I don’t think Will and Nico’s relationship is defined by the fact they are complete opposites. They aren’t opposites at all.

For ex) They both hear it when a heart stops. Will senses the absence of life while Nico senses the presence of death. In some ways those are the same thing.

In TSATS, I want to see how, although they seem like opposites through their aesthetics and powers, they are just parallels through different methods.

I absolutely LOVE the fact that they're going more into depth about Percy's messed up version of friendship with Nico (and Bob). I've always thought Percy treated Nico kind of badly, especially during the HOO series, and I'm SO glad they're exploring that.

I really hope they explore it more. Almost everyone in the riordanverse sees Percy as this perfect hero, but I hope his flaws and the dismissive way he acts towards his more distant friends is explored more in Nico's and especially Will's povs. I promise I like Percy, but he's done Nico dirty multiple times, and I just can't forgive that. I'm sure Percy's back and forth friendship with Nico didn't help Nico's self-worth issues and his feelings of not belonging at Camp Half-Blood.

Extremely Dumb TSATS Predictions before the book comes out and ruins my fun:

When Mark Oshiro says people’s predictions are not close I had the urge to go out on a limb and think of just the wildest things then.

Jason will be in it and he will not get along with WIll

Will was working alongside Cupid this whole time and Nico’s relationship with him was a concoction by the two of them . The voice calling Nico from Tartarus is Cupid .

Nico went back into Tartarus by himself already, the whole time he dreamed up everytthing past BoO

It turns out Will was a memory that Nico concocted to deal with the trauma of Jason’s death and he never existed

Akhlys willactually come to Nico’s rescue

Chiron and Mr. D will announce they are married

Unlike percabeth who are even closer after Tartarus, this will break Solangelo up. And that’s the thing they exchange or whatever re the prophecy. Sometimes the real power is the boyfriend we lost along the way.

Actual Percy Jackson will make an appearance. Saying something like he’s Nico’s older brother and Nico will die on the spot

Nico will die.

Will will die.

Bob will die?

Jason will come back. And then die again

Bob has taken over Tartarus and it’s nice now, he’s just calling Nico for help setting up for a party.

Aforementioned party gives Nico anxiety but Will is excited and will be very helpful

It might actually be good and fix all the problems with Canon execution of Solangelo

I will be unbothered if tsats is good or bad. I get Will content. And now I know I get Will pov content. That is all that matters. I am going to eat that book and all of its middle school grade content right up. I win no matter what. We don’t talk about the potential fact of Will dying because I already won.

That reminds me. That "Nico slips into Italian when he's stressed" thing got by pretty quick.... Not once in the whole Tartarus trip does he do it even when in the most desperate of times. Did he?

So like Jason's death made him depressed for straight-up days and a trip through Tartarus is just a walk through the flower garden. Awww your priorities are cute. And by cute I mean this friendship is devastating.

nico could have broken down. he could have been absolutely sobbing into will's chest. a blubbering mess. or he could have had some sort of grand confession. i don't know how much longer i can do this. why me. i worry everyone i love will die. we could have had nico completely emotionless basically frozen in his own body with a thousand yard stare. will holding him and just the sound of another person's breath. another person's warmth. being all nico needed and wanted and could handle and they just laid their silently through the night. holding eachother. saying nothing. anxiety building tension increasing hopelessly in love with you moment. we could have had tears wiped away with thumbs. tears kissed away. tears that disappear because of quirky silly fast paced quips. will could have laid his head down on nico's shoulder. buried his face in nico's hair. laid there and cried with him. they could have gone outside and sat on the hades cabin porch. looked up at all the stars. told stories about their childhoods. about their biggest dreams and fears. they could have looked up at the stars silently. a radio playing in the background. they could have.

Some things I noticed (all very obvious lol):

-There is a cat?? Small Bob?

-Will has his hood up, so I’m just assuming that’s him. He’s not wearing open toed shoes! But he is wearing cargo shorts :( I love him so much.

-he’s smart enough to bring a bag to Tartarus! Nico, you should know better.

-Lowkey reminds me of Wizard of Oz, but…in hell.
