The Chenka Sisters Return for One Last Hurrah
Story details and cover artwork are today revealed for the sixth and final full-cast audio box set in the acclaimed range, The Robots, due for release in April 2023 from Big Finish Productions.
BAFTA-nominees Nicola Walker (Annika, Marriage, The Split) and Claire Rushbrook (Magpie Murders, Enola Holmes, Sherwood) reprise the roles of Liv and Tula Chenka in three brand-new adventures.
During the events of Doctor Who: Ravenous 2, Liv left the Doctor and the TARDIS behind for one year to reconnect with her sister on Kaldor. But she soon discovered that technology was accelerating rapidly – causing the most turbulent time in the world’s history...
Now, it's Liv’s last few months on Kaldor with Tula and tensions are rising both between them and on the streets. Can the Chenka sisters prevent a massive disaster with the deadline looming?
The Worlds of Doctor Who – The Robots 6 is now available to pre-order as a 3-disc collector’s edition CD box set (+ download for just £19.99) or a download only (for just £16.99) here.
Force Of Nature by Helen Goldwyn
A month after Tula’s enhancement chip was compromised, she and Liv join a compulsory ‘Recovery Training Course’ to help rehabilitate those infected. But they soon become embroiled in the tensions between the course participants and a very human-like SuperVoc – seemingly with its own agenda...
Face To Face by John Dorney
When Tula wakes to find some strangely familiar faces in her living room, a battle of wills breaks out. Not everyone can leave... but will they let the right one out?
The Final Hour by Matt Fitton
Liv Chenka’s time on Kaldor is almost at an end. The Company seems more powerful than ever. There’s unrest on the streets, the people are scared. And Tula is in trouble with her boss... But there are those who stand against the Company. Those with a new vision of the future for Kaldor and its Robots. An intricate plan is in motion – the Chenka sisters are about to spend their final hour on the planet.
David Richardson said: “I don’t want it to end! The Robots has just been a total joy to work on. 18 recording days of laughter and great work, and six box sets of top-notch storytelling. The Chenka sisters have become such a big part of Big Finish, and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the terrific pairing of Nicola and Claire. They’ve brought so much to the characters and to every recording day – it’s just been such a joy.”
The talented ensemble cast members featuring in this sci-fi thriller include Jon Culshaw (as Vash Sorkov), Tracy Wiles (as both SV94 and Jadia), and Sarah Lambie (as Graf Kirran).
The Worlds of Doctor Who – The Robots 6 is now available to pre-order for just £19.99 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £16.99 (download only).
Big Finish listeners can save money and catch up on Volume 5 by pre-ordering it with Volume 6 in a bundle for just £38 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £33 (download only).
All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.

I’d watch that in a heartbeat. Though, Nicola is correct that they’d get more ‘screen-time’ with the audios.

The last volume of The Robots is out this week. I am looking forward to it because I love the Chenka sisters. I know Liv will be okay because she appears afterwards with the eighth doctor, but given the end of the last volume Tula is in serious danger. If she does not survive I will be Unhappy.

Ooh yes, Escape from Kaldor - which spawned 6 series of The Robots, which feature Liv and her sister Tula, and which ends very soon (March or April - can’t recall which right now).
Though I don’t think @thisbluespirit approves of what Big Finish have done with Kaldor. (Though I belive she approves of them bringing David Collings back to reprise his role as Poul, before his death.)
I know you love Robots of Death, and Pers Books may have already told you about this, but I’m listening to Ravenous 2 and the first story is Escape from Kaldor . And as of now, definitely recommend!!
Aw, good! <3

Liv Chenka on TV? Nicola Walker "Would Love to" Play the Doctor Who Companion Again
Liv Chenka on TV? Nicola Walker "Would Love to" Play the #DoctorWho Companion Again
Nicola Walker has featured in some of the finest British television dramas of recent years, but of course Doctor Who fans know her for playing audio-only companion Liv Chenka. Having featured in 28 Big Finish releases already, totalling over 80 episodes in Doctor Who releases and The Robots spin-off series, and with Russell T Davies plucking characters out of other mediums to bring into the TV…

TDP 1155: Robots volume 6 from #bigfinish review doctorwho
https://bbvproductions.co.uk/products/Faction-Paradox-The-Confession-of-Brother-Signet-AUDIO-DOWNLOAD-p389922366
This title was released in April 2023. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until 31st May 2023, and on general sale after this date.
During the events of Doctor Who: Ravenous 2, Liv Chenka left the Doctor and the TARDIS behind. Just for one year. A year during which she would live on Kaldor, and get to know her sister Tula all over again.
But Kaldor is going through a period of tumultuous change. Technology is changing at an advanced rate - the robots are evolving, artificial intelligence is adapting, and with these changes so politics is altering too. Dangerously.
Can Liv and Tula make a difference during the most turbulent time in the world’s history?
6.1 Force of Nature by Helen Goldwyn A month after Tula’s enhancement chip was compromised, she and Liv join a compulsory ‘Recovery Training Course’ to help rehabilitate those infected. But they soon become embroiled in the tensions between the course participants and a very human-like SuperVoc - seemingly with its own agenda...
6.2 Face to Face by John Dorney When Tula wakes to find some strangely familiar faces in her living room, a battle of wills breaks out. Not everyone can leave... but will they let the right one out?
6.3 The Final Hour by Matt Fitton Liv Chenka’s time on Kaldor is almost at an end. The Company seems more powerful than ever. There’s unrest on the streets, the people are scared. And Tula is in trouble with her boss... But there are those who stand against the Company. Those with a new vision of the future for Kaldor and its Robots. An intricate plan is in motion - the Chenka sisters are about to spend their final hour on the planet.

Absolutely adore The Robots Volume 5, an amazing release and such a pick-me-up. I missed this Liv, and I missed her and Tula’s snarky sibling bond so much. If anything bad happens to Tula, I am going to riot.

The image of Tula coming home and turning the light on to find Liv sat ominously in the corner because "what? I think better in the dark"... that is some very Time Lord behaviour right there, Liv.

Hi, same person who send thenask about the Robots. I just finished it and it was so heartwarming. Liv telling Tula she loved her. Liv and the Doctor talking and hugging. Robot!Liv staying with Tula. I adored it all. I'll miss Tula very very much. thanks
Awwwww! I'm so glad to hear it! It was just a perfect ending, wasn't it! And I really really hope Eight, Liv and Helen run into Tula and Robot!Liv at some point! I mean... Helen wouldn't know what to do with herself with there were two Livs, would she 😬😜😳

(sorry for talking about the audios again! anyway.)
i've been thinking about eight, liv and helen again, as you do, and uh. came to the realisation that there's never any indication made in canon that eight and liv have ever actually told helen about anything that happened to them during dark eyes, before they met her? off the top of my head, i can only think of about 3 direct references to dark eyes in their audios together (2 of which are made while helen is elsewhere, the one where she is there being liv's "you think i've forgotten molly? martin? any of them?" in ship in a bottle), and i'm just. hm. i get there's a gap in the narrative between dark eyes and doom coalition, but even then... eight and liv both suffered a lot, and had to watch their closest friend die, and i don't think they magically got over it. i don't think any of that pain disappeared.
and they're sitting on all this pain and grief and they just. never tell her. helen doesn't know.
#i am incredibly invested in these characters but i have no one irl or online to talk about them with so!!! here we are#anyway i just have a lot of feelings about this yknow#bethan talks about dw#bethan listens to big finish#helen sinclair#liv chenka#eighth doctor#this was partly triggered by listening to the robots (which is really good btw. 10/10 would recommend)#and they bring up at one point that tula (liv's sister) has No Idea about - at the very least - the time liv spent in stasis on the orpheus#and presumably also doesn't know about the events that led to liv making that choice#and it made me realise that uh. helen doesn't know either. there's never any indication that they tell her

Nicola Walker looking fucking adorable, with Claire Rushbrook and Louise Jameson at the recording of Robots Volume 3 from Big Finish (recorded WAY back in pre-Covid times!)
Louise Jameson is directing two of the three stories in this boxset which sees Nicola and Claire once again playing the newly-reunited sisters Liv and Tula Chenka (respectively).
Also starring are Pamela Salem and the late David Collings (reprising their roles as Toos and Poul from the original Robots of Death TV serial) and Susan Penhaligon.
