tsukasa never wanted to be a knight, he wanted to be an actor! he wanted to make people smile, and it was the only way he got saki to smile! but in order to guarantee saki got any help for her curse, he had to give up on that dream. he's still a hardworking, dependable person! it's just that being a knight was never his dream
