did you guys know if you practice drawing hands you will eventually get better. anyway this giant tseren drawing and this giant misha drawing are over a year apart so its fun to compare them (although i will be fair to myself and say that the tseren drawing is rougher cause i didnt initially intended to post it for anyone outside of my friends)

its very important to me to portray fatness as something neutral and normal in my work so tseren puts on like a fair bit of happy weight after being in a healthy romantic relationship with misha for a while. gaining weight is just kinda a common part of getting older and it also serves as a sign that hes not in permanent high stress mode at all times and has a more normal relationship to food. to be loved is to be changed etc etc. he do still got some capital S Self Image Issues so hes initially kinda neurotic about this but he eventually learns to relax a bit and just exist in neutrally in his body. misha already tailors all his own clothes since they do not sell things for freakishly tall people at the general store so he alters tserens clothes as a gift when he starts getting a little noticeably distressed over his favorite clothes not fitting anymore

i love this oc au so much cause its based entirely around the fairy tale logic concept of “what if that type of warm fuzzy feeling where your emotions feel too big for your body was Extremely Extremely Literal” and its the most romantic thing ive ever written. hes very big cause hes full of love

tseren having size changing powers in a au is meant to be a extremely unsubtle metaphor for how they tend to get really intense emotions that feel too big for their body so after they connect the dots between their emotional state + and bizarre physical state misha thinks its weird but almost kinda sweet. what if your partner cared about you so much that something very weird and actually deeply terrifying happened to them

due to the time period + differing cultural standards misha and tseren dont really kiss on the lips romantically very often around others so they mostly tend to hold each other closely as a sign of affection. sometimes they do nose rubs and other similar gestures

i think about the au where tseren has size changing powers so much that ive debated making it explicitly canon for months and the only reason i havent done that yet is that tseren being human and still wholeheartedly loving misha in all her strangeness is a important theme in their story. but size as the most unsubtle metaphor for big overwhelming feelings is also very sweet and fun in its own way

cant quiet make tsersha comparisons wrt love lies bleeding because misha would absolutely think bodybuilding is kind of stupid. shes built like she could stop a moving car with her bare hands why would she make herself skinny and dehydrated just for the appearance of strength

okay sooooooo misha and tseren are best friends but for years they had some unaddressed friction especially wrt the way tseren viewed misha’s “condition” as a curse. when misha first started changing his mental state was awful and tseren got really overprotective about him and in the moment this was okay but later this would begin to turn kind of unhealthy for both of them. as misha got more comfortable with himself he began to grow irritated with being pitied for something he was already neutral about but he rarely explicitly voiced these feelings. at some point romantic feelings began to seep into their established bond but neither of them realized this at the time so for some reason their relationship no longer felt fulfilling enough and neither of them understood why. over the years they would frequently be forced to rely on just the others company and trying to put all your emotional needs on just one person just worsened their developing codependency issues. this would all culminate to a category 4 lesbian situationship event where misha realized he felt suffocated and tried to confront tseren directly and tell them that the two of them needed healthy distance. when tseren reacted really really poorly to what they percieve as unprompted aggression misha snapped and cut them off for several months. for misha this was a much needed breathe of bresh air and for tseren this was a forced reckoning with just how immature and smothering he’d been acting. once the two of them crossed paths once purely by accident but misha didnt say a word to them and that (deserved) coldness really cemented how badly tseren had fucked up

they would eventually meet up again after months of forced separation and would very slowly begin to rekindle their friendship because they had missed each other a lot. the two of them would only begin to realize their romantic feelings After they reconciled but if they hadnt split then they never wouldve progressed further enough with their relationship to get there in the first place and their feelings wouldve just festered into resentment

i call it the oomf divorce cause they wasnt officially dating yet but they both lost their best friend too so it hurt way more than it wouldve if they were just dating
