Hi hello yes everyone should read Shoulder The Sky. It's on my rec list and I have every installment downloaded for offline reading ngl so if you like excellent, descriptive writing, clone trooper antics, and the 212th I highly recommend this one.
Also I would absolutely fucking die for Stitch, Helix, and Needle thanks. 🥰
A scene that will only be referenced in the next chapter, but I was overcome with the urge to write it out anyway:
Boil catches Stitch's entry onto the bridge out of the corner of his eye.
He elbows Waxer, grinning. The kid's got a pair of crutches under one arm, and they'd both noticed the way the Commander had been leaning on the holotable, stubbornly ignoring the General's not-so-subtle disapproving look and the chair Waxer had fruitlessly nudged into place behind him.
This is going to be a show.
Stitch scans the bridge, eyes narrowed, until he catches sight of the Commander. He walks forward, stopping a few respectful feet behind him, and--
waits.
Thirty seconds pass.
Then a minute.
More and more eyes are landing on him. Poorly-muffled giggling blooms across the bridge.
"Hi, Stitch," Waxer says cheerfully.
"Hi, sir," Stitch says politely, his gaze flickering sideways in acknowledgement before returning to Cody's back.
Cody's shoulders slump.
Eventually, the holocall ends. General Kenobi is the first to turn around.
"Hello, Stitch," he says, smiling faintly. "Can I help you?"
"No thank you, sir. I'm waiting for the Commander, sir."
There's only so long Cody can avoid turning around, and he knows it. With a long, deep sigh, he turns.
"Hi, sir," Stitch says brightly, and thrusts the crutches forward. "You forgot these."
"Those aren't mine," Cody says immediately. "I left mine in my office. I'll grab them after."
"These are yours," Stitch says patiently. "I put a sticker on them when Helix first gave them to you. See?"
He points. Cody leans forward, searching despite himself--
His expression flattens out.
"It's a lightsaber," Stitch says helpfully. "Needle made it. He said you'd forgotten your crutches before, and I thought a sticker would be helpful for you to remember which are yours. Helix says taking initiative is a good thing."
"I... see."
He still doesn't take them.
Stitch sighs. "Is this because Helix yelled at you for kicking droids again, and you don't want to prove him right?"
"No," Cody grinds out, and Waxer muffles a wheezing laugh in Boil's shoulder. General Kenobi's expression is carefully blank.
"Is it because--"
"They're uncomfortable," Cody sighs. He lowers his voice, conscious of their delighted audience, and there's a ripple of coughing and clearing of throats as people turn back to their assigned tasks. "They-- my shoulders keep cramping. I need to be able to fire a blaster, Stitch. I'm minimizing my movement as much as possible, I promise."
"Uncomfortable," Stitch echos, looking baffled. "Why didn't you say so, sir? Give me-- ten minutes, please. I can fix that. I'll be back soon. Can you sit down in the meantime, please?"
"I'll make sure he does, Stitch," the General interjects, and Stitch nods seriously.
"Thank you, sir," he says, and nods at them both before vanishing out the door.
"You're enjoying this far too much, sir," Cody hisses, as Kenobi carefully helps him settle into the long-ignored chair.
"My dear Commander," Kenobi says, laughing, "I'm simply glad it's not me this time."
Cody's glare could incinerate a Hutt. The General remains cheerfully unaffected.
When Stitch returns, he brings with him a painstakingly adjusted pair of crutches. Layers of cotton batting is tied carefully to the pads, and the grips have been adjusted a few levels upwards.
"Try these, please," he says, handing them over.
Cody reluctantly accepts them. "All right. Later, when I--"
Stitch is looking at him very expectantly.
He sighs. "Yes, Stitch."
He levers himself to his feet and takes a few halting steps. Boil watches, fascinated, as astonishment flickers across his expression before it settles into a quiet resignation.
"This-- is better," he mutters. "Very much so."
Stitch beams. "Thank you, sir! And you'll make sure to use them until you're cleared?"
"Yes, Stitch."
"And you won't forget about your follow-up tomorrow? You can have a juice box. Or a pudding cup. You can choose. Needle got some."
Waxer coos. Cody glares at him.
("That's KP duty for you," Boil whispers. "Just you wait.")
"I won't, Stitch."
"Good. Thank you, sir. And- Helix told me to tell you that you- that you're lucky you got me and not him, sir, because he'd be, um- a damn sight louder, sir, because he's got no patience for- for idiots, sir."
A beat.
"That's from him, sir," Stitch repeats anxiously.
Cody sighs. "That's all right, Stitch. Well done."
Stitch brightens immediately, rocking back on his heels. "I'll save you a chocolate pudding cup, sir, if you like. Those ones are the best, so they tend to go fast."
A smile flickers across Cody's face. "Thank you. I'd appreciate it. You're dismissed."
Stitch salutes-- shiny little tubie, small gods-- and vanishes out the door.
Kenobi has given up the game entirely, now, and is grinning broadly. Cody turns on him immediately.
"Stop that."
"Stop what, my dear?"
"The thing you're doing with your face."
"Smiling?"
"Smugly. Yes."
"I'm just pleased with our medics' professionalism, Commander."
"I've got two dozen witnesses to that for the next time you try to dodge them."
"Noted. Can I have your pudding cup?"
"No."

IT WAS SAID THAT DURING THE NIGHT OF YOUR BIRTH THE SUN WAS AT ITS HIGHEST POINT AND FULLEST BLOOM.
Its rays buried humanity under a blanket of heat and devastation. Fortunetellers would wax on and on of the disasters you would soon bring upon the world.
That was your experience in your first life.
Many could only wish of being born to a worldwide pop-star, but to you it was a reality. You resented those that vied for your place. How could they romanticize such a life when every single day was torture for you. Some predicted you to be world-class singer before your first cry. People knew you before you could even speak to them. Everyone already idolized you, expected you to do great things before you’d even learn the alphabet.
The pressure had already been insurmountable the moment you took your first breath.
Your second life was terrifying to say the least. It didn’t matter that way you died before, just the thought of experiencing the same motions again frightened you to your bones.
And so you pretended. A shining star to a dim moon that barely reflected any light. Ever so meticulously making sure none knew of your so called genius. The last thing you wanted was to be labeled a prodigy even with the more lax nature of your new family.
But art will always call to you, a sunflower drawn to its source of energy.
You kept everything as lowkey as you could, reconnected with contacts you knew would keep their mouth shut, and even kept your identity away from prying eyes.
To the world you were just this masked musician that was oddly reminiscent of their previous luminescence.
You were satisfied with that life. Fame wasn’t something you agonized about or wished for. But now that veil had been taken away, it’s as if everything was crashing down yet again. Emails, messages and articles about your success as a young star was beginning to show its true weight. Stress began accumulating further and further as you had distanced yourself from your family and threw yourself to work as a distraction.
On one such ‘productive’ night, you were met with a face you didn’t expect.
“Aqua-niisama! Nice seeing you here. Thought you would be staying at that director’s place for the night—“
“Why didn’t you tell me? Didn’t you promise to tell me everything? Don’t you trust me?”
Aquamarine had this knack of being utterly terrifying without meaning to. He had the talent to frighten at a glance. His beautiful sea-like eyes turn dull, murky. Capturing all the light, and drowning you in the same pressure your old family would throw you under repeatedly.
With his arms caging you between his form and the wall, you knew there was no escaping this. So in spite of the crippling anxiety, you gulp it do
“I wasn’t confident enough with my skills. Your mom is the Ai Hoshino and Ruby is so talented I—“
He lowered his face, nestled it right beside yours. You could swear he was breathing in your scent. “You looked anything but ‘not confident’ up on the stage.”
“Liar.” His hands then moved from the wall to encircle themselves around your body; his face to your the top of your head and nose between your hair. Yet even in this tight embrace you still felt chills down your spine. “I scare you don’t I? You were worried that I would stop you like I did with her.”
“Yes.”
“I’m sorry. I’m a terrible brother.”
“No, I understand you. You just wanted to keep her safe and I—“
“Not for that.” He pushed himself away for a couple of moments, and for that short amount of time you were ashamed to say that you felt utterly relieved until— “This.”
— he kissed you.
You’ve seen Aqua kiss Akane before. Both on and out of camera. You respected their relationship despite knowing of how unhealthy it truly is. They’d eventually break up and things would go smoothly you thought.
Pfft, as if. You knew shit would hit the fan. You were just too much of a coward to get in his way. Akane could suffer for all you care, she chose to date your psychopath of an adoptive brother anyways.
But you didn’t expect him to fall for you.
He never seem interested. Despite your mother telling you time and time again that Aqua cared deeply about you, you just couldn’t see it.
He was the deep, dark ocean. You were at the highest point of the sky, sailing across the cosmic sea. There was no way you two could meet eye to eye much less love normally.
You did the only thing your body could muster at the moment and slapped him.
“You’re right. You are a horrid brother.”
As you ran away, sobbing, Aqua couldn’t help but feel aroused.
Oh, how charming you looked with tears streaking down your cheeks.
Tumblr media
It felt like hours when you first started crying nonstop. You never cried in your original life. You had no time or energy to. You never expected that your second, mundane life would be the one that shattered you.
And shattered you it did. You felt sorry for the future you who had to wash off all the tears and snot on your pillows and bedsheets, but it had to be done. You knew if you didn’t let it all out that day it’d happen sooner or later at a more inconvenient time.
Aqua only entered once to leave a tissue box and water bottle before he left. The sounds of typing outside of your room never ceased however, indicating he never actually went too far.
Ruby arrived far earlier than you expected as well. Her schedule that day should have had her busy til midnight but you had the feeling Aqua told her what he’d done.
“Ruby-nee—“
“Ssshhh…” Ruby silenced you with a kiss to the forehead.
“Why would he do that— he - he has a girlfriend.” You stuttered and hiccuped throughout your speech, still crying as hard as you did back then.
“Do you really think he loves her?”
“No.”
“But that isn’t what you’re worried about isn’t it?”
Ruby brought you up to her shoulder, massaging your back in a circular motion. “Trust me, nothing will change. He loves you very much. We both love you. I’m just sorry we didn’t make you feel comfortable enough to share your passion with us. You’re amazing [Y/N] in every shape, way or form. You don’t have to be the brightest to the world, you have no obligation to.”
“To us you’re already perfect.”
You never knew she had the capability to be this comforting in a mature sort of way. She always radiated a loud vibration; refreshing most of the time, though it did get tiring.
Never have you been afforded this kind of consolation. It was always you against the world. Being reminded that there are other stars in the sky beside you gave you a strange sense of solace. An odd variety of relief borne out of being insignificant in the sky.
“This incident just means he loves you in a different way alright?”
“But what about Aka-neesama?”
“I’ll talk to him about it.”
Tumblr media
“You should thank me. I left them all vulnerable for you.” Aqua spoke, his right hand quickly moved across his laptop’s keyboard and his left held a can of Monster.
“You felt it too didn’t you?” Ruby exhaled. It took a while to get you to lull you into sleep; a necessary step to have the conversation she was partaking in.
“Yeah. . . I did.” Aqua took a sip from his drink, his starry eyes laser focused on the recording of your performance. He had set up several fan accounts and gotten footage from all sorts of angles. He couldn’t wait for your next stage. May it be from sheer excitement or the caffeine in his blood, but the man was absolutely shaking all over over in anticipation. “We have a second chance, don’t mess things up.”
“I should be saying that to you. Break up with Akane by next week. And be careful with how forward you are with your feelings.”
“Already done.” Aqua held up his phone without breaking moving his head at all, in his phone were a few texts between him and a panicking Akane. “and no promises”
Ruby sighed one last time that night, leaning her head back to your bedroom door. “. . . You were right.”
“Hm?”
Both of her eye’s stars hard turn tar black, a blush covered her cheeks.
“[Y/N] does look enticing when they cry.”

I think I need to know everything you have on Lord Felix lol
everything…. OH WELL UR WISH IS MY COMMAND HAVE LORE DUMP‼️
Ik you asked for Felix himself but his lore tangles with another oc of mine, Kaiden, so you get a lil bit of her lore too ✨
(uh tw mentions of death? And torture? And brutal murder? Js mentions tho not going into detail)
Felix BonaDea was a nobleman from the house of BonaDea, known for their healing magic. His mother, Gianna BonaDea, was human, and his other mother, Amaryllis, was a fairy. Now, for most of Nialon (the country this all takes place in), it's quite normal for humans and non-humans to make bebehs (lmao), but this rule does not apply to nobility. He did get everything he could want, including gender surgery (bc its MY WORLD and i say TRANS RIGHTS), as Gianna (and her husband Antonio) was not heartless. She also allowed Amaryllis a small secluded estate for her to live in. Despite this, Felix was shunned in life, and had no chance at being anything of utmost importance to... anyone, really. Or so he thought.
One day, he was walking through town (glamoured with a trick Amaryllis taught him), and stopped by a tavern popular for guards and guards-in-training. He met someone there who would make him feel less lonely, and that person was Kaiden Evania (WOOP WOOP *sitcom applause*), another alienated child shunned because of her curse. They got to chatting, and clicked immediately, pulling a prank on some bullies (>:3). Once Felix heard she was forced to be here in the capital, Vespar, because of the draft, he resolved to learn how to fight, so that she wouldn't feel lonely, as he always had. (His family let him btw they thought it’s good he’s doing smth with his life)(Amarillys did NOT agree but Felix convinced her to let him go)
The years went by, and despite Felix's nobility, he and Kaiden made an unstoppable team. They had succeeded in 'The Hunt', an annual challenge hosted by a different noble House every year. Afterward, both attended the Aquamarine Ball, which was an event where graduating guards would learn of their placement, be in the city, or a House, or the outskirts of town. While at the Ball, Felix and Kaiden were approached by Lloyd Santhuff, the leader of the Azari—a warrior unit that only take the best of the best. Lloyd was interested in the pair, and offered the both of them a place there. They accepted, and after a couple more years of training, were full-fledged Azari. They were put under the (relatively loose) command of Saffron, another fairy.
They took the Oath, which bound their souls together and let them think as if they were mere exensions of each other, but Felix thought it was bullshit and just for show. The pair (mostly Felix, to be fair) made close friends with their unit, and all was well.
They were good. The best, even. But then on one mission investigating the Nikasa, Felix and Kaiden were captured. After a few weeks of torture, Felix was brutally murdered and Kaiden rescued.
~~~
That should have been the end, right? Wrong. Felix now lives in Kaiden's brain, as the oath they had taken worked a little too well considering Kaiden's Deathless curse and Felix's enhanced half-fairy magic. He tries his best to help Kaiden through her grief, but it's a hard battle.
~~~~
phew hope that sated ur curiosity! And a little ps: Felix HATESSSSS being called “Lord” or anything like that, he finds it pretentious.

One more update before you meet Heimdall again tw for dead people including children again (it's a reoccurring theme at this point)
„Ay, miss, I know ya!“ A drunk Vanir man speaks, you don’t recognize him from your memories, only by his secrets – he broke his brother’s toy when he was six, he had killed the same brother during the war, so the enemies wouldn’t capture and torture him. “Yer the Freyr’s girl!”
“Yes.” You nod, no need to tell him otherwise. In the background and musician is singing a dwarven song, that mentions your ex-husband with a rich amount of cleverly worded sarcasm and disgust. You have to admit the dwarves one thing, they compose bangers.
“No, yer not anymore. Yer an Aesir wife now!” He gives you a very ‘I’m a good boy for knowing this’ look that indicates that he doesn’t mean this as a threat. He’s probably just trying to piece together what you are doing here in his drunk mind.
“Not, anymore.” Saying it hurts, but you don’t let it show.
“Is that so? Freyr’ll be thrilled to hear that!” He lifts his mug in a cheer.
“Don’t tell him. I don’t know yet, if I was not followed.” Again, you tell him the true. Why not, when no lie would do any better, (also he’s definitely not remembering this conversation tomorrow.) “You can keep a secret for me, can’t you?”
He laughed. “Of course, miss!”
‘Miss. You let drunks disrespect you often?’ Athena asks. You ignore her. Though, you have to think about how Heimdall would react to the drunk man, Freyr would pat his shoulder and laugh, call you miss himself, filling the word with love. Heimdall would probably just kill him.
“Ya ought to be careful, tho.” He puts a hand on your shoulder, you remove it. “Thor’s lurkin’ around.”
“Thor?” You turn to face the man for the first time, one of his ears is missing and a scar runs down his cheek from it, splitting his upper lip. “Thor is here?”
“Ye, the village by the valley. Last I heard he was in a mead hall, drinkin’ himself blind!”
You stand up. “Thank you. The waiter lied to you, he found the ring and sold it to the silver haired merchant by the port, write it down and go there in the morning, she still has it.”
The man doesn’t seem to quite grasp the sentence, as he watches you leave. You run out of the village not minding the looks the present mortals give you, nor the words of Járnsaxa, her spirit suddenly feels heavy.
‘What are you planning to do? Thor can’t help you save your child! If he’s drunk, he might as well kill you, thinking it will please his daddy!’
You exit the village, running across the path. You dodge the Aesir soldier, that tries to stop you and push your palm to his chest. “Die.” Your touch sends him to Valhalla. He should have known better.
‘Listen to me! I’ve loved him! But he is dangerous!’
This time it’s Vanir guerrilla that gets in your way. You don’t kill him, he is not attacking.
“Miss! You don’t want to go there!”
You push him away. “I know!”
‘Y/N!’ Járnsaxa whispers. ‘Be carefull…’
You just see the first sight of the village when the blast happens, giving you just enough time to create a shield to protect you. The ground behind you shakes and the trees fall, splinters and dirt flies all around you.
‘As always, he drinks and then he destroys.’ Járnsaxa says, helpfully.
‘He reminds me of the Titans of my world, mindless beasts of enormous power. We have confined them long ago. You should consider that.’ Athena is also helpful.
You continue running forward, the village as mortals flee from it. Clouds appear in the skies, covering the world in darkness. You hear thunder before the lightings come and rain falls down. Dirt under your bare feet turns to mud, you almost slip but hold yourself straight.
“IT HAS BEEN LONG SINCE I HAD A WORTHY OPPONENT!” Thor’s voice too sounds like a thunder. You feel Járnsaxa’s spirit disappear into the marble, leaving you alone with Athena.
“You know how you offered me to fight the Spartan God-Killer?” You tell her. “I might need some help now.”
Athena laughs. ‘Oh, Y/N, I just wanted to bait him into killing you – to make him feel bad.’ You knew it!!
“Try anyway?” You take your spear off your back. It would be no help if he tries to attack you but it feels better to have something.
Finally, you reach what remains of the village – which is not much beside rumble – and in the middle, where the square used to be, you see not only Thor but the Giant you were looking for. Laufey, Týr had called her. Red haired Laufey with strange axe, that everyone in this damn realm had sworn to never see.
The said axe is now in the air, stopping Mjölnir mid-flight. No weapon you know of could do that. You don’t even realize that you have stopped in shock, staring as the weapons return to their owners and they charge at each other.
“Thor, wait!” You scream. “I need her to save Bylgja!”
He does not react, likely not hearing you. But the Giant does, she gives you a side-eye and continues the fight. And worse, she cuts Thor, as he swings Mjölnir too high and she dodges it, swinging her axe under his arm and tearing his tunic.
You are not even sure on which side you are at the moment. You want to see her hurt and crushed but – if you do, your daughter will always remain soulless.
‘Are you joining or not?’ Athena asks.
“Yes.” You say it more surely than you feel. “I need her defeated but not dead.”
‘Then you could as well defeat them both.’
Thor laughs, when he sees the blood pour out of his wound. “Attagirl!” He throws the hammer at the backing Giant.
It does not land. Her axe meets his hammer in the air, a wave of air and rumble sending you a few steps back, as you shield yourself, dust covering your gaze. When you see again there's a frozen lighting in a middle of a crater, the surrounding houses are gone, along with everyone hiding inside of them. Thor and Laufey had moved.
You follow the destruction to find them, dodging just in time as the cursed axe flies the same way, followed shortly after the hammer. When you finally see them Laufey is cornered by laughing Thor. You don't wait to know if she would save herself or not.
"Thor!" You call his name with Jarnaxas' voice, but he does not seem to hear, swinging at Laufey, who dodges. You feel Athena's grip at your hands. She throws the spear, piercing his arm before he can land the hit.
Laufey crawls from under him, swinging her axe in return and about to hit his back, but he is quick to turn around, punching her, as he uses the motion to throw his hammer your direction.
You dodge, but he sees you.
"You!" He laughs, pulling your spear from his flesh and throwing it your direction. "Missed a bit here."
"Thor!" You warn, as Laufey uses the opportunity to hit him.
"Rat." He keeps laughing when she buries her axe in his thigh. Limping only the slightest bit.
"Go." Athena says, rushing you towards the spear in front of you, you can feel her satisfaction the moment is your hands close on it. Immediately, she drags you into a position to charge.
Despite his injuries, Thor is winning against Laufey, swinging his hammer at her, as if a red stream of blood was not pouring down his leg.
You rush him, hitting him in a way that stops him from hitting her. "You-" Thor is too shocked to react, and Laufey takes that opportunity to attack him. You parry her axe with your spear, she is strong, but you do not allow it to move an inch. You push against each other, surprise flickers in her eye when you managed to move her backwards.
You feel Athena's touch at your feet, not understanding at first, but letting her guide you. She- You land a kick to Laufey's bend knee, sending her to the ground. You would not have expected Athena to be such a snake, but then, not all gods of war can be Týr, you guess.
Thor takes that opportunity to attack.
NO!' Athena warns. 'Back off!' It's too late, Thor already holds your spear in his huge hand, sweeping you off your feet before you get the idea to drop it. 'Don't!' You fall on your feet, keeping your balance, just for Laufey to drag you down, crawling back on her feet. But she is not stable enough to parry Thor's kick that sends her back to the ground.
For a moment, laying at Thor's feet, looking up at him, seeing him as he is drunk and amused with bloodlust in his eyes, you are afraid of him in a way you should not be - not of your brother-in-law.
"You back off!" Thor kicks you aside, his boot sending a sharp pain through your hip. He throws something at you - your spear - or what's left of it. He had broken it in two!
You hear him laugh as he parries the axe Laufey threw at him from the ground and ruins her attempt to get up again. Lighting flickers in his eyes and under his feet. She backs away from him, still on the ground.
'Grab it!' Athena moves your hands faster than you realize what she means, holding the remains of your spear, holding it like dual blades. She does not seem concerned by the loss of the weapon in the slightest. 'He is not looking.'
You crawl up on your feet, he is fully focused on Laufey now, she is speaking in her language, either a prayer or a spell you don't know. She dodges his attack, rolling to a side. You blink and suddenly he has her axe flying inch away from his face, laughing almost madly. To your shock he lets her get up, his gaze fully focused on her.
You take the chance and move, your hands each holding a part of your sear, you bury them into Thor's neck from each side. At that moment, Athena chants a spell, her voice like a whisper in your ear, somehow louder than thunder, but still so quiet that you can barely hear it. The blades glow gold right before they cut through his skin, the golden lightings sparking around them, they sink deep enough to cause him to stumble and fall to his knees, allowing him to do nothing but groan before he passes out.
You have no time to wonder about what had happened, before Laufey is charging at you. "THAT WAS MY KILL!" She has a fury in her voice that is nearly laughable - she being angry at you! You parry her attack with your double.. spear, the freezing axe is so close to your hands you can feel the cold tingling against your fingers and it's getting worse the longer you hold the stance.
It's her who tries to kick you off balance this time. You dodge it and as soon as you do, she charges at you again. You parry it again and charge yourself. She parries it. It repeats again and again, the fight seems endless.
“Fight, while I cast.” You command Athena in the language only the dead understand and luckily she does not complain, fighting off Laufey, as you focus on finding the right spirit and the right words for the spell.
There's a spirit near her, the same one as the last time. She knows the voice trick but not the new one. "Show yourself!" You command, letting your left hand run past her and find the spirit there, suddenly in a flesh, a Giant you don't recognize, but she does. You can see fear in her eyes.
"No-" She gasps, but she keeps her eyes on you. "It's not real!"
But her attention slips ever so slightly, not able to concentrate with a lost loved one in the corner of her eye, she gives you the opportunity to strike, sending her to the ground.
You fall on her, sitting on her chest to force her to finally stay down and stop fighting. She looks up at you with a mixture of surprise and anger, before attempting to strike you with her axe. You catch her hand.
"Stop!" You breathe out, the fight was.. exhausting you have to admit. "I'm not going to kill you."
"I'm going to kill you!" She hisses back, fighting with all her strength to get your hold off her arm.
You sigh. "Freeze." Your hands instantly run cold, cold like a freezing body left out on Niflheim. You can see her skin turning white, blue and then black under your touch until she finally drops the axe.
Not knowing a better way to disarm someone whose weapon returns to them at a whim, you keep her hands like this, freezed, held up over her head. If they fall off it's on her, (they won't but she would deserve it).
"You should thank the Norns." You say. "I need you alive."
"Why?!" She spits back.
You are tempted to tell her 'Oh, don't you know that Odin likes redhead Giants?' but just as you think that, you are horrified, that something like that could come to your mind. So instead, you spill the truth. "Because, apparently, only your child could break the fucking curse you put on my baby!"
She... she doesn't laugh or scoff or makes any other show of how much she doesn't care. That's a surprise. "You should've just let me take Týr." She says instead.
"And? What do you think would become of me and my baby if I did?!" Now you are the angry one. "You cannot pin this on me! You killed my baby!"
She looks away, dodging your gaze. "Why would I care? You are all cradle-burners."
"No." You find your hold on her hands being tighter than necessary. "Maybe Thor is. And Odin. But not me or my baby." You.. do not want to think about whenever or not you had burned hypothetical or non-hypothetical cradles at some point in the past year. You certainly did not before she had cursed you. What happened after was all for Bylgja.
"And your rotten tooth husband? I've seen what he had done on Svartalfheim!"
"You have no right to speak!" You snap back. "Look around. Do you want me to count all the babies you have killed just by this fight? Because I can! I can feel them all!’"
She does lift her head to look around and you move back a little so she can see properly the burning ruins around you. The destruction she had caused.
"No- That was not me- That was him!"
You jerk your hand holding on her arms, making her body move to a side, so she can get a better view of the ruins and corpses spread around you.  "Look again, Laufey. I see plenty of people who died by your hand here, some children even, no cradles though, they broke when the roofs started to fall off I guess." She shuts her eyes. It angers you. You pin her arms to the ground and move one hand to her head, forcing her lids open with your fingers. "No. Look."
You can feel them, all the dead spirits, crying, begging for mercy that couldn’t save them now. "Raise!" You command them, making those in the closest ruins move. Some show up immediately, some have to move through the rumble. "Come here." There are children, grown men and women and even elders, all coming close to you. They are disfigured, some burnt, some not. Some have no apparent cause of death showing.
"No." She breathes out. You let go of her lids and she shuts her eyes tight again. "Please stop. I was wrong, I get it."
You consider making some of the dead children touch her, so she has to feel them, just like you have to. Knowing that they died needlessly because of this fight. But then she opens her eyes again and this time they are full of sadness and regret instead of fire, looking at you. "I'm sorry for cursing your child.. please if you won't kill me, stop this. Let me go."
You don't know what to say or do, so you just sit in silence for a few moments, weighing all the options in your mind. This was what you wanted but-
"If I do, you will run. Hide from Thor and Odin. I don't care if you go back to your precious realm or whatever. Just get away from his armies and have the damn kid that will save my baby girl!" Tears drop from your eyes at the last words and fall down on her body.
"I will." She says. "I promise."
"Good." You stand up, letting go of her hand. "You are released." You tell the dead and they immediately fall to the ground, their bodies limp once again.
She does follow her promise, getting up, taking her axe and turning to leave until she sees Thor.
"Don't." You warn her.
"He killed so many of us." She says.
"Yeah, wanna hear the joke?" You roll your eyes. "I used to feel sorry for your kind, but after meeting you? I think you very much deserved it."
Heimdall, Thor and Baldur grand adventure (a part of Heimdall x wife reader series)
Only first part of this is reader pov. But I encourage people who want to read about Heimdall and his brother (or just Heimdall with baby) to read it anyway.
When she is born, there is nothing but uncanny silence. Not cries, no cooing, no laugh of the Norns. Only Eir's heartbreaking pity:
"I’m sorry, my lady."
You take the little body from her, still warm and yet with no sign of life, red mark where the cord tangled around the small neck.
"Don't be." You whisper.
You place a kiss on her forehead and breathe life to her with your magic. There's no cry, when she opens her eyes and yet you feel relief - at least until you look carefully and see the hollowness her eyes possess. You could save a body but not the soul. That's giant magic - one that they never shared with others.
"Don't tell a word of this." You say to Eir.
And to your surprise she does not protest. "As you wish, my lady."
"Don't even think about it in front of my husband. Avoid his eyes when you can." You press her further.
"Lady Y/N," She hesitates. "He will know in time."
"I know this just.. be quiet until then, will you?" You cradle your child, pulling her close to your chest. Despite the tragedy of her birth, the love you feel for her is overwhelming.
"I will." Eir assures you, sadness never leaving her voice.
"You can let him in then." You smile, prompting her to do the same, she should at least pretend to be happy in front of others.
The door opens before she can touch the handle. A second more of waiting would have been too much for your husband, apparently. He doesn't even look at Eir, storming to your side. You can hear someone laughing at him from the door.
You give him a smile, showing him your child. “It’s a girl.”
He looks at her with lifted browns. “Why is she ugly? That can’t be after me.”
For a moment you are not sure if he is being asshole on purpose or had never seen a newborn child before. Both were very possible.
“When was the last time you looked in a mirror?” You snap back. He can’t let you have a nice moment, can he? And yet you are secretly happy that he doesn’t see her lack of soul. You couldn’t care less that he is an asshole, as long as he doesn’t notice – as long as he doesn’t do anything to you or her.
After days of arguing you name her Bylgja after his dead aunt-mother. It amuses her, but you don’t tell your husband that – he still didn’t get used to you casually conversing with the dead.
Your choice of name does not amuse Odin, but he does allow it in the end. You have to argue with him over it. Heimdall would rather just choose a different name and sulk, then admit to his father he disagrees with him.
He often checks on her, even returns to your home while he is on patrol to do so. But if he notices that something is wrong, he does not say anything.
It takes him a month.
.
.
.
You wake up with the feeling that something is wrong. Your eyes shoot open, looking towards the crib. It’s empty and so is your husband’s side of the bed. But there’s someone else present. Since Bylgja was born the ghost of Heimdall’s aunt-mother – her namesake – had followed her everywhere, but now she stands here by your bed, along with the ghost of Odin’s first wife.
“Where’s she?” You ask them.
‘Heimdall-.’ One of them says. You wrap a coat around you, not bothering to dress up properly. ‘Odin-’ You had feared that answer. You hurry barefoot out of the cabin and the ghosts follow you, their words sounding after you. ‘Why would you not tell him?’ ‘Foolish, girl.’ ‘Odin will-’
“I know, shut up.” You curse having to live up on the wall, as you run down the hill faster than you ever did before, dirt and stones clinging to your feet.
“Y/N-“
Startled at the sight of you, Nana tries to stop you in front of the Great Lodge. You push her away, running through the door and further until you reach the All-Father’s study.
In the silence the Lodge provides in the night you can hear the voice of your husband. “-not cry and when I look in her future, I cannot see anything.”
You stop by the door, you had feared this day would come, but you never dared to think about it long enough to prepare yourself for it, because if you did, he might have noticed. You have no idea what you will say once you walk in.
“Of course, you can’t. The child has no soul, am I right, lass?” Odin raises his voice at the last sentence. “Come in.”
You open the door to the sight of the All-Father carrying your daughter and your husband, looking at you with a pained expression that soon turns to anger.
“What did you do?!”
He does not wait for you to answer and in a second he is at your side, his hands forcing your head up, so you have to look in his eyes. You try to push him off, but he won’t let you, his gaze shines with magic as he runs through your mind, forcing you to remember the giant's curse and the Norns’s prophecy, as well as your conversations with the All-Father.
All that you avoided thinking about so hard now flashes through your head. ‘The Norns also said that I will be cursed to give birth to a dead child-‘ ‘The child you carry shall be born dead-‘ ’There’s a way to save your child, but you would not like it-‘ ‘Only the Giants can tie a soul to a body. Ironic is it not-’ ‘I was afraid that it would either be the wedding or an execution-‘ ‘I’m sorry, my lady.’ ‘Don't tell a word of this.’
“Why didn’t you tell me?!” He pushes you away so hard you have to take a step back and your back hits the door.
“I didn’t want to hurt you!” You say the first thing that comes to your mind.
“Yeah, sorry if I don’t believe that.” You know that he’s still reading your mind, but clearly his anger is only allowing him to see what he wants to.
“And what do you believe? That I should have told you, so you finally have a reason to get rid of me? To be disowned and tossed away?!”
“You should not be lying to your husband!” He shouts, stepping closer to you, until he has you pinned to the door.
“Children-“ The All-Father makes a sorry attempt to stop you from waking up the entire lodge.
“Maybe you shouldn’t have married the goddess of secrecy if you didn’t want her to keep things from you!” You don’t know why you say that, it just slips from your mouth, while your mind spins around the fear of being separated from your child or worse - her being punished for your actions.
You don’t dodge when he hits you, just stay pinned to the door, hoping that his anger won’t spill over to your daughter. Tears run down your cheeks at the thought. “Heimdall-“
“Heimdall!” The All-Father says in a firm voice, he is still holding your daughter and you hope that he will take your side in this, since he had known, but he seems strangely indifferent to the situation and it crosses your mind that he might have been planning this all along. Just having you give birth and then let Heimdall do the rest.
Heimdall turns his head to his father. “You knew.”
“Yes.” Odin says matter-of-factly. “If you want to leave her do so, but don’t settle to mindless violence. I would expect that from Thor, but not you.”
You don’t even know what to say to Odin. This wouldn’t have happened if he did not send you to Svartalfheim in the first place! You look in Heimdall’s eyes as you think this. They are the last you see of Asgard before the ravens take you away.
_________________________________________________________
“Calmed down yet?”
The All-Father sounds disappointed, and in any other situation that would make Heimdall feel ashamed, but not now. Not when it turned out there was a whole conspiracy against him and his father was a part of it! Eir too!
“If not get out and return when you are.” The All-Father says, as he rocks the soulless baby in his arms.
Heimdall clenches his fists and takes a deep breath. He would not be kicked out for not controlling his emotions. He was not Thor. “I’m alright, All-Father.” He says through gritted teeth. It is not his right to question the All-Father, so he does not ask why he kept his daughter’s state from him for so long. “Is there something that can be done?”
“Yes.” The All-Father nods. “Take Baldur and track the Norns, Y/N had mentioned they had the answers, but refused to give them to her.”
Heimdall knows the door of the All-Father’s study will open, before they do and tries to avoid it by shouting: “Stay out of this, Thor. The clever people are talking.”
It does not help, the door opens anyway and Thor walks in.
“All-Father.” He says.
What follows next is the performance of the longest sentence Thor had ever said, as he insists on accompanying Heimdall and Baldur on their quest. Apparently, he had zero trust in leaving Heimdall’s own child with them and worse, the All-Father allows him to, despite the drunk just crawling his way back from the pub and insulting Heimdall’s parenting skills.
The All-Father returns Bylgja to Heimdall’s arms, before telling them that Niflheim would be the best place to start their search and sending them off to find Baldur.
.
.
.
“Between mother and Y/N, the All-Father seems to be pretty shitty at arranging marriages.” Baldur sees no seriousness in the situation, his mind filled with amusement that makes Heimdall’s skin crawl.
“Shut up.” He snaps, adjusting his hold on his daughter. Baldur is as always relishing in his invulnerability by pissing him off. He used to piss him off even when he was vulnerable, but lately it was getting unbearable. (He tried to fuck his wife on their wedding night for fuck's sake.) He ignores Baldur in favour of warning his other brother of the approaching enemy. “Thor! Ogre at your right!”
Thor throws his hammer, killing the ogre instantly. Of all the Realms the Norns had to choose the Niflheim to stay at this time. Heimdall hated Niflheim, the only realm worse than Niflheim was Helheim.
The moment Mjöllnir returns to Thor’s hand a pack of nightmares spawns around them.
Heimdall quickly realizes the struggle of fighting properly, while holding a newborn, so he uses his foresight to dodge their attacks instead (and Baldur’s attacks too, because he gives no shit about being careful not to hit his allies), cursing, as he tries and fails to draw his sword without nearly dropping his daughter.
Thor notices his struggle and chuckles. Asshole. “Need help?”
“No.” Heimdall snaps back, adjusting his hold on the child, as his brothers finish off the nightmares. He puts his hand under Bylgja’s chin as she throws up, then wipes it off in the snow, more grateful for his foresight now than he was during the whole war.
“You sure? I can tie her to your chest, so you don’t have to keep carrying her.” Thor insists.
It is a tempting offer but since Thor is the one who makes it, Heimdall has to refuse. “No.”
It takes being nearly hit by a revenant for him to see that, maybe, this little humiliation would be worth it in the long run. He foresees the attack, but the revenant is almost as quick as he is and he missteps while dodging it and it’s only Thor’s hand on his back that prevents him from falling down. No need to say that the whole thing is utterly embarrassing.
Baldur meanwhile laughs at the sight, as he sends a frost wave at the revenant. “I knew you liked blondes, Thor, but wow.”
“Hm.” Thor grunts.
While the revenant is distracted Heimdall pushes the child into Thor’s arms. He’s too slow to fight it anyway. “Here- careful.” He can’t say more, even though he has a speech ready, because he foresees another attack coming their direction.
He draws his sword to fend it off. It’s considerably easier when his arms are free and he is soon pushing the revenant back. Not that Baldur would let him have this victory alone - he jumps at the beast from behind ripping its arm off with his bare hands.
At any other time Heimdall would have let the revenant tear Baldur apart, but he does not want to waste time now, so he takes hold of the revenant’s other arm. Before he can rip it off too, Mjöllnir lands on the revenant’s head, killing it instantly.
“Hey! That was my kill!” Baldur shouts at Thor.
“Only because I held it back for you, baby.” Heimdall wipes off the little dirt that he allowed to land on his body.
“How far are they?” He asks Baldur, looking at his daughter in Thor’s arms, fucker can fit her in one hand, otherwise he would struggle with fighting as much as Heimdall did.
“You tell me, future-teller.”
Baldur has a good point but is still a swine. Heimdall looks in the nearest future and only sees more wandering in snow and fighting ogres. Also, Thor tying the baby to him while Baldur is having the time of his life watching them.
“Alright, Thor.” He bites down his embarrassment and reaches for his daughter. “I will need a little help here.”
“Took you long enough.” Thor comments, but leans down to wrap his waist band across Heimdall’s back and Bylgja in the front, pinning her to his chest, while Baldur is laughing and wiping off imaginary tears.
“Can’t you go tracking or something?” Heimdall barks at him.
“Nah, this is too much fun.” Baldur laughs. Heimdall is fully prepared to murder him as soon as he finally finds the Norns and he no longer needs him.
Within the next hour of wandering in the snow it is proven, that it is truly easier to fight off the spawn of Niflheim without having to keep holding Bylgja in his hands and that the humiliation was indeed worth it… Except Baldur’s taunts about it don’t stop coming until Thor threatens that he will tie him to a stone and throw him into the ocean for fish to nibble on. (He is surprisingly creative when it comes to violent threats.)
“She’s so damn silent.” Thor points out the obvious, he is not exactly known for his fast wits – hence why him being good at creative threats is so surprising. “If you jumped like that with Modi at your back, he would be screaming and biting.”
“You don’t say.” Heimdall rolls his eyes. “She’s nothing like your stupid sons.”
“So, you are telling me,” Thor says, that she did not make a sound since her birth and it took you a month to realize she’s fucked up, because you thought your child is just so much better than others that she doesn’t cry?”
“Absolutely fucking not, what do you take me for!” Heimdall hates that Thor’s right, that’s about what happened.
“That’s so stupid of you, it’s cute.” Thor grins and Heimdall wants to murder him.
“Eat shit, Thor. I would love to see you noticing if Sif was feeding you lies.”
He ‘forgets’ to mention that a Wulver is about to jump on Thor. Grinning, as it bites to his arm, right before Thor smashes its head.
“Not to be interrupting your delicious argument.” Baldur reappears from his short tracking (and pouting) trip in an ice-filled gorge, that Heimdall really hopes is just another dead end. “But Thor is right on this one, Heimdall, you’re an idiot.”
For the lack of anything better, Heimdall throws a piece of ice on Baldur’s head. His brother doesn’t bother dodging, it hits his head and he continues talking as if he did not even notice. “The good news is we are close and that I take no fall damage.” He motions to the chasm. “You see that deliciously bottomless hole back there?”
The hole is very much an abyss, one that likely leads to the core of this realm and appears very dark and unfriendly. Heimdall is not keen on getting any close to it with a baby at his chest… nor without her in all honesty. He looks in the future just to see if Baldur is mistaken again and… he sees them meeting the Norns. Great.
“Fuck..”
“Fuck indeed.” Thor repeats. “But I want to see you make the jump.”
“You will.” Baldur says, turns around and runs forward the abyss.
They both stand still, waiting for him to jump inside and when he finally does, they don’t move either, as there’s a long pause and then – finally – the sound of his meat splashing on the ground.
In a moment of morbid curiosity, Heimdall walks to the abyss and looks down, he can’t see anything but darkness, unfortunately. Thor follows after him, doing the same. From the bottom Baldur makes a sound that Heimdall interprets as “I broke every single bone in my body, but I’m fine.”
“So, do you want to climb on my back or should I hold you bridal style?” Thor grins.
“I can make the climb.” Heimdall rolls his eyes.
He dodges as Thor tries to pick him up anyway.
“C’mon, I’m not waiting for your slow ass to climb down. Who knows how deep that hole is.”
“Yeah, hop on, golden boy, I’m not waiting for ya!” Baldur laughs from the abyss and Heimdall curses their godly senses. At this point he starting to think that he does not actually need a healthy baby. He could always pick up one of his human children if he wanted one – and it would be without all that humiliation.
“You know, if you weren’t holding that baby, I would hang you next to Mjöllnir and be over with it.” Thor reaches for him and Heimdall sighs, letting himself to be picked up.
“Those three cunts better have an answer worth all this.” For the sake of his daughter, he swallows up the humiliation and holds on Thor’s neck.
“Can’t you see if they do?” Thor asks, lifting his hammer.
“Not their words.” Heimdall snaps and that’s the last thing he does before Thor lifts them in the air.
When they land, he immediately jumps off, Thor and tries to wipe his stink off himself. Then kicks Baldur who is laying on the ground, laughing his broken ass off.
“You look truly beautiful together.” Baldur laughs, earning another kick to his stomach from Thor. “Ow, I aaalmost felt that.”
“Get your ass up. If you are a good boy, I will let you kill them after we are done.” Thor says, sounding uncannily too much like the All-Father. Then he turns to Heimdall. “How’s the girl?”
It only then occurs Heimdall that he could check on her - he does so just to find out she’s as blank as always. “Seems fine, only for the little detail of having no soul.” He says sarcastically. Then, thanks to his foresight, adds; “Don’t say it.”
Thor doesn’t listen. “Like my ex.”
“Feeling hilarious today, aren’t we? Let’s get this over with. Just pick him up, until he recovers.”
“Nah, I’m- hey!” Thor takes protesting Baldur by one of his twisted limbs and throws him at his hip. No need to say the sight satisfies Heimdall, after all the humiliation he was put through on their trip. For a good measure, Thor covers his mouth.
“Finally.”
They walk in silence from then. It is easy to find the Norns now, Baldur’s help is no longer needed. Heimdall sees the path in his future and follows their threads until they start dropping from the air and he and his brothers are overwhelmed by them.
“Want some mead before we go in?” Thor asks, drinking some himself. Heimdall does not need to look into his eyes to know his offer is driven by pity. It pisses him off.
“No.” He snaps. He does not wait for his brother to hide the bottle before entering the lair of the Norns.
“The sons of Odin, enter the home of the Norns.” Verðandi’s voice greets them.
Urðr’s voice follows. “You should be more specific, sister. Those are not his only sons – just the ones he had kept – for now.”
“Of course.” Verðandi answers. “His oldest – Thor, who slays at his command, Baldur – the son of Freya, who wished to defeat his fate, now cursed by her attempts. And Heimdall, the all-seeing god, who failed to foresee his firstborn’s death.”
“For someone who works with babies, you for sure are cunts.” Thor says and the (seemingly) youngest of the Norns appears behind them, mocking his words by saying them at the same time he does.
“He has so many questions he wants to ask, but he doesn’t dare to, so he insults us instead.” Verðandi says.
“I could know that myself-“ Heimdall speaks and is interrupted by Skuld’s mockery. “You little shit-“
“That’s how you sound.” Thor chuckles at Heimdall, his hand still covering Baldur’s mouth. “At least you know how shitty that feels now.”
Verðandi speaks before Heimdall can. “Intimidated by those who see further than him, he tries to scare his enemies into giving him his answers.”
“In all honesty,” Heimdall says, firmly, his words once again mirrored by Skuld “I’m not at all impressed by your demonstration of a short-distanced foresight and neither are my brothers.” Oh, how he hated to call them that aloud. Still, he gives the Norns his best smile. “So, if you may, tell us how to save my child and we will leave without doing you any harm.”
“We are not threatened by you, Heimdall Son of Odin.” Urðr says. “We know how this will end and so do you.”
They are right, he sees himself leaving with his child in his arms, as soulless as before, angry but not entirely dissatisfied. They will tell him what he wants to know.
“Then stop your games-“ This time when Skuld comes to mock his words, he catches her by her neck, cuffing her. The witch yelps, as he does so. Poor thing thought she could evade him. “And tell me how to save my child.” He nods to his brothers. “Or I let Baldur eat the little one.”
Baldur lets out a growl through Thor’s hand, confident in his new position of a rapid dog. Heimdall could see in his mind that he blamed the Norns for his blessing-curse as much as he did his mother and he was ready to charge at them as soon as Thor let him go. (And Thor saw it too, it was not that hard to guess, if you spent more than five minutes around Baldur.)
“You won’t kill her.” Urðr says.
“The sons of Odin have as little patience as the All-Father himself did, when he was young.” Verðandi appears as her sister vanishes. “But they won’t cause us harm, they are too loyal to their father and he is too scared of the future.”
“You won’t speak of the All-Father like this.” Heimdall says at the same time that Thor drops Baldur and he charges at the old woman, who disappears in a wave of threads.
“I’m holding her for you, idiot.” Heimdall and Skuld say at once. “Really? Still?” Again, she mocks him.
She dodges as Baldur tries to hit her face, making his fist shoot Heimdall’s direction, he too evades it, but has to move himself – and by that the witch in his hold - a step back. “Careful! Idiot!”
Verðandi shows again. “And while the young ones fight, the eldest brother takes the lead.”
“You know what we want, what do you want in return?” Ignoring her and his brothers, Thor walks forward where Urðr stood a moment ago.
“We want nothing from you.” Urðr appears before him. “But do you want what you ask of us? Does Heimdall truly want the reanimated child to live?”
“Yes!” This time his voice is joined by not only Skuld, but Thor too.
He has to dodge another attack that Baldur misplaces. Being at the edge of his patience limit, he throws Skuld at him. Leaving him to do as he pleases with her and moves to stand next to Thor.
“Here he comes, determined to get what he came for! Or to fulfil his father’s orders perhaps?” Verðandi says. “The big brother grunts in disappointment.”
Thor grunts and Heimdall speaks before he thinks, turning to Thor. “Disappointment-”
“Shut up.” Thor says to him and then turns to the Norns. “He wants it, so what can we do?” Heimdall looks in his mind and sees only that he does not wish for this sentence to be taken out of context - and a hint of worry that Thor has no right to feel.
“Tell me, Heimdall.” Urðr says. “Will you love the girl, even when she grows ugly? There are, after all, consequences for fiddling with the fate.”
“Will she?” He looks back at Urðr. “What consequences?”
Skuld repeats his words again, indicating that Baldur couldn’t pacify her even when Heimdall caught her for him. He is truly only useful for sniffing tracks.
“He will.” Thor answers for him again.
“So, determined. But we are asking Heimdall, Thor.” Urðr says.
Verðandi speaks before he can answer. “He lies, thinking he knows so much better than us.”
“I will.” Heimdall doesn’t really care what he says to the Norns, he can see his own fate well enough.
“And if he doesn’t then I will, satisfied?” Thor adds (and Skuld repeats).
“Pff,” Heimdall scoffs. “You beat your sons from nightfall to dawn and then again. No, thank you.”
“Are you prepared to raise a child on your own then?” Urðr asks. “Or will you ask the All-Father to give you another wife? A new mother just like you had?”
That was a low blow.
“Sure, you can, Heimdall! What are the odds that the All-Father picks a child cursing cunt for the third time!“ Baldur joins them, his grin showing bloodied teeth. Heimdall does not look in his mind to see how he got them, neither he chooses to answer to him.
“I can work it out myself. Any other questions? A riddle perhaps? They suck, I always see the answer beforehand.” He notices that he had unconsciously covered the baby with both of his hands at some point, pressing her to his chest.
“Only the last one; What will you do when she grows up more powerful than the All-Father? When she chooses not to follow his orders? What will you do when we tell you, that she won’t be on your side during the Ragnarök?”
Heimdall is taken back because he did not foresee that, Thor does not answer for him neither.
“Stunned, he stands in silence.” Verðandi comments. “He never thought of his own this way, he does not dare to think outside his father’s wishes – or he might end up like Tyr he thinks.”
“Oh, shut up.” He is ready to charge at the witch, but she disappears before he draws his sword. “I- I will let the All-Father deal with it, the way he wishes to. Is that all?”
Thor only glares at him, Baldur laughs and says “Of course you will, pussy.” Heimdall punches him.
“Let it be then.” Urðr says. “You cannot save the child’s soul – you cannot save what never was. You can only get her a new one – and you will pick one of your other children for that, seeing no other as worthy. The child will die, but its soul will live like a god.”
“A shiver runs down the father’s body, as he listens, but he tries to think pragmatically of it.” Verðandi very much nails what happens inside Heimdall’s head, if only she would do that silently.
“And how shall I anchor the soul in her body?” He asks. “That’s giant magic.”
“You will have to convince one to do it.”
“He looks at his brother-“ Verðandi starts saying, only to be interrupted by Heimdall, whose patience finally ran out.
“Oh, will you shut up?!” He shouts, throwing is hands. “How am I supposed to find one?!”
“You will have to catch one on the Wall.” Urðr mocks him.
“Great, we are leaving.” Heimdall (and Skuld) say.
“He turns away, feeling angry, because it’s easier than to admit he is afraid. But he is not the only one with questions.” Verðandi says. “The oldest can swallow them and leave, long used to keeping his thoughts to himself, but the youngest – he will ask them.”
Thor indeed follows Heimdall’s lead. They can hear Baldur behind them. “How can I break my curse?” He asks.
“You will-“
They do not hear the answer, they walk away and don’t stop until they reach the place they started at, marked by Baldur’s blood on the ground. They wait for Baldur to finish his questioning – and maybe executing, neither of them really cared.
“You still don’t want mead?” Thor asks, untying the bottle from his belt and taking a long swing.
“Leave me some.” Heimdall says in defeat, reaching for the bottle.
Thor gives him the bottle with no other word and Heimdall finishes it off in one swing, although it was still half-full. From behind they can hear Baldur walking forward them.
“And then I thought you had left for the baby-murdering quest without me.” He laughs.
Heimdall throws the now empty bottle at him. “We should’ve just left you to rot here.”
“You should.” Baldur grins. “Oh wait, am I being too feeless?” Before he can say more, Thor grabs him by the head, breaking his neck in one swift move. Then he throws his body over his shoulder.
“Are you coming, or would you rather take the climb?” He asks Heimdall.
“I will climb.” He answers. “But I don’t need her for that.” He starts untying the cloth holding Bylgja and then hands her to Thor. “Take her to Asgard, I will be back with the soul soon.” He answers the question Thor was thinking, but did not (to his own luck) dare to ask.
Thor nods, swings Mjöllnir and flies away. Leaving Heimdall to his thoughts alone. He sighs and starts climbing, the abyss is so deep that he – with his sight – barely sees the exit. At least he has a time to think over his next actions. Acquiring the soul will be easy enough, but the only Giant he knew of that still remained outside Jötunheim was the very one that had cursed his child. Living giant anyway, maybe some of the dead ones could help?
To be continued.. I'm an attention whore who did not want to wait for posting. I'm not sure if this should be posted like this on Ao3 or two separate fics: Heimdall pov and reader pov, so people who don't like x reader can read the Odinsons adventure fic. Tell me your opinion..

I am unfaithfully yours, for better or worse.
IkeSen Ranmaru x Mai (mc)
In which Mai knows Ranmaru is a spy... but falls in love with him despite knowing better. And she thinks it's about high time she took matters into her own hands, fate be damned.
tw: mentions of blood and injury (no death), mentions of war and torture but nothing detailed in the slightest, ikesen spoilers! bits & pieces from all sorts of different routes tho so it's all jumbled up lore. please lmk if i forgot to tag anything!
──────────── 〔✿〕 ────────────
- mai knows by now that ranmaru is a spy, and she tries to secretly meet up with kennyo to talk him out of this war
( cue sentimental flashbacks to peaceful days sneaking off to peach trees at the outskirts of azuchi, a montage of sunshine and smiles )
- she tells him that revenge will only bring more death to the people and that peace would be the only salvation for them all
- after things go south (motonari shows up) ranmaru enters and covers for her to escape
. . .
- fast forward to a break in battle with oda vs the uesugi-takeda
- mai makes a sort of sleep bomb to knock out their enemies and save ieyasu, who had been captured after injury
- sasuke helps mai carry him out to safety, then goes back to pretend to be unconscious with the others
- he didn't knock out bc mai had given him a special mask to filter it out previously w/out his knowledge (sasuke just thought it was a nice gift, or perhaps a way to tell him his old one was in need of replacing)
- escapes back to oda forces with ieyasu in tow (albeit slowly and stealthily)
- after returning, mai and ranmaru go off to be distractions while the warlords strategize and wait for ieyasu to get patched up
- they (mitsuhide) recognize that ranmaru is too agile for a page, he almost seems like a ...ninja? and wonder where/when mai learned how to fight and plan like she's doing now
- the two had always been very close after she saved ranmaru in the beginning of her stay, but this seemed like practiced ease between the two... surely not..?
- they find out (or rather confirm) that mai is from the future, and ask if she saved ieyasu bc he's important to the timeline and such, to which she says she can't explain anything in the future bc of the dangers of the butterfly effect
- mai explains certain things in the past that didn't happen due to her intervention and why she's so worried about the future now with this odd three-way war (the past being nobunaga & kenshin/shingen's deaths)
- she then explains that while she was out luring and distracting enemies, she ran into yoshimoto on her way back
(cue flashback)
- mc runs into yoshimoto, both armed with a single weapon (his fan, her dagger) but no desire to fight one another. it is implied yoshimoto may harbor feelings towards mc or at least certainly cares for her safety
- they trade information regarding kennyo: she explains that she believes he's working with motonari, to which yoshimoto confirms, adding on that they've teamed up with kicho and the former shogun (and his dogs daimyos)
- they question each other about things and find out that 1) mai has met up with him privately when she tried to save ranmaru and 2) yoshimoto has been contacted for recruitment from this entourage of third party enemies. yoshimoto wants nothing to do with them, but his former clanmates want nothing but war and vengeance, so he's caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment (hence his current disappearance from the battles)
- they decide to part ways once ranmaru comes looking for her, & they all can't help but worry
- when they get back though, having arrived separately, mai is greeted by the news that the oda forces are tending to ieyasu.. and notices they seem to have constrained ranmaru for questioning while she was explaining the info she got from yoshimoto (which they obviously question how/why she got as well)
- she explains that they're friends from before they knew anything about their alliances, and that they only exchanged info on third party enemies, not about their own groups
- mitsuhide outs ranmaru as kennyo's spy n felt of everything, which prompts mai uses herself as a hostage
- she explains everything with his situation and how he's not actually on either side, but rather torn between people he admires: kennyo, who raised him like a father, and nobunaga, who took him in and gave him his current environment to flourish in
- obviously however, the oda forces don't care bc a spy's a spy, and they're about ready to beat him to death for answers before...
- ...mai holds up a knife to her own throat and attempts a last ditch bargain, trying to judge her worth after all that's just transpired. "if i mean anything, you'll keep him alive, but otherwise.. you lose us both, and all the info we have"
- they don't believe she'll do it, though their eyes widen as she slices across her neck to get their attention, but when they still don't budge, mai proceeds to stab herself right in the chest (trying to purposely aim for where it wouldn't kill her.. but they don't know that)
- everyone proceeds to panic, shoving her off to the medical tent, whilst keep ranmaru captive (he's too horrified from the sight of his love flashing before his eyes to do much of anything except get pushed around)
. . .
- flash forward to mc waking up at ieyasu's palace, extremely weak and in excruciating pain
- he explains that she's been out for a little over a month now, and has received surgery and multiple treatments even just to be stable. he wonders how she even survived at all
- she asks (as best as she is currently able to) as to why she was kept alive.. and whatever happened to ranmaru after that day
- he explains that while they believe she is aiming for peace and don't see her as too much of a threat, it was mainly bc they wanted more info she had about the enemies, and wanted to know how to build her her sleep bombs, etc.
- ieyasu also explains that ranmaru's been in the dungeons and they've been.. questioning him, but she knows exactly what that entails, grimacing both in pain for herself and his sake
- on the other side, after roughly a month's worth of brutal interrogations, a battered ranmaru emerges from the dungeons, granted an audience in the chambers usual reserved for war council
- nobunaga explains he has no use for a page who can't even pick what side he's on, and that he is not to return until he (at the very least) finally has the conviction to pick a master. deems him weak and spineless and all matter of insults, in front of present company of course
- ieyasu arrives just after the meeting starts with news of mai's brief awakening, to which ranmaru lights up immediately, relieved that she's even alive after all this time
- he asks if he can see her but before the others can say no, ieyasu says oh why the hell not, might as well let him see once her before you cast him out. although it comes out in a very him way, "he's had every chance to kill us before and let them all slip.. let alone the pitiful state the two are in. if people this weak could take over my castle, i wouldn't be here in the first place."
- and so they end up going to visit mai over at ieyasu's palace, but she's unconscious again due to the pain, especially after from more bitter medication and dealing with treatment when they'd spoken last. she even had to bite down on towels bc of the pain she endured
- mai's hand twitches at some point while the two are talking, and ranmaru holds it while crying, somewhat glad she can't see the depressing state he's currently in
- ieyasu explains that if he finally decides what side he's on, he's got a little place nearby he can stash him to update him on her wellbeing until she recovers, but that he's not to tell a single soul. they can decide what to do from there once she gives the oda the info they need
- after ranmaru leaves, ieyasu questions whether he's helping her because she had saved him so recklessly on enemy lines... or...
- (turns out he's secretly a hopeless romantic and he admires her courage and their dedication to each other, so he wants to help since they're genuinely nice people, all things considered. they didn't really want to fight in the first place, and he understands that.... but also he kinda feels like he owes mai and sasuke after that last battle)
- eventually, after thorough recovery, mai and ranmaru run off together, never once looking back at what was once their peaceful home in azuchi. they secretly consult sasuke for help, as they are unsure if to find somewhere to hide after kennyo's recent defeat/capture, or whether to go back to her time since he no longer has any family or where to go, and neither does mai now after they ran away
and from there, decisions must be made.....

How about favourite captain America movies scenes?
WELL YOU ASKED FOR IT PAL.
The First Avenger
-Steve at the movie theater, telling that douche to shut up and getting his little ass kicked for his trouble. Oh, Steve. Goddammit, Steve. You are too pure and good and wonderful for all of us. I like that it’s both a good quality trait and a weakness for Steve that he can’t abide bullies and he’ll stand up to anyone even if all it means is he’ll just get the stuffing beaten out of him. Plus, Bucky stepping up to help his idiot best friend is so heartwarming it’s insane. I love that Bucky is just fucking used to Steve getting himself beaten up because he stands up to shitty men. That’s best friends for you.
-Peggy punching the bejeezus out of Whatshisface in the troops’ first scene together. Oh, dear Lord. Where do I start? First, her telling him to step forward. Second, the completely placid look before she does it. Third, the fact that she puts his bitch ass on the ground no trouble. Fourth, Steve’s appreciative smile. Fifth, the General not even blinking that she flattened that douche. It’s just brilliant.
-Steve jumping on the grenade. Standing ovation. Steve is too good and too pure a cinnamon roll for any of us.
- “Not a perfect soldier, but a good man.” This is the heart and soul of Captain America and Steve Rogers and I cannot stress enough how this is honestly probably my favorite scene of the movie. We follow this guy not because of the strength of his body, but the strength of his heart. Steve has all the heart.
-Bucky and Steve being reunited. The best bros just knock it out of the park.
-Peggy’s reaction to Steve returning with all the captured soldiers. Seriously, it is the most NC-17 thing I’ve ever seen in a PG-13 movie. That smile Steve gives her and the smile she gives him right back is 100% code for “if we weren’t in the middle of this camp right now, I would tear your clothes off and fuck you to Jupiter and back.” It’s such a pure, awesome moment of sexual tension, and it’s done in such a classy way. I love that scene to death. They eye-fucked the shit out of each other and I adore the overwhelming yet subtle acknowledgement of what’s going on between them.
-Steve having a picture of Peggy in his pocket watch, and the fact that Peggy sees this during the little film montage. I want to scream. I LOVED the General giving her an amused side eye but not actually saying anything. It was a wonderful little nod to Steve’s reciprocated feelings for her.
-Steve and Peggy’s kiss. Whyyyyyyyyyyy, Lord? Whyyyyyyyyyy? Why didn’t they get more time together?! They were so fucking cute and I know if they’d have gotten together, it’d have been amazing and wonderful and they would have been so happy. Dammit.
The Winter Soldier
Disclaimer: Legit, The Winter Soldier is arguably one of the best comic book movies ever made and it is taking so much restraint for me not to list the entire goddamn film as my favorite scene, because I love it from end to end. Gun to my head, I’d say my Top 3 MCU films would be this, Ragnarok, and either Avengers 1 or Avengers 3. It’s really hard to pick out scenes in a perfect movie.
-Sam and Steve’s introduction to each other. The sheer chemistry here is stellar. I was in stitches that Steve Rogers was just okay with teasing a total fucking stranger for no reason other than just lolz. I love that TWS starts out reminding us that Steve isn’t some humorless do gooder. He has a great sense of humor and he’s just a friendly guy in general, so they couldn’t have picked a better scenario to introduce their dynamic. I adore that opening scene, man.
-Taking back the ship. Fuck, dude. Talk about one of the best executed action scenes in the MCU. Everything from Cap racing around just laying those fucking dudes out on his own to Nat popping in to the absolutely genius execution of Cap vs. Batroc. Oh, if a film scene could get me pregnant, it’d be that one, man. I fucking love that entire damn sequence.
-Nick Fury vs. Hydra. I appreciate this simply because we saw some badass Nick Fury in Avengers, but this was a delightful addition to remind us that the man is the head of SHIELD for a reason. He is NOT to be fucked with. He is a very capable agent and held his own and it was awesome.
-The elevator fight scene. ‘Nuff said.
-Natasha confronting Steve with the flash drive. So this was the first moment where I knew I was going to ship Captasha/Romanogers until the end of time, regardless of the canon. I loved this interaction. Steve is frustrated and suspicious, and so is Nat, but they both find a common ground and realize neither one is actually the enemy. I especially love: “Bye bye, bikinis.” “Yeah, I bet you look terrible in ‘em now.” That snark tho. Cap is flawless, and there is a healthy dollop of sexual tension delightfully overlaid with this scene of him backing her up against a wall and then her showing some skin. Yas lawd.
-Steve and Nat undercover at the mall. Not only is it just funny as hell and delightfully awkward, but it really shows off the great chemistry between the two of them. You’d think that with them being polar opposites that they’d butt heads, but they actually just complement each other extremely fucking well. Then there’s the exquisite escalator kiss. I mean, mm, did that look yummy. Even Steve comes out of it like, “well, damn.”
-The car conversation on the way to Jersey. I think that I would’ve only liked this movie, not loved it, if Nat hadn’t been there. I think Nat’s presence is what helped make this one of the MCU’s best films period. The honesty between them as they have probably one of their first real conversations getting to know each other is amazing. I adore this scene. I adore seeing them bond. “That’s a tough way to live.” “Good way not to die, though.” I think that is one of the best lines in the whole MCU, personally.
-Recovering at Sam’s place. First off, the two of them sharing the guest room and bathroom says a whole lot of shit right there. It’s an implied intimacy. Then Cap walking over and just knowing in his gut that Nat isn’t okay, and just gently, gently asking her what’s wrong is so important to both of their characters. You get to see them go from coworkers to friends and from friends to good friends in such an amazingly short period of time that it’s so heartwarming. Evans and Johansson have worked on several films together, and this is definitely one of those things where they just play off each other so well from being friends in real life. I love the inflections. I love the close up on their expressions. I love how Steve is able to get Nat to lower her walls and just talk to him about how she’s feeling, and how she sincerely thanks him, and how she’s even a little scared when she asks “if it were down to me to save your life, and you be honest with me, would you trust me to do it?” and Steve emphatically answers, “I would now” and then smiles at her so sweetly and makes a little joke. I just…my heart, man. My heart. Steve and Nat’s relationship is possibly my favorite out of all the Avengers, and I should note that Chris Evans ships it and I am really happy about that fact.
-The Winter Soldier’s attack. Flawless. This fucking sequence is flawless. Getting to see everyone’s skills on display, and then capped with the emotional realization from Steve that his best friend is not only alive, but has been brainwashed and is trying to kill them, is just so great. Huge, huge kudos to Evans, Stan, Mackie, and Johansson as well as their stunt team and the choreographers, because it’s some of the most gorgeous, polished action I’ve ever laid eyes on. Especially Evans and Stan’s fight. Wow, that could not have been easy and it’s all them when there are close ups during the knife fight. I really appreciate them going HAM on that shit. It turned out beautifully.
-“But I knew him.” Yep. Let me die. Just let me die. Poor tortured Bucky’s memories surfacing at the sight of his best friend saying his name just tears me up inside. Ugh. Bury me.
-Cap remembering Bucky’s words after his mother’s funeral. Bury me again.
-Cap’s speech to SHIELD after they arrive at the HQ. Hnnnnnnngh. I would die for Steve Rogers. Without question. This speech is why. He knows that he might die trying to stop Hydra, but he gives those people the choice to do what’s right at great cost, and he believes that they will do the right thing, and he’s absolutely right. I had mentioned years ago that this is why the DCEU’s current Superman has failed; that trait, believing in people despite evidence pointing to the opposite, is what make Cap and Superman two American icons. This is why we rally behind them as characters. Because they believe in us and they believe we are worth protecting. It’s a fucking shame the DCEU writers don’t understand that and have forced a decent actor like Henry Cavill to be a morose, joyless, brooding Superman, and don’t even try to tell me they “fixed” him in the JLA movie, because they retconned it and thought that did the trick, and they were wrong. What Cap said in that speech is precisely why he is as great a man as we’ve all come to love over the years. It’s nothing short of incredible.
-The entire ending helicarrier sequence. Good to the last fucking drop, man. Everything about it is flawless. Especially “You’re my mission!” “Then finish it. ‘Cause I’m with you ‘til the end of the line.” Cue me screaming and crying and clawing down my curtains. Bucky pulling Steve from the river turns me into an absolute wreck of emotions.
Civil War
-Cap consoling Wanda after the bullshit news report. Man, fuck the whole ass world for that reaction, by the way. Wanda saved that entire marketplace full of people, but she still got blamed for intervening anyway, and we know Crossbones would’ve killed countless people if they hadn’t stopped him, so you can all fuck off. But what I really like about this scene is Cap’s almost fatherly concern for her, knowing she was still recovering from the pain of losing her twin brother not too long ago. He understands the loss and the pain she feels and knows that she has doubts about herself and he’s there to assure her he doesn’t blame her, if that is any consolation. Cap is so conscious of her needs and emotions that it’s extremely touching to see, even though the scene is brief.
-The team going over the Accords and choosing sides. This was very well done, as everyone’s reactions are very interesting. I personally don’t see how the hell anyone could be Team Iron Man, but that’s just me. I at least like that Tony’s actions are justified in that he has been trying so hard this whole time to do the right thing, but it feels like the harder he tries, the more awful things become until he’s left with no good choices at all. I feel for him. So much. I feel for Cap as well knowing that about Tony and yet being unyielding in his feelings about the Accords.
-Nat comforting Steve at Peggy’s funeral. Cue gross sobbing. Damn, this is why I ship Captasha so hard. She tells him that she’s pretty much going along with the Accords for the sake of keeping their little family together if possible, and Steve sadly tells her he can’t do it, but she already knows, and she’s just there to support him. That’s love. You can debate if it’s platonic or romantic, but that scene is just pure love between Nat and Steve. She is there for no other reason than to hug her friend and check on him and make sure he knows he is not alone in this awful time in his life. It’s by far one of the most touching scenes in the entire MCU.
-The death of T’Chaka. Oh my God. Give Chadwick Boseman all the awards. How did we become that emotionally attached to him in such a short amount of time? Wow. I mean, wow, was that powerfully acted.
-Nat warning Steve not to intervene. Again, you can’t tell me these two people don’t love each other. She’s so worried about him, and even Sam acknowledges that she’s not wrong to want them to stay out of it since they’ll now get arrested.
-Everyone chasing after Bucky. Hnnnnnngh, yes please, this shit was awesome. Especially Cap and T’Challa racing over moving fucking cars and Bucky snatching that motorcycle mid-air. I love that scene with all my heart and soul.
-”So, you like cats?”
-Bucky’s escape. Seriously, the Winter Soldier is not to be trifled with. Holy hell, does he put everyone through their paces.
-Tony recruiting Peter Parker. And now we have it, the shining crown jewel of Tony Stark’s development as a character, in the form of a tiny adorable baby he adopts to fight a ninety year old veteran. I know, right? I never expected that Tony recruiting Parker would be anything like what we got and yet it’s by far one of my favorite relationships in the MCU. It’s so genuinely cute and sweet and the word choice during that scene in Parker’s room is very important from a character standpoint. “When you can do what I can do, but you don’t, and then the bad things happen…they happen because of you.” Without saying it out loud, they were able to convey what happened to Uncle Ben, and that’s really good storytelling, man. You see this kid is hurt and blames himself and he will do anything to make up for his sins. Tony is even touched by it. Plus, the humor in that scene is awesome and it’s so warm and evident that RDJ and Tom Holland really got along and had chemistry.
-Recruiting Scott Lang. It’s so brief, but that fucking scene puts me in stitches every time, especially Paul Rudd’s improv of grabbing Chris Evans’ shoulders when he sees just how goddamn built and cut the man is. I thought that was genius. It’s so perfect.
-”Can you move your seat up?” “No.”
-The airport fight scene. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. This is so good. For so many reasons. How it’s staged. How it starts off quiet and it slowly builds tension. How Tony is so hurt that Cap appears to be choosing Bucky over him, how Cap is protecting him, how Tony absolutely doesn’t want to fight his friend and yet they are on opposite sides anyway. “You’re gonna come with us because it’s us.” The utter desperation in Tony’s eyes when he almost begs Cap to turn himself in is so heartbreaking. It kills me, man. Emotions aside, I simply love all the fights and the various match ups. Especially Spidey versus Bucky and Sam (”Couldn’t you have done that earlier?” “I hate you.”) and Spidey versus Cap (”That thing does not obey that laws of physics at all!”) and Spidey versus Ant Man. It’s all so glorious.
-Nat stopping T’Challa from getting to Bucky and Steve. It’s raining on my face. “You’re not gonna stop.” “You know I can’t.” “I’m gonna regret this. Go.” It’s so important. It’s so important, y’all. Nat chose Steve when it mattered most and I ship them until my dying breath.
-“Vengeance has consumed you. It is consuming them.” All the awards, Chadwick. All the motherfucking awards.
-The final scene of Steve walking up to Sam’s cell. There’s just something about the playful confidence and determination in his expression that despite how sad the ending is that Tony and Cap are no longer on speaking terms that it gives you just a tiny flicker of hope that maybe things will be okay for Team Cap.
Well, there you go. Cap and Thor are currently tied for the top spot in my heart of Favorite Avenger, hence all the word vomit. Sorry, not sorry.

so i have to get ready for work but i had a dream last night about roz /actually/ getting recaptured by the order and having a VERY different experience than any other time she’s been aboard (especially since this time it isn’t a planned ‘get-captured-by-the-order-and-steal-stuff/info-and-get-out’ deal)
there’s mention of getting beat up and stuff under a read more bc idk how upsetting/triggering it could be so; tws for physical & mental torture under the line
clearly the force-inhibitor cuffs and stuff that’s been seen in the clone wars series would be enforced because girl is violent as all hell even without it, but with the force in her hands she’s actually y’know extensively more dangerous than without
so she’s cuffed and she gets interrogated first by hux- who domhnall gleeson has even said is a fierce fighter even though he’s thin and lanky, brutal, etc- who literally beats the shit out of her. for whatever reason, roz doesn’t fight back. in essence even though she’s bleeding profusely and bruised to all hell and probably has some broken bones (i envisioned him doing all this torture and such in the training room where she and ren used to spar, and he literally ends up hurling her around the room, slamming her around, beating her, slapping her, busting her lip open and making her nose bleed, giving her a black eye, etc)
she laughs when he’s done because like...... she’s lived on tatooine she grew up there and she’s been through the meat grinder before and she laughs! because yeah she’s in pain yeah she’s hurting and it sucks and a few more rounds of that could kill her but fuck this scrawny tall willowy general from arkanis who thinks he’s gonna take her pride and personality from her and who thinks he’s gonna get all this information from her just by fucking her up physically
she’s pretty much laying limp and bleeding on the floor when she laughs at him and tells him this and he’s just. so frigidly livid. it really amuses her because at this point part of her thinks she deserves it but part of her also is like lmao?? is that the worst
to which he calls ren in
who. is very quiet with her at first (she turns her head away, visibly shaken and so drastically different from the cocky laughing rebel bleeding out on the floor moments ago) while she won’t look at him
eventually he’s like.... so this is the thanks i get for taking you in and trying to give you everything i have and give you a place here in the order and in the darkness- he spits words like disappointment and pathetic and he can’t believe he’s stuck his neck out for her this long
he goes to turn her chin to him so she’d be looking at him and she fucking /bites his hand/ and draws blood with them sharp teefers and he curses all the while she’s glaring at him with such a look that he immediately begins ripping into her head with the force because her walls are down the force is kept from her and she’s vulnerable
she’s thrown into a cell later, clearly worn out with no energy whatsoever, she doesn’t even eat what little they do give her. and she just. ends up laying there staring at the wall
i dreamt people visited her but i can’t remember who or how or what was said. she tried apologizing at one point tho i forget why
MEANWHILE TABIIT IS FURIOUS AND LIVID AND IN HER ANGER IS AMASSING A SMALL ARMY TO GET HER LITTLE ROZ BACK BECAUSE THIS TIME THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE SITUATION
i can’t remember all of the rest of it but here’s some tidbits:
tabiit and hux being face to face through the view ports of their ships because tabs drops the amazon out of hyperspace almost right in front of the deck of the finalizer
the phrase “yeah... that’s why i brought some mandalorians”
TABIIT & RHYS V KYLO GOD IT WAS SO EPIC bc they manage to get some of those same force inhibitor cuffs on him and they fucking almost win before he cuts them off w/ his saber and they’re like.... fuck ok still gonna fuck you up tho
they don’t they run after zeebs and odell and chora grab roz while evey and amalthea take care of the amazon and khorde and his crew bring hell upon the outside of the finalizer while in their ship the retribution
tabiit v gently cradling roz and being so careful with her while also shooting a higher up order officer point blank in the head for trying to fire at the two of them
lots of fighting but they get away and roz is home and that’s all that matters
