TuTchTMas AFTERGLOW - MAGOR MENG The ever-striking Mr. Meng can always be counted on to bring home the green, in many senses of the phrase. In case you missed this East Dane campaign, here’s another taste. Their recipe for nostalgic holiday magic with a high-octane flavor: Take one freshly-hewn fir strapped to the roof of a classic car and add the lithe-limbed confident stance of one mister Magor Meng, clad in equally classic attire and POP! you’ve got an pine-scented image as warm, glowing and crackling as a proverbially blazing Yule log. . Magor wasn’t quite as visible this past year as he devoted some focused daddy time to his newly born daughter (who is, of course, an effervescent beauty.) But each time he does step in front of a camera, the magnetic field of the planet shifts a little and all eyes seem to be drawn his way. We appreciate him sharing his gift with the planet. . TuTchTMAS AFTERGLOW - FALLOU GUEYE In memespeak, “Lookin at the new decade like.” . Milan-based Senegalese brother Fallou Gueye is one of the top Italian models in the game, of any race or gender. He has long been a favorite of Misters Domenico and Stefano, known globally as founders and designers of the Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. Fallou’s also been a favorite of mine for the full span of his glowing 7-year career. D&G dropped a typically lush, aristocratesque holiday campaign a few days before the holidays which featured our brother, Mr. Gueye seated in front of a wall of classic Renaissance paintings clad in a vibrant red, suit of D&G’s finest sartorial, jacquard-embroidered craftsmanship. TuTchTMAS AFTERGLOW - KOBE HALL This guy’s got me locked in a TuTchTstare. 2019 High School Graduate Kobe Hall produces work via his Mother Agency The Bri’geid Agency that has attracted my eye since day one. Whether in print or on the runways of the fashion world, Kobe’s complexly blended look of steely-eyed determination, all-American boy-next-door charm and melancholy is always on point. He possesses a priceless realness that sometimes escapes high fashion models and yet still has a well-cultivated, well-read timeless quality beyond his years. . I’ve been following Kobe’s career and life journey since last 2018. THE TuTchTMAS AFTERGLOW During the busy holiday season I collect my favorite images that cross my timelines, expecially ones that feature young brothers I highly respect and follow on the daily —- some replete with in-the-moment worldwide shine generated by their talents and skills, and others in the pre-shine, post-shine or in-between-shine state that comes with the ebbs and flows of life for the born-to-be-seen set. . Not one to be bound by traditions, and yet loving the romance of nostalgia, I’ve created my own holiday sharing season —-TuTchTmas —- where I spend some time at the ol’ drawing board, wrapping these images (& a few of my own design too) in a TuTchT holiday aesthetic. The worlds I rummage around in (the worlds of entertainment and modeling) are often irritatingly chained to an arbitrary clock of “seasons” and “of-the-second Public tastes. But powerful images and performances can be timeless whether or not they are lucky enough to land in the proverbial right place, right time. TuTchTMas AFTERGLOW - ZOLA OKENY WITH MOM & POPS One of the royal families of the modeling world, Yanii Gough, George OKeny and son Zola, made history in the Fall of 2018. Young King Zola became the youngest model to appear at New York Fashion Week, and at the historic Ralph Lauren 50th Anniversary Show, no less. The family’s association with Mr. Lauren’s world-renowned Polo line has continued from that day forward with multiple shows and campaigns. The latest was last month’s Polo Holiday Campaign. Here’s a few seconds of one of their magical shoots. . This year has started off with some historic idiocy in the highest office of the land and some personal hurdles here in my little corner of the universe but seeing these three beautiful people representing the quintessential American brand gives me the very deepest and strongest kind of hope in our country’s future. All kinda love for these three folk! . TuTchTMas AFTERGLOW - VALENTINE for SAKS TuTchTFam Valentine lent his classic beaming smile to NYC’s storied retailer Saks Fifth Avenue this season. They knew only a warm, sincere, million-watt smile could stand side-by-side with their world-famous store lighting ceremony which lit the legendary street with a jaw-dropping array of sparking state-of-the-art luminous magic. This year’s Saks-Disney collab was a Frozen-themed spectacular featuring a shimmering original score and live performance by “Let it Go” vocalist Idina Menzel. . Greatness is, indeed, everywhere for those with an eye to see it. Holiday kuddos, Saks, for honing in on the considerable talents of Mr. Valentine Rontez. His infectious smile definitely did its infectious trick as smiling on-lookers lined the streets to see Saks’ famous facade light up the city. Not even his canine cohort in the spot was immune, donning a holiday ear-to-ear. . Having followed this young brother from the earliest days of his career, I know that even with a resume which is the envy of the rank and file, the total package of what he has to offer is still largely slumbered on. He is truly a gift that will keep on giving throughout the coming new decade. TuTchTMAS AFTERGLOW - BABACAR N’DOYE & GRACE MUSASE for ELITE Giving some post-holiday shine to posts we may have missed as they flew across our timelines in the Christmas rush. . Babacar and Grace are two or the skyrocketing stars of London-based Elite Models. They both burst onto the scene in 2018 and between them have already racked up over 100 high profile gigs on the runways and magazines of the world, including a magazine cover each (Babacar, already a Dior favorite with no less than 5 collabs in just two years, owned the cover of TEN Magazine this past September while Grace graced the cover of SID Mag in May of this year.
