a/n: I wrote this for myself because it’s my birthday LOL It’s pretty bad (not proof-read) and not as long as I hoped it would be, but I just wanted to enjoy some Jisung cuddles~ Also, I listened to Tsukiakari Illuminate by MEZZO” while writing this! ~Ness

“Mm...”

Jisung stirs, turning away from you and inching closer to the edge of the bed. Nothing sounds other than the rustle of the covers and soft breathing beside him. The moonlight peeking through the window reflects the small drops of sweat on his forehead.

“Y/N...”

The boy feels your grasp around his waist tighten. When you nuzzle further into his back, he pouts and tries to shake you off.

“I know you’re awake, Y/N..”

“Stop moving,” you grumble in your half-asleep state.

“It’s too hot... I keep waking up because you’re glued to my back,” Jisung complains, still struggling in your grasp.

“But I can’t sleep if I’m not holding something..”

Your boyfriend pulls out the pillow from under your head. “Use this, then. I wanna get some rest.” He earns a muffled yelp as he shoves it in your face.

“Noooo~ You’re warm..” You stick the fluffy cushion back under your head, releasing Jisung briefly before capturing him back into your arms. “Just lemme cuddle you for a little. You can push me off after I fall asleep again.”

“...Fine, but only a bit.”

“Hooray!” You smile as you feel the boy turn to face you, pulling you closer to him.

Silence falls on the room while the two of you enjoy each other’s company. The brightness of the moon glares in your eyes, and you proceed to hide your face in Jisung’s chest to protect your vision. You can sense your boyfriend move his hand into your hair, running his fingers through the strands.

“Jisung..”

“Yeah?”

“You’re really sweaty.”

“..It’s your fault.”

“Sorry~”

“...”

“...Wanna hear a joke?”

The boy pokes your cheek, smiling. “Sure.”

“Yay!” A small giggle escapes your lips and you look up into your boyfriend’s eyes. “Jeno told me this one~”

“Oh no.”

“Nooo,” You hit his chest lightly. “I promise it’s good.”

You can feel the vibration as Jisung chuckles to himself. “Alright, alright. Tell me.”

You take a deep breath. “So, these cats are playing a game of hide-and-seek, right?”

“Mhm..”

“And the boundaries are everywhere but the jungle.”

“Okay...”

“Why can’t they go in the jungle?”

Jisung plants a kiss on the crown of your head, pretending to ponder the answer. “I don’t know, why?”

“Because the jungle is full of cheetahs! Like, they’re cheaters. Hehe..” You frown when your boyfriend gives you a blank stare. “Hey, don’t look at me like that!”

“Oh.” He pretends to snap out of his distant state. “I mean, hahaha. Very funny.”

“It’s not my fault you don’t like my jokes.”

“Your jokes are too cute for me.”

“But you’re the definition of cute???”

Jisung buries his face into your hair, pulling your body even closer to his. Taking this as a sign to calm down, you close your eyes again. You enjoy the small kisses he occasionally scatters, as the warmth of the bed relaxes you. Just as your drifting off to sleep, his voice catches your attention again.

“You know how much I love you, right?”

You couldn’t find the energy to open your eyes again, not that Jisung had his open either. “Where is this coming from?”

He breathes calmly for a short moment before answering. “I don’t know, I just wanted to tell you.”

The corners of your lips form a smile. “I love you too, Jisung.”

“How much..?”

“A lotta lotta lot.”

“Is ‘a lotta lotta lot’ enough to spend the rest of your life with me?”

He receives no response. Not even a little movement from the love of his life lying in his arms. His eyebrows furrow.

“Y/N.. Are you sleeping...?”

“...Yes.”

Jisung’s cheeks flush from embarrassment. “I’m trying to be serious, don’t tease me like that...”

“I know.” You tilt your head upwards, kissing your boyfriend’s chin. “The yes was to answer your first question.”

“Okay, that’s good.” 

The boy relaxes, finally feeling the drowsiness take over. He begins to draw circles on your back as he drifts off into a deep sleep.

“Good night, Y/N.”

“Night, Jisung.”

1. ... To Be Loved by Papa Roach - I would like to say this song means much to me.. But actually I just enjoy the sound of this song so much, most of the time I don't even listen to the lyrics. 😅 But I really love Papa Roach, one of my favs!

2. Shinzou wo Sasageyo by Linked Horizon - This is the first opening for Shingeki No Kyojin Season 2. That anime is the best and this opening is a blessing. 👌

3. Cirice by Ghost - I heard this song first when they won something over Slipknot. I immidiately fell in love with the sound and the clip. This band is really something!

4. Nem Szól a Harang by Leander Kills - "Nem Szól a Harang" means "Bells Don't Ring" in Hungarian (you can actually find an english version, if you'd like to know what they are singing about - but for me, the original Hungarian will always be better), Leander Kills is my favorite Hungarian band. I went to 2 of their concerts here and it was a blast. 🤘

5. Tsukiakari Illuminate by MEZZO - Ahaha I knew some of these will get here. Idolish7 is like my favorite anime atm. I really really love and enjoy it and I'm watching it again and again. MEZZO is a band from the anime/game (I can't play, sadly I can't read or speak japanese) and their songs are just beautiful. 😍

6. Chop Suey! by System of a Down - I don't really have much to say about it. This is just awesome and everyone should listen to this! :D

7. Secret Night by TRIGGER - Ahh yeey TRIGGER! They are from Idolish7 too and they are my favorite band (sorry Idolish7 ❤️) and I love all of their songs and just... Yeah, I love them and this song is my 2nd favorite!

8. Világvevő by USEME - Now, USEME is another Hungarian band. "Világvevő" literally means "Worldbuyer" but this sounds ridiculous in English. 😂 I found out about them when they played before Leander Kills and I actually really enjoyed their performance and fell in love with their music! They were really fun on the stage! :D

9. Sans and Papyrus Song, an Undertale Rap by JT Music - Okay this.. So Undertale is a really big thing for me, I really got invested in the game and the world of it and then.. I found out there are quite a few fanmade songs and they are actually pretty good! And this one is my favorite. Heck, it was the first thing I heard in the morning for a few months. 😂

10. Outlaws of Love by Adam Lambert - Adam is my idol. I really look up to him and he had a really big impact on my life. I don't think I would be the same person without him being in my life. And this song is just.. So beautiful and meaningful. I cry every time I hear it. I kind of think of this as a hymn for LGBTQ+.

So yeah, that's it. It was fun and it kinda covers my taste in music. :D I mean rock, metal, alternative with some game/japanese anime music and Adam Lambert as the cherry on top. Yep, accurate. 👌

Pure but Dirty

Here I am with another song analysis in “Lyrical Love”! The subject is a song by the visual kei band Pentagon, precisely one of their earliest ones, Fatima, released as second track of their first full album Call me... on 18th February 2015. The song reflects perfectly their musical style, freaking and energetic, with a theme surrounded of contrasting images and a playful atmosphere.

THE MUSIC

The song is opened by an energetic rhythm, driven by pounding drums and an engaging and dark guitar keeping up the melody; Chizuru’s voice is light and flowing, building up a funny and technical song, improved by the nice guitar work and the pace kept by the drums, making it one of their best songs.

THE WORDS

Written by the singer Chizuru, the song features a quite unique layout, with short lines, enriched by some words written in katakana characters, which corresponds to the capital letters in this case, probably for a sort of slang style (I translated some line for being closer to the literal meaning). For understanding better the meaning of this song, we should start with the album where it is put; it is named after the temporary duo composed by Chizuru and the bassist Minpha and when they founded Pentagon, named after their rabbit mascotte, they wanted to put out a concept based on the contrast between darkness and fantasy, which moves all of their songs such in a way. In this one the contrast is between the pureness, represented by the title name, Fatima, meaning from Arabian “the one who weans children” and often associated to a blessed image, and the dirt, represented by a cruel act that covers her of a dark aura, where the protagonist tries to get her to her original essence. And now... let’s review!

I) The text starts with two pretty contrasting images, the waxing moon (Michita tsuki, symbol of the illumination which grows in a long time) and the clouded logic (kasumu risei, synonym of doubt), followed by the traces of fingers burnt by the sun (kusuriyubi hiyake no ato, symbol of feminility and potency); then the protagonist sees in his eyes the reflection of another person, different from the one he was expecting, defining it an unpleasant sight, hated by his pupils (hora mata hoka no dareka o utsusu/mezawari SONO HITOMI GA KIRAI).

II) He tries to accept completely the person close to him, whose egocentric pleasure is dressed in red, the color of passion (ZENBU UKEIRETE/EGO no kairaku to makka na DORESU ni); so he invites the other one to drown with him, so that the red becomes an ornated white, pure and precious (oboremashou/shiage na shiro o soete hitorijime).

III) The protagonist calls the other one with her name, Fatima, who shakes so that a crowd gathers for her in love (Fatima yureru Fatima/muragaru karasu koi kogare), while actually she is killing them with her dirty soul (koroshimashita), defining this act as her favourite psycho-proposal (Okiniiri/PSYCHO PUROPO-ZU).

IV) He deeply accepted his situation with her, describing it with an atmosphere colored of pitch black, illuminated by the moon’s light (FUKAKU UKEIRETE tsukiakari terasu makkura na koko de, this line is linked to the first one of the song, where the waxing moon’s light shines over the clouded logic in the protagonist’s mind); then he invites her to meet at their love, calling her a poor Cinderella (aishiaou/ugokanai kawaisou na SHINDERERA) and after repeating the refrain part, he asks her if she remembers him (boku no koto oboeteimasu ka?), but she ends being blocked in his love (saegiru anata koi kogare), a surprise even for her sinister intent (SAPURAIZU/PSYCHO PUROPO-ZU).

Pure and dirty, light and darkness, love and deception; all these opposite forces clash and intertwine in this song by Pentagon, a band which express their own ideas with efficient and strong words, like in a comic, but their message is easy to understand and to embrace completely, as a good visual band can be able to do.
