Sleeping is hard
Tumblr media
Summary: After a little argument with Natasha over a mission she didn't know you had, you try to find a way to cope. This time it doesn't go as planned
Warnings: drug use, alcohol, overdose, swearing, a pissed Natasha, mention of medications, insomnia(?)
A/N: I'm sorry if anything is spelled incorrectly, but English is not my first language. I apologize in advance for my grammar and spelling
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N POV
It was 3:00 in the morning.
3:00 a.m. and I was lying on the bed looking at the ceiling, thinking about a girl with red hair and emerald eyes. My family that I found out wasn’t so perfect. The missions and the stress they cause. The past and millions of other things. It was as if my mind was no longer controlled by me, but had a life of its own.
After another two hours of watching the drugs on my desk, watching TV, and lying on the floor looking at the ceiling, I picked up the phone and went to Fury’s contact who finally answered after several attempts.
"What do you want at 5 in the morning?" he replied with a mixture of fatigue and anger in his tone of voice
"Well, I was hoping that maybe I could-" he interrupted me just as I was proposing
"No, go to sleep," he continued, and I heard noises in the background that sounded like someone was getting out of bed
"You didn’t even let me finish the sentence, Fury" I kind of whined after his answer
"You want a mission. But I won’t give it to you. You have to sleep. At least try, Sergeant."
I could hear the concern in his tone of voice. Ever since I told him I couldn’t sleep, he started worrying more and more, and he wouldn’t let me go out without someone else with me. Most of the time it was Nat. This was a bit of a problem for me most of the time, as I’m not very good with feelings I always try to push them into a remote part of my mind. He and Maria were afraid that I would faint at any moment and no one was there to take me back to the tower.
"Do you want to hear words that will make you feel even more anxious?" I asked him. More than asking, I was threatening him
"All right, you don’t have to do it. Simple mission. Go into the base, engine room, and lab, get in there, and get everything we can use. I just sent you the files on the rest".
"Wow, you’re not as old as I thought you were. You can use a computer better than Steve. I didn’t know you could do it"
"Y/N, I’m serious. Anyway, you should have the mission file. Then I want you to go straight to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s headquarters where you and I will have a nice little chat" he told me seriously
"Yes, sir"
"I’m not joking and you know it. Now go. Our conversation is waiting"
And with that, he hung up. I immediately opened the computer and looked at all the details of the mission. I couldn’t concentrate, and as a result, I would do as usual on my own. Anyway, I realized that the place I was supposed to go to had already been searched by other agents who couldn’t get all the paperwork they needed. I got dressed and left my room, only to find Natasha with wet hair and running in front of me. As soon as she saw me, she looked at me confused as I watched her blushing, praying to all the gods that she hadn’t seen it.
"Hey, where are you going?" she asked confused, grabbing my face as my head, grabbing my face in her hands as my head was turned sideways.
"I’m going out. I’ll be back around 6:30. Why? Are you worried about me, Romanoff?" I told her jokingly hoping she wouldn’t say she was.
"It’s raining" She ignored my sarcastic remark and walked into my room, leaving me out trying to pull myself together again after she put her hands on my cheeks. "At least get something to cover you up," she said looking in my closet
"Nat, no need. I’m going to Sebastian’s house. There is also Adem and we'll sleep there" I said hoping that she would convince herself and let me go on a mission so the chat with Fury would pass faster.
"Okay, but you still have to cover yourself. You’ll catch a cold, and that’s not what we need right now. I don’t know if you realize how you are when you’re sick. I think I only saw you like that when you were using it. It’s a good thing you stopped," She continued with a sigh of relief.
Yeah, I’m done with

"Nat, I have to go. I’ll see you at 6:30," I told her by kissing her cheek walking out, and leaving her there, like she was immobilized.
I ran down to the garage because I was super late and I took my car to go to SHIELD, made a stop at Sebastian’s house, and parked in his driveway, so at least the tracker would report that I was (my car was) at Sebastian’s. Then I started running to the safest building in the world.
As soon as I went up to the roof, I saw the jet with Maria next to it tapping her foot impatiently against the floor, like she’d been waiting for me for hours.
"Hill" I greeted her, but she just looked at me sideways.
"I was in bed sleeping blissfully and strangely calls me Fury saying I had to accompany you on a mission. You owe me a round of shots on Friday night I’ll tell you" she said as she drove behind me towards the controls.
"Wait and hope for Maria. Wait and hope," I said, smiling, as she continued to look at me with a murderous look.
"Y/N, Fury has already given you all the information, right?" she asked me and I nodded while I got up to go get ready.
"Maria, is Coulson’s offer still valid for the suit?" I asked after a while that I got out of the bathroom after I changed.
"Why?" she asked, turning around, and as soon as she did, she laughed.
"Don’t you like the HYDRA style?" she asked joking and laughing.
"You suck, let me tell you" I mumbled to myself while the one kept laughing.
"Better question. When are you gonna ask the famous Black Widow out?" continued with a smile printed on my face as she watched me blush.
"Probably never" I answered by opening the back door ready to jump down without a parachute, because let’s face it, where would the fun be otherwise?
"Too shy or too scared?" she asked looking back.
"Too busy!" I yelled so she could hear me before jumping and landing on the roof of the base a few seconds later.
"You know, there are parachutes" I heard Maria's voice coming from my right ear.
"That’s exactly what I was thinking about in my head. Then I told myself that it’s funny so why not do it" I replied whispering in case there was someone on the base that maybe he had hidden.
"Move your ass and go to the east side of the building. That should be the engine room," she ordered me and I immediately went to the point she told me to go.
"Okay, but don’t be so rude" I complained and then increased the speed of my pace.
When I got to the engine room, I immediately started backing up all the data that Fury had asked for. They have computers a little different from today’s since it seems that this box was manufactured by the Huns.
"Sergeant, JARVIS just warned me that Agent Romanoff is on the phone," I suddenly heard Hill calling me. Well, I’m in deep shit.
"Tell her I’ll call her back later," I tried to cover my ass.
"Agent Romanoff is continuing to insist, Sergeant. She is threatening you with a slow and painful death. Are you positive that ignoring her is the case?" She playfully asked me again but I knew that Nat’s words were true.
"You know what, give it to me," I finally decided since I still didn’t want to die.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" She immediately yelled at me and I had to pull out the earpiece for how loud she was shouting at me.
"What do you mean," I tried to play dumb.
"I mean exactly what I said. You’re not at Sebastian’s. So I’ll ask you again. Where the fuck are you?".
Fuck. She must have called Sebastian and he told her I wasn’t actually at his place. Snitches end up in ditches Sebastian, remember?
"Ah, we went out".
Here you can see an example of wild Y/N trying to escape from her hunter to survive.
"MAYBE TELL ME NEXT TIME? Where are you?" She asked me a little calmer than before.
"Central Park" What a bullshit Y/N.
"So if I go there I find you right?" She continued.
"Of course" let’s try.
Move faster shitty data, that if Nat finds out I’m not in Central Park, she really is going to kill me, and technically, I’d like to live a little longer. At least let me get home.
"Well, then I’ll see you there in 15 minutes".
She hung up. I’m dead. I don’t even have a will. I’m gonna die. Meanwhile, by the grace of God, the computer of 1500 b.C had finished with the data and I left, jumping from the roof and landing on the door still open. I went to the bathroom and started taking the fastest shower in the world. Jesus thank God for giving Tony Stark the idea of putting a shower in the bathroom. As soon as I got out, I quickly changed and dried my hair.
"Wow, I’ve never seen someone so scared".
"Shut up Hill. I’m going to die and you’re joking," I answered, opening the door ready to jump down again.
"Well, if you die, you can finally sleep," she said, still laughing, while I gave her a dirty look.
As soon as I saw our position, I quickly said goodbye to Maria and jumped off, as I did at the base. I wandered around a bit until I saw Nat sitting on a bench. I approached her and she raised her head feeling a presence near her. She looked at me for a while, got up, and slapped me, powerful if I say so.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?" She told me and I tried to talk, but did not even have time to open my mouth when I felt her lips on mine and almost automatically my hands went to her hips to bring her closer, while hers were in my hair.
"Now the two of us go back to the tower and you tell me what’s going on with you. Am I clear?" She said sternly and authoritatively that she left me room only to nod.
"Words darling," she said firmly, putting her hands on my cheeks, making me see her face, as I held my head low.
"Yes m'am" I whispered.
"Good" She kissed me and took my hand, heading for her car.
The ride, most of it at least, was quite tranquil. Up to a certain point when the redhead started talking.
"I don’t want to force you to talk to me, and I couldn’t answer the question before. Yeah, okay. I’m worried about you. You do pretty stupid things. Sometimes you look like a genius and you do mature things, like a mix of Tony and Bruce; but sometimes you look like a little girl, and all she does is act out. You don’t have to keep complaining to Fury until he gives you missions. Maybe you’re not trying as hard as you should or not qualified for that kind of thing, but you have to stop-" I interrupted her before she could say more words to convince me even more that I could never be enough for her.
"Okay, Nat. I understood. You can stop now, thank you," I told her as I kept looking out the window, and as soon as we got to the garage, I opened the door and went to my room.
Natasha POV
Okay, maybe I went too far. I shouldn’t have said these things, but it’s true. I leaned my head against the steering wheel and I took a deep breath before I got out of my car and closed it, then I went into the elevator and crushed the floor where me, Y/N, and Wanda were staying. I hope Wanda didn’t hear anything because she has to rest since she has just returned from a long mission, in which frankly I would have seen better Y/N. We all confronted each other after the meeting, except Y/N, who was pissed because she couldn’t go, and Wanda, and we agreed that she was the best choice. So no one understood the reason for Fury’s choice.
When I arrived at her door I knocked, but no one answered and after several attempts, I tried to call her, but she kept going to voice mail; however I felt that she was in there, so I decided to leave a message.
"Y/N, I know you’re not well. Can you open the door and we can talk a bit together, please?" In this case, I knew the only thing that could make her feel better was inhaling crap so she wouldn’t feel anything.
I heard my voice on the other side of the door, so someone was there.
"JARVIS, open this door," I said after a while more as I had enough of waiting. I knew she needed me.
After the fourth time, I begged Al to open the door unsuccessfully, I sat on the floor and leaned my head against the wall, trying to stay alert about whatever was going on. In the end, however, fatigue took over and I fell asleep.
I woke up in someone’s bed. I stood up, ready to attack, when I realized it was Y/N's room. The posters on the wall and our photos together were on the black wall of her room. The desk was a mess, the closet was half open and the trash was full of tissues.
I heard the bedroom door open and saw Y/N enter with a tray of two sandwiches and two glasses. When she saw me, she smiled at me put the tray on the bedside table, and then lay on the bed, waiting for me to do the same. As soon as I lay down, she turned and put her arm around my waist and gave me gentle kisses on the neck. After a while, she took the food and handed it to me. Mine was a jam and peanut butter sandwich with coffee, hers was a Nutella sandwich and orange juice. I swear that girl could die if we didn’t have Nutella in the tower anymore.
After breakfast, our day went on regularly, we did not see each other much. Only briefly for lunch, but not for dinner because she didn’t come to eat with us. She didn’t show up after that, and when I texted her that the movie was about to start, she said she wasn’t feeling very well.
At 2:10 in the morning, I had to wake up because my phone was ringing and I realized only now that I had not charged it and that it was 10% battery, so it would not last long. I looked at the screen of the phone and noticed that Y/N was calling me; I answered quickly, worried that something had happened to her.
"Y/N, it’s two in the morning, why are you awake?" I asked her, but the only things I could hear were whispers and an irregular breath.
"Honey, are you okay?".
"N-Nat?".
"Y/N, it’s me. I’m here, what’s going on?" I asked her getting out of bed.
I put the phone on speaker as I started to get dressed to go to her room; in doing so I didn’t even notice that I was wearing her clothes.
"I-I don’t. I need you" she whispered trying to get more air in her lungs without much success.
"Hey, I’m coming, just
Please stay on the phone" I begged her while I was looking for my socks.
There were moments of silence, where the only things I could hear were her hiccups and her attempts to get more air into her lungs. I already had an idea of what was going on, but I was hoping I was wrong. I opened the door and ran quickly to her room, but when JARVIS opened the door, the room was empty.
"Y/N, can you tell me where you are, honey?".
"I see a-a picture of us at the parade l-last year umm
.".
I figured she was in the lab she was sharing with Tony since I suggested she try to create something to try and get her to stop taking drugs. For a while, it also worked, but I don’t think she ever stopped. Maybe she took them but in small amounts.
"Okay, I’m on my way-" I heard the line was down, and I started to panic more and more.
I ran out of the room to the elevator, which unfortunately for me was already going down, so I headed down the stairs and started running down them as fast as I could. I could feel my heartbeat in my ears like the percussion you hear in horror movies.
When I finally arrived, I practically broke the door as hard as I made it slam against the wall and I immediately saw Y/N curled up under her desk.
I approached with caution since I didn’t want to scare her, "Love".
I saw her eyes full of fear, but mostly I noticed her dilated pupils. I looked quickly around the room and saw a razor blade on the desk, next to a ruler. My suspicions continued to increase, and so did my concern.
She kept trying to take breaths, but it was like I could see that her lungs were closed. It was terrifying. Her body kept shaking and her short hair was all messed up.
"Hey, it’s okay. I just need you to start taking big deep breaths. You can do it okay?" I told her slowly and gently, but when I took her hand, I noticed she was all sweaty.
She just shook her head fast, kept crying and saying she couldn’t but I kept breathing slowly and made her feel my heartbeat, hoping that somehow she would calm down.
She finally looked at me and I nodded my head that she could do it. She was looking at me like a scared puppy. She finally tried to copy my breath as I approached her slowly so she wouldn’t panic anymore.
In the end, I came to practically hold her in my arms, and after a while, she stopped trembling, only a few tears fell on her face, but I did not stop whispering sweet and comforting words in her ear.
"Can you please tell me what you took? I just want to help you, my love," I told her calmly once she had completely calmed down.
"Cocaine I think" she whispered.
After that, we remained silent.
"Nat, I’m not feeling well," she said, sitting down fine. I could see she was shaking and sweating even more.
I immediately got up and walked over to Tony’s desk quickly to find the pulse oximeter to measure her heartbeat. With a bit of difficulty, I was able to put it on her finger, and in the minute she was measuring her heartbeat I tried to calm her down a little, hoping she wasn’t overdosing. As soon as the numbers appeared on the thing, I noticed the heartbeat was too fast.
I called Bruce right away to tell him to start preparing the MedBay because I was gonna take her there, and I explained how I found her and what happened before. But while I was on the phone with Bruce, I saw Y/N start to close her eyes
"No, Y/N, no" I put down the phone and sat down next to her again, starting to stimulate her a bit by pinching her cheek so she could hear me and stay awake until Bruce arrived.
At one point, I noticed that she was trying to throw up, so I barely had time to turn her around so she could throw up better and not on herself. But she kept holding on to nothing, and she was practically choking on her own vomit, so, almost crying at the sight, I opened her mouth more and stuck two fingers down her throat trying to get everything she took out.
"Come on, love. Get out of your body that fucking shit" I kept repeating her and finally, after a while, she started vomiting and letting out the alcohol and the substances she had taken, while I kept reassuring her.
I continued to stimulate her slowly but in such a way that she felt that I was there and that I was close to her. After a few minutes Bruce rushed in, followed by Y/N's best friend, Bucky, who immediately picked her up and took her to the infirmary, but as soon as she was put on the table we noticed that she could not breathe well. I immediately ran to her side, tilting her head back so that the airways could work.
When she finally started breathing again, Bruce immediately started checking her heart rate and blood pressure. After he gave her a dose of lorazepam, which he explained was supposed to be one of the best remedies for cases like this, and attached her to machines to monitor her condition, he left, left us alone. That night I fell asleep with her in the chair next to her bed, our hands entwined.
The next morning I woke up with someone stroking my hair. I looked up and saw Y/N looking at me gently. I slowly got up and kissed her, trying not to touch any cables or anything like that. As soon as I came off, she saw that she was going to throw up again, so I ran quickly to get a basket or whatever to make her throw up there.
Once she finally finished, I cleaned her mouth carefully, trying not to hurt her. We were interrupted by Wanda who entered the room like lightning, a murderous look on her face.
"I'm be back after a stressful mission. I came down to have breakfast expecting my sister with open arms and instead" she started to walk fast around the room. "They tell me she overdosed last night for some reason," she finished and turned to look at us, realization had now taken the place of anger.
"Sorry, I didn’t know anything about you two," she said afterward.
"Believe me," Y/N said. "Neither did I," she continued, laughing a little.
"The fact remains. You are a moron," the witch said seriously coming closer to hug her.
They talked a little before Wanda left because she had plans with Vision, leaving us alone. Y/N looked at me and motioned me to lie down next to her. As soon as I lay down she leaned her head on my chest. We kept quiet until she decided to start talking.
"I don’t sleep. I can’t sleep at night. I have no idea when it was the last time I slept for more than two hours. Melatonin, chamomile, all the ways to sleep I tried them, but not even one worked " she said and looked down.
"Okay, I get it. I also had trouble sleeping when I got here, but I didn’t take alcohol and drugs to make me feel better," I started saying. "I learned to ask for help. First Clint and now you. How many times have I come to you to ask if we could sleep together because I couldn’t sleep alone?" I asked her and she answered with a little "many".
"I want to be there for you like you were there for me, okay?" I said and she nodded.
"Do you want to go out with me tomorrow?" she asked me this time, out of nowhere and I was immediately surprised.
"As friends, friends who have had a few kisses, or is it a date?" I asked with a smile.
"Date" she whispered blushing.
"Sure, but now try to get some sleep. That’s all that matters" and with it, she fell back asleep while I watched her swearing on my way that I would help her until my last breath.

The Other Shoe, Part 11
***
Kensi came home that evening while Deeks was still in the backyard spreading wood chips, thanks to an unusual burst of energy. He’d noticed there weren’t so many late nights, making him suspect that tough-as-nails Kilbride was once again giving them a break.
He set the wood chips to the side, meeting Kensi halfway to gif ether a sweaty hug. “Hey, how was work today?”
“Good. If you consider beating up a really annoying criminal and using my Portuguese good,” Kensi replied flippantly.
“Sexy,” Deeks said, leaning down to kiss her. Kensi leaned into the kiss, extending it for several extra seconds.
“How about you?” she asked when they separated.
“My labs were fine, I got that stubborn yucca plant out of the garden,” he paused the briefest of seconds, finishing with, “and Sam’s a match.”
Kensi, who had been nodding along, checking out the now empty spot where the unfortunate yucca had lived, froze. “What?”
“Sam’s an organ match for me. He told me this morning.”
“Oh my god.” Kensi pressed her fingers to her mouth, voice less than a whisper. “You’re not messing with me.”
“Kensi, you know I wouldn’t joke, not about this,” he said and she nodded, looking as stunned as he’d felt since Sam left.
“And what did you
?” she asked just as softly, not able to finished the question. He could see the barely concealed hope in her eyes, overridden by fear.
“I didn’t give him an answer,” Deeks told her honestly.
“Deeks.” Her hand tightened in the front of his shirt.
He closed his eyes, heaving a sigh. He’d argued with himself the whole time since Sam left. Battled with his fear of permanently altering Sam’s life and the stubborn part of him that didn’t want to accept any more help than necessary. The part of him that hated to show so much weakness.
“I, uh, thought about it a lot this afternoon, and, um,” he exhaled shakily through his teeth. “Whoo. I’m going to to through with it. I’m going to tell Sam yes.”
“Really?” she whispered, and when he nodded, her eyes filled with tears. She gasped, a sound of relief and gratefulness, and grasped the sides of his face, pulling him to her for a desperate kiss. “Thank you.” she said in between kisses, her lips wet from the moisture spilling out onto her cheeks.
“Oh my god,” she repeated, covering her cheeks with her hands. “I’m not dreaming, am I?”
The sheer relief in her voice, the way her shoulders caved, made him realize just how much weight she’d been carrying all this time. That realization was followed by a sweeping guilt. As much as he’d convinced himself that it was his battle to fight alone, she been right along side hike every step of the way. Even worse, she’d lived with the horror of watching him slowly fade away.
“I’m sorry,” he blurted out. Kensi frowned, smoothing her thumb over his left eyebrow.
“For what?”
“For being such a stubborn ass through all of this. I made this so much harder than it had to be.”
Kensi’s eyes had furrowed when he started, and now softened into understanding. She stroked his cheek a couple times, the gesture soothing.
“Oh baby, I know you were just trying to protect all of us, like you always do. Because you’re a good man,” she assured him. “And also amazingly stubborn.
They both burst into giggles, shock giving way to giddiness. When they quieted a little, Kensi pressed their foreheads together, and when she spoke again, her voice was hoarse again
“I know how hard this is for you. Thank you for doing it anyway.”
And if he hadn’t known before, that was enough to tell him he’d made the right decision.

Cat watched Riri work with a smile on her face.
"You're making me nervous," Riri told her without looking up.
"Sorry," the mutant chuckled. "It's just crazy, part of me thought for years only Tony was able to do this."
Riri glanced at her. "So you got to know him well?"
"I lived with him... a year?" Cat squinted. "I lived around him, my whole teens. He was like the coolest uncle I could ever hope to get."
Riri chuckled. "They were your family for real? The Avengers?"
"Two years ago I would've told you they were, they tutored me and trained me... but I'm not gonna pretend that what Namor said didn't change the way I view things. Hawkeye said it, their orders were clear, it was their job to train me."
"Must've been hard to realize," the girl stopped what she was doing to look at her. "That you've never had what you thought you had."
"I never said that," Cat grinned. "They cared for me in the end, they were my friends, and that was something. And I did get my own family, brother, father and cousins, uncle and aunt... it's weird, but I like weird."
"When Shuri called you she wasn't convinced that you'd be willing to help, but so far you seem pretty dope."
"Yeah, I've had a complex reputation throughout the years," Cat crossed her arms and leaned against the table. "I couldn't make up my mind about it either."
"But now you have? Make up your mind, I mean..."
Cat patted the girl's shoulder. "As soon as I'm done here I'm going back to New York, and then I hope you clear out your schedule, cause your training will start this summer."
Riri's expression was priceless. "Are you messing with me?"
"Normally I would, but not right now," Cat smirked. "You wanna be an Avenger, kid?"
"Holy shit!" The girl walked away covering his mouth, around them several people threw curious glances.
"Keep working, she's just having a moment," Cat dismissed it with a chuckle.
M.O.U.S.E. spoke to her. "Incoming call: Lucifer."
The mutant's heart squeezed with worry and she walked out of the lab hoping Matt wasn't calling to give her bad news. "Hi, hot shot, what's new?"
There was a short silence at the other end. "You sound... okay."
She chuckled. "Is that bad?"
"I just heard about the queen's death?" He explained. "I wasn't expecting to hear you laughing."
Cat's smile vanished instantly. Her face lost a bit of color. "Right. Yes... she died."
"I thought you'd be upset," he continued, now sounding a little awkward. "I... well, I never forgot what you said about Pietro..."
The woman let out a sad chuckle. "You never forgot, huh?"
"Well, I..." he cleared his throat. "I just wanted to make sure you're okay. Spider-man got really worried when he heard you'd left. I thought you'd called him."
"I didn't, and he didn't call me either cause he knows it's risky. We don't know who could be listening," Cat frowned. "I'm sorry he got worried, but I'm sure by now he knows I'm okay."
"And what happened there? What's going on?"
"It's a long story, and I'm not sure I'm even allowed to talk about it, but I promise I will tell you what I can once I'm back."
"Really?" He sounded surprised. "Okay. But are you safe?"
Cat thought about it. "I've had worse. I mean, yes I was there when the queen died, and I... I saved her at first," she let out a dry laugh. "They were drowning, and I pulled her out while still conscious... but I looked away just a minute..."
"It wasn't your fault, Cat."
"I know that."
"No one blames you, either," he added, his voice had an edge as if he were willing to go to Wakanda and make sure no one did.
"No," Cat frowned, but she was also smiling a little. "It's bizarre, I thought I'd feel guilty 'cause I was there and I drove the bad guys in thinking I'd be able to stop them... but I couldn't."
"And you're okay with that?" He insisted, this time a bit more skeptical.
"I spent a month in a universe where there is only one hero, and he's always exhausted," she began explaining, "when I came back, I realized how stupid it was to think I would be able to control this world with my bare hands. I can't do it alone. I told you I would try again, and I'm doing it, with my friends' help if they think they can do it."
Matt let out a sigh of relief. "Took you long enough."
"'Bout eight years, give or take. Most of my youth... such a waste..."
"I wouldn't call it a waste," he said, those were the years in which they'd met.
Cat grinned. "Okay, not entirely a waste. Better?"
"It will be once you're back," Matthew answered. "The longer you continue to be in plain sight the easier will be for Kraven and Russo to track you. Don't give them the chance."
"Cat?" Shuri came out of the lab. "Your suit is ready."
"I'll give them a chance, Matthew," she said. "To run."
Tumblr media
Cat's chrome-colored suit was an impressive sight when the jaguar cloak had been added. She spotted Shuri standing next to the ship and opened her arms to show off her looks. Shuri smiled. "As striking as the owner. Finally, a suit that matches your personality."
"I'm forever in debt with the person that made it for me," she winked. "I'm all yours, your highness."
Her purple feline eyes had to be covered now most of the time since the reflection of her suit was a bit too much for her, but instead of her goggles, she had a visor that M.O.U.S.E. projected for her and caused the reflection to bounce out without bothering her. He'd been updated with Riri's help.
Cat nudged Shuri's arm, the girl was wearing a Black Panther suit, she'd gone through the transformation. "How does it feel to be super strong?"
"It gives you a new perspective of life... and death."
Cat looked at her knowingly. "I've seen that look before. I know is useless to tell you this now, but I feel like you should know... killing didn't make things better. Having someone there to hold your hand after everything's over... that's what heals you."
Shuri's jaw clenched. "I know this is not the perfect answer."
"But it's the one you want." The girl didn't respond. Cat sighed heavily. "Shuri, I got everything I wanted, and I lost all that was important as a consequence. Look around you," she stared at the beautiful scenery with sad eyes. "Remember your home when you face Namor, and what might happen to it if you kill him."
"You think I'm strong enough to take his life?" She asked bitterly. "Most think I'll die trying."
"I'm certain you can. I told you, I had that look in my eyes once... and I will have it again, soon," Cat said quietly. "But I'll try my best to fight against it, I think you should do the same."
Tumblr media
The fight ended relatively fast, or at least that's how it'd looked at first. Shuri left on the ship that had captured Namor, and Cat prayed to any deity that could be listening, to keep Shuri from ruining her life.
The ship was going nowhere, so Cat and M'Baku approached the captain to see what was going on. "The sonic emitter has been destroyed."
Whales started to surround them, M'Baku mumbled with worry. "That can't be good."
Something exploded under them and the ship tilted sideways. Cat used Wanda's powers to lift herself from the ship's surface and then did her best to push it back to its original position. A spear flew past her.
Some Wakandans had slipped off the ship during the explosion and were at their enemy's mercy, Cat could only think to use Wanda's power to lift a small wave and scatter the warriors away from each other. Then she began to teleport from one place to another to place them back on top of the ship.
"Princess we need that backup now!" Cat announced.
"Okoye!" Was all Shuri replied.
The midnight angels arrived at the scene. Riri shot up into the sky carrying a Dora in her arms, one that Cat hadn't spotted while saving the others. More Talokans started to climb into their ship.
Cat reached under her cloak, pulled a baton, then pressed something in it and it stretched into a fine spear, its two ends made of laser blades that she could reshape however she wanted. "Knife fight it is," she sighed.
Copycat rushed into battle stabbing every blue-skinned person she ran into. The thought of hurting them was less upsetting now that she knew they could not be killed easily. Eventually, the crowd opened and she spotted Attuma, she copied Mr. Parker's power and shot a web at his weapon pulling it back, then landed in front of him.
Cat pointed one end of her spear under his chin. "Hi again," she said in Mayan.
The man scowled at her. "Jaguar."
"Stop calling me that or I'll think you guys respect me," she joked.
Attuma aimed at her chest but Cat stopped his spear with her own, then she kicked him back and aimed for his middle, but he dodged her. He was fast as much as he was strong, but Cat had decided not to use any power now that they were face to face except for the ones she'd developed naturally.
He tried to stab her from above, but Cat split her spear in half and crossed both parts over her head to stop the weapon short. Her knees buckled, but she pushed him back. And she kept pushing until both of her feet were planted firmly on the ground.
Cat uncrossed the blades and his spear grazed her neck, she jumped back in alarm, the feeling bringing unwanted memories. Attuma elbowed the side of her head, nothing protected her from the blow.
The mutant got thrown to the ground, and her batons fell out of reach. Attuma lifted his spear, and she looked up at him, eyes unwavering as he got ready to kill her. Then Namor's voice rose from above them.
"Talokanile'ex!" He called, Shuri was standing by his side. They had come to an agreement. "Let us return home. Our fight here is done."
Attuma and every warrior from his tribe knelt at his orders. Cat felt a throbbing pain on her side, she wasn't sure at which point someone had tried to stab her, but they'd almost succeeded. They hadn't actually injured her thanks to her suit, but the impact of the blade felt like she would find an ugly bruise there later on the day.
Attuma got up and, to her surprise, put his weapon away and offered to help her stand. Cat seized his hand with no hesitation. Once on her feet, she watched as he picked up her batons and put them back together, reassembling her spear. He handed it back.
"Live up to its worth," he pointed at her cape, "or I'll take it back along with your life."
Cat stared at him, overwhelming grief engulfed her. She didn't know if she was worthy to carry the jaguar's mantle, but it was then that she realized excellence was not what she wanted at all, and it had taken half of her friends and family to discover the harsh truth.
At least now she'd made up her mind.

BOOM
that was the first thing that Steve heard before regaining consciousness "Uh Tony did you again?" Steve questions as he feels weird and let so familiar and different at the same time.
"Capsicle, you good?" Tony said from a distance still couldn't see him "Yeah I think s-" A cough came out of his mouth, strange.
"There you ar-Oh MY GOD WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU!" Tony finds me, shocked I'm still confused about what is happening.
"Tony, what is going on, and why are you shocked," I asked Why is he looking at me like that? "Yo-you're SKINNY STEVE." he finally told me and I'M WHAT back to being skinny again.
"I regret to inform you that Natasha Rogers and James Rogers have arrived," Jarvis said and showed a live video, waiting for her husband to come into the lounge.
"Oh sh*t, Steve I'm going to hide you and find a way to get back you're other body back," Tony said while pushing Steve where he could hide.
Steve is also freaking out too not only his wife and son is here. "Should I let them in the lab, sir,"  Jarvis said while Tony covered him with a sheet. "NO DON'T."
"A sheet really Tony, you could have of something ELSE?!" Steve said still being on the sheet, "Don't worry Steve, I'll talk to you're wife and ask why she here?" Tony said as he ran away.
...
"Natalie welcome home and I see you bring my favorite Rogers," Tony said walking towards her and taking 7-month-old James out of her hands.
"Haha hilarious Tony, have you seen Steve?" Natasha said while looking around.
"Nope hasn't seen him," Tony said, "You sure, I asked Jarvis where he is and he said he was in you're lab."
"No." The answer from Tony was NO, she was not buying any of it so she began to walk towards his lab along with tony trying to stop her.
...
"Is you're lab baby proof Stark?"
"Yes, it is."
Tony put James on the ground "Alright little man feel free to do whatever you want."
Natasha gave him a glare after what he just said and start talking to him where the hell is Steve?
As James is clawing around the lab he heard a sneeze came out. "ah-choo!"
Natasha and Tony heard that. "I think that's James Natalie." Tony said trying to convince her what his hoping he believed him.
Natasha give him a glare and a 'hmm' but continued taking to him.
James followed where did the sneeze came from.
He found the sheet and playing with it, Steve peek out to see his son.
"James." He snatch James inside the sheet and trying to keep him quiet.
James didn't recognise his father until his saw his eyes.
James giggles and trying to play with him but Steve
Natasha have noice the lab been quiet for a while. "James honey where are you?"
Tony looked around and directly the sheet and see it moving and ran to it and check inside to see what the hell is going on in there.
"Rogers why the hell James is with you?"
"He probably heard my sneeze." Steve said.
"STARK WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" Natasha screamed out and walked towards him and wondering why is he talking to the a sheet.

"Was that James?" Natasha said before Tony could do something Natasha push him and lift up the sheet and revealed not only her son but her husband who almost unrecognisable.
"Steve?"
"Hi Natasha."
"STARK WHAT THE DID YOU!?" Natasha shouted and walk towards him.
"Wait Natalie I did-n't see R-rogers coming, I didn't mean to change him back I swear." Tony said trying to back away from her wrath.
...
After the whole thing from the lab Tony not only calling Bruce for some help for Steve's cure but also helping him from the bruises after Natasha uh... you know what.
Meanwhile the Rogers family are in the main lobby waiting for the cure.
"Are you ok Steve?" Natasha asked while still holding James trying to play with him.
"Yeah I'm fine surprisingly." Steve said.
Silence came back once again. "I'm sorry Nat for hiding from you and James, it just happens all of sudden and I freaked out, sorry."
"Then why were you hiding from us?" Natasha questioned.
Steve took his time to answer that after all he came back to his old self again.
"Well I didn't want to disappoint you, if you saw me looking like this I'm petty sure you going to leave me."
Natasha was shock of the answer why the hell she would leave him?
"Steve why I would leave you? Just because you turned into you're old self back again doesn't mean I love you less." Natasha said.
"I didn't fell in love of captain America, no I fell in love of Steven grant Rogers the men who didn't see me as a monster but as lover and a mother and gave me a miracle that I can call my son." Natasha said with a smile in her face.
She pulls him for a kiss and happily accepted it.
After broking the kiss for some air Natasha stroking his cheek with love in her eyes with it.
"And I'm greatful for that man being in my life and telling him that he is adorable person and those girls are clearly missing out on."
Natasha was about to pull Steve for another kiss when James interrupted their moment.
"BA." James shouted wanting for some attention.
"Sorry buddy mommy and daddy didn't mean to ignore you." Steve said trying make him feel better.
With a pout in his face he didn't like to be ignored.
Nat laughed just by looking at him, it reminded of Steve alot with the puppy face.
"I live with tiny Steve."
"Really?"
"Really."
A/N: that's it.

"I Love You Like A Table & Take It From An Old Man "
Recipe Book
AO3
Tumblr media
“Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today in celebration of the union between one Nadir Farhad Khan and Megan Anne Giry—“
“Wait! I’ve got some wedding poetry happenin’ right now!”
They were an odd couple, to say the least. But after seven months of being together, many of those moments spent doing the horizontal tango, Nadir proposed. After a successful meeting of his mother over dinner he knew that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his Revolutionary War reenactments with. So one night he snuck into her apartment early and arranged a very romantic candle lit dinner for the two of them where he popped the question. Meg of course said ‘yes’ and showed her fiancĂ© just how much she loved him by riding him faster than Paul Revere could ever dream. They started planning for their wedding right away, Meg already knew she wanted to hold the reception at the diner which took some convincing on Piangi’s part since he didn’t want to lose revenue for a whole day when the ceremony would only take a few hours at most. So they agreed to hold the small wedding between the lunch rush and dinner.
The happy couple also knew they wanted to decorate sparsely, and approached Christine to make a wedding pie instead of cake, since the two love her baking so much. A few weeks later and here they stood, under a white- lace covered arch, friends and family surrounding them, and the delicious smell of pie swirling around them. For her part, Christine went above and beyond when they asked her to make a wedding pie; she made not one, but five pies, increasing in size to mimic a cake sitting on a custom made platter from Piangi. He told them that using the diner and the pie platter are his gifts from him.
They may have moved faster than others, but the newlyweds knew they wouldn’t want to be with anybody else.
“Your white dress
sparks words spontaneous,
I’ll sing from mountain tops
I am in love and I don’t care who knows it!”
“That’s beautiful, Nadir!” Meg complimented her husband, whose dress resembled that of the Civil War era. Bonnet and all.
“Oh, I’m not done.” He told her, much to the disappointment of the awaiting, and hungry, guests.
“Lucky me that I was ordi-nary,
But your love has made me see
That I am a po
poem writer.
I will express this is I am able,
Meg, I love you like a table!”
The bizarre statement caused many guests to look at one another in confusion for his simile. Nadir must have caught wind of the sideways glances because he quickly recanted and explained why he felt what he said.
“N-no no, ya see, my legs were carved for only you; I’m the wood, you are the glue! You can cover me in
stuff, an-and I’ll hold it for you, for however long you need it.” He added flailing arms to help visualize for everyone what he meant as he continued his strange sonnet. “Meg, you make strong and stable, so I love you like a table.” He ended by taking both of her hands within his own.
Even if the sentiment was lost on most people sitting in the folding chairs, it was not lost on Meg,the only woman who could make sense of Nadir’s poetry.
“I love you too. In fact, I tried my own hand at writing vows but I couldn’t find the right words like you.” Then, turning to the audience, “It’s art! You people wouldn’t get it!” Returning her attention to the tuxedo clad man in front of her she continued. “Nadir, I wrote 29 drafts for vows but not one of them rhymed! I don’t know how you do it so
 eloquently.”
With his dark eyes filled to the brim with love for the blonde woman before him, he willed himself not to cry, again, and said to her. “How about we simply promise to do the best we can? I can’t ask you for more than that.”
His sweet words cut through her heart like a hot knife through butter. “And I promise that every time I see your handsome face, I will always want to see it again. I will never get enough of you, Nadir!”
After they finished their vows the minister continued with the typical words of ceremony for this atypical couple in love.
Tumblr media
Finally, the moment had come for Christine to bring in the beautiful creation she made just for today.
“I present to you all, the wedding pie!” Called Carlotta, who wore a sexy yet dignified black pencil skirt, cheetah print top, and a fashionable red neck scarf.
Many gasps and surprised voices came from the guests as they saw the multi-tiered chocolate wedding pie(s). One such voice came from Nadir himself who couldn’t stop exclaiming, “Oh my god!”, over and over again from his enthusiasm.
Not much one for attention, Chistine let Carlotta cut and serve out slices while she stayed behind, watching the various people fall in love with her baking for the first time. It never failed to make her smile.
“You’ve really outdone yourself, Christine. I bet you’re gonna win that contest next week.” Commented Piangi as he came sauntering over in his formal cowboy boots.
She smiled at him. “Thanks for lettin’ me go, Piangi.”
“Well, maybe I’m not such a bad guy
” he trailed off.
“Yeah, maybe
” She said, giving him a knowing look.
“And look at them, happiest day of their lives. They haven’t got a clue the ride they’re in for.” Declared the chef about the newlywed couple.
There was a thought that kept bugging Christine, and she figured she might as well ask, seeing as how he’s right here. “
Piangi, could I ask you a question?”
“Shoot it.”
She took a deep breath before speaking. “Are you happy? Wou-would you call yourself a happy man?” She asked, worrying her thumb between her teeth.
A moment of silence surrounds the pair before he answers her. “Because you’re askin’ a serious question I’ll give you an equal answer. I’m happy enough. I don’t give that much, I don’t get that much, but when somethin’ comes up I try to enjoy it. So, that’s my truth, and you can do whatch ya want with your feminine judgment. I am happy enough.”
His honest answer gave Christine a lot to think about. She doesn’t really know where the question came from, but it must have come from the fact that he was in a somewhat similar position as herself. They were both cheating on their spouse, but Christine wasn’t sure if she wanted to continue, even if it meant giving up her happiness.
Carlotta conveniently disturbed her thoughts by walking up to the awkward pair of the waitress and the chef. “May I have this dance?” She asked, sticking her hand out. Piangi let out a loud sigh before taking her hand, only to be swatted away as if he carried a disease. “Not you! The pretty pregnant lady.”
Christine smiled and took her friend's hand, letting her guide her through the makeshift dance floor of the diner. They danced slowly along with the other couples swinging in time to the music. “I had some big wig spenders yesterday.” Carlotta began, reaching into her bra for a small wad of money. “You can add this to the pot— to help fund your entrance fee—“
“Carlotta! I’m not gonna take your money, not with what you’re dealin’ with at home—“ Christine tried to interrupt, but her stubborn friend would hear none of it.
“Please, just this once! Let me feel a little philanthropic for a second. I don’t want to worryin’ about anythin’ but bakin’ yourself a better life.” Reluctantly, Christine took the money from the redhead, feeling more than blessed to have her in this life. “Hey, do ya think they’ll give you one of those giant checks that are the size of a small couch? Man, I’ve always wondered how you cash one of those..”
Her statement caused both girls to laugh. “Maybe me and you should have an affair.” Christine told her, after their laughter died off.
“Uh uh, no ma’am. I’m in this for a lifetime.” The older woman responded.
Unfortunately their dance was cut short as Old Joe Valerius came hobbling over to the two and effectively shoo’ed off Carlotta. Replacing her, Joe took over as Christine’s new dance partner.
“This reminds me of my third wedding to Anna-Marie Caputo. Now she was a screamer in bed.” His gravelly voice told her.
“I’m gonna make a pie just for you, I’ll call it ‘Old Joe’s Horney Past Pie’.” Replied Christine, shocked by his brazenness.
“I might have to wait on that one.” Christine noticed his eyes suddenly filled with a seriousness she hadn't seen before in his eyes. “My doctor says I shouldn’t be eatin’ that sweet stuff, got my liver actin’ up. They gotta remove a piece of it.”
“Oh Joe
” She sympathized.
“You gotta promise me you’re gonna bake to win, Pie-lady
why’re ya shakin’?”
“Sometimes I just feel like I just settle for a happy enough life, like my mama did. I’m scared of winnin’—but I’m terrified of losin’. Make peace with it, ya know?” She asked him, speaking her truth and in desperate need of some wisdomly words.
“Take it from an old man, there’s never enough time, when you think you have enough, you don’t. It just slips right past ya. I’ve made a lotta mistakes, regrets up the ass, but trust me when I say this; there’s somethin’ special in you. It’s like a light tryna break out, anyone with a pair of eyes can see it. Call it what ya want, a passion or talent, but it shines every time you smile or share a new idea for a pie. I reckon that soon enough, you’ll be seein’ that shining light for yourself because honey, it gets stronger everyday.”
A few tears rolled out of Christine’s eyes, which Joe wiped away in a fatherly manner, causing her to give him a watery smile in thanks. “Last thing I’ll say is this: when you feel like you lack the strength to stand on your own, you don’t have to stand alone. You’ve got a whole diner of people tryna help you, people who believe in you. Should start believein’ in yourself.”
The incredibly heartfelt talk that he gave her was everything and more that Christine needed. She reached her arms around his slightly taller neck and gave him a grateful hug, which he tried to return with one hand on his cane.
Disaster struck as Christine was torn away from the older gentleman by Raoul, who had a dangerous look in his eyes. “Excuse me but I gotta borrow my wife.” He said to Joe. Then mush softer for only her to hear, “Say your goodbyes, we’re goin’ home.”
Joe tried to intervene, but got called out by Raoul and his angry words, causing a scene for the wedding guests to watch. Piangi made his way over to him, trying to escalate the situation. “Hey man, c’mon.”
“Don’t,” Christine told him, “it’ll only make it worse.”
As she was dragged by the elbow through the diner to the car, she tried her best to tell her friends she would be okay.
“Christine, please stay—“ begged Meg.
“I’m sorry, bye sweetheart—“
“Don’t leave!” Exclaimed Carlotta.
“I love you, congratulations!” She tried to shout as she was pulled through the front doors.
Raoul was silent the entire ride home. Something really bad must have happened, but she couldn’t begin to think of what. Christine kept her hands on her stomach to remind herself that she wasn’t going to go through whatever happens alone.

Peppermint
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Synopsis: when you wear peppermint chapstick, you discover Peter hates peppermint
Masterlist
Tumblr media
It started as an ordinary day.
You saw Peter and Ned in the dining hall between classes and went to join them like you normally did.
“Hi.” Peter smiled up at you from his seat when he saw you approaching.
“Hi, Petey.” You wrapped your arms around his shoulders before moving to kiss him. He craned his neck to kiss you back but pulled away sooner than usually.
It only went downhill from there.
You looked at him curiously and sat down, wondering why he stopped kissing you so fast.
“Oh.” He grimaced as he puckered his lips.
“What?” You looked between him and Ned, hoping someone had answers.
“You’ve made a bold choice today.” Peter nodded as he wiped his mouth off on the back of his hand.
“What?” You laughed in surprised.
“A lot of bold flavors going on.” He continued, taking out a napkin to wipe his mouth.
“What is he talking about?” You asked Ned when Peter gave you no answers.
“Oh, I see.” Ned realized. “Is your chapstick spearmint?”
“No, I think it’s-“
“Peppermint.” Peter cut you off with a sour face. “It’s peppermint.”
“Am I missing something?” Your eyes shifted between the boys, still extremely confused.
“Peter hates peppermint.” Ned told you.
“You do?” You laughed and looked at your boyfriend. “Why?”
“It’s so gross. Oh my God, it’s still on me.” Peter gagged as he wiped his lips again.
“What is your problem?” You raised an eyebrow at his odd behavior. “You don’t want to be minty fresh?”
“Thats not minty fresh. That’s disgusting.” He shook his head and rubbed his face. “Ew, my hands smell like it now.”
“How did I not know you hate peppermint?” You sat back in your chair as you wondered out loud. “Is this why you threw up my my gingerbread house party last year?”
“Yes.” Peter answered. “And I guess I never told you because I assumed you would know I hate the most putrid smell on earth.”
“Peppermint is not putrid.” You laughed again, still not taking this seriously. “It’s sweet and minty.”
“No.” Peter shook his head repeatedly. “Evil spawn.”
“No, not evil spawn.” You insisted. “It’s a nice scent.”
“Princess, you know I hate to disagree with you, but I’m pretty sure Satan keeps a an diffuser with peppermint essential oil on at all times in hell.” Peter told you as he squeezed your hand.
“Now you’re just being dramatic.” You teased. “It’s just chapstick.”
You leaned in to kiss him again and he put his hand on your face to push you away.
“No. I can’t.” He gagged. “It’s too gross.”
You stared at him with a dropped jaw, not believing he just pushed you away. You realized that this wasn’t a joke to him and he actually hated peppermint.
“Fine.” You shrugged. “Then I just won’t kiss you today.”
Peter said nothing to this and instead nodded, as if he agreed. You raised an eyebrow, expecting him to object like he usually did if you said you weren’t going to kiss him. Peter was a very affection person, so you often teased him by threatening to withhold affection. You looked at Ned to see if he was seeing what you were seeing, and Ned looked scared.
“Oh No.” He gulped. “This isn’t good.”
“Peter!” You softly hit his arm, making him jump.
“What?” He asked.
“You’re supposed to protest!” You told him. “I’m your girlfriend and I just told you I’m not gonna kiss you.”
“And I’m being a good boyfriend and supporting your idea.” He smiled sweetly at you and rubbed your back. You scoffed and looked at Ned for help, but he offered none.
“School is the only place we can kiss each other anytime we want.” You reminded him. “You know Avengers are still banned from dating at the tower. Are you seriously not going to kiss me because of my chapstick?”
“It’s not because of your chapstick.” Peter told you. “It’s because of the scent of your chapstick.”
“Are you sure this is how you want to play this?” You asked Peter, giving him a chance to change his mind.
“Um
yes?” He said weakly, now worried about your sudden mood change.
“Fine.” You shrugged and stood up. “Then I’ll see you at the tower.”
“You’re not eating with us?” He asked, giving you puppy dog eyes.
“No.” You gave him a tight smile. “Clearly and me and my lips are not welcome here.”
You turned on your heel and walked away, leaving Peter and Ned alone.
“Bye!” Peter called after you. “I love you!”
“That went well for you.” Ned chuckled once you were out of sight.
“You don’t think she’s actually mad at me, is she?” Peter wondered.
“No.” MJ said, making Peter and Ned jump. “She’s not mad at you. She’s upset that you didn’t want to kiss her.”
“How long have you been listening?” Ned asked as he looked up at her.
“Since Ned said Senora Chavez had a nice ass.” MJ stated as she sat down next to Ned. “Listen, I know Y/n better than anyone-“
“Uh, I disagree.” Peter cut in. “Hi, Y/n’s boyfriends, nice to meet you.”
“Cute.” MJ deadpanned. “Best friend trumps boyfriend. Everyone knows that.”
“That’s not true.” Peter snorted. “Is it?”
“No.” Ned answered. “But I also don’t know.”
“What I’m trying to say is, you won’t win this.” MJ continued. “You have to get over your little peppermint tantrum or she won’t kiss you. Simple as that.”
“She can kiss me as long as she’s not wearing peppermint chapstick.” Peter shrugged, not seeing anything wrong with what had happened.
“She’s not gonna stop wearing peppermint chapstick, dummy.” MJ flicked him on the side of the head. “You just started a fight.”
“What? That wasn’t a fight.” Peter insisted.
“It’s a silent fight.” MJ explained. “She’s not gonna say anything about it and wait for you to apologize. If you don’t, then it becomes a real fight.”
“Apologize for what? For hating the worst smell in the world?” Peter scoffed.
“For being a diva and calling her gross.” MJ said like it was obvious.
“I didn’t call her gross.” Peter corrected. “I called her choices gross.”
“And that’s where you fucked up.” MJ made a face. “It’s fine if you don’t want my help, but you’re gonna lose your girlfriend over it.”
“That’s ridiculous.” Peter laughed in dismissal. “I am not going to lose Y/n over something as meaningless as peppermint chapstick.”
“See for yourself.” MJ shrugged and got up. “Later losers.”
Peter sat in silence for a moment as he thought about what MJ had said. You did seem upset when you left, so MJ might be right.
“You don’t think
” Peter began, and Ned knew where it was going.
“No.” Ned assured him. “But also I don’t know.”
“I’m sure we’re fine.” Peter said to convince himself. “It’s just chapstick.”
“Yeah.” Ned agreed. “Unless it’s not.”
“Yeah.” Peter worried. “Unless it’s not.”
~
Peter couldn’t keep the interaction off his mind all day. He could barely focus in the lab later that day when Tony had to take of you writing down chemical reactions he needed in a future experiment. If you were mad, you didn’t let on. But you also didn’t give Peter the impression that everything was fine. After ten minutes of writing in silence, he poked you with his pen.
“Psst.” He whispered.
“What?” You whispered back.
“You look pretty today.” Peter smiled softly at you.
“Oh yeah?” You tilted your head. “Then kiss me.”
Peter’s face fell, cheeky smile long gone.
“I can’t.” He whispered again.
“And why’s that?” You stopped writing to give him your full attention. Peter looked up as he thought of a good enough lie to tell you.
“I’m waiting for marriage.” He answered finally, making you nod your head.
“Were you waiting for marriage when we had sex last week?” You kept your tone neutral.
“I temporarily stopped waiting and I have now resumed.” He corrected himself.
“You’re an imbecile.” You spoke at full volume now, earning a glance from Tony.
“I hate peppermint!” Peter whined. “It’s gross!”
“Dumb and Dumber.” Tony called to you. “Is everything okay over there?”
“Yes, sir.” Peter calmed down. “Sorry, sir.”
“You’re gonna be sorry.” You laughed humorlessly as you started writing again.
“Princess.” Peter softened his voice and stroked your hair. “Just take it off and we can go back to normal.”
“I don’t want to take it off.” You shrugged. “In fact, I think I need some more.”
“Don’t.” Peter deadpanned as you reached into your pocket and took out your chapstick. You smiled sweetly at him before generously lathering the chapstick on your lips.
“Ew!” Peter began to dry heave and got out of his chair. “I’m gonna barf.”
“All right. That’s enough.” Tony sighed and stopped working. “Peter, hit the showers or something. I need you out of here.”
“Gladly.” Peter said as he glared at you.
“Gladly?” You raised an eyebrow. “And you said I was bold?”
“Y/n. You too. Out now.” Tony commanded so you gathered your things. You started putting on chapstick again, maintaining eye contact with Peter as you did it. He gagged before clutched your stomach while pinching his nose. You blew him a minty kiss before walking out of the lab with Peter following behind you.
“Are you happy now? Are you pleased as punch, Parker?” You spat as he continued walking. “Mr. Stark probably thinks we’re crazy now. Or even better, he’s gonna figure out that we’re together.”
Peter ignored you and kept walking, not wanting to talk when he was angry.
“You know what?” You continued. “He’s probably right. Since only crazy people would hate the luscious, beautiful smell of peppermint.”
Peter suddenly turned around and grabbed you, rubbing his hands over your lips to wipe off the chapstick.
“How dare you?” You gasped. “You ghoul!”
“You’re the ghoul!” He shouted back. ïżœïżœïżœPeppermint is a sin!”
Steve and Nat, who were sitting in the living room and watching this unfold, exchanged a look.
“It is not!” You shouted. “You’re just being dramatic!”
“I can’t help it.” He shrugged. “This calls for drama. I hate it so much.”
“How much?” You asked as you slathered it on again. “How much do you hate it?”
“Please.” He covered his mouth and gagged. “I’m gonna be sick.”
“You need to get over this. It’s just a flavor.” You insisted.
“Demon flavor.” He shot back, hunched over with his hands in his knees and coughing.
“This is super weird, right?” Steve whispered to Nat.
“Yeah.” She nodded as she watched the scene in front of her with a disgusted look. “I think we should go.”
You watched Steve and Nat leave the room, feeling embarrassed with the strange looks they gave you. No one actually knew you and Peter were together, so you could only imagine what they were thinking. You looked back at Peter and saw that he was still gagging, bringing you to a decision.
“Fine, Peter.” You sighed and rubbed your mouth on the back of your hand. “I wiped it off. Are you okay?”
You crouched beside him and rubbed his back, worried he was actually going to puke. He slowly stood up and blew out a breath before nodding.
“Yeah. I’m sorry.” He frowned at you. “I didn’t mean to raise my voice at you.”
“I’m sorry too.” You said as you rubbed his shoulders. “We shouldn’t be yelling at each other in the hallway. Someone’s either gonna realize we’re dating or think we’re unstable.”
“Yeah. We do look a bit ridiculous.” He laughed shyly as he looked around.
“Yeah.” You chuckled as wrapped your arms around his neck. “And I’m sorry about the chapstick. I didn’t know you didn’t like it.”
“It’s my fault.” He insisted. “I should have told you. And I definitely shouldn’t have gotten that upset.”
“Maybe not.” You agreed. “But I should not have taunted you after I knew you hated it. That was mean.”
“Just a little.” He pinched his fingers together. “Are we okay now?”
“We’re okay. I love you, Petey.” You rubbed your thumb over his cheek, happy to have resolved it.
“I love you too, princess.” He smiled before leaning in to kiss you. Before your lips could touch, he sharply pulled away.
“Oh no.” He said gravely.
“What?”
“I smell it.” He squeezed his eyes shut, trying not to freak out.
“It?” You wondered.
“Your chapstick.” He admitted, making your groan. “I can smell it from here.”
“I wiped it off.” You whined, pulling your arms away from him.
“The smell.” He gagged. “It lingered. I cant kiss you. I’m sorry.”
“Are you serious?” You out your hands on your hips and stared at him.
“Yes.” He answered. “I’m sorry. Can we make up but not kiss?”
“You’re not gonna kiss me because of a lingering smell of peppermint?” You said as more than a statement than a question.
“This is true, yes.” Peter nodded.
“Then I’ll see you later, Parker.” You shook your head and walked away from him. Peter sighed sadly as he watched you walk away, knowing that wasn’t how he wanted to end things.
“What was that about?” Sam asked as he wandered into the hallway. He overhead the fight from the kitchen and arrived in time to watch you leaving.
“Um.” Peter thought of a way to explain what just happened. “We had a little fight.”
“About what?” He pressed.
“Y/n is wearing peppermint chapstick today.” Peter answered honestly.
“And that concerns you because
?” Sam questioned.
“I don’t like the scent of peppermint.” Peter scoffed. “Does that make me a monster?”
“So what?” Sam snorted. “It’s not like you’re kissing her.”
Peter turned his face to the side so Sam wouldn’t see his inability to keep a secret.
“Hm.” Peter nodded stiffly. “Yes. It is not like I am kissing her. That was be absurd.”
“Right.” Sam said skeptically. “Because Avengers aren’t allowed to date each other. You know that, right?”
“I know.” Peter nodded too many times. “We’re not dating. I just hate peppermint.”
“For arguments sake, let’s say you were dating.” Sam began. “Because everyone knows that you are but no one cares enough to report you.”
“What?” Peter forced a laugh. “That’s ridiculous. We’re not dating.”
“Yeah. And I’m white.” Sam humored him. “If you were dating and fighting over the flavor of her chapstick, I’d give you one piece of advice.”
“What’s that?” Peter asked.
“Get over it and go kiss your girlfriend.” Sam sighed. “It’s just a flavor, but she’s not just a girl. Don’t risk a good thing over a bad scent.”
“Wow.” Peter soaked it in. “That’s pretty good advice. Thanks Sam. I always thought you didn’t like me.”
“I don’t.” Sam told him. “But I like Y/n. And I don’t want to live in this tower while you two are going through a messy breakup. So make up or shut up. Your choice.”
“Okay.” Peter nodded confidently. “I know what I have to do.”
~
Peter went back to his room and began to brainstorm ways to make it up to you. Before he could put his plans into motion, he heard a knock at his door.
“Come in”. He called from his bed.
“Hey, Petey.” You spoke timidly as you opened his door. You weren’t sure if he was mad at you or not, and he was wondering the same thing about you.
“Hey, princess.” Peter smiled softly. “It’s nice to see you. I’m glad you came to see me.”
“I missed you.” You smiled back as you sat on his bed. “Whatcha doing?”
“Just taking my daily vitamins.” Peter said as he laid his gummies out. You furrowed your eyebrows and moved his hand to see what his vitamins looked like.
“These are fruit snacks.” You told him as you held up a bright orange gummy.
“I’m so fragile right now.” Peter whispered before downing his fruit snacks in one go. You chuckled a little at your boyfriends antics and scooted closer to him.
“Talk to me about it.” You said as you rubbed his arm.
“I feel as though our relationship is not in mint condition.” Peter said without looking up at you. You caught on to his pun and let out a groan.
“Peter.”
“I’m sorry.” He smiled weakly. “You look beautiful.”
“What are you doing?” You asked skeptically.
“Giving you a compli-mint.” He fed you another pun.
“You don’t have to do this.” You assured him. “I caved. I’m wearing cherry chapstick.”
“You are?” His eyes lit up.
“Yeah. I threw the other one out.” You shrugged. “I don’t even like the smell of it. It was just the first one I grabbed this morning.”
“You don’t like the smell either?”
“It’s a little harsh on my nose.” You scrunched your nose. “Plus, it burns my lips.”
“You know what this means, don’t you?” Peter smiled wickedly.
“What does this mean?” You laughed.
“We are mint to be.” He said with a cheeky smile.
“Stop.” You whined. “The fight is over. No more puns.”
“Okay, I’ll stop.” He held up his hands. “I’m sorry I yelled at you. And I’m sorry I wouldn’t kiss you all day.”
“I’m sorry I yelled too.” You frowned and cupped his chin. “You can make up for it by kissing me now.”
Peter nodded happily and leaned in to kiss you, giving you a real kiss this time. He pulled away and kept his lips puckered, realizing he was tricked.
“You’re wearing peppermint chapstick.” He said matter of factly.
“Yep.” You smiled. “And you didn’t die, vomit, or burst into flames.”
“Hm.” Peter realized you were right. “It stings my lips a little. I kinda like it.”
“See? It’s not that bad.”
“Oh, it’s bad.” Peter corrected. “It’s just not as bad as I thought. Maybe I was a little too dramatic.”
“Maybe?” You teased.
“Fine.” Peter agreed. “But you knew I was dramatic before you started dating me. If anything, this is all your fault.”
“Why don’t we blame this on the entire concept of peppermint of call it a night?” You suggested and you laid down on his bed. Peter laid down beside you and wrapped his arm around you, still rubbing his lips together.
“You know what, princess? That sounds like a great idea.”

VI. Traitor
Tumblr media
Pairing: Druig x Eleni (female oc)
Summary: Eleni discovers that Ikaris has been lying about the death of Ajak
Accepting requests(:
SPOILER WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN ETERNALS YET
“You’re gonna go after him aren’t you?” Druig asked.
“He’s just upset. Someone needs to convince him that what we’re doing is right.” Eleni glared at him.
“Eleni.” Druig grabbed her arm as she turned to walk out of the lab.
“What, Druig?” She snapped.
“Can we please talk?”
“In a moment. I need to go get Ikaris.” She replied.
“Do you love him?” Druig asked, following her down the hallway.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Druig.” She huffed.
“I know about you two. Thena told me. And I can read your thoughts. You’re worried about me finding out.”
Eleni paused and turned to look at him, trying to hide the surprise that he knew about their very short lived and very obviously a rebound romance between her and Ikaris.
“That was centuries ago and it didn’t even last long. We both needed distractions, that’s all. Besides, you walked out on me, remember? Why does it matter what I did in my period of heartbreak?” Eleni turned on her heel and started jogging down the hall to find Ikaris.
She ran outside and looked around for Ikaris. She knew that this battle would be harder without him. They needed him if they were going to win this. Druig was powerful, but it would take more than just him if they were going to put a Celestial to sleep.
“Ikaris!” Eleni sighed in relief when she saw him. “Please come back. We can’t do this without you.”
“You know that we shouldn’t be doing this.” He said. “We’re disobeying Arishem, preventing billions across the universe from being born.”
“I love this planet. I love it’s people and I love it’s beauty. After everything they’ve been through, are you sure you want them to die this way?” She put her hand on his shoulder.
“If I remember correctly, you described this planet as your personal hell.” Ikaris said.
“That was a long time ago. We watched this planet flower. I fell in love with it. Is that such a bad thing?” Eleni asked.
“Yes. We were told not to get attached to this planet, Eleni. Please. Join me, we can stop this madness. Or Arishem will kill us all.” Ikaris grabbed her shoulders.
“How long have you known?” Eleni asked, tears brimming her eyes. This revelation that Ikaris had known this entire time didn’t wash over her lightly. All of the moments that he was acting suspicious, she now realized that it was because he knew.
“Ajak told me after we left Babylon.” Ikaris replied after a moment of silence. “But this is what she wanted. She wanted us to be safe. We won’t be safe if we directly go against Arishem. Please, Eleni. You can help me convince the others.”
“You knew and you didn’t say anything? We lived together for a century.” Eleni tried to step away but Ikaris’ grip on her shoulders prevented her from moving. She almost wished he did say something all those years ago when they were sat in her kitchen. Maybe if he had said something then when she hated the world, she would have been onboard this entire time. Now that she loved the world she lived in, this decision felt impossible. Eleni looked up to Ikaris her entire life and as she always said she’d follow him to the end, like she always has.
“I didn’t know how you’d take it. I wanted to protect you.” Ikaris said, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. She couldn’t tell if he was crying because he wasn’t getting his way, or if he actually cared that he had hurt her.
“I don’t know if I believe you.” She pried his hands off of her shoulders and stepped backwards. “If this is what Ajak wanted then why did she chose Sersi to lead us? Did you see her before she died?”
“Eleni, please.”
“You saw her? How could you let her die? Where were you? Why did you leave her?” Eleni walked back towards him, drilling him with questions. She felt sick when she saw the look on his face. “You killed her.”
“I had no choice.” He said.
“No. No you didn’t.” Eleni covered her mouth as Ikaris reached out for her. “Ikaris, you didn’t. Please tell me you didn’t.” She rested her forehead against his chest as she sobbed. “How could you?” She yelled pushing him away. She hit his chest when he tried moving towards her again.
“Please.” Ikaris said again.
“I trusted you!” She yelled. He reached his hands out and she screamed at the top of her lungs, the soundwaves throwing Ikaris onto his back, covering his ears. She took off sprinting back to the ship so she could tell the others. She didn’t know how much time her banshee scream would give her considering how strong Ikaris was.
“Druig!” She yelled, as she ran down the hallways of the Domo. “Druig!” She rounded the corner at full speed nearly colliding into the wall. Druig could hear her panicked thoughts before she even stepped foot onto the ship. “Sersi!”
She finally reached the lab where everyone turned their full attention to her. Druig was the first one in front of her as he cupped her cheeks. “What is it, my love? What happened?”
“It’s Ikaris.” She was out of breath for many reasons. Sprinting here, using her entire lung capacity to scream Ikaris into oblivion, the amount of tears that she was crying.
“What happened?” Sersi asked. “Is he okay?”
As Eleni was about to answer, she was thrown back into the wall by Ikaris shooting beams into her shoulder. Druig quickly lunged for Ikaris, reaching for his throat but was quickly stopped by Kingo. Kingo knew that was a fight he wouldn’t win. Druig broke out of Kingo’s grasp and rushed to her side to make sure she was okay.
“I’m sorry it had to be this way, Eleni.” Ikaris said.
Druig stood up, pulling Eleni up with him. He stepped in front of her, shielding her from any other attacks Ikaris might try. There was no way for Eleni to focus on anything her fellow eternals were saying with the pain in her shoulder so she closed her eyes and tried to breathe through it.
“He killed her.” Druig said and that was the only voice she could focus on.
“It’s true.” Eleni added, looking at Ikaris. If she wasn’t so blindsided by everything she might admit that there was hurt in Ikaris’ eyes at the thought of what he did. But at the end of the day, she could no longer see him as anything but evil.
After the ordeal was over and Ikaris and Sprite fled, Eleni found herself sitting in the quiet part of the ship. Sersi was off having a mental breakdown just like she was and she was almost positive that this war was lost. Earth would be destroyed by Tiamut, they’d be called home, their memories erased, and then just shipped off to another planet.
“El..” She turned her head at Druig’s soft voice. He hated seeing how distraught she was. He could only imagine what she was feeling in this moment. She didn’t hesitate to stand up and pull him into a hug. “You must feel so betrayed. I know how much you looked up to Ikaris.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry? Listen to me, don’t be sorry. This isn’t your fault, my love.” Druig shook his head, resting his chin on top of her head.
“I should have gone to you. Centuries ago. I let my anger get the best of me.” She said looking up at him. “Now this is the end, and we won’t remember anything on the next planet.”
“Look at me.” He cupped her cheeks. “Any planet in any timeline, you and I will find our way to each other. I promise.”
“I love you.” She said to him for the first time in two thousand years even though she carried the feeling in hear heart the entire time.
“I love you.” He replied.
“Kiss me.” She said under her breath. He didn’t need to be told twice.
Druig’s thumb brushed against her cheek and he leaned down, pressing his lips to hers. He savored every moment their lips were touching, memorizing every inch of her, how she felt. He wouldn’t remember this on the next planet so he did everything in his power to enjoy it now.
“Eleni! Druig!” They pulled away at the sound of Phastos running down the hall. “I figured it out!”
“Well, I definitely didn’t miss our family interrupting our moments together.” Druig said after pulling away.
“Shh.” She laughed lightly and walked towards Phastos who immediately began explaining his plan to her.
Druig stood back and watched the hope return to her eyes to which it also returned to his.

It’s Been A Long, Long Time | Alpha!Bucky x Omega!Reader ch 3
Summary: When HYDRA had their prized asset, the Winter Soldier, they did something no one ever thought was possible: they gave super soldier serum to an omega. With the sole purpose of tending to him during his ruts, she spends decades living in HYDRA facilities, denied her humanity and her life. Now, years later, Bucky Barnes has his mind and his own life back
and the last thing he ever expects is to see a familiar omega again. Bucky/OC, a little angsty but mostly smutty/fluffy/romantic!
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
Warnings: A/B/O, some light angst
Tags:  @kyrah-williams  @oceanmermaidwitch @shawnie--jo
Amoretta woke to the sound of a familiar alarm blaring through the compound. It was loud enough to make her wince and curl up, seeking out the warmth of her alpha while he laid next to her. She knew what the sound meant; he was officially finished with his rut, and they were going to be separated again.
The thought made her heart ache. She couldn’t take much more of this. All she wanted was to stay by his side, her instincts telling her that he was the perfect one to watch over and protect her even if she didn’t need a protector. Though all of her suppressants greatly toned down the way she yearned and cried for him, nothing could erase those feelings completely, and each time the guards came to take him away from her, it hurt a little bit more.
“‘Mega,” he said, voice extra low and rumbly from sleeping.
“Alpha,” she sighed, rubbing her nose against his neck.
He returned the gesture, tucking his face down into her scent gland and inhaling deeply. Even though she didn’t smell as strongly as omegas he encountered while out in the field, he loved her scent more than anything he had ever found before. Plus, her own scent being weaker meant that it was easier to cover her with his, and before the guards could come in and order him to leave, he made sure to rub his own gland all over her hair.
Amoretta sighed happily as he scented her, enjoying the smell of motor oil and cloves. If she was lucky, it wouldn’t fade before she got to see him again, and she would be able to at least catch a slight hint of him in her hair whenever she moved.
“My omega,” the soldier purred, nosing her cheek to try and get her to look at him.
She smiled softly, placing a hand on his jaw. “Your omega.”
The sound of a metal door sliding open made her close her eyes. She didn’t want this to end. She didn’t want to go back to her cell and spend another three months bored.
“Longing,” a Russian voice over the intercom suddenly said.
Amoretta let out a dejected breath. They were taking him away again.
Her alpha moved to get up, listening to the words he had heard countless times before. His body was moving of its own volition, his limbs untangling themselves from hers even though he wanted to stay right there with her forever.
“Rusted.”
He growled softly, a hand lingering on his omega’s neck.
“Furnace.”
“Don’t go,” she whimpered, staring up at him with big, sad eyes.
His hand moved to cup her cheek, a calloused thumb brushing over her skin. He didn’t want to go. He wanted to do as she asked.
“Daybreak.”
He knew he was supposed to listen to the trigger words. They always commanded him, keeping him in check so that he could never have too much free thought. This time, he knew they would be followed by orders to get up and go back to his quarters so that he could await further instruction.
But he didn’t want to.
“Seventeen.”
He couldn’t remember the last time he had had such a strong urge to disobey. It wasn’t overpowering, by any means, but it was enough for him to hesitate instead of walking away immediately.
“Benign.”
The omega on the cot looked distraught.  He didn’t like it. He wanted her to be looking at him, paying attention to him, keeping her focus on him. She shouldn’t be staring at the wall, averting her gaze from the naked alpha before her.
“”Mega,” the soldier said, getting her attention again.
“Nine.”
“Hm?” she looked at him, and she felt like she was getting caught up in those icy blue eyes.
“Homecoming.”
For a moment, he just looked down at her. She was so lovely, so perfect.
“Be good.” he said.
She sat up slightly, staring at him. He had never said that before, not like that, not in that way. He called her good omega, good girl, pretty omega...he told her to be obedient, he praised her whenever she listened to him...but he had never told her be good, not with that tone. It was almost like...a warning, or...a promise?
“One.”
His nostrils flared, chest heaving with a sigh as he turned away from her.
“Wait!” she called, reaching for him.
But he was already facing the door.
“Freight car.”
The soldier bowed his head. “Ready to comply.”
Amoretta let out a pitiful wail, watching helplessly as her alpha was ordered to return to his cell. The worst part was how he did so, and he seemed so willing to leave her behind. She knew he was under HYDRA’s full control, she knew that they liked to go in and mess with his brain whenever he showed any independence, but it still felt like she was being broken up with every single time she had to watch him leave.
“Omega,” the voice said as the door slid shut. “Return to your cell and prepare for cryo.”
Another door opened and she stood slowly, wiping away tears that she knew she shouldn’t have had. She felt stupid for caring so much. Her hopes for a better, normal life were always crushed whenever HYDRA separated them again, and watching him walk away like that without a glance back at her was taking its toll on her emotional health.
Without much other choice, she trudged down the narrow corridor, dragging her feet despite the threat of the cattle prods behind her. While the soldier was obedient enough to be allowed to walk on his own, they never trusted Amoretta, still all too aware of how much she liked to lash out at her handlers.
They shoved her into her holding cell, where she spent about an hour waiting around before they returned to drag her off to the lab. Sometimes, when the soldier wasn’t going to be needed for a while, HYDRA put him in cryo. Amoretta once heard a doctor saying that it was to preserve his longevity, but she was pretty sure it was just that they didn’t want to deal with him all the time. When that happened, they put her into cryogenesis, too, letting her sleep until her alpha was thawed out.
She supposed she should be grateful for the long naps, sometimes spending months or even years at a time not having to think about the way that HYDRA kept her as a prisoner, but she hated it. She didn’t like being away from her alpha, and whenever they brought her back out of cryo, she had a tendency to get sick.
It wasn’t pleasant.
This time, as the doctors strapped her down, she snarled at them. She was tired of this, tired of her life with HYDRA. She was reaching her breaking point, finally.
“Quiet,” a beta doctor snapped, picking up a syringe.
Amoretta rolled her eyes. “Or what?”
He glared at her. “You don’t want to find out.”
“You won’t get rid of me. You need me.” she growled.
“We don’t need you.” the man scoffed. “We can easily find another omega that can take the serum. You aren’t special, Subject 1096.”
“Oh yeah? Then why don’t you?” she dared to ask. “Why give me a number and keep me around for so long if I’m not important?”
“You omegas are always so sappy.” he said, a disgusted tone to his voice. “You’re convinced the Winter Soldier is your mate, aren’t you?”
“He seems to think so.” she said defensively.
“Does he?” the doctor pressed the needle to her arm. “Or is he just happy to have something around to fuck?”
Amoretta wanted to bite his hand off for being so rude. She wanted to scream and snap and thrash, proving that they had made a mistake when they decided to give her of all omegas the serum. She was stronger than they knew. She could tear this doctor apart if she got ahold of his hand as he stood just out of her reach. Amoretta wanted HYDRA to regret the day they chose to make her so powerful.
But the tranquilizer was already being injected into her veins, and she could feel herself floating away. Her vision swam, her skin suddenly feeling cold as she was lowered into her cryo pod for a nice, long, icy nap.
She wished her soldier was there with her, but he wasn’t. Instead, she was all alone, left to sleep and hope for sweet dreams filled with his cold blue eyes and the low rumble of his voice.
--
“Widow, you copy?”
“Loud and clear, Cap.” a feminine voice said through the earpiece.
Steve Rogers nodded to himself as he crept through the dark hallways. Checking out abandoned HYDRA bases wasn’t his favorite pastime, but it was an important one, and he’d be damned if he let Nat and Clint go without him for a mission like this. Besides, he owed it to Bucky to make sure everything was taken care of; he knew how much it frustrated his friend that he wasn’t allowed near HYDRA facilities yet.
But they just couldn’t risk anything happening, not when he had finally managed to free himself of HYDRA’s influence on his mind.
Thanks, Wakanda.
“What’s your position, Cap?” Natasha asked.
“Northeast hall,” Steve answered as he rounded a corner. “Looks like medical facilities. There’s no sign of--”
As soon as he had opened his mouth, a row of low emergency lights flickered to life on the floor, illuminating his path and bathing the hallway in a red glow.
“There’s still power. Stay alert.” he warned.
“Copy that.”
Shield in hand, Steve made his way to a set of doors, nudging them open as quietly as he could.
He really wasn’t expecting what he saw.
He had definitely stepped into some sort of medical bay, gurneys and instruments left abandoned whenever HYDRA had up and left this place. If it weren’t for the staleness of the air and complete absence of life, it would have looked like the doctors had been there only moments before.
As Steve made his way around crude operating tables, sheet plastic crinkling under his boots, he spotted a soft blue glow coming from a small doorway in the corner of the room. He adjusted his grip, keeping his shield raised just in case, but as he neared the lightsource, he lowered it again.
“Nat, you’re gonna wanna come see this.”
It only took a few minutes for Black Widow to reach her teammate, and when she did, she let out a low whistle.
“That’s a cryo pod.” she said, leaning towards the metal device. “And it sure looks like it’s being used.”
“Is whoever’s in it alive?” Steve asked.
“Only one way to find out. Care to do the honors?” Natasha nodded towards the metal handle on the front of the pod.
“Is this safe?” Steve put down his shield.
“This place has been abandoned since the late 80s. Seems like the end of the Cold War scared HYDRA away from a lot of their bases.” Natasha said, peering through the small, frosted glass window into the pod. “But there’s definitely someone in there.”
“Well, we can’t exactly lug this whole thing out to the plane,” Steve sighed, grabbing the heavy metal handle.
As he wrenched it to the side, he could hear a pneumatic hiss, air rushing out of the lock. With a heavy clang, the pod opened, and Steve was able to pull the door to the side.
Doing so revealed a young woman, her scent too muted by the chill of cryo sleep to tell what her secondary gender was. She was nude, the sight of her causing Steve to avert his gaze in embarrassment. Natasha either didn’t notice or didn’t care, and as she pulled a glove off and pressed her hand to a cold forehead, there seemed to be movement behind the woman’s eyelids.
“Wow. She’s frozen.” Widow commented, moving her hand down to press two fingers against her neck. “...I’ve got a pulse here, though. We’d better get her out to the transport.”
Steve nodded, taking Natasha’s place as she stepped back to call in their find. Still doing his best to be a gentleman and avoid looking at the girl, he quickly unbuckled the brittle leather straps holding the girl in place, freeing her arms and legs before pulling her out of the pod. Her skin was icy against him, but Nat was right--he could feel her heart beating slowly, her pulse speeding up towards something more normal and less like hibernation.
“Here. Found this in a cupboard.” Natasha appeared with a musty blanket in her arms, draping it around the woman’s shoulders.
Steve wrapped it around her before picking her up, finally daring to look down at her now that she was covered. Her hair was long and dark, and though her cheeks were a bit gaunt, no doubt thanks to HYDRA’s general disregard for human life, she didn’t seem too worse for wear. He couldn’t see any bruises on her face or neck, and her scent glands looked to be free of any mating bonds.
Well, at least she wasn’t missing anybody special, right? Being separated from a bonded mate for so long could kill a person, especially if they happened to be an alpha or an omega. Steve still couldn’t smell for sure, but this girl had such a small stature that he had a suspicion she might be the latter.
He caught a glimpse of a thin metal identification band around her wrist, almost like the kind used to track wild animals. On it, Steve could see SUBJECT 1096 stamped in, and he couldn’t help but grimace. What did that mean? That she was an experiment?
As he followed Natasha out into the abandoned hallway, the girl in his arms stirred slightly. She rubbed her cheek against Steve’s chest, nuzzling into him as if searching for a scent. When she didn’t seem to find what she expected, he caught her furrowing her brow, her lips turning down in a slight frown.
“Alpha?” she asked quietly, voice barely audible.
“You’re safe now,” Steve said, trying to reassure her. She was right, he was an alpha, and he did his best to cover her in a calming scent. The last thing he wanted was a panicked omega on his hands.
“Not...alpha
” she said weakly, eyes still closed. She raised a hand, grabbing at Steve’s chest with tired fingers. “T-take me home
”
“We’re going somewhere safe,” he said, quickening his pace. “I promise. You’re okay now.”
She let out a tiny whine, squirming half heartedly in his grip. “Want...my alpha
”
As Steve and Natasha walked out of the hidden HYDRA bunker and waited for Clint to bring the plane down, the scent of fresh air finally roused the omega enough that she opened her eyes. Steve looked down at her, worry written all over his face, and as her gaze met his, she looked disappointed.
Those weren’t the blue eyes she was hoping for. She didn’t know this alpha, and she wanted nothing to do with him. She wanted her soldier back, not this stranger. But she was too tired to fight, still drowsy from her time in cryo, and as he carried her onto the transport, she passed out again, hoping that her alpha would come and find her and take her away from the people she was stuck with now.
“What--what’s this?” Clint asked, turning in the pilot’s seat as Nat and Steve boarded the plane.
“She was in cryo,” Natasha said, grabbing an emergency cot and laying it out in the back. “Pulse is there, but we’ve got no idea how healthy she is otherwise.”
“We need to get her back to the tower.” Steve said, setting her down.
“You got it, Cap.” Clint turned back around. “Weather’s good. Should be just a couple hours til we’re there.”
“I’ll let Bruce know.” Natasha took the copilot’s seat, immediately grabbing a headset to radio back.
As the craft took off, Amoretta was stuck in an unwelcome sleep. The last thing she wanted was to be unconscious right now, when she knew she was surrounded by unfamiliar alphas. She was grateful for the fresh air, but with it came the scents of people, of strangers, and she didn’t like that one bit. As out of it as she was, she knew that she had been taken out of cryo, and everything else just felt wrong.
The alpha she had woken up with wasn’t hers. She had been so happy at first, thinking that her soldier had been the one to carry her out of the base...until she caught his scent and realized that it was wrong. The second she knew she was in someone else’s arms, all she wanted to do was thrash and kick and bite, but she simply didn’t have the strength yet.
So she had to settle for sleeping, and, thankfully, dreaming.
Cryo never seemed to give her dreams, at least not any that she could ever remember. It felt like it had been forever since she had a normal nap, though, and her mind was happy to wander. Thoughts of her soldier swirled around each other, and for the first time in a long time, she was sleeping peacefully.
With nothing else to do, Steve took a seat next to the omega, strapping himself in. And leaning back with a sigh. Who was she, and why was her scent so muted? He had never encountered an omega who was so...well, scentless before. Even when they took suppressants to keep their heats at bay, they still reeked of omega. He never thought anything could change that, but apparently, something could.
As they flew home, he found himself staring down at her, wondering why HYDRA had her in cryo for so long. She had to be important for them to keep her around, right? They weren’t known for wasting their time with people they couldn’t use. But, then again...what use could they possibly have for an omega who didn’t even smell like one? It didn’t make sense.
“Maybe she was a test subject.” Natasha said, practically reading his mind.
“Think so?” Steve asked, tearing his eyes away from the omega to look at the spy.
“We found her in a lab.” She shrugged. “Before the Berlin Wall came down, they had their hands in everything. The Soviets funded countless experiments on omegas.”
Steve frowned. “Guess I missed a lot while I was in that ice.”
“Eh, not much.” Clint said. “Just the same old shit.”
Steve gave him a look.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Same old stuff. Better, goody two shoes?”
“Better.”
Barton snorted a laugh. “Come on, work is the one place I can swear without a kid overhearing! You’ve gotta give me a pass once in a while.”
“Never said you couldn’t swear,” Steve sighed, leaning his head back again. He wanted to know what HYDRA was doing with this omega. Were they experimenting on her? She looked like she was fairly healthy, so whatever they had done must not have taken much of a physical toll on her.
There was also the matter of why they had left her behind when they abandoned their base. There hadn’t been any signs of struggle, at least not that he had seen. It looked like HYDRA had simply chosen to get up and leave one day a few decades ago, with no obvious reasoning as to why.
Steve had to admit he didn’t really understand why they did what they did. His job wasn’t to analyze their motives, though; his job was to stop them, and that’s what he was going to do. Rescuing this omega was just one small part of that. Of course, it would help if he knew why he had stumbled across her, and what they had been using her for.
As soon as they landed, Bruce’s assistants were waiting with a gurney, Dr. Banner himself standing nearby. Steve rushed the still-sleeping omega out, placing her down as gently as he could and then watching as she was taken inside to their medical facilities.
“So...you found her in cryo?” Bruce asked, following after his new patient.
Steve nodded stiffly. “There was no one else there. The whole place was running on backup batteries.”
Banner made a thoughtful noise as they walked inside. “She’s been asleep this whole time?”
“She woke up briefly while I was carrying her out to the transport. Other than that, she’s been out cold.”
“We’ll have to run some tests to see what’s going on with her.”
“Is she gonna be alright, Doc?” Steve asked.
Bruce stopped outside the lab doors. “Without knowing how long she was on ice and what exactly they were doing with her...it’s hard to say.”
Steve frowned.
“But...the fact that she hasn’t gone into shock yet is a good sign.” He turned to enter the room. “I’ll have FRIDAY grab you when I’ve got more answers.”
Steve just nodded, standing back and watching the doctor disappear after the mystery omega. Banner was a good guy, and as an omega himself, he would do everything he could to ensure that this one was well taken care of. Steve had no doubt in his mind that Bruce would see that she pulled through.
Something wasn’t sitting right about all this, though. The situation was bothering him beyond belief. Seriously, what was going on? What was he missing? What was so special about subject 1096?
Maybe Bucky would have an idea.

Warnings- dark content, fuck or die, minors dni
Content Warnings:
heisenberg has lycan-like features, sharper teeth, sharper nails.Knotting, rough sex, probably can be considered animalistic, cumplay, messy sex, lots of growling, biting, hair pulling, scratching. (Also ik he is not a werewolf himself i just think it'd be hot) breeding kink
An odd spore has taken root in the depths of Heinsenberg's lab, upon doing research the two of you suffer the effects of it.
"A FUCKING WHAT?!" Karl shouts, towering over you.
"And you didn't think to- I don't know- block off the fuckin' area?" He growls, glaring down at you.
"A spore known as Cupiditas Spora, its effects manifest as lust. Once the fungus releases the spores, it takes at least an hour for its effects to begin."
"You and I are the only ones who are authorized for this level of the lab so I didn't think about it, sir."
"So how in Miranda's name do we remove the effects?"
"The effected individual or individuals usually, must participate in coitus."
"Can y'use simpler terms?"
"Well- for lack of term, they have to fuck." You mutter, playing with the edge of the coat you wear.
"You know I hate when you fuckin mumble." He groans, grabbing your jaw, tilting your face up to his.
"So speak the fuck up, and quit with your damn terminologies."
"Sex! The infected must fuck!" You shout, face flushed.
You could already feel the effects of the spore, heat pooling in your abdomen. Or maybe it was just the feeling of his hand on you.
"There ain't any other way?"
"No. Simply put, if the individuals don't have sex, they'll die. Now- I'm not sure how it will effect your- well the lycan DNA you possess thanks to Mother Miranda."
"Gods- don't mention her when you're talking about sex." Karl groans, releasing his hold on you.
"My apologies. Throughout this do I have your permission to document more information on the effects of the spore?"
"You really think you'll be lucid enough to do that?" He scoffs, looking you up and down.
Judging by his body language, he's begun to feel something.
"It wouldn't hurt to try to be." You shrug, removing your coat as your body temperature rises.
"Stripping already, pet?"
"Its hot in here, I suggest you do the same. Seeing as we'll be nude anyways." You say as you make your way to your desk, shedding your shirt as you sit down.
Hands immediately busying themselves with a pen, writing down how the spore is effecting you.
"You're enjoying this aren't you? Being your own little science experiment, dragging me into this. If you wanted to fuck me s'bad you coulda just said so." Heisenberg sits on the edge of your desk, hat, jacket, and glasses removed.
"I did not drag you into this. You came down here yourself- y'know if you listened more often you'd remember I told you that I had a possibly dangerous fungus down here." You grit out, your cunt throbbing.
You wanted to fight the effects as long as you could, not wanting to submit to the primal urges within. Wanting to document as much as you could.
"Shut your fuckin mouth, unless you wanna use it for somethin' more useful than bitchin' at me." He removes his oil covered gloves, setting them on your desk.
Hes so close you can smell the cigars he smokes on him. The oil and natural musk.
You grab hold of the collar of his shirt, pulling him down to your level. Eyes lidded as you smash your lips to his. You feel him grin against you, teeth, much sharper than they usually appear, nipping at your bottom lip.
Your curiosity gets the best of you, pulling away. You're in visible awe as you pull and touch at his mouth. Examining the sharp points of his canines.
He slaps your hands away, grabbing them in one of his larger ones. Holding them so you don't fuck with his face again.
"Next time you pull away to study me like some fuckin pooch, I'm putting some cuffs on you." He growls, grabbing a handful of you hair to keep your head still so he can kiss you again.
Your underwear was absolutely soaked, sticking to your crotch.
Despite the fact that the kiss was all teeth, it spurred you on further. Panting and moaning against him.
He suddenly pulls away, a glint of mischief behind his lust blown pupils and glazed over eyes. Before you can react, he's swiped everything off of your desk and made quick work of bending you over it.
"Bastard." You growl, pouting at the papers scattered on the lab floor.
"Hush now, pet."
He doesn't even bother with removing your pants or underwear, simply using a newfound claw to rip the crotch open.
"I just convinced Mother Miranda to allow me to wear those!"
Heisenberg grabs the base of your throat, snarling in your ear.
"What did I tell you about mentioning that bitch?"
You mutter out an apology, the cool air of the lab feeling heavenly on your heated skin.
"Hurry and get this over with so I can go back to- oh dear heavenly mo-"
Before you can finish your sentence, three of Karl's fingers lodge themselves into your mouth.
"Next time I'm cutting your tongue out." He remarks, pulling on the said muscle.
Its all bark and no bite, his other hand on your hip as he pushes further into your cunt.
"Fuck- how could you keep this from me." He moans, pulling out to slam right back in.
His hand leaves your mouth, grabbing at your breast.
"Shut up- cocky little-"
"Thats no way- shit- to talk to the man saving your life."
"Saving your own ass. Just- just fuck me!" You whine, it felt like your insides were boiling.
Karl rolls his eyes, snapping his hips. Those claws of his digging into the fat of your hips.
He could feel his thoughts melting into incomprehensible blurs of you.
"Going to fill this perfect cunt- defile it with my seed." He growls, its the most lucid thought he has.
You aren't much better, babbling and moaning, hands clawing at your desk. The only thing he can make out from you is his name.
Something swells at the base of his dick, piquing your interest. You can't speak, the thought dissipates as you feel the knot in your stomach tightening.
His hands claw at your sides, he's snarling as he leans down and bites your shoulder.
"Oh fuck!" You sob, thighs shaking as you reach your peak.
"Gonna flood that pussy." He growls as he pushes the swell of his knot into you.
And that he does, you shake and moan at the warm feeling.
"And you thought you'd be lucid enough to document." Karl chuckles breathlessly.
"Lycan cock." You mutter, panting against the desk.
"Good huh?"
"Think I need another example." You tease.
"Oh I can do that darling."

Not related to the other two Bio!mom Harley AUs that I did. Just... similar. I wrote this instead of sleeping, as per the usual.
—*—*—*—*—*
“I need your help.”
No accent, no threats of violence, no beating around the bush (figurative or otherwise). No fighting or unconscious bodies.
Just Harley Quinn with her hair down, no makeup, and completely serious, in the center of the Bat Cave. Even though her usual exaggerated Brooklynn accent (circa 1950s) had become a pretty inseparable part of her personality over the years, every now and then she forcibly stuffed it down and used her mostly unaccented voice. The one reminiscent of days with less colors on her face, a high bun, and a pristine white lab coat.
Every single one of the Bats and Birds present, fresh from an interrupted patrol thanks to her, could count the number of times they had seen Harley like this on one hand. Bruce would have the most recollections, but everyone else would have plenty of fingers left on said hand. So they all knew, especially when Bruce willingly pulled down his cowl so he could look Harley in the eye, that this was the start of something they were not likely to forget. And maybe their chances of survival were slim too.
“Harley,” Bruce’s voice was still gruff, seeing as he was still mostly Batman at the moment, but his eyes were soft. “Maybe you should tell us what you need help with first. And sit down. You look exhausted.”
Sure enough, there were dark circles under Harley’s eyes. She let Bruce-man lead her over to one of their debriefing tables and sit her down. She let out a huge sigh, her fingers tangling in her loose blond locks.
“I have a confession, and it isn’t gonna leave this cave, capiche?” The slight return of her accent relieved a little of the tension, but not much. Taking this as their cue, the rest of the bats spread out into their usual seats at the table. Bruce stayed near Harley, keeping a hand on her shoulder in silent support. Harley didn’t continue talking until he gave her a solemn nod in agreement. She gulped— an action that immediately returned the tension.
“... fifteen years ago, back when I was still with Joker, I disappeared off the Gotham scene for a few months. I’m sure a few of you remember,” she looked up, and a couple of the older vigilantes nodded. Really, Jason has still been Robin back then. But the memory stuck out in his head now that he was thinking about it.
“Yeah, you were breaking away from him a little bit, which was weird at the time,” Red Hood mused aloud, arms crossed. “I think you helped us out a couple times and did some of your first team ups with Ivy before you vanished. Then a few months go by and you were back in action with Joker, so we mostly ignored it as you just being you.”
Harley nodded. “Ah, my Ivy’s a lifesaver, even back then. She helped cover up the timeline by keeping me in action for longer than I should’a been without putting me at too much risk.”
“Timeline
” Red Robin spoke up, eyes huge even behind his mask. “You don’t mean—“
“Harley,” Bruce breathed, having also caught on. “You were pregnant?”
The air went still. Harley sniffed, eyes watering even as she smiled.
“Oh yeah. Shouldn’t have been possible, ya know? Me ‘n Joker being dumped in that damn acid should have made us both more sterile than an operatin’ room. But I knew I couldn’t raise a kid, so after she was born—“
“You kept her?” Damian interrupted, earning a gentle cuff over the head from Dick. Harley just snorted.
“Yeah. Not gonna lie, I thought about abortion. But the baby didn’t do nothin’ wrong, and I was still in love with Joker back then so I was ecstatic that I was able to make something new with part ‘a him in it. Still, I knew a baby didn’t deserve to be raised in Gotham. Especially not my baby, not with my enemies and history. Not with who her father was. I knew he’d never want her, never let me keep her. So I spent the last five months of my pregnancy lookin’ around for the best possible family to take her in. And I found them in Paris, France. A sweet couple, both of them bakers. Sabine, she’s both adorably sweet and super kickass. Comes from a Chinese family that is crazy about teachin’ their women martial arts. But nothing shady about it, I triple checked. Just bonding through kicking people in the face. Which is perfect, I wanted my baby to know how to defend herself. I knew she’d need those skills eventually. And Tom, that’s Sabine’s wife, he’s a gentle giant. Same size as Bane, but as harmless as a puppy and makes the best croissants ever. Seriously, the best.”
“Harley,” Bruce gently prodded, but there was a tiny grin on his face. Seeing her behaving so
so normally, so proud and reminiscent, was a rare treat. Bruce would be lying if he said he wasn’t proud of how far the woman had come. How she had freed herself and become a better person, mostly on her own.
“Right, right. The point,” Harley took a breath, rubbing her forehead. “I came clean to Tom and Sabine, but apparently they knew who I was the whole time. They just didn’t care— did I mention they are perfect? Anyway, once I explained everything, they agreed immediately to adopting my baby. They’d been wanting kids, but it would’a been too risky for Sabine’s health. That’s how I found them anyway, they were in the market to adopt. We named her Marinette. She took Tom and Sabine’s last names, hyphenated. We decided Quinn would be her middle name. And after that, I came back to Gotham and told myself that she was in good hands and I needed to forget about her. Cuz I was no good for her. I knew that. I went back to my old tricks. And then
” Harley chuckled, but it was self-depreciating.
“Then a few years passed, and I started breaking away from Joker for real. Then we broke up, I blew up Ace Chemicals while you guys were outta town doing Justice League and Young Justice shit. I started dating Ivy. And—“ she smiled softly at the table, clearly seeing something the rest of them couldn’t. “Then Ivy convinced me to go see her. Visit my baby, see how she’s been. And I did. Marinette was seven years old, but damn it to hell she was gorgeous. And say whatever you want about me and Joker— most of it will even be true— but neither of us are stupid. And she inherited all of our intelligence. All of it. She got my blue eyes. But she got his hair, which meant Sabine teased me relentlessly about ‘are you sure she isn’t that Wayne’s kid?’ And don’t make that face Bruce, you’d be lucky to have a kid half as beautiful as my Mari-pie. No offense, Damian. Anyway. Anyway, this is the important part. Or part of it.
“She sat there and listened to everything I had to say. Everything. A little seven year old, who could barely understand English at the time, and she listened without interrupting once. She never threw a fit, she wasn’t angry or confused. I told her about the things I’d done in the past— well, G rated versions— and she didn’t care. She called me Momma Harley right away, said she wanted to meet Aunt Ivy sometime soon, and started telling me everything about her that I’d missed. From that day on, she became my sunshine. The light of my life, and I still call her at least once a week every week. When I disappear for a few days out of the city? I’m visiting her—“
“You’re banned from international travel, Harley,” Dick scolded, but he sounded way too amused for it to work. He knew she had her ways, anyway. Nobody could actually stop Harley damn Quinn from doing whatever she wanted.
“—Ugh, she tells me the same thing every time! Disappointed glare and everything. I don’t know how I gave birth to such a goodie goodie, but somehow I did. Not important though! The important thing is, I’m always the first to hear when something new happens in her life. And we had decided that she wouldn’t visit me in Gotham until she was at least eighteen, but apparently she disobeyed me— which I should have expected honestly— and entered you guys’ WE international scholastic competition.”
“Oh no,” Bruce pinched the bridge of her nose. “Marinette Dupain-Cheng? The contest winner?” He finally pulled out a chair and sat down. “The winner gets an all-expense paid trip to Gotham for them and their whole class.”
“Exactly!” Harley threw up her hands. “Mari told me last week, and I’ve been trying to talk her out of coming ever since. But she’s inherited both of our stubbornness too, and she isn’t budgin’ a bit. ‘Momma Harley, I wanna see you and Auntie Ivy though!’ And ‘Momma, Gotham’s nothing I can’t handle,’ or my favorite, ‘Maybe you’ll finally get to see me dropkick someone three times my size then, and I’ll prove it.’”
“So that’s what you meant by you need our help,” Tim said as he leaned forward over the table. “Joker just broke out of Arkham yesterday. You want us to protect her.”
“I’d prefer if one of you was with her outside of the mask too, as often as possible,” Harley confirmed. “I can’t stop her from coming here anymore, but I also don’t trust Joker for a second. As soon as he sees her, I’m afraid he’ll make the connection.”
“She looks like him?” Damian asked, scrunching up his nose at the ugly mental image of Joker as a teenage girl. Harley shook her head, solemn.
“She looks like a dark-haired mini-me,” she corrected. “She even keeps her hair in pigtails as her way of showing support for me. And I know Marinette can kick ass, Sabine’s trained her well. But Marinette inherited more than I’d like from me,” Harley ran a hand through her hair. “I didn’t notice it until she was thirteen. She got a crush on a classmate, and it was almost like watching videos of me back during the early days of— well, of Harley Quinn. Just without the crime and insanity. She didn’t even realize that she was almost stalking the poor kid until I pointed it out, and luckily I was able to put my doctorate to good use and we nipped that right in the bud ASAP. She never meant it that way, anyway. As soon as I explained things to her, she was horrified and immediately asked me to help her learn how to have a healthy relationship. That was a fun discussion,” Harley grimaced. “But she still gets attached to people really, really easily. Once she grew out of her crush on that boy, she adopted him as her unofficial brother. She already calls Selina “Auntie,” even though I’ve barely mentioned her to Marinette. She gets attached fast, and deeply. And I’m afraid that even after all the warning I’ve done, all the stories I’ve told her—“
“You’re afraid she’ll get attached to Joker just like you did,” Bruce finished for her, closing his eyes. “Because she knows he’s her father.”
“Yes,” Tears were slowly dripping down her face already, her hands curled into fists so tightly that her knuckles were paper white. “You know how he is. If he finds out she’s his biological daughter, he’ll immediately try to take advantage of that. And he’s far too good with his words for people like me and Mari. I’m worried outta my mind. Please. Help keep my baby safe from him.”
“We will,” Jason no longer had his helmet on, or the domino mask that he usually wore underneath it. All of them knew masks were merely formality with Harley nowadays. And he needed to look her directly in the eye so she could see how serious he was. “I can sign up as a bodyguard for the class. It won’t be weird, seeing as they’re tourists and this is Gotham. They also have several rich kids in their group if I remember right.”
Bruce nodded, agreeing with Jason. “That’s a good idea. I can lead the class on their tours of WE personally. That’ll serve the purpose of keeping an eye on her and shutting up the investors that keep begging me to make more public appearances for the sake of the company. Marinette’s name is already released to the news as the winner of the contest, so we can’t keep her out of the spotlight long. Tim, you’ll have to keep an eye on any and all pictures of the class. Try to erase or doctor the images with her in it well enough that connections between her and Harley can’t be easily made. Dick, you and Damian will be in charge of keeping an eye out for any activity from Joker. The slightest hint, and you notify all of us. We’ll decide on a case-by-case basis who is necessary to stick with the class and who goes after the clown.”
“She’s gonna sneak out of her hotel to stay with me and Ivy,” Harley admitted, bringing the (now slightly judgemental) attention back to her. She raised her hands up in surrender. “She didn’t tell me that, and I didn’t approve or suggest it! I just know my baby too well to not realize that that’s her plan. Could ya provide an escort?”
Bruce sighed. “This is gonna be an eventful month.”

Tumblr media
War.
Terrorizing. Horrifying. Absolutely petrifying.
There are several words to use when talking about it, describing it, reliving it. Once you’ve experienced it, it will haunt you till the day you die and even beyond that. There isn’t much positive to take from it, not many positive memories come to you as you think back to the time during war. Only one positive memory returns to you from those dark times...
Him.
Him who did not fit in with the military services due to his lack of strength and speed. Him who never let anyone step upon him and evolved with the job. Him who never backed down from a challenge or an order given from the highest ranks. Him who had braveness unlike anyone, loyalty like no other, a will to fight for what’s worth it and to win. Him who made you fall for him without meaning to. Him who promised he would always come back to you, no matter what happened.
And then one day he didn’t. They had told you he went down in the fight, died for his country, for his team. He hadn’t hesitated to sacrifice himself, thrown himself towards the threat in the hopes of ending it for everyone once and for all. That he did. He killed himself in the process of saving everyone else.
A hero is what they had called him. Honored his name, saluting as they all stood facing his military photograph, serious faces and emotionless eyes all over. Tears had filled your eyes that day, but they didn't fall. You refused to let them. There was no way you would cry because of a liar. A coward, really. Anger kept you going, anger aimed at him. A rage so intense that you would convince yourself that you hated him. Some people would call you selfish, selfish for hating a man who sacrificed himself for everyone else. They were right. You were selfish. But love makes you selfish, and you loved him. So ridiculously much.
Years later, decades into the new century he remains as a positive yet heartbreaking and frustrating memory in your mind and heart. You haven’t aged a day thanks to the advanced technology and the project you offered to be the experiment of, in the end of the war. After his death and the war seeming more out of control than ever, you thought there wasn’t much more to live for, so you volunteered. A successful masterpiece, professor Kim had said as you regained consciousness on the lab table. You were his greatest, most succeeded experiment. You still are, except for the fact that Kim Namjoon is no longer walking among people on earth.
Now you’re living as the successful masterpiece he has created. Stronger, faster – young too even though your real age is something near 98. It doesn’t show. You look like any other 23-year-old but with extraordinary strength and speed. Being a part of a team as the Avengers truly has given you a meaning of life, a purpose that you didn’t feel you had before joining this outstanding team of superheroes as some would call you.
But as you stand here, in the middle of a battlefield that is scarily similar to those back in the 1940’s, you feel small. Gunshots fire around you, flying past your head and ringing in your ears. Explosions going off from the shots fired by Stark, Iron Man as he’s known as. The grounds breaking from the power of Thor’s hammer, the bad guys falling like flies in the hands of Widow. You’re watching it all unfold, breathing for a split second as robots are charging at you with red, glowing eyes.
For God’s sake, just how many of these are there?
Keeping yourself from rolling your eyes in pure annoyance, you set off running towards them with an unmatched speed, fists up and ready to take them out. One goes down after another, surrendering to your very angry, very powerful fists. Your patience is running thin as the robots keep appearing from left and right, setting their focus on you as demanded by whoever’s controlling them. A person you haven’t managed to find yet, but determined to hunt down and put a bullet through their head.
“Hey, Thor!” You call out to the nordic God flying around you, punching fists through robots and throwing his hammer at them. He glances your way, finding you surrounded by robots, too many for you to fight by yourself. “A lil hand here?”
He nods in response, immediately dropping to the ground and plunging his hammer into the asphalt on the ground, lightning seeping through the ground and into the robots, taking them down and splitting them in half. Thor throws a smug smirk at you before turning back around to fight another round of robots. You roll your eyes, about to run off when shots are being fired at you.
“Shit!” You hiss, running to hide behind a tipped-over truck while fishing out a gun from the strap around your thigh. You lean out, aiming in the direction of the shots. There is a man with long, dark hair, a black mask covering half his face and a silver arm that does not look familiar at all. The mysterious man steps onto the railing of the bridge he fired shots from, hard glare focused on you as he steps out and lets himself fall to the ground beneath the bridge. He lands on his feet, supporting himself with the silver fist into the asphalt. He stands to his height, walking straight towards you and leaving a mark in the asphalt where he had landed. Your eyes widen as he holds up a machine gun, opening fire at you as you scramble to run off while loading more shots into your gun.
Peeking around the corner of the brick building you’re hiding behind, you hold your gun up to aim at him. You fire a bullet, hitting his silver arm. He doesn’t budge, the bullet not even leaving a bump in the silver.
“What the-” you gape, firing shots again. He holds his silver hand up, the bullets bouncing off like they’re made of cotton, still walking towards you with eyes focused on you. There’s something about him that seems familiar – maybe his build? Or the way he walks? Or was it the slightly curly hair on top of his head? You can’t quite pin it as you watch him get closer, fists clenched tightly at his sides as if he’s ready to throw punches at you. You contemplate running to him, throwing the first punch at him before he gets to you. There is a slight hesitancy in your body as you can’t shake off how awfully familiar he seems the closer he gets to you. Knowing what the right thing to do is, you step out from your hiding spot, collecting all strength as you charge at him. A yell of anger and confusion rumbles from your chest as you jump on the last step, fist pulled back only for it to be forced forward and into the center of the mysterious man’s chest.
He stumbles back slightly, gaining his balance quickly before he steps closer, throwing a punch at you as well. You dodge, throwing your leg into his side in a strong kick. He grunts as he catches your leg, pulling on it to force you towards him. You ram into him, his clenched fist connecting with your jaw. You groan in pain as you fall to the ground, landing before his feet. Squinting at him, you watch as he kneels down over you, holding you down against the ground. As he stares at you, raising his hand to deliver a punch to your face again, you realize it as your eyes meet his. You gasp softly, not believing the sight in front of you. It’s a known fact that you would recognize those deep, brown eyes anywhere in any given moment.
“J-Jungkook?”
The sound of your voice, the sound of his name falling from your lips has him freezing for a split second. His eyes shift between yours as he slowly begins to sink his fist. But not even seconds later he’s raising his fist again and that’s when you can tell that he does not recognize you. He is looking at you as if you’re a complete stranger, like he didn’t spend the last year of his life telling you that he loved you more than life itself.
His gaze fills with the only feeling he feels, hatred. He moves to force his silver fist down and into your face, a face he used to call beautiful as he traced his finger tips along the edges. You barely dodge it, trying your very best to meet his eyes again as you call his name.
“Jungkook!” You fight the tears that are brimming your eyes as you continue to dodge his hits the best you can, “Hey! It’s me!”
He’s not holding off, continuing to throw punches at you and hitting the asphalt as you squirm in between his thighs. He’s impeccably strong, the asphalt cracking under the jabs of his fists. His thighs are keeping you in place as he pins you to the ground, your arms locked along your sides. You know he’ll punch you to death if you don’t get inside his head. It seems nearly impossible as his eyes are trained on you, emotionless and angry, only a small glimt of the man you used to know in them.
“____! Might wanna duck down a bit,” Tony shouts as he flies in your direction, his glowing hand aimed at Jungkook.
Your eyes widen in horror as you scramble together all the strength you have, throwing Jungkook off you and away from the deathly ray of light coming from Tony’s palm.
“No!”
The shot hits the asphalt a few meters away from you, nearly grazing Jungkook but it doesn’t, thankfully. Tony is shocked as he comes to a halt in the air, staring between Jungkook and you. You wave a hand at him. “I got him,” you assure him as you pant out breaths of air, nodding towards Widow and Thor, “go help the others.”
The man in the iron suit in front of you seems to hesitate for a second as he looks at you. He catches the pleading look on your face, glancing back at Jungkook for a moment before nodding at you once and flying in the direction of Widow and Thor, aiming his shots at the robots that are still coming from all sides. You turn your attention back to Jungkook, the body of the love of your life but not the eyes or mind of him.
“Jungkook,” you try again, slowly stepping closer as he stays still, slightly shocked that you had saved him from Iron Man’s deadly shot, “it’s me, ____.”
You’re begging, tone pleading him and hands up in surrender as you slowly step closer to him. He’s breathing hard, chest rising and falling in deep breaths. His eyes are dark, cold and distant as you get even closer. He’s frozen in his spot. He seems confused behind that hard expression, confused because you look less terrified than you did before realizing who he is. He doesn’t flinch or move away from your hand as it inches closer to his face, reaching for the black mask on his face.
“Hey,” you softly say, hesitating to touch him as you let a single tear escape and roll down your cheek. Something flashes in his eyes as he looks into your wet eyes, a small hint of recognition, familiarity too. Maybe he remembers. You hope he does. He lets you pull the black mask off completely, the strong line of his jaw appearing in front of you as well as his pink lips you used to kiss so often in that hidden place you liked to meet almost every night. “It’s me,” you whisper, “it’s ____.”
You’re afraid you’re imagining things as tears build up in the corner of his eyes, his jaw tightening. It’s too much for him. The memories returning with full force, the emotions filling his chest and warming it for the first time in 70 years. He wants to cry. He doesn’t know whether it's happiness because you’re right here in front of him, after he thought he would never get to see you again as he took his last breath back in 1944, or sadness because he’s well aware that he almost killed you if you hadn’t pushed him off you.
“____?” His voice betrays him as it cracks, your name coming out in a croaked voice. More tears escape as you hear your name falling from his lips for the first time since that morning in the military camp where he said ‘see you soon’ and then never returned. He freezes as you throw yourself at him, arms wrapped around him as you pull him closer in a tight hug. The sniffles and muffled cries you let out breaks his emotionless, cold heart and filling it with a warmth he hasn’t felt in so long. A tear escapes from the corner of his eye as he lets his own arms snake their way around your waist, hugging you just as tight as you hug him.
Relief.
That’s what he’s feeling.

Jungkook wanders around inside Stark’s office, eyes exploring things as he calmly runs his silver hand over them. You watch him from a few feet away, arms crossed over your chest. Worry is filling your entire body as his back is turned to you. He still doesn’t seem like himself. There is something about him that makes you anxious, something about him makes you wonder if he’ll turn at any moment, falling back into whatever sort of amnesia he has been experiencing for the past decades.
You jump in surprise when the door opens beside you, revealing Tony. He notices your jumbled state, giving you a small, half smile. You turn your eyes back to Jungkook who’s picking at an ancient-looking sculpture on Tony’s desk causing Tony to take a step closer.
“Hey! Buddy!” He calls out, catching Jungkook’s attention. “Don’t touch that, please. It’s antique.”
Jungkook steps away from the desk, hands up in mock surrender, emptiness in his eyes as if he couldn’t care less about Tony’s antique sculpture. No one really cared about that sculpture. It’s doomed to break at some point when it’s placed in his office, in the Avengers building.
“Tony,” you catch the attention of the older man, looking straight at him with hopeful, desperate eyes, “can you help him?”
He turns to face Jungkook, looking him over from head to toe. “Friday, give me a scan of whatever’s controlling Jungkook.”
Anticipated, you wait while biting a nail. Jungkook doesn’t move an inch as Friday scans him for anything to help Tony figure out a way to help. He’s glancing from Tony to you, his eyes meeting yours. Seconds. It takes seconds from his stare meeting yours to something flicking behind his dark brown irises, something inside of him snapping like the tips of someone’s fingers. Your eyes widen in panic as you move to stand between Tony and Jungkook.
“Tony!” You shout, moving fast as you try to get in between the two men. Tony has already activated his iron hand, catching Jungkook’s silver fist right before it hits him square in the face. You come to a halt, staring in surprise as Tony tightens his hold on Jungkook’s fist, forcing him to the ground. “Tony, please, don’t hurt him. He’s not in his right mind!”
“Oh, really?” Tony scoffs, sarcasm dripping from each word. A small yelp leaves your mouth as Tony kicks his knee up under Jungkook’s jaw, knocking him out. Jungkook falls limp to the floor, eyes closed as he’s kicked unconscious by Tony. You kneel down beside him, brushing his long strands of hair out of his face. He looks peaceful as he lays there, completely unconscious, and yet there’s a furrowed look on his face, like he’s never free from whatever that is controlling him. You sigh deeply, head dropping as you cradle Jungkook’s hand in your own. Tony’s palm rests on your shoulder. You glance up at him. He gives you a small, reassuring smile.
“Don’t worry, we’ll help him,” he tells you. You nod, knowing he spoke the truth.
“Thank you.”
Tumblr media
The frustrated look and furrowed eyebrows are gone. He looks genuinely peaceful this time, long lashes resting on the top of his cheeks as he rests beneath the sheets on your bed. You can’t help yourself as you reach out, palm cupping his cheek, your thumb brushing over his cheekbone in a soft caress. Hopefully you’ll have the love of your life back once he wakes up from the deep sleep Tony put him in.
You’re about to move away, retrieving your hand from his cheek just as you hear him whimper softly. Turning back to him, you watch as his lower lip begins to quiver, eyebrows furrowed tightly together. “No,” he whimpers again, head shaking in his sleep. “Please, no! Don’t!”
Worry fills you once again as you sit on the edge of the bed beside him, hands cupping his face between them. “Jungkook,” you softly call, trying your best to wake him without startling him. “Jungkook, my love, please wake up. Please!”
Startled, you gasp as his eyes shoot open, his lips parting as he gasps for air. He’s looking right into your startled, widened eyes. It takes a minute for him to realize who you are and where he is, the surroundings not seeming familiar at all, but it feels nice. The aura, the warmth and the dimmed lighting in the bedroom where he’s tucked under the sheets.
“Hey,” you breathe out as you smile, not sure what to say to him. Tony had made sure to help him, get whatever that was controlling him out of him, his head to himself now and slowly filling with memories, both good and bad ones. “How are you feeling?”
He groans as he moves to sit up. You help him straighten up, making sure he has a pillow for his back as he leans back against the head of the bed. He closes his eyes tightly together as he drops his head back, still trying to calm his erratic breathing. You sit back in the chair you had pulled to the bedside when you got here.
“I feel
” he begins, words feeling foreign on his tongue as he speaks with a croaking voice. He sighs deeply. This is a lot for his head to take in in just one day. “I feel like my head is about to explode.”
Your smile is careful as you look at him. “Makes sense,” you softly say, watching him glance at his arm only to notice the silver is still there, like he had hoped it would be gone. It’s easy to tell the arm itself is a symbol of a very dark time as he looks at it and then looks away from it. He isn’t fond of the silver arm, obviously having a love-hate relationship with it as it has given him power and strength he never had to begin with and problems he never voluntarily wanted in the first place. There’s pain in his eyes as he glances at you, shame as he cowers under your gaze.
You frown deeply. “What happened to you?” You ask, voice barely above a whisper. He closes his eyes, not really wishing to go back to those dark times where his life was saved and changed for the worse. The dark times where he became a shadow of himself and a manipulated soldier, brainwashed to take orders from others.
“I, uh, I don’t think-“ he stumbles over his words.
You place your hand over his actual hand, your thumb brushing the skin there. He glances at where you’re touching him before looking up at you. You’re hurting, it’s easy to see. It’s not your own pain though, it’s his. You’re feeling pain for him, hurting because he went through things he never should have, things where death would’ve been much less painful. You want to kiss him, kiss it all better if that was possible.
“You can tell me,” you whisper, pleading him to confide in you, to tell you what happened to him all those years ago.
He sighs deeply, turning his hand over to wrap it around yours. A rush runs through your stomach as he grips onto your hand with a hold so tight that you find yourself promising him silently that you’ll never let go again by giving his hand a small squeeze.
“They found me a few days later,” he starts, gaze focusing on the way yours and his fingers intertwine with each other like they’re meant to do it, “in the ruins of buildings. I-I wasn’t fully awake when they did, only just coming to my senses again after the explosion that was meant to kill me.”
You’re focusing on his hand in yours now, not able to look into his eyes as he tells the story of how he ended up here, 70 years later, and still looking like himself but with longer hair and impeccable strength.
“I didn’t recognize them. They wouldn’t tell me anything. They took me to this place, a bunker or something like that. There was this huge laboratory inside with equipment way ahead of its time,” he looks confused as he relives the horrifying moments, “I was placed in a chair and the next thing I know they’re sawing my arm off-“
You whimper. “Oh, god,” tears dwell in your eyes as you grip his hand tightly.
“____, I have never felt as much pain as I did that day,” he looks you straight in the eye, the pain from that day flashing over his face as he recalls it, the feeling of it. “And all I could think about while they turned me into this- this monster
was that I lied to you.”
You shake your head in denial. “No, Jungkook,” you whisper, “you couldn’t know. You couldn’t.”
He offers you a small half-smile, remorse covering his features as he reaches up with his silver hand, careful as he lets the fingertips of it brush your hair out of your face.
“I’m sorry I gave you an empty promise,” he whispers, silver fingertips brushing against the side of your face. You cover it with your own hand, letting him cup your face in the cold silver. He leans closer, hissing lightly as pain shoots up the side of his torso. “I’m sorry that I didn’t come back to you like I promised.”
“You did though,” you sigh deeply, resting your forehead against his. “You’re right here.”
He nods softly, his eyes shifting between yours.. “and I won’t leave again,” he assures you before hesitating, shrugging as he adds; “unless you want me to.”
You chuckle through the tears that had built up in your eyes. He’s smiling at you as you reach up to cup his face in your palms, brushing your thumb across his cheeks. He’s watching you, still not quite believing that you’re here with him. After so long. 70 years of wondering if you’re still alive. 70 long years of wondering where you were in the world. 70 unbearable years of longing for your touch, your soft, plump lips that made his heart stop beating for a few seconds each time they would touch his in a kiss.
“You have no idea how much I’ve missed you,” he whispers into the small gap of air space between you and him. “Each time I’d return from a mission and become myself again after being under mind-control, you were the first thing on my mind. To be honest, I don’t think you ever left it. You’ve always been there with me, in the deepest parts of my consciousness. You kept me sane during the missions, kept me from forgetting myself completely.”
Listening intently, you close your eyes as your thumbs continue to brush over the skin on his cheeks. He continues, a deep sigh falling from his lips and clashing against yours causing goosebumps to rise upon your body. You’re shocked that you have gone this far without smothering him in kisses. You don’t want to risk anything, waiting patiently for him to make the first move in the direction of more physical affection, whether it’s a touch of his hand, a hug or more.
“And when I realized it was you earlier today...” his voice cracks, “when I realized I almost killed you- I don’t think I can ever forgive myself for that.”
“You can and you will,” you softly tell him, the undertone of your voice stern, “you didn’t kill me. You wouldn’t. You were gonna recognize me sooner or later.”
He exhales shakily. “You don’t know that,” he almost snaps, eyes closed tightly as he drops his silver hand from your face. He pulls away from your touch, the warmth of him disappearing the further he moves away. He’s not looking at you. Tears are threatening to spill as you stare back at him, lips slightly parted as you want to speak up. You want to tell him he’s wrong, but you already know that he will not take your words for what they are. He, and you, know what would’ve happened if you hadn’t pushed him off when you did.
“You’re right,” you say, catching his attention again. He barely glances at you, noticing the small remnants of tears in your eyes before looking back at his silver hand, clenching and unclenching it. A tear rolls down your cheek. “You’re so right, Jungkook. I don’t know if you would or not.”
You get up from the chair you’ve been sitting in since you brought him back to your apartment. Jungkook still refuses to look at you as you move onto the bed, crawling closer to him. You don’t hesitate as you lay a hand on his shoulder and throw a leg over his to straddle his lap. He finally looks at you, eyes slightly widened at your actions. His eyes meet teary ones again, his silver arm moving out of an old habit as he reaches up to wipe your tears away.
“But I like to think you would.”
Your lips press against his before he can reply to your words. Jungkook gasps and then grunts in response as you press your mouth to his, desperately and needy. His body freezes beneath you as you kiss him, tasting his lips for the first time in an unbearably long time. It takes him a while to realize that you’re kissing him, finally kissing you back as he cradles you in his arms, pulling you closer to his chest. The silver arm keeps a tight grip around your waist, holding you in place as the other runs up your thigh.
Pulling away, you gasp for air, letting your forehead rest against his. Jungkook is breathing heavily, his breath once again clashing against yours as you both catch your breath. Your eyes meet, seconds after he’s kissing you again, your tank top riding up as the silver arm keeps you tight against him. The silver touching your skin causes goosebumps to cover your skin, a chill running up your spine as you cup his face. His tongue licks against your bottom lip, you let him in. A moan escapes your lips as his tongue touches yours.
“I’ve been holding myself back ever since you woke up,” you whisper against his lips, making him smile as his hands slide under your top, pushing it up before pulling it over your head completely. You return to his lips, catching them with your own as you reach for the hem of his t-shirt. He helps you pull it off, your mind elsewhere as you throw it onto the floor. Your hands rake down his body, over the tensing muscles of his abdomen as he moves his kisses down your cheek and further under your jaw. Your breathing is ragged as you pull away, only a few inches so you can glance down at his torso. The sight horrifies you, your fingertips brushing over scars and healed wounds.
“Oh my god,” you whisper as you glance up at Jungkook, his eyes meeting yours for a few seconds before you look back at his chest. Your eyes wander, over his both small and larger scars to his silver arm. You feel your heart tightening as you take in the way the silver arm is sewed onto his body. You hesitate to reach up, Jungkook’s eyes on you as you let your shaking fingertips brush over the burned, scarred skin that keeps the silver arm attached. “I- This
”
His human hand comes up to cup your cheek, thumb caressing your skin. “I know,” he agrees without hearing the rest of the sentence. You look back at him, finding relief in his eyes as you rest your palms against his chest. “It’s not as bad as it looks,” he then says.
“They literally cut off your arm,” you point out, shaking your head in disbelief. You can’t even imagine how much pain he must’ve been in when they did this to him. “I wish I could have spared you this pain, spared you the torture you went through.”
He smiles softly. “I know, ____. But there's no way you possibly could’ve.”
You're carefully running your pointer finger along one of his scars when you look up at him, eyelashes framing your eyes so perfectly. He thinks you’re absolutely beautiful, even more so than the last time he saw you. You can’t do anything to stop the words that tumble from your lips next.
“I love you so much, Jungkook.”
His breathing stops for a second, his heart skipping a beat. He hasn’t heard those words since 1944. He didn’t even hear those words that morning you had sent him off, he hadn’t said those words when he promised to return. He should have. That way you’d never be in doubt of his love. He wonders if you’ve loved him since or if there has been anyone else in the meantime to love you the way he should’ve.
Silently, you watch him as his thoughts run one hundred miles per hour. Your palms are sliding from his chest to his shoulders and further up his neck to cup his face again. The love he feels is evident in his eyes as he focuses on you.
“I love you,” he whispers, carefully turning you over onto your back only for him to hover over you. You’re watching him, tingling in your stomach as you hear the words fall from his lips. He returns to kissing you, kissing the skin on your cheek, your neck and further down to the very top of your chest, right beneath the collarbones. He glances up at you as he kisses his way down the valley of your bra-covered chest. “I didn’t say it enough back then,” he mouths against your skin, another round of goosebumps rising beneath his lips, “I should have said it more. I’m sorry.”
You exhale deeply, arching your back into his touch as he reaches your navel and moves even further down to the waistband of your pants, your spandex pants that you so elegantly wear whenever you have a mission with the Avengers.
“Stop apologizing,” you breathe out, eyes closed as you succumb to his touch. The silver hand brushes over your stomach as it runs up to your chest, unclasping your bra on the front. It falls to the sides, revealing your perky nipples to the crisp air. You gasp softly as a silver hand brushes over both, the cold steel doing nothing but erecting them even more. “I've always hated it when you apologize.”
He smirks softly against your lower stomach, pressing one last kiss to the skin there before pulling the silver hand down to pull off your pants, and panties too. The pants are barely on the floor before he returns to your lower abdomen, kisses being spread across your hip bones and pubic bone. You reach down to tangle your fingers in his long hair as he runs his hands up the inside of your thighs. He spreads your legs, revealing your throbbing core to him.
“God, I missed this,” he breathed out, the air of his words hitting your wet folds. “Having you like this, all to myself.”
You whine from above him. “Jungkook,” you whimper, “please.”
It doesn’t take more for him to lean closer, tongue licking a stripe up between your folds and to your clit, his silver arm sliding across your abdomen to keep you down as he eats you out for the first time in decades. One would think he had lost his touch and knowledge of a woman’s body, but you can say that he certainly didn’t as he roots himself between your legs, tongue licking your wetness and prodding at the entrance.
“Oh god,” you moan, softly gasping for air as his human hand rests on top of your one thigh, fingers digging into the flesh there. You’re in heaven, on the ninth cloud as he slurps your arousal, licking your folds and clit as if his life depended on it. “Fuck, Jungkook!”
The sound of your name toppling from your lips as he hits a certain nerve makes his body flush with a warmth he almost forgot what feels like. You’re writhing in the tight hold of his silver arm, squirming as he licks you to your release. The orgasm is approaching fast and hard, Jungkook being the sole reason for it. No one could ever get you there as fast as him.
“I’m s-so close- oh!,” you pant, your walls clenching as Jungkook’s actual fingers slide into you. He pumps his hand in and out of you in a pace that is perfectly building up your orgasm. He takes nothing but a glance into his eyes as he leans down to softly kiss your clit that you’re toppling over, hitting the wall of your orgasm. “J-jungkook, my god!”
You jerk away as he leans forward, tongue licking up your release, tasting it on his taste buds. He hums with a small smile as he glances up at you, loving the way your eyes are almost bulging out of your head at the sight of him between your thighs. It takes nothing more than a few seconds before you shitting up, Jungkook meeting you halfway in a kiss. Tongues clash against each other, the taste of you on his tongue as he kisses you deeply, needingly.
“Please fuck me,” you mumble in between kisses, a desperate whining tone attached to your words. “Make love to me, Jungkook.”
He seals your words with a kiss, giving you a silent promise of doing just that. As if he’d lick you out and that would be it. No way.
You watch, teeth biting into your bottom lip, as he gets off the bed to remove the sweatpants you had dressed him in when you got back, getting him out of those military pants with belts and buckles all over them. His cock springs free, slaps against his abdomen as it stands proud into the air. A rush runs through your stomach at the sight, mouth slightly watering. Once the sweatpants and his boxers lie on the floor by his feet, he crawls back onto the bed. He moves closer, pushing you back onto your back as he hovers over you. You’re glancing at his silver arm for a mere split second, your hair reaching up to run along the hard edges of it. Jungkook can’t feel your touch but he’d like to imagine that he can as he watches your palm brushing over and further up to the nape of his neck. His eyes move back to lock with yours. You’re looking at him just like you did that last night of intimacy you had back in 1944, the night before he was sent off on a deathly mission. A huge wave of emotions hits him as he glances from your eyes to your lips and back again.
“I love you,” he softly says, eyebrows furrowed together as he looks at you, “so much, ____.”
You smile, pulling him down to meet you in a kiss. The kisses are soft, tender even as he reaches down to line himself up with your entrance. You gasp into his mouth as the tip of his cock prods at your folds. A hand of yours tangles back into his locks as he pushes inside, the tightness overwhelming for the both of you. He rests his forehead against yours, your breaths clashing together between you as he buries himself to the hilt.
“Shit,” he hisses, glancing down at your connecting hips. “Can i move?”
You nod your head, whispering, “yes.”
Jungkook watches the way your eyes roll to the back of your head as he pulls out and pushes back in, the sight causing him to do it again and again, wanting to see you lose yourself and succumb to the feeling of his cock brushing against your walls.
“Oh fuck!” You gasp as he gives you a particularly hard thrust, the sound of skin slapping against skin as he hits that exact spot that makes you whimper out a soft, whiny moan. You’re clawing at his shoulders, his neck and chest as he sets a rhythm, keeping it steady as he grinds into you. He grabs your leg with his silver hand, helping you to wrap it around his waist. The other follows suit, locking with your other behind his back. He hits deep inside of you, his veiny cock sliding against your walls so deliciously.
It’s like that last night you had with him all over again just with more longing and more desperate kisses. Your stomach tingles with the overwhelming amount of emotions you’re feeling in this exact moment as you look up at him – his long hair slightly damp at the roots, his toned chest glistening in sweat as he works you both to a release, to a high you’re both so desperately in the need of.
“Fuck, baby,” he groans as you unawarely clench around his length, his head dropping to your shoulder. “Don’t do that or I’ll cum right now.”
“Sorry!” You squeak, chuckling as he eyes you with a small smirk. God, you wanna ride him so badly. “Oh, Jungkook,” you moan breathily as he hits your spot again. He’s watching you, eyes running over your face as it contorts in pure pleasure.
“Fuck, I’m close,” he grunts, leaning up on his hands to get a better angle. He rams his hips into you, his strength coming to show as he thrusts into you harder than ever before. The power of his thrusts have you seeing stars as your second orgasm nears you. Jungkook can feel it as you clinch repeatedly around him. He won’t last much longer if you continue to do that.
High pitched moans tumble from your parted lips as he speeds up his movements, desperately trying to get you over the edge before he topples over himself. Your nails are digging into his shoulders as you reach your high, the orgasm hitting you like a bullet.
“Oh my fucking god,” you moan, breathing ragged as he continues to fuck you to get himself to cum. His breathing is uneven, not matching his thrusts as all as he moves in and out a few more times before stilling inside of you, spilling his load and painting your walls inside.
“Fuck, I love you,” he breathes out as he drops his forehead to your collarbone. You’re smiling widely as you run your fingers from his shoulders and up into his hair. He lifts his head to look at you as you push his long, brown hair out of his face. You know him too well when he gives you a look, a small smirk on his lips. A joke is coming. You can just feel it. And you can’t help but grin at him as everything feels exactly like 1944 again. Also, you want to punch him for his next words:
“Not too bad for a 98-year-old, huh?”

BTS reaction when they are jealous  (Hyung Line)
Author’s Note: I often read a lot of reaction based fics and realize that perhaps my take on it is a little different. So here it goes. Do tell me if you like it or agree or just anything. Also, I am new to this so excuse me for any mistakes. Thanksss
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Seokjin or Jin
He watched from far as a man in his 20s approached you from behind as you finished the call you had excused yourself to attend. Judging from your reaction, he concluded that you knew the guy. Even though he couldn’t hear a word, your comfortable laugh, the way you slightly hit his shoulder while talking and mimicked his body language, Jin felt a weird irk inside him.
Don’t misunderstand, Kim Seokjin was very confident about himself but there was a part of him that often wondered if he was enough. He might be handsome but there were more handsome people around. He was not the smartest or the most athletic and he came with a load of baggage. So much that he couldn’t cross the room to where you were standing and openly declare that you were his gorgeous and brilliant girlfriend.
His thoughts were intruded by the chime of his phone.
“You okay?”, your text read and he looked up to spot you a few tables away. The young stranger gone now and your eyes only on him.
“No. I am Jin”, he replied in his usual manner, trying to hide the truth, cracking the worst joke ever in the process and wincing at himself as soon as he sent it.
He watched as you laughed unabashedly as soon as you saw the screen, your eyes glistening and he realized that this laugh was just for him.
“You must be really in love with me if you laughed at that”, he sent and watched as you read and suddenly the same look overtook your face that he had seen on himself so many times when he was with you.
He only took his eyes off you when his phone chimed again.
“Of course. Who else would ever compare?”
Tumblr media
Yoongi or Suga
This was getting annoying for him. Yoongi would call himself a pretty calm person especially after the ten years of life as an artist had made him immune to almost everything happening around him. But this was getting on his nerves.
You had walked into HYBE tonight and after just being at Genius Lab for a few minutes, you had asked about Do-Yan and went to seek him as soon as Yoongi told you that he must be in PDogg’s studio. Had it been a one time occurrence, Yoongi wouldn’t even have cared enough to think much into it but after this becoming a routine, he was over it.
Do-Yan was a talented young producer who was contracted for TXT’s new album. You were heavily involved in the A&R activities of BigHit Music and were actually the person who had discovered Do-Yan. In your perspective, he could be a great asset and while he was just here on a temporary basis, you wished to persuade him to sign him as a BigHit producer permanently. PDogg had agreed with you and now you both were on the task of convincing him to stay.
Unaware of this all, Yoongi decided to do something about the situation. As he typed the messages to the management team, he knew that this was very petty of him but he was beyond the point of caring right now.
The next time you asked him about Do-Yan, Yoongi did not look up from his computer as he said, “He has been moved”.
“What?”, you were shocked to say the least. “Moved? What do you mean moved?”
“He will be working with Bang PD directly now so he will be in the other building.”
“So, he signed the contract?”
Now Yoongi was getting agitated, “Why do you care so much?”, he had turned his seat around and was now only focusing on you. His tone was still calm but inside he was screaming.
Oblivious to the storm inside him you said, “Why wouldn’t I? He must have else he would not have said yes to that since...”, Yoongi was not even listening anymore.
“He did. I talked to the management myself and got him to say yes”, Yoongi said. His voice low and his back now turned to you. “You can move there as well if you want to see him and care about him so much”.
“You...but you didn’t know”, suddenly all the pieces fell into place in your mind and you scolded yourself mentally for not noticing it yourself.
“Yoongi”, you called out to him softly as you moved closer to his chair. “Jagiya”, you called again as you kneeled beside his chair, taking his hand lightly in yours.
“I just wanted him to join the company so I was spending most of my time on that. I am sorry that I did not clear it to you. I’ll make up for all the lost time now that you’ve got it done”.
Yoongi couldn’t even remember what he was angry about as you placed yourself on his lap, pulling him close to leave a gentle kiss on his lips.
After a while your phone rang and you announced that you had to go for a meeting. As you inched closer to the door, you remembered something and without even turning around you said:
“I can’t believe you got him moved”
You closed the door behind you but not before hearing his low chuckle.
Tumblr media
Hoseok or J-Hope or Hobi
“I think Yeonjun and I should perform on something more sexy?”, you said with your eyes fixated on his face waiting for a reaction.
His eyebrows furrowed and then as if thinking about it, he immediately turned to you, nodding, “Yes, I think it will work great with both of your stage personalities”.
You were surprised. This was not the answer that you were expecting. You had hoped that he would get jealous like all those TikTok boyfriends.
But you were not going to be dejected so easily.
“Why don’t you help with the choreography?”, you suggested, a plan already forming in your head.
“Y/N, I would have been offended had you not asked me”, he said as he showed off his gorgeous smile.
After a few days when you three started working on the performance, you tried to make Hobi jealous. You would suggest even more suggestive moves but he would just think about them and excitedly agree to them or politely decline saying how it does not fit with the steps.
He would watch as you danced, concentrated and focused, but unwavering.
After weeks of this charade, you grew tired and when Yeonjun excused himself to leave for a music show you exasperatedly sighed in front of Hobi who was monitoring the recently shot dance practice video of yours.
“I don’t think you even care about me”.
“Huh?!”, Hobi was bewildered. “What?!”
“Yeah, you don’t care if I go throw myself in someone else’s arms”, your voice was loud in the empty dance studio. You lowered it again, “you don’t care”.
“Y/N”, Hobi was now closer to you, looking straight into your eyes. “I care. I care a lot. I care that this performance is amazing because this is a great opportunity for you. I care that your steps show exactly how good of a dancer you are. I care and that is why I would never let anybody else do it instead of me”.
You were surprised. This was not what you were looking for but it was a pleasant difference.
“And I would care if it was not a performance. I would, I do care if anyone even looks at you in the wrong way but I would never take it out on you. I want you to be able to perform without worrying what I would take it as. I want you to be loved by everyone in the audience”.
His arms slowly snaked around your waist and under your sweatshirt, “just not the way that I do”.
Tumblr media
Namjoon or RM
Namjoon had watched you the entire night, his eyes refusing to leave your figure as you rushed around the venue making sure everything was perfect.
It was the last concert of the tour and you as the tour manager were adamant on making it memorable and smooth. Double-checking everything, you finally allowed yourself a moment of peace as you saw your boyfriend rehearse his performance for Trivia:  Love.
Namjoon locked eyes with you, smiling and rapping his lines as if talking to you. Suddenly, you felt the weight of something on your shoulders and you looked away from the stage realizing that it was your assistant, Alan, who had just covered you with his jacket. You smiled gratefully as he extended a hand holding your coffee.
“You should rest for a while before we meet back for sound check”, he suggested and you looked at your watch to see that he was right. Tonight was going to be hectic and a power nap was definitely needed.
You had not even realized that the stage was now empty and the leader was standing right by your side. His eyes were not on you, but on the man now sitting beside you, glancing at his jacket on your shoulders.
Shrugging the jacket off, you asked, “Are you done? Any issues?”.
Not answering your question, Namjoon kept staring at Alan and you felt bad for the poor guy. You asked again and this time Namjoon’s lips turned into a smile, “None, jagiya”. Jagiya?!
Now you were the one staring daggers at him but he did not waver. Instead, with the same smile plastered on his lips, he took off his jacket and placed it on your shoulders, pulling the zipper closer together as he made his way to where Alan was sitting. Alan immediately got up, excusing himself and vacating the seat that now your boyfriend occupied, his hand reaching across your shoulder to pull you into him.
You resisted.
“ ‘Jagiya’. Really?! Really, Namjoon?”
He just smiled at that, genuinely this time. “Come on, you know I lose all calm when it comes to you”.
“Calm and senses, both”, you murmured as he laughed and pulled you closer and you let him, closing your eyes and resting before work would call you again.

Tell All (Donatello x Reader)
Synopsis: Don and the Reader had been hiding their relationship from his family but they decide its finally time to come clean.
Genre: Fluff mostly, some crack, literally one sex pun
Word count: 1946
Tumblr media
Soft.
So soft.
Wasn't his skin supposed to be rougher all together? How were his lips so soft and smooth then? Just another mystery.
Your mouths split with a tiny wet sound, but neither of you was in a rush to go anywhere.
But you should have been.
"Dinner's ready!" came Mikey's energetic shout from somewhere withing the lair. Probably the kitchen.
A soft longing sigh left your lips, and you felt a warm current of air hit your face - Don felt the same.
"We should go." you state, convincing yourself as much as him.
"Do we have to?" he whined breathlessly.
Yes, yes, you did. And he knew that. You both did. Otherwise his brothers and his very observant father will notice you're acting suspicious. They'll probably figure out he wasn't just helping you study for that AP Statistics exam. That is, if they hadn't already.
Your hands slid down his shoulders in an attempt to separate you two but instead they fell onto the top of his plastron, thumbs running softly over the last uncovered skin there, where you knew he was sensitive.
"Hmmm..." it came out as a low growl and it surrounded you on all sides. "You're not helping."
"Am I ever?"
"DONNIE! (Y/N)! DINNER!" at least Mikey stuck to the strict "No entering during study-sessions" rules. That's good to know that he can be intimidated into compliance. Or blackmailed... Point is, it worked.
Donnie's head falls in defeat, forehead leaning on yours for support.
So glad he took those goggles off. You can see more of him this way.
He sighed again, defeated - he was too smart to not figure out that at some point your behavior will raise suspicion. His head lifted back, and turned to the door.
"Coming!"
And your cheeky ass giggled at that.
"Oh, Donnie." you teased, "I haven't even started."
"Pfft. " chuckle, and a snort.
He really did like your dirty puns.
The man took your hand into his cool giant one, somehow providing comfort like no other, as he pulled you to the lab entrance. But once at the door you had to split. It's part of the arrangement.
His family shouldn't know about you.
You two decided at the early stage of your budding romance that keeping the whole thing on the down-low for a while was the smartest choice. It would prevent his brother's jealousy, it won't incite any fights, it won't change their relationship with you and you'll get to feel things out at your own pace - no pressure or prying eyes.
Just you.
But there was a list of downsides too. For one, neither of you was a great actor, Don was even shit at lying, so you'd had to take extra steps to remain as friendly-looking as possible. Then there was the trying-to-set-you-up-with-Vern thing that April was doing and every time the topic came up you could act regular-disgusted but not in-a-happy-relationship disgusted, and so would your favourite turtle. And then there was the hiding, coveting each other in the lab or in small stolen moments in the lair, and the lying about going topside to do recon or install something somewhere, the covering up - no, of course Donnie wasn't with you at your place, he must have gone somewhere else.
You were quite honestly sick of it. You were ready to tell his brothers. You were ready to tell the world.
"We should tell them." his voice was once again low, quiet as if to preserve the last few moments of the secret to yourselves.
Once again you were entirely in sync despite being vastly different.
He was a genius, you, decidedly, weren't.
He was really into sports, you weren't.
He was a 6'8 ninja turtle raised underground by a rat dad, and you obviously were not.
And yet somehow, you clicked.
"I agree."
At that point you knew that your approval would kick into gear the most destructive process in Donnie's mind - overthinking.
Your hand immediately darted out and grabbed one of his pulling it up to your lips and kissing the knuckles in reassurance.
"We'll figure it out."
But still, you had to split. Even if you did plan to tell them, there would be a time and a place for that.
"What took you so long? The lasagna got cold." Mikey was positively outraged - as much as he could be - by your lack of interest in his usually excellent cooking.
"Sorry, Mikey." you butted in, trying to save the day, "There's just something about Inferential Statistical Analysis that I can't wrap my head around." Bullshit, you knew exactly what it was and how it worked - it's part of the basics but he didn't need to know that.
"Still smells great though!" Don sounds cheerful enough even though you'd just agreed to break the fragile peace in your relationship just a minute prior. He was getting really good at the lying part. Too bad it won't be needed for much longer.
Dinner was as uneventful as it can be around five mutant ninjas. Master Splinter asked about your day, you told him about the nearing finals season and he offered some comforting words after which the conversation bounced around the rest of the family in a natural progression.
Once you were full, and once all of Mikey's delicious food had been virtually inhaled by the four giant men around you, you got up to get the dishes to the kitchen and help clean up. It was only fair, after all.
Apparently it was Ralph's turn to wash dishes and there was no wiggling out of that because Splinter said so. Well, at least you can dry them.
And dry them you did, meanwhile casual conversation about whatever kept flowing and you figured you won't be able to go back to the lab and do some more 'Statistics'.
You were just drying and putting away the last plate when a thiqq arm stretched over your head to reach a cupboard you couldn't even get to in your dreams.
Your head whipped back, eyes landing straight on some hard looking chest plates under a pair of suspenders. And then you looked up and saw Donatello, the cheeky shit, with a pop tart in his mouth and a shit-eating grin around it.
"Oops, sorry, (Y/N), didn't see you there."
Oh, I'll give you Oops, didn't see me, my ass. You'll see.
He was being unusually open about his closeness to you and that was less then an hour after you'd decided to come clean.
He was ready then.
"I was planning on checking out the meatpacking District tomorrow." Leo was going on about that idea he had to check out some building or another, Mikey was wiping down the table, and Raph was finishing up the dishes, and for once Don was just there chilling.
His treat was gone, meaning he ate it all, he seemed relaxed, his shoulders loose and shell leaning on the wall.
No time like the present.
"You guys, I'm gonna head out. I've got work tomorrow and after that I've got a study group to attend so, I should head to bed."
"You need us to walk you home?" Leo asked more out of courtesy, he knew you lived close and would usually decline.
"No, no, that's okay." you replied, looking for your bag and jacket where you'd left them near the kitchen table.
"Aaaw, you're leaving already? Well, at least you ate." Mikey quickly swept you into a hug goodbye and turned back to sorting his ingredients in the cupboards.
"Thanks to you, Mikey Steward." to which he giggled in response.
"See you tomorrow, shorty." Raph waved as he turned to get a beer from the fridge.
"Stay safe out there, okay?" Leo always the guardian, warned you for the hundredth time, again just out of courtesy.
And then you walked to where Don was leaning on the wall, took his chin in your hand and pulled him down.
Oh, shit, am I actually gonna do this!?
Your lips met, your heart pounded, the room became super hot and that wasn't just because of the brilliant piece of man-candy in your hands. You could feel their eyes but then again that was the whole point.
A loud dramatic intake of air was heard, a drop of something metallic and then silence.
Your face pulled away from him, eyes opening slightly to look at him, as your weight fell back onto your heels from standing on your tiptoes. His face had that same dazed, satisfied-yet-hungry look that he usually had whenever you'd had to break apart.
He tasted so sweet, you just had to lick your lips at the memory.
"I'll see you tomorrow." you whispered, that was all you could force out in that moment.
"See you tomorrow." his voice was as soft as yours even though his brothers could probably hear.
You fully pulled away from your man, now certain that there'd be no secrets between you and the ninja clan.
You were not an actor, you quickly got embarrassed with your performance, however brilliant it may have been, and speedily scammed to pick up your belongings and jogged outta there.
You turned one last time, because something in you said you should and what you saw was truly a sight.
All three of Don's bothers with their mouths hanging open and Splinter peeking out of the door to the dojo with his eyes like saucers and then there's Donnie - the image of peace, hands in his pockets, a soft smile on his lips, now shiny from your lip gloss, and looking you straight in the eye as you retreated.
"Bye." you shout to no one in particular and scramble for the exit.
-_-_-_-_-
Phone - charging
Alarm - set
Pajamas - on
What's missing then?
Ding!
Your phone notified you that someone was requesting your attention and you were more than happy to find out it was your man.
'Hey, Laika' Oh lord it so got you giggling like a schoolgirl when he called you that.
'Hey, Tyson' and then he told you that he loved to be compared with the biggest name in astrophysics today.
'How did it go?' you felt super bad for bailing on him but at the same time there was this relief that came with the cat being out of the bag.
'Surprisingly well. No one was mad that we kept it a secret.' well, that's good. You won't have to jeopardize your relationship with the boys. 'Dad still wants to talk to you tho'
Ah, well, that's to be expected. Even though Donnie is an adult, the were still a very tightly knit family unit so, you supposed that something like that would be a pretty big deal.
'That's fine, I'd do whatever'
'I wish I could kiss you rn'
It honestly shocked you how chill about it he was. Probably because he wasn't being grilled for information anymore, neither of you would have to lie anymore, and because he could now tell Vern to fuck right off, with no worry about how it would look.
You were so looking forward to being solely and entirely his.
'Tomorrow we start anew'
He had a point, things would change. But hopefully not between you.
'Can't wait to meet you for the first time again lol' you didn't know if you were being funny or just cheesy but it felt right.
Despite your smile, your eyes started drooping, your breaths slowing and you felt the exhaustion of the day slowly hug you like a blanket.
'Goodnight'
'Goodnight, (Y/N)'

WC: 9k (longest one shot I’ve ever written 😭)
Pairing: Peter Parker x ex!Reader
Masterlist || Taglist
Tumblr media
"Ben? What's wrong? Why are you looking at her like that?"
"I- I don't. I don't know. She seems familiar."
"Familiar? Familiar how?"
"Like her and I don't belong here. Like we're from another world."
Working with Tony Stark as his intern, then head of the R&D and now working in the labs as the head of the department felt surreal, a fresh breath of air every time he looked at his desk, with his name written on it. It had been Peter’s dream to meet Tony Stark, maybe work with him too.
And then he got bit by a radioactive spider, giving him super strength, super eyesight and apparently super luck too, because though he liked to think that he was working in SI due to his intelligence, the spider bite did play a role in becoming his mentor’s favourite intern, without which he might have not had a chance to meet him hands on.
Tony kept reminding him that even if Peter had not been bit by the spider, he would have still secured a high position in Stark Industries, with his disarming intelligence that rivaled Tony’s own and charmingly trippy personality.
Peter begged to differ. But then again, he wasn’t one to look a gift horse in it’s mouth. Ever since he was a bushy haired, rosy cheeked jittery teenager, he had always worshiped the ground Tony walked on.
Peter remembers the day he got an anonymous letter, which turned out to be SHIELD's handiwork, asking him to join them in their base in New York, even if he insisted that he wasn't interested in being a superspy wannabe. He was skeptical at first, why would the most paranoid of paranoid agents send him a letter in mail? Him, twenty three years old Peter Parker, who lives in a shitty one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn with termite issues and smokes weed like the government is going to ban tobacco and is barely able to take care of himself with the overload of work.
Maybe it was just his Parker luck, or the fact that he was a freelance vigilante who looked after New York in a skintight spandex suit, because the safety of the people was apparently second in priority to the government. They'd rather have people die than have an illegal protector.
Yeah so Peter was salty, and what about It?
Slinging his satchel higher, he saw the sleek black car in confusion, trying to get a look at the number plate before the lift binged on arrival, walking into the open door. He swore he was either hallucinating or in midst of an intense flashback of the events that lead to what people dubbed as the 'Civil War', back to when he had been shaken out of his mind watching Tony Stark eat his aunt’s homemade walnut date loaf that had more salt than sugar.
His thoughts were put to a halt when he entered his and his aunt's old apartment in Queen’s after a long week of Spidey on mission and nearly getting (illegally) fired, footsteps coming to a pit stop. It's not like it's everyday you come face to face with Agent Coulson, Nick Fury and your ex not- really- girlfriend, somehow all in one day all together.
"So
um. What are you- What are you guys doing here again?" he asked, folding his hands on his chest defensively, leaning into his aunt's side as he whispered, "how long have they been sitting here?" from the corner of his mouth.
Fury raised a non-existent eyebrow, looking at him with a dagger for eye, making Peter shift nervously. Agent Coulson looked uncomfortable and You, You looked strangely in your element, sitting on the couch with one leg over the other, a neutral expression on your face.
Back when he was still in high school, when he'd first met you, he used to be in awe of how outgoing you were, seemingly adjusting in whichever situation you were thrown in. You had always accommodated to your surroundings, but with a start he realised that he had never seen you so
 You in a while.
Not during your visit to the Avengers tower, not during the first time you came into his bedroom, all alone. Not when he had seen you take down a mugger on your way home from your first date without even as much as batting an eye.
"They were here ten minutes or so before you came home. It's creepy, as if they knew you were visiting," May answered with a whisper, wearily eyeballing them before moving towards the kitchen, leaving Peter unattended to Your and Fury's piercing gazes.
"I'm sure they know my monthly schedule before I do," Peter said, turning to look at the aforementioned agents. "So... you like, work for SHIELD, too?" He asked, wringing his hands to abate the tension in them.
"Yes, she does, but that's not what we're here for, Mister Parker," Fury said in his gruff voice, sitting back with a sauve expression. Peter gulped as Agent Coulson looked him in the eye, finally noticing the thin file he held in his hands.
"Well what are you here for?" Peter asked, mustering up some confidence as he tried not to look at You or the eye that Fury had that wasn’t covered by the patch.
"We need you to come to Westview, New Jersey with us," You said, a final no nonsense undertone in your voice. He shuddered when he heard you, remembering how soft and sweet you used to be. But that was before you disappeared out of nowhere, and apparently that nowhere was with SHIELD.
"Me as in Peter Parker or Spider-Man?" he asked, looking behind his shoulder to make sure May wasn't listening. It's not like she didn't know about his
nightly whereabouts, he just wasn't comfortable with making her worry. She already had too much to deal with, with the nephew by day and vigilante by night thing he had going on.
It was also a little concerning that the three in front of him knew that he was visiting her today. He wondered if his apartment was bugged (well, more than the daily roaches and ants) or if SHIELD had been keeping an eye on him after he had denied their offer, instead opting to stay in SI.
It was probably the second one, although the first one was entirely a possibility. He was going to need to talk with Mister Stark about debugging his shitty one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn.
"We need Peter Parker and his tech skills for this one," Fury said, before shoving the file in Peter's hands and crossing his own, “and my offer still stands.”
"For the last time, I'm not joining your little murderous boy band," Peter grumbled, scrunching his eyebrows as he looked at your twitching lips, as if holding in laughter. "I'm perfectly content with working with Dr. Connors in his little laboratory in SI."
Fury didn’t look convinced and opened his mouth to probably threaten Peter, when Aunt May came in with a tray of cookies. They smelled amazing, too good to be made by her, she probably brought them from Delmer’s.
“Oh- Were you
? I just thought you guys might want to eat something,” She said awkwardly, looking at Peter with pleading eyes.
“That’s very thoughtful of you, May! I would love to eat some of those, I’m famished,” You butt in, taking the tray from her with a smile.
“Um, May, you can um- you know?” Peter gestured, shifting on his legs, hoping that May would get the message before she stood for a minute too long. He didn’t like the way Nick Fury’s eye was looking at him, his tranquilizer gun suddenly visible from his leather jacket.
“Don’t be rude Pete, here May, I’ll help you get that.” You smiled, winking at him and dragging May by her arm, who was mouthing “she’s such a sweetheart” behind her shoulders.
"What if I told you that his man accidently got evicted due to some legal issues? And that now you're legally unemployed with severe financial issues that need to be looked after because the government suspects something illegal brewing?" Fury continued, looking him dead in the eye.
"Are you seriously blackmailing me? Threatening to unemploy me after all that shit you put me through with Mysterio?" Peter defended, raising a disbelieving eyebrow, watching you strutt back into the room, distracted by the sway of your hips in your mom jeans. He tried to shake the image, rolling his head to crack some tension that had built at the base of his skull.
"Mysterio was a mistake, Parker. This one is not; and we really need you for this one. Besides, remember that you're still a vigilante that hasn't signed the Accords of Sokovia."
Peter stiffened that the mention of the Accords. He thought the government was over it after the second amendment after the arrest of Thaddeus Ross, but apparently not.
"You said that last time and I almost died! My ex-girlfriend almost died, my best friend nearly died, heck half of Europe almost died because you Director Fury, apparently trust some superhero wannabe in a green and purple costume and overlook facts that could potentially harm someone. So the answer is clearly no!" he retorted, flopping the file on the table as he resisted the urge to sit on the floor flat on his back.
The three agents were looking at him with an unreadable expression, making him uncomfortable in his skin.
"Well, it's all up to you then." His voice had a finality to it, one that irked him to no end.
"Do I have a choice?" He sighed after a beat, looking at the three of you with a forlorn expression.
"Get your equipment ready, Mr. Parker. We'll be leaving for the camp tonight. You can read the details in this file." He heard Agent Coulson say (he was pretty sure his name was Phil), trying to make sense of how fast everything was going past the chronic tinnitus in his ears.
"It's Dr. Peter Parker," he muttered fruitlessly, blushing under your raised eyebrow.
***
"So, I didn't know you got a PhD. I knew you were smart, still are, considering that you're a PhD at twenty two," You said, sipping on your virgin mojito, and placing the mug in front of you.
Peter had taken you to a cafe after the confrontation, wanting to know more about your whereabouts and how he had not noticed that you were a superspy all of his high school years. You had retorted with a simple "I'm a spy, that's why,” which he found pretty badass.
"Well, yeah, I did my undergraduate and PhD together." He shrugged casually, looking out of the window to avoid looking at you.
You had always been beautiful, but somehow, you had become even more beautiful than the last time Peter saw you.
"That sounds brutal. Only you can manage that," You joked. You weren't going to admit it, but you had missed being with Peter, joking with him and watching his beautiful side profile as he blushed under your scrutinizing gaze.
"So, um. This thing, what is it about?" Peter asked, snapping you out of your daze.
"Huh? Oh it's a long story. Like really long, if this was a TV show it would take five episodes for me to explain." You gestured, dismissing his scowl. "Okay, so you remember that time when that super high security facility was broken in back in december 2019?"
"Which super high facility? There are a lot of break ins happening in high security facilities in America, and it's more than concerning, considering they're supposed to be super high security." He said, fiddling with his own drink.
"Okay, Yeah that's true. It was a S.W.O.R.D facility, and long story short, Wanda Maximoff kidnapped her corpse husband to reenact the dad-knows-best suburban lifestyle with an entire town held as her hostage." You said, looking over your shoulders to make sure no one was listening.
"Wanda stole Vision's corpse? Wait, is this about Westview? 'The Town that ceased to exist'? Is that what happened? Is this some sort of mind control thing? Cause I know she can make people believe what she wants them to..." Peter whispered, leaning in to show that he was interested. You took a moment to admire his front profile, his broken nose and dimpled chin, rosy lips and sharp cheekbones, accidently zoning out on his theories.
Leaning forward, you brought a hand up his face, pushing a stray curl behind his ears, cutting him short of his rambling.
"W-what?" He stuttered, his breath hitching, making the table shake with a wince.
"You have nice hair." You commented with a smirk, caressing his hair one more time.
"You said that in the senior's party too, and well, there's no sex happening anytime soon." He said, rolling his eyes, sitting back in his hair with his hands folded on his chest.
"I like being optimistic." You rolled your own eyes, heart beating a mile a minute at the reminder of your relationship- ex relationship with Peter, "so what were you saying about Westview? I kind of zoned out."
You watched him roll his eyes again, trying not to let your eyes wander around his biceps and the little bit of his collarbones peeking from his shirt, unbuttoned from the top, also exposing the thin chain that he always seems to be wearing. With a start you realised that it was the one you had gifted him on his eighteenth birthday.
"So this town, Westview, it just disappeared right? Behind a barrier of sorts? Is it like, coming from an energy source? Was it created by Wanda?  " he asked, ever his inquisitive self.
"Yeah, apparently she's created an alternate reality, sitcom style, with the people of Westview trapped in it."
"So she's basically starring in a fanfiction alternate reality of sorts but a sitcom format? Wouldn't blame her, poor woman's been through a lot." He nodded, shifting in his seat. He could feel your eyes burning a hole in his skull, shifting uncomfortably in his chair. "Are you staying in a hotel? Or a shield facility?"
"Nope," You answered, leaning back on your chair. "Am I still allowed to stay in your room? With the doors open?"
He watched you with narrowed eyes, tilting his head with a smirk, replying to you with a nod, "alright."
***
"Did you pack your mittens? The extra warm ones with a built in heater? You know you're susceptible to frost bites-"
"May! I packed my mittens." Peter murmured, ducking his head in embarrassment as he raised an eyebrow at your amused smile.
"Okay, okay, that's great. Socks? Painkillers? Extra pair of glasses?" she asked, fumbling around the room like she did whenever he went on field trips.
"Yes, May!"
"Great. Stay safe, okay?" Her eyes softened, holding his cheeks in his hand like he was a seven year old, living with them with a knowledge of death no seven year old should have. Sighing, he leant into her palm, holding his own hand encompassing her small one. Giving her a smile, he kissed her cheek. “Ti amo, May. I’ll call you once I get there, okay?”
She nodded, pulling him into her embrace, though she knew full well that he’s going to forget to call her, too excited to be in the vicinity of multiple certified geniuses and other figures of authority.

"Is there anything I should know about? Like anything unexpected?" Peter asked, looking at the camp in awe as the jeep pulled over makeshift gates, a bunch of soldiers surrounding them.
Peter was used to seeing the hustle and bustle of camps, considering all the missions he had gone through with the Avengers, back when Steve wasn’t retired and the newer generation of avengers hadn’t entered.
“Your blood’s radioactive, right?” You asked, turning to face him with a smile.
“Yeah. Why? Is that relevant?” he replied, raising an eyebrow as he saw someone carrying his bags before he could protest.
“Well, Dr. Lewis found out about this hexagonal anomaly, no one really knows what it is, but the source seems to be emitting huge amounts of radiations,” You said, getting off the jeep, pulling Peter out with you. Walking towards the crowded camp, you came face to face with the tent where everything was set up.
“Doctor Darcy Lewis?” Peter said, looking at the place in awe. It wasn’t extravagant, but the technology surrounding the tent, the vans and what seemed to be a broadcasting antenna were all way beyond the regular one used in tech companies, which is funny, considering he’s been working with Mr. Stark his whole teenage life.
“Yup, that’s her, nerd.”
“So, what exactly is this Hexagon? Is it, like, a barrier of sorts? Can everyone go in?” He asked, looking around with glinting eyes, lips twitching in a smirk as he saw the barrier in question. His super hearing caught the static sound it emitted, wincing at the sharp noises. His boots crunched under the snow as he felt the thing pull him towards it, your voice muffled by the noises of the hex.
It was something he had never seen before, like the static of a TV with a lost signal, glowing red in places as if reaching out to him. His senses seemed dull, the world greying around the way it had before he was bit by the radioactive spider. The spider bite had enhanced his vision in a way that he saw colours not visible to the human eye, a technicolour wonder that even Bruce couldn’t solve.
He felt a tug, looking down at his shoes, wondering if he had just imagined it.
“Mom and dad have been, not fighting, just like different.”
He swore he felt a white light flash in front of him, his spidey sense buzzing at the base of his skull, tingling all the way to his spine as he straightened up to dissipate the feeling, shifting awkwardly.
“Only Captain Rambeau has gone in and come back intact so far. It’s emitting a colossal amount of cosmic microwave background radiation, also known as CMBR, and once you get into it, your mind doesn’t really stay your own, so no one has volunteered other than her. Everyone knows the risk,” You said, startling him, a sharp contrast to the voices that seemed to have suddenly accumulated in his brain.
“If you’re going to break the sound barrier, please just take your brother with you!”
‘Sound barrier?’ he thought, looking back at the hex as it flashed red, the tug strong enough to make him stumble in his place. You looked at him weirdly, asking if he was okay, but he wasn’t listening, turning to ask you what the red flash meant, distortion evident in the barrier.
“Captain Rambeau? The daughter of the director of SWORD?” he asked instead.
“Yeah, that’s her.”
“Damn.” He sighed, running a gloved hand through his hair, and dragging it down his face.
Walking inside the tent, Peter was hit with a face full of cold air, and the hundreds of monitors nearly gave him a sensory overload. The people running around didn’t help, either. “Where do I keep this?” He asked, pointing to his bag full of equipment that Fury had asked for.
“You can set up over here, newbie,” A new voice said chirpily. Turning around, he came face to face with the Darcy Lewis, eyes widening as he took in her smiley presence, another human who he didn't recognise standing behind her. “Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself! I’m Doctor D-”
“Darcy Lewis, I know- I’m a fan!”
“Aw look at you, you have a fanboy at your hand,” Captain Monica Rambeau said, strutting in and keeping a hand on her shoulder, confidence radiating off of her every pore.
"And
You are?" he asked awkwardly, looking pointedly at the FBI agent. He saw Darcy hide a snicker behind her hand, patting his shoulder and shoving him forward.
The man fell forward, steadying himself on the table before he flicked a card seemingly out of nowhere. "Agent Jimmy Woo, FBI,” he said proudly, a smile on his cute little baby face. Peter was left staring in awe, wondering how he had done that.
"Wait, can you do that again? How did you do that?!"
"It's cool, isn't it? I could teach you if you want."
"Yes, of course, but how did you do it? It appeared out of nowhere and if you take in consideration the law of conservation of mass, it can neither be created nor be destroyed and it just seemed to have accumulated-"
"It's a trick of illusion. You see, when I opened my palms, I-"
"Peter, let's set things up shall we?" You interrupted their session, a smirk on yours and the other women's faces, shaking your head.
Ditching the bag on the counter, he nodded, willing his heart to stop beating out of his chest. This was the coolest thing that had ever happened to him next to Tony Stark sitting on his aunt’s old futon. And the magic trick.
“This is the coolest day of my life,” he whispered, shrugging when you chuckled at his excitement. “Ned’s going to freak out.”
“Wait until you see the schematics and control panels.” You smirked, making him raise an eyebrow as he blushed, the flush apparent from his neck to his ear. The others scattered just as he finished setting his station up, fidgeting with the radio, when the voice of Hayward boomed across the cubicle.
“Ah, Mister Parker!” he says, a faux smile on his face as he looks at the station, making Peter shift uncomfortably. The weird tingling of his spidey-sense came up again, his hand automatically reaching there to scratch at the itch.
“Here we go again,” Darcy muttered, patting Peter’s back, her eye roll loud enough for him to glance at her.
“It- It’s doctor,” he muttered, hearing a “he gets me” from Darcy.
“Very well, Doctor Parker it is, then. I’m Hayward, welcome to SWORD.”
“SWORD? I thought this was a SHIELD thing?”
“...Fury didn’t brief you?”
“He did! He was just very vague, hence why I’m asking. What exactly have I been called here for?”
The silence that took over was palpable, with you shifting awkwardly as Hayward eyeballed them all, looking at the five of them morosely before saying, “Brief him Monica,” and leaving.
“God, is every higher official such a dick here?” Peter grumbled, watching him retreat, shaking his head as he threw the ball of paper he hadn’t noticed he had been fidgeting with.
“See? He agrees, I like him.” Darcy nodded, pulling him with her towards the briefing table.
“This all started when the town of Westview disappeared after the second blip,” Monica said, pulling up holographs that showed the image of people reappearing from the snap, his breathing increasing in pace as he remembered vaguely of his own reappearance.
The whole situation was fucked up. After stealing Vision’s corpse, Wanda had basically resurrected him, holding and controlling thousands of people, an entire fucking town. Looking at the list of all the missing people, his eyes zeroed on to one particular face. He racked his memory to remember who exactly it was, mouth hanging open when he realised who exactly she was.
“Is that
is that Agatha Harkness?” Peter said, pointing at the woman who had no name written under her photograph.
“You know her real name?” Darcy asked, looking at him with raised eyebrows as he nodded, wringing his hands around.
“Yeah, Wanda told me about her, she’s the witch from the Salem trials!”
“How is she significant to the plot, though?”
“She... she mentored Wanda, before she went to the dark side."
In the time he knew Wanda, she had been the sweetest person ever. She was like an older sister he didn’t know he needed, empathising with him on a cosmic level. They had come close before the events of Thanos happened. She was his person, and they shared a lot of secrets, this one being one of them.
“That’s one connection to her. What about the others? She keeps telling Vision that she doesn’t know what’s happening, but when the drone strike happened, she looked straight at the camera, like she knew,” Monica intervened.
“He tried to deploy a drone strike? In front of her children, after knowing very well that she saw her parents die in the Sokovian attack when she was ten? Is he fucking insane?!” Peter seethed, nearly crashing his fist on the table hard enough for cracks to appear on it.
“Peter, hey, calm down! You breaking things is not going to make the situation any better, okay? He already tried to chuck us out of this, you don’t go around breaking things now!” You said, holding him still as his body shook. You had never seen him this angry, and frankly, you would never want to see it again.
Peter was a sweet person, respecting people’s boundaries and always so understanding. He was the embodiment of good, even after living a fucked up life, he never projected his trauma on the other. He wore his emotions on his sleeves, and your heart clenched every single time, seeing him in pain.
"Listen, that's my sister in there, and she has no idea what she's doing. She needs our help and I'll do anything to help that woman and if you guys even think of hurting her I will make sure each of you regret it," Peter hissed, staring daggers at the silent team members of the room.
“Is there any way to reach there?” he asked, more softly than before. Darcy exchanged a look with Agent Woo and Monica, opening her mouth before knowing better and shutting it. “What?! Is there a way to communicate with her?”
“Follow us,” the brown woman said, breathing deeply as she looked at the other two silently.
"Where are we going?" Peter asked, fidgeting with your fingers. He hadn't noticed himself holding your hands, your lips twitching when you realised he had done that unconsciously.
“Trust me, I don’t know half the things these ladies do,” Woo whispered, and Peter nodded along seriously.
“Whoa, I feel like there’s a secret underground base here! Is there a secret underground base?”
“Well, it’s not underground, and not really a secret anymore,” Captain Rambeau said, unravelling a curtain, revealing a small space with a million monitors and a wooden desk littered with laptops and too many empty coffee cups.
“This is so cool,” You whispered, watching in awe as Dracy lit up the screens, revealing various codes and stuff you didn’t really understand. Peter was already invested, babbling about codes and addresses and hidden files within hidden files, things that flew over your head at the speed of Darcy’s fingers on the keypad.
Leaning on the table with one hand, Your eye caught a flat round metal looking thing on the ground, picking it up and tracing it with your fingers. “Is this
 a bullet?!”
“Yeah, it was hit on that suit, which turns out to be 87% kevlar. That happened when Captain shot at it,” Jimmy answered, giving you a smile as you dropped your jaw.
“She went in wearing a bulletproof vest right? Wanda just
manifested a dress made of kevlar?” You wondered, your words interrupted by Peter’s yelp.
“So, remember how Director Douchebag ordered a drone strike on Wanda?” she said, contemplating her words next as everyone turned towards her. “Turns out he’s been planning something else.”
“What’s that?” Jimmy asked, pointing at the screen, which displayed two boxes full of what seemed like cells.
“That’s Monica’s blood work, he’s been tracking it the whole time. The first time you travelled to the hex? It changed your cellular structure on a molecular level, twice.” She said.
A sombre expression took over the older woman’s face, pursing her lips. “He thinks I’m gaining powers.” Monica nodded.
“I may not be a genetic engineer, but from what I’m seeing here, he’s most likely right,” Peter interrupted, a silence taking over everyone. “He’s keeping track of the enhanced, if I’m not wrong.”
Shaking his head, he clenched his eyes when he heard another voice. You watched him weirdly, reaching to ask him if he was okay, before retracting your hand.
“Chill out sis, it’s not like you can kill your dead husband twice.”
“You’re right. He’s been tracking everyone who’s enhanced, including Vision.” Dracy said, typing something on the screen to show you the map of Westview, pulsing red and blue dots appearing in your sight.
“Do you know what his endgame is?”
“Yeah. Rebooting Vision.”
Peter inhaled sharply, trying not to let his face show the anger inside him as he looked at Monica with wide eyes, both of them looking at each other dangerously, both of them realising same thing.
“Then, I’m going in. Someone needs to tell her,” he said, looking at the others for affirmation.
You took a step back, gulping in anticipation of his words. Reaching out with a hand, you stared at him, hoping he wouldn't lash out. "Peter, you have to know, the hex is a dangerous place. You won't even remember who you are so there’s no point in you going in. You won’t be able to convince her to magically leave her hostages, she’ll just see you as an outsider and throw you out-"
"Captain Rambeau went in and she was able to get out!" he argued.
"Peter, I was tossed out because she saw me as a threat. She might not do that to you but going in that thing is dangerous, especially with your mutations-"
"I don't give a fuck about my mutation! You of all people should know how it feels like to lose family, Monica," Peter said, looking at her. The fire in his eyes spoke volumes. No one dared to intervene.
"Peter, your mutation could potentially kill you. You know the risks of going past the barrier due to your enhancements. The radiations are altering DNA to a molecular level, your cells-”
"-are already metastasizing! My spider DNA is going to get me killed some day because my body won’t be able to handle it anymore, so I don't care, I'm going and that's final." He nodded, puffing his chest to show that he wasn't going to step down.
"Fine, I'll come with you then," You said, looking at him as you said that. A lump formed in your throat as you realised that he was so willing to sacrifice himself, and blood pumped in your veins as determination set in along with a rush of adrenaline.
"Do as you please." He shrugged, pursing his lips, but his eyes were a different story. You felt sick, insides tearing themselves up as you took a good look at him and his pallor, the artificial lights illuminating the scar tissues on his face. Ones that you knew were inflicted by his years of being the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

“Maximoff is never gonna negotiate with us,” Hayward said, circling the table as Monica looked at him with disbelief in her expression. “We’ll need all the guns we have here to stop her.”
“We can’t outgun her, but what we can do is try and talk her out of this. Antagonising her is only making things worse. If Wanda is the problem, she has to be our solution!” Monica argued, looking forward.
“She’s already killed thousands during the Sokovian attack. How do you guarantee that she won’t kill another person she finds threatening?!”
“She was guilty about it. It wasn’t her fault, do not bring that into this.”
“Yeah? Well, the guilt isn’t going to bring back the dead children is it?”
"The dead children aren't coming back, but those people trapped in Westview? They can, if you fucking let us!"
"Fine. But someone will be monitoring you."
Negotiations with your boss and commanding team of SWORD concerning the ship was a tough feat. you had finally convinced them to let you and Peter go across the border, but Darcy and Monica were to be on the radio in case everything went amiss.
Sitting in the (illegally acquired) van, you watched Jimmy, who was trying to teach Peter the card trick, invested in the trick yourself. Leaning forward to get a better view, you tried not to let the rush of blood in your cheeks get to you at the close proximity with Peter, heart pounding with every step you took closer to the hex.
“I did it! I finally did it, Y/N, look!” Peter said, showing you the trick, smiling at his childlike enthusiasm.
“That’s great! You should show it to Morgan, she’ll like it.”
“How do you know about Morgan?”
“I know everything.”
You may have been bluffing, but he seemed to have caught on your cue, the awkward tension reappearing as he shifted in his seat, twisting and turning and going back to the magic trick. You tried not to smile, but your mouth never did coordinate with your brain.
“We’re here,” the driver said, parking the van.
“Okay let’s go through this again: Captain Rambeau and Dr. Lewis will be on the radio while you try and get in, stay near a radio as much as you can so we can try and communicate, and do not try to meddle with Wanda,” Jimmy said, going over your checklist.
You were skeptical of the plan, thinking about how successful your mission was going to be, considering how powerful she had become in her own little sitcom. You had heard of her expanding the borders just after you had started driving near it.
“You ready?” Peter asked, taking your hand as you nodded, and wrapped your fingers around his knuckles, before taking a deep breath.
“I’m ready.” You nodded, looking over your shoulders to see the FBI agent giving you a thumbs up, muttering something into the comms. Looking back at Peter, you felt dizzy with the buzzing anxiety, the pull of the barrier strong.
Stepping close to it, you felt electricity buzz in your veins, shuddering at the chilling sensation and sudden exposure to stimuli, your gut twisting the more your hand went in the hexagonal anomaly. You swore you felt your physical being tear apart, your life flashing in front of you in a white hot light, your brain was practically mush with how much force you needed just to get in.
"I thought we would be able to get in easily!" Peter shouts, his screams echoing in your eardrums, mixed with your own screams.
"She's becoming more powerful the longer she stays inside, and so is the hex," You replied, gasping for a breath as you tried to move forward.
With a final scream, you closed your eyes at the static sound bombarded your ears, you couldn't fathom how loud it must be for Peter, sending a look towards him. His eyes were scrunched, hands curled around his head and ears to stop the sound. Before you could comment on his state, your own vision doubled, bright green and magenta lights appearing out of nowhere, the coiling of your gut intensifying, and before you knew it, the strong force pulled you inside, throwing you off on the hard concrete of the road, and everything went dark.

“I’m okay. I’m okay. Everything is alright,”  Wanda said, repeating the phrase like a mantra as she sat on the couch.
She repeated the phrase like clockwork, just like being a mom to two half synthezoid pre-teens and the gatekeeper of Westview. Snapping out of her daze, she felt something in her brain stir, realising with a start that something had been messing with the barrier-- or, rather, someone.
Closing her eyes, she willed her powers, similar to the ones Tommy had, to look past the barrier, opening her eyes with a flash when she saw a familiar face.
“Peter,” she muttered, the brown eyed boy who she had come to think of as a brother materialising in front of her, dropping on the carpet with a thud as his unconscious form fell on top of Yours. Wanda remembered you from all the stories Peter had told her about.
Crouching down, she reached out to touch you both. Her eyes glowing red as she held a finger to your and his forehead, scrunching her eyelids as she navigated both of your heads.
A lonely young girl was seen sitting on a rock, the wind blowing wisps of her dark hair along with her dress. Suddenly, the noise of clucking of horseshoes could be heard, a woman coming into view as she got off her horse.
“Feeling lonely and afraid at the middle of the night when you’re a young and beautiful teenage girl?” the woman in the cowgirl shoes said, holding her hip as the girl nodded. “Well, don’t worry, every young girl must have a sword at her disposal!”
“A sword?” the young girl asked, tilting her head as she took the object in her hand.
“Yes, a s.w.o.r.d, my dear. Fear not, for the sword will protect you from all the hexes around you.”
The girl smiled, looking at the camera with the cowgirl’s hands on her shoulder. “A sword to protect the young!”

“What are you two doing here and not at school?” Wanda chortled, startling the two who were now very much conscious. The boy moved, fisting his eyes, and he curled his hands to stretch the kinks that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, the varsity jacket scrunching underneath his fists.
“Babe?” the boy groaned, messing up his hair, looking at the general direction of the girl.
Putting on a smile, Wanda folded her arms, biting her lips at how adorable the two of you were.
“Ben? Is that you?” the girl asked, looking at her disheveled frock with a confused expression, finally noticed the woman standing in front of her. “Oh my god, babe, I swear we were at the bleachers not long ago. Did you manifest teleportation powers now?”
“Miss Maximoff! You’re Billy and Tommy’s mom! Babe, we’re in Billy and Tommy’s house!” The guy, Ben said, his voice rising up an octave as he looked at his surroundings.
He couldn't remember much about the Maximoffs, except that his neighbours talk about the weird mom and dad almost everyday in the gossip sessions. Whatever, he wasn't interested in them.
"She turned them into teenagers."
"Well there goes our plan. Do we still have back up ready?"
“That’s right, kids. Now, what were you two naughty children doing out of school?” Wanda asked, helping the two kids get up as the boy blushed, stuttering an apology.
“We- we weren’t ditching, I swear, Miss Maximoff! We were just-”
"-Doing homework! Because
because Ben's a nerd and he doesn't like that he gets behind because of the baseball team!" the girl said, stuttering as Ben nodded along with her.
“Yeah! We weren't making out or anything! Even if we're totally dating."
Their relationship wasn't exactly your normal relationship. It was more of a
 mutually beneficial relationship.
Well, so far they had the entire town fooled, having them all think that a guy such as Benjamin Fitzpatrick would ever date a girl like her, who liked her books more than her siblings.
"Hmm, well, thankfully, I'm a cool mom and I will not tell your parents about this
thing. Whatever it was. Anyone want cheesecake?" Wanda smiled, clapping her hands once as she looked at the two teenagers.
Ben's stomach growled at the thought of food. "You don't have to do it, Miss Maximoff, but I would love some," he said, sheepishly looking at the ground, and wincing at another growl.
Wanda chuckled, patting the boys back kindly. "Oh honey, it's alright. Come on, don't be shy, the both of you!" she said, looking over her shoulder and saying, "and it's just Wanda! Miss Maximoff makes me feel old, you know."
They followed her to the kitchen, taking in the interior of the house. Ben's eyes caught something from the corner, it was almost as if it was
flickering? Shaking his head, he dug his fingers in his eyes, wondering if he was still feeling the effects of the time he had hit his head during the baseball practice.
"You okay?" the girl asked, keeping a hand on his shoulder to steady him.
"Yeah, probably the aftereffects of a concussion." He nodded, burrowing his brows in confusion.
"Hmm, should probably get that thick little noggin of yours checked by the nurse." She snickered, hitting his shoulders playfully. Her heart was beating fast, he noted, wondering how he could hear it so clearly. The thought that he would have to leave her after she gets a date for prom made him sad.
They may be faking their relationship, but he had caught on very fast and realised that he wanted it to be real. As real as the town of Westview.
Wait, what?
"You know we don't have to pretend anymore, right?" Ben said, looking at the girl as she came to a halt. Miss Maximoff was nowhere in sight, the house eerily silent with her heartbeat echoing in his ears.
"This is the best ship SWORD could ever make."
The awkward silence was interrupted by the opening of the front door, a loud jingle as Agnes came strutting in, a big smile on her face. It made Ben's neck sting weirdly, slapping his hand at the base to nullify the feeling.
"Hello, children! What are you doing, skipping school like the little troublemakers you are?" She grinned, pinching each of their cheeks as her voice took a baby-like tone to it. Ben took a step back, grimacing as she continued pinching his cheeks.
"Um, we weren't- we have no idea actually-"
"Agnes! Oh, what great timing! Were you here for Billy and Tommy?" Wanda came in, a plate full of cheesecake and crackers in her hand.
"Oh, Wanda, Wanda, Wanda! Your little troublemakers are already in my house, or did you forget?" She chuckled, the sound of her laughter taking a higher pitch.
Wanda furrowed her brows, opening her mouth to say something, before closing it, a grin taking over. "Right. Yeah, of course! They really love it there with you, huh?"
"That's right, everybody loves Auntie Agnes!"
Ben looked at his girlfriend again, feeling strangely out of place between the two women.
"Um, Miss Ma- Wanda? C-Can we go now? I feel like-"
"Oh, Ben, don't be ridiculous! Why don't you sit down and take a breather? You look pale, hon." Wanda smiled, setting down the plate and ushering the two kids on the table, both of whom looked at the table with hunger in their eyes. Well, it had been long since lunch break.
"Thank you for the cheesecake Mi- uh, Wanda, we appreciate it," the girl said, promptly digging in after the affirmation.

Vision knew something was wrong the moment Agnes showed signs of knowing what was going on. The first time it happened, he was sure his paranoid wife would do something, but she had continued to act as if nothing was wrong with Agnes' behaviour.
Walking down the road in his ridiculous costume, he nearly sighed in resignation, before he realised that he wasn't capable of such human actions.
One more thing that perplexed him to no end was his strangely human behaviour. It was as if someone was forcing him to act more human, some weird force that was so unlike Wanda's warm presence, something more foreign and way out of his realm (like the gum incident. He sure did remember Wanda chastising him for doing this atrocity, surely she couldn't have been the one controlling him? Right?).
His mechanical heart ached for his wife. She had gone through a lot, from what he had read from her thoughts; losing a brother (twice, if the absence of Pietro was anything but a confirmation), and then him (it didn't bother him much. He was a synthezoid, there was entirely a possibility that he could be revived).
He just really missed her, he realised. Their relationship had been strained ever since the boys were born. He didn't blame the drift on his boys, of course. He loved them to no end, would sacrifice himself for them, but he couldn't help but notice the change it brought in Wanda.
The arrival of Pietro 2.0 didn't help either.
His thoughts were interrupted as his feet halted their movements, and with a snap he realised that he had somehow made it to Ellis avenue, the border's static buzzing through his entire being.
"You look lost, buddy," a strange man said.
Looking at the man, Vision tilted his head, looking through the database of Westview to see that the man seemed to be nowhere in the records. How had he made it here?
"I- I'm sorry, who are you?" He asked, leaning against the car door to peer inside, the man sitting rigid. It was only then did he realise that the man's eyes seemed
glazed, almost like he wasn't aware. Looking back at the barrier, Vision gaped at the view in front of him.
The man's car was half inside and half outside the barrier, the slow moving particles seemed to be disintegrating the vehicle, watching in awe as sparks flew the closer the barrier came to the man.
"Listen, you have to get out of here before that thing destroys you." Vision tried shaking the man, but to no avail. His attempts were in vain as the man simply grunted. "Listen! Can you hear me? What's happening? Why is the barrier moving?"
He tried opening the door, but it was shut firmly. Groaning, he punched the door, nearly falling to catch the falling man, who was mumbling some incoherent mumbo jumbo.
"Wanda, what are you up to...?" Vision muttered to himself, realising with a start that the barrier was expanding and the man had come from outside the barrier.
Looking at the muttering man, he quickly moved them both away from the barrier, propping him up against the grass.
"I'm sorry," Vision said, his hands gliding yellow as he touched the man's forehead, his own circuits being bombarded with incoherent noises.
"Oh god! I'm sorry, please save me! Please, this hurts, this- you- you're the Vision!" the man screamed.
"Yes, I'm the Vision! Now, can you stay still? I'm trying to help you!"
"-Please! She's in my head!"
His hands lit up again, the yellow light smothering the man's forehead as he went still again, as Vision retracted his hands regretfully. Opting to leave the man there, he stood up again, startling once again that day when he heard a shrill cry, the body of
Geraldine? Appearing out of the barrier. Shaking his head, he was convinced that he was hallucinating, if that was even possible for a droid, and turned around to walk back home.
(Agatha gave a satisfied chuckle, purple sparks erupting from her fingers as she turned back to Wanda, pretending that that didn't just happen.)

"Do you think our school is a little
solitary?" Ben asked, inhaling a puff of smoke from the blunt in his hands. His girlfriend and him were sitting on the rooftop of Westview high, their feet swinging against the edge as she clutched at Pe- Ben for dear life.
Peter? Who was that?
"Did you see that?? Peter was right, that was Agatha Harkness and she's been the one manipulating the people, it never was Wanda! It was meant to be a plot twist, but I totally predicted it."
"Um
"
"What? I'm invested."
Peter?
Y/n? Can you hear me? Please say yes if you can hear me.
She noticed the static sound of the radio speaking to someone. The static noise increased, and Ben didn't seem to have noticed the small portable radio malfunctioning. Shrugging it off, she went back to passing the blunt from her boyfriend.
Boyfriend. The word ignited a flame in her chest. Ben, who she faked her dates with once upon a time, now was her actual, real boyfriend, who she was ditching homework to smoke a blunt with, uncaring of her nearing curfew. Her parents would have her head if she found out.
"Do you hear that?" She asked, exhaling the stale air from her lungs. She knew it was more of the deep breathing than the weed, but it made her feel serene.
"I've been hearing a lot of things lately." He croaked, clearing his throat, sniffing the air as he leaned back, his Adam's apple bobbing with every gulp. His glasses were sliding off his face. She reached to push them back up, smiling at the flush of his face.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked, slipping her fingers through his, rubbing a hand on his back. His life had been difficult, she knew about him being an orphan, but she didn't know he was having a hard time with life at the very moment, her heart aching for the poor boy.
"I don't know, I keep hearing these voices in my head. Children screaming, people crying, and this
this buzz at my neck, I can't ignore it anymore! I feel like I'm going insane and I can't keep them quiet! I've tried, but it's like they're trying to communicate with me."
Her eyes softened, hands running through his thick, straight hair as he leaned his head on her shoulder. Suddenly, the height at which they were sitting on didn't matter, she had him in her arms.
"He broke the fourth wall. He's been hearing things, just like Billy."
Wiping away his tears, she kissed his forehead, rubbing her hands gently on his back.
"It's gonna be okay. You're okay, they'll go away soon." She reassured, folding her legs to get up, and pulling him up with her. "It's getting late, and mom will have my head if I'm later than curfew."
"You've broken curfew before." He chuckled, stepping closer to Her, his hands on her hips.
Moving forward, she enclosed her hands around his shoulders, intertwining her fingers at the nape of his neck. Standing on her highest tip toes, she crashed her lips into his, their bodies swaying with the cold wind.
"Awww, they're so cute! Exes to lovers, I like it."
"I agree. Didn't see the fake dating coming though."
"Right?! Wanda should start a production company."
"If Agnes lets these people go."
***
Meanwhile, Monica had managed to find an abandoned shack in the backyard of Wanda's neighbour's house, her body buzzing with a familiar tension.
Opening the shack, she saw the trails of purple, vein like thing running their tracks until they reached somewhere she couldn't see. She didn't notice another person creeping up on her, too busy looking at the trails.
"Snoopers gonna snoop," the voice said, making her jump out of her skin, and keeping a hand on her heaving chest to stop her from hyperventilating.
"Pietro?!" She startled, looking around to see if anyone had heard her. The neighbourhood was eerily silent, leaning against the wall, before deciding against it and squared her shoulders, looking at the man in front of her.
"Yeah, that's me. But who are you? And what are you doing in Margie's backyard?" he asked defensively. She would have found the expression comical if it wasn't for her racing heart and adrenaline filled brain.
"I could ask you the same thing," she said, folding her arms to show a defensive stance.
"I'm here because
I live here?" he muttered, borrowing his brows as his eyes glazed over again, "Yeah, wait, no... I live with my sister! Who lives two houses from here! What am I doing here?"
"I don't know, you tell me."
"God, this is so weird. First Wanda was being weird, now I am."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing."
***
Billy was afraid. He knew that he should be stronger and braver, if not for himself, then for Tommy. His momma always told him that the only thing to fear was fear itself, and he didn't know what that meant, but he knew that he had to be braver to get back to his mom and dad.
"Billy, I'm scared," Tommy whimpered. "I'm hearing voices again."
"It's gonna be okay, Mom and Dad will be here soon," he reassured, just as scared as his brother. They were only twelve minutes apart, but he still felt a responsibility for him.
Mom said that they both reminded of her own brother- Uncle Pietro.
Hearing the door open, he felt a chill crawl up his spine.
"She's here! Billy, she's here!"
"I know! I know! Shh!"
Her footsteps came closer, the cackling of her laughter making his heart pound. His brother buried himself in his shoulders, both of them huddled next to each other, as if the inevitable could be avoided.
"How are my best boys doing?" Agnes' shrill voice rang, making Billy breathe faster.
"We want Mommy," Tommy whimpered, sounding as small as Billy felt.
"Oh, I'm sorry honey, that's not happening anytime soon." She tsked, sounding as apologetic as the villains in the action movies his mom forbade him from watching.
"Why's that?" Billy asked, squaring his shoulders as much as he could.
"You didn't hear? Mommy's dead."
And his world crashed, his brain crowding with darkness.

Alex finally texted everyone to let them know he found Kyle and he was ok. "In a coma, but ok."
Michael and Liz showed up half an hour later to check on them. Liz rushed in to Kyle's bed carrying some medical tools she brought to try and run some tests. She had the usual worried expression on her face, but the relief in just seeing the sight of Kyle was apparent. Michael stood by the entrance of the barn, letting himself breathe in relief too.
Alex came closer, hesitant, his hands tucked inside the pockets of his jacket.
"Why is Kyle in a barn in the middle of the desert? And also, since we are on this topic, how the hell did you find him?" Michael asked, worry and fear disguised as anger, as usual.
Alex almost regretted texting him. He didn't want to put anyone in danger, specially Michael, who is known for running head in into danger. But he knew he needed help, and Michael had been offering it for a long time.
"Yeah, I know, we need to talk."
-----------------
"You're working on a machine that's killing you??" Michael yelled, standing up.
They are outside the barn, Alex sitting in a tree trunk. Liz still inside, talking to an unconscious Kyle.
Alex scoffed. "I just told you I'm working for yet another organization that may be targeting aliens and that's what got your attention?"
"Well, aparently there's always some organization targeting us. I honestly don't know how we managed to escape becoming lab rats for this long." Michael holds back the usual sarcastic smirk, and after a second, he looks down. "But yeah, of course I am worried about you, because you've been keeping all these secrets."
Now it's Alex's turn to look away, unable to hold Michael's stare and explain that if something were to happened to him, Alex would never forgive himself. He glances at Michael's covered left hand.
"I'm fine." Alex finally says. He looks over to the barn. "And I think I can find a way to help Kyle. But I need your help."
Michael doesn't say anything, the expression on his face implying that Alex didn't even need to ask.
------------
Alex is driving the car, forcibly grabbing the steering wheel, his knuckles pale white. Michael notices it but doesn't say anything.
The plan, or... something resembling a plan, is to get the Lockhart machine. Something in the files caught Alex's attention and he realized that with an alien engineer, they could find out something helpful.
Michael looked outside the window, thinking about too many things. The machine's dangerous radiation emission, Alex's evasive behaviour the other day, Max missing, his fucking dad, Kyle and Maria both in a coma and nothing he could do about it. He closed his eyes.
"You know, when I found out about you being an alien, I was so scared of what that could mean. There was already so much going on between us." Alex broke the silence, as if he could read Michael's cloudy mind. "Kyle was the one who convinced me to just... talk to you." pause. "He said I was treating it like a confrontation. War."
"Yeah, you do that a lot." Michael replied.
"I know... I just- I don't know how to talk to you." Alex kept his eyes on the road.
"I guess that makes two of us." Michael breathes in. "Stop the car." He says.
"What? No."
"Alex, stop the car or I will."
Having no other choice, Alex stepped on the brakes, getting off the road. Michael opened the door and got out, leaning on the side of the truck.
Alex sighs, still on the seat, hands on the wheel. "Why are we always running away from each other?" He says, mostly to himself.
"Just to be pulled back again." Michael adds. "Get out of the car, I need to say something."
He waits, unsure. Alex stands up in front of him, both separated by the car.
"I don't know how to make you understand. I have been in love with you for amost half my life now. And I'm here. You can talk to me. I want you to talk to me. It's not war."
Michael doesn't know what else to say, words don't come easy for him. But he thinks about everything he has lost and everything that's crumbling right now, and all he knows is that he doesn't want to lose Alex too.
Alex looks away and doesn't say anything for what feels like eternity for both of them. Just as Michael is about to give up and get back in the car, Alex shouts "I love you. Present tense. Never stopped. And I know this isn't enough but... I want to talk to you too." And as simples as that, that's a start. Their start.
Michael's look almost makes Alex forget every single thing that's been weighing on his back for years.
And for a moment, for both of them, there's no pain.
"So... let's save our friends?" Michael asks, the smirk back on his face.
Alex nods, his lips on a smile too. "Just get in the car, Guerin."
