When You're Ready
It's Film Friday! When You're Ready - the final play in our Regency Theatre trilogy - premieres tonight via the link below. Filmed and edited by the brilliant Fernando Productions.
London, 2024. Claire Jameson is directing a revival of little-known musical 'Jolly Joyce', and rehearsals aren't going well.
The actors are mixing work and pleasure; the stage manager's not happy with the venue; and a surprise guest in the rehearsal room stirs up some unwelcome history.
Claire is known as a formidable director, but there are some scenes you can't command your way out of, and this particular production is fifty years in the making...

The BBC have informed the Writersā€™ Guild of Great Britain, Equity and the Society of Authors that as of April 2025 they will be making dramatic cuts to the output of Audio Drama on BBC Radio 3, completely eradicating audio drama from Radio 3.
This change will see not only essential jobs and employment opportunities for creative workers slashed, but programming of new material and new performers totally gone. The Writersā€™ Guild of Great Britain, Equity and the Society of Authors have written a letter to ask the BBC to reconsider these cuts and to save Audio Drama.
Please add your signature so we can demonstrate the strength of feeling against these cuts.

A Year in Review - Theatre Edition
2024 began with a fantastic new play by Micky Scott, ALIENS DO EXIST - part of a new writing commission and offering professional work to actors in Bucks from @unboundtheatre. The responses were phenomenal and truly showed what theatre can do.
Next followed a revival of FUNNY VOICES and the Regency Trilogy. Being able to reprise Joyce was an absolute privilege.
Performing with the General in CYCLONE LIVE was a challenge and a chance to brush up on my puppeteering and voice skills. As always, the team were wonderful and we had a lot of daft fun!
The Unbound Theatre 10th ANNIVERSARY SHOW was very special - a chance to celebrate a decade of Telling Great Stories, and personally a lovely opportunity to work with some old friends again.
Speaking of old friends, while not strictly theatre, recording with David Ault for EARWORM was an utter joy, as always.
And so to my beloved Professor. The walking play PARTNERS IN TIME was heartfelt and heartbreaking, with plenty of laughs along the streets of Aylesbury. FROM THE DEPTHS was a pilot for a new staged adaptation of one of the audio series. Panto was amazing - Iā€™m forever grateful that I got to be part of the magic that was THE STORYTELLER.
This year also saw the loss of two of my mentors, which hit very hard. David Henson, my tutor from Central, and Malc Emms, a dear friend and colleague who I worked with for many years. Being asked to sing at Davidā€™s memorial alongside one of my best friends was an honour. They will both be missed very much, and if I have a resolution for 2025, itā€™s to tell people what they mean to me before itā€™s too late.
Thank you to everyone for your support this year. Next week sees me start directing duties on a new play, and I look forward to sharing some very exciting news about a collaboration with the Georgettes of Oxford very soon!
Wishing you peace and love, E x

A Year in Review - Audio Edition
2024 marked a very busy year in audio, with several new audio drama shows to record for, plus indie games.
Thank you to all of the producers and casting directors Iā€™ve worked with, who have entrusted me with a range of wonderful characters, and to all of the writers who thought of me to tell their stories. Special thanks, as always to the team at NoSleep - in a few months Iā€™ll be celebrating 10 years as part of their repertory company!
Thank you to everyone who has listened and supported me, and to everyone who played Hollowbody and nominated us for the Horror Game Awards.
Iā€™ve already got a few scripts waiting for me in January, and there are still a few shows already recorded that are due for release in 2025.
Canā€™t wait to start sharing whatā€™s next!
