thinking about tvbbo being scared to sleep because he’s spent so long preparing against people who wait for the silences to attack.

it gets worse after the festival when he has to wait for people to speak before he recognizes them (he tries to squint, but one day schl^tt laughed at him for it and the fact that people can see even the tiniest result of his disability startles him out of the habit).

he uses hands-on work that he should get done anyway; crafting banner patterns and making flags, mending old armor, sometimes he just dumps one of his chests onto the table and slides everything around with his hand as if he’s sorting it. all things he makes so crucial in his mind. flags are morale and if there’s no morale his country will crumble. holding his armor in his hands, feeling over the frays and the dots which will make way into holes, tvbbo imagines it crumbling and feels a thousand versions of deaths with the blinding blur of dr3am’s mask staring down at him. he dissociates more when “sorting”, but every few items he brushes against he’ll recognize and build a worse case scenario where he’d die without this random item.

tvbbo panics whenever his eyes start to close, because this battle to continue his work unravels everything too easily. he could convince himself against the other catastrophes, but really he’s always frozen to accept them in fear of confronting the mental assertion that if he sleeps, he’ll die

r^nboo is a very calm little but when they get emotional it’s all at once. normally it’s because of anxiety attacks when people ask flor to take care of confusing big things. they’re the most destructive (maybe hitting their stuffies, sometimes they unwind their books and a few times flor’s managed to get their memory books and rip the papers), but once they’ve settled in someone’s lap they calm down quickly. commonly the rest of the night is flor apologizing and t<chno pampering flor because he understands r^nboo’s not really able to process such big emotions

qu^ckity normally cries before he regresses, a lot of being little for him is overstimulation. he’s really trying to calm down but it looks like a tantrum even when it isn’t. he hugs himself and tries to fix the feathers on his wings to distract himself. whenever he’s with a cg or sitter, he gets angry and starts yelling. he’s very stubborn and doesn’t understand why the big kids can’t help him. the only people really safe from tantrums are r^nboo and tommy, since they’re little sibbies to qu^ckity (tvbbo is a few years older in littlespace so qu^ckity doesn’t shout at him but on turbulent days he’s very unresponsive towards tvbbo)

crying actually takes jack out of regression most of the time, regression is relatively happy for him and it feels like his mind stops when he’s in headspace and it isn’t happy. it makes him anxious because it feels sudden, he isn’t sure whether to force himself to feel big or to work against his own brain to stay small. depending on how big he feels, it can get difficult to ask for help to regress again, but if his mind’s still fuzzy enough he marches right over to his carer. sometimes he cries while he’s getting back into headspace, not for any real reason but just because whatever is happening mentally is very confusing to him in general. t<chno and tvbbo are the best at getting him back into headspace because they’re very caring and give little soothing affirmations of how scary that feeling must be, tommy tends to just treat it like regular regression which isn’t great but sometimes it’s nice to not dally on the feeling

partially blind tvbbo seeing revivebvr for the first time,, his coat is so dusty and the clothes feel like they’ve rotted into such muted colors that for a second tvbbo sees the brown hair and the tall figure and thinks ghostbvr. it feels so wrong the second he thinks it, his shoulders relax just to tense again. he cries out “what the fuck happened” before he even remembers the yellow. and he squints to search again, but a big blob of yellow is so obvious (even more so when it’s missing). and revivebvr raises his arms in triumph at l’manhole, and tubbo manages to notice the very thin line of a cigarette jutting from the his hands and it just cements the sense of loss before the revived man can speak
