, crossing his arms.

Wild looked back towards his little brother, "Can't sleep, sometimes stargazing helps. The stars are so bright out here."

Wind pushed a seat towards where Wild was, adjusting it a bit before sitting down. "Was it another nightmare?"

Wild nodded, "I didn't wanna wake up Twi, or Wolfie. It wasn't a bad one, well, I can't remember."

Wind grabbed a piece of Wilds hair, lacing it between his fingers as he weaved a braid through the honey-golden strands.

"Sorry you keep having them, I had a few when Aryll was taken. They really suck."

They sat there for a while, staring at the stars. Wind had gotten Wild to move over a bit so he could squeeze in and give him a hug.

"You know, in school they taught us how to chart stars and stuff. That big one up there is the easiest way to go north without a compass, I think," Wind said, breaking the silence.

Wild nodded as Wind rambled on about the different constellations that painted various pictures and all the stories that came with them, trying not to succumb to the exhaustion that plagued him.

Early that morning, Malon found them curled up and asleep. She decided not to wake them just yet.

Satan: *Watches Eve fix his Hanfu* This feels silky...it's comfortable

Eve: *Beams up at him, her eyes sparkling* Really!?

Satan: Yes, it is ticklish though

Eve: *Beams, running from Belial's side* Satan!

Eve: *Stares up at Satan surprised, her back against the wall with his hand on her waist*

Satan: *Grips Eve's hand, narrowing his eyes* You were having a lot of fun...

"But don't let them ruin our beautiful rhythms"

Sitri: She's good with kids..

Eve: *Smiles, fixing a childs grip on her hair* Oh careful, you tugged..

Satan: *Grins* She is...

Eve: *Laughs, hugging two of the giggling children the others braiding her hair the best they could*

Position

“Everyone in position?” Ahsoka grinned ferally, and Anakin was suddenly very reminded of the fact that Togruta were carnivores. Oh well. At least the focus wasn’t on him this time.

“Ready, sir,” Rex called over the com. Beside him, Cody snickered. This was long overdue.

“Target acquired,” He called, looking straight ahead.

“And…” Anakin counted to three under his breath.

“NOW!” Obi-Wan didn’t stand a chance. Cody took his legs, Rex took his arms, Ahsoka took the middle.

“What-” Anakin walked up, holding a cup of Obi-Wan’s favorite blend of tea.

“We’re staging an intervention,” He said, all too cheerfully.

“Anakin-” The exasperation in Obi-Wan’s voice was palpable.

“Nope! Kix says if you don’t agree he’ll sedate you again. And the 212th’s medic agrees,” Ahsoka says, voice full of mischievous joy.

Obi-Wan sighed.

“I suppose I should get comfortable, then.”

Sky groaned, looking at the paper in front of him.

“We are pleased to report that things on the Surface are-”Come on, please, he didn’t care about this! Just let him get to the part from his fiance already! Or heck, even Groose! He’d take anything over the bore that the majority of this letter was, but he had to read it. Something about being Sun’s future husband and being a hero and all.

“Trouble in paradise?” Warriors smirked, coming up behind him.

Sky just handed him the letter with a groan and put his head into his knees.

Wars looked over it for a minute, then laughed.

“Summary of what’s gotten done, which is just repairs on the Temple of Time so far, and useless drivel of asking when you’re coming back and will you bring money with you.”

Sky groaned again, and then held out his hand, asking for the letter without words. “You’re a lifesaver.” “I’m used to it, military reports are worse. Have fun, it looks like your girlfriend wrote a lot.”

“Fiance!” Sky called after him.

“There’s no way we can do this.” Twi’s voice was serious, and deadpan.

“Come on, Sky did this for us just so we could, we have to try!” Wind argued.

Twilight sighed.

“Fine. But if we get in trouble, I’m pinning this on you.” They both knew that definitely wouldn’t happen.

Wind grinned.

“Great! Now, here’s the plan-”

Fierce opened his eyes with a grunt, feeling something on his hair. There was a giggle, and then a flurry of movement. In a second, he was on his feet, holding Wind by his collar high in the air.

“Is there something you needed, Little Hurricane?” He asked. Wind giggled, and shook his head.

Fierce’s eyes narrowed.

“Really. So there’s nothing you want to admit on threat of being tossed into the river!” “Fierce!” Wind shrieked, but couldn’t stop his giggles. Fierce rolled his eyes quietly, and started stalking towards the river.

He stopped, mid-pull back to throw Wind in, when he caught sight of his hair, numerous little braids in it, and flowers of all different types woven in.

Wind grinned widely. Fierce huffed, and threw him in anyways. But it was nice to see his boys having fun and getting to be silly for once.

And if Sky kept the hairstyle in for a few days after he took off the mask, well, no one commented on it.

And Twi would get out of his surgery, his appendix gone, and his life saved, and he would be fine, and alive, and healthy. And Time would make sure he was fine.

He just had to keep breathing, and shove it down until he could break down later, because everyone should be worried about Twi, and not him. 

He’d be fine.

Fighting dark Shadows, that did not like Baylans attempt to control their master

The Son or Abeloth, it doesn`t matter

This dark force Wants to consume them claim their lifes like it did. With so many beings in this new galaxy.

Baylan does his best to stay at Shins side but sooner or later they get seperated

Baylan gets knocked to the ground, overwhelmed by the sheer power that sorrounds them.

He still hears it whispering „Serve me and together we will break the cycle.“

He tries to get up and sees the Jedi temple burning

Death and destruction

He wanted to stop it, he had hoped this dead planet would help him do so.

He call his lightsaber, slowly standing up

Maybe he should listen to the voice, it was dangerous yes but maybe it was the only way to end the galaxies endless suffering.

And another Voice calls, pleads for him

Another girl suddenly stands before him eyes and age the same, but she is human, the hair white, she is smiling shyly.

He once swore himself to never let her suffer either

And yet, she does

The visions end, and he faces the reality, the consequences of his actions

The Shadows are clawing into his padawans collapsed form,praying on her weakness

Why didn‘t he see the danger when she compared herself to a jedi

her clothes are torn, scratches all Over her Body and her eyes frantically search for his, he sees her tears

“ Master please.“

Anger rises in him, his lightsaber ignites in bright Orange

He was a fool, thinking he could the fate and force to his will just because he was no Jedi

He alone wasn‘t enough to end the cycle, it would Need years, maybe it wouldn`t happen at all.

But that did`nt matter now

It was a promise to himself that just had been broken………but there was another one

Made me think of mane 6 & their hair experiences, so here's my headcanons:

Twi:

-always had it long bc of anxiety going to the hairdresser and getting a bad or incorrect haircut

-only trims her bangs ✨

PP:

-luvvvs changing up her hairstyles with her textured hair, box braids, twists, bubble braids, afro puffs, etc

-wears the most patterned, brightest, most colorful bonnet to bed

-uses shampoos & conditioners, along with hair butters with sweets smells like bubblegum, cotton candy, & gummy bear

-loves swirling her baby hairs into cute curls to frame her face

-impulsively cuts her hair & keeps going in between if she wants bangs or not 🎈

AJ:

-always had it long out of the annoyance of frequent hairdresser trips

-however absolutely luvvs the convenience of short hair and no more sweaty neck from long hair

-thick and coarse hair texture, might find a fleck of hay mixed in there

-uses homemade apple cider vinegar shampoo, doesn't think conditioner is necessary 🍎

RD:

-always cuts, bleaches, and dyes it themself & always impulsively

-their hair feels absolutely fried & dead

-uses 5-1 shampoo and nothing else ⚡

Flutta:

-always had it super long to 'hide' herself and bc she has a lot of anxiety going to a hairdresser

-only trims her split ends

-exclusively uses ~natural~ shampoo & conditioner with floral scents. additionally she uses hair oils to keep the wave in her hair & to keep it nice and soft and shiny and pretty 🦋

Rarity:

-Has a 12 step hair routine & uses luxury products that keep her hair feeling like silk

-puts in rollers & wears a bonnet to bed

-tries to go to the hairdresser, but winds up getting busy and resorts to cutting it herself💎

Let's Talk About Lekku

Do you ever think about twi'lek neck strain?

Do you think twis with higher-set lekku are considered prettier, but also find it a pain in the ass, like having a large chest in humans?

Do you ever think about voluntary partial lekku amputations?

(Check out this post, I like it muchly and it is why I subscribe to the lekku placement thing.)

Anyway, I saw this gif of Hera and got to thinking, with how tense she is, what the weight of her lekku might be doing to her.

Anyway, here's a bunch of thoughts:

Per @atagotiak (Tia) when I brought this up on discord:

They’ve probably evolved stronger neck muscles than humans. But then that doesn’t mean that neck strain isn’t a problem. Our own bodies are def inadequate sometimes Like the boob thing you mentioned Imagine being a Jedi or even worse, a non-sensitive athlete or something Twilek head-wrap debates. The ones with better necks and/or smalller/better positioned lekku think the restrictive ones are a pain and sometimes describe them the way we describe bras or corsets. The ones with more issues are like “no I need them” but also like taking them off at the end of the day. Also, if they are more restrictive, improperly fitted ones probably are torture Leaning into the bra analogy a lot here

Headaches, probably too, esp if you’re moving a lot Or a more decorative head thingy rather than a more functional one Could be close to an overly tight hairstyle too Or a heavy or elaborate one. Speaking as a person with long hair and a fondness for updos

There's a very good reason Bib Fortuna wraps his lekku around his shoulders like a scarf.

Really 'conservative' Twi'leks wear like... a sack that hangs from the shoulders that their lekku can sit in, like a Renaissance era snood, but it hangs from the shoulders instead of the head, to support the weight.

Hey, if higher tails are feminine do you think people push theirs higher/lower, even to an extent that maybe hurts a bit?

As mentioned, I stole the placement headcanon from a tumblr post, but yes, that sounds plausible.

Some very unpleasant communities (namely slave owners) insist on young girls wearing harnesses that yank them higher so they grow unnaturally high. IRL parallel would be waist training from prepubescence, or foot binding.

People with longer lekku definitely wear them over the shoulder sometimes, just going off of my experiences wearing a longer ponytail fall that starts from a similarly high part of the skull.

Dudes with four lekku are considered very macho and attractive but they have to deal with the worst strain and end up with just. Massive neck muscles.

Also I keep thinking about the thing I once heard about how the Megara character actors at Disney World all have chiropractors on Disney's dime because of how heavy the wig is

I imagine most twi’lek wouldn’t actually care, hair isn’t like lekku at all, but there’d be furious debate all the same. Braids are worse.

This is where I start thinking about lekku amputations like breast reductions. So much weight hecking up the spine that it's easier to just. Cut off the surplus, excess tissue. It does impact their ability to communicate, since so much of Ryl involves lekku language, so it's not a decision anyone makes lightly.

The doctors are all incredibly trained because if you cut too high you endanger brain tissue.

There are generally several feet of sensory lekku tissue before reaching the brainy bits, but the risk of infection is a nightmare.

I think those who get lekku reduction have like. Specialty accessories? Lightweight caps with tassels so the visual effect is still somewhat there, but the weight is gone.

Tia:

Having fun with gender presentation in general. Femmes embracing low lekku, butches rocking high lekku. Defiance re: what your role should be.

Not twi’leks but oh boy some togruta ladies have absurdly long lekku

Thankfully, theirs start from significantly lower on the head, and rest heavily on the shoulders and back.

Can you do mommy wanda or daddy Thor where little is feeling very ill on a very important day for mommy or daddy and little is feeling very anxious as they have a phobia of puking. But they don’t say anything not wanting to ruin anything or upset them as they have had bad experiences before and always got mad at when they were sick.

It was an important day for Thor. He has some prince duties to do and needs to take you with him because he doesn't want you to be alone.

You weren't feeling very well today. Your whole body felt like fire, your head was pounding and you feel like throwing up every second.

And that made you anxious because first you hate puking, it always scares you to know what's going to happen.

Second, you're scarred on how Thor would react when you tell him that you feel ill. Because today was very important to him and your Daddy before him always got angry and ignored you when you got sick on important things.

Thor got you in a beautiful dress and braided your hair. He clipped your paci clap on and kissed you. When he pulled away he saw your drowsy eyes.

"You okay Princess?" he asked and you nod, smiling.

" 'M fine, jus' bit sweepy" he nod and got in his armor.

When he was done he was standing by your chamber doors, holding his hand out for you. You got too quickly off the bed and felt dizzy, but brushed it off and took his hand.

Before Thor could walk out with you, you stopped and felt your tummy turn. You let go of his hand and run into the bathroom.

Thor quickly followed you and and smiles sadly when he saw you puking in the toilet, back arching up.

"Oh princess, you aren't feeling good," he said and got behind you, rubbing your back he waited until you were done.

"Sowwy Daddy, twied to hold it in" you said and he just hushed you, wiping your mouth and handing you some water.

"it's okay, but why didn't you told me?" he asked, brushing some lose hair from your sticky forehead.

" 'Cause chu had important things ta do an' I didn' wanted ruin it" you mumbled and looked down at your feet.

"That doesn't matter. When you don't feel good we will stay here" he said and you shook your head.

"No, you need ta go. 'S okay I stway here" you said. Thor smiled and picked you up, kissing your head.

"It's okay, princess. Daddy will take care of you" he said and laid you down on your bed.

He got next to you and popped your pacifier in your mouth. He began to hum a lullaby and was rubbing your back to soothe you to sleep.

"Everything is okay, I'm here and I won't leave you" he whispered and heard your light snores.

“Your hair is a mess. We can’t go with you like that.” “What’s wrong with my hair?”Wild frowned. Really, Wild’s hair is unkempt. It’s a complete mess and Legend hates that. “Wild. I do not care if I have to tie you to a chair—you are not walking out of my house like that.” “Legend, that’s a little overboard—” “Stay out of this, Twi.” “We can’t fix it, anyways.”Wild argued, crossing his arms. “I don’t have anything.” “Yeah? Well I do. Sit your ass down.” Wild pouted, but sat at the nearby table. He thinks his hair is fine.. Besides, Legend was complaining about going to this party anyways, why does it matter if they all look good or not?
