How Democrats can get a decent Speaker of the House

Yes, it can be done. And it's not hard: we just need to reach out to the ten (10) moderate Republicans whose districts voted for Biden in 2020, and whose political careers are being jeopardized by the antics of the TrumPutin wing.

Some have suggested convincing them to nominate current House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for the speakership; however, Robert Reich makes a good case for suggesting that one of those moderates seek the job themselves. Just tell them, "If you can get five of your fellow Republicans to back you for Speaker, you can count on every Democrat in the House to vote for you."

Reich suggests Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania.

Admittedly, Fitzpatrick isn't perfect: He declined to vote for impeachment, and he voted against establishing the January 6 Committee. However, unlike Steve Scalise and Gym Jordan, he voted to confirm the results of the 2020 election; and, unlike Gym Jordan, he played no part in orchestrating the January 6 assault on democracy.

In his favor, it should be noted that he has an exemplary record for bipartisanship, and he co-chairs the Problem Solvers Caucus.

If we can make Fitzpatrick the Speaker, we will have someone in that position who believes that government should serve the American people, not just one man. We can have a Speaker who owes no allegiance to the Mar-A-Lago Maniac and his Russian boss. We can have a Speaker who will tell Florida Pedo, Honey Cuckoo, and Bobo not just to sit down, but exactly where to sit, and what they should do once they sit there.

I stopped writing it out of respect to the many criticisms that Trumputin was inherently homophobic - though tbh I still felt the chemistry was there. But RPF is hard because you do have to take the biases and opinions of the public (moreso) into account; like if one of them *were* a woman it would have eliminated the homophobia take, but there would have been concern that the fic only existed due to a misogynistic stereotype of female sexuality - which also could have been a valid take.

personal comment (based on a ccn or bbc news report today & this parody art):

1. i talked about the danger of “civil war” like situation weeks ago. Trump used “civil war like tension” for the first time in a tweet a few days ago. the most dangerous phase is now starting.

2. i watched a news report from an average town in more rural region, and even if the people who were interviewed are not representing the town or state itself, the mind set is shockingly alarming.

3. even democratic voters who supported Obama but voted for Trump in 2016, don’t think that he can be removed from office based on the impeachment inquiry. main argument is that he does good things with the economy.

4. add to that selective factor a mentality of paranoia (’Washington/communists would take away their president’) and simple ignorance AND maybe media consumption reduced to fox news or a center-right radio station, you get thousands or millions of brainwashed working class voters who stay on the sinking ship. legal talks of elite-people about things on a piece of paper (i doubt that all of them read the constitution), far away in Washington won’t wake them up.

5. since there is no logical approach to the political things happening half across the country and on news channels that they never watch, these people WILL NOT MAGICALLY JOIN THE DEMOCRATIC TRAIN. i hear commentators often deduct from new evidence against Trump, that that one thing will be the tipping point. it will not! at least not in the way that center-left hopes is sufficient.

6. the most likely thing to happen is Trump being impeached by the House, saved by Senate majority in republican dominance and the base fired up for possible civil war like tension. nothing will be won in a way that center-left hopes. Dems must double their efforts in campaign 2020 and focus on such rural towns. bc from  what i learned (i try to understand the system but it’s still difficult), that electoral college sub-system can help Trump again, regardless of which candidate gets more votes in the entire country. Dems must at one point drop the legal crime topic and attack Trump on the daily life issues starting with health care, jobs, environment and so on. he won’t be removed no matter what new evidence comes up and the election campaign must beat him at the bread and butter topics. like ads and testimony by farmers who suffer after his trade war. or the people who wouldn’t have health insurance under his plan, which doesn’t even exist?! destroy the MAGA bubble with precise and concrete strikes about topics that the average people in rural america can connect with.

Today as Trump and Putin are meeting in Helsinki, the biggest newspaper in Finland (Helsingin Sanomat) “welcomed” them to the land of the free press by putting up nearly 300 billboards where they have translated to English and Russian some of their own headlines about Trump and Putin and their messed up relationship with the press. The billboards were up at the airport and all over the route from the airport to their meeting place. 

“Mr President, welcome to the land of free press.” (Finland is one of the highest ranking countries in the freedom of press.) This is an awesome campaign!

People keep saying Trump is Putin’s cockholster but what if it’s the other way around? You know that meeting Trump and Putin had? What if the entire thing was actually hours of just Putin rimming Trump while the latter strokes his mushroom dick. Did you think about that, libcucks? 

Because if Trump likes to pretend he’s dominant but breaks down like a baby at the slightest pushback, what would that mean for Putin who acts even more dominant? I bet all Trump had to do was look him in the eyes and Putin was down on his knees with his mouth wide open and begging for a golden shower.

I’ve even heard, won’t say who, but I heard that smart people have seen that Putin likes being slapped around in bed and that he especially likes it when Trump does it. So how, Killary supporters, could Trump be subservient to Putin if he’s the one slapping Putin’s ass for not giving him more votes? I even heard that Putin cries during that time because it hurts so bad. Liberals will try to deny this.
