EVERY CORNER OF THIS HOUSE IS HAUNTED. (1)
Synopsis ! Jake had taken you as his own after Tsu'tey's passing, leaving no one to care for you. Things had been good before your relationship with him had blurred along growing of age. You and him fought all the time; argued each other's ear off and tonight was no different-- except words have been said, severing the already damaged bond. Content & warning Jake sully x Daughter!Reader, Sully kids x Sister!Reader Neytiri x Daughter!Reader. (wc; 3104)
Jake knew a saying; held onto it ever since he had resided amongst Na’vi– every person is born twice. While he believed that it meant that the second time is when you earn your place here in Pandora, Eywa had a clever way of broadening the idea. His very children were proof of it.
He thinks it’s the great mother’s way of compensation, perhaps a second chance for him to do better– to do his very best to keep them alive on behalf of those he lost.
While Kiri was a special case enough, you too were an odd one.
You are Tsu’tey's daughter. Turns out, he had someone in secret while he trained to become olo’eyktan– when he was supposed to take Neytiri for himself. It was taboo– absolutely wrong to become unfaithful to one’s mate. But following the carnage of the great war, when Tsu’tey had so selflessly sacrificed his life, only then did Tsi’ewa came forward; told everyone of their love and what could have been. She was a simple songstress along Ninat, but it was her round and bulging belly that caught everyone’s attention.
It caused an uproar and understandably so. After all, Neytiri had only announced her rebellion with Jake not long before, but when the people connected the dots themselves and both stories had become one, they understood that their hearts merely yearned for another and no one should have ever dictated otherwise. Arrangements had been made and condolences were exchanged— everyone can only look back and wish that things could have been different.
Jake was supposed to take you under his wing as a way of honoring him– he owed Tsu’tey his life and perhaps an apology as big as so. But after your mother had unfortunately died during your birth, he knew to himself that he had to take you in; not as a responsibility, but as his own blood and flesh. His first daughter.
You were the loudest baby, he recalled. That day, Jake had rocked your body back and forth in his arms frantically, while Mo’at and Neytiri did everything within their power to help Tsì'ewa. Your cries were ear-splitting, enough to wake the whole clan up.
“Just what do I do with you,” He muttered under his breath, eyebrows knitted in frustration– just where do he hold you? Is he doing it right? Are you hurt? Why are you crying so loud?
“Jake, the baby!” Neytiri’s shout from inside had cut his train of loud thoughts, snapping back to your bawling. He wasn’t doing such a good job.
“I’m trying, Neytiri– this thing won’t budge.”
Neytiri had emerged from the hut, stomping her way to Jake with a scowl. "That is not a thing, you skxawng!" she exclaimed before gently scooping you up from his arms, cooing softly to you– though it was more like mocking him instead. “Does Jake here make you cry?” She said, patting your thigh soothingly. “He’s not at all pleasant to look at, but you have to get used to it.”
Almost in an instant, your cries had died down. You babbled along with her, like you were agreeing with her every word. He slowly pulled himself closer to Neytiri, eyes wide with curiosity as he watched your small hands playing with her long braids. “Heh, she has Tsu’tey’s eyes,” He whispers, unable to look away.
The flap of the hut swinging open was the only thing that got their attention, momentarily away from yours as they looked at Mo’at with anticipation. With a single shake of her head, sorrow surged their hearts, eyes traveling back to your innocent ones. They mourned for you; an unknowing child should never have to carry such grief. They had to make a choice– A responsibility they weren’t expecting to have so early.
Jake mindlessly trails his finger down your stomach, gently, like you were the most fragile thing. Your little hand wraps around it and it was like you had binded his scattered thoughts into one big understanding.
Sully. You’re one of them now.
Jake releases a breathless chuckle as he gazes upon his lover and you with a newfound clarity, a perspective so bright it illuminated in his very eyes. Then came an idea– the desire of having children of their own. Perhaps that’s why Neteyam came after only two years. You were quite the ploy; the push they needed to start a family.
You were truly blessed– the genius of your age was undeniable, your remarkable talent soon earning you the admiration of all who had seen it. By the time you turned six, you had already mastered many of the abilities that a hunter would need– your skills with a bow were unrivaled by most of the children your age, let alone those who were much older than you. They'd marvel at your accuracy each time you took aim with an arrow. You could never miss. You had to make sure you didn’t.
By the age of 12, you had already accompanied Jake in hunts. You had developed a knack for planning, coming up with routes and back-up plans that were often surprisingly effective. You have proved to be helpful plenty of times. You were quick, silent– full of poise. They often wondered if you were an old, seasoned soul trapped inside a little girl’s body.
But as quickly as the spotlight had shone down on you, it left almost as soon as it had come.
(“What you did today was reckless, y/n.” Jake settles his bow on the table aggressively, emitting a sharp thud. You were just as frustrated, throwing your satchel down the floor of the hut.
The mission had gone rather wildly, with things not going along the plan. There was another airship– one that no one was aware of. Your instincts jolted your body, immediately throwing an explosive towards it which had it blowing all over the place– its pieces crashing and causing a wildfire.
Jake argued that there could’ve been a more safer way. One that didn’t have to risk more of our resources and supplies; one that didn’t have to injure the other warriors. Of course you knew to yourself that you did the right thing. You did what you had to do.
‘You could’ve been hurt and got others killed! Just what were you thinking?” He continued to berate you. You jest that if this went on, there’d be steam visible above his already heated head.
“I had to take a risk– not everything goes to plan and this is proof of it.” You answered back with a scowl, “If I hadn't, there would’ve been more casualties.”
“That’s not a call for you to answer to! Jesus Christ,” Jake runs his palms down his face, grunting, before looking back at you– expression suddenly tired and soft. “Come on kid, where’s that sweetheart who always listened to what I said?”
You had scoffed, a hurt forming on the pits of your stomach. “That sweetheart once had a place in plans before.” You said, eyes unwilling to look at him. It weighed in your heart heavily– why did people assume that you were the only one who changed? You didn’t understand. “Pretty sure the Jake before was a good listener too.”
The wrinkle in between his eyebrows deepened in confusion, but he never was one for confrontation. With a single dismissive grunt, he turns his back against you. “I’m way past your attitude. You’re grounded. Go.”)
As you grew, the resemblance to your father became ever more apparent. Jake started noticing the many similarities between the two of you; the way you walked– how you sauntered confidently through a crowd. Your braids would move along your heavy steps (and perhaps, that’s where Neteyam got his mannerism of swaying his too.), shoulders wide and proud. You even had his signature snarl, something Tsu’tey was known for that unfortunately seemed to have been passed down to you too.
However, it was more than how you brought yourself. You were strong-willed– stubborn.
There was another thing about you too. You didn’t call Jake dad anymore. It hurt him– left a heavy feeling on his chest every time you regarded him so distant. It was unfair that you still called Neytiri mom, why did it have to change with him? He didn’t have the heart to address it. Couldn’t ask you what went wrong.
Because he knows damn well why.
Lo’ak was enough of a headache, but you were a different kind of royal pain in the ass, more like a personal problem. It was tiresome. Petty. There was not a day that you and Jake wouldn’t argue and bite each other’s ass off– and yet, there was never a day where you two would talk it out. The fights would blur itselves out and before they knew it, things would be back to normal, only for it to fall out again over something small. It was routine. The only thing normal for you both.
He missed you– missed his baby. Just when did you grow to become so distant? When did he start to overlook you?
You’ll admit, you might have indulged in the folk’s gossip. They always had a story for everything and they have plenty about your father. Tsu’tey was a fit olo’eyktan. He had proved so in his training and determination. Of course it was a low punch in the gut when the throne had been passed to an outsider– a demon, most of all. It was unfair, he knew it wasn’t right. A washed up marine had taken something he had worked for like it was nothing. Like he was nothing.
You pitied your father and you feared you’d be like him– like nothing.
And history might just repeat itself. You weren’t clueless– wasn’t blind to the fact that Jake had trained your brother more. He adored him so much that the very moment he was in the right age to train, you were off to fend for yourself; trained all alone while Jake went over the routine with Neteyam like he did with you. You remembered waiting for him every afternoon because he promised that he’d make time– that time was yours and yours only. But as the light bled and neared eclipse and you were too cold to wait outside, you learned never to wait again.
They would come home soon after– smiles on their faces and a handful of apologies for you.
Soon enough, your suspicions proved you right as the people started to talk again; Neteyam– the golden child. He would make a good olo’eyktan.
Perhaps that would explain the drift between you and Neteyam too. Could they blame you for it? You had lost their attention so early– while you still needed them. You weren’t their kid and you were reminded of it everyday. In times when you didn’t know if you had space in the family hammock while they sat together, telling stories under the starry sky. You pretended to have fallen asleep everytime; back against them as you listened. In times where the family was growing and growing, until the small table wasn’t big enough for everyone anymore– or in this case, for you.
(“Come on, ma’ite, what are you doing so far from here?” Neytiri had called for you when she noticed how distant you were from everyone. You silently scooted beside her, wooden bowl in your lap. “Look, I prepared your favorite.”
It wasn’t. You hated it. You hated the tangy taste of it so badly. But you had decided to eat what was left on the table after everyone had gotten their meals and there wasn’t usually enough for you. Neytiri thought nothing of that– didn’t think that you eating only scraps and dried fruit was because there wasn’t anything else for you to have. She simply thought that it was your favorite and had been making it for you ever since.
You didn’t have the heart to tell her. Not when she thought she had been doing well with preparing it. You kissed your teeth, smiling tightly as you lifted the food to your lips, eating silently. “Thank you, it’s good.” You muttered under your breath after.)
But you were family; they said so themselves. When they tucked you in to sleep, when they patted your head. They were still present now, just not in the way you wanted– not in the way you longed for. It seemed like making them angry was the only way you could have their attention– particularly, your dad. You could never make Neytiri mad. She tries to understand you, she does. Explaining now just seems so.. Petty. So childish, you decided to push her away instead.
What do you tell her? That you only let dad blow a fuse or two was because you missed him? Because you didn’t know what went wrong?
So there goes your routine.
“I just don’t understand why I can’t be olo’eykte.” You had brought up again, lips in a familiar snarl. “You tire me and for what? Kiri is already training to be Tsahik– just what would my place in this clan be?”
“We are not having this conversation again, y/n. Not tonight.”
Jake had just returned from a particularly bad hunt; went home empty-handed and with a patience as thin as a strand of hair. He continued to sharpen his dagger, movements almost aggressive. Everyone immediately went out of his way, not wanting to be on the end of his temper– not you though. You could never get a hint, it seems.
“Yes, tonight! My ceremony is almost near, sir. I have been waiting.”
It wasn’t like he had a reason anyway. Jake couldn’t tell you because he had no reason as to why. Why couldn’t you be olo’eykte? You had all the skills to be one, even more so. But in the back of his mind, a thought so deep and petty that he couldn’t bear to say, tells him that the name he carried was something to gift his eldest son. Olo’eyktan was a privilege reserved for Neteyam. He never thought to have you so early– he always dreamed of having a son first.
“Wait more.”
“This is insane– sa’nok!” You had turned to Neytiri, eyes pleading. She quickly grasps your arm and tries to tug you back towards the exit, speaking in a soft but firm voice as she tries to soothe the tension.
“Ma’ite, why don’t we go out for a walk?” She whispers. To be frank, she was tired of this– never of you, no. But at the way things had been. Parents aren’t parents automatically just because they have had children of their own. It’s a skill they have yet to muster– to truly understand. She didn’t know where the line between you and her had blurry along the years. Didn’t know where this constant need of yours to be seen came from.
You jerked your arm away from her, almost too harshly. It tugged on her heartstrings, not knowing what was going on with you. “I cannot wait anymore.” You said, taking two steps towards Jake with an unreadable anger– an anger he didn’t know when had stemmed from.
“Is it because I’m not your daughter?”
His eyes widened. A flash of vulnerability visible in his gaze, momentarily softening his glare. “You stop this right now, y/n.” He had stood up, tucking the dagger back to his loincloth. Jake’s larger frame towered over you, telling you to drop it– to leave the conversation. But you weren’t backing down.
“I am your eldest–! You trained me earlier than Neteyam, I have been here long enough–”
“You aren’t ready!” He had shouted with the same fierceness, earning a dirty look from Neytiri.
“Why won’t you see me?” Your voice had softened, borderline begging– just a bit, but enough for his ears to flatten in response. He knew that beneath those few simple words lay many layers of underlying meaning; emotions that have yet to be spoken.
But he turns his back against you dismissively anyway. “Neytiri, get her out of here.”
Neytiri grabs you by the arms again, although a bit forceful now, but just enough for her to touch you– to have you in between her arms. She embraced you, like she was trying to keep the words from escalating. She feared one of you would say something out of line; something you both would regret.
But on the brink of the tension– the severity of the situation, you had muttered. Your voice was muffled, but it was clear. The message was oh so crystal. “You took everything from my father.”
Jake grunts, “Yeah? Well maybe your father wasn’t enough either.”
“Jake!” Neytiri hisses and although Jake couldn’t see her, he knew very well he was getting quite the conversation with his mate too.
It was a low blow. Unnecessary. A straight strike to the gut. It was a pain so bitter, you didn’t want it to linger any longer– you were nauseous. You wanted no more than to vomit everything that spiraled out of your stomach.
“You want to lead so badly and you can’t even control your temper. No clan wants a hot-head for a leader.” But he kept going– relentless and cruel. “You ought to be someone else’s shadow.”
“But I’m your daughter,” Your tone had softened, almost cracking as the lump in your throat grew. Tears blurred your vision, threatening to escape as Neytiri held you close.
“And yet you never listen to me— because I’m not exactly your father, yeah?” With one last glance, he stepped out, passing his children who stayed just outside the door, listening. Jake opens his mouth, desperate to ease the tension– the discomfort written in their faces, but he quickly shuts it and continues to walks out. He had said enough for tonight. There was nothing saving his face from this. It was best if he left instead.
“Oh, ma’ite.” Neytiri rocks her body along yours, drawing soothing circles on your back but the embarrassment settles in your chest– gnawing at your body. You catch a glance of the pitiful looks from your siblings as they try to enter the hut silently.
How could you make a mess out of yourself in front of them? Why had you let this blown over?
You retracted slowly from your mother’s hold, wiping your tears before running the opposite way from where Jake had gone to. It was better if you left instead.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐓. | Tsu'tey!Daughter
⤷ second installment of 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒, coming soon. ✎ᝰ ── based on the song : my tears ricochet , by taylor swift.
⤷ part 1 out of 2 | summary for part 2 is currently unavailable.
ˏˋ °•*⁀➷ set before the events of atwow.
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 :
Being the daughter of the great warrior Tsu'tey, came with some tremendous baggage and demanding pressure. Not only did you have high expectations to reach, but it seemed as if he was always trying to one-up the Olo'eyktan's daughter through you. How bizarre.
Even so, nothing could come between the remarkable bond you two shared. Over the years, Tsu'tey's pride for you seemed to blossom to new heights as you grew. From witnessing your Ikniyama, to fending off the young boys in the clan that feasted their eyes on you.
Alas, peace tends to be ripped away in blind moments of bliss. It's always right when you least expect it, is what is always said.
For a man so callous and hyperaware, nothing could prepare him for such dire consequences as the doomsday of war collapses on them.
He'd always tell you how brave and capable you are, preparing you for these very crucial moments.
But now the hands of death are glooming over you.
— So what does bravery do in retrospect of wishing you could stay within your home's grasp for eternity?

I can be a better father
Pair: Tsu'tey x Child y/n x Child spider
Warning: Sad, jake being a bad parent, tsu'tey being the peer we all love. Neytiri being a sweetheart.
Note: I had a previous version, but I wanted to make this one from scratch. But if you want to read more about "bad dad jake" HERE. I hope you like it a lot, I really enjoyed making this oneshot.
Request: (anonymous) Idk if your the one who did Jake having a daughter from a one night stand thing and him and her having a strain relationship , I was thinking if Tsu'tey is alive and him seeing her and Spider being literally outcast and kinda neglected by the humans for one reayor another he kinda adopted both of them as his own ( and proybe bit petty for Jake being the way he is he do things better) Like reader just call Jake Jake and not dad but have a good relationship with their half siblings ( they call Tsu'tey dad and he may be rough he dose care about his kids )
Avatar masterlist | Part 1, Part 2 , Part 3
If there was one thing tsu'tey liked to do in the afternoons, it was to go hunting alone. Walking through the jungle, with his bow and enjoying the silence that the jungle provided. He was very comfortable in various branches and bushes, the austrapede was right before his eyes, standing still while eating grass. Just as he was about to shoot, he saw the animal raise its head in alertness and run away. At the same time, he heard a noise coming from his feet. Looking down, he found a small creature. Little Y/N. He relaxed his shoulders, and lowered his bow. Watching as the girl was still literally sitting on he feet with a fruit. The girl was moving the fruit up and down and tapping it on the ground in order to break it.
"y/n" tsu'tey speaks softly, watching as the little girl looks up to see her favorite person. "Tsu…look!!!" speaks the little girl, lifting the fruit in the air. Tsu'tey laughs a little, and kneels down so that he can be at the same height as the little girl. The girl gets up from the ground, and automatically approaches the na'vi. Showing her the fruit. " I want….hunger" y/n speaks, in a very basic na'vi language. The poor thing was trying to learn to speak na'vi and English at the same time. Tsu'tey takes the fruit in her hands, the fruit was very big for a little girl. "What are you doing here alone?" asks tsu'tey stroking the little girl's hands, noticing that she had some scratches and her clothes were all dirty. Out of nowhere, a noise calls her attention…looking up to some bushes ahead. Tsu'tey takes the girl by the arm. Hugging her in order to protect her. "Y/N!!! LOOK…I FOUND MORE!!!" shouts spider, running to the direction where the girl was. Tsu'tey's heart calmed down, as he saw the other human child passing by in the village.
The child run, and bumped into tsu'tey's arm which had them reached out for the child to hug him. "spider…what are you doing here?" asks Tsutey, he knew that spider spoke the na'vi language better and was more extroverted than y/n. "We were hungry and went out hunting" says spider, playfully gesturing with his wooden bow, which tsu'tey had given him as a gift a couple of months ago. "you guys are hungry…wow" says tsu'tey, watching as y/n settles more on his chest. Tsu'tey noticed that spider was also dirty and his tired little face was showing. "Are you tired?" asks tsu'tey, wiping some of spider's hair. They both nod their heads. "How about we go to my hut and I help you cut this fruit?" says Tsutey, the children got happy and started jumping up and down. Tsu'tey stood up and began to guide both little ones home. He didn't have to worry much, both children knew the way very well.
It was not the first time tsu'tey had encountered these two human children. Left alone in the jungle, without parental supervision. This made him uncomfortable and annoyed him. He knew that spider was the son of the man who had hurt his clan, his planet. And he also knew that Y/N was the daughter of jake, well…of the human version of jake. He knew the whole story, neytiri had told him. At first it all seemed strange to him, but with time he could understand. What he couldn't understand was why jakesully didn't love you and always rejected you in some way. Y/n was still his daughter…whatever it was. But apparently he didn't understand this, which caused the man to care much more about the young children. They were both 5 years old, and he could not stop worrying about the welfare of both children. At first it was difficult for him to get close to the two children, but he got used to it.
"Ok…sit over there…and I'll help you cut that fruit" says tsu'tey watching the children running around the hut. Laughing and playing as they sat down where tsu'tey had ordered them to. The man reached for a container of water and a cloth. He had to clean the children up a bit, it pained him to see them so careless. He sat down next to spider, while y/n sat on his lap. "Tsu…I want a giant piece" says spider, yelling a little. Tsu'tey tapped him on the glass of his mask. "Spider…don't scream…I'm right here beside you" says tsu'tey laughing as he watched the boy get up to start playing with some toys tsu'tey had. He made some wooden toys for when they would visit him at his home. "Let's see…you know what you have to do. Hold your breath, pull up your mask and put the fruit in your mouth" says tsu'tey handing a piece to y/n. She was sitting on his lap all this time, quietly.
After the children eat their fruit, he cleans the children. Cleaning their hands, face, combing some of their hair. He even put some beads in their hair, according to him to make them look more of the clan. "How about if I make you some new clothes?" said tsu'tey. The children were so happy, spider grabbed y/n's hand, inviting her to play with him. Tsu'tey enjoyed the view, watching the children play and run around the hut. This felt so good, he always wanted a family. It all seemed so far from reality…he had gotten the idea that he was never going to find his mate. And that he would never have a family. So he enjoyed these moments with the children. After a fun afternoon for him, he decided to take the children to their respective homes. That was the ugly place which humans called 'laboratory'. Tsu'tey had the children carried in his arms, spider was on his neck holding his head, while y/n was on his left arm. The child was holding a little flower she had found on the road. "Y/N!!!" a somewhat loud voice was heard from the distance, tsu'tey watched as jake approached him. The man approached tsu'tey, and tried to take y/n in his arms. But the little girl clung to tsu'tey's arms. "Come here…we have to go home. Where had you gone?" asks jake, his tone of voice sounding annoyed. "They were in the jungle…both children" says tsu'tey holding both children tighter. "I think they ran away from me and…" jake started to give an explanation.
"There is no excuse…you have to be more aware of them. If you don't want y/n, at least watch out for their safety," tsu'tey says even more annoyed. Jake remains silent, he knew his friend was right. Jake did love you, but he didn't have the same connection he had with his children. He was never there during your pregnancy, or in your first years of life. So to him…y/n was just another child. Tsu'tey carefully handed both children to jake. "Take them to a safe place…please" tsu'tey talks, while releasing the little ones. They didn't want to get away from him. Spider was whining and y/n was starting to cry. Tsu'tey gave him a little kiss on the crown of his head and said goodbye to the children. Watching as jake tried to soothe them. It broke his heart, how he wished he could stay with them. But how could that be possible? He could pick up spider, he had no one. But y/n? She had her father…he couldn't go and ask her…that would never happen.
That same week, the children continued to hang out in their hut. Playing and spending all day with him. He practically had two new little tails. He would feed them, which was a difficult task because of the oxygen masks. He also taught them what they needed to know to survive in Pandora. And he gave them lots of love…who would have thought that a man like tsu'tey could be so loving. He combed and cared for his children. He liked to think of them as his…his little babies. Everyone in the clan was surprised to see tsu'tey with two human children, treating them as if they were his own. They talked and said comments but he didn't care. Someone had to take care of these two orphans and he was doing it. While jake and norm were in their own worlds…neytiri noticed tsu'tey's new behavior toward the human children.
Unlike jake, neytiri cared about you. She always tried to take care of you, when you were in the family hut. After all, you were half-sister to her children. It was the middle of the day…and she was sitting in the hut, looking after and watching her young children play. And in that group was y/n…playing with lo'ak. She watched as the little girl ran up, screaming. "'Dad…daddy!!!'" says y/n. Running toward the entrance, neytiri turns around expecting to see her mate. But she was surprised to see tsu'tey standing in the doorframe. The man had a basket full of vegetables, and was kneeling down waiting for the little girl's hug. The girl hugs him with all her heart, as he lifts her into the air, settling her in his arms. Walking to where neytiri was. "Hello…neytiri. I brought something for the family" says tsu'tey, he seemed to be very happy. "Thank you…I am grateful" says neytiri, accepting the basket and watching as her friend sat down next to her. All the children went to greet them, he lovingly greeted them one by one.
Neytiri appreciated the treatment and love tsu'tey had for her children. That's how it should be…after all he was practically her brother. After greeting all the children, Y/n hugged tsu'tey again and settled on her lap. "my pretty flower…how are you? Have you eaten?" asks tsu'tey, adjusting the girl's hair. "Yes… neyney gave me a nice meal" says the little girl lifting up her dirty shirt to show her stomach. Both adults laugh, neytiri reaches over and touches the little girl's stomach tickling it. She liked that nickname the little y/n had given her, neyney….sounded so adorable. "That sounds perfect…look I brought you something?" says Tsutey, pulling something out of a little pouch on his waist. Neteyam had come over, sitting right next to you on tsu'tey's lap. "Is that clothes?" asks the little neteyam, squeezing his sister. "yes, it's for y/n…it's just like kiri's" says tsu'tey, untangling the clothes. Stretching it out to show it to everyone, neytiri was surprised. It was small, but it was very beautiful. With feathers, and very delicate stones.
" My,my,my!!!" y/n speak, raising her arms so she could take her clothes. "Kiri…why don't you help your sister change" neytiri says, while kiri took y/n's hand. Behind the two of them, there was neteyam. "We have to put a bracelet on her" shouts the boy, both adults laugh. Tsu'tey was surprised at how attached the children were to y/n, even neytiri. So the problem was…jake. "She calls you dad," neytiri says, not mincing words. As she looked at what was in the basket. "She just calls 'jake' to her father…" neytiri was about to keep talking, when tsu'tey interrupts her. "Neytiri… being a parent is something you earn. And I think I have done an excellent job with those children." Tsu'tey says, he was proud of his words, for he knew they were true. "I know… and I am very proud of you. I'm aware that my partner doesn't give her the attention that child needs… so you've earned that title," the woman speaks. They both stand in silence for a while.
"I think I would be a better father to her? And also for the boy?" speaks tsu'tey, neytiri now looks at him with concern. She didn't know what to tell him now, this was a difficult situation. "You mean…you want to adopt them?" asks neytiri, she wanted to be sure she had listened well. "Yes, I want them to be my children. I will take complete care of them and Jake won't have to worry about anything…they will be in good hands."
Neytiri knows deep down that this is for the best. Although it was hard to believe, tsu'tey had accepted the presence of those human children. Maybe he felt sorry for them, since they spent all day alone. If Y/N was not with neytiri, she was alone with spider doing what things. She knew tsu'tey would be an excellent father, and she would support him. "I'll talk to jake…but I'm not promising anything" says neytiri, seeing how on tsu'tey's face a big smile was drawn. "She will still come and she will be with her brothers…I just want her to be safe" tsu'tey tries to convince neytiri. The woman puts a hand on her friend's shoulder. "Calm down…I will do what I can" neytiri speaks. They both looked up, when they heard the children approaching. Y/N had the na'vi clothes that tsu'tey had made for him. She also had a few accessories that her siblings had put on her. Y/N runs to neytiri, wrapping her small arms around her neck. "Let me see…you look very pretty. Do you like it?" says neytiri, arranging several pieces of the outfit. "Yessssss!!!" shouts the excited little girl. "Mom…did you see that I put my bracelet on y/n…it looks better on her" says neteyam, arranging more of the piece on her sister's arm.
"They did a great job," tsu'tey says. Neytiri fixes the girl's hair, while her brothers play with her. "Hey…how do you say?" orders neytiri looking at you with a serious look. "Thank you" y/n gets shy, while thanking tsu'tey. The latter reaches over and caresses a cheek of the little one. He could already feel the excitement, hopefully jake would accept. He felt grateful to know that someone cared for her, neytiri was doing a great job in taking care of her. And if he kept the little girl, he would bring y/n every day to spend time with her. He could tell they had a nice relationship. After a while, the man said goodbye to everyone, neytiri told him that she was going to stay with y/n and not to worry. He had to go to the lab to look for spider. He had also prepared an outfit for his little boy.
When he got to the lab, he knocked on the door. Norm let spider out, the man took good care of him. But not well enough, children need to be given love and time. And these people weren't doing that. He waited patiently for his boy to come out. According to Norm, Spider was asleep and he had to get him up. After about 5 minutes, the little boy came out, sleepy. Tsu'tey carries him, and the little boy hugs him. "I brought you a surprise," says tsu'tey, lowering the boy to the ground. As he pulled out a bundle, in which his new outfit was wrapped. Spider was so happy, tsu'tey's eyes lit up at the sight of the little boy's face. So excited, for such a simple gesture. Spider took the gift and ran inside the lab to change. "Wait for me here!!!" shouts the boy tsu'tey laughs and sits down on the metal stairs to wait for the boy. He is convinced that it was a good idea to create their own na'vi clothing, this way they will be cleaner and feel more comfortable.
The day happened just as he had planned it. If everything went well…Jake would agree to let him stay and take care of y/n. If he was a smart man he would agree to let him stay and take care of them. If he was a smart man he would agree right away. Tsu'tey began to clear away the mess he had in his hut. There were a few toys that the children had left in the morning, he was so happy. After a while, he heard someone enter his hut, "Hello…" tsu'tey spoke, noticing that it was Jake who had arrived. He quickly interrupts him. "You think you can just go to neytiri and ask her for me to give y/n to you. That's not how it works" says jake, he was a bit annoyed. This put tsu'tey on alert, how dare he complain to him if he didn't even want to and didn't even pay attention to y/n. "Are you listening to yourself… I'm the one who takes care of those children. I'm the one who feeds them, takes care of them and watches over them. You don't even pay attention to y/n" tsu'tey raises his voice, he is so upset. He wanted to hit this man right now, but he was controlling himself. Just then, neytiri arrives at the hut. She was agitated and you could see her worried face.
"Norm lost the children!!!" says neytiri worriedly. The woman had taken y/n to the lab in the afternoon. She handed her over to Norm, since y/n couldn't sleep all night in the hut, the oxygen wouldn't last long. But couple of minutes later, lo'ak came running to his mother saying that when he went to play with his sister and didn't find her and that norm was looking for her. And that with her was spider. Neytiri quickly tried to explain everything to the men in front of her, she felt that she had interrupted something that was about to end very badly. Hearing that spider and y/n were lost, he quickly ran, pushing jake aside and going to the lab area. Neytiri didn't even look at Jake and took off after his friend. Jake followed some time later.
Tsu'tey arrived at the lab upset, norm was in his avatar body holding a flashlight. Tsu'tey grabbed norm's shoulders, he had to tell him where the children were. "No…they said they were going to play nearby, they said something about some flowers" norm spoke quickly, tsu'tey could be quite an intimidating man. As soon as norm mentioned flowers, tsu'tey knew where both children are. He relaxed a little, but not at all, the road to that place could be quite dangerous at night. Tsu'tey started walking, ignoring some complaints from jake and some questions from neytiri. They decided to follow the man without any protests. The path was quite close, it was a place where tsu'tey used to take the children to play. A nice meadow that had a lot of flowers, bright. It was a beautiful place, but it could be a bit dangerous for two five year olds.
Arriving at the meadow tsu'tey saw two small figures in the dark, he approached slowly accompanied by jake, neytiri and norm. "And what are you two doing here?" speaks tsu'tey with a calm and sweet voice. Causing both children to look up, running a little towards the man. Tsu'tey wrapped his arms around them, sighing with relief. "I thought something serious happened to you guys…you shouldn't be here at night" says tsu'tey, looking annoyed at the children. "We're sorry!!!" says both children, holding hands. Jake walks over to where the children are, carrying them. "Well…we have to go" says jake, neytiri stood next to tsu'tey…she knew he was upset. She took his hand and gave it a squeeze. "I tried…but he's kind of stubborn" neytiri speaks. "He doesn't know how to take care of them…. y/n. He…" tsu'tey turns away from neytiri and starts walking home.
He could feel several tears running down his cheeks. He felt anger and insufficient… he only wanted the best for these children. He himself felt strange, to feel compassion and affection for human children. He arrived at his hut, and quickly lay down in his hammock. He had to get used to the idea that he could never have his own family, that he would never be able to take enough care of these children, because they did not belong to him and although he did not like the idea, they already had their own parents. He settled down, trying to relieve himself of his feelings. He almost got his sleep, but finally after a long time he was able to sleep. The night passed quickly, and as usual he got up early. Wiping his face, not noticing anything else around him.
Out of nowhere he felt someone moving something in his hut. Turning his eyes slowly, he saw a spider looking in the basket where the toys were. Then he saw y/n sitting down, she was playing with one of the wooden ikran. He couldn't believe it, what was going on? Why were the kids here so early in the morning? "Norm said he'll bring you an oxygen capsule later…so the kids can sleep in there" speaks jake…he was on the other side of the hut. Sitting on the floor. Tsu'tey is surprised, and pulls back. "What?" tsu'tey was surprised, he didn't understand what was going on. ""You're so right….I'm a bad father to Y/N"" speaks jake. Both men talk, and begin to set the record straight. Jake knew that he wasn't the best thing for Y/N, and that he neglected her too much.
He had talked to neytiri at night, she talked to him. That it was best for Y/N to be with tsu'tey. Jake had been thinking about it all night, it was the best thing to do. Besides, he wouldn't be far from her…besides, his daughter didn't call him father. To her, her father was the man in front of him the one who had taken care of her for the last two years. Like Y/N, Jake talked to Norm…he told him that Spider should go with Tsu'tey, that he was the best thing for these children. Jake said goodbye to both children, and walked away without looking back. Although he didn't want to admit it, it hurt him a little to admit that he was a bad father and that it was too late now.
Left alone with both children, tsu'tey sits still stunned by the situation. He could not believe it, eywa had heard his prayers. His heart wanted to burst out of his chest, he was so happy. The little girl approaches her father, and hands him the toy. She had a cute smile on her face. "You know you will stay with me…I-I will be your daddy" says tsu'tey, taking the hand of spider, who had come closer. Both children nodded their heads. "I promise I will take care of you…I promise" both children hug their new father tightly. Even though they always knew…that he was their father.
ps. Thank you for leaving your request, I know it took me a long time to reply. I have had some problems with my laptop, but I will be answering them this week little by little. But don't think I have forgotten you.

when someone insults you (child)
There are many ways to cause problems and tension, within the clan and between Navi themselves. One way would be insult someone of the clan and thinking their family and friends, will not do anything about it. Once that insult had come out of their mouths there was no, taking back what had been spoken.
Jake x Neytiri
demon blooded girl
Those words had been said toward you by an older Navi women, you had been carrying some basket when a group kids had ran into you. resulting with the kids fall to the ground and getting some scraps of their keens and arms, you and rush to help the kid up. Taking the kids to healer hut, and have the kids attend to as well. The children were okay after the tears had ended but that didn’t save you from the rage of their mothers. As they had been told and thought you had pushed their kids. They had started scolding your outside of the hut, one od them hissed at you tried to grab you arm, soon throwing the insult at gained everyone near by attention.
women “ you demon blood child you have cause not only my kid pain but all these other kids pain” the women soon had came at you with her blade making you doge her and soon, fall down into ground.
Y/n “ please stop and hear me out there a misunderstanding” the women was looking down at you as she was standing tall, but she was not standing tall for that much longer until someone had attacked her.
neytiri “ don’t you dare lay hands on my daughter” neytiri had come right away soon kicking the women away from her child.
???? “ sister” you had been helped onto your feet by Loak and spider, as neteyam had stood between you and the other women.
Kiri “ you are bleeding”
neytiri “ you dare make my child bleed I will make you pay” before neytiri could do anything else Tsu’tey and Jake had stopped her.
Jake " neytiri no justice will be handed out in another way"
moat “ my granddaughter what has happened”
y/n “ there was accident with some kids and I took them here to get healed … ahhh”
Kiri “ grandma her injury”
moat “ come inside I will attend to you” you and kiro followed moat, as the rest of your siblings stood outside waiting. It easy to hear neytiri voice as she yelled at the group, as Jake tried his best to make sure she didn’t do anything else. Your grandmother and norm had been able to heal you up after the incident. They are mad as well and so are your siblings, the mother had been sent to their homes and away from you and everyone else.
neytiri " daughter are you okay"
y/n " I'm fine mom the cut will go away in days"
neytiri " how dare that women lay a hand on you if I was not for your father, and uncle I will taught her a good lessons"
neytiri " I will make them pay for what they have done to you my daughter"
y/n " mother please no we don't need anymore trouble"
Jake " sweetie I and your mother will handled this but you can share you side, of what has happened"
y/n " yes father"
Jake " good and your are not in trouble some witness had told us what happened, but we wish to hear from you as well"
y/n " yes father"you had nodded your head and told them everything, this had made your mom even more mad. As the women and her friends had no good reason to fight you a child and insult you as well. The mothers had been forbidden by your father and mother forming coming near you, for a very long time. They had been in major trouble with your family and the clan, for what had happened today. Their husband had came by your home with offers for forgives and to repay you as well, they had been checked careful by your mom and grandmother. You had forgave the husband and kids but stay away from their mothers for some time.
Jake x neytiri x Tsu’tey
Demon spawn
The day had started off normal for you as you had been doing your task, for the day as you had done every other day. It seems like your day was not going to stay normal. As you had been doing some fishing for your family and grandmother, by the river when some tension had came around. As you are about to hit a fish when you spotted another group arrive, you had smiled and went back to fishing. The group of kids had been to close to edge of the river bank, worrying you as you had called out to them and told them to move a bit. You even help them find a good place to fish and good position to use while fishing, and they seem to love your advice and help. You had been able to caught some big fish and started walking home, you had been that far from home when someone shoved you to the ground.
y/n " hey"
Navi teen boy " don't your dare speak to my brother and his friends like that demon spawn' You had got up not wish for a fight right now and tried to collect your fishes, when the boy had shoved you again onto the ground as the other kids came.
navi teen boy 2 " you heard what you told me demon how dare you tell them what do to do"
y/n " I was helping them that all and making sure they didn't get hurt, and making sure they were able to bring some fish back as well"
navi teen boy 3 " you are a freak and have no right to tell us how to live and do anything, and you dare lay your demon hands on my brother"
y/n " leave me alone so let walking away or this will become a bigger problem"
navi teen boy " we will never obey the words of demon girl that ...." the boy had been punched in the face by no one other then, lo'ak who was mad right now.
lo'ak " hands off my sister" the second boy had been kicked by someone who was spider.
spider " hands off of her"
????? " y/n" neteyam had been seen as he soon helped you stand he was mad as well.
navi boy teen " " the demo. Spawn started it first"
lo'ak " don't your dare call her at and or speak to her like that"
navi boy teen " demon spawn" A fight soon broke out between the boys.
???? ' enough " your dads had shown up with the other kids fathers breaking up the fight.
neytiri " what the matter here"
lo'ak " this boy was looking over my sister as she was laying on the ground, as him and his friends yelled at her fathers"
Tsu’tey " what"
spider " they insult her and called her demon spawn" soon all eyes were on you and it easy to say that you had been shoved to ground.
Neytiri " you dare lay a hand on my daughter to hurt you, you boys are shameful"
Jake " what happened y/n"
y/n " I was walking home when I was shoved to the ground, all because I help their younger siblings with their fishings"
tsu'tey " this that true"
boys " ....."
navi father " olo'eythan Tsu’tey our boys ......"
Tsu’tey " I was speaking and they will answer me"
boys " yes"
Jake " how dare you all do this over our daughter being helpful, and then you insult her as well"
neteyam " insult our sister is insult us all" the boys who were once acting like they were all that, were now not saying anything as all eyes are on them.
Jake " you boys will stay away from my daughter and my kids, after the events today until you came come up with a good apology to her" no one dare say anything else boys and their fathers had been escorted home by some of the warriors.
y/n " I'm sorry but it seems like dinner for us and grandmother is gone" your family looked at the fish they there was no saving them for later.
lo'ak " I will caught some later with the boys" you had nodded your heads as your mother had taken you and your boys to healer hut, to get checked out and soon enough home as well. Your brothers and spider had been able to caught new fishes for the family, but there was still tensions as your whole family had become mad about the insult tossed your away. They soon clam down after dinner but there was still issues here and there, the boys had stayed away from you until they came to say sorry with their siblings and your siblings there as well.
Tonowari x ronal
shameful girl
since the arrival of the sully family and their clan life in your clan and village changed, dramatically and you enjoyed it. You had made sure to be helpful for your village and the new arrivals, even learning some stuff from the humans as well. Soon become close friends with the sully kids and spider, along with the rest of the humans as well. You had given them a chance to show they are good and will be allies during the fight with the evil humans. One day you are walking to meet with your siblings and friends, when you had walked pass some of your clan members who were that happy with you.
Y/n “ good morning” you smile and look towards the group as they didn’t say anything else.
Navi women “ are you proud of yourself child” you had stopped and looked at the women.
y/n " proud of what if you don't mind me asking"
navi women 2 " proud of yourself for being friends with the family and clan, ruining your reputation and image by being with them"
y/n " I know we all have our own feelings about them and I don't blame you, but they are not like them and if you give them a chance you can see that"
navi women " you are such a shameful child and the whole clan knows that, It good you are out the tshaik and olo'eythan as you will be ruining their blood"
y/n " I'm going to leave right now before anything else is said"
navi women 2 " Such a shameful child you will ruin our clan and your family" You did nothing as you soon started walking away from them right away.
Navi teen girl " You will never be their daughter just some shameful child that will never be loved, and once I become mates with your brother you will be gone ... no more freaks and no shameful ones as well like you and them"
y/n "It will be best if you stop talking and following before anything else happens"
Navi girl 2 " you shouldn't be speaking to your future tshaik like that, it rude and you have nothing to hold over us we all know that freak"
navi girl 3 " no more freakish girl good I love that"
????? " what going on here" everyone had gotten spooked when they hear someone speaking up, they soon saw your siblings and older sully kids and spider there. none of them looked happy your sister and brothers went to you.
tsreyia " sister are you okay did they hurt you"
navi girl 3 " we will never hurt her"
rotxo " my sister was not speaking to you she was speaking to y/n"
y/n " I'm good they aeee just speaking their minds"
neteyam " they were being rude and disrespectful towards you y/n for no good reasons, and you being the olo'eythan and tshaik daughter"
lo'ak " yes they were coming from what we heard and saw"
kiri " you all are rude for being mean towards y/n"
spider " yes"
navi women " we were telling her the truth how dare she ruining your family and our clan by being friendly towards them, we were doing your parents a duty by dealing with this freak girl"
aonung " you have no right to speak to her like that"
navi women " my daughter and you are arranged I'm doing what bets for both, our family your parents will thank me"
???? " that is lie I will never thank you"attention had soon changed the parents who arrived, and ronal along with tonowari are very mad.
navi women " ronal I was ...."
ronal " don't your dare utter another word right now hoe dare you speak to my daughter like that, you are foolish women and rude as well"
navi women " I was doing what I thought was good for my daughter future"
tonowari " well now you have done something for your daughter future, my son and her are no longer promised to each other"
navi girl " no that not fair"
ronal " yes it fair you have not rights to become tshaik and have failed, to prove yourself as well as my daughter have done that perfectly"
navi women 2 " that clan will not love this"
ronal " the clan will understand what has happened now you will never go near my daughter again, after today until I deemed your worthy along with the great mother as well"
navi girl 2 " we didn't mean no harm we will telling her the truth"
Jake " you all were acting like green eye monsters .... jealousy is ugly things to have I came here to thank y/n for being helpful to my family and clan"
navi women 3 " we are sorry lease this will look bad on our families"
navi girl 3 " please"
Neytiri " it to late to be sorry you most learn from this"
ronal " now leave my husband will speak to your mates later on and we will see what happens later on. but there is no more promise of marriage"
tonowari " get them out of our sight" the mothers and daughters had been taken away. As they had been given glares by everyone else for what they had done.
tonowari " my daughter dont listen to them I love you and you make me proud"
ronal " yes your father is right my daughter"
y/n " thank you mom and baba but please don't punish their whole family"
tonowari " yes I can make that happen" you had nodded your head feeling better about everything that happened, your siblings and friends had spent the day with you making sure everything that you are good and happy. True to their word the promise between aonung and the girl had been called off, and when the mother made a scene to the whole clan the truth was revealed to everyone which made matter worst for the mothers and daughters. They had been official told to stay away from you and if they dare do anything else, there will be trouble and they were already in enough trouble with your family and clan.

You held onto your father as you flew on his ikran. You were flying to the reefs of the Metkayina. Word had reached the Omatikaya of the hunting of the Tulkun and the battle of the demon ship including the shooting of your cousin . The reef came into view and a horn was blown sending a warning out to the people below. Tsu’tey hold on you had tighten “ when we land stay close ma yawntutsyìp” you nodded, squeezing his hand that was holding you letting him know you heard him.
His ikran cireled the beach before landing . Tsu’tey climbed down from his mount helping you down. He walked forward to the forming crowd of Metkayaina, arms out showing he meant no harm. You made quick and large steps to keep up with him. The crowed broke apart letting thought two figures one male and the other female. You immediately knew that it was the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik. Tsu’tey gave the “ I see you” gesture to the Olo’eyktan. “ I see you Tonowari '' he then turned to the female and did the same thing “ I see you , Tsahik Ronal '' .
well they greeted each other. Something had caught your attention, a young Metkayaina male who had pushed his way through the crowded beach and stood a few steps away from the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik. You put two and two together and gathered this was their son. When he noticed you were looking at him, he hissed at you. You immediately stepped back frightened, knocking into your fathers leg . Tsu’tey absentmindedly grabbed onto your shoulder pulling you to stand in front of him faceing Tonowari and Ronal.
You gave the “ I see you” gesture to both of them. Tonowari greets you back but Ronal hissed at you. Your father's grip tightened. ” How dare you bring a sky demon to our shores? '' she hissed at your father. “ I did not, I brought my daughter along to come see our family” . The Tsahik went to argue but was cut off by Tonowari. “ It is decided Olo’eyktan Tsu’tey and his daughter are our guests , treat them as our brother and sister”. At the Olo’eyktan’s words the group of Metkayaina dispersed.
As they left you saw your cousins and Jake make their way towards you. You all greeted each other before Jake was telling your cousins to help with your things and to show you to the pod as he and Tsu’tey walked off. As your cousins led the way to their home you found yourself having trouble keeping up right as the walkways were not as solid . When you got to the pod you quickly placed your things down and greeted your aunt. along with Neteyam and spider who were both bangaged and seemed to have just woken up from resting. After talking with your family for a while you unpacked your things. The rest of the night went quickly. You had helped with the evening meal before everyone sat down to eat together . where everyone caught up and your cousins told you they wanted you to meet some of their friends. Before you knew it you were turning in for the night curled up in a sleep pile with your cousins just like old times.
The first morning rays of lights hit you in the face, waking you up. You slowly stretched out looking around you, seeing your family was still asleep. You slowly dislodged yourself from between your cousins and got ready for the day. You quietly made your way to cook fire and started to prepare morning meal. By the time you had placed the last leaf of food on the small table, everyone was in a different stage of waking. You made your way back to the sleeping area, waking your cousins fully so they would come eat. You all sat around eating, waiting for the adults to join you all to see what the day's plans were. Eventually everyone was at the table, you were told by Jake that your cousins would be showing you the ropes so you could keep up. After the morning meal everyone goes their own ways, your father leaving with your uncle and you leaving with your cousins.
As you followed them you noticed they were taking you to the beach where you saw 3 young Metkayaina one of them was the boy who had hissed at you. Lo’ak pulled you into his side introducing you to them. “ guys this is our cousin (Y/N) , this is Tsireya, Ao'nung and Rotxo ''. You smile and greet them by giving them the i see you gesture. the others greet you back but Ao’nung simply crosses his arms and stares at you. You quickly look down , Lo’ak started talking again” our father said to show her the ropes so we'll be here for most of the day ” he said looking at the 3 Metkayaina.
Ao'nung looked at him “ cuz I'm thinking you're forgetting you're supposed to be going with the hunting party today” he told Lo’ak. Lo’ak grabbed at his breads huffing looking torn between fooling his father orders and wanting to go hunting. You cut in before he could even answer “ it’s ok Lo’ak I can just hang back with Tuk and i’m sure i’ll pick up a few thing. He looks at you with some relief. He and the 2 Metkayaina males take off leaving you with the girls.
Tsireya clapped her hands together, getting all of you’s attention, “ good now we can get straight to lessons,” she said, looking at you. You simply nodded having no idea what she was talking about but you’d go along with anything not wanting any shame on your family. She started to walk off, you followed her towards a cluster of rocks where the 4 of you sat. She started teaching how to breathe so that you could swim and stay under the water for long spans of time. Eventually Tuk got bored and went off to collect shells Kiri followed after her. After a while Tsireya had you try what you had learned in the water. As the sky got dark Eventually everyone came to meet at the rocks and your cousins headed back to their pod, following afterthem.
As the eclipse began you all gathered together for evening meal. you sat quietly eating your meal as everyone around you talked. Tsu’tey noticed how quiet you were being and learned down close to you gently speaking to you. “ what's wrong ma’ite” he asked you placing his hand on your back. “ I’m fine sempu just tired” you mumbled to him. You rushed to finish your food you just watching as everyone kept eating you had started to drift off with sleep, Tus’tey seeing this gently pulled you to his side letting you rest against him. You moved as close as possible enjoying your fathers warm as you were still cold from the water. The next thing you remember was waking up from hearing something outside. You came to realize you must have fallen asleep during dinner since it was pitch black outside the pod and you were tucked between Neteyam and tuk. You slightly stretched, pulling your blanket up to your chin and going back to sleep with the others.
When morning light hit the pod you once again woke up, had morning meal and headed off with your cousins to your lessons once again.
For the next 2 weeks this was your routine waking, eating, lesson eating again and going to sleep. In that time you had become fast friends with Tsireya. You both bonded over healing as you were both studying under the Tsahik of your clans. The only one that seemed to have a problem with you still was Ao'nung anywhere you went and he was around you could feel his eyes burning a hole in you and each time you ignored it. You were currently sitting on the beach with Tsireya helping her make different salves for the Tsahik. And once again you could feel Ao'nung watching you.
Ao'nung watched you as you helped his sister. He was in the water with the sully boys just messing around on their ilu. Lo’ak road up beside him “ you know if you went up to her and talked to her she'd probably like you back “ Lo’ak teased him. He quickly turned to look at him hissing at him.” i’d never be interested in a vrrtep” Lo’aks joking matter stopped and immediately hissed back at Ao'nung” watch it fish lips for ill beat you again thats my tsmuke and nobody calls her that. Ao'nung rolled his eyes “ I Thought you said she was your cousin” he answer Lo’ak. “ same difference “ Lo’ak answered and swam off with his ilu. Ao'nung decd to go deep fishing by himself not wanting to deal with this any longer.
Looking back on that now was a dumb idea as he had gotten his legs stuck and had a large and deep cut on his leg. making it hard for him to even get off his ilu never mind even walk to the shore. You had been on the beach watching tuk play with other children when you notice Ao'nung and the dark red water around him the more he moved . you had immediately shot up going into the water to help him to shore. Sitting him on the sand . you quickly saw what was wrong. You called out to tuk to keep watch on him running to the family pod grabbing your healing bag since it was closer than the Tsahik healing pod. As you darted in and then right back out both scaring and leaving the adults confused. You came back to Ao'nung working quickly to wash and clean the open wound adding a salve to numb it before wrapping it in some leaf bandages. This whole time Aonang Watched you with wide eyes, shocked at how you just shot up, not taking a second guess to help him. When you had finished you looked up at him getting worried as he was just watching you with wide eyes not saying a single word.” Tuk!, go get your sempu quickly, we need to get him to the Tsahik and I can't carry him”. She rushed off to get jake who came quickly and took him to the Tsahik healing pod.
By the time Ao'nung had come to and realized that you had helped him he was non longer in the sand but sitting in his mothers healing pod well she fused over him. He told her that he was fine that you had already helped him. For the next 3 days he didn’t get even a clumps of you until the fourth day you had come to bring some supplies for his mother. Who he had been stuck with for the past 3 days. helping her in the healing pod as he could not put any weight on his injured leg. You greet both the Tsahik and Ao'nung with the Isee you gesture before placing the basket next to the Tsahik. She in turn greets you “ ah thank you sweet child, are you busy right now? '' Ronal aske you . you shook your head no '' perfect I need to deliver a few thing around the village, but will not have enough time to do so and return in time to change Ao'nung bandages can you stay and do that for me?” you nodded gently, “ of course Tsahik '' she gave you a small smile, taking her things and leaving the pod. Leaving you and Ao'nung alone in the pod. After a few awkward moments you decided to be useful and started separating the basket of plants you had brought in. After a while Ao'nung finally spoke “ why “ asked you. You turned to him unsure what to answer him. He spoke again, this time louser “ why ?... Why help me? ''.
You opened your mouth to speak but closed it till you could gather your word. “ why wouldn't I? Your friends with my family, i’m friends with your sister “ you trill off. “ Actually forget that even if we did not have that connection why wouldn’t I help another Na’vi, if i had gone to get the Tsahik or made you get there on your own you could have easily made your wound worse and possibly bleed out” you finished you small rant before turning to keep sorting. It was quiet for a while before he asked you another question” were you really born here?”. You sighed softly before stopping what you were doing and went to sit beside him. “ Yes, I was born here just like the other human boy. I've also been raised in the Omatikaya clan my whole life by Tsu’tey since I was a few weeks old” you tell him before he can even ask you more. Ao'nung rubbed the back of his neck nervously “ thank you for helping me …” he trailed off again. You nodded gently before he asked you something that shocked you a bit “ could we start over again?” he asked you, looking into your eyes. You just looked at him wide eyed for a moment before swallowing harshly and nodding “ y-yes we can”. He smiled back at you “ I see you (Y/N)” he made the gesture as well and you returned it '' I see you Ao'nung”.
Over the next few weeks you got to know each other then started the gifts between you. Ao'nung was the one that had started by giving you some shells to bread into your hair.which Tsireya helped you put them in before you left to get ready for the feast. Tonight was the feast celebrating the battle won against the demon ship now that all the warriors were healed and the time for mourning was over.
As you walked into the family pod nobody had noticed your new hair style until Tuk loudly spoke about it. “ (Y/N)! You look so pretty with the shells Ao'nung got you!” you turned bright red and quickly looked down. your whole family had different reactions the boys weren’t to happy knowing what it meant because they were there when Ao'nung collected the shells, well kiri was trying to hold her laughs in because of her brothers reaction well your Neytiri simply smiled at you well Jake and Tsu'tey looked like deer cot in the headlights. “ i’m … just gonna get my clothes and help Tsireya set up the feast ….. “ you quickly got your clothes and ran back out yelling out a quick “ bye “ as you left.
Later that night at the feast. Both of your families were sat around a fire eating together when you brought over a bowl of Ao'nung favorite fruit for him handing it to him as you sat next to him. He blushes at this, making both Neytiri and Ronal coo at what they saw. This continues on for a while giving each other small gifts or simple gestures of bring each other food, and maybe a bit of showing off on Ao'nung part when he catches a partly large animal showing it to you proudly. Ao'nung had finally built up the courage to present you with a courting gift ( the necklace in the title)

I know it might be a little weird, but could you make a headcanon of what it would be like to have Tsu'tey as a father being a girl (like daddy's little princess, he's heart is softened by his daughter and his partner) and Trudy as a mother (she being a scientist and having an avatar like Grace instead of a military woman and fell in love with Tsu'tey like Jake for Neytiri) please? I don't know why but I think they would be such an amazing couple with a super cute dynamic and even better parents, Trudy is too good to be just a military woman.
Thanks so much and plis never stop writing, you are too talented for this 🥰💕
NOT ALOT, JUST FOREVER
pairing(s): tsuʼtey x fem!daughter! reader + trudy x fem!daughter! reader
summary: being tsu’tey and trudy’s daughter means living between two completely different worlds, and you wouldn't have it any other way.
author's note: beyond thrilled for this request!! it's not weird at all i think it's super creative and overall a really lovely request! i only hope i did the whole “trudy as a scientist and not an aviator” concept justice ദ്ദി ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ ).
TSU’TEY IS A WARRIOR. a warrior of few words and fewer indulgences. yet somehow, your existence has shifted the soil beneath his feet. he doesn't understand it—the way a creature so small can root him in ways no battlefield ever did, how his spirit trembles more at the sight of your scraped knee than it ever did facing his fiercest enemies. the jungle's dangers are tangible, something he can see and fight. but this? the vulnerability that sneaks up on him every time you reach for his hand? that is an enemy he never learned to face.
HE NEVER SAYS IT ALOUD, but you are his soft spot, his ache in the quiet moments. he lingers at the edge of your games, arms crossed and posture deceptively indifferent. only his fingers betray him, twitching whenever you teeter, always ready to reach out. he remembers the first time he held you—skin still flushed with warmth from your mother’s womb—and thought, how could something so small hold such power over him?
TRUDY NOTICES IT TOO. she watches, amused, as he paces along the clearing’s edge while you struggle with a flower crown, petals and stems slipping through your fingers. he catches her smirk and glares, but the edge dulls the moment you call, “daddy, help me!” his pride dissolves as he kneels, calloused hands surprisingly gentle as he threads the flowers, each petal treated like something precious, as if winning this small battle for you means everything.
HE’S NEVER LEARNED HOW TO SAY NO TO YOU. no one really believes it. tsu’tey, head warrior, with a daughter who can wrap him around her finger. it's almost comical. warriors have seen you perched on his shoulders, his hands steadying your ankles with fierce attention, as if the entire jungle’s weight depends on your safety. when the hunters tease him, it's always in whispers, for none would be foolish enough to say it to his face.
TRUDY ENCOURAGES THE MESS. she lets you dig through the dirt, muddying your fingers as you paint the bark of a tree. she’ll ruffle your hair with dusty hands, or press her nose against yours and whisper stories about the sky people, but never in a way that makes you afraid of them. she’ll hold some odd gadget in her lap, her fingers nimble and focused, but she always makes room for you, explaining her tinkering in a strange blend of science and dreams.
TSU’TEY DOESN’T UNDERSTAND IT, this fixation you and trudy have with the stars, tracing shapes and murmuring about worlds and distances that stretch too far to see. it feels impractical, frivolous, yet he cannot tear his gaze from your face, lit up by wonder. he doesn’t understand the science, no, but he understands that quiet, wide-eyed look of awe you wear when you turn toward the night sky.
SOMETIMES YOU CATCH THEM BEING WEIRD, your parents, in moments they don’t think you’re watching. trudy sidles up to tsu’tey, wrapping herself around him like ivy on a tree, grounding him in a way nothing else does. you, hidden behind a tree, watch the way his usual stoic lines soften around her, watch the way she coaxes out a gentleness he barely understands. he’s the rock, unyielding, and she’s the wind, wearing him down in soft waves. it’s strange, but even at your age, you know it’s love.
YOUR MOTHER’S LAUGH IS LOUD, STARTLING. it breaks through the quiet of the forest, raw and unchecked, and when tsu’tey looks at her, it’s with a mix of exasperation and awe, a slow smile tugging at his lips, as if he’s still in disbelief that she is his.
TSU’TEY TRIES TO TEACH YOU TO HUNT, but you’re far too much like her, curiosity spinning you in every direction but the target. you tug on his arm, asking why the plants glow, why the ikran call out at dawn, and though he sighs, there’s patience in his hands as he steadies your bow. his answers are clipped, bare—“because eywa made them that way”—and you frown, dissatisfied. HE’S A WARRIOR, NOT A POET, but he tries for you, tries to see the world through the lens of wonder you wear.
YOU’VE NEVER BEEN AFRAID OF HIM, not like others are. to them, he’s a force, quiet and commanding, silencing crowds with a single look. but to you, he’s dad. the one who lifts you to pick the highest fruit, who lets you clamber onto his shoulders despite the fact that you’re nearly too big now, who calls you his “little warrior,” though anyone can see you’re a reflection of your mother.
YOU MAKE HIM LAUGH. it’s a quiet sound, almost lost between the trees, a reserved chuckle he saves just for you. it’s there in those unguarded moments, like when you drift off mid-story, cheek pressed to his chest, breathing softly in a rhythm that seems to ground him.
WHEN THE DAY ENDS, your family is wrapped in twilight colors. tsu’tey holds you close, his arms anchoring you as you drift between sleep and wakefulness. trudy hums an off-key melody from a time long past, and beneath the canopy, the sounds of pandora settle around you, your father’s heartbeat a steady drum grounding you in his embrace.
you’ve inherited her stubbornness, MUCH TO TSU’TEY’S DISMAY. once your mind is set, little can change it, and trudy often encourages you with a grin, while tsu’tey tries to hold firm, though his resolve quickly falters under your gaze. eventually, he’ll sigh, muttering that you’re “just like your mother.”
WHEN YOU’RE SICK, tsu’tey never leaves your side, discomfort tight in his chest, unused to the helplessness it brings. trudy works calmly, hands sure as she mixes medicine from plants she’s studied, but tsu’tey watches with a taut, silent worry. only when you reach out, your small hand grasping his, does he finally relax, grounding himself in the strength of your presence.
TSU’TEY DOES NOT TRUST BOYS, least of all the sully brothers. when they come around, he watches them like a hawk, shoulders tense, eyes narrowing every time they get too close to you. even when they're just playing, tossing a ball or climbing trees, tsu’tey stands at the edge of the clearing, arms crossed, every muscle on alert. neteyam is polite, respectful, but it’s lo’ak who makes tsu’tey’s jaw tighten—the boy is too reckless, too bold. he doesn’t care that they’re still young; boys grow into men, and tsu’tey has seen too much of the world to be naïve. but when you laugh, loud and carefree, chasing after them through the trees, he can’t quite bring himself to pull you away. still, his eyes never leave you, the protective weight of his gaze making sure they understand—they may play, but they’ll never cross a line.
TRUDY, OF COURSE, FINDS IT AMUSING. she’ll shake her head and laugh when she catches tsu’tey scowling from his post. “they’re just kids,” she says, tousling your hair as you sprint by, face flushed and beaming. trudy’s always been the more lenient one, the one who believes in letting you figure things out for yourself. when you ask if you can go with the sullys on one of their adventures, she’s quick to agree, despite tsu’tey’s gruff protests. “they’re good boys,” she tells him, nudging his side. but even as she says it, trudy watches you with that same quiet intensity tsu’tey has—her kind of protectiveness isn’t loud, but it’s always there, a constant force just beneath the surface.
IN THE END, YOU’VE CHANGED THEM BOTH, reshaping their edges, carving space for softness amidst the warrior’s strength and the explorer’s curiosity. in you, they find balance. and as the night settles, they hold you close, a quiet promise between them that, whatever the world brings, this—their family—is worth everything.

Tw: child birth, mentions of war, older sibling responsibility, over protective Tsu'tey, arranged marriages/mating, reader is a hothead, rivalry between reader and Neteyam.
Masterlist
After the war, every thing went back to normal, Tsu'tey had survived and the humans were sent back. As Pandora healed so did the Omaticaya. Tsu'tey had began a relationship with Saeyla. During her training he had began to fall for her, but due to being mated to Neytiri, he did not acknowledge his feelings towards her at first, but after he had found out about Neytiri and Jake's mating, he was livid at first, since a Sky Demon had basically come in and began to change clan's traditions. Now that the war was over and everything was going somewhat back to normal, Tsu'tey had began a life with his mate soon after.
When he had found out about her pregnancy, he was over the moon. He had dreamed about wanting children and those dreams had finally come true, the whole eight months he was very protective and caring to his mate. He wanted for her and his child to be okay, he was prepared for anything, he knew what to do when the time came.
When Saeyla went into labor it was hard, she was bleeding immensely and there was complications, but finally his daughter was born. Tsu'tey was relived, seen that both his mate and child were okay. Once he got a look at you, he was in tears, his daughter was the most beautiful being he had laid eyes on. He had promised to protect at all costs.
Y/n te Rongloa Tsu'tey'ite
Your dad was overprotective, very overprotective when it comes to you and your mom. For most of the months that your mom had to rest, he had no issues in taking care of you day and night, you were his only daughter. Besides that, everyone saw how loving of a father her was. Everyone had assumed that he'd have or would want to have sons, but he was so loving towards you, he was almost a complete person. That scowl that he'd have on his face would quickly change once he saw you. He'd stop everything he was doing and will tend to you, it didn't matter if what he was doing was important or not, you were his first priority. Even Saeyla saw the changes in his attitude, he was even more loving towards her and you.
Tsu'tey always made sure that you had everything that you needed. he always made sure you and your mom ate first then he'd have his share. He's spend some nights making you the most prettiest clothing you've ever seen and would find the most prettiest beads for your hair, he loved to see you smile, it made him smile. When you got older, you began to try and be like your dad, from trying to pose like him, act like him, even tried to mimic his scowl and also had tried to make your braids look like his.
Not only that, but you had tried making a warrior band like his, wouldn't really wear a top like the girls your age. Your mom would often tell you that you have to wear a top because you're a girl, you'd often tell her that you wanted to be like your dad. As a birthday gift she gave you a top that looked just like your dad's warrior choker, with the freathers, ikran claws as well as the red and orange details, you loved the top and never really took it off. Tsu'tey felt proud and also found you adorable trying to be like him, you will turn out like him if not better.
Your uncle Arvok would often comment on how he'd spoil you, but he also spoiled you like your dad. He loved you, his one and only niece. He was the one that told you all your father's embarrassing stories, which your father did not appreciate. Arvok has had a talk with your father to never put any kind of high expectations on you or put any kind of pressure, sure you might be his brother's only child, but those kind of treatments can also cause you to have issues in the future. Tsu'tey took Arvok's words to heart.
Besides being with your family, you were also around the Sully's. Mostly Neteyam since he was around your age, and also because you really liked the boy. You'd often make comments that you were going to be Neteyam's mate someday, it was harmless comments since kids tend to say things like that, but no one would of thought that the adults had other plans for the future.
When you had learned about how your father was meant to be the next leader instead of Jake, you began to dislike him for a time. You didn't think it was fair that your father who was born a true na'vi and he had been chosen by both Mo'at and Eytukan to be the next leader, his position was taken away. But your father had explained to you why his positioned was removed, which was more understandable. You went back to liking him.
Years passed, You and Neteyam were now fifteen, and you two had become rivals. Whatever Neteyam would do, you always tried to do it better. As much of friend he was of yours, you both still played this little game. At a young age you were already learning how to wield a bow and how to hunt, your father wanted for you to start early so that you could develop quicker. Since Neteyam was also learning early as well, you both would often train together with Jake and Tsu'tey. You were a carbon copy of Tsu'tey, whenever Neteyam would make a mistake, you'd always have a comment to say on why he messed up and you he could of done better. Neteyam didn't like it at first, but he began to listen to your advice, which was very helpful, a bit mean but helpful.
A thing about your father was that he stuck to tradition, he thought since you and Neteyam basically grew up together, then you'd be the perfect match for one another. When you got the news from both your parents as well as Jake and Neytiri that you and Neteyam were going to be mates, you and Neteyam had no issue in being each other's mates for the sake of the clan, you wanted to be the Olo'ekte, mainly to be the thing your father wasn't and because you wanted to be a good leader, but Neteyam was going to be Olo'ektan and you'd be the Tsahik.
You hated, you always thought that you were better at everything, you argued with your parents about the situation, but there was nothing you could do, it was decided, and you hated it. You were mad, he had never been more mad in your life until now. Eventually you got over it, if being Tsahik was what your father wanted, so be it.
Since your arrangement, you and Neteyam spent even more time together. Besides training and hunting, you'd have some kind of quality time. Such as making arrows, going for a walk around the woods, weaving baskets and other stuff. It was kind of awkward at first but you eventually got used to it. But sometimes that you and him were together, he'd bring Tuk along with you both. It was odd since it should of only been you and him, but he was bringing Tuk along. It's not that you didn't like his sister, you loved her like a younger sibling, but she also needed her parents. When you'd ask him why he'd bring his baby sister along, he'd often tell you that it was his responsibility as the older brother to watch over her. This confused you, shouldn't that be the job of the parents?
You'd constantly tell him that it wasn't his responsibility, it was his parents responsibility to watch over their kid. Neteyam would justify it by saying that he was the older brother or that you wouldn't understand since you're an only child, that may be true, but you saw right through him. You had brought it up with your dad and mom, how Jake was putting a lot of pressure on your future mate on things that should be his responsibility. Tsu'tey knew how that was like, his parents did the same to both him and Avork when they were younger, he's told you that he will have a word with Jake about Neteyam.
One time after you were done with chores, you and Neteyam were about to go off together like normal, but his father had asked to watch Tuk, before Neteyam could answer, you answered for him. You told Jake that he couldn't because you and him would be busy for the next couple hours and left while holding Neteyam's hand. You noticed how Neteyam was almost dying on the inside, but you didn't care, your future mate needed to be a kid himself. Even though he may be mature for his age, he was still a kid who was considered an adult like you. He asked you on why you did what you did, you told him that he needed a break from everyone and that he needed some time by himself, as well as with you.
Jake had told your dad how disrespectful you were, Tsu'tey was not going to let his friend say anything about you. Yes you were his child, but you were not what Jake said you were, Tsu'tey basically went off on him, telling him that he should be more of a father to his children and take more fatherly responsibilities, as well as he shouldn't be hard on a Neteyam, a literal kid, sure he may be considered an adult, but he was still a kid, a kid who was missing out on his teen years because of responsibilities that he shouldn't really have.
That night you and Neteyam stayed out way out of his curfew time, at first he was worried that he'd get into some trouble for not being home in time. You had to calm him down and told him to live a little and to not worry about his dad's rules at the moment. If Jake wanted to get onto someone's ass, he can get onto yours, if your dad allowed him.

⎯⎯ A Heartfelt Wish II
IN WHICH, you are found by Tsu’tey and taken under his care.
genre fluff, a bit angsty ngl, half human/half na’vi! fem! reader
warning(s) partially proof-read, a bit of angst (but nothing too bad), descriptions of anxiety
Part 2 of “A Heartfelt Wish”, sorry it took so long, I had finals. The ending is a bit rushed, because I didn't want to make y’all wait too long. There will definitely be more parts and thank you for all the love and support! I hope you enjoy! <3
Dismounting from his Pali, the tall Na’vi walks through the sea of people as his grip tightens around the small child wrapped in his arms. He adjusts the cloth–hiding the child from prying eyes, hoping to avoid the spread of gossip before he can explain the situation to the Olo'eyktan of the Omatikaya.
His mind aches as the pressure on his heart worsens. His breath quickens as his steps become more urgent. He looks around a bit more frantically, the child in his arms beginning to fuss. Its small little cries do little to calm the warrior’s nerves; his blood pressure rises with each passing second.
“Tsu’tey?”
His breath hitches as his heart is caught in his throat. He turns around meeting the gaze of a young Na’vi woman. She looks at him worriedly, her hand resting on her belly–softly soothing the child growing inside her.
His breathing relaxes, greeting the Na’vi woman. She returns the greeting with a small smile gracing her lips. She glances at the small bundle of cloth held securely in his arms. She looks at him, eyebrows raised slightly at the peculiar sound coming from it.
He sighs deeply, unwrapping the cloth from the child’s face. The woman gasps slightly at the sight of the human-like child. The child flinches at the sudden brightness, with tears in their eyes they peek at the world around them. The child’s small tantrum comes to a quick halt once their gaze lands on the pregnant Na’vi staring back at them.
They stood there silent, eyes both filled with amazement and wonder. The tall warrior Na’vi, Tsu’tey, watches quietly as he observes the interaction between the child and the pregnant woman. No one spoke a word, too absorbed in a world of their own until a small battle cry breaks through the silence.
A group of Na’vi who rode on the backs of banshees landed nearby. Those around greeted the group for a safe trip back home. One in particular received more formal greetings as he made his way towards the woman and Tsu’tey.
The woman smiled happily, greeting the man with a hug, “Welcome home, ma Jake.”
The man, Jake–the Olo'eyktan of the Omatikaya, returned the greeting with a kiss, “Happy to be home, ma Neytiri.”
Tsu’tey greets Jake with a small smile, his stress still evident on his features. Before Jake could question him, he catches a glimpse of the child staring at him intently. Jake takes a step back, looks at Tsu’tey, the child, back at Tsu’tey, before giving the same look to his mate, Neytiri, who looks back at him with the same look in return. There is a pregnant pause as everyone stands in silence, questions hanging heavy in the air, but with no clear direction on where to begin.
Placing a hand on his hip, Jake scratches the back of his neck before motioning toward the direction of his hut, “It probably best if we don’t talk about this out here.”
Nodding, Tsu’tey and Neytiri follow Jake to a more quiet place.
-
They all stood huddled around the child, quietly observing. They noticed that although the child overall held the appearance of a human, they also showed signs indicating that Na’vi blood runs through their veins. Small white dots mimicking scattered constellations danced across their skin, strips just a shade darker than their natural skin tone were painted across their body like the na’vi, their ears slightly pointed, and a tail that swung happily at the sight of them.
“So, you came across a woman being attacked by the sky people’s forces, but were unable to save her from the crossfire. As her last dying wish, she asked you to protect this child,” Jake recapped, smiling softly as he took the child into his arms, “and you also saw a sign from Eywa?”
“Yes,” Tsu’tey answered quietly, glancing at the child before meeting Jake’s gaze.
There was a strong hint of sadness hidden deep within Tsu’tey’s eyes that did not go unnoticed by Neytiri. Her gaze softens as she recalls the events of Tsu’tey’s report, her heart breaking for the child’s fallen mother. Turning her attention towards the child who was intrigued by Jake's appearance. She smiles, reaching out towards the child, caressing their cheek lightly; the small action gaining the child’s attention in return.
The child laughs lightly, wrapping their small hand around her finger. Neytiri’s heart warms at the sound, her emotions slowly getting the better of her as she reaches to take the child into her own arms. She slowly brings her other hand to cup the baby’s face, brushing her thumb against the soft skin of the baby’s cheek.
Jake is quietly taken aback as his mate becomes enamored with the child, almost disinterested in the world around them. He calls out to her quietly, his voice barely above a whisper as fearing he might scare her off.
Neytiri awakes from her trance looking back at Jake before glancing at Tsu’tey. She clears her throat as she turns her attention back to the problem at hand. She gives one more quick look at the child before hesitantly opening her mouth to speak.
“Her–Her mother…” Neytiri trails off, her brows furrowed as she seems to struggle to find the right words to say–not wanting to worsen the warrior’s heartache, “was she…”
Her words fall silent as she meets his brief gaze; his eyes cast downwards the moment they meet hers. His silence is enough to answer her question, the air growing thicker at the change in mood. Jake looks between the two Na’vi, although saying nothing–he appears to understand the same as Neytiri.
Quick to change the topic, Jake turns his attention back to the child before looking at Tsu’tey, “Well, in honor of her mother’s dying wish, you are to raise her as your own.”
Tsu’tey looks at Jake shocked, before looking at Neytiri who looks just as shocked at the tall Na’vi. They both look back at Jake as if he had grown two heads. Neytiri grips Jakes tightly by his arms earning a slight wince from the Olo'eyktan. Turning their backs to the Na’vi warrior–who still stood dumbfounded at the earlier statement–Neytiri dragged him to a farther corner within the hut.
“You wish to put the care of a child in the hands of a Na’vi who has such little experience with one to begin with–especially a baby!” Neytiri loudly hissed in a tone that was well-meant to be below a whisper.
“Her mother’s dying wish was for Tsu’tey to protect her child,” The Olo'eyktan explained, trying to calm his fuming wife, “you know better than I that she would want nothing more than this child to be raised and loved by him.”
Neytiri’s harsh gaze falters at her mate’s words. She loosens her grip around his arms as her gaze slowly drifts to the floor. A sadness creeps over her as she spares on final glance at the baby held in her husband’s arms. Neytiri meets Jake’s gaze on last time before stepping aside, her silence being an acknowledgement to his words.
He pulls her close, giving her a quick kiss on her temple before approaching Tsu’tey. The warrior, who had been silently watching the brief argument between the two, stood dumbfounded. He looked at Jake and then the child in his arms, before taking a step back. Slowly shaking his head as the thoughts of taking care of a child he wasn’t prepared for plagued his mind. The anxiety squeezed tightly around his throat as his heart was beating loudly in his chest.
“No… No, no, no–I can’t…” His words felt like acid on his tongue as he struggled to choke back the sobs trying to climb up his throat; the events of the day catching up to him as tears threaten to escape from his eyes, “I–¨
Shocked by Tsu’tey’s crumpling state, Jake brings his hand to his shoulder hoping to calm him a bit before the panic starts to spread. Neytiri, hearing Tsu’tey broken voice, quickly approaches the two, placing her hand on the warrior’s arm. Golden eyes full of uneasiness at the sight of his crippling anxiety chipping away at his–otherwise–confident, strong nature.
The two Na’vi share a look before turning their attention back to Tsu’tey. They comfort the warrior, assuring him that he has the help of both the Olo'eyktan and Tsahìk to help him in raising this child.
Their words of comfort seem to temporarily calm his anxiety as he takes the child into his arms. He stares at the child, gaze full of uncertainty.
“Tsu’tey,” Neytiri calls out to him, her voice barely above a whisper; he meets her tender gaze with eyes still full of tears, “By what name are you going to call this child?”
He pauses for a moment, his mind playing through records of memories before recalling a name he heard so long ago.
“(Y/n).”

EVERY CORNER OF THIS HOUSE IS HAUNTED. (2)
(wc: 5264)
You swung your legs over the edge, feet ghosting just above the calm lake that surrounded this part of the forest. It was a bit far from the village, but you felt more at ease knowing that you wouldn’t be found easily. This was your own place and ironically enough, a spot you and Jake had found years ago. You could see the familiar marks left from the arrows you had shot, deeply engraved in some of the trunks.
One drawing had caught your eye. From one of the trees, a bit taller than the rest; an image of you and your father. It was silly, clearly etched by the hands of a kid no older than six. The lines were harsh as the wood itself was tough, but it was there– almost mockingly. You scoffed, mindlessly grabbing a pebble and flinging it right on the center.
You have barely moved since you arrived here; detached yourself the moment you had sat near the jagged rocks. It was a habit you presumed you got from Jake. The longer you stayed, the more you succumbed to your ever-bleeding wounds– there was just something so tragic about being an eldest daughter.
You weren’t all bite, despite the constant snarl on your lips. You weren't so egotistical as to think that you couldn't possibly be wrong, but tonight, tonight you knew damn well Jake was to blame.
‘Is it because I’m not your daughter?’
Your own voice had rang through your mind. You wince in response, cringing internally. That could very well be the case– you weren't part of their family. You can’t help but think that they may have done it out of pity.
But Kiri wasn’t exactly their own either. In fact, you and Kiri weren’t at all opposites at birth.
While you came from Tsu’tey, she was from Grace; both of you from separate blood and brought together by one. However you weren’t exactly close to Eywa or have the skills she possessed. Kiri was undeniably special– spiritual and awfully attuned. Heck, she had managed to tame her own ikran simply by asking it to be her friend.
Still, there was no reason for Jake to treat you differently. You were jealous– of course you are. If he’s able to be as gentle as he is with your baby sister, why couldn’t he with you? It was a sickening thought, to think that he acts so rigid and unrelenting around you while he looked at her like she had hanged every star in the night sky. Sure Kiri was special, but you were at least his daughter too. Can’t he spare you even just a second of a loving glance?
With Kiri, he listens intently– looks at her with such tenderness as he takes in her every word. It was the same gaze he wore whenever we visited the sky-people lab; Jake would stare a bit too long at Grace, expression somewhere along the line of reminiscing. Whenever he had moments like these, his eyes would hold some sort of longing– a promise. Perhaps it was because Grace meant the world to him– literally. She taught him everything about Pandora, showed him the way of the Na’vi; gave him another shot at living.
Kiri was exactly like her mother; wise and cunning. Jake probably sees Grace in her very image.
You’d think this would be the embodiment of every father with their daughters; kind and vulnerable, but you would argue otherwise. When he looked at you, it was more of regret– grief prolonging. It was a gaze so ugly and unwanted; a weight you’re not supposed to carry.
Because you’re exactly like Tsu’tey and Jake sees him in yourself.
It was no secret that Jake was softer when it came to Tuk and Kiri. While you are relieved that it had been that way, you can never pray for them to experience the struggles you are burdened with– it tugged on your heartstrings that you would never feel the warmer side of your father; will never know how it feels to be babied nor to be held gently.
You were her daughter too so you didn’t understand. What made you any different from them that you had to pretend his love was hidden beneath his icy glares and dismissive grunts? These were emotions nonetheless– however odd or minuscule they may have been. You thought that maybe, just maybe, there’d be a crack to this exterior. Maybe if you tried harder, Jake would soften up to you too.
But that wasn’t the case because he never did. You had picked apart pieces of yourself that you thought weren’t pleasing– did better despite your age. You were young and only yearned for your father’s approval.
( “You’re not doing it right. Again.”
As you stretched your already sore arms for the nth time, ready to take aim, his hands tug on your stance– a bit harsher than intended. Light continued to glare down on your figure as you tirelessly corrected your posture again. Your ears pricked up at the sound of your sibling’s laughter, coming to you from afar. You stole a glance at them as they continued to play and enjoy themselves by the water, their childish exuberance highlighted by their splashing around in the shallow waves.
“Can’t I take a break?” You whined, dropping your stiff shoulders. Hearing them have fun made you want to jump in as well.
“I didn’t let you talk my ear off just to give up. Come on, you promised me a bullseye today, baby girl.” He said, eyebrows furrowing a bit. You look down to your feet, a bit embarrassed. You didn’t want him to not take you seriously– you fear that if you let him down now, he wouldn’t let you do anything again. “Just one hit and I’ll let you off–”
His head turns sharply towards Kiri as she calls out for Jake, asking him to join them in their game. He can't help but to let out a small chuckle as he yells back a short response of ‘in a minute.’
“Again, come on.” His hands move quickly and firmly grasp your arms, helping you back to the same position before. “I’ll be watching, promise.” With a light tap on your shoulder, he rushes off, chasing after your siblings towards the water.
The quicker you got it done, the sooner you would be able to play. You pulled on the string again and released a heavy sigh before releasing the arrow. After several tries of firing shots that missed their mark, you finally managed to hit dead center with one shot. Your eyes widen in surprise, disbelief crossing your face before you jump excitedly, “Did you see that, dad? Did you–”
Your yell was instantly drowned out by Lo'ak's hearty laugh. You couldn't help but feel deflated as you watched your father lift him up onto his shoulders while the others trailed behind them in a fit of giggles. You run towards them, bow in hand.
“You weren’t watching–” You tried to pull his hand in your direction, gesturing towards the arrow that was still firmly embedded into the red ring you had created on the trunk of the tree.
"Ah, darn, I missed it?" He said between breathy chuckles as Kiri tried to tug on his tail from behind, barely taking note of your work. "Why don't you do it again? This time I'll be sure to pay attention."
“But I want to play with you now.”
“Dad– Neteyam caught something! It’s huge, come look!” Jake slowly lowers Lo'ak from his shoulders, letting them pull him towards where Neteyam stood. The children squealed at the sight of the fish (with Kiri letting out a few disgusted gags), but Jake reveled in pride. “Yeah, Neteyam, the mighty fisherman!”
You stayed still on the shore watching them– watching him. It was so easy to lose your father’s attention despite your best efforts. You retreated back to your spot, eyes glaring at the arrow sticking out from the tree. If a single bullseye wasn’t enough to impress Jake, then you’d just have to perfect your aim. Your hits will never miss again and you’ll make him proud.)
You were clueless. If only you knew that there was no satisfying your father, you would’ve spent the days tirelessly training to play instead– to be an actual kid without having the worries of a grown adult.
You could leave. At the thought of it, your head swiveled towards the unfamiliar path that would take you away from the clan– away from everything you know. You could leave and never come back; take your father’s name and build your own person. There was this selfish thought pricking at the back of your brain that once they noticed your absence, everyone would look for you and even feel sorry for what they put you through; that Jake would be sorry to lose you.
You wonder what kind of reputation you'd leave for him when everyone realizes you had run away, never to come back. But it was unfair– your mother would be devastated. Neytiri had already gone through enough, were you worth another heartbreak? She didn’t deserve that.
Suppose you could only dream that Jake would put on an effort for a search party– for him to grow hopeless and regretful while searching for you. You could only dream that he’d run towards you, arms wide open. “You scared me, sweetheart. I thought I lost you. I’m sorry, dad’s sorry.”
But you’ve been away for hours and no one has reached out yet. They probably assumed that you only needed some time and space to clear your head, not seeing any cause for alarm. The only thing that waited for you back home was a hell of a scolding and a week’s punishment of tending the ikrans. Sighing, you decided to just head back.
Your steps are careful– silent, as you near your hut again. You expected for the worst. Neytiri could have told Jake to stay guard outside until you finally decided to come home for all you know, but you weren’t ready for another heated conversation with him just yet. So as you make your way back, you stick your neck out behind the bushes, trying to make out of the surroundings.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t Jake that was waiting outside. It was Kiri. Her figure glows underneath the starry night and it was hard not to be discouraged, but you suppose it was better than having to deal with your father again.
"Kiri?" You called out in a low voice, and instantly her head snapped up. She quickly jumps to her feet upon seeing your arrival, heart racing as she rushes towards you. Without hesitation, she wraps her arms tightly around you in a hug. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to try and steady herself. “Oh great mother, thank you.”
You tentatively put your arms around her in response, hands patting the top of her head. “This isn’t the first time I ran from home,” Your voice is soft– unsure.
Feeling your hesitance, she slowly withdraws from you. “But it’s the first time sempul has said something so..” She stops herself mid-sentence, shaking her head as if to clear away her thoughts. “I worry you’d finally want to leave.”
You stared at her, feeling your insides soften. You could never get angry at Kiri, no matter the situation. You couldn’t just leave. She was your sister still and no one would ever understand you like she does. No one will ever grow you another sibling. As much as you hated yourself, you were meant to watch as she thrives.
Siblings were such a weird concept; it was hard for you to wrap your head around it. Despite the fact that you could hate them with every fibre of your being, you’d still love them unconditionally and protectively; despise them but burn down the whole universe for their safety. It made no sense to be so full of such strong, conflicting emotions all at once, but she was your sister and that was enough explanation.
“Stupid eywa-powers.” You joke as you take your index finger, lightly pressing it against her forehead. She playfully swats your hand away with a laugh, eyes crinkling.
She silently murmurs, “Not stupid” to herself, a small laugh escaping her lips.
You two slowly sat on your wicker chairs in front of the fire. The seat creaked as you made yourself comfortable. Jake was real handy with his hands back then– made all sorts of things for everyone. Wooden Toruks, comfortable hammocks, and each one a special chair. Everyone’s name was etched on the back and although it was a bit smaller now, considering it was made for when you were toddlers, no one had grown out of sitting on it.
You smiled at the memory. It was like tradition for the Sully family– a silly one, but loved nonetheless. He first made you the wicker chair and although it was rather flimsy, you argued that Neteyam should have one as well when he came around.
It was so conflicting– to be able to remember your father was mean, despite being kind, then to know him as kind, despite being mean. You fear Jake could be every word you think of but the word father.
“Remember that time when we played hide-and-seek and we all thought Lo’ak cheated by hiding back at home only to find out we left him at the forest?” Kiri spoke, eyes fixated at the flames.
You chuckled, “Yeah, even dad was in on it– told us not to tell mom that we left him.”
“Oh– and that one time they left us to Mo’at to have their little dates and came home to see grandma knocked out and her hut a mess?”
You laughed, rather loudly this time. You remembered the memory like it was yesterday– little Neteyam wrapped from head to toe in bandages as you two tried to play healers; pastes and herbs were scattered everywhere while Lo’ak was playing to his own devices happily (something about kid Lo’ak and wanting to play alone most of the time). “Lo’ak and his lisp trying to explain why he was covered in warrior paint all over his body.”
“Ki-ti told me to do it!” Kiri squeaked out in her best impression of Lo’ak, before both of you burst into smothered laughter— careful not to wake anyone up. After taking a few moments to catch your breath, the area was silent once more. There was no sound other than the crackle of the fire, its flame illuminating the darkness in the vicinity.
“I’m trying to see the situation in both perspectives,” She starts once the quietness grows unbearable. You averted your gaze, not wanting to talk it out with her.
“I really don’t wanna talk about it, Kiri.” You threw your head back, your eyes burning a hole into the night sky.
“I just don’t want it to explode like what happened a while ago again.”
You kiss your teeth and let out an exasperated sigh, tongue clicking as you exhale. Deep down you knew that there was no getting out of this situation, so you may as well hear what they had to say. “Fine. What’s your diagnosis, doc?”
The flap of the hut's entrance is suddenly thrown back, revealing a rather disoriented looking Lo'ak stumbling out. It's clear he had just been stirred from his slumber. “You two aren’t as quiet as you think you are.” He said, his voice low. He made his way over to Kiri and sat down beside her with an audible yawn. “What is it this time?”
“Eywa tells me of your troubles,” Kiri starts, ignoring Lo’ak. “Father isn’t at all the greatest, I know, but he’s trying– His choices aren't really the best, but it’s what he knows. If you think about it, he was just as young once and you don’t exactly become a father twice.”
“What are you saying?”
“She’s saying– cut him some slack, maybe?” Lo'ak breaks the stillness with an unexpected remark, his voice quite loud in comparison to Kiri's careful words. His comment catches you off guard and you shift your position uncomfortably on your seat.
“Brother, you really have to stop going out with Spider. You and your lingo is getting harder and harder to discern.” Kiri jabs him from the side, “What he means to say is– maybe you should try being the bigger person instead?”
You let out a deep breath through your nostrils, not enjoying the direction of the conversation. Your brow crinkles in concentration as you try to make sense of why the discussion was taking this turn. You had no desire to pick apart the problem any further and yet, here you were– perhaps Neytiri told them to talk some sense to you? To quiet down for the sake of your old man?
Already sensing your anger, Lo’ak quickly interjects again. “Listen, It’s like,” He turns to you, the grogginess in his expression fading away and being replaced by something more serious. “If dad happens to reprimand us, we save our excuses or any reason we have. The response he wants is an apology and an apology is what you’re going to say– that’s it.”
“But that’s unfair.” You let out a groan, lips turning into a deep frown. “Especially to you and Neteyam.”
Lo’ak only lets out a playful scoff, as if he’s trying to lighten the mood. “You mean, especially to Neteyam. Bro’s an automated machine– expect him to immediately take the blame.” He says, grinning. “I think dad is just.. cracking the code still? Shit, I don’t know. He had to learn to live on two different stars. It must be hard on him.”
“Doesn’t it hurt you? Trying to understand someone older?”
Lo’ak stills for a minute as heavy silence envelopes everyone. “Of course it does. It stings a lot sis– but I think, no parent deserves a resentful son when all they wanted was for me to be better.”
Then it crashes down upon you like a heavy sack filled with rocks, a realization pressing directly against your chest as you watch Lo’ak’s face, illuminated against the flicker of the flames– the lights cast an image you failed to recognize before. Your brothers weren’t exactly immune to Jake’s ways either. He was equally as tough on them.
Maybe you can try for their sake. Maybe you should take the initiative instead of waiting for your father’s open arms.
“Why don’t you join us tomorrow instead? Take your mind off things. We’re visiting the old shack with Spider,” Lo'ak's hand carefully reaches for your hair, the tips of his fingers ruffling through your braids– a gesture he picked up after Neteyam. You chuckle, suddenly slightly embarrassed.
“Isn’t it dangerous?” You ask, eyebrows furrowed.
“It is,” Kiri answers for Lo’ak, giving him a pointed glare. “Tuk heard about it and is begging to come along.”
“More like blackmailed me– I’ll tell mom if you won’t let me come.” He put on a mocking impression of Tuk, sticking his tongue out in an exaggerated way. Kiri gave him another jab, causing him to hiss in response. “But it should be safe.”
Kiri rolls her eyes. “We are so getting into trouble.”
“You guys go,” You say, back resting against the chair again. “Think I should fix the situation with dad first before getting in trouble again.”
You feel Kiri’s eyes on you– gaze emitting a sense of gratitude, almost like a tangible thank you for trying. It’s funny how she’s younger than you and yet she looked out for you more than you had.
You let out a deep sigh as the three of you settled in, reveling in the quiet serenity of the woods. The soft sounds of the forest enveloped you, providing a sense of calm that was hard to miss. Slowly, it lulled you all to a familiar kind of comfort.
Breakfast was unsurprisingly silent.
You felt like the room was full of robots, their limbs jerking and movements mechanically programmed as they ate. As everyone shifted ever so slightly, it seemed almost like they were doing it robotically - stiff and slow. It was like they were walking on eggshells around you and it was hard not to roll your eyes.
It was painfully awkward– a hard watch as Jake tried hard not to make eye contact with you. Neytiri would occasionally jab him from the side and pinch the fat of his thigh. ‘Talk to her.’ – her glare would send him the message.
He lets out a sigh before visibly gulping. “Y/n.”
Your head suddenly jerks upwards from the bowl resting in your lap, startled by your father’s voice calling for you. Neytiri watches in anticipation while your heart pounded madly against your chest. Suddenly, the air fills with tension as all movement ceases. Not a single soul speaks or breathes– waiting.
“Pass the salt.” Jesus Christ.
You give him a deadpan expression, stretching your arms over to pass it to him. He carefully takes it, shaking it over his already salty meal. Neytiri could only push her hands against her face in frustration, a groan of exasperation coming from deep within. After a few minutes, she finishes up and leaves with Tuk in her arms. The rest follow suit.
“I’m off,” You finish cleaning up the table, standing up from your seat and grabbing the weapons you needed for an impromptu hunt. Without waiting for a reply, you left Jake alone on the table.
As you trekked further into the forest, you prayed to Eywa for guidance. You were careful to smear the war paint onto your cheeks and forehead– breathing labored, but focused nonetheless.
You figured, your father has been doing bad from the recent hunts– only coming home with fruits and small portions of meat, sometimes none at all. It was that kind of season where the animals were out to hide and hibernate. You didn’t know where you got the confidence that you’d be able to return with something, considering the best next best warriors could hardly do so.
You had to try regardless; you thought that perhaps it could be a way for you and Jake to open up a conversation with each other. Maybe he could soften down his glare a bit when you come home with something to eat– but as hours passed and the sun burned to noon, you were only met with disappointment.
You stopped by an unfamiliar area, leaning against a tree as you tried to catch your breath. You regret not bringing your ikran with you– just what were you thinking?
As if the great mother had noticed your desperation, a familiar sound roars from a distance. Your ears perked up as you tried to walk through the thick bushes. A lone sturmbeest, drinking by the river. You sighed in relief before hurriedly taking your bow out of your back. They mostly traveled by a herd, but today might just be your luckiest– you stretch your arms, carefully approaching the animal.
Just this once, you pleaded, be in my favor.
The journey home was dreadful. You had been carrying meat and a few bones for what seemed like hours on end, feeling the strain in your back from the task. It was a small sturmbeest– presumably female by the size, but it should be enough to provide meals for a week or so. Before you knew it, eclipse approached fast and you were eager to meet your hammock.
You couldn’t see; unable to hold any form of light as you needed both hands to carry the heavy sack, but the thought of going home with something to proudly show your father rekindled the sense of pride that was long gone; a feeling you hadn't had in a long time– burned by the countless times you’ve tried to gain even a drop of recognition.
You were successful in hunting a sturmbeest when no one couldn’t for the past weeks– your father would be proud and that was all the strength you needed to continue waking.
Noticing the familiar path back to the clan, a surge of adrenaline courses through your body from the thought of already nearing home. But as the horns blared from the village, you felt nothing but confusion– What could it mean and why this late? You quickened your pace towards them.
Ikrans flew in, landing at the open space as everyone gathered around. You squeezed your way in through the crowd– stomach churning as the sound of Tuk's cries became more and more clear with every step; but before you could run to your baby sister, you were harshly pulled back. You immediately recognize your father’s calloused hands, but this time his grip was harsh– unrelenting. Careful not to trip on your feet, you steadied yourself, head looking up to meet his glare.
“Where were you?”
And just like that, your thoughts come crashing down around you from the sight of your father towering your figure, leaning in slightly. You feel it in the pit of your stomach; this wasn't what you wanted to come home to, this wasn't what you were expecting.
“Sir I–”
“The kids are hurt,” Neytiri hissed, tugging him sharply away from you. “For once, hold your tongue.”
He gives you one last glance, nostrils flaring as he walks away. That was your cue to trail behind. You walked behind him, eyes cast downwards as your thoughts raced through your mind. Neytiri is quick to come and stand by your side, soft kisses pressed into the top of your head. “Are you hurt, ma’ite? Where were you?” She softly asks.
You pause, feeling the words on the tip of your tongue leave the moment you try to open your mouth to speak. For some reason, you felt embarrassed— ashamed.
“What happened?” You whispered as you neared your grandmother’s hut. You glanced back to your sibling’s shivering figures, all of them unable to look you in the eye. Neytiri didn’t answer either– didn’t know how to tell you that they had found them once again. They processed the severity of the situation still, clearly shaken up and scared.
Everyone stepped inside, Mo'at immediately gathering each of them in a warm embrace. She spoke her thanks to Eywa in a gentle murmur, kissing the top of their heads. Neytiri quickly drew Tuk into her own arms, easing her shaking body.
“Outside, now.” Jake whispers before leaving. You take one last look around at all the people in the room before finally following him, your palms beginning to sweat as your anxiety intensifies.
Once you both find yourselves in a place where there were no lingering stares or whispers, (and without Neytiri having to save your ass this time), he turns to you, anger just as fiery as before. He strides back and forth, feet heavy on the ground as he attempts to choose his words carefully.
“I–” He started to speak, but then averted his gaze, his jaw clenched tight as he tried again. “Where were you?”
You try to swallow the lump forming in your throat as you mull over the question, taking a deep breath before finally attempting to answer. “I went out on a hunt. I have–”
“Without telling anyone firsthand? With scattered avatars over the perimeter?” Jake is quick to interject, arms flailing in anger. “Just what were you thinking? You knew about them going to the old shack and you did nothing to prevent it?”
Your shoulders slump wearily, feeling extremely overwhelmed. “I only wanted to–”
“Jesus Christ, it’s always about what you want, yeah? You with wanting to be olo’eykte, you with wanting to be heard. You and your goddamn wants had us all worried!”
And as you listen to him raise his voice, you turn younger and younger– until you were that same kid trying to tug on his arms to look at your first hit; that same kid who would do anything just for a moment of his time. It was like being ten years old all over again and realizing that he was slowly slipping away. That’s where you finally decided that Jake— your father, was just capable of unloving a child.
You take a step back, feeling the frustration boiling over as well. “Well maybe if you were a better father, they wouldn’t have the need to go against you every once in a while!” You shouted with the same volume as his, “You act as if we’re some sort of troops rather than a family–”
“I do it for you– for everyone! To keep them safe! You think it’s easy?”
“Well you did a pretty good job because from what I see, they’re shaking in their boots inside grandma’s hut!” You sarcastically remarked, “Best dad of Pandora, yeah?”
“Jesus Christ,” He mutters under his breath before looking up, as if he was pleading for Eywa to lengthen his patience. He then looked at you, eyes momentarily softening. You were breathing heavily, fangs baring. It was funny, he thought. You weren’t his daughter and yet you stood in front of him now looking exactly like him.
What he didn’t understand was that it wasn't Tsu’tey’s attitude that was passed down to you– rather, it was Jake’s anger you inherited. This was all him. All his fault.
“I thought I had it good, having Toruk Makto as a father. Five year old me was the proudest, if not a bit boastful too.” You muttered, gaze not meeting his. “There’s this huge difference that draws the line between being the olo’eyktan and a father and you’re doing a real shit job at the latter.”
I miss the latter, you failed to say.
You failed to see the way his ears flattened against his head, how his shoulders dropped like he couldn’t hold the weight of the world’s pressure anymore– but you were unable to see him. No, you two didn’t see each other eye to eye. To know that you failed your child was something a parent would never want to hear. His own daughter resented him and it was a heartache beyond repair.
“You think you make parenting any easier for me?”
“Then I wish you never took me in!”
It was such a thoughtless thing to do; to utter words that you know will only harm you more than they would ever heal - but it was there, finally out of your system; a though that lingered for as long as you can remember. Why take me in? Why raise a kid you wouldn't be able to care for?
You only wished that words could be undone but neither of you knew when to bite one's tongue back.
“Yeah?” He challenged, letting out a mocking snicker. “I really wish I didn’t– is that what you want me to say? Then go ahead and leave. Find a new family, see if they won’t find you any less difficult.”
And that was the final blow– the push you needed to leave. You looked at him in disbelief, vision blurry with tears. You shoved the bag right to his chest, forgetting it momentarily amidst the shouting session you just had with your father; the one you desperately wanted to present to him. With nothing else to say, you stormed off, leaving him behind.
Oh Eywa, there is nothing else as undoing as being an eldest daughter.

Quick question for "I can be a better father"
Would Spider pick up some traits form his adopted father yet still have some personality from the movie? Or he still og?
AVATAR MASTERLIST
Spider will be a little different. He will still have his sweet and loyal, compassionate side. But he will have a strong personality, he will be more calculating and protective like tsu'tey.
Even in its physical aspect, the spider will be stronger and ready for anything. The physical practice will be completely different. Spider would train hard and be a strong and physically fit guy. Tsu'tey would make sure that his son would not be humiliated by anyone, his son might be smaller than other guys, but his strength would make up for everything. Spider would be great competition for anyone.
Spider would be a curious boy…and he would even run away with lo'ak to adventure through the jungle of pandora. And behind them would be Y/N, even though she preferred to be with neteyam. Y/N would escape with her brothers. This would make tsu'tey nervous, he knows he cannot control the nature of his children. But he would punish them for leaving without his permission.
RIP lo'ak because he would be responsible for influencing his children. Y/N would defend his younger brother, while spider would remain silent. Spider knows that if he says anything, tsu'tey would be able to rip his head off.
