Some places to donate to help with the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
Both have lists of reputable charities (and a lot of overlap) plus some information about making sure you select charities that will actually help.
Both are very American-centric, unfortunately.
Here are two other posts with more localized charities that are trustworthy.
If anyone has any corrections or other organizations/charities please add on.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here, but in case anyone is unaware: Turkiye has been very devastatingly hit by a few 7+ magnitude earthquakes, one of which was a 7.8. The impact is being most heavily felt in Turkiye and Syria with thousands confirmed dead, and tens of thousands injured and so many people buried in the rubble of collapsed buildings. The numbers will grow.
If you are able and you haven’t, please tune into Hasan’s stream and donate to the charity stream that’s going on. The funds raised there are going to 4 charities: CARE Turkey, CARE Syria, AKUT, and ahbap.
If you want to donate individually instead, please donate to charities that go directly to helping the affected people like those listed above. Another good one is Doctors Without Borders.

There's so much pain in the world right now. As an empathic person - a human being - I feel such pain emanating from everywhere, I could cry and cry.
That's why I cling to the positive side... Trained volunteers from all ovr the world rushing to Turkey and Syria. Children being dug out after 100 hours miraculously alive. People donating what they have although times are hard everywhere... It's beautiful to see what human beings can do for fellow human beings. There is goodness, there's hope.

A major earthquake and a series of strong aftershocks shook Southern Turkey and other parts of the Middle East on Monday. The most powerful of these registered 7.8 magnitude, placing it among the five most powerful earthquakes recorded during the 21st century in the world.
This first earthquake, at 4:17 am local time in Turkey (Sunday evening in the United States), was followed later in the day by another powerful temblor hundreds of kilometers away, at magnitude 7.5, as well as additional aftershocks. These earthquakes appeared to be occurring along the East Anatolian Fault, which divides the Eurasian tectonic plate to the north from the Anatolian plate to the south.
Earthquakes of this magnitude produce violent shaking of the ground and landslides and can level buildings. They are terrifying and deadly events for people living nearby. Early death counts, as of Monday, had already exceeded 1,600 people, The New York Times reports.
This number is expected to grow as early images and videos from the region showed multiple collapsed structures, including high-rise buildings. Preliminary estimates from the US Geological Survey indicate that, most likely, 1,000 to 10,000 people have died, with economic losses equal to 1 to 2 percent of Turkey's gross domestic product.
This will create a humanitarian crisis, with cold weather and rain and snow falling in the vicinity of populated areas. Hundreds of thousands of structures may be deemed unfit for even temporary habitation in the wake of Monday's earthquakes.

The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.
If you could donate PLEASE do!!!
Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:
Islamic Relief:  teams are on the ground right now providing emergency food assistance, shelter, medical supplies to hospitals and clinics, as well as blankets and tents for those made homeless by the quake in Turkey and Syria
Molham: The team at Molham are currently on the ground helping displaced families in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the earthquake
The White Helmets: The team are on the ground in Northwest Syria searching for survivors and removing the dead from the rubble.
MSF: remaining in close contact with the local authorities in northwestern Syria and with the authorities in Turkey to extend their support where it’s needed. They’re providing essential life kits to displaced people in the region
please PLEASE reblog. Syria and Turkiye need our help!!!

Also! Material donations are a huge relief! In most cities around the world people are raising funds to send donations.
Consider the following:
Canned food
Parkas
Blankets
Ski pants
Thermal clothes
Gloves, hats, scarves
Diapers
Hygienic products
Sleeping bags
Electric grills
If you have anything in spare or have the means to buy things to donate there is most likely someone or an organization raising funds in your area!
oh my god, i just read some news about an earthquake in turkey, are you okay??
hello anon, thank you for checking in with me! I'm thankfully not that close to Kahramanmaraş where the M7.7 earthquake happened, me and my family made it out of our building safely and were only frightened.
For those who don't know, the southern part of Turkey (Kahramanmaraş as the epicenter) along with northern Syria were hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 followed by aftershocks and another wave of a 7.6 magnitude hours later. I cannot speak for what's happening in Syria but they are in dire need of help as well.
The entire region is devastated with more than 3000 deaths (and counting, news channels are hiding the real amount, or so they say) and 10s of thousands of injured and an unfathomable amount of people still stuck under the rubble, it has left hundreds of thousands homeless. The earthquake hit 4 a.m. at night, so many were caught defenseless and disoriented in their sleep.
The damage is this unbelievably devastating because the southeastern areas are criminally underdeveloped, and help cannot get anywhere in time due to collapsed roads and because the ratio of helpers to those who are in need of help are severely lacking. In some areas, people have been waiting for help for an entire day now, and no government aid has arrived.
We are in the middle of a snowstorm and people are dying of hypothermia if not from fallen buildings. Don't go searching for these videos if you're faint of heart, but I have to say that people are sending help calls and videos from under the rubble, some cities and towns still haven't received any support at all and people are still under rubble. The way their loved ones are trying to lift rocks and debris with their own hands is just... saying it's extremely upsetting is an understatement. The numbers of collapsed buildings and those fighting for life under are unfathomable.
It's so bad that Turkey has declared a state four level emergency, it's an international call for help.
Thoughts and prayers are heartwarming and mean a lot, but if you're able to donate just one dollar/euro or anything at all, please do. Turkish Lira is at an all time low right now, we are in the middle of an economic crisis. Imagine some currency is 20 dollars each, that's how bad it is.
1 dollar = 18 turkish liras 1 euro = 20 turkish liras
Therefore, this kind of money is lifechanging right now, so don't feel bad you aren't doing anything by donating so little, you're making considerable change. If you're able to help, please help.
Here are places you can donate to and explanations of the work they do

hi, if you want to help people affected by the earthquakes in turkey but don't want to support government-affiliated channels, AKUT and AHBAP are two trusted non-governmental organizations you can donate. AKUT's website supports english and this tweet shows how you can donate to AHBAP (the website does not support english as of now). HAYTAP is another turkish organization that helps our animal friends and you can see how you can donate to them here. this twitter account shares multiple translations for people to find medicine, food, water, and other supplies in the region.
multiple earthquakes killed already more than 14 thousand people already and it's very cold. every little bit helps, thank you.
editing to add: this linktree also has additional resources for syria as well although i cannot confirm if they're reliable, please let me know!

These are just a few of the countries sent us their search and rescue teams including Ukraine even though they already are fighting a war, more than 7.000 thousand people all around the world performing miracles with our teams in a race against time. It's cold, there are just too many buildings and hundred of thousands trapped yet after 6 days they are not giving up. I can't find words to describe my feelings. I barely slept since Monday morning. I am safe in my city İzmir but this devastation is beyond anything I've witnessed in my life. I hope you all stay safe and warm with your loved ones.
If any of you by chance see your volunteers thank them for me please❤️
