As much as ​I enjoyed thunderforce five and twenty forty five and a couple others, I also understand that the naming of the year is a ritualistic process which requires a certain amount of exhaustion and despair. According to the ancient texts, the name of the year is not chosen by the brothers, but rather whispered to them by the primal forces accessed through this comedic trance.

Tummy Buddy Life: Dare to Care is the name of the year that chose us, and I have full faith that it will carry us to where we need to be.

Tummy Buddy Life: Dare 2 Care to me is wholly about the message of sharing meals with one another as a way of reaching out and giving yourself to others during this dark time. obviously it sounds a little bananas and they clearly backed into it but this is one of the year namings, message-wise, that has sincerely resonated with me. Why are people being so mean about the year theme? Did I miss something? Literally why is it bad? It's just a bit?

Like maybe I'm just autistic or it means something rude i dont know but like the "this is why you should eat before doing stuff" "we can love it ironically" "it's a dud" "it's bad" ????

I'm pretty new to the fandom so maybe I just don't know anything but I think everybody's just being mean and it seems to be widely okay and encouraged? It does not feel good spirited. I thought yall liked these people??

I think most of it is good spirited. For some people the concept of tummy buddy is uncomfortable for their own reasons. I think more than anything it's the buildup of the episode to it-- there were so many bangers that did actually rhyme and felt more theme-y or actionable. Truly I think the two hour descent into madness of the episode spread through us all. As with most mbmbam things, the name is a bit, and the reaction to it will be a bit. As one of the most highly anticipated events in the MBMBaM/McElroy community, the hype is bound to exceed whatever they land upon. Especially after the banger of twenty fungalore

Personally I was like what is happening. How is this it. And went through like five stages of grief listening throught to the end of the episode. But I have come around to committing to the bit as bonkers as it is.
