The last episode went for a ride.

The reveals were kind of funny, I loved Myne's reactions :D

Sylvester seemed like such a fun guy when he was introduced. But the way his protection charm was actually a contract, and Myne ending up 'signing' this contract without knowing, was far from okay. Did not expect that of him to be honest.

And then he also just casually mentions how he'd be ready to traumatize her even more than she already is. I mean man, come on, you're supposed to be adopting her and taking care of her, not make everything worse. I know that it's a practical decision, but he could at least try to be considerate.

Then honestly her conversations with her family were so heartbreaking. How she promised to make toys and books so they would remember them. How her sister promises to learn to read properly so she can read them, and to become a great seamstress so they can at least have business relations.

And when she got emotional and her mana was overflowing the nobles were all ready to shoot her with their magic and execute her. Such a safe and protective environment for her.

The way she looked when she stood in the hallway and her family was leaving. How she bowed so no one would see her cry. I can't.

And yet she tried to stay positive. And wants to protect everyone.

Omg look at the five siblings of Ascendance of a bookworm!

The oldest boy (dead) is Will. 2nd Tuuli. 3rd is Myne. 4th I assumed it is a girl (dead) is Rim (I love her she is so cute). And the youngest is Kamil.

I just wanted to see them all alive 🥺
