I am so sick and tired of seeing interesting posts that I CAN'T REBLOG. Some of them, I can't even comment on! 🤦��♀️

Like, why are you even on this site if you don't want any interaction? Was the block feature not good enough?

Also, this site has always allowed you to make private posts invisible to the public. This useless "feature" was never necessary, and all it does is unnecessarily anger people. There's no point in having posts that can be read, but not reblogged.

If you don't like what I'm saying, feel free to block me.

Introducing: Reblog Controls

This is not a drill, repeat, this is not a drill—we are rolling out reblog controls across web and iOS, starting today. 

How does it work?

When drafting a post, select the settings cog in the top right corner of your post editor. From here, you can choose one of two options.

“Anyone (on Tumblr)” means just that.

“No one” means that your post cannot be reblogged by anyone, ever.

Why?

Your wish is our command. Many of you have told us this feature would give you a welcome sense of safety. If you block someone after the post was made, don’t worry—they still can’t reblog it. This change gives you control over your own posts, and so will improve your posting experience. Ultimately, better posting means a better Tumblr. And finally, don’t worry, Android users. The feature will follow on your platform soon.

Lo pubblico qui, caso mai dovesse servire a qualcuno.

E' sempre la storia del backup, partita anni fa in maniera completamente diversa, perché mi ero messo in testa di fare la app Android di Tumblr (per chi mi segue dal 2019, si ricorderà di Rumble), ma dopo tanto studio sulle API capii che non era proprio fisicamente possibile riuscire nell'impresa, e recuperai tutto il codice scritto per farmi dei programmi di gestione del mio blog, che tuttora uso, tra cui la possibilità di fare in autonomia (e ne ho fatti tanti anche a voi) il backup del blog, soprattutto negli anni dove con Tumblr non ne voleva sapere di funzionare.

Il problema di una app che fa il backup, così come fare il backup tramite Tumblr, è che ogni volta devi ricordarti di usarla, ed è una rottura di cazzi, diciamocelo, io per primo me lo dimentico, col risultato che passano i mesi e l'ultimo backup magari risale ad un anno fa.

Fortuna che la mamma ha speso tanti soldi per farmi studiare, e l'impulso a risolvere il problema l'ho avuto quando ho acquistato l'anno scorso come regalo per Natale un ben Synology DS223j, e mi son detto "ma questo è un aggeggio che mi fa i backup di tutto, se modifico tutto quello che ho fatto per tirarne fuori un giocattolino piccolo piccolo che gira ogni sera su questo bagaglio e mi fa il backup direttamente sui miei dischi, beh, siamo ad asino", e quindi

Non è della serie "scarica ed esegui", eh, però ho provato a documentarne l'uso, per chi si vuole cimentare, e si accettano ovviamente critiche e consigli (e anche modifiche!)

Mo' ogni notte questo gingillo gira e mi fa il backup incrementale delle ultime modifiche dei 3 blog che ho.

Insomma, per la serie, fallimento di Tumblr non ti temo.

- follow the gimmick blogs. thats literally it they reblog good shit

- I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, reblog posts (dont just like them thats lame.)

- there is no algorithm.

- interact with people!!! SEND ASKS (SEND ME ASKS SEND ME ASKS)

- when blocking porn bots, mark them as spam instead of sexual content. i read somewhere on here that gets rid of them faster

- check trending every now and then to see whats going on. bonus points if spn is trending (its the only way i get news)

- get involved in fandom! thats the whole site

- make sure you are having fun :)

- hydrate

- who cares if you have followers? nobody. this is no mans land baby! live like its 2010 but 10 years later!

- if you’re really new, customise your profile. people might think ur a bot if u dont. u will get blocked

- nobody cares what you reblog. if you want to reblog 20 billion posts about loki then do it! its your blog!!!

- spread positive vibes. be nice. its not that hard.

- go read some yaoi nerd

- use tags, at least on original posts

- use gifs

- if you make a post and somebody reblogs your post and you like their reblog? you just liked your own post lol

- don’t like, don’t read/interact. same goes for ao3 and literally anything else. its not worth your time babe move on.
