AHHH IM LATE!! But oh my god I'm so glad I participated in this week!! I've never done a themed week before so I'm really happy I actually did it!! I had so much fun! This is also my first time lining a comic digitally so please zoom in if a panel is too tiny or blury!! Gurren Lagann was always meant a lot to me even though I got into it way later than it's prime but I'm really happy that it had a little resurgence this year so I can watxh it again and fall in love with it again!! I'll probably post a part 2 to this of the sketches and some old drawings from when I first got into it for nostalgia

Setting: Ruby is setting on a bench in the middle of the night.

Weiss: ...What are you doing?

Ruby: Waiting.

Weiss: For...?

Ruby: Oh, I got a date tonight. They're gonna pick me up here.

Weiss: ...A date? With who?

Ruby: Oh, you don't know him.

Weiss: ...Try me.

Ruby: No, really. He's from out of town.

Weiss: Right...you sure this mystery guy that nobody met isn't from Imagination Land?

Ruby: Oh no, he's real.

Weiss: Yeah, I'm sure. Hey, if he does show up, then be sure to ask him if he's ever met my old boyfriend. We lost contact after I entered grade-

Suddenly, a loud popping noise. Weiss looks up to see a large, green spiral erupt in the sky. In another flash of light, she watches as a red, humanoid machine hovers down from the sky in front of Ruby.

Weiss: ...What?

Ruby: Simon!

The machine's head opens up, revealing Simon.

Weiss: What?!

Simon: Hey, Ruby. Ready to go.

Ruby: Totes! Don't wait up, Weiss!

Ruby hops into the mech and sits on Simon's lap.

Simon: Lagann! Let's go!

The small mech then just blasts off into the sky.

Weiss: ...WHAT?!
