Dick Jones, The Phantom Reporter, and The Twelve in The Twelve, The Twelve: Spearhead, and Daring Mystery Comics 70th Anniversary Special and "The Proposal/The Night Was Alive" from Titanic: A New Musical
Every day from G-M-O-M ("Good morning, old man") To G-N-O-M ("Good night, old man") My telegraph sends its messages to ships at sea Sending out its Dit dit-dah-dit dah-dit Dit dit-dah-dit dah-dit Dit dit-dah-dit dah-dit...
I was young and shy, detached and sad Spent my days indoors, a home-bound lad Hardly spoke, few friends I kept myself to myself Quite alone
And the night was alive With a thousand voices Fighting to be heard And each and every one of them Connected to me
And my life came alive With a thousand voices Tapping out each word Like a thousand people Joined in a single heartbeat

Jedi Master by Twelve Titan's Music on Youtube.
Three songs compiled into one vid, I've lost count of how many times I've listened to this. It's such good music to hit deep emotional beats, and I love the artwork. I'll usually put this video on loop for a while to keep it on in the background while writing. The violins in this are just *chef's kiss*.
The music does have hints of star wars in it without being overwhelmingly star wars, if you know what I mean. The songs can easily translate into inspiration for other stories. I listened to it a lot while writing the various action scenes in Home Across the Universe, particularly the final ones against Gary in Bridge of Scars. It really set the mood and lent a heaviness to the confrontations and the sacrifices.

With Epic: The Musical coming to an end, I'd like to pitch my idea for a similar project called Legend: the Musical, based on the life of Herakles.
The basic plot is that it follows the life of Heracles through his birth, tragic family life, twelve Labors, and his ascension to Godhood with some deviations from the original myth not dissimilar from how Epic did it.
The biggest change, is that it will also be told through the point of view of Hebe, Goddess of Youth who eventually ends up married to Herakles. In the musical, she's Hera's handmaiden after she took her in when she was orphaned during the Titan War. Hebe falls in love with Herakles early on, but she doesn't get near him because she knows every time mortals love Gods it always ends tragically for the mortal. She says as much in her song, "From Afar".
A motif that would run through the musical is that of the serpent. For context: the first song in the musical would be "Serpent in the Cradle", that describes Herakles choking two Serpents to death as a baby, but his own mother Alkmene calls HIM the Serpent in the Cradle.
Throughout the play whenever Herakles is at his lowest, he gets reminded of how he is the Serpent in the Cradle. A poison that hurts everything he loves. A thing that should not exist.
The bid turning point in the musical would be the death of Herakles' wife and kids, where Hera infects him with madness and compels him to kill them. Hebe saves his life by descending from Olympus and giving the message that Herakles wasn't at fault, but she can't betray Hera's confidences so she can't say who did it. Nevertheless, Herakles gets assigned the Twelve Labors instead of Execution, and Hebe helps him however she can.
During the LAbors, Herakles and Hebe fall in love, but Herakles stays away, believing he is the Serpent in the Cradle and will bring ruin to her, echoing Hebe's song "From Afar" and it's all tragic and sad.
There's more too it, obviously, but if you'd like to hear more let me know.

Dionysus and/or Dionysus kids headcanons? If you do that, but it’s worth a shot:)
YES I LOVE DOING THIS, I HAVE SO MANY. thank you sooo much for this question dez!
okay so, Dionysus definitely cares about the campers and the camp itself.
It shows when he heals Chris Rodriguez from the bout of insanity, it shows when he grieves for Castor and asks Percy to look after Pollux.
I like to think his kids also care like that
they care so deeply for their close friends and family that it hurts sometimes
Dionysus can't show it normally anymore because he's seen so many hopeful kids get their spirits crushed.
he's also seen them die. countless times.
if gods could dream, Dionysus would be plagued with haunting nightmares.
Dionysus kids are really good with plants, but not as good as Persephone or Demeter kids
They're also the type of people who say "I listen to anything!" for music and they mean it.
They have the best outfits. Sorry, cabin 7, but their fits slay, hardcore.
that being said, Specifically Pollux has TERRIBLE style.
My OC Grayson's style is definitely also bad, he dresses similarly to his father (oof)
Dionysus leaves shirts and stuff in the cabin and somehow his kids are stealing them and wearing them better than him
He doesn't know where they get the style from
The cabin has all the best quality "Slime tutorials" of your favorite musicals. You do have to take some chores off their camp chore list to get the footage though.
can and will rant to you about Gender being a social construct while wearing clothes typically associated with the opposite gender
Grayson is genderfluid, and so while he definitely prefers masc terms and whatnot there are days he goes all out with dresses and skirts and he literally slays
Castor will definitely go all out with a skirt, but dresses are a different story.
Dionysus secretly encourages his kids to break the gender normality.
Dionysus is definitely also a hands on dad, He tries so hard to be there for his kiddos before they reach camp age
in my story, the twins are at camp as early as 9 years old, simply for two reason- hella powerful and bonding time with Grayson
but, Dio was there, giving the twins mother (I've named her Marryane Moncharm) any help she needed.
for Grayson it's a different story, so you'll have to read the story to see
but I digress
At camp, he's attentive with his children, listening to their issues, giving advice if they want it and a distraction if they need it.
He will, however, tell his children that silly drama is below him before helping.
Dionysus has a secret obsession with dad jokes
think Patton from sander sides, but way more disgruntled and gruff than typical.
Dionysus has made Zeus tell a dad joke without realizing it, and to this day, it is his best achievement ever.
Has a shirt that says "Dad jokes? I think you mean Rad Jokes." and will wear it unironically.
as for his actual cabin and how I picture it.... that's a whole different set of headcanons.
I've previously said I think the cabins got a major upgrade at the end of the titan war thanks to annabeth, I believe.
prior to that, Cabin twelve feels the most homely.
there's no big harsh lighting. only soft warm lighting.
the beds have the best bedding ever, like it's so cozy
lots of theatre memorabilia hanging up
uh, like that one guy from only murderers in the building, I forget his name but he had theatre stuff all over his apartment- like it was a lot
also, Dionysus definitely has like, his item of power hung on the wall in there because he Does Not Care™ and the only rule is no touching the insanely powerful pinecone stick (Thyrsus)
Cabin 12 to me is the physical embodiment of Noah Kahan's music if that makes sense.
there's a bunch of headcanons for you friend! I hope you enjoyed them!

head cannon ask 24 for all the o3 turts
24. 😷 - Reaction to be put into quarantine/ lockdown?
Let's see! I'll assume that they're all locked down together, and it's maybe somewhere in the middle of Season 3 (in Season 1 they were all used to being pretty much locked down because they hardly ever went out!). Also, are they actually sick, or is this just a precaution? Hmm... we'll go with it being a precaution!
First of all, they ALL will be playing board and card games with one another from time to time, and getting into plenty of fights about it! They also have jigsaw puzzle races (seeing who can put theirs together the fastest) and watch TV and movies together.
But separately...
Leonardo
At first he doesn't seem to mind and spends a lot of time practicing and meditating.
After a while of being stuck inside with his noisier brothers, though, he starts to get a bit on edge. He begins listening to music to drown it out, and finds himself meditating to movie soundtracks and discovers that listening to 80s hair metal actually helps him when he is training.
He starts cleaning the lair a lot. Whenever one of his brothers sets something down they usually can't find it a few minutes later, because Leo swooped in to "tidy up". He even tries to clean the kitchen while Michelangelo is cooking, which goes over poorly when he puts away Mikey's ingredients before he has a chance to use them.
Eventually, he realizes that he is causing more strife, and so goes back to meditating and practicing again... now singing along with KISS and Poison as he does his katas.
Michelangelo
Mikey has the hardest time adjusting. He wants to get out in the air, wants to ride his board, wants to have fun! He melodramatically claws at the walls at one point.
To give himself something to do, he decides to start cooking more. He gets April to leave bags of groceries outside the door to the lair for him, then he looks through his old cookbooks to find new and "interesting" things to make. Most of the time this turns out well.
He starts drawing and writing more, as well. He begins the first chapters of four different novels and finishes the rough drafts of seven issues of Turtle Titan comics.
He also tries to break several World Records -- like tallest Cheerio stack, loudest burp, most socks put on in 30 seconds, and most M&Ms eaten in one minute blindfolded and using chopsticks. Leo has to talk him out of trying to break the 1980 record of eating an entire bicycle in twelve days.
Donatello
Handles being locked down the best.
He has a lot of projects he wants to work on, and spends most of his time designing and building inventions. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot of new parts, so he starts taking apart "unused" items in order to build them. He gets on Mikey's bad side by disassembling a vintage stand mixer while doing this.
To make up for it, Don volunteers to be the "test subject" for all of the new recipes that Mikey is trying out. He only regrets it a few times, and actually begins to look forward to when Mikey brings him something new to have with his coffee.
When he's not working on his projects, he is usually to be found playing video games or reading.
Raphael
Like Leo, he starts practicing and working out more, but skips the meditating and music.
He starts to go stir-crazy pretty quickly, and wants nothing more than to hang out with Casey or go on patrol; but he knows better than to sneak out because it could cause more harm than good. He does call Casey a lot, though, to talk about what is going on out there in the city.
He plays video games with Donnie and Mikey to pass the time. Eventually he even lets Leo show him how to play chess, though it turns into "angry chess" fairly early into each match.
In an effort to both occupy his mind and be productive, he decides to do some crocheting. However, he has no yarn, so he gets out some old sheets and cuts them into long strips so he can crochet with that. He makes a rug out of it.
Splinter, meanwhile, is just trying to keep himself sane through all of this...

Author: @daysarestranger l Artist: @bienmoreau Posting on Friday, November 3
On the morning after Broughton Hall’s annual summer fête, the body of a local Baron’s son was found on the grounds of the estate, as lifeless and cold as the morning was warm. Having spent the summer together, member of the household staff Edward Munson was the first to be suspected. As for the Baron’s son, perhaps there was more to him than the Baron would have society believe. Decades later, Max Mayfield comes across the murder of Steven Harrington while researching topics for the second season of her hit true crime podcast. Along with her some-time engineer and full-time ex-boyfriend, Lucas, Max uncovers a story of two people that, entwined in secrecy and truths left unspoken, reaches out across history.

Title The Past is a Foreign Country
Original Release Date October 2nd 2023
[Intro music begins; fades]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: ‘The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.’ You know the quote, right? You might not know where it’s from, but you’ve heard of it. Heard people repeat it, with a shrug, lamenting the unfathomable manner in which us human beings used to behave, how we treated each other, what we used to believe. As if we, now—the enlightened—would never tolerate such things.
You and I know differently, of course.
[Door opening]
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Max, hi. Come in, come in.
MAYFIELD: Hey, Dustin, thanks. How you doing?
[Chairs scraping against the floor, a mug being set down on a table]
MAYFIELD: Oh, you’ve got a copy?
DUSTIN HENDERSON: ‘Course I do. A bunch. Everyone I know is getting one for Christmas.
MAYFIELD: You’ll be popular.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: [Snorting] Yeah.
[Pages turning]
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Here it is. [Clears throat] ‘I liked him, though. We all did … There was always something gentle about him.’ That’s nice, right? It’s what you’d want people to say about you.
MAYFIELD: Yeah. I guess you ’re right. That you were liked.
[Papers shuffling]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: It’s the opening line to a novel. The quote, that is. A good one, actually. ‘The Go-Between’, written by L.P. Hartley in nineteen fifty-three. I’ve always liked the book, not for the opener, but for the way it portrays how the passage of time distorts things. How one event can happen early on in your life, and you can know with such certainty how it went down, only to look back on it ten, twenty, thirty years later and see something entirely different.
[Door hinges squeaking open]
MAYFIELD: You’ve left it in the attic?
DUSTIN HENDERSON: I thought you were coming tomorrow!
MAYFIELD: Don’t try to make it sound like I’m not organized, you’re the one who doesn’t know what day of the week it is.
[Boxes shifting, being dragged across the floor]
DUSTIN HENDERSON: It’s one of these, I made sure … You know, I was always having a go at Mum for being such a hoarder, but apparently she was onto something.
MAYFIELD: It’s the hoarders of this world that keep me in a job.
[Some grunting, more shifting]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: The case I’ve been investigating for the past six months started in nineteen-twelve. Or, I suppose it started before that, but nineteen-twelve is when it really gets interesting.
The same year that Captain Scott and his expedition were beaten to the South Pole, all of them perishing on the return journey. The year that the Titanic struck an ice-berg in the middle of the Atlantic and sank, killing fifteen-hundred people. And the same year W.C. Handy published ‘Memphis Blues’, which went down in history as the first ever blues song.
On June ninth, nineteen-twelve, after the small village of Deeping Saint David’s annual summer festival, the son of the local Baron dies in the grounds of the family’s estate.
Steven Harrington’s body is discovered not long afterwards, and he is pronounced dead by a local doctor. His parents, Lord and Lady Avondale, immediately suspect foul play. The police are brought in to investigate and an arrest is made. Even with a cast of potential ne'er-do-wells, there was only ever one suspect pursued.
[Footsteps, something heavy being set on the ground]
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Let me give it a wipe.
[Blowing breath]
MAYFIELD: You got it? Oh, yeah, you’re right. I can’t believe the paintwork is still so good. It must be a hundred years’ old.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: One hundred and eleven years, three months and sixteen days. The date was written on the back.
MAYFIELD: [Whistle] It’s good, though. It looks just like the picture I saw.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: I said it did! That’s an aristocratic jawline if ever I saw one.
MAYFIELD: He was honorable. Like, officially.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: The Honorable Mister Steven Harrington. Does kind of have a ring to it I suppose.
MAYFIELD: Yeah. Handsome bastard.
[Laughter]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: Six months ago, I hadn’t heard of Steven Harrington, or Eddie Munson. I didn’t have any reason to, to be fair. It’s not a particularly well-known case, even locally. There are a handful of books that cover the key points in the local library, a few of the volunteers at the Harringtons’ ancestral home—now a bustling attraction for weekenders and families alike—know the reported account. Even fewer question it. Because why would they? Edward Munson was a thief who stole from the estate, killed Harrington when he was interrupted, and made off with the money. He was found by police the next morning, arrested, and made a full confession.
A straight-forward case, all tied up in a neat bow. What is there to question?
[Two sets of footsteps walking on gravel]
MAYFIELD: Have you visited yet?
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Broughton? No, not yet. Mum’s talked about going, but they want to make it a group thing, so, organizing, you know.
MAYFIELD: You sound dubious.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: No. Not for me. I don’t know what she’ll make of it, though. What if it just bums her out?
MAYFIELD: It won’t. I don’t think it will, at least. I think it’ll be cathartic. Enlightening.
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Well, you would say that. You’ve got a podcast to sell.
MAYFIELD: Hey!
[The thud of an object hitting its target]
DUSTIN HENDERSON: Ow!
[Outro music begins]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: Except the money is never found. Except the precise cause of Steven Harrington’s death is shrouded in mystery. Except, for such a high-profile victim, the story is buried in the back pages of the local newspapers.
It’s almost as if someone were trying to hide something. And nobody seems to have found that odd.
Until now.
[Music swells]
MAYFIELD, NARRATING: From Glad-Well House and Mayclair Productions, this is Undone, season two, An Act of Grace. I’m Max Mayfield. Let’s get into it.
[Music swells; fades]

Broadway Divas Tournament: Round 1D
Two-time Tony winner Victoria Clark (1959) is one of our remaining soprano leading ladies (and a beloved character actress to boot). Winning for both The Light in the Piazza (2005) and Kimberly Akimbo (2023), Vicki is also a trained opera soprano and has performed various concerts like Dido and Aeneas and has over a dozen directing credits to her name. Other shows she has acted in include Cinderella (2013), Titanic (1997), and Sister Act (2011). She is the second-oldest performer to win Best Leading Actress in a Musical, and frankly, she should be the oldest.
Once known as the Broadway actress who had never appeared on Broadway, Julia Murney (1969) finally made her debut in 2005 in Lennon (a show that lasted all of 49 regular performances). She returned again to better success in a seven-month Wicked stint in 2007. Her off-Broadway career is vast and varied with shows like The Wild Party (Lippa, 2000), and she has appeared in the Funny Girl (2002), Chess (2003), and Hair (2004) Actors' Fund Concerts. She is currently directing a regional production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

"Vicki Clark, my beloved. If you don't think sopranos can be hilarious character actresses, you haven't met Vicki. From her wildly fun Smitty in How to Succeed... to her absolutely gorgeous Piazza, she has the fucking range. Also, I just love a tall slender woman who's out here wearing cute little halter tops and midriff-baring skirt sets as a sixty-something woman. I have seen Kimberly Akimbo twelve times as I'm writing this, and I'll see it again. She's such a delight, and I love her so much. Best Beggar Woman, bar none."

"Ah, Julia Murney. An early crush in my musical theatre life. I don't care about Wicked, but I do care about a late-thirties Elphaba. And I still enjoy The Wild Party every now and then. This woman (and Vicki Lewis) is the reason I sat through that Between the Lines off-Broadway show twice in 2022 despite generally having a miserable time. The things I do for broads with broad voices."
