Can I say something I think everyone is gonna hate
#im a little sick of “doomed by the narrative”#it's just. so overused in my opinion. like what are we even talking about at this point#like genre conventions? foreshadowing?#are there any characters that are not “doomed” to the outcome of the story#is that not how narratives work?#sorry i don't want to be a hater that ruins people's fun. like if that phrase/trope speaks to you great#i PERSONALLY do not get the hype. perhaps im missing something. can we not just say tragedy though#also aware this is exclusively a tumblr-centric thing not like. a real issue lmao#truly im not trying to be a pretentious asshole i swear 😭
