On the third day of GOATmas, my true love sent to me...

...desks! Wood recolors of desks!

I've recolored every desk that EA has created in a pack or expansion that:

1) already had wood recolors

2) didn't have wood recolors, but I felt that wood recolors suited them

For the colors: I am using Dynamite, Depth Charge, Shrapnel, Safety Fuse and Time Bomb by @pooklet, and Nesert and Honey by Io aka @serabiet.

Please check out the Add-On's I've recommended! They are meshes made by community members that will use these textures too. Or, they are bits of CC that go along with these nicely!

I'm finally back, bearing a small gift!

This summer, I spent a few weeks at a cabin near the Parc national du Mont-Tremblant. It was fun, but I wanted to decorate the cabin to make it cozier. Then came the idea of a Christmas cabin located in the Three Lakes.

🎄 Advent SIMSlendar 2023 🎄

It's my favourite time of the year, so I'm back with another challenge! At first, I was planning this to be just a CAS challenge, but then I thought: why not let everyone approach the prompt as they like? Make new sims, make over old ones, build, decorate rooms, create edits or lookbooks, maybe a little bit of everything or something entirely different? It's all up to you, just have fun this holiday season.

Just like with my previous challenges, you can start posting whenever you’d like! But since I had an advent calendar in mind for this challenge, I’m personally starting on December 1st and will end on December 24th. And, you don’t have to do all the prompts if you don’t feel like it. You can change their order too!

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

Old age. That's pretty much the only death in my game unless there's a rare accident. Plus, I love a tiki drink.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Maxis match.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

No. In fact, I use mods that get rid of some of the weight related wants and fears. (And in TS3 a lot of my sims are fat.)

4. Do you use move objects?

So much.

5. Favorite mod?

Probably the one that lets kittens and puppies have coat patterns.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

What was the first TS expansion? Looks like it was Livin' Large? So that, I guess? Or maybe House Party? My sister got The Sims for xmas 2000, and Livin' Large was already out. Hmm. No idea. Too long ago!

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

Live mode. (Not live mode.)

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

She's long gone, but probably my first TS2 sim. Her name was Annette something, I think. I also really liked Arthur Broadback, the partner I made for Cassandra. He's gone too now.

9. Have you made a simself?

Yep. She's one of my models, modeling AF fat morph clothes, but only ones I'd wear. I used to have a sim whose name was Ramona who was kinda me. Her name was an anagram of my deadname (first and last).

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

Sims 2, so no traits. I think Ramona was a Romance sim. Sloppy, outgoing, lazy, kinda playful, kinda nice.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

In TS2 they're all kinda bleh. Black, I guess?

12. Favorite EA hair?

I mostly use CC hair.

13. Favorite life stage?

Hmmm.....Young Adult maybe? It's when I figure out their personalities.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Gameplay. No contest. I have to make myself decorate.

15. Are you a CC creator?

Off and on, though steadily on for 2-ish years lately.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?

Kinda? I'm bad at keeping in touch and perpetually too stressed to be a good friend. 😕 But there are definitely people in the community who I like and who like me, and that's something I wish I had more energy for.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)

2, it's not even close.

18. Do you have any sims merch?

Nah. I own too much stuff and I don't think there's sims merch that would fit my style.

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?

Nope.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I have no tolerance for photoskinned CC anymore. I used to have tons of it.

21. What’s your Origin ID?

Haha. Origin. No. I think I technically have an ID for it, but I have no idea what it might be. I don't use it.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

@deedee-sims, and I think she knows it. 😉

23. How long have you had a simblr?

Just over two years, but I missed the anniversary in March.

24. How do you edit your pictures?

Minimally? I use GIMP and pretty much just crop them.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

As far as TS4 stuff that will get converted? I'm kinda anticipating the goth kit they sorta teased. More stuff for children and younger would be nice too.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?

All TS2 EP's add something that feels vital, but....hmm....Nightlife? The attraction system really made the relationships feel more complex. Which one added secondary aspirations? That one is a strong contender too.

Comfy Pet Pillow - petbasketvalue is a darn good pet pillow that deserved some nice RC's.

There's bound to be something in there that you will like!

I have included a white base PNG for recolorists as well as a PSD if you want to make some yourself.

I'd also recommend you get SimWardrobe's one-tile version - it's called "SW-OneTilePetBed-Pillow-1.1.zip" and it will use the same textures.

I am not great at meeting holiday deadlines (usually at this time of the year, I would hardly find time to open my Sims game). But this year I actually felt like doing it, as apparently I now have 300+ reasons. Plus I would like from time to time to give something back to this vibrant and creative Simblr community, who IS the reason I still love ts2 and find the game inspiring after all these years.

So here I am, presenting to you the project that I had planned for the last two months:

This lot is named after one of my favorite characters in my old game (the save file had long been lost in my last hard-drive apocalypse), who was a musician, an artist, and an activist of some sort. The townhouse is super detailed (even by my standard) because I had so much of her life story to put into this house. Despite its relatively unassuming exterior, this house is actually completed with multiple working areas, two kitchens, a laundry, five bathrooms, and a recording studio in the basement.

Ho, Ho, Ho  Dear Simblrs,

Mother Winter is coming to town on the 3rd of November pretty much right after the day of the dead. But who am I? Well, shh that’s a secret all you need to know is that I’m going to host from now on the yearly Simlish Winterfest. I may reveal who I am at a certain point but for now, I just want to be your Mother Winter. Father Winter is my Hubby Clement Frost, so you can call me Mrs. Clara Frost me and my fam welcome you to join the Simlish Winterfest. Let me get this straight what simblreenofficial is doing for Halloween time? Yes, I want to establish a tradition within the Sims Community for Christmas. Are you with me? That’s dope! 

Ha, is it already snowing? Not yet? Okay, it will happen soon I bet, my elves are working on it, already. Is someone using the weather machine? I mean who is seriously faking the real Winter atmosphere, anyways? Oh you want to create a Winter Wonderland, yeah, that’s fine with me go fake it then ;) Oh and you live in Downunder?  I guess, you guys are damm lucky to have a sunny Winterfest - okay you can use the weather machine, too if you want ;)! 

Why not Father Winter? Why has it to be always a man? Ever heard of the saying behind a strong man there is always a woman? Yep, that’s me because I’m organizing all that stuff and Clement is managing the gifts. Let’s break it down, Christmas is a bit larger than Halloween and therefore we will have several different Events where you as a creator can join. And you who want to hunt down some treasures will have several opportunities to grab those goodies. To Simblreen it’s the Porchlight and well for the Simlish Winterfest, it will be of course the Firelight (Fireplace Light). 

Elves, open your doors for the Treasure Hunters and let them know when you firelight is on. Because that means you are at your workshop [Simblr-Blog] and you can gift. If the firelight is off, dear Treasure Hunters the elf is no longer at their workshop, most likely you will need to come back again ;).

This event will cover festivities like Thanks Giving, Advent, St. Nicholas Day, and New Year Eve as well. It’s pretty much up to you which dates you want to join and suit you.

 Are you looking forward to the holiday season? I sure am, so I came up with these 24 prompts for Advent.

Just like with my previous challenge, you can start posting whenever you'd like! But since I had an advent calendar in mind for this challenge, I'm personally starting on December 1st and will end on December 24th.

You don't have to do all the prompts if you don't feel like it and of course you can change their order. For example, for me "one more sleep" until Christmas makes sense to post on 23rd, but many people get their gifts on 25th - feel free to switch it up accordingly 😄

I was 18 and it was The Sims, so...no idea, at all. My sister probably downloaded stuff before I did. She was the one who got TS for xmas in the first place, though I bought most of the EP's. I was 18 when she got it, so she was 12, and I had a job.

I barely even remember what kind of stuff we downloaded in the early days, or where. I was pretty quickly active in the Sims Sisters forum and on N99, but I don't remember many downloads specifically. I know there was a really cool site that had kinda a modern Bali (Thailand?) vibe to it, but the name completely escapes me. There was also a site run by someone who went by Camilla Nimue, and we became online friends. She jokingly offered to let me sleep on her sofa in Norway when Bush won a second term. Though it was the early TS2 era by then.

Do any of u remember the first piece of cc you installed in sims? I was about 12 years old at the time and don’t even question why as I was a strange kid
