The Lost Grimoire

As they trudged along their path, Tuuli clutched the two pouches she brought with her, one with his general belongings: clothes, food, trinkets, and another one with just their golden grimoire. “Do you need help carrying that?” asked the woman beside him, who had offered to be personal guide for Tuuli to help her navigate the Clover Kingdom.

“No, I’m fine.”

“Alright.” The woman shrugged and flipped her black hair back. “Well, the magic knights’ exam is just ahead. Follow me.”

“What’s this? A lone magic knight has come after me?” A blonde woman with a multicolored dress smirked at Tuuli from atop a tree. “Does your captain seriously think that you’re enough to stop me?”

Tuuli ignored her comment. “Crystal Dali, former member of the Azure Deer. We cannot ignore what you’ve done, your ungodly acts of rampaging and attacking innocent people. You have to pay for this!”

“Oh, you sound just like your captain!” Crystal grinned down, noting the red robe on Tuuli. “How cute! Well, I’ll play with you for a little bit, kid, until they send actual opponents.”

Tuuli jumped aside as a tower of rubies shot up from the ground. He could hardly dodge, not quite able to keep their robe or their side-swept white hair from getting cut slightly. In turn, she shot a blast of wind at Crystal, who unfortunately easily danced around it.

Crystal fired again and again, but Tuuli managed to roll away each time, just barely. At that, Crystal quickly got frustrated and opened her green grimoire. Tuuli attacked her again too, summoning more wind, but he was hardly able to hurt her with it. “What? Do you not even think you’re on equal ground with me?” Crystal grit her teeth. “Take me seriously! Where’s your grimoire?!”

You’re one to talk about taking people seriously, Tuuli thought as they kept attacking with their wind magic. “Don’t ignore me!” Crystal yelled.

Tuuli glared up at her. “I...don’t have my grimoire.”

“Well, here we are.” The guide pointed at a nearby tower with one hand and patted Tuuli’s back that donned a white shoulder-less shirt with the other. “That’s where the exam is taking place.”

“Thank you, Miss Plume.” Tuuli grinned at her.

“Well, good luck. I hear the exam can be hard.” She turned to look at him, narrowing her light brown eyes. “And probably infinitely more so without your grimoire.”

“Huh?” Tuuli quickly gripped at her side, only to find the pouch was empty. Noire jumped away from them, flipping through Tuuli’s grimoire. “Decently sized, and from the Heart Kingdom. I bet a grimoire from another country really pays!”

“Give it back!” Tuuli shot wind at her, but they were not fast enough as Noire dodged.

“I’m afraid I can’t.” She opened her own red and blue grimoire. “Oh, um, welcome to the Clover Kingdom.” A swarm of feathers surrounded her, and when they let up, she was gone.

“Seriously?! How are you even a magic knight?!” Crystal demanded.

The grass surrounding Tuli and Crystal began to sway. “Because...I was lucky enough to be beloved by mana, and so I was still given a chance.” A circle of wind surrounded Crystal, ripping at her clothes, skin, and hair. It blew so strong, it trapped her, wrapped around her, rendered her completely immoble.

They walked up to her. “But I will get it back one day,” Tuuli vowed, “and prove my ultimate strength. I will make the man who gave me a chance proud.”

Going Merry Holidays 2024 (day 12): Sanji x Nami - My weakness (finnish)

Alrighty, halfway there so here is something brand new~!

This song decided to live rent free inside my head after hearing it randomly from the radio and frankly spoken, it was just the chorus that made me think of Sanji falling in love with Nami and her slowly admitting having fun and perhaps romantic feelings too.

However the rest of the lyrics didn't quite fit or maybe were just too complicated for boomer like me because this is a very modern kinda finnish rap with loads of finglish which is a trend nowadays *laughs* (and anyway, I don't know for me it'd sound weird if i.e Sanji would call Nami a "thottie" even as a joke or Sanji's true principle of making his dream woman happy would be only via buying things she likes or stuff like that although Nami is sometimes portraited as material girl. I mean he would of course Sanji would buy her a lots of stuff but stil she is more than that).

Nah, I think there is more depth and like in Nami's part of Reasons to love Mugiwaras - post, I think money has been kind of a bandage for her traumas and loneliness but as seen in Skypiea, she chose her nakamas. After all, after the Strawhats freed her home village from Arlong, Nami finally found her freedom.

I actually have a headcanon that if Nami ever fell in love before joining the Strawhats and did date someone, she would have the tendency to fall for the ones that treat her badly (because I highly doubt she was treated well by Arlong) and just somehow she'd become interest in Sanji who would be opposite to her ex/exes, much more respectful to the ladies due to his chivalry and in general he has been very kind to her and Robin (if we count out that comical relief of being ero-kappa).

Anyway, in Sanji's verse there are more clips before timeskips since he laid his eyes on her at the first glance whereas Nami's part's clips are much more focused more on the after Timeskip time. Well their nakamaship has had great development even before the SH were sent apart but from the shipper's perspective there has been more "visible" signs about Nami's possible interest in him.

It's again in my native language finnish and there are a couple of catches. First one is that the original song says: "Hymy ku Naantalis olen" is literally translated "Smile, like I was in Naantali" but I wrote to the subs "Smiling like the sun (in Naantali)". Naantali is a finnish city that is known for it's sunshine and "Naantalin aurinko".
