Tsireya x Fem!Omaticaya!Reader
Contains: angst, comfort at the end, Avatar: The Way of Water spoilers
Word count: 969
Edited <3
Basically Lo'ak's twin sister and coping with the events of the movie. Written in 3rd & 1st person This will be posted in 3 parts, hopefully all within a few hours! 1st part: build-up 2nd part: after 3rd part: comfort<3
Tsireya had only known the girl for a few months, since her family came to Awa’atlu, her father running from a war that he never intended for his children to get involved in. They had come seeking ukturu, and while the woman was reluctant, Tsahik Ronal allowed them to stay.
Despite the short amount of time, Tsireya had grown to adore the entire family, often chastising Ao’nung when he would pick on them. She knew all of Tuk’s new favorite sea creatures, and admired the way Kiri took naturally to the water. She got along with Neteyam and Lo’ak as well, but she knew about Lo’ak’s crush, and tried her best not to lead him on; she had no interest, but really didn’t wish to be harsh and hurt his feelings.
The sibling that she didn’t really know much about, however, was the third sister. Unlike the others, she was a bit more standoffish. She had very little to say most of the time, and it seemed that this was also true around her family; Kiri had told Tsireya not to worry, as this was how the Omaticaya girl always had been.
She’s shy, maybe, but Tsireya found this unlikely. No shy person carries themself the way she did, much like her older brother, in a way that showed a humble confidence, a security in herself.
It wasn’t until Kiri had a seizure at the Spirit Tree that Tsireya saw a different side of (Name). Seeing the always-composed, neutral-faced girl hurry past her after hearing of what happened, a look of mortal panic on her face, Tsireya remembered; this was not just a warrior, this was a teenage girl, just like her.
After the events of that day, Tsireya amped up her efforts to communicate with (Name). She would be friends with this girl, she swore it to herself.
Eventually, her efforts were rewarded. (Name) began opening up more, became more willing to hang out outside of the training.
Once Tsireya got the big, towering walls lowered, her and (Name) became amazing friends immediately. They didn’t have a whole lot in common; Tsireya was the Tsakarem, versed in medicine and healing, while (Name) was a warrior, and knew how to fight.
This did not stop them. If anything, it gave them more to talk about. Often, (Name) would sit and talk to Tsireya, while the Metkayina girl would braid her hair, weaving in beads and shells. Tsireya rarely had anyone to talk to that didn’t know much about medicine and cared to listen.
Other days, (Name) would teach Tsireya how to shoot a bow, and common hunting tactics in the forest that were drastically different from that of the sea.
Although the boys would fight, and Lo’ak would get into trouble a lot, it seemed like - for the girls at least - things were finally looking up.
When the marui of the Sully family was full of tension and silent nights, no one daring to speak with one or both of the parents angry about Lo’ak or Neteyam’s behavior, (Name) had someone to go to. She could finally have an outlet for the stress in her family, though she kept it to a minimum, not ever wanting to upset Tsireya.
But Tsireya understood. She herself had a troublesome brother, and would always offer comfort and a similar story of something Ao’nung did and why she didn’t understand why boys couldn’t just behave themselves.
(Name) didn’t know what she’d do without Tsireya.
It was amazing when the tulkun returned. While (Name) had been resting in the marui with Kiri, she heard all of the excitement outside, Tsireya’s voice calling everyone.
When she hurried out to see what was going on, she saw the grin on Tsireya’s face that she had began to adore, the beautiful dimples showing. Much quicker than Kiri and Tuk, she called for her ilu and dove into the water.
“(Name)! Come with me, come meet my spirit sister!” Tsireya’s voice called out to her. How could (Name) say no?
Both girls greeted the tulkun, Tsireya smiling widely and (Name) watching in awe. Later, she swam off to find her family, altogether missing when Tsireya signed to the tulkun, 'I met a girl'.
Of course, the good times were bound to end. Just when it seemed like the family was fitting in, and tension in the Sully household was easing, Lo’ak bonded with the outcast tulkun, Payakan.
To make matters worse, he sat there and argued with the Olo’eyktan, as though he forgot who he was speaking to. And (Name) really tried to be understanding; Lo’ak was always a bit of an outcast, so naturally he bonds with one.
But seriously, was it necessary? When everything was going right, and Ao’nung was getting more friendly, and the Metkayina people were beginning to accept them, and even Tsahik Ronal herself was slowly changing her mind about them, he had to go and do that!
(Name) would never say it to her brother’s face, would never admit it, but she was livid. All she wanted was peace, to learn about the ocean and finally feel at home, and her skxawng twin brother went and pissed off the Tsahik. It wasn’t about the outcast tulkun, for her it was just her inability to do anything, to have fun, without eventually getting the talking-to of a lifetime because of something that she didn’t even do.
And it had to get worse. Of course. Everyone woke up to sounds of terror, a heavy weight in the air. Something was very wrong.
A tulkun, Ronal’s spirit sister, floating dead in the water, her calf alongside her. Killed by the sky people, and for no justifiable reason.
Now, the village was ready for war. A war that the Sully family would pay the price for.

Part 1: Betrayal Is The Only Truth That Sticks
Masterlist
Tumblr media
[Name] tried to rid all thoughts from her head as she took a sharp turn around a coral covered rock. If she wanted to win this race, she would have to stay focused. She signalled her Ilu to take another sharp turn to avoid one of the other racers. Manoeuvring out of the way, she watched as the Metkayina girl beside her caught up. Making a quick move, her Ilu crossed directly in front of the other girl, cutting her off. The girl’s Ilu was spooked, causing the girl to slow down leaving [Name] to get ahead.
The races had started pretty soon after [Name] was accepted in to the group, and since then have only become more competitive. The first few races were just for fun, another thing to do in spare time. But as the months went on, the races had become more of a proof of skill. A way to prove that you were better than others and to show who was best rider in the reef.
[Name] knew the path like the back of her hand and every precise turn reflected that. Her movements were quick but smooth, helping her move through the path with speed. [Name] would pass other riders and rocks swiftly, not fearing when she was only inches away from obstacles.
As she looked over to her left, she found Ao’nung’s quick movements matching her own. Now just barely a head, his Ilu blocked her vision as the path narrowed. She had to move by memory, her sharp turns were reliant on the movement of his body and her memory alone. As she struggled to match his movements, her mind flickered to the feeling of the water.
Even when rushing in her face, [Name] found herself at home within the sea. The warm waters of the Metkayina have brought her great happiness over the past few months. Only a few months less than a year ago, she was still tormented by the separation she felt from her family. It had only been when the kids of the Metkayina took her in that she finally learned what family felt like.
Over the last few months, she had finally felt free from the prison in her mind. A prison she was backed into when she was just a young child begging for love she would not receive. She had become best friends with many of the Metkayina kids, choosing to spend time with them instead of her family. And when that caused tension in the Sully family, her friends were there to save her, welcoming her into their homes.
Although [Name] never need to stay in other’s houses, for the day that [Name] finally turned her back on the family that had neglected her, was the same day that Ao’nung’s parents, Ronal and Tonowari, let her in their family.
[Name] was never alone from that point, never left to tame the demons in her mind on her own. No, from that point on, the entirety of the clan had given their attention and love to [Name]. Even just from the Metkayina kids telling their parents, majority of the clan had known of the crimes of the Sully family. Although they tried not to show their feelings towards the Sully family, the stares always seemed to slip out when a Sully member was in [Name]’s general vicinity.
The protective nature of the Metkayina clan over [Name] made her heart warm, like a warm dish on a cold night. Although [Name] appreciated the Metkayina clan as a collective, she enjoyed individuals of the Metkayina clan even more.
[Name]’s friends had loved her from the start, even before they met when she was just beginning to learn their ways. [Name]’s genuine interest and quick skill was intriguing to them. But as the time went on, it was really her personality and kindness that kept them coming back for more.
Ao’nung made a sharp turn into an open area, catching [Name] off guard. It only took a short beat before [Name] realized that this open area was the last stretch of the race. In a quick jerk, [Name] moved her Ilu beside Ao’nung’s, her mind focusing on the finish line. The line was really just two rocks that the Ilu’s would swim between, but it meant so much more as their friends not in the race floated around the rocks, waiting to see who was the winner.
The race was close, Ao’nung and [Name] swimming side-by-side. [Name]’s Ilu creeping in front of Ao’nung’s was enough for determination to flood Ao’nung’s face. He broke into a grin and as they approached the finish line, Ao’nung’s Ilu darted forward, taking the place of [Name]’s between the rocks. Only when Ao’nung’s Ilu started to slow in front of her, did [Name] realize that they had passed the finish line.
Fists pumped in the water and the muffled sound of cheers bubbled from around them. The feeling of adrenaline started to wane as [Name] looked around her. Ao’nung was looking at her with a very familiar look to [Name], a grin plastered on his face.
Ao’nung had won.
As the group made it to the surface, the cheering only got louder, and the shouting of Ao’nung’s name became clear. Even as they were applauding his name, Ao’nung’s eyes stayed firmly placed on [Name], his smirk not wavering as [Name] stare right back at him. Other’s started to pop their heads out of the water as other racers completed the race. A few of the Na’vi not racing, began clapping the racer’s backs, telling them how well they did. A few close to Ao’nung did that to him as well, but his eyes stayed locked on [Name]’s.
[Name] rolled her eyes before smirking. Ao’nung, as stubborn as always, never gave up, did he? The water rippled around them, evidence that there were still people around them and not just the two of them in their own world. As Ao’nung’s amused expression remained, [Name] let out a light hearted huff, shaking her head.
“Good game. You beat me,” [Name] said, trying to keep some level of maturity as she felt her competitive nature creep up.
She never was able to be competitive as a kid, never able to compete really. If there was a competition for her parent’s affection and attention, she lost the moment her siblings were born. Out of the running, benched as she would watch her family grow from the sidelines. But ever since being accepted as a member of the Metkayina clan, she had been learning new things about herself that she was never able to explore before.
“You’re right. I did beat you. Again,” Ao’nung was practically beaming, his face smug from the prospect of beating one of the clan’s best racers.
“Ugh, just barley, if that girl hadn’t cut me off, I would have won,” [Name] stated as matter of fact, chin tilting up in defiance. No way was she going to let this go to Ao’nung’s head.
“And I have been the one winning the past few races, so I don’t know what you’re on about,” [Name] added.
“Sure, but I won the last race and I have won again,” Ao’nung smirked at her for what felt like the hundredth time.
[Name] punched Ao’nung’s arm half-heartedly as she rolled her eyes, “Yes, whatever. You have won this time, but know that I will win the next,” [Name] smirked, eyebrows furrowing into as serious look as she pointed at Ao’nung.
Ao’nung only put his arms in the air, a look of smug disbelief painted across his face, “You will try, but I think second place suits you just fine.”
The sun beating down on them was warm and the water, calm. The ripples that were previously cause by the people around, were calmer and there was less splashing. One quick look around told [Name] that most of the riders were retreating back to the village after a long day.
“I guess you will have The Spear of Yora’tu (winners) for the next week,” [Name] smirked, already knowing Ao’nung’s reaction as she has seen it before.
Ao’nung’s eyes light up, puffing out his chest slightly as he smiled at the reminder.
The Spear of Yora’tu (Spear of Winners) was something the racers came up with a few months into the races. Racing had never been an official thing and so there was no official prize. That was until Ao’nung fought off an Akula, a ferocious and sharp toothed predator that swan just outside of the reef, with the spear. Since then, many in the tribe, including [Name], were able to fight off a predator with it.
Spear was then named for it’s incredible luck and they deemed that the Spear could only be earned by winning an Ilu race. So, since then they have been competing for the spear, which in itself would be enough of a prize, even if it didn’t come with bragging rights.
Ao’nung was known for holding the Spear the longest, though [Name] was always giving him a run for his money. And once again Ao’nung had won it, meaning that he would not let her live it down for the next few days.
“Ah, yes. Proof that I am a winner and better than you,” Ao’nung teased.
[Name] couldn’t help but laugh at that. It hadn’t taken much to get [Name] to laugh at Ao’nung’s jokes lately, however stupid.
Warm wind blew softly by them, blowing their wet hair so gentle it seemed Eywa was caressing them herself. [Name] took a deep breath, eyes closing as she experienced the warm wind around her. Ao’nung was left to watch her, his smirk fading into a small smile as he watched the beautiful girl in front of him.
Ao’nung found it almost a shame that [Name] was never taught in the ways of the Tsahik. Even though she should have been taught simply because of her heritance, the way she experienced the world around her felt as if Eywa flowed right through her. As she breathed in the air, [Name] looked as if she was breathing in the life of the world and had never felt more at peace because of it.
The soft look on Ao’nung’s face was almost a perfect refection of his thoughts.
A thought crossed his mind and Ao’nung decided to voice it, “Do you wanna explore the reef some more tomorrow? Maybe end at the beach?”
[Name] looked at his soft expression with confusion, although she didn’t show it. It wasn’t often that Ao’nung showed his soft side, in fact, [Name] was quite sure she was one of few who had. Tsireya, his sister, had, having been comforted after she got her queue caught on some coral. It was a touching moment that [Name] felt she should not have seen but seeing Ao’nung wrapped his arms around his sister as tears fell from her face, made [Name] feel soft and warm inside. A feeling she could describe as comforting.
But besides his sister, [Name] had hardly seen that expression on Ao’nung, as usually choose to grin or glare. The first time she had ever seen that face was when she had won her first Ilu race. Ao’nung wouldn’t stop telling everyone about how the forest girl won against even the best, for weeks. She didn’t understand it, but she did welcome the feeling she got every time Ao’nung started boasting about her to the other members of the clan.
“That sounds fun! Who’s all coming?” [Name] smiled, ignoring the soft look on his face, or how he was staring in her eyes like she was the only one he has ever seen.
“Oh, it was just going to be us,” Ao’nung explained, his soft look dropped only to be replaced by another smirk.
After a moment of thought, [Name] smiled, “Well, I am in. How could I turn down quality time with you?” [Name] smirked, her teasing hanging in the air, waiting for someone to make a move.
“You just can’t get enough of me, who wouldn’t want to hang out with me?” Ao’nung laughed. [Name] rolled her eyes again, holding in her own laugh, as they made their way back to the village.
Only a few hours later, [Name] found herself in a circle with some of her friends, girls of the Metkayina clan. She carefully guided them through the process of weaving flower crowns, just like she taught Tuk all those years ago. The goal was for them to make them for their families as gifts, as many of the girls had fathers, brothers and mates who were out all day hunting and protecting the seawall and wished to convey their appreciation.
This wasn’t the first day [Name] had taught them, only a few weeks prior she had been trying to teach them when Ao’nung challenged a boy to a race again, and [Name] and many of the girls could not miss that.
Since that day though, the girls had been practicing their skills, impressing [Name], who was more than proud to hear of this. The girls in the circle now were refining their skills, using them to make personal crowns for the ones they loved. [Name] thought the way the personalized them were brilliant. She had never thought to weave shells and pretty beads into the crowns using beading techniques, and she was excited to experiment.
“All I am saying, is that if he really cared he would approach you about it,” One of the girls told the girl beside her as she added a blue flower to her crown.
Mumbles of agreement sounded from around the circle, all seemingly deciding that that was the end of that argument. It was silent for a moment, only the sounds being of hands hard at work weaving and waves crashing next to them.
Then one girl piped up, looking at [Name], “I think I know the answer, [Name], but has anything gotten better with your family?”
All of the girls seemed become somber at that thought. They had seen [Name] around and they knew that things had not gotten better, in fact, the might have become worse. The Sully family was leaving their marui less and less, and they knew that [Name] blamed herself, as much as she didn’t want to think about it.
“No, no it hasn’t,” [Name] sighed, she had thought about this a lot. Even after separating herself from them and creating a new life for herself that she loved, she still felt guilty and responsible for the family she grew up with.
The girls around her muttered words of comfort, and the girls beside her held her hands and shoulders.
“They don’t deserve you, you deserve better.”
“Yeah, you’re with us now.”
“And we love having you around!”
“Of course, look what you have taught us,” One girls said, holding up her crown. “We thought we were just going to teach you.”
The girls nodded eagerly at each of the statements as if they believed them whole heartedly. [Name] smiled, looking at all of the faces that loved her very much. After a moment of comforting from the girls, they began to weave their crowns again and one of the girls made a move to change the subject.
“How are you and Ao’nung?” She questioned, [Name] would have said innocently, but as the girl started to smirk, she thought otherwise.
“What about me and Ao’nung?” [Name] hesitantly, wondering if this was going the way she thought it was going.
“How has courting each other been?”
Giggles sounded around the circle, smirks finding their way on many of the girl’s faces.
“What do you mean? We are not courting each other,” [Name] questioned, her eyes wide in alarm, blood rushing to her cheeks, did they think that they were courting eachother?
Choruses of gasps of shock and mumbles of ‘what?’ erupted from around her. [Name] was met with the prospect that others thought there was something going on between her and Ao’nung. Why did others see this but not her? Honestly, [Name] though they were going to ask if [Name] had a crush on Ao’nung, and was surprised that it seemed they had skipped that step.
“You mean to tell us that all this dancing around you have done, is unintentional?” Another of the girls asked, visibly perplexed.
“I mean, I thought we were just good friends…” [Name] muttered to herself, but the girls heard.
The thought did cross [Name]’s mind, that maybe she didn’t really know the difference between friends and something more, Ao’nung being her first friend and all. What if the comfort [Name] found in Ao’nung was mutual?
“Why did you think we were courting each other?” [Name] just had to ask, had to be sure.
“Are you kidding? We see how you two act around each other, like you can’t get enough of each other,” A girl started.
“Like you two are the only ones in the ocean,” One of the girls finished.
“Really?” [Name] felt that familiar warm feeling in her stomach. “I would have thought there was a better, Metkayina girl for him.”
The girls erupted in a laugh again. A good feeling, hearty laugh from the stomach at the idea of Ao’nung having anyone else ‘better’ for him.
As one of the girls started to come down from her laughter, she put her hand on [Name]’s shoulder, “Look, I love all of the girls of the Metkayina clan, except for Tseiie, can’t stand her,” The other girls giggled at that, knowing of her discontent for that girl. “But everybody knows that there is nobody better for Ao’nung than you.”
Another wave of nodding occurred, as well as mumbles of agreement.
“I don’t know about everyone…" [Name] reasoned, not believing that the entirety of the clan believed that [Name] was best for the leader’s son.
“No, it is everyone. Every girl and their mother knows that you are the best for him.”
“We have seen you two, he is so much nicer to everyone when you’re around.”
“Not to mention how nice he is to you.”
“When you first became friends, he actually started to be nicer. Like, not bullying people!”
“Yeah, that was nice.”
“And to think that is all because of you.” One of the girls threw the back of her hand on her forehead and pretended to faint.
[Name] sat there looking at all the girls confirming the situation with Ao’nung as truth, her face hot and flushed. [Name] hardly knew what to think, everyone thought Ao’nung and [Name] should be together? Her best friend, the one who took her in when her family failed, the man who had unknowingly carried her heart so gently for months. They were best for each other? [Name] found herself smiling at the thought, after coming second in the race, who knew that this day could get better?
“Even the Tsahik, interrupter of Eywa, his mother, thinks that nobody is better for her son than you,” One of the girls whispered, making the whole circle smile like madmen.
“Their whole family thinks you are perfect for one another.”
[Name]’s flushed a deep red at that. It was one thing for the clan to think they should get together, but his parents? The Tsahik? The implications of that were on an whole other level. [Name] had begun to think about how maybe they could court each other. Being the son of the leaders, and [Name] being the daughter of outsiders, she didn’t think it could ever happen. Never allowed to be. But after hearing about the clan as well as the leaders hoping for them to be, [Name] couldn’t help but hope for mutual feelings from Ao’nung.
Ao’nung’s parents had been nothing but loving since the day her family cornered [Name]. After finally leaving her family, Ao’nung brought [Name] back to his family’s marui, where he explained to his parents what had happened. His parents were more than happy to let [Name] into their home. That night was spent sharing shed tears and comforting on another. From that day on, [Name] stayed with Ao’nung’s family and they loved her like one of their own.
Ronal’s love really solidified when [Name] offered to help her and Tsireya with their tasks and chores. At first, Ronal was unsure but as she watched [Name] help her daughter, staying kind and caring even when things got stressful, Ronal found herself wondering how anyone could forget about [Name].
[Name] smiled at the thought of finally having a family who loved her. After a moment of the circle of weaving flower crowns, [Name] decided to share her plans for the next day.
“Ao’nung asked me to explore the reef with him tomorrow,” [Name] smirked knowing the girls would eager to know more. “And he made sure I knew that we would be alone.”
“What? No way!”
“Oooooo, somebody has a date~” One girl sung.
“You have to tell us everything!” The girls giggled.
[Name] smirked to herself as the girls leaned in to hear her next words.
“He said we would end at the beach just before eclipse.” [Name] whispered, leaning in herself.
“Thats when the sky is the prettiest!”
“You are so lucky, you know? Ao’nung a year ago was the worst.” More giggling sounded from around the circle.
“That is so cute! Do you think he will ask to–”
“They can’t until she has competed Iknimaya.”
[Name] knew what they were talking about. Iknimaya was the rite-of-passages that lead to becoming an adult in the Metkayina clan. [Name] had completed many of them over the last few months with her soul sister, the Tulkun she bonded with, but she hadn’t complete the last one.
Taming a skimwing.
[Name] knew that Ao’nung had already completed this last rite-of-passage and had become an adult in the eyes of the clan. Ao’nung was already eligible for a mate, unfortunately [Name] would not be in the selection if she did not become an adult herself in the eyes of the clan.
“Oh, she will be able to complete it soon. Won’t you [Name]?”
[Name] smiled, focusing back on her flower crown. She planned to complete that very soon.
Kiri hesitantly enters the marui where her family resides. She can see so clearly on their faces the regret and broken hearts. Ever since the day that she, Lo’ak, and Neteyam sought out answers from [Name], they had been a broken family. Kiri wasn’t sure how they were able to miss so much of [Name]’s torment, or how they missed how they were the cause of it. Years of neglect had lead [Name] to find family in the Metkayina rather than her own. Kiri understood now just how much that neglect affected her oldest sister.
It was a shame, Kiri could hardly remember her youth with [Name], and she knew Lo’ak and Neteyam felt the same. Looking through their memories of [Name], one would think that [Name] wasn’t even related, at best a distant cousin. [Name] was a blur in their minds, and after a while of not seeing [Name] around, they began to forget what she looked like. Although one would think that someone could recognized their sibling in a crowd, the only tell that [Name] was their sibling was that she was the only formerly-Omatikaya body in a crowd of Metkayina.
Kiri’s heart hurt every time she watched the familiar blue body of her older sister leave the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik’s marui in the mornings. It wasn’t often that any of the Sully family saw [Name] anymore and because of that, Kiri woke up at the same time every morning to watch [Name] swim off with her friends.
Almost every time she saw [Name], she was reminded of the night [Name] finally severed herself from the family she grew up with. Walking back to their marui had proven difficult as the prospect of telling Tuk of what had happened was enough to break their hearts. Their oldest sister was everything to their youngest sister. It was hard to imagine why they were so close, being that Kiri and her brothers never actually saw Tuk and [Name] hangout, they just knew that they did.
The walk back was slow, their footsteps the whole way heavy, a thousand thoughts wrapping around their heads like a hurricane.
She’s gone. How is she gone? Where did we go wrong? What just happened? How could we forget about her.
Kiri will never forget the look on their parent’s faces when they heard about [Name]. Neytiri dropped to her knees, eyes blown is shock. Jake just stared, still in his place. The three had just walked into the marui, hearing Tuk, Jake, and Neytiri laughing. Laughing that stopped abruptly when they saw the looks on their sibling’s and children’s faces. Expressions that could rival losing a loved one, which, one might suppose they did.
After the initial shock, they all watched as Neytiri brought Tuk close as tears started to stream from her eyes. Between Tuk and Neytiri, there was enough tears to be labeled as a waterfall. Jake didn’t move, stuck in his mind, only coming back to when his two sons came to his side, hugging him tight.
It was difficult to describe the pain that went to their hearts that day. Both from losing [Name], but also from their own personal inadequacies. How in the entirety of Pandora could they forget their oldest daughter. Their daughter who they know was always there for them, even if they didn’t let her. She was always by their side, helping them with whatever they needed. There was a point where [Name] was left to take care of her siblings every time her parents went on dates. [Name] had always had their backs and they stabbed [Name] in hers.
[Name] was the reason Jake and Neytiri wanted more kids. Even from the beginning, [Name] never made a fuss. She was the sweetest child they could hope for, always giggling and smiling at them. As Neytiri was pregnant, they would tell [Name] of how she was to become a sister, and even as a baby, [Name] seemed overjoyed to be an older sibling. Then Neteyam was born and it was like a switch flipped and [Name] no longer was the centre of attention. Sure, she still had some attention, being a baby in all. But as she was nearly a year older than Neteyam, when Neteyam and Kiri turned one, [Name] became an afterthought. Only really being cared for after Neteyam and Kiri.
Jake and Neytiri never meant to overlook their oldest child, but as the years flew by and they gave attentive care to [Name]’s siblings, it became unforgivable. There is a certain point where the neglect becomes intentional. A point when one is no longer able to ignore the fact that it would have been difficult to actively ignore someone you see every day for the first half of their life. If this was accidental, it happened out of a lack of care.
Lo’ak was gutted, not only because of [Name]’s separation from the family, but also because Tsireya stopped talking to him. [Name] had always been there for him, this much he knew. But over the years her face started to fade in his memories, only seeming to have actually hung out with her while they were young. Lo’ak knew that [Name] cared for him, but he couldn’t remember why he knew that. What actions in their past made him believe this about her.
He tried to look back, remember what his older sister was like when they were young. He was born not long after Kiri, and he remembered [Name] being around a lot, taking care of him and giving him her care and attention. [Name] was young as well at the time, but that never stopped her from offering a small hand to Lo’ak when he fell. As the years flew by, Lo’ak remembered less and less of his oldest sister, being as he started to push her away. A truth Lo’ak was finding hard to accept as of late.
Neteyam remembered more than most of his siblings, having been there with [Name] the longest. He remembers learning to hunt and shoot with her, running off in the forest away from Jake who was pretending to be a monster with her. He remembers [Name] fixing his small cuts from falling and placing leaves on his blisters caused by their bows. But much like Lo’ak, his memories of his sister faded as she became a background character in their important lives. Yes, [Name] was always still there, but she felt like a ghost. Only reminder that she was there was her soft movements that would usually head in the direction of the forest.
The two boys were not only upset at her leaving, but at their parents neglect to their oldest sister. They were upset at Ao’nung for taking [Name] from them. And they were upset at themselves for letting their sister become distant and separated from their lives practically their entire lives.
Although everyone took this news to heart, the one that took it the hardest was Tuk. Tuk had always loved [Name], and from the moment she was born [Name] had loved Tuk. Tuk was the first to have experienced [Name]’s matured and more motherly love. Even though [Name] was still young, she was in no way considered a baby, and thus was more than capable to take care of Tuk.
And take care of Tuk she did. Tuk was by far the most loved child, not only because she was the youngest, but because she had [Name]. [Name] was always there to care for her, being pretty much the only other one to hold Tuk when she was young, other than their parents. While Tuk was a baby, [Name] could often be found trying to make her baby sister laugh, entertaining her for hours.
As they grew, the two only grew closer. [Name] taught Tuk everything she knew, and although she knew Tuk was to get a lot more attention than she did, she made sure that Tuk knew she was enough just on her own. Tuk learned about beading, flower crown weaving and the basics of healing from [Name], all things she couldn’t quite do with her tiny hands but enjoyed learning none the less.
Tuk began to hang out with her other siblings more as she grew older, but still always found time to enjoy [Name]’s company. [Name] couldn’t blame her youngest sister for wanting to hang out with her other siblings more, for she wanted that just as much. But [Name] knew that she had tried and there was no reason to continue to bug her siblings further. So she let Tuk run off with Kiri and Spider, and get into trouble with Lo’ak. Lo’ak always the one getting in trouble, even if it was Tuk’s doing.
Tuk remembers the most of her siblings, even more than Neteyam, so when she heard of [Name] not going to be in their lives anymore, Tuk felt as if her heart was pulled out. Tuk, being as young as she was, couldn’t even find a way to communicate her sadness over the loss of her sister. Tears seemed to only stop flowing from her eyes when there were no more tears left to cry. The Sully’s had to make sure she was drinking lots of water being as she almost never stopped crying. They were worried for their youngest, who didn’t stop crying even in her sleep. Tuk’s experience with [Name] was so positive that if Tuk didn’t already have a mother who loved her immensely, she would ask for [Name]’s love as a replacement.
Tuk never wanted to leave the marui, only really doing so to see Ilus. Her family’s attempt at making her feel better, and while it did a little, it only really confirmed just how much damage their neglect had on [Name].
Tuk only really stopped crying when one day Tsireya came by and offered to take Tuk out for the day. Kiri remembers how grateful her family was that Tsireya was giving Tuk an opportunity to get some fresh air and enjoy life again. What Kiri didn’t know, was that Tsireya planned to meet up with [Name].
When Tuk caught sight of [Name], she ran to her with no hesitation. Tuk spent the rest of the day held in [Name]’s arms. The walked on the beach, explored more of the reef and played on Ilus, all while Tuk was firmly wrapped in [Name]’s warm embrace. She didn’t leave her arms for hours, only letting go once it was past eclipse and Tuk knew she should be getting home if she didn’t want to get into trouble.
When Tuk got home, the entire family notice just how much happier Tuk was. The girl finally wasn’t crying every moment.
From then on, it became a regular thing for Tuk hang out with [Name] and her friends for the day, and everyday Tuk would come back home with a smile. Even if someone would ask what has gotten her smiling, she would smile and shrug, not giving any more information.
One day, Tuk came home with a pretty flower crown on her head and her parents along with her siblings were in awe. Kiri remembers one of them asking if Tuk had made the pretty crown that sat comfortably on her head. Tuk only shook her head, stating simply that it was [Name]’s handy work and skipped over to where dinner had been prepared.
Their stomachs dropped, Tuk had been hanging out with [Name]? [Name] let her do that? And when did [Name] become so good at weaving flower crowns? The wondered if Tuk taught her, knowing that Tuk had made them all flower crowns when they were young. Desperate to have their questions answers, they asked Tuk.
“Who taught [Name] to weave? Did you, Tuk?” Neytiri asked, watching her youngest closely as to not miss a sliver of information about their oldest.
“What? No silly. She taught me. [Name] has always been the best weaver in the clan, this clan and the last.” Tuk stated simply, smiling to herself as she thought about all of the beautiful projects [Name] was able to make.
“She taught you? When did she teach you? And when was she taught?” Jake asked, the last part more to himself but everyone else in the marui caught it.
“Of course she taught me! Who else? She taught me a long time ago, remember when we gave you those flowers crowns a while ago? Yeah those were hand made by [Name], I was only able to make two of them. It’s hard with my tiny hands.” Tuk finished, taking a bite of her dinner.
“She made those? We thought you did…” Kiri muttered.
“You think I did? I was like 5.”
“Who taught [Name] then?” Lo’ak asked, eyes furrowed in confusion.
“I don’t think anyone did. I think she has learned a lot of things from watching people. You know, because nobody will teach her,” Tuk explained, taking another big bite of her dinner, of which she seemed to enjoy.
They weren’t sure if Tuk realized it or not, but her statement was a silent dig at their parenting. Parenting that for [Name], didn’t include much teachings. Besides being taught to hunt and use a bow, [Name] was not taught about much else, leaving her to figure it out on her own. If watching people was how she learned, then that really reflected how poorly Jake and Neytiri had been at teaching her.
That night ended cold and sad for the Sully family. The thought of not realizing yet another part of [Name]’s brilliance weighed on them.
It was a bright day in the reefs, the water was warm and the breeze gentle as [Name] and Ao’nung explored the colourful corals and wildlife that the Metkayina clan had to offer. Rounding the corner of a particularly colourful piece of coral, [Name] found herself face to face with a grinning Ao’nung looking at her.
“What?” [Name] signed, slightly worried at his all too happy expression.
“What? I can’t smile?" Ao’nung teased, signing back.
“Not when your smiling like you have something planned,” [Name] signed.
“Why is it that you always think I am up to something?” Ao’nung signed, lifting his brow playfully.
“If you saw your expression right now, you would understand why,” [Name] giggled, watching Ao’nung rolled his eyes playfully.
Only a few hours later, [Name] and Ao’nung found themselves walking on the beach side-by-side. The sun was low, teetering on eclipse, making the bioluminescence of the water and the wildlife glow a marvellous, ethereal light that [Name] was never able to get enough of. Their walk was slow and silent, but brought great comfort to both of them.
Their hands hung by their sides, brushing one another from time to time but neither had the heart to move away or take the chance and grab the other’s hand. [Name] sighed, her mind on the day she left the Sully family.
“I just want to thank you for helping me that day, you know, bringing me into your friend group and all. I have never forgotten that day, and not a day goes by that I don’t appreciate what you have done for me,” [Name] confessed, slowing down to as stop in order to get her message across.
“It’s alright [Name],” Ao’nung begun, stopping next to [Name] before turning to face her.
[Name] cut Ao’nung off before he could continue, “Really. I have no idea where I would be if you and your friends didn’t come to make fun of me that day.”
Ao’nung grimaced at that. Making fun of the girl before him was not something he like to remember.
“It’s really okay, I am glad we are friends.” Ao’nung said in attempts to comfort the girl in front of him. He grabbed her hand gently and guided her to sit next to him on the beach as she continued.
“And everything you have done for me since! You really are the best, thank you so much for all you have done for me,” [Name] spoke earnestly, looking directly in Ao’nung’s eyes, something that caught Ao’nung off guard.
“[Name], I would do it all again a million times if it meant becoming friends with you,” Ao’nung spoke truthfully, that familiar tease in his voice none existent as he gazed into [Name]’s eyes. “I would do it all again in a heartbeat.”
[Name] smiled at his words, watching Ao’nung’s face once again. There was that look again. That look of softness that was oh so rare, sitting perfectly on Ao’nung’s smooth face. A moment went by, the two of them just looking in each other’s eyes. But then [Name]’s mind went back to what she was thankful for, Ao’nung could practically see the shift on her face.
“Thank you so much for all that your family has done as well. Letting me into your home must not have been easy but I am so grateful for all that you and your family have done to make me feel at home.” [Name] began again, she spoke as if this had been weighing on her for a while, and it probably had.
Ao’nung let out an amused huff, shaking his head affectionately, “[Name], please don’t worry about it. We love having you around. Honestly, I think my mother likes you more than me at this point.”
“She does not,” [Name] smiled, shaking her head.
“I’m not even kidding, she will push me aside when you walk in,” Ao’nung joked, but somewhere in [Name]’s gut knew that it was not as much of a joke as Ao’nung was letting on.
“Thank you,” Ao’nung started, catching [Name] completely off guard. “Thank you for coming into our lives and making them better.”
Ao’nung paused for a moment, hesitating on whether or not to continue.
“Thank you for making my life better,” Ao’nung smiled softly, holding both of [Name]’s hands.
[Name] smiled as if she had never been told such beautiful words, and rested her forehead against Ao’nung’s. The sun set behind them, the beauty of pandora finally glowing once again, but [Name] and Ao’nung could only find bliss in each other in this moment.
Less than a week later, [Name] and Ao’nung along with some of their friends, were hanging out in the shallow waters next to a more secluded beach not far from the village. It wasn’t at all private, in fact many of the Metkayina kids favoured hanging out here in their free time. The beach was beautiful, long billowing overhanging trees acting as a sort of cover from the sun and the rare rain, and beautiful naturally growing flowers surrounded the beach.
It had been a long day mostly consisting of chores and teaching [Name] to successfully tame a skimwing. They were readying up for the day she would complete her last iknimaya, which would take place in just over a week. [Name] was excited to become an adult in the eyes of the clan and Eywa but at the same time she was beyond nervous about the whole ordeal. [Name] would manage though, after all she had all of her friends who were more than eager to help her in anyway. Ao’nung even offered to give her a ride on the skimwing he tamed, but [Name] declined as she didn’t want her experience to be different than any other kid in the Metkayina clan.
Regardless, they were taking the night to relax. [Name], Ao’nung and their friends were laughing and joking around all evening, finding humour in even the smallest of things. Even their own laughter was enough to keep them laughing. Some of their friends facing the beach’s laughter died down all of a sudden. Following in suit, [Name] and the others facing their backs to the beach, turned in order to see what was the cause of this sudden seriousness.
But when they turned around they found Lo’ak, Neteyam, and Tuk walking past. There was a moment of silence and that was when the three Sullys noticed the group watching them. The group grabbed [Name]’s shoulders, pulling her close and most importantly, away from her brothers, and sent nasty glares in their direction. Neteyam and Lo’ak’s heads lowered in shame when the noticed the darker blue body among the group. As they walked past, [Name] noticed Tuk looking at her, a familiar longing on Tuk’s face. So as they walked by, almost out of view, [Name] nodded at Tuk for her to join them.
Tuk’s light up, her smile as bright as the sun. She gave Neteyam a small tap that alerted him of her departure and run off to join [Name] and her friends. Tuk ran into the water and splash over until she crashed into [Name], who was more than happy to reciprocate Tuk’s affection. The day ended in smiles and contagious laughter, another good day in the Metkayina clan.
[Name] felt as if she was born ready. Born ready to finally tame a skimwing and become an adult. She had been waiting for this day ever since she started learning the ways of the Metkayina people. Her commitment, dedication, and passion kept her learning, growing, and building her skills. And it had all lead up to this day.
The task was rather simple, get on the skimwing, bond with it, and stay on the skimwing. And that was all she thought about as she moved to tackle the skimwing before her.
As she grabbed on, the skimwing darted forward and [Name] was reminded of Ilu racing. This couldn’t be much different, could it? Her question was quickly answered when she was promptly thrown to the side, [Name] swallowing a gulp of water as she hits the surface. [Name] had no other choice but get back up and try again. A lot was riding on this. If she completed this, if she managed to tame the skimwing, she would be an adult and they would hold a ceremony for her. They had already begun preparing it, already so sure of her awaited success.
[Name] made another quick movement, jumping back on the skimwing. This time she locked her legs around the slippery animal and grabbed both the queues, connecting them. All of a sudden everything became clear. The skimwing settled down, his heartbeat matching with [Name]’s as she felt everything in her body as well as his. With a firm hand on the handle, [Name] commanded the skimwing to move.
She was instantly jutted forward as the skimwing dove into the water. [Name] didn’t think she would be able to hold on, it quickly becoming a struggle. But after a few seconds, she started getting used to the feeling of water rushing at her. Readjusting her grip, [Name] told the skimwing to jump out of the water into the air, and the skimwing did.
Jumping out of the water, [Name] was left to see the whole clan watching her success and cheering her on. Bright smiles and enthusiastic clapping was heard from all around the village as [Name] and her skimwing made their rounds.
When the ceremony finally came, [Name] was practically bouncing in her seat. Her excitement could hardly be contained as she watched Ronal and Tonowari approach her with proud smiles, beads and necklace in hand.
“[Name], you have done much in the last year. Learning faster than most of our ways and you are more than eligible to become an adult in the eyes of Eywa,” Tonowari started, Ronal nodding proudly from beside him.
“These beads are to add to your songcord, as a way to commemorate your progression into adulthood,” Tonowari handed [Name] three small beads, one made of a small shell, one a pretty green bead and the last a small chunk from a tooth of a skimwing.
“And this,” Ronal began, laying the beautiful pearl and beaded necklace around [Name]’s neck. “Is a necklace that my daughter, Tsireya beaded for you for this special day.”
[Name] smiled at them, looking up at the leaders as if they were her parents, real parents that loved her. She smiled at Tsireya as well, who was standing just behind her parents.
“Now that you are an adult, you may get your first tattoo. The tattoo of your soul sister.” Tonowari smiled. “But all in due time, for now, we feast!”
The clan erupted in applause and cheers, another child growing into an adult of the Metkayina clan. A time to celebrate and enjoy.
Ao’nung took no time in approaching [Name] after she thanked Tsireya dearly for the wonderful necklace. [Name] was still fiddling with the necklace with a smile when Ao’nung appeared in front of her.
“You know, I helped her make that.” Ao’nung smirked, watching the disbelieving look creep onto [Name]’s face.
“Really?” [Name] deadpanned.
“Really," Ao’nung stayed smirking but there was no hint of deception on his face nor in his voice. “I mean, it was just a few beads and I told her your real size when she got it wrong, but I still helped.”
[Name] smiled, touched by the fact Ao’nung help make something so beautiful just for her.
“Thank you, Ao’nung,” [Name] smiled, moving to lay a quick peck on Ao’nung’s cheek. “I really appreciate it.”
Only two days later, [Name] and Ao’nung found theirselves walking down a beach again. The walk was silent but comfortable. The two were more than happy to enjoy the beauty of the world around them in silence as they walked hand in hand. They had just gotten back from a meal spent with Ao’nung’s family, as usual, when Ao’nung asked for [Name] to walk with him. When [Name] agreed, Ao’nung grasped her hand and tugged her in the direction of the shore.
The plant life was glowing around them once again, the darkness of the night only accentuating the already apparent beauty of pandora. Ao’nung noticed how beautiful the glowing speckles on [Name]’s face were as he snuck glances at her from the corner of his eye.
Ao’nung slows to a stop, his and [Name]’s attached hands brings her to a stop as well. Ao’nung turns to face [Name], and it met with her soft gaze. Ao’nung has always found [Name] beautiful, but in this moment, with the light from the flowers around her reflecting off the water and on to her soft face, Ao’nung thought she was the most beautiful entity in all of pandora. Maybe even the universe.
“[Name], I am so glad to have met you. You are every star in the sky, every thought I think, ever breath I take,” Ao’nung stares in [Name]’s eyes as if they were the gateway to her soul, a soul he has fallen in love with. He watches as [Name]’s smile starts to widen, her eyes starting to water.
“I wish to never leave your side, to be there for you forever,” Ao’nung’s smile begin to widen as [Name]’s hand cupped his face.
“I want to be with you forever, [Name],” His smile was soft, a reflection of [Name]’s soft smile as she put her other hand on Ao’nung’s cheek.
[Name] had been dreaming of this moment, and by the look on Ao’nung’s face, it was evident he had too.
“I see you, Ao’nung,” [Name] whispered so softly it was as if she thought she might scare Ao’nung away.
“I see you, [Name]," Ao’nung beamed, holding her neck and jaw in his evidently much bigger hands.
A small, happy tear fell from [Name]’s face. She wasn’t sure if it was Ao’nung’s attentiveness or the thought of finally finding someone who wanted to spend the rest of their life with her. Either way, [Name] was happy.
Ao’nung pulled her into an intimate kiss, their bodies stayed close as they moved in unison. The kiss was like a promise, filled with untold secrets and unspoken words. The kiss was first of many that night, and many for the rest of their lives, as they mated under Eywa. The two becoming one in a single, long awaited day.
The very next day, they told Ronal and Tonowari. At first they were worried that Ao’nung’s parents would be mad, but as the news came out, the two leaders were instantly beaming. Ronal brought [Name] into a tight hug, whispering in her ear at just how happy she was that [Name] was now her daughter under Eywa. Tonowari clapped his son’s back, telling him just how amazing a mate was going to be and how proud of him he was for choosing [Name].
Tsireya was just as happy, jumping around in circles with [Name]’s hands in hers when she heard the news. She told [Name] that she was happy to have a sister and about how much fun they were going to have.
In the next few days, [Name] got her tattoo, and started to learn the ways of the Tsahik. Ronal insisted [Name] learn the ways of the Tsahik if she was going to be the future leader of the clan. Tsireya, although she believed what her mother said, she also thought that it was just another excuse for her to hang out with [Name].
[Name] was beaming when she learned she would be taught the ways of the Tsahik, as she was not previously allowed to by her birth parents. [Name] although in line for the Tsahik, was never in the running, so as she was being taught, [Name] couldn’t help but be excited about every new thing she learned.
It had only been a few weeks since she mated with Ao’nung, when the Sully family came knocking at their marui. It was a surprise to all to see them, the Sullys were known to stick to themselves, never seen talking to anyone other than each other. [Name] was enjoying her dinner with her family when she saw them in the opening of the leader’s marui. Ronal and Tonowari stood up immediately, looking at the Sully parents with clear discontent.
“What are you doing here?” Tonowari asked, his voice commanding but restrained as he tried to remain civil.
“You have no place standing there, what is it you want?” Ronal demanded, not as patient as her mate.
Jake and Neytiri put their hands up as if to show they mean no harm. Still the two leaders of the clan stepped forward as to block [Name] from view, shielding her from whats to come.
“We just came to talk to [Name], if we could have a moment,” Jake asked calmly.
“No. Whatever you can say to [Name], you can say to us,” Ronal stated clearly.
“Okay…” Jake started hesitantly, seeing the hostile looks on each of the faces in the room. Particularly Ao’nung.
“We just wanted to say,” Jake looked around at his family for conformation, and when he got it, he continued. “That we are so sorry for what we did. And what we continued to do your whole life. I am sorry we neglected you and weren’t really there. We promise we care and love you.”
“We are hoping you will come back?” Neytiri tried, the her children nodding from behind her.
“Come back? After what you did to her, or really, all that you didn’t do for her?” Ronal roared.
Ronal was beyond pissed at this point, fed up with all of the neglect [Name] faced at the hands of her so called parents. It baffled her how they could treat such a sweet and amazing child like [Name], so horribly.
“You are out of your minds if you think that she would come back to you after all you have done.” Tonowari’s jaw was clenched and his fists tight, an almost identical expression on Ao’nung. “What do you even know about [Name]?”
Jake and Neytiri were frozen and at a loss for words. What did they know about [Name]?
“She makes flower crowns?” Neytiri offered, an already troubled by the lack of information she had about her oldest.
“Do you know her favourite thing to do is?” Ronal asked, immensely curious as to if she was going to get an answer.
Ronal’s question was met with silence and awkward shuffling from the Sully family.
“Did you know that [Name] has become the top Ilu racer?” Tsireya asked, peaking from behind her father.
Silence.
“Did you know that she had complete that last rite-of-passage and is now an adult of the Metkayina clan?” Tonowari asked.
More Silence.
“Did you know that she is mated to Ao’nung?” Ronal questioned, getting more upset by the second at the Sully’s silence.
More Silence.
“Did you know she is training to be the next Tsahik?” Ao’nung asked, becoming incredibly frustrated at his mate’s former family.
Once again, they were met with silence.
“Do you even know when is [Name]’s birthday?” Tsireya asked, mortified by the silence, tears already swelling in her eyes.
When the Sullys made no move to say anything, that’s when [Name] finally broke.
“It’s today. My birthday is today. You didn’t know that?” [Name] asked softly, her voice coming out as a broken whisper.
Tears were now streaming freely down [Name]’s face, right in view of the Sullys as Ronal and Tonowari stepped to the side.
It was then that Jake, Neytiri, Lo’ak, Neteyam, and Kiri all realized just how little they knew about their sister and daughter. [Name] had never really left, she was always within distance. At any point they could have ask someone, or [Name] herself, how she was doing. But they didn’t, instead they moped and let themselves feel bad for themselves as if [Name] had done something to them.
“Even Tuk knew, and she wished [Name] a happy birthday.” Tsireya added.
“Why didn’t you tell us Tuk?” Neytiri asked, turning to her youngest.
“It’s not my fault you didn’t know your first born’s birthday, can’t do your parenting for you.” Tuk stated simply before running up to [Name] and embracing her in a warm hug.
“You are terrible parents. Even after learning of your own inadequacies, for months you refused to learn and grow. You don’t deserve [Name], she deserves better.” Ronal informs them firmly, not shying away from the rudeness in her tone.
[Name] shook her head as she looked at her old family, “I can’t believe even after all of these years, you still have no idea what you have done to me. What I have lost because of you! I never knew what true happiness was like until we came here and I met some of my favourite people,” [Name] spoke, looking around at her real family with a small smile. “I am Metkayina now, I have found a family who loves me and actually shows they care for me!”
Ao’nung wraps his arm around [Name]’s shoulder and Ronal and Tonowari rest their hands on [Name]’s back, Tuk’s arms still firmly wrapped around [Name]’s. Her new family smiles at her, showing her the love and attention she has always wanted.
“I am daughter of Ronal and Tonowari now. Sister of Tsireya and mate of Ao’nung. This is my life and I love it more than anything. So please stop taking good things away from me!” [Name] finished, glaring at her former family.
The Sullys had tears in their eyes, Neytiri’s were streaming down her face, but they remained silent.
“You heard my daughter, we are her family now. Now leave, before I change my mind about let your family stay in our clan," Ronal’s threat hung in the air as the Sullys rushed to leave.
Each Sully left that marui more broken than before, knives plunged deeply into their chests. They knew they had been terrible to [Name], but as they just witnessed, it was clearly only a fraction of the damage they had done. Each of their hearts were heavy with the fact they had no idea anything about [Name]. How had they missed her rite-of-passage? Or her being mated under Eywa with the son of the leaders?
How had they not know that it was [Name]’s birthday?
The words said would haunt them for the rest of their lives. Lo’ak couldn’t believe he’d missed [Name] becoming an adult, when had that happened? Neteyam was shocked to learn that [Name] had a mate. Kiri was conflicted when she heard [Name] was learning the ways of the Tsahik, shouldn’t [Name] have been the one getting taught the ways of the Tsahik with Kiri, all those years ago?
Jake and Neytiri were beside themselves, their minds messes. They truly were terrible parents, weren’t they?
Tonowari and Ronal were left to comfort their oldest daughter when the Sullys finally left. [Name] was crying, Tuk still in her arms, as Tsireya and Ao’nung already begun comforting the girl.
“[Name], you know you will always have us,” Tonowari spoke, his voice soft, a stark contrast to how he spoke to the Sully family.
“Yes and you are loved and cared for here,” Ronal added, smiling down at the teary eyed girl before her.
[Name] couldn’t help but smile. Because after all, she knew that this family would never betray her.

“You are good to go, if anything goes wrong or if they are not very welcoming, just say the word and we will get you” the head director of the ocean na’vi program says. In front of him was the new girl. Determined and open minded to learn new things, and was given the ultimate task.
Make the first human contact with the reef na’vi.
Nodding in excitement, the new recruit gets into a canoe with her prepared items. Making sure she is set for sail, she looks at her comrades. “I will let you know everything. Hopefully, this can go well. If doctor Agustine has faith in us, we can't lose” she says with optimus in her voice.
Saying her last farewell, she sets off to the Metkayina island.
“This will be good, I can feel it!”
Tumblr media
She arrives at the island, her eyes in awe as she gets closer to the shore. So many na’vi! They all stare at her, many in fear, others in curiosity, and many ready to fight her. Raising her hands, she gets out from her canoe and displays she is of no harm.
“I come in peace, I bring no harm” the human girl announces in perfect, fluent na’vi.
Many, from what she suspects are warriors, stare at her in surprise.
“You are a sky demon! Leave or we will not be easy on you!” one of the warriors warned her. Another warrior follows after.
“We heard what you did with the forest na’vi, leave! You only bring death and sorrow wherever you go”.
The tension was building fast among the other people. Mothers protecting their children, might warriors standing in front of the weak. Any wrong move and she might end up dead. Which is a high factor.
The crowd breaks as two significant looking na’vi walks through, from how they are dressed and the others willing to step aside, the human knew exactly who they were.
And it gave her excitement. Already the first and she is seeing so much!
The human was quick with the traditional na’vi greeting of “I see you”. In hopes that the tension can lessen if she displays their ways.
The Tsahik and Olo’eyktan looked at her carefully. Observing her every move and detail. Small hint of disgust but also confusion as to why a human is here.
“Hello, I bring no harm. I am here to learn your ways. Allow me to prove myself to you, perhaps you have heard of the dark stories of what the humans did to other na’vi, but I promise you that I only bring peace. Please, teach me your ways”.
Tumblr media
Ronal doesn't know what or how or even why. But after a lengthy discussion with Tonowari, they granted the human permission to enter their home. And learn their ways. As best a human can learn. While Tonowari was more loose on letting the human in, Ronal felt different, at first she came defensive and was always on alert should the human do something that seems bad under her eyes.
But the human was aware where the line drew, only did what she was allowed to and dared not to push boundaries. Ronal wasn't making it any easier for the human. None whatsoever. In fact, Ronal planned to make things so difficult for the human that she would have no other choice but to leave.
Now if only it worked that, and not Ronal making it harder for herself.
Tumblr media
“Put more strength in your arms. It must be thinned out and easy to separate. Any thicker and it will be difficult to mix” Ronal instructed the human with a harsh tone. She was teaching the human how to make crushed, thin, dust-like green material. Very dry leaves that were thoroughly picked from their small forest.
The human woman smiled and obeyed, “alright tsahik”. Doing exactly what she is being told. That is the thing that irks ronal. The human doesn't fight back. She doesn't do anything!
“A child can do a better job than you,” Ronal says with a snarky tone. The human just takes it, “I don't doubt it. This is more of their ways” the human replies with such calmness in her voice. Not a hint of anger, impatience, nothing.
“Dont think this will be enough, there is still much more to grind down” Ronal says, as she places a lot more dried grass in the already big pile. The human stops for a few seconds to look at the bigger addition. Ronal smirks, surely this will be it? “Guess I better grind faster to finish all of these” the human says in glee and continues to grind.
Ronal’s smirk left her lips, fine then. Tomorrow will be worse.
Tumblr media
Harsher insults, harsher training, harsher practice. Ronal threw everything at the human, but nothing breaks the human girl. And it infuriates her to the core. Why wasn't she fighting back? Why was she accepting everything? Why was she letting ronal belittle her?
Ronal’s anger grew to where Tonowari had to enterfier.
“Ronal, perhaps you are pushing her too far?” he asks her one day. Ronal scoffs as she does her small tasks in their home. “The human can bare it. Anything I give her, she accepts. That utter fool” she replies. Annoyance heavy on her tone. “She won't break so easily. Not made of sea glass” she continues.
Tonowari sighs, walks up to her and places a hand on her shoulder. “Perhaps not, but your tolerance is thinner than these fibers. Perhaps by surprise, it will be you who will break first”.
Tumblr media
The human began to make and wear her na’vi like clothing to fit in more. And as she talked more with the other clan members, more began to welcome her with open arms and even into their homes. Adapting more into their culture and ways of life. They began to accept her.
Ronal wasn't so ready to accept the human.
Not yet at least.
One night, after the communal dinner, Ronal took the human away from the noise and into a more quiet part of the small forest. Yet, along the way, the human not once asked where they were going. Never questioned ronal’s actions, her odd behavior. Nothing.
When they arrived at a beautiful blue glowing waterfall, Ronal kept a bit of distance from the human.
“Tell me human, why do you accept?” Ronal asks after a few minutes of silence.
The human blinked once, “accept what tsahik?”.
Hissing in frustration, Ronal turns to look at the human in anger.
“Why do you accept everything?! I keep pushing you to do beyond what you physically can. Accept any insulting word I give you. Force you to do things clearly you are not very comfortable with. Why do you accept my harsh treatment towards you?”
The human sees Ronal and sees how she truly feels. Taking a deep breath, relaxing her shoulders, the human does what she does best.
Give her an honest smile.
“You have every right to treat me that way. While I am not personally responsible for the thousands of killings of the na’vi, I still feel ashamed and guilty as if it were my own crimes. My kind has treated your kind terribly. So, I understand if you feel any anger or hatred towards me for simply being human. But I accept, I accept it all. If it means to be part of your world, your clan. I would gladly accept anything you throw at me. This is a dream come true for me. This planet, the life it holds. The environments, plants, animals, you. I love and respect everything about your world. All I desire is to learn how things are. From learning about Eywa to learning of the na’vi ways. My only desire is to learn. To have you personally teach me, it is a high luck I could never get anywhere else. So that is why I accept all that you give me. A price to pay for the things I can see and experience. So Tsahik, that is why I accept it. As my way to thank you”
Ronal saw the human, looking deep into her eyes to detect any lies, but all she saw was the truth.
“You fool…”
Tumblr media
“Irayo, just in time for breakfast” Ronal welcomes her human friend. Irayo, that is what Ronal calls her ever since that night. It's been stuck to her ever since, not that she plans to defy the tsahik wishes.
Irayo sits in the home of ronal and tonowari. Accepting the food, she begins to eat. But not soon after, she felt a little tug from her wrist. Looking down, Irayo sees little tsireya playfully tugging at her bracelet. Taking it off, she hands it to tsireya who tries to bite down on it.
“Has tsireya began teething?” Irayo asks, ronal nods but gives a disapproving look.
“She will rip off the beads. You worked so hard to make it for us” Ronal says as she points to her own matching bracelet. Irayo laughs, “that is fine. It will give me an excuse to make better friendship brackets for us. I will even make another for cute little tsreiya” Irayo replies as she playfully pinches tsireya’s chubby cheeks, making the child squeal in delight.
Tonowari sits down to join them.
“Today irayo and I will attend to the elderly, tsireya will be under your care until noon” Ronal says to him.
Tonowari nods, but couldn't help but smirk a bit. Leaning in, he whispers into Ronal’s ear. “Your friendship with irayo has improved greatly. I still remember when you called her many foolish names”.
Ronal rolls her eyes and taps his forehead lightly.
“I recall no such things. Irayo has been my good friend from the start”
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaand that is all for this one! I hope you all enjoyed this fic! Until next time, see ya!

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
When Neteyam returned to Eywa’s embrace, as his mate, you felt the world had turned gray. The tsawke no longer shines, the eclipse had become a lot colder without his presence by your sides. Oftentimes, you would wake up with your face full of tears, not even remembering what you have dreamt before. You’d sit alone in the shore of awa’atlu, hoping that after blinking he’d still be standing in the water, playing with Tuk and Kiri. You’d sing his songchord every morning, savoring the bittersweet taste in your tongue as you call his name.
Neytiri understood your pain, as she would join you in singing his song. A mother and a wife who both lost a big chunk of their heart. She’d lull you back to sleep every time you wake up in distress, calling for Neteyam’s name, begging him to stay. She’d cry with you, and you’d look at her face that resembles him so much, and you’d cry even further.
Everyone is mourning in their own ways, even those who loves to laugh and too innocent for this world had turned silent, crying when she misses her older brother.  At times, you’d wake up and ask yourself, why still go on? Why keep living when your lifeline had already left you behind? What’s the point of deluding yourself that you can keep going, when’s he’s the only reason you’re fighting?
You thought nothing could be more devastating than this. Waking up knowing the space beside you will no longer be warm, no arms to hold your waist, no lips to whisper sweet nothings to your ears as you bask in bliss. You thought nothing could destroy you how his passing had shattered you to pieces.
“You’re with a child,”
The sinking feeling in your stomach became an abyss that swallowed you whole. Just when you’re about to be free, he shackled you to life of pain once again.
“N-no! It can’t b-be! Please tell me its not true!” You let out a wail, pain tearing through you as you call for him. Neytiri cried with you, hugging you as you flail in disbelief. She’s trying to calm you down, but how can you? How can you calm down knowing that another child in his world would live without a father? How can you calm down knowing that he’ll never be there to teach your child the way of the world?
How can you care for another life when you’re barely able to stop the crumbling of your own?
“They said that pregnant na’vis will always be in constant pain, and the only way to ease the pain is to have tsaheylu.’Teyam, I’m scared…”
“I’d always be there, yawne. You do not have to be afraid.”
“Liar…he’s a liar, LIAR!” You screamed as you continued hitting your stomach. You want it out. It cannot live. It cannot!
“______ please, stop! Please, i’m begging you!”
He said he’ll always be there with you every step of the way. He said he’d never abandon you. He said not even death could take him away from you. When he was kissing you he’d whisper that he’ll do everything to be with you forever, that he will never make you experience pain and sadness. But he’s simply a liar. He abandoned you. He made you feel pain worse than death. All of the things he said were lies. He left you to deal with the world of pain, leaving you alone in this dark world.
And now, he even left you a child. How cruel, Neteyam. How cruel of you.
Why did you leave me alone? How can you do this to me? Don’t you love me? When you promised me an eternity you didn’t say you wouldn’t be there with me. When you promised me a big family, you said you’d build them with me.
But now i’m alone. With this child you left behind.
Just when I was about to follow you, you gave me another reason to stay living in this world of agony.

Title: Heat 2
Pairings: Na’vi Reader (23) x Neteyam (24)
Warnings ⚠️: MDNI
Contains: oral, p in v, rough sex,
Word Count: 1953
Tumblr media
You find yourself drenched in sweat, letting out groans of discomfort, with your back pressed firmly against the tree trunk as you pull your knees towards your chest. Leaning heavily against the tree, you bury your head in your knees, familiar waves of heat washing over you once more.
This time, you're isolated, the distant bickering of the two brothers echoing in the background. A pang of guilt strikes you; you were meant to be hunting, not the subject of their disagreement. You despise being in a vulnerable position, the center of attention, especially when it renders you unable to take control of the situation.
“Bro, we can’t just leave her here while we get help.” Lo’ak muttered under his breath, peering behind his brother to catch a glimpse of you.
"We both run the risk of being captivated by her pheromones," Neteyam mutters angrily, the echoes of your moans engraved into his mind.
“Boys-“ a sudden static like sound erupted from the comms.
“Dad! Where are you?!” Neteyam blurted out turning away from Lo’ak. “It is Y/N is uh- she’s not looking so good, we gotta get her home or well away.”
“What’s wrong?” Jake’s voice could be heard but broken, interrupted by the static.
“She’s in heat.” Lo’ak said, pressing two fingers to his throat, still peering at you. This time you’re bent over in pain. Drenched in sweat everything clung to your skin. Your body was getting hotter, almost feverish, when your eyes met his, looking at him longliy to take this pain away.
He quickly averted his eyes to Neteyam.
“Dad, you gotta hurry.” Neteyam expressed.
“Don’t do anything stupid! Lo’ak start a fire, I’ll search for the smoke from the canopy tops.”
Neteyam glared at his brother.
“Fine, I’ll go make the fire Neteyam, but you need to check on her, you can’t just leave her there.”
“Fine.”
“Brother she’s missing.” Said a slightly panicked Lo’ak.
“What do you mean missing? You lost her?”
She’s not there but we can track her.
“How?!”
We can smell her.
You navigate through the forest, seeking the nearby stream you had previously marked. Your sole purpose: finding something to alleviate the heat that threatens to induce hallucinations. The gentle murmur of running water grows louder as you draw nearer. Eventually, you reach the stream's end, where it widens into a shallow creek, ideal for a refreshing soak at knee height. Stripping off your garments, you brush bits of leaves from your scorched skin. Finally alone, you take the opportunity to relieve yourself before embarking on your return journey. Although you should have informed them, you realize you're only minutes away from where they are. Now unclothed, you step into the creek.
The frigid water now soothing your azure skin, you rest on the creek bed, leaning against its edge with your knees drawn close to your chest. A sigh of relief escapes your lips as the cold water brushes against your nipples, riling you up once more.
Without hesitation, you sprawl yourself to reach to touch your sweet spot. A moan escapes your lips, while you lean your head back onto the mossy green grass, you hair sticking to bits of your cheeks, and shoulders. You’re a flushed mess, with your hands now rubbing and thrusting yourself, while the other tugs and pull at your nipples, you moans grown louder as you’re desperate to make yourself cum. Your movements quicken as you aggressively thrust into yourself, bucking your hips above water when your eyes suddenly shoot open at the snap of a twig.
You stop as you realize you’re being watched. The brothers had found you, their green eyes glowing among the foliage of the forest. It didn’t them long to find you, your scent was overpowering and pungent, but your vulnerable state was so captivating they couldn’t look away.
Upon realization, your mind wanted to hide away in embarrassment but your body refused to stop. You continued to pleasure yourself, now one hand on your clit and the other in your sopping hole. They gawked as you laid there in the creek sprawled, Lo’ak looked down to see himself growing under his loincloth, he growled under his breath, jaw clenched. He wanted to have you so badly.
“I need to help her.” He said huskily.
"No, we found her. Go light the fire," Neteyam commanded his brother, who stubbornly refused to move. "Now!" he insisted.
Lo'ak huffed in annoyance before finally turning away. You continued to moan in pleasure as you feel yourself coming. Throwing you head back exposing your neck. Neteyam couldn’t help but trail your body with his eyes.
A fleeting sense of calm washed over you, but you could sense it wouldn't last long. The respite just didn't feel the same when it was Lo'ak who brought you to climax. As you glanced up, you noticed Neteyam standing among the shrubs, closer to the creek, silently observing you, attentively listening to every sound. “Nete, please, I need you.”
He scoffed. "You want to try the other brother now? Lo'ak wasn't good enough?" Taken aback by his cold response, you stood up angrily, water dripping from your naked body.
“Is that what you think of me now?” you huffed, “fine act righteous then, like you weren’t thinking of fucking me moments ago.”
Within moments, Neteyam growled, storming towards you as you rose from the shallow creek, challenging him with your defiance, in your naked glory.
Neteyam snatched you by your neck, hissing exposing his fangs. You smirked. You knew his reaction was not out of disappointment but more of jealously. You looked down to see his boner, causing your smirk to grow.
“Looks like you still wanna fuck me,” He releases you from his hold when he realizes you can readhim.
That's when your scent intensifies once more. His eyes grow darker, and hooded, now scanning your care body, you observe him in his current state. He was always calm and collected, hardly showing emotion, but today, right now, you felt so proud to be the source of his riled up behaviour.
“Nete-”
Before you can finish his name he turns towards you crashing his lips onto yours. Taken aback slightly you stumble back into the water. His hands roam you touching every crevice and curve of your body, you instantly kiss him back. Feeling the heat returning once more. His lips leave yours to now abuse your neck, moving lower to your breasts and soon he is kneeling in front of kissing your navel and trailing his nose down to your bud.
You stop. Your eyes meet. You’ve never seen him so hungry before. Still kneeling in the shall creek while you stand before him he tosses your leg over his shoulder, grabbing your ass to stabilize you while your other leg remained sanding on the creek, he tugged at your folds with his tongue.
You gasp as the sudden touch, your body going numb as all the blood rushes to your clit. He starts off gentle but soon is aggressively sucking and lapping at your cunt. You moan, as you grab a fist full of his braids, pressing him further into you as he devours you.
The knot in your stomach grows and he now hums satisfactorily as if he could sense that you’re near. He suddenly stops, looking up to you, and your eyes meet. You gasp as he now plunges his thick fingers into you, curling upwards to send you over your edge. Within seconds your juices are spraying as you scream his name, al while he just watches you. Loving the control he has over your vulnerable state.
“Don’t worry y/n, I’m not done with you.”
In one swift motion Neteyam pulls you on top of him. Straddling him, you can feel his thick member pressing against your bare cunt shielded by his loincloth. You’re bodies slightly submerged by the shallow creek, he states as you intensely before he bucks his hips up. You wince as the friction slowly starts to rile you up, your clit, begging for more.
Another buck, you breath hitches, your mouth forming a small O as you begin to redden from embarrassment. Aware of this, he leans back, bracing his back to the edge of the creek moving his arms to cradle the back of his while he takes you in. His breathing is definitely faster, and his eyes are darker but he is determined to show you he is in control regardless of how enticing you smell.
His self control is rather humbling as you catch on of his game of cat and mouse. Yes, you both are biologically compelled towards each other but he is determined to make you beg. He moves harshly again, and then shift once more, each movement making your core grow hotter.
He huffs at your state “looks like you want me to fuck you y/n” he smirks.
You snapped. You needed to get off again and you need to get off now. You hover over him sightly ripping his lion cloth off. A flash of shock surfaces on his face. His bulging member springs up as you take it and grasping it firmly at the base. Your sudden roughness makes him groan at your touch. As you pump his member you lean in for a kiss to which Neteyam does nothing. Keeping his movements still he watches you as you lean towards him. Your lips slightly pressed against his and he is overtaken b the tension. Like an animal snapping back into a trance, Neteyam passionately presses his lips onto yours. You moan into the kiss as you pump his cock. He grabs you firmly by the waist causing you to grip onto his shoulders for stability. Breaking the kiss he lifts you over his throbbing veiny cock before he mercilessly plunges his full length into you. It sends shockwaves through your body as he stretches you. He hoists you up once more to only slam you back down onto him. Your eyes roll back as he repeats the motion you legs soon begin to tremble.
“How does it make you feel y/n?” he whispers huskily now, pressed up against you his fangs grazing on your collar bone. You moans growing louder.
“Goood.” You hum.
“Do I fuck you better?”
You say nothing, you continue to hum, you can hear the squelches that come from bot of you. He does feel bigger than his brother, much more girthier, he also seems a bit more experienced, which was rather shocking, giving that Lo’ak was known for his philandering ways.
He stops suddenly. And now you’re mindlessly bouncing trying to fuck yourself, but he grips onto your hips firmly. Stopping you from moving. You refuse to stop movement as you circle your hips, whining on his member. He gasps, you can tell he is also near.
“Neteyam pleasssee.” You beg.
“Not until you answer me.” His hand now griping onto your face, causing you both to lock eyes.
Desperate for more you breathed out a heavy yes.
“I didn’t hear that y/n”
“YEEESSSS! You fuck me bettteeerr!” you screamed grinding into him.
“He loosens his grip, now digging his hands into the sandy creek, he fucks you form under, pounding into you mercilessly. You throw you head back, making your back arch, and your perky breast bounce. Within seconds your cumming, and soon after he follows, your juices mixing together as he groans in pleasure .
“AHEM, so much for not doing anything stupid.” Lo’ak remarked.
You look up to see the other Na’vi standing among the foliage. “Dad is on his way.” His jaw clenched but voice remained indifferent. You both spring off of each other attempting to clothed yourselves. An all too familiar feeling for you. You sighed wondering what you’ve gotten yourself into.
Tumblr media

Uh-oh! I think you're holding the heart of mine!
Synopsis ! You should have known better than to love someone so cruel.
Content and warning: Ao'nung x Reader! Ao'nung is a mean IDIOT, his friends too. BULLIES >:[ he comes around tho (2.6k words of angst to comfort hahah)
Tumblr media
You’ve been in love with Ao’nung since you were little kids, always trailing behind like a second shadow and mimicking even the smallest gestures. To you, he was the sun; so bright and achingly alluring, but like the sun, he was cruel— oh so cruel. He’d burn you every chance he gets and you’d take it willingly, grateful for even the slightest touch of warmth.
You never took it to heart. Never. This was a challenge that you’ve accepted with great pride thinking that you could crack his mean demeanor; you were convinced that the reason he had this seemingly tough exterior was because he was future clan leader— of course he needed to be strong. It would be bad for his image to falter, let alone to a girl who held no title whatsoever. You were nobody.
Tsireya would say otherwise. though. She was your number one supporter; always urging you to do better and to continue with your cute antics towards his brother. She knows you’d be great for him— heck, you were the only one she deemed suitable for Ao’nung. How could she not think so? You were a great hunter, always quick on your feet and vigilant. On top of that, you were resilient. You never knew when to give up.
You were believed to have been loved, regardless of his very actions. You remember crying to Tsireya one afternoon, showing her the graze on your forearm. The sight of it alarmed her— anything bloodied, even in the smallest of form would worry any kid so she rushed you to her mother.
Ronal cooed while she tended to your wound and you unconsciously poured your heart out about how Ao’nung had pushed you harshly down the sand, scraping your skin on scattered rocks in the process. His friends had laughed at you, pointing their fingers to your fragile form, cowering.
“Maybe he’s being aggressive because he likes you back!” Tsireya reasons, oblivious to what really was the case— but you were only kids, rough housing and games like these were normal so you didn’t know any better either. You wiped your runny nose and took a deep breath.
“You really think so?” and still you were hopeful.
Tsireya nodded enthusiastically, taking your hands near her chest. Ronal softly smiled, rubbing your back in soothing circles. “I’m sorry about Ao’nung, ma __. I’ll be sure to give him a good scolding later when he gets home.”
“And who knows, maybe he does like you. Boys just don’t like to talk about their feelings.” What Ronal said only burned your hopes higher— encouraging your heart to push for a longer run.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t always like this. You and him were best of friends, inseparable and kind. You were a trio along with Tsireya and you absolutely loved spending time with them; swimming, exploring the ocean– being kids. Ever since, you knew he was the one, almost like it was the great mother’s own will. The feelings blossomed every spent time with him and you cherished it wholeheartedly.
“You should eat plenty so that you grow up to be strong, Ao’nung!” You’d force bits of fish near his lips, urging him to open up. He was throwing a tantrum after being scolded by Ronal, arms tightly crossed and refusing to eat anything. “I don’t want a lanky mate!”
And of course it had been a joke. You’d love him regardless of what he looked like and you knew it, but it was so forward of you and it would always catch him off guard. His cheeks would burn bright red and he’d turn into a stuttering mess.
“Mate?” He asked incredulously which you returned with an eager nod. ”That’s grown up talk! Don’t say things like that until we’re older.”
“You’re gonna have so many pretty children!” Tsireya would comment and you both would squeal, oblivious to the frantic young boy.
After he had started to train, Ao’nung was naturally introduced to other warriors. He fit in perfectly. As much as you were happy for him, that was also when things took a turn and before you know it, it was only you and Tsireya left.
Ao’nung thought that what you had for him would be harmless– a silly crush your young heart couldn’t comprehend yet, but you had now grown into a fine woman and the said love had developed just as much. The people weren’t blind to see how you’ve matured so beautifully– but the men your age knew better than to even try to talk to you. Everyone knew you had eyes for Ao’nung and him only, and the way he grew himself had women dote for him.
It drove him crazy; the sly comments, the lingering touch, the gifts– your very presence. He didn’t know how to handle it, so when his heart beat turned frantic everytime, he’d call it frustration. How his face would burn, how his chest would tighten. Ao’nung was conflicted and his mother was right– boys don’t like to talk about their feelings and he never will.
He’d push you away harshly. Snapping the countless bracelets you’ve carefully crafted for him, embarrassing you regardless of eyes watching, and belittled you any chance he gets. Every woman would cry there and then, immediately running off in embarrassment– but you stayed everytime and it infuriated him. Ao’nung couldn’t shake you off, even if you weren’t around. You were everywhere he went, even in dreams.
You sat with him as he sharpened his fishing spear, not even sparing a glance at your presence. “Oel ngati kameie, Ao’nung.”
The silence didn’t falter you. In fact, it was inviting you to continue. You were surprised he hadn’t even got up to leave so you gratefully took the opportunity and handed him a present wrapped in leaves. He dropped his weapon and begrudgingly took it, opening it in one go.
It was a pretty tie with various beads along the strings. His hair was sometimes unruly and he disliked braiding it, so you figured you’d make him something to wear. For a minute, he stared, admiring it– but the way your smile grew every second had embarrassed him. Ao’nung snickered, throwing it carelessly on the ground and you immediately scrambled to look for it.
“I’m not interested.” He emphasized every word as if he tried to make you understand, harshly kicking the sand towards your kneeling body. Ao’nung left and you could only stare with a sigh.
So maybe this time, you were to blame. After all the years he’d push you away, embarrass you in front of his friends, you were still the same stupid shell of a girl who thought he had finally changed– he had finally cracked and you were confident. It was afternoon when they approached you, asking for your presence while they hunted further the reefs. Ao’nung had asked you– Ao’nung.
Nothing else mattered, not even the obvious snickers from the background. You nodded enthusiastically, tripping on your heels as you hurriedly ran back home to get ready. They had already mounted their Ilu when you returned and without a word, you followed them.
So maybe this time, you were to blame. You should’ve known better than to be so trusting– so gullible and naive. Night was approaching quickly and Ao’nung or any of his friends were nowhere to be seen. The thrashing waves would unmercifully shove your small body on the very rock that helped you keep afloat, its harsh and sharp edges scratching your skin. The ocean was reprimanding you, you’ve concluded after trying to hold on for hours– the blame was yours and yours only. Stupid, stupid girl.
They had left you and this time, you knew well enough it had been their intention.
They were laughing back at shore, applauding themselves for a successful prank. You were to return later all disheartened and the sight would be the cherry on top, but Ao’nung grew restless every minute. This was wrong and he knew that well.
His friends had already bid their goodbyes but he stood there, waiting. He started to walk in circles while fidgeting his fingers– something was wrong. Perhaps it was a sibling thing for Tsireya to start feeling uneasy as well, so she excused herself from her mother and seeked for his brother. It wasn’t hard to find him and when she did, her panic only worsened as she approached him.
“What’s wrong, brother?” Tsireya asked, eyebrows knitted together.
“__” He immediately answered, “__ is outside the reef.”
Tonowari and a few warriors immediately ventured out to search for you. Tsireya couldn't even be enraged at his brother as she was busy worrying herself– but Ronal was a different case. She had been biting his ear off the very moment he told her what happened but Ao’nung easily tuned her out, only hearing his rapid heartbeat.
It felt like forever, but the moment his father had returned, he ran towards him straight away. There you were, a warrior propping you up gently as you limped. You were bloodied and out of breath– he winced at the cuts coating your skin. Before he could even approach you, you had flinched.
The look you gave him made him shudder. It was so unlike you to look at him differently, so empty and void of any admiration. Suddenly, his throat was awfully parched and he was entirely unmoving– all the apologies that were begging to be spat out from the tip of his tongue, gone. You stood there, staring with your teary doe eyes.
His presence made you nauseous and you would’ve cowered in instinct, if not for the warrior’s hold on your shoulders. You could’ve died– you almost did; you were already slipping and numb.
Your parents had immediately ran to you, crying as they held you near. They rushed your weary body to Ronal in a heartbeat. The clan spoke in whispers as Tonowari dispersed the growing crowd.
Ao’nung could only watch at your retreating figure. He visibly gulped. This was it, he thought, this was what he wished for.
And it had only hurt him terribly.
Tumblr media
He stayed near the hut regardless and heard how you whimpered– how you’d sniffle and cry. The paste burned against your skin and you couldn’t help but squirm. You felt so ugly, so humiliated and little.
Ronal finally walks out, the sound of the flap waking Ao’nung’s drowsy state. “Mother, how is she?” He receives only a scornful glare as she walks past him.
“Mother, please.”
“I am deeply disappointed in you, Ao’nung” She said, clearly holding back. The tsahik sighed, “but for her sake, I will save you from any more scolding. It is what she asks for.”
And it was so like you to think of him before yourself. It applied more pressure on his already beaten heart and he could only drop his head in shame. This was his fault and he had to face the consequences he so begged for all these years– so where did this sickening desire to hold you close come from? It was bittersweet on his tongue and no water could get rid of the taste.
Tumblr media
“I know that look, brother.” Tsireya didn’t have to glance to see his troubled state. It’s been days– no, weeks. He couldn’t get to you; skilfully blending in with your surroundings and out his sight, scurrying quickly towards another direction– it was clear you wanted nothing to do with him.
It pained him– absolutely shattered him to pieces.
“I can’t reach her, Tsireya.” His frown deepens as he frustratingly tugged on his hair.
“And you will never again!” Ao’nung flinched. As much as Tsireya enjoyed the torment of his brother, she still rooted for the both of you– still standing firm with the fact that you’d do good for him, but she thought of you and knew you also deserved better. With a dejected sigh, she whispers,  “If.. you don’t hurry.”
“Her hideout. Now. Go make things right.” Tsireya hoped she was doing the right thing.
Ao’nung darted in a heartbeat– disrupting the busy clan and accidentally bumping into them. He couldn’t waste any time anymore, he had to get to you or else he’d forever hold his peace. Every step he took was an image of you with someone else; someone else willing to make you happy, someone else to be your mate.
And he hated that. It only fueled him to go faster, eventually reaching a pond surrounded by trees. The place was hidden and only the three of you knew where it was located– it was your safe place.
There you were, relaxed and unknowing. It was cruel like this; for Eywa to strikingly illustrate you in a different light– in a different point of view, or perhaps it had never changed and he just chose to never look at you the way he’s staring now. You were absolutely beautiful, basking in the glow of the dusk. The water swayed you gently and the calm on your face was inviting.
This was his only chance.
Ao’nung approached you, allowing the water to swallow him near you. He called out your name in a whisper and you immediately turned to him in surprise. Before he could even get another word out, you tried to hoist yourself up to escape, but he was quick to grab your wrist.
You hissed in return, his touch burning the healing cuts on your skin. “You don’t get to be sorry.”
You had turned your back on him and only then did he see the same tie that you tried to give him around your hair. It was gut-wrenching– the taste of his own medicine.
“I knew you wanted me off your skin, but I didn’t realize you wanted me gone.” And he knew what you meant, immediately wincing at the thought.
“I’m sorry, __” The apology came out almost in a desperate manner. Ao’nung was aching to touch you– to hug you close. He was willing to apologize forever, if it meant that you’d finally turn around and look at him, but when you did, his body went rigid and he wanted to swallow his words. “Fuck, I’m so sorry.”
You were crying and you looked everywhere but him. He took a step forward and when you didn’t retreat, he took the chance to hold your cheek, caressing it with his thumb. You absolutely hated it– hated him. Even after everything, he was warm. “You don’t get to be sorry.”
“How could you be so,” You hit his chest harshly, the water splashing along your movements, “How could you be so mean?”
“I am young, __” Ao’nung softly said, his eyes on you unmoving. “Young and absolutely stupid.”
“Damn right you are.”
He let out a breathy chuckle. “I never had anyone love me the way you do. Anyone who paid me any mind wanted me for my status– they only wanted the olo'eyktan’s son.”
You turned your head with a click of a tongue, only for him to grab your chin to look at him again. Of course you never wanted him because of his or his parent’s title– you loved him genuinely and he was a coward to not see that. His expression was nothing but sincere and you hated it.
“I am young and stupid, __, so please.” He takes another step forward and you were sure the small gap between your bodies had cut your inability to breathe. The water had gone cold and you couldn’t move. You stayed there, looking up at him. “Let me grow old with you and I promise to be wiser.”
“I see you, __.”

Subject that human!Lo’ak doesn’t like ?
MATH. ANY type – algebra, geometry, calculus, precalculus – human!Lo’ak might be shit at it
Or rather, people THINK he’s not very good at it — geometry, algebra, calculus, precalculus, anything math related — and he even believes that he is not good at it because he just lets others’ opinions get to him
It isn’t precisely that he doesn’t like the subject - it just has too many numbers, strategies, and – letters???
I’m sure he’s the type to think once he sees letters involved in an equation that he will be very, very dubious and not at all try to solve it.
“Why can’t you just let numbers have their own category and leave the fucking alphabet out of it bro-”
HOWEVER, if he does try, he comprehend and is actually very good at it.
Very smart, just people think him to not be “Neteyam smart” that it pisses him off, drains him, then he doesn’t give a shit in trying anymore
Leave the poor guy alone though, he tries his best and is VERY INTELLIGENT.
… I see Lo’ak being into video games — try tearing the guy away from a game console.
Human!Lo’ak is that guy during gaming nights—loud, animated, and absolutely relentless. He’ll trash-talk like there’s no tomorrow, but he’s the first to cheer everyone up if they lose.
From COD to Minecraft and Fortnite and NBA2k24 and Roblox and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
it is freaking WAR when the entire family plays Mario Kart.
Just imagine that. Paint the picture, folks.
Don’t want to? Fine, I’ll more than gladly paint it.
I think while Neytiri thinks and finds video games to be stupid, she overhears Lo’ak saying she just sucks and is scared to lose.
It may be war with the entire family playing, but it is scorching HELL when she’s playing only against him.
Even Jake sheds a sweat, and he’s already out of the round.
Kiri, who didn’t really want to play to begin with, actually perks up a bit while sitting on the sofa, even cheering and siding with her mom
Tuk would be that one person who doesn’t know who to cheer for so she’s cheering for them all —
Best believe momma Neytiri is gonna beat the shit out that game though.
And a rolling on the floor while sobbing Lo’ak too after savoring her victory.
Jake is so proud to call her his wife akakkssklksls
Oh, and COD, call of duty, is definitely his father-son bonding time with Jake. They’re a badass duo when playing a match— it’s like the one of the rare times that they’re on the same page and Jake’s giving him compliments back to back—
Prides himself with all them compliments, even rubs it in Neteyam’s face who would just smirk and roll his eyes but let his little brother have his enjoyment
Human!Lo’ak probably teaches Tuk how to play video games —
While he’s doing his own thing she probably goes into his room and plays on his computer or X-box.
Tuk will definitely get him to play other games like Stumble Guys or download apps on his phone that he pretends not to like but secretly plays them on his own.
tuk : “hey how did I get 1st on the leaderboard??”
She’s not complaining tho —
Also, plays Roblox a LOT with Tuk, Kiri, and if Neteyam is not busy with his own thing, even him.
Group chat between the Sullys, Spider, Ao’nung, Tsireya, and Rotxo.
When they all play roblox, it gets wild.
Human!Lo’ak definitely gets banned for a week from the dumb shit he be saying with Ao’nung — even sometimes Neteyam.
“Mom, you’ll never believe why Lo’ak got banned from [👠HEELS baddies]”
“Kiri, shut up! — ”
One time invited Tsireya to play rainbow friends with Tuk
Tsireya would be sobbing as to why her crush / boyfriend and his little sister play such things —
Human!Lo’ak is intelligent— VERY intelligent but like … chooses not to use that intelligence quite often and wounds up in trouble?
Definitely let’s intrusive thoughts take over.
He’s washing the dishes, holds a spoon, stares at it for awhile before putting it under the water when already knowing it’s gonna create a whole frigging waterfall.
Human!Lo’ak is very goofy — this very natural charm that’s almost so ridiculous?
But, human!Lo’ak has the best sense of humor, naturally funny — can make one laugh with anything.
If he heard someone try to crack a joke that’s not exactly funny, he pats them in the back and just gives them a small smile and laugh. “Bro— you tried.”
Acknowledges the joke though, because he know how it feels to be in awkward situations and how it feels to go by ignored.
And if he heard someone make a joke that makes someone uncomfortable or is just something mean and stupid, he looks at them with a ‘wtf’ stare, or looks at them as if they’re high and tells them to shut up.
Definitely had an Xxxtencion phase, a Captain Underpants phase, a Dog Man phase, and a Rocket Raccoon phase.
Human!Lo’ak tries and pretty much is caught up with the latest rap music — he vibes to it.
Give this guy some Afrobeats — he thinks he’s the shit
Human!Lo’ak would be randomly bursting to song in Neteyam’s perplexed face or Kiri’s annoyed face while Tuk sings along with him and makes the identical face Lo’ak makes.
I’m certain human!Lo’ak discreetly listens to K-Pop.
Kiri and Tsireya — even Rotxo gets him into it.
“What’re you guys even listening to? This is so lame.”
Meanwhile, his AirPod is blasting ‘Cherry bomb’ by NCT 127 —
Oh my gosh, Kiri would be listening to “House of Cards (Full Length Edition)” in her room and Lo’ak could come in to ask her some random ass shit while the main part of the song is playing, and he could be getting into some body rolls to go along with the song’s rhythm.
Meanwhile, Kiri’s just sobbing in the corner because of the meaning behind the song — (iykyk)
Very much The Neighbourhood and Chase Atlantic coded.
Even Bryson Tiller — he can vibe to SZA too.
Definitely yells the lyrics to her SOS album — especially Open Arms to Tsireya as he holds her face in hands, singing Travis Scott’s part to her.
Meanwhile poor cutie is just confused but is allowing him to express himself in however way he needs to, lmao
Sprinkles of Bruno Mars and Coldplay. Ali Gatie, Arctic Monkeys and MANESKIN too in his taste of music ( just my opinion —)
Human!Lo’ak loves snacks and always seems to have a stash of chips, candy, or homemade treats. He’s also the one who combines weird flavors (“Trust me, it’s good!”) and gets surprisingly defensive about his food experiments.
I also feel he can be one of those guys that can eat 5 cheese burgers, yet also remains shockingly toned and fit?
While going to the gym is somewhat a priority for him, he might skip leg day here and there. ( regrets it tho, Kiri could make fun of his skinny legs. Even Neytiri tries to feed him more.)
Human!Lo’ak enjoys adventure. Growing up close to the land (thanks to Jake and Neytiri’s influence), he has a deep respect for the outdoors.
I think while he enjoys his video games and playing sports ( see him doing basketball and baseball. Would even try soccer ) he likes departing from that for a bit and wants to go exploring.
Wether it be around the neighborhood, a random Walmart, the park, forest, hiking
He has a hobby for photography has a secondhand camera that he takes everywhere, snapping candid photos of his adventures, friends, and the moments that matter to him.
His photos are raw and authentic, capturing life in a way that reflects his love for the untamed.
He’s the type to go to the park and walk with siblings ( spider included ), friends, and while you’re down the path you’re supposed to be following, and if there’s a deep forest to the side he’d definitely be the one to suggest — more so already be doing — to go down there and check out if there’s anything interesting.
He hears a branch break? He’d either be, “nope, why’d you make me do this” or, he’d hold it together and tease the others if their scared when he’s the one secretly crapping himself —
Sensitive.
Human!Lo’ak is definitely sensitive, but chooses to mask the hurt with something harsh or very, very teasing when it’s actually a jab of an insult.
Human!Lo’ak has a loud laugh and loves making others smile with his antics, but he sometimes uses humor as a shield for his insecurities.
He hides the fact that he feels like he doesn’t quite fit in anywhere.
Human!Lo’ak might cry when he’s angry or very frustrated. The browns of his eyes become more clear and their shape more prominent — he looks so much like Neytiri when this occurs.
When human!Lo’ak is alone and he trips over air, he definitely laughs to himself and gives himself a face smack.
Human!Lo’ak’s room is a chaotic blend of random posters, discarded clothes, and half-finished DIY projects. Despite the mess, there’s an undeniable charm to it—it feels alive and uniquely his.
Eats cereal out of the box and drinks milk out of carton — Neytiri smacks him for it while getting Jake to scold him ( even though it’s Jake that taught him how to do that when he was little and ever since has always done it —)
Human!Lo’ak wears the necklaces Tuk makes for him — pretending he doesn’t like them and makes the excuse that they don’t go with his fit, but, he still wears it because why would he not?
At some point him along with the rest of his siblings, including his parents, have matching jewelry because of Tuk
Human!Lo’ak has a phase where he wears Kiri’s old magnetic earrings before she got her ears pierced because he was too scared to get his own pierced.
Eventually he goes and gets them pierced with Kiri who’s getting, like her fourth piercing on her ears —
Human!Lo’ak messes with Kiri just for fun, but he likes hanging out with her — won’t admit it to her of course , but if anyone else bothers her, he’ll beat their behind — no matter if they’re 10 times bigger than him.
Definitely gets introduced to customizing his shit because of Kiri.
From his sneakers to his backpack, Lo’ak loves personalizing his belongings with graffiti-style art, stickers, or patches. Everything he owns reflects his bold and creative personality.
Human!Lo’ak sings at least one of Taylor Swift or Britney Spears’ songs very randomly — or if he hears Tuk singing a Disney song, he’d get into character and dramatically sing along — even if he hears Kiri softly singing to herself, he’d do the same too.
Gets into character, gets a little sassy and does these hand waves.
( kiri definitely records Lo’ak without him noticing and later on sends it to the gc they have with their other friends)
Oh my gosh I’m sure him and Spider had the idea to start a band and join the army, including Neteyam when they were between 7–10
Neytiri, despite thinking Spider might be some kind of bad influence on her kids, allows this — she even records them ‘performing’ when they’re just really banging shit and singing God knows what —
They look so goofy when they try playing soldiers, they’re wearing Jake’s and Quaritch’s old clothes that’s too big for them, but it’s adorable
Human!Lo’ak looks very happy, jumping over Neteyam’s back as his big brother smiles largely and freely, while Spider’s head is hooked beneath Neteyam’s arm with a two-front teeth gone smile, and Kiri’s in the back using the camouflage gear as a way to blend and connect with nature —
Human!Lo’ak is not used to physical touch.
He somewhat shrinks away from it, unless it is from someone he is 100 percent comfortable with.
Physical touch is not a major thing I think is included in his family. Unless it’s something grand.
HOWEVER, I do think when it’s an s/o, he’d like the idea of them being around.
Not entirely PDA, but he would have their arms ‘accidentally’ bump into one another while walking side by side, or s/o catches on, and just lets their arms touch at all times.
100 percent a hopeless romantic.
Human!Lo’ak has a soft spot for love stories, even if he’d never admit it.
He’s the type to scribble cheesy lines in his notebooks and go all-out for someone he cares about, like creating a mixtape or planning a starlit picnic.
Human!Lo’ak was definitely dropped by Jake as a child, so many fucking times to the point where Neytiri did not allow Jake to grab him.
Neytiri dropped him once too though— that was Lo’ak’s fault for squirming too much though, Jake never let her hear the end of it whenever Tuk was born and she was hesitant to let him hold her.
Human!Lo’ak fell off the bed a lot during his nap times as a toddler
Definitely almost accidentally always bangs his head against something 😭
At this point, do not be surprised if he’s in the state of memory loss
Human!Lo’ak definitely let’s put a random screech of anger after doing something that’s so frustrating for a long time
Human!Lo’ak is a magnet to stray animals — they’re practically drawn to his energy.
He’s the type to bring home stray dogs or befriend the random raccoon that keeps raiding the trash.
His family often rolls their eyes, but most definitely find the whole thing amusing.
Tuk goes to school and flexes that her brother is King of Animals —
Neytiri ensures her kids remain connected to their heritage, and human!Lo’ak appreciates it more than he lets on.
He wears small tokens or bracelets that symbolize his culture and finds solace in its traditions, even when he feels out of place.
Human!Lo’ak dreams big, even if he doesn’t know how.
Lo’ak often talks about grand ideas—traveling the world, building a better future, or making a name for himself.
He doesn’t always have a plan, but his enthusiasm is infectious.

Hiii, how are you??
If its okay with you i would like to resquest a platonic yandere of either the Sully's or tonowari family(whichever you prefer) when their youngest child (reader) comes home injuries because of some bullies
How would they react??
(if you can't do it or don't feel comfortable its completely fine)
— 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓼𝓽 𝓰𝓮𝓽𝓼 𝓱𝓾𝓻𝓽 — (sully family, tonowari family x platonic!reader) | separate

requested: yes
pairing: sully familly x gn!reader, tonowari family x gn!reader
tags: platonic, yandere, youngest sibling, youngest child, just a doting family
warnings: lowercase intended, mentions of torture but not elaborated, injuries
a/n: characters are aged up! hi there! i'm doing very well, thank you very much. i just came back from class and i got a few more ask after this so i'm very inspired in making and answering them. hope you enjoy this!
word count: 946
+ gif not mine. ctto.
Tumblr media
sully family:
being the youngest in the sully family has its perks. having 5 protective older siblings i’m adding spider ‘cause i can is fun! y/n has friends to play with them, someone who looks after them when their parents aren’t available, and their life is never boring
but when they came home crying, their knees scraped and bleeding after being pushed by their bullies during the kid’s nursery (i imagine there’s a nursery class that is just the na’vi kids interacting for early socialization in the clan)
their knees hurt, and their elbow also scraped due to the impact of the push, just crying that so, so, and so pushed them during nursery
neytiri was fuming, to say the least. no one messes with her baby. no one
jake was trying to calm his mate, reminding her that those are just kids and they mess up from time to time. it’s the parents you should get mad at because they didn’t raise their kids right
neytiri would then blame the kids’ parents for raising rotten kids that bullied her youngest and would threaten the parents if their kids bully her baby again
jake, on the other hand, would threaten the livelihood of the parents. would hold their family’s place in the clan above their heads and wouldn’t hesitate to banish them. to hell if they get killed by the animals that lurked in the dark
kiri was cleaning up y/n’s booboos while neteyam held his baby sibling
lo’ak plans on tripping said kids by holding his foot out and acting like he didn’t do anything (petty but hey, it’s a small way to get back at the kids)
spider would distract y/n by talling them stories that happened back in the lab. they loved hearing all the sciency human stuff and hearing them from spider was fun and he would probably join lo’ak on the pettiness
tuk was quickly weaving some bracelets to help her baby sibling calm down. she will do anything and everything to help her only baby sibling out
if said bullies had older siblings that are learning to be a warrior or a tsahik, neteyam and kiri would sabotage them. neteyam would destroy the weapons that the siblings had created for the training while kiri would add herbs and slimes that messes up the medicine the siblings would create mo’at gets disappointed at the bullies’ siblings for messing up their works
but, if we say that y/n is younger than lo’ak by a year (around 13) and took tuk’s place as the youngest, that’s another story
jake and neytiri would be the last to know that they’re being bullied by other na’vi’s because y/n begged their siblings to not tell their parents
neteyam and lo’ak would beat those bullies up to a pulp. they didn’t care if their dad would tell them off afterward. what matters is that they don’t get to harm their siblings ever again
kiri would destroy their image if said bullies were training to be a tsahik. she would tell mo’at a lot of things that would slowly hurt their character then, later on, would be told off and not be thought by mo’at
spider would join neteyam and lo’ak at one point but then again, he’s small while teen na’vi’s were hella tall so he becomes neteyam and lo’ak’s hypeman
overall: the sully family wouldn’t mind beating a few na’vi’s up when protecting their youngest. sully’s stick together!
Tumblr media
tonowari family:
y/n is the kid that didn’t have to do much to impress the family. they could just breathe and tonowari would throw a whole feast to celebrate it
ronal is a very doting mother. although a warrior and seen as a very serious tsahik, she would smile whenever she sees her youngest. also very protective. like, super duper protective that no one besides their family can interact with their youngest. if you do, she’d wave your head up on her spear and set it as a reminder to the rest that if you do mess with her youngest, you’ll be next
tonowari is much more doting than ronal but if the softer version. instead of being violent like his mate, he would rather let nature do the violence. why get the blood on your fingers when pandora can do the work? he didn’t want to hold his baby with the blood of their bullies
ao’nung is no different from their mother. but instead of giving the easier end, he would rather beat them up and keep them alive just to prolong to torture. torture = honoring his sibling’s existence
tsireya is the most normal of the bunch. but if she hears that her sibling is messed with, just knows the whole family is coming for their head. she would be with her sibling and distracting them while the family ‘talks’ with said bullies
so when one-day y/n comes home severely injured by her bullies, all hell broke loose
the parents of said bullies were held off by other metkayina’s while they watched ao’nung, rotxo, and a few other of their friends beat up the bullies
ronal was held back by tonowari because if he didn’t, ronal would’ve hurt the parents of the bullies or worse
tonowari eventually forcefully removed the family that tormented his youngest child because if he gives them a chance, his child might get hurt again and he’s not taking that risk
tsireya was tending y/n’s wounds and reassuring them that the bullies won’t hurt them again because their parents will send them away
tdrl: you hurt tonowari and ronal’s youngest, and you leave severely beaten up

Glass. Part 3
Tsireya x Fem!Omaticaya!Reader
Contains: some angst, some comfort finally, implied Avatar: The Way of Water spoilers
Word count: 910
Finally edited lol
Final part! Sorry this took so long, I did not think anyone would see the other two :0 (Also I'm a bit disappointed with this one, might rewrite it in the future lol). Thank you all sm for reading<3 If y'all like this story w/ Tsireya, I'm not sure if my next writing will be a similar concept with another character or a different prompt entirely with Tsireya. Any suggestions? <3
-(Name)'s POV
I cried. I screamed, and cried, and screamed more and kept doing so until my throat was raw and there were no more tears to fall. I have no idea how long we sat there, Tsireya holding me and smoothing my hair down.
I let everything out. I told her how I couldn’t see a way that I could ever fill Neteyam’s role, how I didn’t know how I could even go on without the guidance of my older brother. I told her that I was scared, maybe more scared than I ever had been, and that I was completely lost with no idea what to do next.
And Tsireya held me. She cried with me through some of it, keeping one of her hands firmly pressed against my back, grounding me. When I stopped crying, she eventually moved my head back and wiped the tears from my face.
“(Name). I see you. Your family will guide you, you will be alright. I know that you will do well,” she tells me. I try to protest, but barely get out a word before my voice cracks, tears flooding my eyes yet again.
Tsireya pulls me back into a hug. “I believe in you and I will be here for you. You are my best friend,” she says. Amazingly, through all of the grief of the day, the words ‘best friend’ manage to sting.
She must see my ears go back or something, because she yet again pulls back and looks at my face. Her big eyes look as though they are searching for an answer on my face, and she seems to find it.
“I will always be at your side,” she says.
I bite my lip to keep from sobbing again, and nod. She smiles weakly, nodding as well.
I’m not sure how much longer we sit there, now settled beside each other, leaning back against a large rock and watching the waves. It must’ve been a while, though, because the sky has started getting ever-so-slightly brighter, though the sun isn’t yet rising from the water.
When it gets bright enough that our bioluminescent spots start to dim, yet still before sunrise, Tsireya turns her head slightly, catching my attention. “We might want to get back soon,” she says quietly, still looking out at the water.
I nod my head. “Yeah, that is probably a good idea,” I agree, also quiet. It's like there is a peace that neither of us want to disturb. But when I look over at her, and see the pure, gentle beauty of her face, I find I can't stop myself.
“Tsireya..” I say quietly. She turns to look at me, and when her eyes meet mine, I almost falter. “I think I’m in love with you.”
It felt like the world had stopped. Tsireya’s mouth fell open in a silent gasp, my heart nearly stopped, and even the slight breeze stopped. Neither of us moved for what felt like hours, but then her mouth closed and she frowned slightly.
“(Name)..” She said quietly. I felt like puking. The one person I’m comfortable with, that I know I can trust! Why did I fuck it up? What the hell is wrong with me, Tsireya is the most beautiful girl in Awa’atlu, and the next in line to be Tsahik, why would I ever think-
“I’m worried that you only say that because I comforted you. If you only think you feel that way because you don’t know how else to cope with what’s happened, then..” She trailed off, trying to find more words but ultimately leaving it at that.
What..? Only because she comforted me? Is that what she thinks I meant?
“It is not because you comforted me,” I said, looking away from her as I felt my cheeks burn. “Since we became friends, I believe I have been falling in love with you. You are the kindest, gentlest, and most beautiful person I have ever met.. I have never been able to be vulnerable with people to the extent as I have with you. And seeing the way that you care for my family, showing them patience and respect.. You have stood up for my siblings and I, you have scolded your own brother for calling us freaks.. How could I not fall in love with you?”
When I finally had the courage to look at Tsireya again, her cheeks had a beautiful blush, and she looked to be surprised. When she came to reality again, I saw small tears pool in her eyes, and she smiled slightly. “Do you mean that..?” She asked quietly.
I nodded, and the next thing I knew, she had launched herself from her seat in the sand and hugged me, with so much momentum that we both ended up falling. When she leaned back, her hair falling around my head as she looked down at me, she smiled widely, showing the beautiful dimples that I had missed.
“Do you.. feel the same?” I asked hesitantly, smiling slightly as well. She laughed, nodding as she used one of her hands to wipe the small tears from the corners of her eyes. The other moved to hold her up, then she cupped my face gently. “Can I kiss you (Name)?”
I nodded, and she giggled again, leaning down and finally pressing her lips to mine. “I see you (Name).”
“I see you Tsireya.”
Hope you enjoyed <3 Should I make more Tsireya content next or do y'all wanna see some other characters?

Periods were a foreign thing to the Na’vi. Not having them themselves made it hard to understand how bleeding for a week every month was natural.
Neteyam was no exception.
When he first heard about periods, it was from Norm of all people. It was no secret to the people of the lab that Neteyam was in love with [Name]. He often made it very obvious from the way he looks at [Name] like she is the only one that exists to the way he never seems to leave her side unless necessary. But because of all of this time Neteyam spends with [Name], he gets to see all sides of [Name]. Including the moments when the mood swings hit hard.
That was the first change that Neteyam noticed between her as a kid and in the recent years.
He didn’t notice it quite at first, hoping that [Name] was just having a bad day the times that she got snappy or would just cry over stupid things. But when she started crying over a flower having no leaves, despite that species having no natural leaves anyway, he finally wondered if something was wrong.
He then quickly took to observing [Name] as much as he could, more than he usually would if that were possible, and started to notice a pattern.
Every 28 eclipses or so, [Name] would start this cycle of apparent pain in her stomach, mood swings and increased sudden needs to use the washroom.
This really bugged Neteyam because he couldn’t understand why she was behaving like this. So he went to his father.
He father spoke quickly and casually, not fazed at all, telling him that it’s “that blood thing” and to go ask Norm.
Neteyam, in a state of panic over the word blood, rushes to Norm immediately.
Upon asking Norm, Neteyam finally learns about periods. And although it seems strange to him at first, he is determined to not let anything hurt his love.
The moment [Name] even mentions having cramps, Neteyam leaps into caring boyfriend mode.
Neteyam has a whole routine every time, and every time he is excited to help.
He starts with bringing [Name] back to the lab, he starts with cuddles as she waits out her cramps. Then he moves on to preparing her favourite foods and snacks so that she isn’t hungry. After that, Neteyam lets [Name] vent while she enjoys her food. Letting her express all of her emotions openly and comforting her where ever he can. And when [Name] gets tired, he makes sure that he stays holding her all night.
Neteyam always wants to make sure that [Name] feels the best, and although he doesn’t fully understand periods and he might never, he is always ready to help.

A/n: Sorry if it is short! I never know what to think about period fics! Anyway, thanks for reading! And I hoped you enjoyed! Also feel free to request! I love hearing them. Here is the request guidelines! <3333

Paywll
anon's request: Can you do Metkayina family x human reader? The reader is an expert at underwater gardening, thats all! Thank you! Sorry, I forgot to mention: Could they be earth water plants? like seaweed, lily's, all the like? thank you!
---------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paywll hums a soft tune as she tends to her plants. In a small, naturally made pond was found by paywll when she was exploring the island of the metkayina clan. What was supposed to be a study of plant adaptation turned into something more. It became a second home to her, new found family among the na’vi. Truly it is amazing. Even more now that she can do what she always wanted to do.
Preserve and regrow endangered plants. To be more specific, the last remaining Earth plants. They are very delicate and hard to cultivate while meeting their needed requirements to survive in a whole new environment.
Paywll used the little pond she found to start her plant cultivation. Starting small and seeing how it can handle a small portion of the ecosystem. Placing water lilies, lily pads, and azolla filiculoides. She plans to add more, to save what is left of Earth and its precious plants. So far, she is happy to see how well her plants are growing. Even better, they are in need of changing from a small pond, to something bigger.
Tumblr media
“Ok, be very careful ao’nung, these plants are very fragile. Let rotxo help you” paywll gently instructs the young na’vi. Ao’nung grins happily as he lifts a large solid bowl above his head.
“I got this paywll, you just lead the way” he says. Beside him was his sister, tsireya who also holds a large bowl with the help of rotxo.
“Alright, we have to move quickly,” paywll says and begins to walk a bit fast. The pond where she shelters the Earth plants has quite a distance from the nearest beach. When arriving at the village, many people knew the protocol as they made way for her and the children. None daring to get in their way.
At the beach, Ronal awaits them with tools at hand.
They will have to move quickly for it to work.
“Mother! Time to begin” tsireya calls out to Ronal. Nodding, ronal pulls out her thin web like net. Ao’nung and tsireya lower the bows for paywll to do the next part. Taking the net from Ronal, she begins to instruct.
“Alright, for this part it may seem easy, but it's detrimental for the plant's life cycle” paywll begins to explain. Everyone nodded as they were ready to follow her instructions.
Grabbing the thin net, paywll places it on the surface of the water.
“Tsireya, the water lilies” she calls out to.
Nodding, tsireya takes out the water lilies from the large bowl with great care, being mindful to not touch the root. Slowly she puts the flowers on top of the net, letting it float. Ao’nung does the same with the azolla filiculoides. Roxto surrounded the plants with the lily pads while not over passing the net limits. Ronal goes under water to add a base at the bottom of the net. Adding three long ropes made with the same material as the net. She places one under a rock, the second gently tied to a coral base, and the third to a big shel. All for the net to not move and not disrupting the plants.
“What will this do paywll?” roxto asks.
“With the shallow waters, the plants will recognize its areas and adjust. It was familiar with the pond so we moved it to a similar area. This will also help the plants to adapt and grow” paywll happily explains.
“How long will it take to adapt?” tsireya was the second to ask as she admires the pretty plants.
“Depends on them. Can take days, or weeks. So, to know, I will have to watch over them and see if there is a difference. If they grow, then its working” paywll explains further.
Ronal took a liking to the water lilies, “if they do grow, what then?” she asks.
“We will gently cut some roots and separate them. Overcrowding can be bad, so when the time comes, we will place a new batch somewhere else”
Tsireya was in awe at the plan, already imagining what the shores will look like. Full of amazing alien plants, flowers and who knows what else.
“Now that the pond is clear, I can grow more different plants. Do the same as these, grow, transfer, cultivate, repeat” the human plans out. However the next batch of plants will be tricky, since they won't be in the pond for the process.
“What other plants do you wish to grow?”
Tumblr media
“These are beautiful” ronal compliments. She observes the plants that were in the pond, small leaves that paywll called ‘Caulerpa’. Ronal watches as her friend slowly starts to dig out the roots of the said plant into the large bowl.
“They will become more beautiful once I put these on the sand bed,” paywll says as she carefully transfers the plant. Just like before, they make quick haste to the ocean shore. Ronal helping paywll by guiding her to the desired area to place the plant.
Paywll gently holds down the plants so as to not float or sway away underwater.
Her lilies, pads, and other plants were adjusting so well to their new ecosystem that it made her want to grow more of the endangered plants.
“Here we are” ronal signs.
Nodding, paywll places the Caulerpa seaweed at the pre-dugged spot. Gently placing down the roots and covering it with sand and some shells in case it rises up. Ronal makes circular rotation around paywll incase a curious fish wants to intervene.
Paywll gives a thumbs up, signaling its all set. Ronal grabs her friend by the waist and starts to swim up. Once they reached the surface, they smile in glee together. It seems a lot to grow plants but ronal enjoys every bit of it. Especially if it gets her to spend more time with pawll and see in her view, how precious these foreign plants are to her.
Tumblr media
It was night, the family all gathered in their home, paywll being their honored guest. They all sit and enjoy the much earned food ronal glady made. Another hard day's world for everyone.
“Paywll, how many do you plan to grow? At this point, it's starting to look like a large underwater garden” ao’nung says. Ronal hisses at him, tonowari slightly glaring at his son. Paywll just giggled at his words.
“As many as I can. These plants mean a lot to me. I dont want these plants to be extinct or endangered. There are so many types you have yet to see ao’nung. Many you might like too. I couldnt save what little remains of nature back on my planet but, fortunately I did manage to save a little bit of these darlings. And trust me, what you see is nothing so what else I have yet to plant” paywll answers.
Ronal nods in approval. Placing her hand on her friends back, she speaks, “it our shores will be a garden, then so be it”
“It might even attract more fish or other creatures,” tsireya says, seeing many possibilities.
“Once the Macrocytosis start to grow a bit big, you are going to love the types of corals I plan to farm” paywll says.
Tonowari hears this, his ears twitching a bit, “corals you say? I look forward to those”.
Paywll chuckles, “you might like the sun croal, they are very colorful and interesting shapes”.
He nods, “I would gladly assist you in it”
Paywll nods as well. Truly, she is lucky to have the support of the reef na’vi. Allowing her to place the Earth’s sea plants into their territory. Really, even from the beginning of befriending them. But she is grateful, extremely grateful. With their support and willing to have foreign plants into their native ecosystem, paywll does not plan to break any cycle, only to improve and adapt. And honestly, paywll would mind having an underwater garden as ao’nung mentioned. It will be like an underwater oasis for the plants, to never be extinct and only thrive as they always should have.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaand that is it for this one! Sorry for no sneak peek for this fic, it was pretty short, but sweet! Hope you all liked it! Until next time! See ya!

When you return back home, you saw your brother, who had some bruises on his face and body. You asked “What happened?” you sat your bag down on the small table. “Your brother made fun of the Sully’s and got a beat” your father said as you looked at your brother disappointedly at him. “Oh Ao’nung” you said as you sat next to him as your mother had served everyone there dinner and sat down to eat.
You all talked about your day along with the process of the Sullys. After dinner, you helped clean up and went to bed with your sister in your shared room. That night you fell asleep, you had dreamed about water with stars in them, you weren’t sure if that was some kind of vision or just another dream but you felt as if it shouldn’t go ignored.
Ronal was holding the human infant in her arms, she had never cared for a human baby, she assumed it would be difficult but surprisingly not. Y/n was just like a regular Na’vi baby but smaller and different features. Ronal couldn’t help but be very protective of the infant, though the baby wasn’t her blood she still felt as if she needed to care for the child.
Tonowari had grown a soft spot for the human baby, he has never seen such a small creature in his life except for his daughter Tsiyera when she was still a baby, now a toddler learning how to talk and walk on her own. Like his mate he thought raising a dreamwalker child would be hard but the baby was just a baby.
Tonowari and Ronal had been teaching both Tsireya and y/n how to swim underwater, they had to teach them at a young age so that they could develop faster later. Ronal was worried that y/n would drown due to how small she was but surprisingly the infant had managed to swim in the water. “You did wonderful Y/n” Ronal praised the human infant lifting her up in the air causing the baby to giggle. Tonowari looked over at his mate seeing her interact with the infant while he has Tsireya on his shoulders. It warmed his heart seeing this.
A bit much later, Ronal had fallen pregnant again, Tsireya was now 4 years old and y/n was 3 years old. While Ronal was teaching Tsireya how to free-dive, Tonowari was teaching you how to hold a spear along with how to use it. He believed that since she was smaller, he would teach her how to be strong. He had let you hold his spear which was heavier then the smaller one that he made for you. “Okay y/n, be focused” the male said to the small child as she continued to held the spear with both hands. The little girl was slightly shaking do to the heaviness of the spear “now, throw it as hard as you can” he said as the girl did what she was told, though the spear didn’t go that far, it felt flat on the sand missing the target which was accouple feet away. “I missed” she said looking up at her father. “That’s fine, that why we’ll practice until you get it.” He said ruffling her hair.
The next morning, you woke up really early to go bathe with your mother and sister. You gathered some things such as your comb, some beads, wooden tin cylinders that contained both shampoo and conditioner, a bar of flower scented soap, another wooden tin that contained seaweed slime and a change of clothes.
Once you were ready to go, you left to the hot spring. The hot spring was surrounded by trees as a form of privacy, this was the women’s hot spring while the one for male’s was a bit further. As you all walked towards the hot spring some women stepped out while others went in.
When in the hot spring you greeted the women were there either bathing, talking or relaxing in the hot water. Some were helping their children bath and others were playing in the hot water. Some girls your age were in a small group talking, they were probably gossiping or talking about boys.
You had stripped from your clothes and stepped in the hot water. You and your sister helped your mother into the hot water, along with carefully getting her to sit. Your sister helped you take your hair down and wash it, she enjoyed washing your hair like you do hers. When she was done with your hair you then turned to her and also wash plus conditioned her long hair.
Then you moved to washing your body with the bar of soap, removing the scent of salt water, you’ll probably smell like sea salt later but you didn’t mind. Once you had removed the soap from your body you heard your mother “y/n come here” she said as she had finished with Tsireya’s hair, she had styled it the same like yesterday. You sat on her lap as she then began to comb your hair out. “How do you want it?” She asked as she began to apply aloe on your hair. “Anything is fine” you said as she began to work on your hair. Her hands were very gentle on your scalp, it felt like when you got your tattoo, at first you were afraid because the tattoo would hurt but she manage to make it feel as if a feather was going across your face.
You sat on her lap for a little bit as Ronal continued with your hair, meanwhile you were playing with the water in front of you, while your sister was now getting dressed. Whenever your mother did your hair you felt like a child again, even though you were of age, you would always be your mother’s baby. “Done” your mother said as you reached up and touched your hair feelings six sets of braids on your head with beads, while the rest of your hair was down reaching your mid back. “Thank you mother” you said turning to smile at her, she smiled at you and kissed your small forehead. She may be harsh and stoic around others but in private, she was a loving mother who wants the best for her children.
Then you stepped out of the hot spring and got dressed, you wore a pale colored top that was made with both thin rope and white pearls, the top was a gift from your mother, she made it herself. As for the bottom you wore a hip scarf that was the same color of your top with shells. When you were done you took a the wooden tin with seaweed slime and began to apply it on your skin, to keep it moisturized, the others didn’t really need it but you did since your skin was different.
Once you were done you and your sister began walking back to the village to find the Sully’s. “So, where were you last night?” Tsireya broke the silence as you looked up at her “oh, I was out...” you said feeling your face go hot then you saw your sister smile at you “are you interested in any one?” She asked the smile growing wider, making you nearly trip “I’m not sure... maybe?” you said shyly as she giggled at your shyness. “Its okay, I am also into a boy” she said making you gasp and turn to her. “Really?! Who is it?!” you wanted to know who it was but she just smiled at you, leaving you to wonder who her crush was.
That morning you had went swimming before meeting with the Sully’s, you swan where you normally swan. Seeing that the fish had woken up and went on to swim around, it made you happy seeing the schools of fish swimming around you, sometimes even swimming through your fingers or hair. Once you swam up to the surface to catch your breath, you saw your sister, brother, Rotxo, Lo’ak, Kiri, Tuk and lastly Neteyam. You smiled and greeted them “Good morning, how was your sleep?” you asked
“It was alright, thought Lo’ak snored all night” Kiri complained causing her brother to whine “No I didn’t that was Neyetam” he defended himself, which made your sister giggle at him. You noticed how when Tsireya would look at Lo’ak her eyes dilated, she also smiled more than usual, this caught your attention.
The small group of teens and child swan around the reef, Tsireya had been showing them places which contained beautiful plants along with other kind of fish to see. Mean while, Neyetam stayed close to you. Sometimes he’d need ‘help’ moving around by grabbing your small hand and let you guide him around. The evening was fun, no one was fighting, everyone was getting along. It made you smile, seeing that everyone was laughing and having fun with one another.
After that evening, Kiri and Tuk went home, Ao’nung and Rotxo went to find their other friends, Tsireya and Lo’ak went on their own way, suspiciously together. Leaving you and Neteyam. You were both sitting on the beach, watching the other villagers doing their daily tasks.
You then began to have a conversation about the things you liked such as food, weapon of choice and other stuff. You noticed how the forest na’vi paid close attention to you talk while you did the same. He told you about his adventures in his old home, he seemed to really miss his home. You wanted to be in his place, you wanted to know how he felt due to being in a place that wasn’t his original home.
Neteyam had all his attention on you, he looked at every small detail of yours. How you had a small scar on your lip along little ones on your hands, they must of been your hunts or fishing. He also noticed how you were a bit muscular. What caught his attention more was how when the sun reflected on you, you glowed like those fishes under water, beautiful. He had to contain himself when asking other questions, he didn’t want to offend you with a question he had been thinking since the day he saw you.
“Could I ask a question?” Neteyam asked shyly as you nodded, looking into his eyes. “Do you ever feel out of place? Since you’re different than the rest?” He ask. You nodded “yeah, in a way... I always wondered why I didn’t have the same skin like everyone, or tail, same with eyes and height. I would ask mother and father about it, but they’ve told me that Eywa has put me in their path for a reason.”
You answered honestly, your parents were fully honest with you. It was obvious that you were not their flesh and blood, but they love you as if you were. “My mother may not have given birth to me but she is still my mother, she was the one that raised me along with father, he took care and protected me like father does to a child.” You said as Neteyam listened closely, he did not want to miss any details. “Do you ever wonder who your parents are?” he asked as you then responded “sometimes, but I know that they had made the right choice in leaving me in good hands, I have two wonderful parents and siblings, another one coming on its way” you said happily, you loved talking about your family since you loved them dearly.
Neteyam couldn’t help but smile, he had already fallen in love with that lovely smile of yours. For a moment locked eyes with him again, those wide beautiful yellow orbs reminded you of the sun, you had noticed how he looked a lot like his mother, from his eyes, nose, fangs and hair, he was a carbon copy of her. But he also had his father’s features. That was the thing that you dearly wished to have, to look like both your parents like your siblings.
Tsireya looked a lot like father, but more gentle and feminine while Ao’nung looked like a carbon copy of your mother but masculine, but yet, they also had other features from both parents.
Just like yesterday, at night you both went for a swim, you worried he’d get in trouble but he told you not to worry. You both swam and played in the water for a what felt like a while. You both were playing a game of hide and seek under water. Neteyam had a heard time finding you since you were small and could fit anywhere. You’d normally jump out and surprise him causing to laugh. You had also noticed how his little spots on his face would glow, like stars in the water, he looked so heavenly under the water.
Afterwards he walked you home, as you walked towards your mauri, you both were joking each other quietly, not wanting to disturb the now sleeping villagers. Once you arrived you stopped to thank him. “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow” you said shyly, staring at him. Neteyam nodded smiling, finding your shyness adorable “yeah, have a good night” he said as he gave you one final smile and began to walk away. You watched him walk away, you continued to watch him until he was gone. You felt fish swimming in your stomach, he was the one, you just knew he was the one. That night when you laid in bed, you practically begged Eywa to destine you and Neyetam on being mates.
