Pra não dizer que estou de mau humor e que sou uma careta. Tirando a fase "saída fácil" de Hans Donner, ele produziu verdadeiras poesias como esta. E com a música da Marina Lima, ficou ainda melhor. Comprei o disco da cantora por causa desta música.

Not to say that I'm in a bad mood and that I'm a grimace. Hans Donner's "easy way out" phase aside, he produced true poetry like this one. And with Marina Lima's music, it got even better. I bought the singer's album because of this song.

There's a crowdfunding program in my country called Criança Esperança (literaly "Child Hope"), that used to air for like 24 hours on the main tv network, Globo, as a sort of competitor to SBT's Brazilian Teleton. A bunch of artists would get together and perform to raise money, and there's even a scene that got turned into a meme where the iconic presenter of Criança Esperança, Renato Aragão, also known as Didi, a plain clothes no makeup clown and comedian who became famous in brazil through his comedy group Os Trapalhões, a comedy troupe on the vein of the Three Stooges, was telling a story about a child and mother dying of hunger in the impoverished northeast, where the child, hunger-striken and down to skin and bones, knowing he was going to die, turns to his mother and asks: "mommy, is there bread in heaven?" (Yes, it was a very manipulative story, ficticious, and designed to tug at the heartstrings and take money from suckers, because just saying it was to help hungry children wasn't enough). Anyways, I remember watching it every year growing up. And I remember the donations you could make: 5BRL (roughly 1USD), 10BRL (roughly 2USD), and 50BRL (roughly 10USD). I just checked the site (yes, it's still going on, even after all these years!) and the new suggested values are 10BRL (roughly 2USD), 20BRL (roughly 4USD), 40BRL (roughly 8USD), or 80BRL (roughly 16USD). And these are for helping a whole bunch of impoverished children eat, and have educational activities, and so on. The Criança Esperança project benefits thousands of children nationwide.

Why am I bringing this up? Because I've noticed a trend on the many "please help i'm a palestinian" messages I've been getting every day, where they ALSO include suggested donations - that range from 10USD to 25USD. And this is per "family", per donation request.

My point is: how come one palestinian family needs more money from me than all the poor children in my country?

Madonna will finish tour with free concert on Copacabana Beach

Madonna’s Celebration tour will wind up with a free concert on Copacabana Beach on May 4.

An announcement on Madge’s website described the concert as her biggest gig yet.

“An unforgettable concert in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.”

The announcement says Her Madjesty will perform the show free of charge as a thank you to fans who have celebrated more than four decades of her music during the Celebration tour.

Entry will be first come – first served.

“This unforgettable, one-time event, featuring the world’s biggest dance floor, will be broadcast live on TV Globo.”

Madonna on Copacabana Beach

Organisers said that the show will be similar to the New Year’s Eve Reveillon parties held on the beaches of Rio.

That party attracts over 2 million people onto a 2½ mile stretch of Copacabana Beach.
