Question about Ticket Swap- I'm presuming Barok is the defense for most of, if not all of the AU? Also what cases, if any, from the original game remain?

but ouhhh! good question! barok is not quite the defense, i kind of wanted a mix since we don’t necessarily have to follow a game format for it. i wanted to cycle between herlock and barok if that makes sense

something that i kind of use as a foundation: in the jp dlcs (london side), while we do have herlock acting as the defense, we are still mostly playing from ryunosuke’s point of view (with herlock’s pov being in the descriptions of the profiles and evidence)

i kinda want to have something like that, so we get to keep the whole thing of not truly knowing what’s in his head, switching to barok’s pov when sholmes has something figured out.

other than that, i feel like barok would still think like a prosecutor, even on the defense bench. but also because i really wanted to have some scenes where he fanboys over kazuma, who is a prosecutor in this au too (similar to susato and sholmes i imagine).

barok being forced into being on the defense bench is something i find interesting to collide with his will to be a prosecutor as well as his will for justice. i also imagined him wanting to mentor under kazuma because of this (which… i find kinda funny, actually. maybe i’ll write more on this later, but i like to think that sholmes and barok wouldn’t actually see each other very much but fate keeps putting them together. like, barok mentoring under kazuma, herlock working with ryunosuke, completely separate paths with only iris really connecting them both, but every case they keep ending up with each other because they have to work together to get through it)

for the cases itself… i’m not quite sure, since a lot of important things are jumbled around (like timing, and uhh.. klint being alive). since tgaa is so interconnected in its storyline, it’s hard to pick the cases apart to put in an au without delving into another one. but also, i don’t think it has to rely on the original tgaa cases since: tsau takes place in japan! most of it, really.

i think at most, i can maybe try to see how i can input the tgaa1-1, tgaa1-4, and tgaa2-1 cases, especially because i like the thought of soseki natsume being involved and prosecuted by klint (albeit, still get not guilty… by who? idk, divine intervention until i figure it out ����)

Well. Every tmnt artist has to turn them into humans eventually, I suppose.

Sorry for not posting a ton lately, I have been................. playing fire emblem three houses.............. busy............ Also I've been feeling a little burned out on art, admitedly. Don't worry, it's very much temporary! Last month was just pretty high tempo for me, expecially with the Cell Talk comic, so I just needed to take a short break from drawing to also play fire emblem but I'm getting back into an art-mood now! I decided to draw humanified turtles as a bit of a warm up basically, I've been wanting to do it for quite some time so it was just a fun little thing for me :]

Anyway, some thoughts about the designs-

A lot of people draw Leo as blonde, and I was fully intending to draw him blonde as well, but then I just wanted to see what he'd look like with brown hair instead and I just.... liked that a bit more, so he's a brunette now. Also he has dimples because of course he has dimples. And Mikey has freckles because OF COURSE he has freckles! And Donnie ALSO has freckles because he's my blorbo and I give all my blorbos freckles cuz they're neat. All of them have pretty small eyebrows except for Donnie because he fills them in with makeup. I thought for a while of how I would translate Leo's facial markings into his human design, and I ended up settling for birthmarks (also some red eyeliner cuz his face needs a bit of red on it)

Just something I've been curious about --

(Note -- this includes regional variant spellings of "ciao" like "Čau" or "tsau.")

Because I feel like a lot of countries have borrowed ciao, and I'm curious to see how many it actually is. Please reblog this, as I only have so many friends that are in Europe and that appears to be where a lot of the ciao is. My midwestern mutuals... not so much.

Hana woke slowly, pulled from the fog of her dreams by an incessant screeching noise she was still too drowsy to place.  By the time her eyes batted open and her vision cleared enough for her to read the stark red 3:04 on her phone screen, the sound had ceased and she rolled back over with a groan, tossing the phone onto the comforter as she snuggled back into her pillow.

And then the sound began anew.

With a frustrated whine, Hana grabbed the phone and answered the call with her thumb without bothering to read the name on the screen.

“What? ” she asked, assuming Ayame was calling her drunkenly from some terribly loud after-hours party.

It was only when she was met with silence that Hana panicked, wondering if maybe something had happened to Kiba or her mother.  She drew the phone away to check the caller ID and then her heart rate sped for other reasons.

“Itachi?  Are you there, what’s wrong?” she asked, sitting up in her bed, feeling her brows draw together in concern.

“Hana, I…” he sounded sober, so her confusion deepened.  Itachi did not generally bother her in the middle of the night (their semi-frequent dalliances after a night of drinking or dancing at one of his cousin’s clubs notwithstanding).  “I think my rooster injured himself.”

From the diamond mines of South Africa to the richly textured landscape of Namibia’s Tsaus Mountains, the series spotlights the sub-Saharan region and its reserves of metals, salt, precious gemstones, and other ores. 

“I am surveying two very distinct aspects of the landscape,” he says in a statement, “that of the earth as something intact, undisturbed yet implicitly vulnerable… and that of the earth as opened up by the systematic extraction of resources.”

Taken over seven years in ten nations—these include Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Madagascar, and Tanzania—the aerial photos, which are compiled in a forthcoming book published by Steidl, present a dichotomy between a region irrevocably altered by humanity and one of immense possibility. 

Since 2013 when it launched its Belt and Road initiative, China has invested billions of dollars in expanding its global presence, with many African nations as targets. This growth, along with international competition for access and power on the continent, has widespread economic, environmental, and governmental impacts, which Burtynsky explores through the series.
