just start reading zhenhun again. just do it. i miss it

just start reading priest’s catalogue of works in alphabetical order since i’ve got a list. why not? i mean it will take forever but... the randomness of selecting a work may stop my natural instinct to be lazy and just read the translation instead...

noticed like - while i am fully capable of now watching shows in chinese only, my laziness means i am very hesitant to UNLESS only the chinese version exists. as a result i had no problem watching killer and healer, word of honor, and now humans in only chinese while those are the only options. but once i see there’s english options (or even better - dual language) i just feel like i’ll ‘miss a detail’ and get less willing to practice. exceptions being stuff like guardian, where whether i turn on the subs or not at this point is random. i need more shows where i just DO NOT care if i follow the plot perfectly - Granting You A Dreamlike Life is an ideal practice show for me because while i COULD watch english subs, its such a hot mess show that its actually more entertaining to me to only watch in chinese because at least then its all a mystery a little bit instead of immediately in my face That Writing (although now that i’m not 5 months into learning but 2 years, the chinese writing may now also be Too Obviously wtf for me to handle). now i kind of want to just watch The Devil Judge in chinese subs... i was watching it and stopped anyway... why not... (this is Too Much but not as much as when I found out my favorite japanese plays are all on bilibili but only subbed in chinese so i got the horrificly challenging idea to watch the japanese i’m learning with the chinese subs i am also learning)

i am currently reading dmbj 1 and just thinking about how like... im too lazy to listen while i read... it means i have to stay focused consistently and keep my place until the audio is done... i know that its the bare minimum but wow am i lazy... audiobook separate is just so much easier... i really Cannot Keep my attention sustained on things without gratuitous breaks god...

relatedly, considering reading Liuli again. I miss the drama, miss the novel I only barely started, have been listening to the audiobook, need to learn more xianxia genre words anyway... and i have the print novel ON my shelf. 

i need a faster reading speed...

also missing the hanshe pingxie fic again and yet again considering reading it. its modern supernatural cases instead of tomb raiding and everyone’s still totally in character and i just... really like that fanfic author a lot. i am 1/3 through the story (like chapter 66). i just... i miss the story... i’ve read more of that author’s writing than i’ve read of priest, it’s familiar and comforting okay ToT

yeah lol i am just totally neglecting clozemaster and japanese.

in my defense, i played radio mode japanese the other day and a LOT came back upon hearing. which told me: 1. i really am an auditory learner WOW ever since i started listening to audio several times before/after reading i have retained info so much better. 2. my japanese comes back quite easy after breaks, still, which is good to know. because it sure does get a lot of breaks. I’m going to start watching Ossan’s love and Criminologist Himura so I wonder how much comes back to me when its not in familiar-flashcard-learning-app-format. japanese study is very much on the backburner rn, i have way too much i want to read in chinese that is being prioritized rn.

still very slowly watching Humans cdrama. Its easy to watch, just as usual my urge to watch shows comes and goes - i binged 16 eps while i had the urge, but now i have no urge to watch shows much and mostly only an urge to read.
