Kaijune Day 21: Ancient Sorry if the image isn't that good, or seems like it matches the prompt that well, but I was busy today and didn't give myself the time to do this earlier so I free handed it instead of drawing a gesture beforehand. I also had another idea for the prompt, but I couldn't get it right. For those of you who don't know the ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses let me explain. This is Ammit, the Soul Eater, she's an Egyptian goddess/demon, she would eat the souls of the dead who are deemed unworthy for the afterlife, or "second life". Kaijune Day 24: Parasite So original I was thinking of probably doing the corrupted form of the "Purified" kaiju I did a while back, but I thought I wouldn't have the time to finish by midnight. Instead I decided to expand the story a bit by making a sort of "patient zero" to the parasite that corrupted the other kaiju. I primarily based this one on grub worms and added the little tentacles to give it more of a creepy, insect-ish vibe, along with the misplaced eyes. Kaijune Day 22: Cyclone I had a bit of a tough time thinking about this one. I had already decided on doing one with the lower half of a tornado for this prompt, but I decided to make the top half oni-like to give it a sort of "storm" appearance. I feel I could have done a bit of a better job on the body, mainly making the arms more muscular in appearance. Kaijune Day 20: Mountain Okay so technically I already did a kaiju for this prompt on the ninth for the prompt "Horns", but rather than cheat by recycling an already done kaiju for a different prompt I created a new one. I based this one off of pangolins, with some inspiration coming from ankylosauruses and the Pokémon Sandslash. Pangolins don't have visible ears so I gave the kaiju long ears because it just seemed visually appealing to me, and the area looked like it needed something. Kaijune Day 13: Oceanic I was really afraid I wouldn't have had the time to fully put into this, but I'm glad I did. I based the design primarily on a pelican eel and gave it more features from other deep sea creatures, except for the dual mouths and two heads. Off in the distance is it's second head, which is about the same size as the head in the foreground. Kaijune Day 12: Decay So I had to settle on doing a decaying sloth kaiju mostly because I thought it would look cool, and because I was running very short on time due to work. I really wanted to add more signs of decay, but again I had little time. Kaijune Day 9: Horns I know it's pretty cliche, but when I read this prompt weeks ago all I could think about was doing a bighorn sheep. If the lines on the horns look funny it's because I was trying to give them rock striations, like you would see in canyons and such, I was trying to go for more of an earth element spirit sort of look, hence the mountain range on it's back and the fact that I made it's beard stalactites. Kaijune Day 30: Lustrous Okay so this isn't really my best work, I envision a kaiju like this, but after drawing it I left some areas pretty plain. Regardless I do still find the basic form of the kaiju visibly appealing and might add more if I convert it to digital. My main inspirations for it was the Pokémon Palkia and the alien from Ben 10 named Cannonbolt. After changing the pose a little I wanted this kaiju to look more like an extra terrestrial of some sort, and I used the multiple helicopters to sort of sell that idea. Today is the last day of Kaijune and I would like to thank everyone who viewed and liked my stuff, thank you very much for your support. Kaijune Day 29: Fluffy So I don't have much to say about this kaiju except that early on in the month I wanted this one to be a sloth, because at the time I wanted to do one sloth kaiju, and I had decided to put it in a King Kong-esc pose. To stick with the prompt I gave it very long and shaggy fur, and had decided to add a rabbit's tail and some little bottom fangs. Originally I wanted it to be a bit more serious, but later I wanted to have it be serious and cute. Ultimately I had decided to make the kaiju cute. Kaijune Day 28: Volcanic So I know I went a bit cliche with this, basing it off of a giant salamander and all, but I wanted it to have this sort of feeling, like an "aquatic" feeling. I guess because I wanted it to seem more like a Hawaiian magma spirit. Kaijune Day 27: Festive Originally I thought this prompt would be the hardest for me, but I decided to do another cutesy kaiju just like yesterday. I originally wanted it to look dragon-like, so to ensure it wasn't too dragon like I refrained from putting big wings on it and instead put the little ear wings on it. I also gave the kaiju five pairs of legs. I had decided to give it derpy eyes to add to it's cute appeal, sorry if anyone gets offended by it. Kaijune Day 26: Squishy So from the start I already decided I was going to do a more cutesy kaiju for this prompt, and I had decided it would be a giant, angry jello mold. Had I gone more serious it would have been a giant, amorphous floating blob creature, but I'd rather do that for a prompt like "amorphous". I had wanted it to look cuter, but I still love it regardless of how cute it looks. Kaijune Day 25: Junk Originally I wanted to do a scrap dragon type creature, but I was having trouble coming up with a good body for it, so I settled on this design. Sorry if it seems rushed, or sloppy, or even inoperable as a machine, but I gave myself just a couple hours, and if my past experience has taught me anything it's that drawing an automaton of any kind takes a large amount of time to get it right, which I did not do. Kaijune Day 23: Wings So I wasn't sure whether to do a pterosaur or a bat-like kaiju, so I just "spliced" them together. I wanted to give it that creepy, fearful look pterosaurs have, and that a bat can give off. I love the way it looks, but I also feel I could have done more to keep from looking like just a pterosaur-bat hybrid. I originally wanted a second pair of smaller wings, and maybe more pterosaur qualities. Kaijune Day 19: Spiral I originally was going to do a mole with drills, but I felt that it was a bit cartoony at the moment, and lacked a bit of imagination. I settled on doing a hermit crab with a spiral conch shell and added squid-like tentacles and a beak, instead of just putting durable crab legs on it, which I thought would make it just a giant hermit crab. I wanted to add some sort of natural defense to the shell, but unfortunately I couldn't think of a good one to add from nature.
