Character Inspiration- Usagi Tsukigami
Both Alice Tsukagami and Usagi Tsukino (top and center right), while no longer holding any actual inspiration to the character herself aside from the name, were the two that sparked the initial creation of Usagi. Somewhere down the line I decided that I wanted to go with a moon rabbit theme when it was announced that Rise was going to be heavily inspired by old Japanese folklore, these two were the first characters I immediately thought of. While Usagi wound up going a completely different path than what I had originally started with, she held a lot of Tsukino's ... I don't wanna say laziness, but if there's something Tsukigami does not want to do, she will complain and avoid it until she's dragged into doing it. Admittedly, I do think she picked up a liiiiittle bit of Tsukino's airheaded-ness.
Zero from Drakengard 3 (Center left) was the primary inspiration of Usagi's initial design. Both of my Rise hunters took a lot of physical inspiration off the DrakenNier series, Usagi's brother taking inspiration from Brother Nier. I could say Yonah was also in mind when working with Usagi. During her very first initial design, Gabi Braun is what I had in mind for Usagi, but wound up pitching it before I even had her created in game.
Hillary Banks (Bottom left) was straight up the bad and boujee lifestyle that wound up imprinting on Usagi. Part of the idea for Usagi's personality was that I wanted her to be the polar opposite of of my first hunter, Itzska, a woman rough around the edges and reeking of confidence/swagger. This is what initially prompted Usagi's incredibly vain and impulsive lifestyle in both her life as a hunter and as a villager of Kamura. As for her confidence... Asuka Langley Sohryu (Bottom Right) has a knack of making her way into all of my characters one way or another. It's a story for another time, but long story short, the death of her father had lead to a domino effect where Usagi has tied her self-worth with her ability to hunt and her looks, desperate for validation almost exclusively towards her mentor, Utsushi. At the start of Rise, Usagi is at her peak confidence, but after an incident during the Apex Arzuros where she falls in battle and because of it leaves Utsushi in critical condition, her confidence as a hunter crumbles to absolutely nothing. This leads her to act more reckless in future hunts, desperate to prove herself as a hunter as she begins to mentally crack from the weight of expectation of the village's safety, even moreso when the Kingdom gets involved. And while Asuka was an inspiration to Usagi's struggles as a hunter--
Cassie Howard (Top Left), outside of sharing daddy issues, nails Usagi on the head when it comes to her struggles as a young woman in love. Desperate for Utsushi's affection, Usagi has no self-respect for herself. She is the type who could make a self-care routine look unhealthy and self-destructive, and will gladly push herself beyond her comfort and/or her limits if it means there's a slight chance that she might earn his attention. This spirals out of control throughout the latter half of Rise as she becomes more unhinged and self-centered, until her inevitable crash and burn mid Sunbreak.
(I promise I got actual content coming, just a lot of drafts and frustratingly nothing to show for it.)

Happy Birthday to the Tsukigami brothers!
I love that their birthdays are only one day apart! Headcanon time: When Kaito was born only a day after Haruto's birthday, their parents told Haruto that he got a baby brother as his birthday present and it was the best gift Haruto has ever gotten.

[Translation] StarMyu April Fools 2020 Tweets
StarMyu’s joining in on the April Fools’ fun for this year again~! Their theme this time is Astronomical Club~! It’s only for one day, so go check official Twitter (@/hstar_mu) while you can~!
Also in PDF here: PDF

[April 1]
This is Ayanagi Academy Astronomical Club’s Official Twitter.
Hoshitani Yuuta has finally reunited with his admired Astronomy Club president Otori Itsuki, and has now started doing his best in the Astronomical Club in order to find a new dream! Using the official Twitter account, we will be delivering everyone in Team Otori’s daily lives for everyone to enjoy! ☆彡\
More under the cut, enjoy~!
[Astronomical Club: 1]
HOSHITANI: I don’t know of a way to give up on the stars! NAYUKI/KAITO/KAKERU/KUGA: Eh? HOSHITANI: I mean, Haruto-san discovered a new star, didn’t he? I wanna try discovering a new one, too! KAITO: … Good grief. TENGENJI: New stars aren’t that easy to find, you boor. KUGA: But Haruto-san found at least 8610 of them, right? NAYUKI: He is the Prince of the Astronomical Society, after all.
[Astronomical Club: 2]
OTORI: New stars? I like the sound of that. HOSHITANI: Do you think I’ll be able to find some? OTORI: You will, I’m sure of it! And then maybe we can call that star “Yuuta” or something~? HOSHITANI: Eh?! OTORI: And then I can say things like, “Oh, I can see the Yuuta star right now~” you know? HOSHITANI: Will you also say “It’s cloudy today, so I can’t see the Yuuta star. How unfortunate!” or something? That’s amazing! OTORI: Ahahaha.
[To be continued]
 [Astronomical Club: 3]
HOSHITANI: Where are you, stars~? NAYUKI: Fufu. Hoshitani-kun’s really determined to find them, huh. HOSHITANI: Yup, I’m looking for the Yuuta star! NAYUKI: Eh? Is there a star named like that? HOSHITANI: Ah, crap! I’m looking for a star that can be named “Yuuta,” I mean…! NAYUKI: That’s… Oh, so you meant that you were looking for a star for that purpose? You were serious about it…?
 [Astronomical Club: 4]
HOSHITANI: Where are you, stars~? KAITO: Hoshitani, I heard the situation from Nayuki… And I agree with what Tengenji said when he mentioned that they’re not easy to find. It’d be impossible with the telescope here in the Astronomy Club… HOSHITANI: Eh, is that so? Otori-senpai said that I’d be able to find one though… KAITO: Eh? Do you want me to ask my brother if we can borrow some equipment?
[Astronomical Club: 5]
TENGENJI: Hey, Hoshitani. You’re trying to look for a star so you can name it after yourself? AHAHAHAHAHAHA! You’ve got bad sense, huh. HOSHITANI: What will you name it then, Tengenji? TENGENJI: Let me see… I’ll call it “The Great Tengenji Kakeru Star”! HOSHITANI: Eh? TENGENJI: Or maybe the constellation of the Great Archangel Saint Tavian! HOSHITANI: …
 [Astronomical Club: 6]
KUGA: Hoshitani, have you found a star? HOSHITANI: No, not yet… KUGA: Well, you’ll find one soon enough, I’m sure. HOSHITANI: Yeah!! Oh, right, would you like to look for them with me, Kuga? A Kuga star! KUGA: A Kuga star sounds nice and all, but… I’m kinda hungry so an umeboshi rice ball will be better. HOSHITANI: Kuga… Did you start liking those because you started rooming with Tsukigami…?
[Astronomical Club: 7]
OTORI: Eh? He’s been looking for it all this time? NAYUKI: Yes, until late at night… TENGENJI: The bags under his eyes are getting dark, you know? I-it’s not like I’m worried about him, okay! KAITO: It’s because you told him he’d find some, isn’t it, Senpai? OTORI: Eh? I meant it in a way that he’d find it someday, but not necessarily today though… KUGA: That guy’ll believe anything you say, Otori-senpai. OTORI: Oh, my…
[Astronomical Club: 8]
HOSHITANI: Where are you, where are you~?
~ ☆ ~
HOSHITANI: Oh! A light I’ve never seen before…! Maybe it’s the Yuuta star!? Guys, guys, I found a new star~! NAYUKI: Really, Hoshitani-kun!? TENGENJI: So they really are out there, huh. KUGA: I’m happy for you. KAITO: … That’s right. team OTORI: Hooray! Hooray! HOSHITANI: Hm?
[Astronomical Club: 9]
HOSHITANI: Oh, wait… Isn’t that light sort of fluttering about? NAYUKI/KAITO/TENGENJI/KUGA: (gulp) OTORI: Ahaha, we got busted~ (bitter smile) HOSHITANI: Otori-senpai! OTORI: I heard that you were staying up late at night because of what I said, so I got a little worried. KAITO: That’s a UFO drone that Tatsumi from the Space and Aeronautics Engineering Club made. HOSHITANI: EH!?!? That’s amazing!!
[Astronomical Club: 10]
OTORI: I’m sorry, boy. I didn’t think that it would take so long for you to find one. HOSHITANI: Oh, no! I just really wanted to celebrate with everyone the joy of finding a new star! That was fun~! Team OTORI: Hoshitani (kun). HOSHITANI: But, someday for sure! I don’t know a way to give up on the stars, after all!!
 [The End]

[OMAKE]
TATSUMI: Fufufu. This UFO drone that was made with the efforts and wisdom of the Space and Aeronautics Engineering Club is our pride and joy. I’m glad that it made Hoshitani happy, but… I unconsciously made it to mimic a UFO’s movement. I guess this is just how a scientist works (laughs). I’ll take it back to the club now, Otori-senpai.

Um Hi this is my first time requesting but do you mind doing a B for Tsukigami Kaito. Thanks and take your time finishing this. (And take care of yourself too!)
゚ *☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚
Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
★ Tsukigami’s not one to care much about looks. What he really likes about you is your personality and how you care for things. Your dedication to the things you love really stick out to him the most. He also loves you for your ability to listen to him. As the younger brother of a star, he's used to being compared to him all the time. But with you, he doesn't have to worry about that.
★ He has a hard time expressing his emotions sometimes. He puts up an angry front at times, so he appreciates your patience with him. He loves that you are able to calm him down when he gets riled up.
★ He takes your hand and you squeeze it gently. No words are necessary for him to show how he appreciates you.

What I like about... (Starmyu edition)
(Has a huge urge to sing ‘What I Like About You’…)
This is a fun little ‘exercise’ that you can customise to your own theme if you like. I’ve done this for Starmyu, but feel free to change it up to your own tastes.
Basically, it’s a list of the characters from Starmyu and one thing I like about each.
If you do write one of your own, particularly if it’s another Starmyu one, let me know by sending me a link or just write your list in a message. :) I look forward to seeing your lists! Now, without further ado, here’s my list:
Hoshitani: His positive attitude. (Cliché maybe, but this is his most endearing quality to me.)
Nayuki: The way he cares for his team mates (and anyone else who comes across his path).
Tsukigami (Kaito): Teach-ability. (Kaito may not be the quickest learner; I’m specifically talking about when it comes to his ‘brother complex’. However, slowly, it seems like he’s learning that he doesn’t have to do everything as his brother did. I hope to see him learn to be happy with being himself.)
Tengenji: His honesty. (Even though he can come across as being a little ‘harsh’ sometimes, Tengenji is truly an honest man.)
Kuga: His willingness to work incredibly hard to achieve his goal. (He was working two jobs to pay for his tuition at Ayanagi Academy; ultimately to make his mom happy.)
Tatsumi: His way of stating the truth; even if it is a little ‘tactless’, but you can’t fault him for it!
Sawatari: How he puts Tatsumi’s needs ahead of his own. (I feel this is sometimes to his detriment, but it shows just how unselfish Eigo is.)
Inumine: His innocence. (Inumine is just Inumine. He’s not trying to be anything else.)
Toraishi: His potential. (When I look at Toraishi, I see such potential as an actor/dancer as well as an amazing husband for someone someday. If only he’d apply himself more in class and commit himself to one woman.)
Ugawa: The way he cares, but tries not to show it.
Hiragi: His gentleness. (My favourite scenes with him are when he’s taken Hoshitani aside in S02E07 to speak with him and then in S02E10 when he’s training with Hoshitani to get him ready for his role.)
Otori: His way of seeing potential in others.
Yuzuriha: His energy. (Yuzuriha, especially in ‘Finale to our chest’ – see OVA 1 – makes me smile with the sheer energy he has on and off stage.)
Sazanami: His calmness.
Akatsuki: The way he cares. (Because he cares about Hiragi, he works so hard to ‘protect’ him from Otori. Because he cares, he gets Otori to come back for Team Otori – at least that’s how I see it.)
Ageha: How he helps Hoshitani once they come friends.
Hachiya: His loyalty. (He sticks with Ageha no matter what and does his best to help Ageha achieve his dreams.)
Kitahara: How he, in his own way, encourages Hoshitani to pull through the pain and achieve his dream.
Nanjo: His fairness.
Haruto: His easy-going attitude. (He doesn’t let Uozumi’s responses unsettle him or make him angry.)
Uozumi: The way he works so hard on the struggling students. (He may be a scary guy, but… when this part of his heart comes through… he’s so sweet.)
Taiga: His ability to keep the peace amongst the Ancients (and everyone else for that instance).
Saotome: His professionalism in dealing with the students. (He’s a strict, but fair teacher.)
Yuki & Tsumugi: Their take-no-nonsense attitudes. (I do feel they’re a little hard on Tengenji sometimes, but… that original ‘telling off’… that was well done.)

Happy Birthday Tsukigami Haruto & Tsukigami Kaito!
These birthday cards on Starmyu’s Twitter are drawn by Aokita Ren, who explains them like this:
Although it’s the same Scorpio motif, the difference is that: For Haruto, it’s the image of the older brother who is full of confidence wearing the scorpion costume and showing off how awesome he is in it; and For Kaito, it’s the image of the younger brother who still seems a bit shy with “Is this… really okay?“

[STARMYU] Deceptive Cadence - 2,095
He looked up at the empty spot across from him. Hoshitani’s things were scattered across the table, discarded without a second thought. Nayuki hated that he sympathized with inanimate objects. || Takes place after season two. Nayuki has watched Hoshitani for so long, it's obvious he's hiding something. Does Nayuki want to face the truth of Hoshitani's feelings?
 Nayuki wasn’t blind.
At first he thought it was for the performance. Alexis, letting his hair down, gaining his life and his childhood friend back. And Lambert, so happy to receive any attention from Alexis, holding onto a precious gift. But that wasn’t the prop Alexis was supposed to give to Lambert--and that wasn’t Lambert catching up with his friend.
Nayuki had performed so much with Hoshitani he immediately knew the difference. Hoshitani always gave one-hundred percent to anything, but this was something Nayuki had never seen. Hoshitani wasn’t shining; he was a supernova. He wasn’t speaking as Lambert. He was trying to tell Otori something--and Otori was responding.
It wasn’t Lambert and Alexis on stage. It was certainly Hoshitani and Otori.
read and review on ao3
read and review on ffnet
Nayuki didn’t know what happened from the time they left the dressing room, but something had changed. Something Nayuki wasn’t sure he wanted to see.
When Hoshitani returned from the curtain call, flushed and beaming, Nayuki joined his teammates in offering congratulations. All in all, it was an amazing show. He was proud of his friends for bringing the production to life.
As Hoshitani gave out hugs, that’s when Nayuki noticed the ribbon around his wrist. The ribbon that was always in Otori’s hair.
He was reminded of an elementary school friend. She caught him outside the gates, the graduation ceremony finally over and everyone looking forward to middle school. She pulled a barrette from her hair, her face the color of fresh tomatoes.
“I know it’s bold, but please accept this gift,” she had shouted. “Please think of me while we’re apart. You’re very special to me!”
Nayuki had accepted the barrette because he didn’t know what else to do. He couldn’t recall where he put it, what her name was, or even the color of her hair. But he remembered the emotions behind it all.
Nayuki wasn’t blind. He just wished he didn’t have to see it.
Classes were back in session. Life resumed with singing and dancing, and endless nights of practice. As far as Nayuki could see, everything was back to normal. Even as the star team had wished their former leader luck in college, Hoshitani was still grinning from ear to ear. It was as if whatever happened during the play was only a dream. Nayuki thought he had imagined it, until he spotted the ribbon on Hoshitani’s desk.
And then the small smiles as he typed on his phone. The way he spaced out during classes. The way he hummed during lunch. Before long, the ribbon was back around his wrist. Not long after that, he started making excuses to go out at night, his phone clutched in his hand, already buzzing.
Nayuki wanted to ask his teammates if they noticed it, too. Tsukigami had made a passing comment about the ribbon during practice; no one else seemed to care. They probably assumed Hoshitani wore it for luck. It was his first starring role, after all.
Nayuki wished he would stop noticing. He wanted to ignore the light of Hoshitani’s phone in the middle of the night. He wanted to erase Hoshitani’s laughter as he excused himself from practice. Nayuki wanted to scream every time he left to make a secret call.
Why won’t you be honest, Hoshitani? Don’t spare my feelings! Please, just tell me.
But he couldn’t confront Hoshitani. Nayuki had his chance; he was rejected. So he could only smile for his friend, shake his head as if it didn’t matter, and swallow his emotions.
They were friends. That was all they would be. That had to be enough.
It was a Saturday afternoon. Nayuki and Hoshitani sat at the low table in their dorm finishing their homework when Hoshitani’s phone lit up.
Nayuki knew the smile was coming before it appeared. He had spent a month trying to ignore it.
Hoshitani suddenly stood and went to the door to slip on his shoes. “Sorry, Nayuki, I gotta take care of something.”
Nayuki didn’t turn around. He stared at his notebook and asked softly, “What about lunch?”
He barely heard Hoshitani call “Don’t wait up” as the door shut. Nayuki gripped his pencil, his chest suddenly tight. Why did he have to feel this way? What did he do to deserve it?
He looked up at the empty spot across from him. Hoshitani’s things were scattered across the table, discarded without a second thought. Nayuki hated that he sympathized with inanimate objects.
He closed his books and stacked them on the table. He didn’t dare touch Hoshitani’s. Instead, he stepped into his shoes and into the hallway.
He caught up as Hoshitani passed through the academy gates and Nayuki kept a careful distance as he ran into town. The three blocks felt like an eternity. Nayuki couldn’t take his eyes off his friend, wondering what he was hiding today--and yet somehow knowing and already hurting. It was only when Hoshitani stopped outside the coffee shop that Nayuki realized what he was doing.
What kind of person stalks their friend? I’m the absolute worst. If Hoshitani ever finds out, he’ll never speak to me again.
But something in Nayuki was curious. He had to know. He had to see for himself.
Hoshitani entered the coffee shop while Nayuki stood at the bookstore across the street. He picked up a random novel from the outside bins and watched the reflections in the glass, his shoulders hunched and head down.
When Hoshitani stepped back onto the street, he wasn’t alone. Otori, his hair down and one side pulled back with a feathered clip, was beside him. Nayuki’s heart gave a painful lurch at the smiles on their faces.
They started down the street, coffee cups in hand, talking animatedly. Their shoulders just barely brushed.
Anxiety swam into Nayuki’s stomach. He should go home, pretend nothing ever happened. He had homework to finish. And yet. . . .
And yet a small, sick part of him wanted to see this through. He had to know for sure. His heart needed to realize, to stop hoping, to stop wondering and wishing. If the only way to do that was to torture himself, to be the absolute worst and spy on something private, then he would do it.
He closed the novel, returned it to the bin, and followed after them.
It wasn’t hard to keep them in sight. Otori was tall; not just that, but he had an aura about him today. His face turned toward Hoshitani, an indulgent smile on his lips--it was an Otori that Nayuki had only seen that day on stage. Even then Nayuki felt they were in their own world.
Hoshitani’s laughter--just carrying above the crowded sidewalk--ate at Nayuki’s heart. He could pretend they were student and teacher catching up. He could almost imagine it. But as their hands brushed and Hoshitani’s ears turned red, Nayuki knew he couldn’t fool himself.
The first stop was an arcade. Nayuki couldn’t imagine either of them playing video games, but when he spotted them on the dance machine, the location made sense. It started as a competition between them, but as the rounds progressed and Hoshitani struggled on a difficult song, Otori laughed and joined Hoshitani’s dance pad. They each took a half, moving in perfect sync, their faces lighting with joy when they achieved a new high score.
Nayuki swallowed the lump in his throat.
Next was a manga shop. Nayuki had never seen Hoshitani pick up a manga, but he never knew he drank coffee, either. To Nayuki’s surprise, it was Otori who went down the aisles pointing out favorite series.
“My brother and I read this one when we were little,” Otori said in the hushed store. “It was a fun story about troublemaking ninjas. Each volume they made a problem worse, only to ultimately save the village by the end.”
Hiding an aisle away, Nayuki closed his eyes and leaned his forehead on a shelf as he listened to the whisper of flipping pages.
“I wonder if Tsubasa ever finished it.”
“You should send him some,” Hoshitani said. “I’m sure he would appreciate something from home.”
Otori chuckled. “It would definitely surprise him.”
“You said you talked yesterday, right? How is Hiragi?”
“Over his head in a new production. He’s finding it difficult to keep up with his classes and practice, but Tsukigami is coaching him, so he’s surviving.”
“Wow. I never thought Hiragi would ever be out of his depth.”
“He’s only human, Yuta,” Otori said with a laugh.
Nayuki realized their voices were moving and he hurried to stay out of sight. His face felt hot, his stomach somersaulting.
It’s only his name. But coming from Otori it sounds so . . . personal.
Nayuki needed to go home. Of course, he said that earlier and still followed after them. He knew the truth; he knew everything he needed to know. A part of him was excited for Hoshitani. They were friends, after all, and Nayuki would always support his friends.
But a different part--a part Nayuki would never admit to--was angry, burning with jealousy. He wanted to ask Hoshitani what he did wrong. What did he have to do for Hoshitani to look at him the way he looked at Otori?
“Hey Ot--Itsuki? Can I ask you something?” Hoshitani’s voice was soft and quiet. Otori must have nodded and he continued. “Um, would it be alright--I mean if you want--uh, is it, well--”
Otori laughed. “Spit it out, Yuta.”
“Is . . . is it okay if we held hands?”
Nayuki held his breath. This was it--this was what he wanted, wasn’t it? He already knew the truth but here was the evidence that would make his heart stop wishing. The proof that would help him move forward.
“I thought you might ask earlier,” Otori said, his tone matching the softness in Hoshitani’s. There was a moment of silence--Nayuki could imagine their hands coming together, fingers entwining, that small smile on Hoshitani’s face--and then Otori said, “Are you nervous? Your hand is shaking. We can stop if--”
“No, no, it’s not--!” Nayuki flinched at the harsh yell. Hoshitani realized he was being loud and dropped his voice. “I’m just so happy. I’m glad you could visit.”
“Me, too. My schedule should be opening enough soon that I can visit every other weekend.”
   “That’s great!”
“Depending on your grades, of course,” Otori chided.
“Using your visits as a reward is mean, you know,” Hoshitani pouted. “I thought my gift would convince you to visit sooner.”
“You know I wear it every day, but I’ve told you before. Bribes won’t work on me. This way you stay motivated, right? Don’t think you can slack off just because you performed with me. You still have other dreams to work towards.”
“I’m giving it my all. No matter what happens next, I’ll keep working hard until I can move an audience all on my own.”
“I won’t be satisfied until you do,” Otori said.
They shared a soft, secretive laugh. Nayuki smiled sadly. They seemed happy, and wasn’t that enough for him? Hoshitani was happy. He hadn’t given up on his dreams, and now Otori was beside him. He was stronger than Nayuki; he was better suited to help Hoshitani. Nayuki couldn’t compete with Otori.
Hoshitani and Otori passed by the aisle where Nayuki hid. Nayuki nearly squeaked with surprise, afraid he would be found out, but neither of them noticed him. Their eyes were for each other only. Their hands were clasped between them. Nayuki had noticed it throughout the day, but seeing them openly hold hands, he knew for certain they were in their own world. They were the only person to exist for the other.
Nayuki couldn’t compete with Otori--and he didn’t want to. He would support Hoshitani. He would continue to find ways to help Hoshitani achieve his dreams. Whatever he needed, Nayuki would be there as a friend. The secret ambition that Hoshitani might see him as long as he stayed close was gone.
Nayuki waited as Hoshitani and Otori paid for their things and then, as they went to get lunch, Nayuki turned the opposite way and headed for home.
His body felt light, like maybe he could dance in the air. A weight he didn't know he had was gone. There was nothing holding him down. He breathed deeply. Everything was okay--he was okay.
Nayuki wasn’t blind. In fact, he was starting to see a brand new path before him.

Starmyu Sibling Headcanons
(just the second years. feel free to comment/add!)
Hoshitani - An only child, but has a bunch of little cousins who absolutely adore him.
Nayuki - Two younger sisters (as we know). Also has a baby sister causing havoc in the Nayuki household. This boy never gets a break (but he loves it).
Tsukigami - An older brother (again, as we know). Like Hoshitani, has a bunch of little cousin who adore him. Haruto never became as close to them since he’s often working abroad.
Tengenji - Also an only child. Has incidentally adopted all the younger kids at his theatre as his own.
Kuga - Only child. Often helped take care of Toraishi’s younger sister.
Tatsumi - (Another) only child. Not much extended family, either, so Eigo was the closest person he had to a sibling.
Eigo - Two brothers, one older and one younger. Closer to his younger brother. All three pretty much do their own thing when they’re at home together.
Toraishi - Has two sisters, one older and one younger. They’re all very close; he thinks his older sister is the coolest person in the world, and he positively adores his younger sister. He tries to protect her from “guys like him,” but as both of his sisters have pointed out, he’s not the type of guy they need protection from.
Inumine - Younger siblings just. Everywhere. There’s three of them running around, plus one that can’t run yet, plus a dog, plus Inumine himself. The Inumine household is hectic, to say in the least.
Ugawa - Youngest of four. Two brothers, one sister. He looks up to them a lot, though he would never admit it.
Ageha - Seems like the bratty only child or youngest sibling type, but actually has a baby brother who he adores. They watch musicals together.
Hachiya - Has twin younger siblings, one boy and one girl, who admire Hachiya to the moon and back. He’s just glad they’re not as clumsy as he is.
Kitahara - We know from the character interviews that he has two sisters. Like Toraishi, has one older sister and one younger, though unlike Toraishi, they are all very close in age. Also has a brother who’s older than all three of them. He’s closest to his older sister.
Nanjo - Has an older brother, though they aren’t close. His parents often put his brother on a pedestal, but unlike, say, Haruto, Nanjo’s brother never offered him much encouragement, which is part of the reason for Nanjo’s “likes himself as he is, doesn’t matter too much” attitude.

Door to a Hunting Life
"...Can't be that hard can it?"
The petite hands of Usagi Tsukigami wrapped around the hilt of the hammer. Red eyes examined the mechanical-...
Damn, what'd they all call it again? Tetrisdom? Toadysary?
Didn't matter- it was going to be called ‘busted’ after today.
She struggled to lift the mallet to her chest, let alone over her head. She grumbled. She'd pick another weapon if that wasn't the only one she could find next to the groundskeeping felyne.
She glanced behind her, a nagging feeling in her brain told her she was being watched, but no matter where her eyes darted, she was the only human in the area…
She sighed. Had to be the cat or maybe some other critter, or something.
She strained herself as she successfully got the hammer over her head, not hearing the faint "Hey!" over her struggling breathing.  It was when she slammed the hammer down on the robo-kapa's leg that she heard it:
"YO! HOLD UP-- DON'T HOLD IT LIKE THAT!"
"Huh?" Was all that came out of her mouth before the hammer bounced back off the machine's knee and launched itself back into her face with a crunch.
She immediately dropped to the ground, gasping, face scrunched up in a feeble attempt to alleviate the pain from her nose and mouth. She felt a leathery hand pat her shoulder. "Hey! You alright?! Ya look like ya took a pretty gnarly hit there…"
"Augh, fug!" Usagi swore indignantly, flinching as calloused fingers cupped her chin upwards to see the damage.
"Geez, that’s lookin’… Aw shurikens, that's a lotta blood– Yo, Flash! Grab some wraps from my pack, will ya?!"
"Muddafugga god me righ' in tha kisser!" She hissed, sniffling before she could taste blood in the back of her throat. "Fug– Gawwwd, muh nose…"
She could hear the faint pitter-patter of small felyne feet, followed by a quick, "Thanks, buddy." She felt a cold cloth pressed firmly up against her nostrils.
"Here, hold that up there– Cool, cool. Can ya sit up against the toadversary so I can get a better look?
She finally cracked her eyes open to find out exactly who was helping her.
She’d seen him before. Some ninja guy she'd spot once in a blue moon, usually perched up on one of the many roofs of Kamura. She could’ve sworn he looked a lot scrawnier though- guy was built like a brick shithouse up close.
It was the messy dark hair and his grey and white scarf in particular that really made her squint. She'd recognized them from somewhere. The man's gold eyes squinted back, hand wrapped around where his mouth should've been, but in its place, a chain cowl wrapped around his lower visage.
"Hey, you're one of Ritsuko's kids, ain't ya? Uhhh... Shurikens, it's on the tip of my tongue." His other hand snapped his fingers as he tried recollecting.
Wait.
That was the one guy that hung out with Ugetsu back when they went hunting with her dad. The two were glued to the hip before her brother ran off to, well-... whatever it is he's doing these days.
"Um…Id's Usagi." She snuffled, pulling the cloth from her face before gawking at the bloody mess.
A final snap of the finger, pointing at her. "Usagi! That's it, yeah! Look, I dunno if ya remember me at all but–"
"Your tha- weirdo tha’ hung ou' wid muh brudder aren'chu?"
"I uhhhh…” The ninja cleared his throat awkwardly, voice gradually dying out to a small grumble, “I guess that’s one way to put it, sheesh…– Here prop ya mouth open real quick–" He hummed, analyzing the damage, "… You’re lucky ya didn't knock any teeth out. Or worse, punch ‘em inward. Seen some hunters do that before, pretty gnarly stuff. Heck, one time I saw this one dude–" He paused, shifting his eyes before clearing his throat again. "Point is, ya can't just go swingin' a hammer up like that, ya always keep it over the shoulder, never directly across your face like that. Otherwise ya get, well–"
"Yeah, yeah, I geddit." The teen grumbled, snorting before spitting up blood. His eyes shifted at the stray weapon before glancing back to her, “Also, there a reason ya using a palico hammer?” Usagi pursed her lips, confused, “A wha-...?” There was an awkward silence, The hunters shoulders began to stifle. The man appeared to at least try, but failed to hold back laughter as his flaxen felyne reclaimed its weapon, “That hammer is for a felyne, not humans, ya doofus!” “Y-yeah, well uh…” Usagi stammered, face turning about a red as a Rathalos. “I- I knew tha’! I just-... I  just uh–” She slumped against the toadversary, lips pursed into a pout.
“Sorry, sorry, shouldn’t be laughin’ like that!” The ninja cleared his throat again, “That's just a first for me.” He cocked his head, "This your first time out here? Don't think I've seen ya around these parts before." Usagi curled her lips inward, shifting her eyes to the ground before nodding ever so slightly.
"Tell ya what–" The man clasped his hands together,  "Go back to the village and have Zenchi check ya out. If ya feel better tomorrow, come back and I'll give ya some pointers, cool?" He offered his fist. “An’ don’t worry. I’ll make sure to have a proper weapon for ya!”
Usagi blinked. Was this guy just up and offering lessons? Despite her face being properly messed up, behind the bloodied wraps a small smile curled on her lips. She offered her fist in return, baffled by the size difference as knuckles bumped eachother.
"Thang you, uh…” Usagi hummed, “Shid, uh, I don' thing I remember your name…"
Even with a cowl, nothing could hide the smile underneath as the man's eyes practically lit up.
"Just call me Utsushi!"

[Translation] StarMyu - THIRD STAGE Drama CD - Track 1
Tumblr media
Did I say more StarMyu??? Welp, either way, here’s more StarMyu!!  Third Stage is such a fun drama CD (not just because Ren and Nanjo are there sshhh) but because a lot of the scenes would feel nostalgic specially if you remember what they talk about as you listen~
※ Please don’t re-post the English translations without permission. Please just like/reblog them instead ^^
Under the cut, enjoy~!
Track 01: [スタミュ in 座談会!! その2] “StarMyu in Round Table Discussion!! Chapter 2”
[0:00]
HOSHITANI: Our time as first years in Ayanagi Academy is about to end and next year, we’ll be entering our second year of school!
HOSHITANI: That means that we started doing our reflection—Ah, no, our round-table discussion about our first year but…
HOSHITANI: There were so many things we wanted to talk about that the conversation wouldn’t move forward at all.
HOSHITANI: That’s why, today will be the second time we try!
HOSHITANI: Come what may and all but, this is a story about that certain day~
  HOSHITANI: Third Drama CD—
ALL:  StarMyu in Round-Table Discussion – Part 2!
HOSHITANI: Alright, guys! We’ll be doing a round-table discussion~!
NAYUKI: A-ah… Hoshitani-kun. Kuga-kun left for his part-time job already…
HOSHITANI: Eh?!
TENGENJI: Tsukigami went off on his own somewhere, too.
HOSHITANI: What?!
NAYUKI: It seems like he got a call from his mom.
NAYUKI: The friend she was supposed to go see a play with suddenly cancelled so she asked Tsukigami-kun to come with her.
NAYUKI: It’s a musical that his father directed so, she begged him to because she didn’t want to see any empty seats there, it seems.
HOSHITANI: Is that so…? From five to three people, huh…
HOSHITANI: That sounds a bit sad…
TATSUMI: If you’d like, would it be alright for me to join you?
HOSHITANI: Eh?
TATSUMI: Hello.
TEAM OTORI: Tatsumi!?
TORAISHI: Yo, Team Otori~
HOSHITANI: Toraishi, too!
NAYUKI: What’s up, both of you?
TATSUMI: Tsukigami contacted me. He said that he felt bad for not being able to attend the round-table discussion and asked if I could go fill in his place if I’m free.
TORAISHI: Same here. And since the date I was supposed to go to got cancelled, I’m here~
TORAISHI: I asked Inumine and Ugawa if they wanted to join but…
TORAISHI: I can’t catch Inumine and Ugawa said it’s troublesome so he didn’t come.
TORAISHI: What happened to Sawatari?
TATSUMI: Ah, Eigo’s been out since this morning.
TATSUMI: He left a letter with big words on it so I’m pretty sure that he went somewhere to “add to his experiences”~
TENGENJI: We complained and now we’ve got five again.
HOSHITANI: As expected from Tsukigami! He’s so prepared~
NAYUKI: (chuckles) That’s nice, isn’t it, Hoshitani-kun?
TATSUMI: But is it really, okay? We’re not Team Otori members so…
TORAISHI: Isn’t it fine? Team Hiragi and Team Otori are pretty close, right?
HOSHITANI: Totally~! Toraishi and Tengenji get along well, too~
TENGENJI: It’s not like we’re friends though.
TORAISHI: What’re you saying, Tengenji? You’re Shu’s friend. And Shu’s friends are my friends so that means, you’re my friend, too.
TORAISHI: Can’t you just admit that~? You’re so troublesome, geez.
TENGENJI: I… (softly) Friend…
TORAISHI: Well, I’m the hotter one though.
TENGENJI: No, it’s me!
NAYUKI: A-ah… Please don’t fight, you two.
HOSHITANI: It’s true. They’re true rivals…
HOSHITANI: Geez, you’re both good looking so isn’t that good enough?
TATSUMI: So, how far have you gotten into the round-table discussion, Hoshitani?
TORAISHI: This guy’s completely got no interest in our faces!
TENGENJI: Well, of course. I mean, I’m not interested in any face aside from mine either.
TORAISHI: You--! For real… Your personality’s real amazing, huh.
NAYUKI: (slightly panicking) Ho-Hoshitani-kun…
HOSHITANI: (nervous chuckle) U-um… Then, should we start the round-table discussion?
ALL: Yeah.
[03:18]
HOSHITANI: Last time, we managed to talk about… Well, until the outdoor performance, right?
NAYUKI: That’s right. Then, continuing that would be… Summer vacation?
HOSHITANI: Oh! Then, I have the perfect thing.
HOSHITANI: Speaking of summer vacation, it’s definitely~!
TATSUMI: The joint training camp we did at Hiragi-senpai’s villa, right?
HOSHITANI: Exactly!
TENGENJI: It was totally unplanned though.
NAYUKI: No one expected that we’d all meet in the villa… I was so surprised when I saw Inumine-kun in the food storage shed.
NAYUKI: I mistook him for a bear and accidentally hit him…
TATSUMI: You hit him?
TORAISHI: For real?! Good going, Nayuki-chan…
TORAISHI: But, won’t it be dangerous if you actually hit a bear?
NAYUKI: Eh? Ah… That’s right… I did it unconsciously so I—
TORAISHI: Well, it’s good that it was a dog, huh? Ah, I guess it’s not really either.
NAYUKI: I’m sorry…
TATSUMI: (chuckles) It’s okay. Inumine’s pretty tough after all.
TORAISHI: We went back home after about a week of training camp but… Team Otori stayed for most of summer vacation, right?
TORAISHI: I’m surprised you didn’t get so bored when you weren’t practicing. Specially deep in the mountains like that.
HOSHITANI: It got a bit lonely when Team Hiragi left though.
NAYUKI: True. Sometimes I even ended up making too much food. Though, it’s good that Kuga-kun ate a lot.
TATSUMI: Did you not go home at all for summer vacation?
HOSHITANI: I couldn’t. Nayuki too, right?
NAYUKI: Yup. Remember? I took a look at Hoshitani-kun’s summer homework during the opening ceremony.
HOSHITANI: That’s right… I’m sorry.
NAYUKI: No, it’s okay. I can always go home any time after all. Tengenji-kun didn’t go home too, right?
TENGENJI: Well, yeah. If I came home only for a few days, I’d only end up not doing anything.
TENGENJI: I’d feel bad for Tavian if I just went and then came back again soon.
TORAISHI: Ta-vi-an? What’s that?
TENGENJI: …! N-n-nothing, it’s nothing!
TORAISHI/TATSUMI: ?
TORAISHI: Ah~ I know, I know.
TORAISHI: It’s a girlfriend or something you got at home, isn’t it?
TORAISHI: What’s this~? You goin’ out with a foreigner or something?
TORAISHI: That’s funny coming from the “Heir of the Kabuki World”~
TENGENJI: Tavian’s my angel and not a foreigner.
HOSHITANI: Tatsumi, what about you guys? Did you go back home for summer vacation?
TATSUMI: Yup, we all did~
NAYUKI: Oh yeah. Ugawa-kun did bring back a lot of souvenirs from Kyoto.
HOSHITANI: Ah! Like that triangle-shaped mochi? That was so delicious~!
TORAISHI: Shu went back home for the last day of vacation though. He didn’t even contact me or anything.
TORAISHI: I was just walking around the neighbourhood, saw him, and just shouted “Wait, you’re back!?”
ALL: (laughs)
TENGENJI: What an unsociable guy, huh.
TATSUMI: (chuckles) Oh, that’s right. Toraishi and Kuga are neighbors, huh.
KUGA: Yeah. Not as close as you and Sawatari though.
KUGA: Your houses are right next to each other, right? I heard from Ugawa.
HOSHITANI: Eh, is that true?
TENGENJI: I did think that you two were always together a lot but…
TENGENJI: Don’t tell me… It’s that kind where you’ve known each other ever since you were born?
TATSUMI: That’s right. We were together for kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and now in high school, too.
NAYUKI: And you share the same dorm room, are in the same class and team, too?
HOSHITANI: Is that kind of thing okay to happen?
TORAISHI: It’s surprising, right? They’re more like brothers rather than childhood friends, huh?
NAYUKI: They might have been together longer than I have been with my own sisters…
TATSUMI: (laughs)
HOSHITANI: But, I kinda want a brother like Sawatari. I want him to share some of that smartness with me.
TENGENJI: Share his smartness with you…?
TORAISHI: Your way of thinking is so unique, huh, Hoshitani…
TORAISHI: Well, Sawatari’s sort of our person-in-charge guy. He’s really smart.
HOSHITANI: Right~? Even during that time when Team Otori and Team Hiragi did the rock-paper-scissors competition.
TENGENJI: The one where we competed for Ayanagi Academy’s theatre?
NAYUKI: We both hoped to use the theatre for the afternoon schedule, right?
NAYUKI: And then, Inumine-kun and Hoshitani-kun had to do rock-paper-scissors.
HOSHITANI: I got fooled by Team Hiragi’s plan…
NAYUKI: All that “French rules” and stuff back then, were they really only a plan to confuse us?
TORAISHI: I actually… didn’t know anything about that either.
TORAISHI: It was your and Sawatari’s plan wasn’t it, Tatsumi?
TATSUMI: Nope. It wasn’t planned at all.
TATSUMI: You know? I watched a rock-paper-scissors competition in a French show on TV before and since Yuzuriha-senpai was there, I only decided to ask him about it.
TATSUMI: And then Eigo came up with it on the spot.
TORAISHI: Really?! You didn’t plan it at all!?
TATSUMI: We didn’t. That was actually the first time I’ve heard about it as well.
TATSUMI: It really helped that Eigo was so knowledgeable, huh~
NAYUKI: Heh…
HOSHITANI: Sawatari’s too amazing! He’s so omnipotent!
TENGENJI: Speaking of, there was a time when we had to perform in Inumine’s family’s restaurant but… Was that also Sawatari’s plan?
TATSUMI: Eh?
TENGENJI: Did he hide Hoshitani’s wallet somewhere or something?
NAYUKI: Eh?
HOSHITANI: Ah, no, no, it’s not. It got returned to me safely by mail afterwards.
TORAISHI: Ah, by that performance, you mean, when you wore that lame costume?
TATSUMI: (with a slightly menacing tone) Yes. It was from when you and Ugawa were trying to escape with all you’ve got.
TORAISHI: A-ah… I-I’m so sorry about that.
[08:34]
HOSHITANI: But, you know what? Even during that time and even during the Ayanagi Festival…
HOSHITANI: And even when we were troubled after being removed as a Star Team, Team Hiragi helped us out a lot, huh.
HOSHITANI: I’m really grateful!
TORAISHI: Hoshitani…
TATSUMI: We didn’t help you out because we thought you needed it, you know?
TATSUMI: We wanted Team Otori and the other teams as well to be able to be our rivals fairly and work under the same circumstances that we were in.
TATSUMI: If we’re going to be competing then, I wanted you to be able to do it at full power.
TATSUMI: That’s what I thought.
HOSHITANI: Tatsumi…
TORAISHI: Tatsumi really loves Team Otori, huh~
TATSUMI: Eh?
HOSHITANI: Is that so?
TATSUMI: (chuckles) I wonder now…
TATSUMI: I think of all the teams as our rivals, too, but… Ah… I see.
TATSUMI: I think that maybe as friends, you had something more special.
TATSUMI: Tsukigami and Nayuki are here. And Toraishi’s childhood friend, too.
TATSUMI: And even the Heir of the Kabuki World that was the talk of the town even before being admitted.
TATSUMI: And Hoshitani’s here, too.
TATSUMI: I got curious about you. I wanted to see a performance you’d make and then I thought that you all had a lot of potential.
TATSUMI: (chuckles) I guess it’s true that I love Team Otori, huh~
TORAISHI: Ah… I don’t mean to sound like a downer but… I don’t think I can ever say something as meaningful like that to a guy…
NAYUKI: Tatsumi-kun…!
TENGENJI: Th-that’s kinda hard to follow up.
HOSHITANI: But, it makes me happy~! Thank you, Tatsumi!
TORAISHI: W-well, I don’t mind if everyone’s happy.
TATSUMI: In any case, to me, being able to perform with all of you for the Ayanagi Festival was a wonderful thing.
HOSHITANI: Me, too! Though, it was a close call in a lot of ways.
TORAISHI: To think that you’d do a sudden performance in the storm and defy the Kao Council’s orders…
TORAISHI: Now that I think hard about it, it wouldn’t have been absurd if you guys failed the test stage.
TORAISHI: I heard you all went to apologize to Akatsuki-senpai after that. I heard about it from Shu.
HOSHITANI: Yeah. We apologized to Hiragi-senpai, Yuzuriha-senpai, and Sazanami-senpai, too.
HOSHITANI: Though, Sazanami-senpai lectured us a lot…
NAYUKI: He was so scary, wasn’t he?
TENGENJI: I was prepared for a lecture and all but… That went beyond imagination, huh…
TATSUMI: That much?
TORAISHI: It seems dangerous making Sazanami-senpai mad.
TORAISHI: From what I heard from my friends in Team Sazanami…
TORAISHI: It seems like they were made to sit in seiza fashion for almost three hours and when they complain that their “feet are so numb,” they were made to fall over. (1)
HOSHITANI: Made to fall over…?
NAYUKI: Sazanami-senpai’s the son of an aikido dojo owner.
TENGENJI: Oh yeah. I remember Otori-senpai saying that Sazanami-senpai’s the strongest person he knows.
TENGENJI: I heard only about half of it but…
HOSHITANI: It might be true, huh…
TORAISHI: The only guy in the world who’s made Sazanami-senpai faint is in this room though.
TATSUMI: What? Who are you talking about?
TORAISHI: It’s you!
NAYUKI: Well, it’s more of…
TENGENJI: The curry that Tatsumi made.
TATSUMI: (chuckles)
HOSHITANI: Oh, like the time Tatsumi caused all those casualties during the sports event?
HOSHITANI: When Tatsumi’s curry was brought out for the obstacle race, almost everyone retired, right?
HOSHITANI: I didn’t participate so I wasn’t able to taste them at all but, was it that amazing…?
TATSUMI: I made it under Nayuki’s instructions though~
NAYUKI: M-maybe my way of teaching was bad…
TATSUMI: You don’t have to worry about it. Apparently, anything I make ends up tasting that way.
TENGENJI: Why are you like this?
TORAISHI: Ah! If it’s the sports event then I have something I really wanna say!
TORAISHI: Tengenji, Nayuki! You aimed for us specifically during your cavalry battle with Class C, didn’t you!? (2)
NAYUKI: A-a-ah… That was—
TENGENJI: (scoffs) The shrimpy was your rider so I told Nayuki to crush him.
TORAISHI: I knew it was your plan! Don’t just move ‘cause you like being a horse.
TORAISHI: Listen to Nayuki-chan’s orders!
TENGENJI: Call me a horse or whatever but I’m a great horse. I’m better than a knight.
TORAISHI: What the—You follow your own rules too much, damn it!
TATSUMI: Toraishi was a wild horse who didn’t listen to Ugawa’s orders, too, though~
TORAISHI: Th-that was--! I was just getting them back for picking a fight with us!
HOSHITANI: A cavalry battle is not a fight…
NAYUKI: Ah… If I did my job as the “knight” properly then, that battle royale wouldn’t have happened…
TATSUMI: Why did you decide to participate in the cavalry battle, Nayuki?
TATSUMI: I didn’t think that you’d be up for those kinds of competitions…
NAYUKI: Class A only chose someone who was short enough to do it.
HOSHITANI: Though, that plan failed completely, didn’t it~?
NAYUKI: Our class was totally annihilated after all…
HOSHITANI: Even though Tengenji was good, he only kept chasing after Toraishi and Ugawa.
TENGENJI: I follow my own path!
ALL: …
TATSUMI: If I remember correctly, Hoshitani didn’t participate in the cavalry battle, right?
HOSHITANI: Yup! I did the pole toppling match and the 400-meter relay~
TORAISHI: Oh~ You did all the good stuff, huh.
NAYUKI: Hoshitani-kun’s athletic sense is pretty amazing, you know? He might be the best in Class A.
TATSUMI: I was in the 400-meter relay, too.
HOSHITANI: Really?! I didn’t notice you.
NAYUKI: Tatsumi-kun was the first runner after all. Maybe you just missed him because you were the anchor, Hoshitani-kun?
TORAISHI: Shu was Class B’s anchor, too, right?
HOSHITANI: Yup! Kuga was super fast~
HOSHITANI: The lengths of our legs are so different that he passed me so quickly!
NAYUKI: Class C’s anchor was Inumine-kun, huh~?
HOSHITANI: Yeah! Inumine passed us at the last second so Kuga and I both lost…
HOSHITANI: Class C won in the end.
NAYUKI: Inumine-kun was the MVP, wasn’t he~?
TENGENJI: That guy appeared in all the matches he could appear in, right?
HOSHITANI: Now that you mention it… He was in the pole toppling game, too!
NAYUKI: He was in the bread-eating race, too.
TENGENJI: In the ball-toss game, too.
TATSUMI: He might be clumsy but his physical abilities are very strong.
TATSUMI: Eigo told him to enter anything as long as he understood the rules easily.
TENGENJI: Sawatari again, huh.
HOSHITANI: He’s Class C’s planner after all~
TORAISHI: Oh yeah, what events did the thoroughbred join? I don’t remember seeing him much there…
TATSUMI: Tsukigami was in the obstacle race, remember?
ALL: Ah…
TENGENJI: Th-that’s right…
NAYUKI: Tsukigami-kun ate Tatsumi-kun’s curry and then…
HOSHITANI: He was carried off to the infirmary…
TORAISHI: Tatsumi… Cooking really is the only destructive thing that you do…
TATSUMI: Unfortunately so~
[15:07]
HOSHITANI: But, you know? Ayanagi Academy has a lot of strange sports for a sports festival, right?
HOSHITANI: It was so fun~
TATSUMI: True. For a school that focuses on music, it sure has a lot of rigorous cultural events, huh?
TATSUMI: It’s mysterious hearing that it’s from Ayanagi, too.
NAYUKI: Like the graduation ceremony, you mean?
TORAISHI: Oh yeah. Other schools have graduation but not a graduation ceremony.
TATSUMI: It seems that it originated only for Star Teams to be able to do a performance for sending off the mentors that trained them.
TATSUMI: It means it’s an event exclusive to the Musical Department.
TENGENJI: Heh~ And so it’s become a tradition for the school now.
NAYUKI: You can totally feel the history in it.
HOSHITANI: We managed to participate in that legendary event as performers, huh.
HOSHITANI: I managed to say my thanks properly to Otori-senpai who chose me as his student.
NAYUKI: Hoshitani-kun?
TENGENJI: What’s with you all of a sudden?
HOSHITANI: You know, um… A lot happened this past year but, I’m really glad to have been a part of Team Otori!
HOSHITANI: Right, Nayuki, Tengenji?
HOSHITANI: Tatsumi and Toraishi, too! Let’s do our best in the Musical Department!
NAYUKI: Yeah!
TENGENJI: I don’t want you telling me that though. You amateur.
ALL: (laughs)
TATSUMI: Looks like this will be fun, huh, Toraishi~?
TORAISHI: Totally.

Calling it now. It will be Hoshitani who will play Lambert because Hiragi is unable to attend the play. Ageha will be Alexis’s shaddow and Tsukigami is the subject in his brother’s e-mail about the audition.
Kao Council’s special mission might be grooming Hoshitani to be Hiragi’s replacement (as seen in episode 7 Haruto asking Hoshitani to observe Hiragi) and Haruto’s special mission is for then to train Kaito.
I hope it is because that will really make Hoshitani’s dream come true and everybody will be happy.
Side note: I still want Tatsumi, Eigo and the rest of Team Ootori to have a role though.

Starmyu S2 Ep 5 highlights
Just finished watching starmyu ep 5. And I am in love with the episode, much more than the previous one. So, here are the highlights of the episode in my opinion. If you want to read me rambling my love for this show, then “Keep Reading” <<< see what I did there. Okay, I’ll stop lol
1. Uozumi-senpai
Okay this person is freaking annoying, at first. But I like him A LOT now, especially in this episode. He is so sweet! Though that sudden decison was a bit of a shock but it was definitely a great decision. Tsukigami was beating himself up too much.
But anyway, back to Uozumi. He has a tough personality but inside he is as soft as marshmallow. I particularly love how he cares for team ootori specifically Hoshitani & Tsukigami. (But he needs to quit being stalker-ish though lol) It’s so genuine. He cares for Hoshitani because he see the potential (That Hoshitani himself still can’t see). And for Tsukigami, Uozumi cares for him because he can relate to what he feels. (watch the episode to know why). And this line made me smile so hard. Am I the only one????

2. THE CHANGED KUGA GIVING REN A VERBAL BUTT-KICKING
As we all know, Kuga is a silent and sometimes seem uninterested in stuff. But in the previous episode, he realized that he needs to get serious. And oh he freaking did. This new Kuga is amazing! Ren was being an asshole and kept talking bad about Tsukigami. Tengeji, despite being a Tsundere that acts like he doesn’t care much about his teammates, defended Tsukigami and almost fought with that idiot Ren. But Kuga stopped him and when Ren still can’t stop being an ass, Kuga took matters in his own hands and gave Ren a reality check. (THAT BADASS SLIGHT PUSH THOUGH) The after though, I’m still laughing at what Ren said after that. This anime is just......

3. The song by Hoshitani, Tsukigami & Uozumi
Okay. I gotta say that the sudden song appearance still crack me up, but this one, in my opinion is just the right timing. Though the sudden appearance of Uozumi was hilarious! Other than that, this song appeared at the right moment. And the song is really good! I just love Tsukigami’s voice so much.

4. The bond in Team Ootori (And with Team Hiragi)
One of the reasons I love this anime is the bond that you can see between the characters. (I am a sucker for friendship or teammates bonding in anime) And Team Ootori has that bond. Despite their rocky start, they are now very close to each other. In this episode, you can clearly see the bond between them. Hoshitani is like the glue that keeps them together, Nayuki is The Mom Friend (the scene he gave Hoshitani tea makes him looked like a wife lol), Tsukigami is the over-achiever in the group, Tengenji is the problematic one but he protects the group (That Tsundere personality of him though lol) and Kuga is the silent friend that is observant and gives you great advice when you need them. I love them. And this episode highlighted their close friendship.
Another thing I love is their bond with Team Hiragi. When there were fights, Team Hiragi (except Inumine. This dude....) was very concerned with Team Ootori. So sweet!

The lunch scene was hilarious though. Because they are always with each other, so when they don’t talk, people find it odd lol (and they are sitting in a line!)

5. The ending credits.
Have you guys seen it? The ending credits changed in this episode! *spoiler* After Tsukigami agreed to change roles with Hoshitani, they even changed the photos in the ending credits! I appreciate these tiny details so much. Great job to the staff!

6. Tsukigami giving the ticket
If you have watched the previous episode, there was a scene where Tengenji gave the handkerchief? to Hoshitani. It was a meaningful gesture because Tengenji had that item since he was a child, the times when he was pushed so hard by his father to be what he is now. And when he gave it to Hoshitani, it’s like a good luck charm from him that Hoshitani treasures very much. Because it’s a sign that Tengenji (who is self-centered and thinks he is the best and despised Hoshitani in the past) believed in him.

And then, Tsukigami also gave an important item to Hoshitani. The ticket to the play that had haunted him until now. The play that made Tsukigami desperate to show that even he can be as great as his super-talented brother. So when he gave the ticket, it meant that he was letting go of his obsession to be like his brother and instead trying to achieve success in his own way and with his own talent.

And that is all from me. Apparently I rambled on too much lol. But I just need to let it out. If by any chance, anyone who’s also a fan of this anime, read this until the end, YOU’RE THE BEST. Thanks for reading my excessive fangirling lol
