Found that the rest area I stayed at last night had a trail. A nice little 1 mile. It turned into this bridged area, that went over a swamp. Anyone who knows me knows I’m terrified of water I can’t see through. Needless to say, while I DID try, I couldn’t do the last little bit. But it was a gorgeous little trek on solid ground. Hey Y’all!

How it all started

I never thought I would ever be involved with a trucker, just because the idea never came up. I never knew any truck drivers or anyone who did, so it nevercrossed my mind. Now I can say I am a proud trucker’s girlfriend! Sean and I have known eachother for 6 years back when he was in the navy and I was still in high school. Met up in Maryland and dated a little back then. We lost contact for a while and then when we caught back up a couple of years ago, he told me he wasn’t in the navy anymore and had gotten into trucking. He has an uncle who is a trucker too so it was easy for him to pick it up. After a while of catching up, we started to think that maybe this was more than friendship so the idea of being together crossed our minds. I was hesitant at first because I understood what his life as a trucker was, not being able to see eachother often (his home base is on the opposite coast), and only having a little bit of time together when we had the chance. I was scared but I had to see what tho thing between us was.

Well it’s been a while now and it was definitely worth it.

I created this blog to write out my side of being in a relationship with a trucker. It is not easy at all, and damn it’s been a hell of a time already, but our journey has been incredible.

There are ups and downs and everything in between. Maybe through this I can help shed a light on a life not many people know about!

More Women in The Trucking Industry

What are you waiting for to start your career as a professional truck driver?
