Shout out to all the modders and their saint-like patience because the entitled behavior I've seen over the weekend is outrageous. If I were a modder and I saw even 1 comment with a little bit of attitude, I'd turn all my stuff into malware and delete socials. It is never that deep, especially with the Sims.

I think that we as a community should start repelling those people for real. We already know all they do is following trends, ignoring the rest of us, cc tracking, doxing etc. So why do we keep endorsing that shit? Why do we keep paying for it? If they're out there making that amount of money by SELLING cc, it's because there's someone to buy it. I know there are simmers that are out of the community. Mostly kids and teens who have no idea there is an entire community about it. Let the people who don't know about their evildoings raise them, why do we know and still pay for it? PSMBD is out there, dollhouse mafia, kemono party, ts4 rebels, etc etc. They will always have the stuff. And if they don't, is it really worth it? To give money to the kind of person who throws tantrums at a comment section and calls you a freeloader because you want one thing for free? I don't think it is, darling.

Hi, this is my first post ever on here, I don't use this app a lot, mostly to download stuff for TS4 lol but I thought, since I have an account and the app downloaded, why not post something?

I am a 15 soon 16 year old girl, my life has been kinda chaotic, lots of family issues like fighting and verbal abuse, even alcohol abuse. Growing up in that environment wasn't fun and it did fuck me up mentally I'd say, it made me feel unsure about myself which then led to me finding out about things 8 year olds shouldn't know, like NSFW sites, drugs etc, younger me didn't understand that stuff, whenever I'd ask someone about it they'd laugh or yell at me or ask "How do you know what that is?!". I don't remember how I found those sites because like I said, I was very young and my memory is pretty bad hahah.

I did eventually stop asking people about that stuff and just keep it to myself while also over-sexualizing myself, making myself look more "sexy" and "cute" the older I got, mostly for male validation, I wanted men to notice me, I didn't care if they were a lot older or not, it was attention from them that I was after and it did kinda work but I did also end up getting groomed numerous times because of it, but before all of that stuff happened, I would get bullied, people would make fun of the way I dressed, my at home problems, how I was always sick and worst of all my teeth, they were never perfectly straight or pearly white, they still aren't and it's my biggest insecurity along with other things we'll talk about later.

I decided to stop caring about what others thought of me, sure I still do take some things to heart and they make me sad but not as much as before, but I guess that depends on what is said, and I think we all know that a lot of toxic stuff is said online. I firstly got Instagram at around 8, not a lot happened there, I would post every now and then, and then there was Snapchat.. oh what a mistake that was, I'm pretty sure 99% of people who have snapchap have been sent a dickpic atleast once if not more, and I am part of those 99%, it usually starts when a random guy adds you, he doesn't even say hi and goes STRAIGHT to the point and sends you a fucking picture of a shrimp, it's so disgusting but also so fun to make fun of them, I know that's wrong but sending random people (including KIDS) pictures of your manhood without consent isn't any better and you deserve to be punched in the face atleast 5 times a day.

Moving onto the era of Tiktok, I've had it since musically, I do miss those times, funny/cringey clips and dancing videos? Fucking amazing but now it's just toxicity, you can't have an opinion anymore without getting death threats or in a worst case scenario, doxxed but luckily, that has never happened to me, just mild death threats which I don't really mind, I find it funny as fuck ngl because it will most likely not happen, people just try to come off as scary when they're probably on the other side of the screen drooling and thinking "Oh yeah I got them with this one!!".. buddy you didn't get anyone with that, and no job either because of your digital footprint and especially if you talk like that to a bunch of other people, good luck in the future pal!!

It’s amazing how you and the other vocal criticizers of Early Access/Patreon users are basically Cassandra. You guys said this would happen with EA taking notes on how cc was monetized and now that they figured out a way to get their cut they did it. As a sims 2 old, i mourn wtf happened to this community because we were so anti paysites back in the day. TS4 community would have you believe “no but see Peggy/Rose/Raon were the good guys actually and MATY was stealing from poor creators!!!”

Yeah, unfortunately there's no satisfaction in being right about this one. It's sad and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon. Because being anti-paywall in the sims 4 community is the unpopular opinion, it's actually controversial. Even if the average person does disagree with it, as with most unpopular opinions on simblr, they don't usually say it on main for fear of being attacked. Paywalling has not only become the norm but has been tightly intertwined with the social status aspect of sims 4 simblr in complicated ways.

Back in the day (and now), clout was important to the top handful of simblrs, and making cc was one of the main ways to earn that clout. Now it's also an income source, but they still have that same clout and popularity from before as well as the connections to other simblrs, and utilize the same methods of attack they did pre-paywall. You notice that many cc creators and larger blogs are very tight knit & that's bc they used to be friends when everyone was (halfway) normal. By criticizing paywalls you are insulting people's "friends" and that will get you on simblr's shit list quick. The tide on here will not change bc by challenging the status quo you risk not only access to the cc (being chain blocked/banned) but being blacklisted/ostracized on simblr in general. As well as the very real possibility of being doxxed. They'll do whatever they can to hurt or discredit you and it works. People simply will not do it and I don't exactly blame them. It will only turn if Sims 4 dies or a lot of big players move on.

I envy the attitudes of the sims 2 community and other modding communities like those for Bethesda games that are anti-monetization. But that time has passed for the Sims 4 community due to the toxic environment that's been gradually created.

I always thought the Guild wars 2 PVP community was the most crap of all. But yeah since the launch of the Ts4 ( it was bad before already) it went down even worse.

Attatching my own rant contribution.

So it's been a long time since I've used certain perma-paywallers CC in my game at all, due to the enormous polycounts and image textures that I'd have to resize myself to at least attempt to make them more TS4-friendly, only to end up with an item that doesn't even look nice in game anyway. (the doxxing ring was actually the final straw)

I used to open these files in Sims 4 Studio to delete unneeded swatches, resize the textures (yes, the main image texture, but even 2048 x 2048 bump/spec maps? GTFO) or sometimes export the meshes to see if I can make them smaller. Sometimes when I did one of these things, Sims 4 Studio would crash. I had no idea it was actual errors and lazyness causing that!

But yeah I don't even use the CC anymore. After the (second) doxxing fiasco in April 2022, I took it all out. I don't even want anything by these creators in the background of my game pics.

I have to vent this out. It's hilarious though.

You know how I run a cc fixing side gig? Yea someone was asking about that "functional" toaster from Cowbuild and why it wasn't functional at all today. I took a look at it. It is an atrocity of an object.

The custom tuning of the toaster was made by Necrodog. That's fine on it's own, but it is incomplete. As in: Cow's toaster is NOT functional at all because half of the code is missing. You can't do anything with the CC you paid real money for. Cool, huh?

Second thing is the weight of that file. You know how EA uses 256x256 or sometimes 512x512 for smaller appliances? Cow's toaster uses 2048x2048 as texture. Just to put that into perspective, that's larger than the texture used for an entire sim and completely unnecessary for an object about the size of a microwave.

The mesh isn't any better. It has no LODs at all so you will run one single mesh the entire time. Okay, fine, I do that too sometimes when I can't shave off polygons but mine aren't 9938 Vertices to 15024 Polygons large. Yo, I could fit 6 of my Lamborghinis in that! Just saying, I'd rather have the cars than one broken AF toaster. Besides that none of the objects have shadow LODs. Yippee.

Anything else? The whole set is a problem zone. Everything is unoptimized and I know those of you who are running her CC have a laptop that's doing its best to imitate a jet engine. Those meshes are made for rendering, not for gameplay.

I love it when you bring me broken stuff to mess with. I love it even more when it gets fixed in the end. THIS is above my non-existing paygrade. I'm considering to blacklist Cowbuild CC from my cc-clinic just because there is no saving that. My sincerest condolences to whoever paid to get it.

I wish I was fucking joking when I tell you guys the TS4 fandom is the most annoying and toxic I've been a part of. Literally on tumblr and reddit, some people are just catty if not outright criminals or defending criminals. It sounds goofy but there was a literal doxxing ring and hate accounts that exist just to harass people who use Alpha CC.

The Patreon Mafia/Cowbuild Gate/Tracking/Doxxing Summary and Links

We're seeing a lot of people confused or just catching up about the situation so here are some helpful links:

The rundown is some big creators like Cowbuild, Bergdorf, Hermajesty Builds, and Anto, Bursa and more had a list of their's leaked where they were looking at and exchanging private information of suspected leakers. In violation of Patreon TOS, EU law & UK Law privacy laws.

Anto has since apologized and confirmed the existence of this list and that some members of this group were tracking their cc. His apology has been deleted.

The methods used to track is the warehouse tab in sims file share, baking user info into blender files and by monitoring download links. This is why so many permanent paywallers make their patrons beg for links, so they can track each piece of cc.

Last week we also released a post that documented more information that Cowbuild has been committing Copyright Infringement and Intellectual property theft, this has been confirmed by one furniture brand. Thats all for now.

turbo is probably one of these creators that has prevented many players from putting the game down in the first place. he's probably the biggest hand you could bite in terms of ts4 mods and whoever doxxed him should hope that he'll continue feeding us, i could totally understand if he doesn't want to mod anymore after this bs. ppl literally put his life on the line because as i already ranted somewhere else - doxxing can kill people in the worst case. i don't think these idiots really realize how dangerous this can be not only for him but also probably his family too. egotistical assholes.

FURTHERMORE

It isn't just a sex mod! Turbo really revolutionized gameplay with this. The ability for animations to spawn objects (and some posemakers use WW for animations for this purpose). There's an attraction system, you can position your sims to get rid of clipping when posing. There's all sorts of things that WW contributes to the game. I may or may not be a subscriber because of this. Not ONLY do we get all of these gameplay additions, he updates regularly and frequently. Bro doesn't play about his mods. And you know what? I like that shit. I like that you care enough to put out a product and MAINTAIN IT. Unlike the developers of the actual game its for.

Storytelling is nearly impossible without Turbo and I hope he knows that the majority of us know better and appreciate this mod enough not to fuck with the creator when new updates/packs come out.

Doxing Ring; My Take

Patreon itself is not a bad platform. I've supported a couple of wonderful people and projects on the platform (GB Patch, Gatobob, Leahlillith, etc.) so I'm not going to blame Patroen as a whole. It's the people who occupy the platform, abusing it, that should have eyes upon them.

If you are not aware, a few days ago, it came to light that there were a number of large creators participating in the doxing and mass banning of patrons who they suspected were leaking their content.

Listen, it’s okay to want to protect one’s creations but at no point, leaks or not, is it alright to dox or manhunt someone over it. We as creators for The Sims, hold no copyright over what we create for the game.

Despite the screenshots that circulate saying otherwise, it doesn’t matter what programs we use, whether our meshes use EA’s meshes as a base or are made from scratch.

Everything that we create for the sims is open to the community, 100%.

We have no right to file copyright claims, harass, or dox people who choose to share what we create. We are not companies; these are not leaks nor piracy. We are not owed money by the community.

It’s sharing, that’s it.

Before my Patreon, I’ve seen what greed does to creators. I know about the doxing of the owners of the 1st and 2nddown with Patreon sites. I know how vicious current & past greedy creators can get and the lengths they’ll go. Attacking others, doxing children, even willing to harm the very people who pay them a wage. They’re so comfortable in their nonsense they feel like they can escape the consequences.

It is time for this to stop.

You may think it’s just a name and an email but sometimes all you need is a name. Sometimes all you need is an email. A tumblr user going by the name @mack3030​, was able to find the personal Facebook and other private info of one of the people on that spreadsheet simply because they were using their real name.

This is why it’s serious. You can do so much damage with just an email or a name. These creators so frivolously expose and put their patrons at risk due to their greed blinding them.

That is why when I made my Patreon, I told myself that I would always keep my visons clear, to not let money cause me to do things to people I wouldn’t want done to myself. I still feel that way because I know how fragile trust is. Even if it never comes up here, I know it’s there.

I want every single one of my followers and patrons to know that I do not use your emails or names maliciously. I have never participated or contributed to this or any list and never will. If you’re a patron of mine or are thinking of becoming one, please know that I will never do anything to betray the trust and faith that you put in me. I’ve said this before but if you ever want to share my content with friends, on Telegram, F95, wherever; go for it.

I want my cc to reach as many people as possible and I would never punish or put people at risk for that.
