Absolutely no one is pressuring me, the creation of this schedule is for myself! I am forcing myself to pace on certain commission types and to take a few break nights! I noticed that I would quickly try and get quick sketches done, which cut into working on my bigger pieces. To help me out, I've made myself a lil schedule! Definitely not experiencing any exhaustion or burn-out, but I do want to make sure I put things in place to keep this happy productivity going! My Sketch Comms will be worked in one go (if I have them) on Tuesdays and Saturdays, unless I have no other commissions I'm working on. My other work days are dedicated to my bigger commissions! And of course my break days are my break days. @thesixthplaneteer needs me around SOOOMetimes. <3 I know you guys probably don't mind/need this, but I'm always obsessed with visibility.

The New Sot Times - Jan. 2018
Yo! Just giving some updates here.
- The Patreon is going well. Various sketches and other bonus content that I don’t believe warrants their own posts on my galleries go there. You’re free to explore the stuff there with a pledge of 5$, and if you can’t afford it- just take back your pledge before the end of the month. It’s that easy. Keep in mind that eventually the patreon will be ‘charge up-front’ in the future. When this happens, I still strongly recommend waiting until the beginning of the month before getting charged.
- There will be streams Saturday thru Tuesday every week around midday (PST). Related to the patreon, I have reached the milestone goal for more streams. My work schedule has also become very steadfast these days too, so it’s all come together. You will receive an update here and on twitter when the stream is up.
- I am currently getting through a decent chunk of commissions, and keeping myself busy with that. Expect most to all new posts to be commissions. I even have a story I’m working on with a friend, and you’ll be seeing some writing of mine in the future.
- I am planning on going to BLFC, and if I’m feeling extra lucky, MFF. I want to do some sort of special commissions for trip savings. Most likely these will be my first YCH commissions. if not that, they will be Pay-What-You-Want comms. These commissions (YCH or otherwise) may also be growth sequences.
That’s it for now. Here are some links. Have a great day everyone!

As usual lately, the upcoming week is pretty full with non-art work, I’ll post about it on Ko-Fi again for those not on here. Feel free to follow up on there if you have a current slot on there to check in. All comms are at the clean (or cleanish) sketch stage or I require more info from clients to proceed.
As I mentioned before, if you’re unhappy with the wait, as I know it’s been substantially longer than my previous turnarounds (to think I did entire comms in 1 or 2 days years ago❓Though that was a lot on my body don’t do that), I’m totally fine refunding you and cancelling the slot, I didn’t expect to have so little time or energy (when I actually have time TO work on comms) nor for it to take this long months ago. If anyone wants one, I’ll be able to refund about Monday night or early Tuesday as that’s when I get paid. Seems like Ko-Fi can take a bit to get through the process, so be aware of that.

Note taking tips
Okay so...not exactly a lot of followers on here, but I'd like to share my tips, if not for anyone else than for me bc I am taking a break for summer & don't want to forget all of my strategies. SO! I personalize my note taking strategies for each & every classroom. For example... -in my classical music study class, I use OneNote & my laptop to record the class because it's an audio class, but my teacher (most of the time) gives out guided notes, so I mark, write, & highlight all over those. Then, when it comes time for reviewing, I make a Quizlet of the practice test he gives us. Try to use the cornell method to revise important info after class. -I don't take notes in my comms class -I kept spacing out in my bio class when I was trying to just type my notes into onenote bc the class is 2 hrs 20 mins, so I got a notebook & still record the class, but I also make my own notes. I don't really have time to revise a lot in between classes. I also mark the time I'm out of class to walk around a bit, stretch, use the bathroom, fill my water bottle, etc because I won't be able to concentrate when I don't. When it comes down to studying, he gives out a study guide but it's usually heckin long & maybe 35% of the info is actually on the test so I'll look at the topics I don't remember/know & write down info about these. Other than that, I look at the chapter review at the end of the chapter, ignoring the topics we didn't talk about, & my labs- especially if it involved drawing some sort of diagram or if it was related to the chapter. I would read all of the book, but I simply don't have the time (working full time & going to school full time) plus he doesn't really care about a good deal of the info, especially the detail the book goes into. There's a lot of info but I don't have a lot of time to review & revise between classes so I go into a lot of detail in my notes during the lecture (I once drew out a rough sketch of the brain & went through & highlighted everything); however, the only reason I can do this is because my professor stammers/stutters & repeats the same info a lot. That's the only time I'd ever recommend doing that, because you're supposed to spend 80% of your time/attention listening. -for my psych class, he uses nothing but a PowerPoint so I just type my notes directly into onenote while recording the class. I already know a lot of the info from my high school psych class, so I write down the new info & mention any changed definitions for his class but otherwise don't stress about it. Some things I have learned while working full time & going to school full time: 1. You really need to be good at managing your time. I am not the best. On my days off, I procrastinate doing my work because I want to sleep, do fun stuff or, on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, have the luxury of doing absolutely nothing all day. 2. Sometimes, it's best to just turn an assignment in late. There have been a few times where I could choose to sacrifice the little sleep I have to try to get an assignment done- & if I can sleep the whole day the next day, I do it. However, it's usually not my best work, & that's usually not what happens, so I just send it in late- because I usually have a day off in between my class days, so if it's due Tuesday I send it electronically Wednesday or turn it in Thursday. Speaking of... 3. Sometimes, I try to load myself up on Mountain Dew before I go home so I can ~get stuff done~ later at night (I get out of work at 1:30 am, at the EARLIEST). I'd say that 95% of the time, that turned into me procrastinating on my phone for an hour, getting tired, & going to bed- only to be kept up by the Mountain Dew. I've learned to combat this by cleaning my apartment so I work off the caffeine while also doing something remedial (not requiring much brain power so I'm not waking myself up even more) & productive...but it probably would've just been better if I went to bed so I could get up at an earlier time. 4. Communicate with your boss. I work in fast food, & telling my boss my schedule way ahead of time has helped me, ESPECIALLY writing it down somewhere. Sometimes it gets lost, but if I already told him verbally as well he usually remembers & asks me again if he needs to. I'm really lucky- my boss knows how important my schooling is for me & does his best to not mess with my hours, although if he forgets, I can usually remind him & just get it altered slightly. However, a big part of this is being flexible in return. On days I don't have classes, if I see a certain part of a shift is short, I offer to work a split. He cut my hours a little so I could study for finals, but I've still been picking up extra hours on short shifts here & there- & offering BEFORE he has to go asking around. I've told him I don't really mind only having one day off opposed to two days if two of my shifts are half-shifts (4 hours) anyway. It's all about being flexible in return :) 5. Let your professors know! They're usually a little lenient (or at least sympathetic) when they know, & may cut you some slack. I'm not saying go crying for attention, but just offer some explanation for some of your behaviors. Just saying "I'm sorry, my paper was late because I'm working full time & I have classes [time to time] & my next day off wasn't until [today/yesterday], I didn't realize it was due this day, etc." may not get you any points back but at least they'll understand that you're not just being lazy. 6. Study when you can! Sometimes I make notecards so I can look at them while I'm order taking at the drive through (because customers often "need a moment" but you don't know when they're going to start talking again so you stay near the order-taking bubble) or paying out at the drive through so I can duck out of sight of any customers & study during a particularly long order. That being said, I usually try to help bag up everything, but if they already have a bagger, there's not much I can do. Don't let this hinder your job performance (AKA don't do this if there's more to be done like making drinks), & if your bosses get mad at you just study on your break, but if they don't mind or don't say anything then do it. Hope this has helped some of you!

Week 1 (June 13- June 22, 2018)
Day 1: June 13, 2018, Wednesday
June 13 was first day of my OJT! I woke up early, thrilled yet anxious. Thrilled, in such a way that I would get to work for a company, meet other talented designers, learn from them and also experience the agony of commuting, facing the traffic and heat because I don’t usually commute going to school like other students do; anxious of what will happen. I still doubt myself, of what I’m capable of doing in terms of arts…
Enough of the drama. I arrived in the office early. I was so nervous of what will happen on my first day but everything went well. I got accepted in a branding and digital marketing agency named Mindfuse. Even if they’re a small company, they already got big clients. I think this is a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to working with them. The CEO of the company, Mr. Jay Bernabe, was very kind and entirely accommodating. He gave an orientation about what the company is all about, asked our strengths and weaknesses in which I can develop along our stay in the company and also our expectations in Mindfuse.
In my mind, weakness is immutable. But Mr. Jay told us that our weakness can change through time. I snapped and realized that I can beat my weakness. I shall not treat myself as a kid anymore because I’m a step away to reality. After that discussion, I gained more confidence and trust to myself that I can do it and enhance my skills in editing. I came hope tired though my first day went great.
After the orientation, he disseminated the tasks to the interns. He positioned me in social media marketing of Mindfuse where I will edit images and upload them on Mindfuse's Instagram account, also Facebook. Timely, it was Independence Day yesterday so I edited an Independence Day greetings to post it on the company’s Instagram account. Additionally, Mr. Jay told us to create a social media calendar to effectively strategize and carefully monitor our posts for the social media accounts. With my co-intern, we also created a feed guide for the company’s Instagram account to organize and plan accordingly the images that we’ll upload so we could achieve an eye appealing feed.
Day 2: June 14, 2018, Thursday
Today the second day and the last day of my first week. Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to work in the office because our head (Sir Jay) said that we needed to work from home on that day because he had some emergency to attend to. Since our office was just in a condo unit and he’s the only one holding the key, we had to adjust.
I have co-intern, Chloe, I know her since first year college. It’s great to have someone you know in a workplace. Chloe and I both have the same feeling, we’re still overwhelmed with the OJT. We were supposed to shoot at the office but unfortunately we had to work at home as told by our head. We decided to have a shoot at her place so we meet at 12:00 noon, bought some materials and went to her place to accomplish the tasks. The shoot was all about the “Back-to-School Survival Kit” and we were planning on posting it on Monday, June 18 2018. There were some unexpected changes so we had to adjust and modify the social media calendar and Instagram feed guide. But honestly, we were confused and we still didn’t know what we’re supposed to do but we just continued what we did on the first day. I think it’s normal to feel that way because we’re still adjusting.
Day 3: June 18, 2018, Monday
Monday means a new start of the week! Or I feel like it is a continuation of last week (June 13-14)… two days left me hanging. Though, calendar wise! I’m on my second week today. There was a new task given to me and that is to think of a new content for the work/client page of the upcoming website of Mindfuse. He told us to imagine Mindfuse as our client. But before giving the task to us, Mr. Jay discussed and taught us the meaning of branding and identity. I learned a lot of things in branding, identity, positioning, digital marketing, logo studies, etc. This is what I love about our boss. He didn’t just let his interns do a particular work but also he let them learn new things while in the process. After the discussion, my co-intern and I talked about the layouts and sketched some possible contents for the work page. Thus, this week will be allotted for the planning of the website page. We also had a mini shoot for an Instagram post but the photos wasn’t posted.
Day 4: June 19, 2018, Tuesday
Second day of my first week! I always arrive in the office so early that Sir Jay tend to text me if he’s on the way, stuck in traffic or if he’s in the office already. When I arrived in the office, I opened my laptop and continued the job that I was tasked to do yesterday and that is content mapping. Together with my co-intern, we were about to illustrate our plans directly on the editing software but our boss told us to write it all down first before putting it on the editing software because it is much easier and saves more time. He wrote down all the clients of Mindfuse and each service that they’ve provided. With that, we composed a Google sheet to organize and classify which is which. The sheet was composed of the clients, actual works of the company, the process in making them and where the works were applied. We also had a shoot for an Instagram post. The concept of the photo was all about planning first before jumping right away to the actual work.
Day 5: June 20, 2018, Wednesday
I’m in the middle of my first week! A new intern just got accepted yesterday and decided to start today. She’s a comm student, also from Miriam College. Mr. Jay let her work with us so we explained to her what we needed to do. We planned together and did content mapping. To further understand the task that we need to accomplish, Mr. Jay briefed us about the company. He, again, explained that Mindfuse is a branding and a digital marketing agency. But it didn’t end there, they’re also a design studio, for graphics, marketing consultancy, strategists and for website development. I learned that their purpose isn’t only about designing but also creating strategies for them to help their clients connect with their customers. One great thing I knew about the company was that they do not forget the perspective of the customers. They prioritize the user experience because other companies forget to consider the experience of their consumers over their design.
Moreover, Mr. Jay discussed about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and the important factors. Our goal is to be in the organic search. To get there, we need to master the factors (on page SEO, the duration, and content) and every page on the website has to have relevant keywords. Today I discovered what generic and long-tailed keywords stand for. Under each client, we listed down all the keywords, which are the necessary to the services that Mindfuse provided and added them all to the Google sheet. During lunchtime, our boss bought pizza for us so we had a free lunch! In the afternoon, we took a photo and posted it on Instagram. The idea of the photo was to have the basic essentials to be productive. Then before we went home, we all decided to Rules of Survival. What a fun day!
Day 6: June 21, 2018, Thursday
Down to my second to the last day of my first week. I would like to share my daily routine before I enter the office because I already got used to it and I felt like I’ve already adjusted within the week. Usually, before 10:00 A.M. is my approximate arrival time in building where my office is located. They have strict security men that kept on stopping me from entering because I’m a visitor. When in fact, I am an intern there. But there are times that I can get away with it, only if the same guard was on duty the other day and still in charge for today. Though, I planned on walking straight to sign up on the logbook because I already knew and that they won’t demand me to do it. It just irritate me.
Fast forward to when I arrived in our office. Minutes after I sat down, Sir Jay called me and asked me to edit the work “EXPERIENCE” with a glitch effect to put it on Vista Cinemas’ brand bible. I then made four different studies and sent them to him. After lunch I continued the work that I did this week. While working, Sir Jay came near to our desk and asked as to present our progress. I wasn’t ready but the show must go on. I just read what’s on the Google sheet and explained what’s in there. After presenting the agendas, he invited us to sit near his desk. He shared to us what we needed to do for next week. He also mentioned that we have a shoot in Rockwell Club by Wednesday or Thursday next week. I got thrilled because we’re going to actually shoot a specific client.
Day 7: June 22, 2018, Friday
Week 1 is finally down! My first week’s been great so far. Though, I had to work from home because Sir Jay will be out and he has a whole day meeting today. The first week was allotted to content planning and content mapping. Just like what I did throughout this week, I just edited and enhanced my works. I drew my final drafts for following clients (Imprenta Ko, GH Heritage and Rockwell Club) that was assigned to me. I finished Imprenta Ko and Rockwell club first then planned on finishing GH Heritage later tonight because I’m having a creative block. I took a break after Rockwell Club’s drafts. I checked on my Instagram and saw the photo that I edited yesterday in Mindfuse’s page. I didn’t know that Sir Jay would post it. It made me feel flattered after seeing that photo.
I’m almost done with GH Heritage and I just realized that working at home is very different from working in the office. However, there are people who prefer working at home more than in the actual company. But I’m more of a company person since it gives me more energy and pushes me to grow as a designer. Ironically, I worked at home on the last day of my first week.

Block Party on Fifth Avenue!
New York City's special museum season kicks off on June 13th with the Museum Mile Festival. Several museums keep their doors open longer than usual and offer free admission to patrons. Your New York City student tour group will enjoy visits to these museums: (1) On June 13th, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum begins its Summer Tuesdays series with extended hours until 9 p.m. As your New York City school trip walks around the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed rotunda, your New York City educational tour group will enjoy work by artists including Kandinsky, Picasso, van Gogh and Pollock, who also has his own show, “Jackson Pollock: Exploring Alchemy” through September 6th.
(2) Viewing all of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's galleries could take a New York City school trip days but this summer make sure your New York City student tour group sees the new Costume Institute exhibit, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”, focusing on the Japanese fashion designer, and “Sara Berman’s Closet”, a re-creation filled with shoes, clothes, linens, beauty products, luggage and other necessities, all in shades of white. The Roof Garden Bar offers summer treats with dazzling views of New York City.
(3) The American Museum of Natural History offers both children and adults the opportunity to sleepover at the museum. If your New York City educational tour group prefers to visit while the sun is out, make sure your New York City school trip does not miss the museum’s newest exhibit, “Mummies”, which looks at the mummification practices of ancient Egyptians and Peruvians; and displays such as “The Titanosaur”, “Cuba” and “Opulent Oceans” as well as the film “Humpback Whales”.
(4) The New York Historical Society celebrates the 100th anniversary of the United States' entry into World War I. New York City student tour groups have a chance to explore how American artists reacted to the conflict with “World War I Beyond the Trenches”, featuring artwork by John Singer Sargent, Georgia O’Keeffe and others, as well as toys and posters. The exhibit, "Elosie at the Museum", takes a closer look at the minds, sketches and manuscripts behind the picture-book heroine. End your visit with a treat from the recently opened Parliament Espresso and Coffee Bar.
(5) On the first Saturday of every month, the Brooklyn Museum stays up late. Target First Saturdays allow New York City school trip groups to explore exhibits until 11 p.m. Enjoy “Georgia O’Keeffe: Living Modern”, “We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85”, and “Infinite Blue”. Independence Day is celebrated in July and Caribbean culture will be celebrated in August. Stop by the cafe for a snack or an Artist Sandwich, inspired by artists featured at the museum.
