hi! can i please send in a request for a severide imagines where the reader is jay and wills sister and her and severide have been dating and the reader is a firefighter and gets stuck im a building. Thanks
Yes of course!
Kelly Severide- Stuck
Most people would think that our parents would be proud. Having one child as a doctor, one a police officer and one a firefighter, but no. Our mom died while I was young. Our dad, well we didn't have the best relationship and then he passed away. My brothers Will and Jay are my rocks and I love them so much, so telling them I am dating Lieutenant Kelly Severide was very nerve racking, especially because Kelly and Jay are such good friends. However when I did tell them they just had the usual 'you hurt her and I'll hurt you' kinda talk.
We’ve just had a call about a house fire, possibly arson so Jay and some of the other at intelligence will be there.
When we arrive I see my Jay and Erin waiting for us
“What have we got?” I ask walking over to them
“We think at least 2 people are inside. Just need your guys to do their thing so we can go inside to look” I nod my head at Erin
“Ok” I turn around
“Hey YN” Jay calls my name
“Hmm?”
“Be careful, we don’t know if the arsonist is inside. Could be armed”
“Well if you hear me scream then you know we have a problem” I say
“Don’t even joke about that” Jay scolds. I give him a quick hug and run back over to truck
“Halstead your with me” Matt says putting his helmet on. I nod getting mine. Kelly then takes my hand in his and gives it a little squeeze. Some thing we do when one of us is going on a job and we still need to be professional. I followed Matt and we both walk into the burning building
“Fire department call out!” I shout scouting the room. I follow behind Matt up the stairs. We open one of the doors to check in
“Fire department call out!” Matt shouts. I then notice a woman on the floor
“Casey” I say walking over to her. I feel for a pulse. It’s faint but it’s there. I take off my oxygen mask
“What the hell are you doing!”
“She will die if…”
“YN, Matt you need to get out, buildings unstable”
“We can’t leave her” I cough feeling the smoke starting to get to me
“Ok” Matt starts to drag the woman out while I hold her feet. Suddenly the floor under me collapses
“Halstead! You good?” Matt shouts
“I think so”
“Damn it” my alarm starts going off “Boden Halsteads gone down, permission for squad”
“Permission granted” that’s when my arm feels stuck
“Casey?” I call
“Yeah?”
“I think my arms stuck under the wood” I cough out
“Ok hang in there. Squad are coming in now”
Within a few minutes Kelly is hanging over the hole in the ground. I can’t stop coughing as I keep inhaling the smoke
“How you doing down there”
“Struggling to breathe” I chock out “arm hurts”
“Ok let’s get you out of here. Can you grab my hand?” I reach up but can’t get to Kelly “ok I’m coming down. Cruz get the rope and a spare mask” it’s getting even harder to breathe “just stay with me ok?” I give a little nod. Kelly drops down with a mask and places it around my face
“This is probably going to hurt like hell, but I need you to pull your arm out when I say”
“Ok” I breath out. Kelly lifts up the wood trapping my arm. The pain is excruciating as I pull my arm out and that’s when it all goes dark.
I wake up the the sound of beeping machines. Great I’m in the hospital. Slowly I open my eyes. My arm feels heavily. I look down and see it in a cast. Kelly immediately stands up gaining my attention
“The woman?” I croak. Kelly chuckles as he helps me take a sip of water
“Always putting people above yourself. She’s fine. Just smoke inhalation” I give Kelly a nod “your brothers are here. Want me to send them in?”
“Yeah” in walks Jay and Will
“How you feeling?” Jay asks walking over to me looking worried
“Like I’ve got some sort of throat infection”
“You’ll have a bad throat for a day or two” Will tells me
“I know the drill. Remember this isn’t the first time I’ve inhaled smoke”
“That’s not a sentence any of us want to hear” Will says sitting at the end of bed
“When can I go home?”
“Well since you have such a loving caring brother who’s also a doctor..” I give Will a kick with my foot “ok ok. Tomorrow, just have to watch you overnight. Now I need to get back to work. I’ll see you later” Will kisses my forehead before leaving me
“You both need to go back to work as well” I tell Jay and Kelly
“You going to be ok on your own?”
“Kel I’ll be fine. Seriously it’s just a broken arm and sore throat and anyway I’m sure April and Maggie will pop in to see me. Go”
“Ok. Love you”
“Love you too” Kelly bends down and kisses my lips
“Alright move away before I throw up” Jay pulls Kelly back making us chuckle “see you later” he also kisses my forehead. Jay then pushes Kelly out the door
“Love you!” I shout to my brother and Kelly trying not to laugh. I’m so lucky they all get on, I don’t know what I would do if they didn’t.

The Top Industries That Rely on Construction Equipment Rental
Owning construction equipment can be cost-effective over time, but the initial investment is often overwhelming. You’ll need to cover significant upfront expenses, including storage, maintenance, and repairs. Fortunately, there’s a hassle-free alternative: renting construction equipment in Ontario. This option provides access to high-quality equipment without the burden of long-term commitments. Notably, the construction equipment rental market was valued at USD 39.22 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.73% by 2029.
Source: https://www.arizton.com/market-reports/us-construction-equipment-rental-market
Intrigued to know who else relies on rented construction equipment? Well, here are the top five industries where renting machines can make all the difference.
#1 Construction and Infrastructure Development
If we start with the most obvious industry, it will be the construction ecosystem. Have you ever watched a busy construction site with machines that are rented from the industry’s best? We mean, think about it: why would a contractor invest in a fleet of excavators, dump trucks, or bulldozers when they only need the equipment for a few months?
This is when they resort to a construction equipment rental company that uses the latest equipment for specific tasks without worrying about storage or upkeep. Whether we are talking about a small-scale residential project or massive highway construction, renting offers construction firms the flexibility and cost savings they have been looking for for so long.
#2 Oil and Gas Industry
The oil and gas industry tends to operate in remote, rugged environments, which is why specialized equipment is the need of the hour here. From digging trenches for pipelines to maintaining access roads, the oil and gas projects require heavy-duty machinery like loaders, backhoes, and even horizontal drilling machines.
Instead of hauling their equipment across long distances, oil and gas companies rent what they need locally to save time and ensure they are using the right machines for the job.
#3 Landscaping and Agriculture
Yes, even the green-thumb industries rely on heavy machinery! Landscapers and farmers often need equipment like skid steers, compact tractors, or mini excavators for short-term projects.
For example, let’s say a landscaping company lands a contract to reshape a large outdoor space with retaining walls and water features. Owning all the necessary equipment wouldn’t make sense for such occasional, high-stakes jobs. Renting ensures they get exactly what’s needed without draining their budget.
If you are in this line of work, renting is like borrowing a friend’s truck for a weekend, except the “friend” is a rental company with a massive selection.
#4 Mining and Quarrying
Mining is all about efficiency, and the right equipment can make or break a project. Dump trucks, excavators, and drilling rigs are just a few of the machines needed to extract minerals and resources.
But here’s the catch: mining companies don’t always need the same equipment for every site. Renting gives them the freedom to pick and choose what’s necessary for each project. It’s a flexible, budget-friendly approach that helps them stay competitive.
If you have ever thought mining was all about owning big machines, think again; rental is a huge part of their game plan.
Are you scouring the web for a construction equipment rental company for your next big construction project? Our team at Elvaan Equipment Solutions will be more than happy to help!

Heavy Construction Equipment Types
There are dozens of different types of heavy construction equipment, ranging from standard machines found on almost every job site to esoteric items employed for specific jobs. Even seasoned construction workers may come across equipment names they are unfamiliar with from time to time. If you’re new to the industry, there are probably a lot of equipment names you don’t know.
We’ve put up a list of 30 important pieces of construction equipment so you can get a better understanding of what they are, how they work, and what they do. In addition, these pieces of construction equipment originate from a variety of industries, including roadbuilding, demolition, construction, forestry, and more.
BACKHOE LOADER
A backhoe is a type of excavation machine that is widely useful. The term “backhoe” refers to an attachment that people can mount on a variety of heavy machinery and consists of an arm with a digging bucket at the end. The term “backhoe” is frequently refer to a backhoe loader, which is a backhoe has couple in a front loader. The most versatile earthmover in the construction sector is this machine. Moreover, it comes with a bucket in front and a backhoe attachment in rear, allowing you to dig trenches, load and unload materials, and lift objects.
BOOBOOM LIFT
A boom lift is a movable, usually wheeled, machine. It consists of a long crane with a platform or bucket at the end that can normally accommodate one or two employees. Furthermore, workers can safely access high sections on a construction site, such as an upper story on a building’s front, using this aerial lift. Both articulating and telescopic boom lifts are available.
BULLDOZER
COLD PLANER
A cold planer is an asphalt and concrete milling machine. A conveyor belt system transports the ground asphalt up from the drum when the machine grinds the asphalt on a road or other surface. Moreover, the operator follows a dump truck near enough that the loose asphalt falls into the back of the truck.
COMPACT TRACK AND MULTI-TERRAIN LOADER
A compact track loader and a multi-terrain loader are both small loaders, but on most construction sites, they are powerful workhorses. These compact loaders make it easy to transfer materials around a construction site. Attachments can do a variety of tasks. Furthermore, the undercarriage of a compact track loader is great for more harsh situations, whereas the ground pressure of a multi-terrain loader is lower, making it a safer alternative for more delicate surfaces.
COMPACTOR
A compactor is a machine that compresses and reshapes soil, gravel, or asphalt surfaces. As a result, they are a great asset in road construction and other construction projects. Compactors are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. A plate compactor, which works similarly to a lawnmower, is one of the most frequent types. The vibrating base plate evens out the surface beneath it. A road roller is another typical form, which is a vehicle with a big revolving cylinder that compresses the ground beneath it.
DRAGLINE EXCAVATOR
A dragline excavator is a huge piece of machinery that is great for deep excavation. This machine has a long boom with a suspended digging bucket at the end. The bucket is controlled by a system of ropes and chains. Some dragline excavators are small enough to transport to a job site, whereas larger dragline excavators, such as those great in strip mining, are on-site. However, these draglines can weigh tens of thousands of tons.
DRILL RIG
A drill rig may not be present at every construction site, but it is a necessary component of any well. A drill rig can assist you in gaining access to subterranean water, oil, or natural gas. Drilling rigs come in a variety of sizes. A derrick is the tall structure you see, but there are several more parts that work together to drill into a substance. Augers, small drilling rigs that a single worker may operate manually, are on the other end of the size spectrum.
DUMP TRUCK
A dump truck is a truck with a huge box bed on the back that is great to transport items to and from building sites as well as move materials about. The operator can use hydraulic rams to elevate the front end of the truck bed and dump the goods inside. This makes it simple to dispose debris to a landfill or construction site. Some dump trucks are excellent to be drive on the road, while others are good for navigating rough terrain.
EXCAVATOR
Another common piece of construction equipment, an excavator, is utilized for a number of activities. Inside a 360-degree rotating cab, an operator sits. This is why an excavator is sometimes referred to as a 360. The cab is mounted on top of a track-based undercarriage, while some excavators have wheels. At dig, lift, and perform other tasks, operators utilize a bucket attached to the end of a stick and a boom that extends from the cab.
FELLER BUNCHER
In logging and land clearing activities, a feller buncher is a useful asset. A feller buncher is made out of a cab that is mounted on tracks or wheels and has a boom attached to it. This may sound like an excavator or other similar machinery thus far. The major feature that distinguishes a feller buncher is the feller buncher head at the boom’s end. This equipment wraps around tree trunks and uses a chainsaw to cut the tree down at the base before putting it elsewhere to be taken away.
FORKLIFT
Forklifts are commonly found in warehouses, but they may also be found on construction sites because they assist with many types of material handling. A forklift resembles a compact automobile in appearance, having a mast, lift cylinder, backrest, and carriage at the front, as well as prongs extending forward from the cab’s bottom. These components enable you to lift and transfer objects, such as brick pallets, from one side to the other. Forklifts come in a variety of shapes and sizes, each suited for a specific application.
FORWARDER
A forwarder, like a feller buncher, is a useful piece of forestry equipment. A forwarder transports logs to a loading site, whereas a feller buncher chops down trees and places them in a pile. This piece of machinery is essentially an off-road vehicle with eight wheels and a log-carrying device that keeps logs just above the ground so they don’t drag. A forwarder is distinguished from a skidder, which drags trees on the ground. The size of logs that a forwarder can transport is limited.
FRONT-END WHEEL LOADER
Wheel loaders are one of the most versatile pieces of construction machinery. These loaders, as the name implies, move about a job site on wheels. A bucket is the default attachment, and it can scoop up, transfer, and unload things. Other attachments, such as augers, backhoes, and rippers, can be used to assist with a range of jobs. Wheel loaders are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from little to large, allowing you to select the model and accessories that are best suited to your needs.
GRADER
HARVESTER
A harvester is a forestry machine that is used to harvest logs. Operators utilize this machine’s large cab and associated arm to clear areas and grab wood. A specific attachment on the arm’s end aids in the cutting, processing, and debarking of trees. Harvester attachments are designed to fit a variety of tree sizes for optimum versatility.
KNUCKLEBOOM LOADER
Another instrument for logging is a knuckleboom loader. A knuckleboom loader takes over after a forwarder or skidder has deposited logs at a loading location to load the cut and stripped logs onto a truck and transport them to their final destination. This loader is a swing machine with a crane head that is specifically intended to pick up logs and load them into a truck quickly and efficiently. A knuckleboom loader’s cab can be attached to a trailer or operate on wheels or rails.
MANLIFT
The phrase “manlift” can refer to a wide range of aerial lifts, including boom lifts, scissor lifts, and more. A manlift, on the other hand, is a device with a power-driven belt that only goes in one way and is used to convey personnel from floor to floor, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Because they travel up and down rather than side to side, these are also known as vertical personnel lifts. They’re usually made to transport only one worker at a time.
MIXER
A mixer is a truck with a huge drum that mixes concrete in the building industry. To mix the components and make wet concrete, the operator just adds dry cement, aggregate, and water to the drum and rotates it. A spiral blade on the inside of the drum aids in mixing. Some vehicles are specifically designed to mix concrete, but you may also acquire mixer attachments or stationary mixers to use on a job site.
MOBILE CRANE
A mobile crane is an exceptionally handy piece of lifting and moving equipment. These cranes have wheels or tracks, as the “mobile” part of their name implies, so you can drive them around a construction site, especially if they’re all-terrain models. The hoist mechanism, which has a hook at the end to hold objects, is usually moved by hydraulics in most cranes. Some mobile cranes can spin 360 degrees, making narrow spaces even easier to navigate.
PAVER
An asphalt paver, or paver for short, is a machine used in the construction of roads and other comparable projects such as parking lots. Typically, asphalt is continuously fed into the paver’s hopper, which is placed at the front of the machine, by a dump truck. This helps the paver to evenly distribute the asphalt on the desired surface. A small roller on the paver compacts the asphalt, but a road roller is still needed to pack it down and smooth it out even more.
PILE DRIVER
A pile driver is a necessary piece of equipment for deep foundation work. A crane extends a boom in a standard pile driving technique. A lead, a frame for aligning the pile, a hammer, and a pile are all attached to the boom. Pile driving equipment raises a pile before driving it into the ground to the desired depth. Deep foundations require this type of support.
SCISSOR LIFT
SKID STEER LOADER
A skid steer loader is a four-wheeled piece of construction equipment that is flexible and compact. Its name comes from the fact that skid steer operators must utilize differential steering, which is a technique in which one side of the vehicle propels forward while the other is lock, causing the equipment to skid in the right direction. Moreover, skid steers have a large turn radius thanks to this steering system, making them ideal for maneuvering in confined locations. A skid steer can be equip with a variety of work tools.
SKIDDER
A skidder is comparable to a forwarder in terms of function. The fundamental difference between a skidder and a forwarder is that skidders drag trees along the ground and can often manage a wider range of tree sizes. A cable skidder is a typical skidder that pulls trees using a cable. Furthermore, a skidder drops trees at a loading site where they can cut down and load into a truck.
TELEHANDLER
Telehandler is an abbreviation for telescopic handler. Telescopic refers to the telescoping boom on this equipment, to which you can attach numerous tools for various jobs. Apart from the boom, this machine resembles a larger, more powerful forklift. A telehandler is a flexible material handling machine that combines the duties of a crane and a forklift. A telehandler, in comparison to a forklift, has larger tires that are more suited for off-road applications. It can also reach greater heights and carry out more jobs.
TOWER CRANE
Tower cranes are larger than the previously stated mobile cranes. These gigantic cranes aren’t even somewhat movable. The engineers install them at a specific spot, usually in a concrete slab on the ground. Tower cranes are a sort of balance crane that has a T-shaped design. The counterweight connects to one end of the horizontal component, while the hook attaches to the other end of the horizontal piece, which extends further away from the crane’s vertical portion. The crane’s operator’s cab is located at the crane’s junction.

borewell
Borewells & tubewells are very similar. Both are basically vertical drilled wells, bored into an underground aquifer in the earth's surface, to extract water for various purposes. The difference in the two lies in the type of casing used, the depth of this casing and the type of soil where they are drilled. Casing to support the external surfaces of the borehole against collapse may be needed at certain depths, and usually is made up of PVC pipes. Electrical pumps are usually used to pump out the water from the borewells, thougExcessive drilling of borewells has led to exploitation of groundwater at higher rates than the rate of water recharge and caused depletion of the groundwater levels. To monitor this many states like Karnataka & Kerala have come up with laws & a statutory authority to regulate and keep tabs on groundwater utilization. Some states have implemented groundwater legislation acts which prevent drilling of borewells without the permission of Government Bodies in water scarce regions. However, some states allow only drilling of drinking water borewells without the need for obtaining permission.
Different types of Bore Well Machines used for borewell drilling work :
Short-length borewells
High-power sensor rig borewell machines
Gas borewells / Robo Bore wells
Deep well boring machinery unit
Truck mounted water well drilling machine
Water Bore Well Drilling Machines
Portable Bore well drilling machine
Tube well boring machine
Truck Mounted Mud Rotary Drilling Rig
How to find underground water?
Most of the humans depend on groundwater for home or agriculture or constructions or other industrial use. Groundwater has been the best affordable choice and less vulnerable to pollution than the surface water.
Groundwater can be easily found in the aquifers or the permeable rocks that consists of collected groundwater. Hydrogeologists study how the water interacts with the natural surroundings of rock and soil.
Borewell machines are used to drill or dig deep underground to bring out the borewell water.
How does the Borewell Rig Machine Function?
Borewell Rig machine consists of carrier, compressor, mast top head drive and hydraulics etc. For drilling a hole in the underground, the drilling machine uses drill bit, also known as bore well hammer. Bore well hammer receives strong air pressure that is sent through the strong iron pipes from the compressor inside the hammer.
Bore well hammer consists of top sub, o ring, check valve, spring, compression buffer, air distributor, internal cylinder, piston, another o ring, stop drive, drive chuck and drill bit.
These are the parts that help borewell machine to dig or drill hole in the underground after the Hydrogeologists locate the borewell point for underground water

Matt Casey: That’s right. Just another day.
Hallie Thomas: I want it noted for the record that I don’t believe a
word you’re saying.
Matt Casey: Good thing you’re a doctor and not a lawyer, because
I’m just gonna let this blow over. Call you later.
I’ll just be a minute.
Peter Mills: Lieutenant.
[truck door shuts]
Lady 1 (lady on the phone): Sir, um, you can’t go in there. Sir?
[door swings open]
Hank Voight: Listen, I have a visitor. I’ll get back to you.
[receiver clicks]
Matt Casey: Stay away from me.
Hank Voight: Excuse me?
Matt Casey: I’m telling you to back off.
I’m telling you and whatever garbage you have
working under you to stay the hell away from
us.
Hank Voight: Sir, I don’t know what this department did to…
Matt Casey: I mean it.
Hank Voight: Get your ass out of my office before I throw you
through that window.
Matt Casey: The threats don’t work, Voight.
I’m not some scared banger begging for a look the
other way. Know this…I’m not retracting my
statement. Ever.
What, you all afraid of this guy? Huh?
Someone tell me why.
Hank Voight: Alright, come on, get back to work. Show’s over.
(Over radio): Truck 81. Factory accident, Ogden and Ash.
[engine starts]
Matt Casey: Drive.
[truck door shuts]
cutscene
Man 1: He’s over here.
Move out of the way. Move! Move!
Kelly Severide: How we doing?
Victim 1: [panting] I just need some help getting it out.
Kelly Severide: Okay, well, just stay with us.
Christopher Herrmann: The power’s off, it’s locked out. Holy cow.
Mouch: Bone saw.
Gabby Dawson: What do we got?
Leslie Shay: Excuse me.
Kelly Severide: Trapped arm,
Gabby Dawson: How are you feeling?
Victim 1: Not so good to tell you the truth.
Gabby Dawson: [whispers] That’s a lot of blood.
What’s your name, hun?
Victim 1: [clears throat] Garrett.
Gabby Dawson: Garrett, how long you been stuck, hun?
Victim 1 (Garrett): [groans & whimpers] I don’t know.
Gabby Dawson: [yelling] How long’s he been stuck?
Man 1: Going on 15.
Victim 1 (Garrett): [groans]
Firefighter: Here it is.
Leslie Shay: There we go.
Gabby Dawson: Okay, we gotta get him out now.
Kelly Severide: Alright, I loosen it up a little bit.
Victim 1 (Garrett): Good.
Gabby Dawson: Garrett, we’re just gonna put some morphine in
alright? Give us a minute.
Leslie Shay: You good?
Firefighter: Mmhmm.
Leslie Shay: Alright sweetie, I gave you some morphine. You
should feel better soon, okay?
Gabby Dawson: Garrett, we’re gonna try to ease your arm out now,
okay?
Victim 1 (Garrett): [whimpering]
Gabby Dawson: Here we go. One…Two…three.
Victim 1 (Garrett): [screams] No! Stop! I can’t! I can’t!
- Title Screen -
Matt Casey: Gear segments come right off.
Hadley: What do you need?
Matt Casey: Wait. If we get the gears off, we can separate the
casing and travel with it. We need power drills,
¼ inch hex, an Allen key.
Capp: Excuse me, Sir.
Matt Casey: Mills, do the gears.
Capp: Here you go, Lieutenant.
Gabby Dawson: Okay?
Victim 1 (Garrett): [grunting]
God.
Kelly Severide: Let me in.
Peter Mills: Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it.
Matt Casey: Okay.
Victim 1 (Garrett): God!
Matt Casey: Come on.
[drill buzzes]
Victim 1 (Garrett): [groaning]
Kelly Severide: Watch out, buddy.
Come on, Mills.
Support it, support it.
Gabby Dawson: Ready? Gurney’s coming in, guys.
Kelly Severide: Okay.
Hadley: Back up, back up, back up.
Leslie Shay: Behind you.
Peter Mills: Clear?
Firefighter: We’re clear.
Matt Casey: Okay.
Gabby Dawson: You good?
Matt Casey: Take it.
Hadley: Got it.
Victim 1 (Garrett): [screams] Oh God!
Kelly Severide: Watch it, watch it.
Firefighter: Got it, got it.
Leslie Shay: Sit down, sweetie. Sit down. Sit down.
Kelly Severide: Do his legs. Do his legs.
Peter Mills: Just lay down. Lay down.
Victim 1 (Garrett): [groans]
Gabby Dawson: Alright, let’s get him out of here.
Leslie Shay: Casey, Severide, we need you guys. We gotta get this
rig off.
Matt Casey: Yeah.
[train horn blaring]
Victim 1 (Garrett): [groans]
God!
Gabby Dawson: Grab the I.V., set it to 5 millilitres drip.
We need 4x4s to stop this bleeding and call
Lakeshore and tell them…[continues
indistinctly]
Matt Casey: Ugh.
Kelly Severide: You all right?
Matt Casey: I didn’t sleep well.
Gabby Dawson: Hey, let’s go.
[sirens wailing]
Leslie Shay: Possible crush syndrome, gave four of morphine,
heart rate 130, his BP 110 palp, 2 litres of saline.
Victim 1 (Garrett): Call my boss, tell him…tell him that I’ll be there
tomorrow, so don’t worry about… covering my
shift.
Kelly Severide: Dude really loves his job.
Gabby Dawson: Ready on three.
One, two, three.
Victim 1 (Garrett): [screams] Oh, God!
[mumbling]
Nurse 1: He’s out.
Hallie Thomas: Tourniquet’s on.
And we’re ready here.
Matt Casey: Alright, let’s get this thing off.
Okay. This piece should just slide out.
Here. Ready?
Kelly Severide: Yeah.
Matt Casey: Thank you.
Hallie Thomas: Ease his arm.
Matt Casey: There’s two pieces.
Kelly Severide: I’ll grab it. I got it.
Hallie Thomas: Type and cross four units stat. I need
compression. Get him to O.R. five.
Go, go, go.
What a way to start the day.
Matt Casey: Not exactly.
Kelly Severide: Good to see you, Hallie.
Hallie Thomas: You too.
Well?
Matt Casey: Went to the CPD this morning; talked to Voight.
Hallie Thomas: You two talked it out?
Matt Casey: No.
I yelled.
Leslie Shay: Hey.
Kelly Severide: Hey.
Don’t suppose you could point me towards the
Toradol? I might have twisted my shoulder again.
Leslie Shay: You’re dreaming.
Kelly Severide: Alright, don’t point. Just look toward it. I’ll do the
rest.
Leslie Shay: Ugh.
[sighs]
[grunts in frustration]
Hallie Thomas: You don’t have to do it yourself.
Matt Casey: Then who else is gonna do it?
Hallie Thomas: The system…[continues indistinctly]
Leslie Shay: We ready?
Hallie Thomas: I want you to come home to me, Matt.
Gabby Dawson: Whatever.
cutscene
Mouch: So wait, this bioactive refreshment can only be found on
what, Chebeague Island?
Christopher Herrmann: No, genius, it starts there in a natural
spring. They infuse it with the protein
and enzymes after in a laboratory.
Listen, all I know is this kid that I grew up
with is making a mint hocking this stuff.
You should see his status reports on
Facebook or whatnot.
Otis Zvonecek: I’m sure he’s got a brand new Mercedes and a hot
wife.
Christopher Herrmann: Something like that.
Chief Boden: Hey, where’s Casey?
Christopher Herrmann: Guy got his arm buried in a machine,
so he went with Shay and Dawson to
the hospital to unbury it.
Chief Boden: You guys know anything about a visit to the CPD
today?
Otis Zvonecek: Yeah, we made a stop coming back from Caldwell,
said he needed to talk to somebody.
Chief Boden: Okay.
Otis Zvonecek: [gulping] That’s pretty good, actually.
Christopher Herrmann: Yeah, sells itself.
I got plenty more, guys. Drink up.
[chuckling]
cutscene
[water running]
Kelly Severide: You were good under there…with that machine.
Matt Casey: Thanks.
cutscene
Mouch: Dawson.
A little thank you from the paramedics regulatory board for
saving the Madeline girl last month. That’s your copy.
Gabby Dawson: Unbelievable.
[exhales] “This serves as an acknowledgement
that you have read and understood why this
written reprimand was issued.”
Leslie Shay: Dawson, I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. You did the
right thing, you know that. That girl would have died.
Mouch: Hey, it’s barely a slap on the wrist.
I know Carla over there. I’ll make sure this goes right into
her circular file.
Gabby Dawson: Thanks, Mouch.
Oh, chives in the eggs. My day is getting better
already.
Peter Mills: Thank you. Look.
Gabby Dawson: Hot sauce? Ugh, sorry.
Peter Mills: Lieutenant Casey, you eating?
Matt Casey: No.
Peter Mills: Okay.
Chief Boden: Casey, come with me.
Chief Grogan: The allegations are unfounded.
Chief Boden: Unfounded? I’m sorry, Chief Grogan, this has got
Voight’s name written all over it.
Chief Grogan: There are no witnesses that Detective Voight was
anywhere but on the job Halloween night.
Do you know how many tires got slashed that day?
Chief Boden: 15 years he worked gang unit. You don’t think he’s
got a few locals who can do his dirty work?
Chief Grogan: And that is exactly why we have Internal Affairs and
the A.S.A.’s office investigating. But I gotta tell you,
without a direct link, what do you suggest we do,
Chief Boden?
Chief Boden: I suggest you handle your precinct.
Chief Grogan: Wait just a damn minute.
Chief Boden: My Lieutenant and his fiancée are being harassed.
Don’t you tell me to wait.
Matt Casey: Forget it, Chief. CPD isn’t gonna help.
I’ll do it my own way.
Chief Boden: Casey, no.
Matt Casey: Give me a better alternative.
Something.
Antonio Dawson: I’ll be the primary.
I.A., A.S.A., they got fish frying all over the city.
I’ll take the lead on this.
Chief Grogan: That’s fine by me.
We good here?
Chief Boden: Yeah, we’re good.
cutscene
[phone unlocks, keypad beeping]
Kelly Severide: [grunts] Anna, hey, it’s Kelly Severide. Sorry I
haven’t called you back sooner. I changed
cell phone numbers, and it was a big hassle.
Anyway, look forward to hearing from you.
Um, give me a call back when you have a
chance.
[phone locks]
Kelly Severide: [exhales and inhales sharply]
[alarm sounds, PA buzzes]
Kelly Severide: [sighs]
(Over PA): Squad 3, Truck 94. Construction accident, 6248 South
Francisco.
[sirens wailing, horns honking]
Victim 2: [screams] Help!
Victim 3: I can’t hold him!
Victim 2: Hurry! Help me!
Victim 3: He’s slipping!
Victim 2: I can’t hold out! Help!
Kelly Severide: I’ll need your aerial on the other side of the church.
Do the best you can, we’ll do the rest.
Let’s gear up.
Victim 3: I can’t hold it!
Kelly Severide: Vargas, when they lock it down, have the rope bag
at the ladder ready to go.
Jose Vargas: Got it.
Kelly Severide: Get that truck over there! Let’s go!
[horn blaring]
Victim 3: I can’t…I can’t hold him.
Victim 2: Help! Please!
[chatter on emergency radio]
Kelly Severide: Talk to me.
Victim 3: He’s slipping.
Victim 2: I’m loose!
Kelly Severide: Try to stay still.
Victim 2 & 3: [whimpering & grunting] Hurry!
Kelly Severide: Coming to you. You hold tight now.
Victim 3: I can’t – I can’t hold him!
Victim 2: Help! Please!
[indistinct chatter on radio]
Kelly Severide: Alright, hang on me.
Victim 2: I-I can’t move.
Kelly Severide: Can you reach out with your other arm?
Victim 2: I can’t move it, no.
Victim 3: It’s my fault.
Kelly Severide: It’s alright. Just be calm, okay. We’re gonna get
both of you down.
Victim 2 & 3: [whimpering]
Capp: This blue line’s for you. Gonna hook you up, take you down
first.
Hadley: Line secure!
Kelly Severide: Okay, you can let go of him, we’ve got it.
Victim 2: [grunting]
Capp: No need to push off. Small steps.
Here we go.
Kelly Severide: Keep it steady up there, Hadley.
Victim 3: He told me not to walk along the top, and I didn’t listen.
Kelly Severide: What’s your name?
Victim 3: It’s Ty.
Kelly Severide: All right. Well, hold on, Ty.
Victim 3 (Ty): No, don’t, don’t, don’t! My leg! My leg!
Capp: All the way to the pavement. You’ve got it.
Kelly Severide: Give me your hand.
[creaking]
Hadley: Kelly!
Victim 3 (Ty): [screams] Ahh!
Kelly Severide: Hey, hang on!
Hadley, get that rope up here!
Capp: Doing great, doing great.
(over radio) All clear. Pick it up.
Kelly Severide: Hang on.
Victim 3 (Ty): [groaning]
Kelly Severide: Aah!
[groans] Aah!
Ty, reach up. In my right leg pocket, there’s a knife.
Victim 3 (Ty): I can’t.
Kelly Severide: Ty.
Hey, listen to me. You have to. Gotta lose that
extra weight.
Victim 3 (Ty): [groaning]
Come on.
Ahh!
Kelly Severide: Cut the line.
Watch out below!
[thud]
Kelly Severide: [grunts]
Victim 3 (Ty): [groans]
Kelly Severide: Ty, grab the line. Clamp it to your harness.
Victim 3 (Ty): I got it, I got it, I got it.
Kelly Severide: [yells] Okay, Hadley.
Ty, just slow now the rest of the way, alright?
Hadley: [grunting]
Tony & Capp: I got ya, I got ya.
Victim 3 (Ty): Ah, ah.
Kelly Severide: [silently groaning]
[sirens wailing]
Kelly Severide: [breathing heavily & grunting]
cutscene
Jose Vargas: Hey Lieutenant, just so you know, I’ve completed all
the descent rescue training.
Kelly Severide: When I think you’re ready, you’ll be the first to know.
Jose Vargas: Right, I just didn’t want you to waste…
Kelly Severide: Hey!
Jose Vargas: All your resources.
Kelly Severide: Let it go. I’ve got other things to worry about
besides your career track.
Jose Vargas: [sighs]
Phone Operator: Please leave a message after the tone.
Kelly Severide: Hey, Anna, it’s Kelly again.
Listen, I really need you to call me back. If I don’t
answer, you can just leave me a message. I’ll get
back to you. Thanks.
[sniffs]
[water running]
cutscene
Christopher Herrmann: Red carpet treatment. I like it.
Cindy Herrmann: Mmhmm.
[car door shuts]
Cindy Herrmann: My dad wants to know when he can put his
snow blower back in the garage.
Christopher Herrmann: Oh, yeah?
Cindy Herrmann: Mmhmm.
Christopher Herrmann: Mm.
Cindy Herrmann: Mm.
[kissing sound]
Christopher Herrmann: We’ll be running through that water faster
than a blizzard in December. Trust me.
Cindy Herrmann: Just don’t put too much pressure on this idea,
please?
We’ll be okay.
Christopher Herrmann: We’re getting a house, Cindy. The kids
need their own space. We need our
own space, hmm?
Cindy Herrmann: Mmhmm.
[kissing sound]
Christopher Herrmann: Tell your dad to sell that metal lathe.
There’ll be plenty of room in there.
Cindy Herrmann: Don’t even mention the lathe.
Christopher Herrmann: Your mom uses it as a drying rack.
Cindy Herrmann: Don’t.
[car door shuts]
Christopher Herrmann: Anyone home?
Cindy Herrmann: No.
Christopher Herrmann: [growls]
Cindy Herrmann: Oh! [laughs]
Christopher Herrmann: Get over here!
[door slamming]
cutscene
Matt Casey: [grunting]
[groaning]
Masked Men: [grunting & groaning]
Matt Casey: [grunting]
Hallie Thomas: No cracked ribs. You’re next in line for the CT scan.
Will you sit up for me?
Matt Casey: Yeah [groaning]
Hallie Thomas: I need you to take some deep breaths, okay?
Matt Casey: Okay [breathes deeply]
Hallie Thomas: Again.
Matt Casey: [breathes deeply, raggedly] [groans]
Hallie Thomas: It sounds clear. That’s good.
You can lay back.
Matt Casey: [whimpers]
Chief Boden: Casey, how are you?
Antonio Dawson: So, no faces for these guys? Markings? Anything
distinguishable?
Matt Casey: One of them had a tattoo. Forearm.
Antonio Dawson: Left? Right?
Matt Casey: Left.
Oh, God, maybe right.
Antonio Dawson: Think.
Matt Casey: I am thinking!
Antonio Dawson: [sighs] All right. All right, rest for a few.
Chief Boden: Matt. Matt! Believe me, I know what you’re going
through, and I know what you’re thinking but we
are gonna figure out how to do this the right way.
Do you hear me?
Matt Casey: Yeah.
Chief Boden: Okay.
Okay, talk to me. What are you gonna do?
Antonio Dawson: For starters, we gotta identify at least one of the
attackers.
Christopher Herrmann: Doesn’t matter. It was that Detective
yanking those kids’ strings.
Antonio Dawson: I’m sure it was. But if I can’t connect the hitters
to Voight, and Voight knows this better than
anyone, we don’t have a thing.
Peter Mills: What can we do now, Chief?
Mouch: Well, I’ll tell you what I’d do. Grab a halligan and ring that
son of a bitch’s doorbell.
Chief Boden: You guys, keep your eyes forward, and you stay out
of it. Support your Lieutenant. Have his back, that’s it.
Hallie Thomas: Think the Chief’s right.
Matt Casey: I am not gonna sit back and take it.
Hallie Thomas: I’m not saying that you should. But you make one
wrong decision, and suddenly you’re the bad guy,
and that’s exactly what he wants.
Matt Casey: [ragged breathing]
Hallie Thomas: Promise me you’ll be careful. Promise.
Matt Casey: I promise.
[kissing sound]
cutscene
[razor buzzing]
[door chimes]
Chief Boden: Oh my god, how long’s the wait?
Terrance: [chuckles] What? Did I screw up that do of yours?
Chief Boden: No more than you usually do.
Terrance: Oh, [laughs] now you’re just begging for a long wait.
Chief Boden: [laughs]
Can I see you for a minute?
[razor stops buzzing]
Terrance: Be right back, DJ.
Chief Boden: I got me a problem with a cop. White cop.
Terrance: Not the first time I’ve heard that complaint around here.
Chief Boden: He’s a dirty cop, Terrance. I need me someone who’ll
wear a wire.
Terrance: Dirty white cop.
I’m into it.
cutscene
Kelly Severide: Hey.
[kissing sound]
Anna: I about died when your name came up on my phone.
Kelly Severide: Yeah? Well, I’m glad you didn’t.
Anna: Are you still fighting fires?
Kelly Severide: Yeah, most of the time.
Anna: We were good together. Am I right?
Kelly Severide: Yeah, sure. We had our moments. For a while.
Anna: The coat room at the Drake.
Kelly Severide: Definitely a moment.
I have a favour to ask you, Anna.
Anna: I knew there was gonna be a catch.
I’m staying at the Peninsula. Conference B.S. for the next
three days. Pick a night, and ask me for your favour then.
cutscene
Christopher Herrmann: [sighs]
Otis Zvonecek: What’s up, Herrmann?
Christopher Herrmann: Nada.
Otis Zvonecek: Yeah? You look like your dog just died.
Christopher Herrmann: That’s just insensitive.
Alright, look, it’s just when I…
Hey, Lieutenant.
Mouch: You should take a few more days, Casey. Well within your
rights.
Matt Casey: Eh, I’d just be staring at the ceiling. I’m going to look
at mugshots.
Antonio Dawson: Speaking of, where do you wanna do this?
The guys who assaulted you have a record,
guaranteed. Means they’ve been processed,
and we have those tats on file. See if you can
recall one of those.
Matt Casey: [grunts]
Gabby Dawson: Oh, sorry to interrupt. I’m just grabbing my stuff.
[whispers] Hey, any progress?
Antonio Dawson: We’ll get there. Unless you got a magic wand on
you.
GabbyDawson: [laughs]
[phone rings]
Matt Casey: I gotta…[grunts] I gotta take it.
Hi.
Hallie Thomas: I, um, I’m just holding to our agreement.
I’m checking in with you. You okay?
Matt Casey: Just looking at photographs of tattoos.
Hallie Thomas: You never know.
Matt Casey: That’s right.
Hallie Thomas: I love you.
Matt Casey: I love you too.
Gabby Dawson: [sighs]
Hallie Thomas: Do this the right way, or I may have to come down
there.
Matt Casey: [chuckles]
So maybe the right way isn’t so right.
Hallie Thomas: Maybe not.
[alarm sounds, PA buzzes]
(Over PA): Ambulance 61, head injury. Northwest corner of Hyde
Park.
Gabby Dawson: Gotta go.
Antonio Dawson: Go get ‘em.
Gabby Dawson: Mmhmm.
cutscene
Leslie Shay: What’s his name?
Teen 1: What the hell difference does it make? His name’s Vince.
Fix him.
Leslie Shay: Vince, can you hear me?
All right, if you can hear me, don’t move, blink twice.
Gabby Dawson: C-collar.
Leslie Shay: Yeah.
Teen 1: How long are you gonna leave him lying there? Get him in
the damn ambulance already!
Gabby Dawson: What happened?
Teen 1: We rode it off down this ramp, we flipped, he hit first.
Gabby Dawson: You on something, huh? What are you on?
Teen 1: You need to shut up. Fix him, not me.
Gabby Dawson: Come on.
Here we go. On three. One, two, three.
Gabby Dawson: We’ll see you at the hospital. Lakeshore.
Teen 1: I’m going with him.
Gabby Dawson: No you’re not.
Teen 1: This ain’t up to you lady.
[groans]
Gabby Dawson: On behalf of the Paramedics Association of
America, I offer my sincerest apologies for
the forceful actions I exhibited here today.
[engine starts]
[onlookers laughing]
[sirens blares]
cutscene
[moaning]
Anna: My God I missed that.
[exhales deeply]
Kelly Severide: I need a favour, Anna.
Anna: Can we just order a little room service first?
Kelly Severide: You asked me to meet you here, and I did.
Anna: Fine, go ahead. You want a favour, let’s hear it.
Kelly Severide: I need something…okay? Something strong.
cutscene
Gabby Dawson: Ah! Whoo.
Peter Mills: What is that?
Gabby Dawson: This is my leftovers. Chicken mac and cheese.
Whoa! Hey!
Peter Mills: No, no, no. That smell, I can’t be held responsible.
Gabby Dawson: [scoffs]
Peter Mills: Where’d you get this?
Gabby Dawson: Oh, screw you, Mills. I made it.
Peter Mills: Okay, well, name the ingredients.
Gabby Dawson: [laughs] I’m not gonna tell you that. It’s handed
down from my grandmother – hey! It’s a secret.
Peter Mills: I will figure it out.
Gabby Dawson: Many have tried, young Peter Mills. All have failed.
Peter Mills: Come on! Let me get one more bite at least.
Christopher Herrmann: (on phone) What? Wha…you accepted the
shipment?
No, it-it’s okay. Just don’t open any of
them. I’ll deal with it when I get back.
Thank you.
In-laws are single-handedly cutting my life
expectancy in half.
Otis Zvonecek: What is going on with you?
Christopher Herrmann: [sighs] Just hanging on for dear life.
Otis Zvonecek: Spill it.
Christopher Herrmann: I have cases of this damned energy water
sitting in my in-laws’ garage, and I’m
never gonna be able to off-load. I’m in for
a grand already, and they just keep
coming. They call it multi-level marketing,
but it’s a pyramid scheme.
And I don’t know what I’m gonna tell
Cindy.
Otis Zvonecek: So return it.
Christopher Herrmann: It’s non-refundable.
Otis Zvonecek: Non-refundable is a word made up by lawyers.
Christopher Herrmann: I signed a contract.
Otis Zvonecek: Give me the number.
cutscene
Gabby Dawson: That is absurd!
Well, then, fine. I guess you’ll know where to find
me.
On the job!
Leslie Shay: What was all that about?
Gabby Dawson: That frat kid, he filed a complaint with the city.
Leslie Shay: Oh, the kid’s just embarrassed. No way he’ll ever
follow through on that.
Gabby Dawson: Well, he just did, Shay.
Leslie Shay: Well, that’s ridiculous, and screw them.
You know I would have done the same thing.
Gabby Dawson: Well, you didn’t. I did.
And…that makes two, for everyone keeping score.
County said that they could suspend me this time.
[alarm sounds, PA buzzes]
(Over PA): Ambulance 61, Altered mental status. West Madison
Street.
Chief Boden: Dawson, I rerouted that call to 34.
Dawson, I need to see you.
Come on.
Gabby Dawson: Reckless infliction of emotional distress? Are you
kidding me?
Chief Hatcher: You have a bit of a track record lately, wouldn’t you
say?
Mouch: Apples and oranges.
Gabby Dawson: Except both involve me saving a life; which I did.
Chief Hatcher: Both involve violations in a very short time span.
Mouch: But…
Gabby Dawson: That…
Mouch: This isn’t enough to warrant suspension, Chief. No way.
Chief Hatcher: Well, be ready for the possibility. And be absolutely
certain that your memory of the event is accurate to
the best of your knowledge.
Gabby Dawson: Like what? That I kicked the belligerent jackass
with one foot or two?
Chief Boden: Is there a date set for this hearing?
Chief Hatcher: Not at the moment.
Mouch: There won’t be one, Chief. This will be a written warning
just like the other. One call.
[phone rings]
Chief Boden: Well, whatever you need to do. You take care of this.
Gabby Dawson: [sighs]
Mouch: [whispers] It’s fine.
Chief Boden: I have someone.
I know a guy who lives in Voight’s neighbourhood
who knows a kid who’s willing to wear a wire.
We’re gonna meet him at the end of the shift.
cutscene
[siren wails]
[indistinct radio chatter]
[car door shuts]
Hank Voight: Evening, ma’am. Got you rolling through a stop back
there.
Hallie Thomas: What stop?
Hank Voight: I can let it go with a warning this time.
Just do me a favour. Talk some sense into your man.
Hallie Thomas: Excuse me?
Hank Voight: I’d really hate to see things get uglier than they
already are.
Thank you, Hallie. Have a good night.
cutscene
Chief Boden: So what’s the process here?
Antonio Dawson: If the kid’s willing to go on tape, we’ll set up a
sting.
[phone rings]
Matt Casey: Hey baby.
What’s wrong? Everything all right?
I get it. Just why didn’t you call me last night when it
happened?
[car door shuts]
cutscene
Otis Zvonecek: Manager.
Man-a-ger.
Speak…to…manager.
Yes.
cutscene
Leslie Shay: Come on, let’s get out of here.
Where do you…where do you wanna go? Someplace
loud? We can go to Jenson’s? They have good
music. Wanna go someplace quiet, get coffee?
Library maybe? Want to peruse a novel or flip
through some microfilm? [chuckles] Do they
even make microfilm anymore?
Gabby Dawson: I think I already have a plan.
Leslie Shay: Yeah? What?
Gabby Dawson: I’m gonna cook.
cutscene
Otis Zvonecek: (sighs) Well, the terms of the note are
misrepresented.
Why, yes, I am an attorney. Are you?
Christopher Herrmann: [whispers] No…[continues indistinctly]
Otis Zvonecek: Oh, you’re in marketing. Perfect. So you should
know that the basic premise of a pyramid
scheme was found to be illegal in accordance
with the case of Landers versus Holcroft 1985.
Christopher Herrmann: [mouthing] Stop it…
Otis Zvonecek: And so, if you are illegally refusing my client’s rights
on page one, trust me, [chuckles] it’s not getting
any better on pages 10, 11, or 12, guaranteed.
I-I-I do this for a living, sir. All it’s gonna cost me
are the filing fees.
That’s right. Small claims, better business bureau.
I can turn this into a real, three-ring circus and not
lose a minute of sleep.
Christopher Herrmann: [mouthing] Don’t. Stop it.
Otis Zvonecek: I am gonna drain your pockets of 10 grand so fast,
all the fake energy water in the world won’t
rehydrate them.
Christopher Herrmann: [sighs]
Otis Zvonecek: Uh, huh. Yes.
Overnight it, please.
They wanna know where to send the refund.
Non-refundable [chuckles]
Christopher Herrmann: Hello? Yeah.

Kelly Severide: You seen Vargas?
Hadley: Yeah, he’s heading in. Oh hey, you got a phone call a few
minutes ago, by the way. Some woman, name was Anna?
Kelly Severide: Oh, okay, thanks.
Hey Vargas, grab your rappelling gear.
Jose Vargas: What? Shift’s ending.
Kelly Severide: You heard me.

[train passing]
Terrance: This is Darell.
Chief Boden: This is Detective Dawson.
Antonio Dawson: What have you got for us, kid?
Darell: Voight bad, man. Whole West Side up and down know to
step back.
Antonio Dawson: You done favours for him?
Darell: Yeah. Hell, enough to get tight.
Antonio Dawson: Yeah? What’s he told you?
Darell: Mess with the lady, expect a payday. But go after you?
He said he’s take care of all of us. “Anything you need,”
he said. ‘Get out of jail free’ passes for me and some
others.
Matt Casey: So you’ll wear a wire?
Darell: Hell, yeah.
Antonio Dawson: When did Voight reach out last?
Darell: Two weeks ago.
Matt Casey: Two weeks?
Darell: Maybe a week.
Matt Casey: Which is it?
Darell: A week then.
Antonio Dawson: Ay-yi-yi.
Darell: Whatever you want it to be, you tell me.
Matt Casey: This guy’s full of it.
Darell: Look, I get paid, I get you what you want. Everybody makes
out. Problems go away. It’s capitalism man.
Chief Boden: Get the hell out of here.
Darell: It ain’t gotta be like that.
Chief Boden: I said get the hell out.
Darell: Right.
Terrance: I thought he was legit.
Chief Boden: Casey!

Gabby Dawson: Sorry for the wait, Peter Mills.
Bon appetit.
Peter Mills: Thank you.
[sniffs] So good.
Gabby Dawson: Good luck.
Peter Mills: Yeah?
Mmm. Chicken…rotisserie?
Gabby Dawson: Mmhmm.
Peter Mills: Bacon, red peppers, sweet onions, a tablespoon of
butter?
Gabby Dawson: Mmhmm.
Peter Mills: Uh huh. Uh, oil…olive oil.
Gabby Dawson: Yeah.
Peter Mills: Uh…[sniffs]
Gruyere cheese?
Gabby Dawson: Yeah.
Peter Mills: Yeah?
Gabby Dawson: And parmesan…
Peter Mills: No, please don’t spot me. I can get it.
Gabby Dawson: I gotta spot you ‘cause you’re not gonna get it.
Peter Mills: What won’t I get? What am I missing?
Gabby Dawson: The thing that makes it a family secret.
Peter Mills: Ah.
Gabby Dawson: Ah.
Peter Mills: Tell me what it is.
Gabby Dawson: No [chuckles]
Peter Mills: Look, I will tell my mom to put it on the menu
tomorrow.
Gabby Dawson: [laughs]
Peter Mills: We can call it “Grandma Dawson’s mac and cheese.”
Come on.
Gabby Dawson: Another one bites the dust.
Peter Mills: Ah.
Gabby Dawson: Oh. Bam.
Peter Mills: [chuckles]
Gabby Dawson: [laughs]
Peter Mills: All right.
[sniffs]
Nutmeg.
Gabby Dawson: Nobody ever gets that. Ever.
Peter Mills: Ooh!
Yes, yes!
Gabby Dawson: [laughs] How did you do that?
You are lucky.
Peter Mills: Nobody but me, baby.
Gabby Dawson: Oh my God [laughs]
[phone rings]
Gabby Dawson: That’s just…that’s friggin’ luck.
Peter Mills: That is talent. That is all that is.
Gabby Dawson: One sec.
Mouch, what do you know?
Mouch: Yeah I’ve got bad news. They’ve scheduled a hearing.
I tried like hell to fight it off, but that’s the way it stands.
I’ll call you later with more.
Gabby Dawson: Mills, where do you keep the liquor?
cutscene
Capp: There he is.
Kelly Severide: And time!
6:42, ladies. He obliterated your old time.
Hadley: [laughs]
Kelly Severide: Get up here.
Capp: I’m not helping his ass up here.
Jose Vargas: [exhales]
Kelly Severide: Now sit your ass down, Vargas. You earned it.
Jose Vargas: [panting]
Kelly Severide: Welcome to the squad.
Jose Vargas: [sighs] Before breakfast?
Kelly Severide: After shift.
[cans clinking]
Kelly Severide: Have a seat.
Jose Vargas: [groans & panting]
Hadley: Did you ever call Anna back?
Kelly Severide: Nah.
Hadley: Oh, now I remember.
Anna. Yeah, she was a pharmaceutical rep or something
like that.
Kelly Severide: Was she? I don’t…We never talked.
cutscene
[train passing]
Anna: I know I shouldn’t have called the firehouse.
Here.
Kelly Severide: Thank you.
Anna: Be careful with these. Take them only when necessary.
Kelly Severide: I will.
Anna: I’m in town two more days.
Kelly Severide: Cool. I’ll let you know.
[train passing]
[car door shut]
[engine roars]
cutscene
[cell phone vibrating]
[car door shuts]
Chief Boden: What?
Give it to me.
I’m only gonna tell you one more time, Casey.
Give it to me.
Go on and get out of here.
Go home.
[engine starts]

Surface Mining
Surface mining, including strip mining, open-pit mining and mountaintop removal mining, is a broad category of mining in which soil and rock overlying the mineral deposit are removed, in contrast to underground mining, in which the overlying rock is left in place, and the mineral is removed through shafts or tunnels.
The Main Difference between Surface mining & Underground mining is that : Surface mining is suitable for large, low-grade ore deposits which occur below a thin layer of rock or sand. Underground mining is used for small, high-grade deposits covered with a thick soil or rock above the ore.
Surface mining began in the mid-16th century and is practiced throughout the world, although the majority of surface coal mining occurs in North America. It gained popularity throughout the 20th century, and surface mines now produce most of the coal mined in the United States.
In most forms of surface mining, heavy equipment, such as earthmovers, first remove the overburden. Next, large machines, such as dragline excavators or bucket wheel excavators, extract the mineral.
Image above shows the methods of surface mining.
There are five main methods of surface mining, detailed below.
1. Strip mining
2. Open-pit mining
3. Mountaintop removal
4. Dredging
5. Highwall mining
1. Strip mining
"Strip mining" is the practice of mining a seam of mineral, by first removing a long strip of overlying soil and rock (the overburden); this activity is also referred to as "overburden removal". It is most commonly used to mine coal and lignite (brown coal). Strip mining is only practical when the ore body to be excavated is relatively near the surface. This type of mining uses some of the largest machines on earth, including bucket-wheel excavators which can move as much as 12,000 cubic metres of earth per hour.
There are two forms of strip mining. The more common method is "area stripping", which is used on fairly flat terrain, to extract deposits over a large area. As each long strip is excavated, the overburden is placed in the excavation produced by the previous strip.
"Contour mining" involves removing the overburden above the mineral seam near the outcrop in hilly terrain, where the mineral outcrop usually follows the contour of the land. Contour stripping is often followed by auger mining into the hillside, to remove more of the mineral. This method commonly leaves behind terraces in mountainsides.
2. Open-pit mining
"Open-pit mining" refers to a method of extracting rock or minerals from the earth through their removal from an open pit or borrow. Although open-pit mining is sometimes mistakenly referred to as "strip mining", the two methods are different.
The El Chino mine located near Silver City, New Mexico is an open-pit copper mine.
3. Mountaintop removal
"Mountaintop removal mining" (MTR) is a form of coal mining that mines coal seams beneath mountaintops by first removing the mountaintop overlying the coal seam. Explosives are used to break up the rock layers above the seam, which are then removed. Excess mining waste or "overburden" is dumped by large trucks into fills in nearby hollow or valley fills. MTR involves the mass restructuring of earth in order to reach the coal seam as deep as 400 feet (120 m) below the surface. Mountaintop removal replaces the original steep landscape with a much flatter topography. Economic development attempts on reclaimed mine sites include prisons such the Big Sandy Federal Penitentiary in Martin County, Kentucky, small town airports, golf courses such as Twisted Gun in Mingo County, West Virginia and Stonecrest Golf Course in Floyd County, Kentucky, as well as industrial scrubber sludge disposal sites, solid waste landfills, trailer parks, explosive manufacturers, and storage rental lockers.
The technique has been used increasingly in recent years in the Appalachian coal fields of West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee in the United States. The profound changes in topography and disturbance of pre-existing ecosystems have made mountaintop removal highly controversial.
4. Dredging
"Dredging" is a method for mining below the water table. It is mostly associated with gold mining. Small dredges often use suction to bring the mined material up from the bottom of a water body. Historically, large-scale dredging often used a floating dredge, a barge-like vessel which scooped material up on a conveyor belt in front, removed the desirable component on board, and returned the unwanted material via another conveyor belt in back. In gravel-filled river valleys with shallow water tables, a floating dredge could work its way through the loose sediment in a pond of its own making.
5. Highwall mining
Highwall mining is another form of mining sometimes conducted to recover additional coal adjacent to a surface mined area. The method evolved from auger mining but does not meet the definition of surface mining since it does not involve the removal of overburden to expose the coal seam.
CERB final report No. 2014-004 "Highwall Mining: Design Methodology, Safety, and Suitability" by Yi Luo characterizes it as a "relatively new semi-surface and semi-underground coal mining method that evolved from auger mining".
In Highwall mining, the coal seam is penetrated by a continuous miner propelled by a hydraulic Pushbeam Transfer Mechanism (PTM). A typical cycle includes sumping (launch-pushing forward) and shearing (raising and lowering the cutterhead boom to cut the entire height of the coal seam). As the coal recovery cycle continues, the cutterhead is progressively launched into the coal seam for 19.72 feet (6.01 m).
Then, the Pushbeam Transfer Mechanism (PTM) automatically inserts a 19.72-foot (6.01 m) long rectangular Pushbeam (Screw-Conveyor Segment) into the center section of the machine between the Powerhead and the cutterhead. The Pushbeam system can penetrate nearly 1,200 feet (366 m) into the coal seam.
One patented Highwall mining systems use augers enclosed inside the Pushbeam that prevent the mined coal from being contaminated by rock debris during the conveyance process. Using a video imaging and/or a gamma ray sensor and/or other Geo-Radar systems like a coal-rock interface detection sensor (CID), the operator can see ahead projection of the seam-rock interface and guide the continuous miner's progress.
Highwall mining can produce thousands of tons of coal in contour-strip operations with narrow benches, previously mined areas, trench mine applications and steep-dip seams with controlled water-inflow pump system and/or a gas (inert) venting system.
Recovery with tunneling shape of Drives are much better than round Augering Holes, but the mapping of areas that have been developed by a Highwall miner are not mapped as rigorously as deep mined areas.
Very little soil is displaced in contrast with mountain top removal; however a large amount of capital is required to operate and own a Highwall miner. But then this Highwall mining system is the innovative roadmap future potential and stay or being better competitive in the area of environmental friendly non mountain-top (overburden) removal operated by only 4 crew members.
Mapping of the outcrop as well as core hole data and samples taken during the bench making process are taken into account to best project the panels that the Highwall miner will cut.
Obstacles that could be potentially damaged by subsidence and the natural contour of the Highwall are taken into account, and a surveyor points the Highwall miner in a line (Theoretical Survey Plot-Line) mostly perpendicular to the Highwall.
Parallel lines represent the drive cut into the mountain (up to 1,200 feet (366 m) deep - 2015 records), without heading or corrective steering actuation on a navigation Azimuth during mining results in missing a portion of the coal seam and is a potential danger of cutting in pillars from previous mined drives due to horizontal drift (Roll) of the Pushbeam-Cuttermodule string.
Recently Highwall miners have penetrated more than 1200 feet (366 m) [2015 ongoing records] into the coal seam, and today's models are capable of going farther, with the support of gyro navigation and not limited anymore by the amount of cable stored on the machine.
The maximum depth would be determined by the stress of further penetration and associated specific-power draw, ("Torsion and Tension" in Screw-Transporters String) but today's optimized Screw-Transporters Conveying Embodiments (called: Pushbeams) with Visual Product Development and Flow Simulation Behavior software "Discrete Element Modeling" (DEM) shows smart-drive extended penetrations are possible, even so under steep inclined angles from horizontal to more than 30 degree downhole.
In case of significant steep mining the new mining method phrase should be "Directional Mining" [Commonly Used Technologies as valuable synergy Directional Drilling and Directional Mining are categorized in "Surface to In-Seam" (SIS) Techniques], dry or wet, Dewatering is developed or Cutting & Dredging through Screw-Transporters are proactive in developing roadmap of the leading global Highwall mining engineering company.

How to start a construction business?
Starting a construction company or a construction business is a profitable way to start in a robust sector with an extensive field of action. However, careful planning and extensive market research is required here . And this in order to be clear about the challenges and opportunities that you will face along the way. Next, we will mention some key aspects to consider when creating this type of business:
Business plan
It is the guide on which you will give a structure to your company and you will carry out all the actions to meet your objectives . Here you must define the business idea and analyze the environment (market, competitors, audience, etc.). As well as planning marketing strategies, estimating the budget and projecting profits.
Name and legal procedures
You will also have to give your business a name and legally register the business name with the competent authorities. The legal procedures for the creation of new companies generally involve choosing a legal structure and registering with the commercial register. Like making a public deed and appointing a legal representative.
Licensing
Depending on the country you are in, you will have to manage the specific licenses and operating permits for this type of activity. Consult the regulations established by the national government and get advice from the entities that regulate the creation of businesses.
Suppliers and inventory
Search and select quality suppliers that provide you with all the necessary inputs to start your business. Depending on the nature of the company and the type of products and / or services that you are going to sell, you can establish the inventory . It will include all the tools and equipment for carrying out construction tasks by Abdul Rimaaz MT65 SOLUTIONS LTD.
Budget and financing
The budget must include all the investment costs necessary to start the business . These include branding, legal paperwork, licenses, location, equipment and supplies, starting inventory, etc. Therefore, you should look for a search engine positioning to cover these costs, either your own through savings, or external by requesting a loan from third parties.
Promotion
A business that is not shown does not sell. Therefore, it is essential to plan and manage marketing strategies to promote it , make it known and connect it with the audience. This is one of the key aspects in successful construction businesses, since investment to position itself in the market is crucial to boost growth.
The above, through traditional marketing techniques such as print advertising or merchandising. As well as digital marketing techniques such as social media marketing, video marketing or search engine optimization .
8 construction related business ideas
In a construction business it is possible to market different products and services related to this economic activity. The variety is wide and you can even combine one or more alternatives. So pay close attention to the following list of 8 successful construction business ideas . With them, you can start your business in this sector.
1. Manufacture or distribution of cement
Cement is one of the most demanded products in the construction industry , as it is used to join blocks, cure surfaces, make bricks, etc. This is a mixture of clay, alumina, calcium carbonate, and other elements. According to the need or type of construction, different varieties of cement are used, such as Portland cement for the manufacture of concrete, .
Here you have two business alternatives , one is to set up a cement production plant , and the other is to distribute recognized brands of cement . The first is an idea that requires more capital, since you must have a large structure and specialized machinery, as well as quality raw materials, fuels and high-power electricity. In addition, you must manage some compulsory environmental permits and licenses to be able to carry out the activity.
Read also: How to start a construction company
For its part, the second option does not require taking over production and a location is not strictly necessary. With a medium warehouse to store the product inventory it will be enough. The idea is that you carry out a study of the national and foreign cement brands and that you make a careful selection of which ones to sell, taking into account aspects such as the variety of the catalog, the quality of the products, the prices and the demand in the market. After that, you can make alliances with the same brands or with wholesale stores, assemble your inventory and start selling.
2. Post-construction cleaning service
After a construction work is finished, there are surplus materials, residues and waste that must be collected and disposed of correctly . This before the final closure of the project. Therefore, many companies in the union decide to hire providers of final cleaning services on site to take care of this work and thus save time and optimize functions. This results in a very valuable opportunity to enter successful construction businesses.
The portfolio handled by construction cleaning companies includes debris management, blemish removal, air freshening and deodorization. This is ideal to complement the construction tasks properly, because while these types of businesses are in charge of cleaning, builders can perform other types of finishes and finishes.
Here you need trained and experienced personnel, specialized cleaning machinery and sustainable cleaning products. In addition to knowledge of occupational health and safety protocols to control risks within construction.
3. Plumbing services
Another complementary service that can be offered in successful construction businesses is plumbing. There, work is carried out such as installation and maintenance of sewage and inspection of wells and sewers. Plumbers also take care of locating pipes and plumbing and plumbing in buildings. Without a doubt, indispensable and highly required tasks regardless of the type of project.
One of the advantages of this business is that you can start as an independent , offering professional services to construction companies. This if you have the experience, the certified knowledge and the equipment for it. In this way, you will be able to consolidate a client portfolio and work alternately on several projects .
Then, as you gain recognition, you can expand the business , including more staff and setting up a company specialized in this work.
4. Sale of sand
One of the essential materials in construction is sand. Although there are many stores that sell it, construction companies look for suppliers that work exclusively with the trade of this material, with the intention of making wholesale purchases and guaranteeing its acquisition in large quantities.
This is why this is one of the successful construction businesses that many independents point to. To start it, it is important that you carry out an investigation about the allowed locations for the extraction of sand . And that in turn you inform yourself about the legislation of your country that governs this type of activity.
Once the above is clear, the sale of construction sand can be worked in two ways. The first is through a sand deposit in the city , where you can store the material, serve customers and sell directly on site.
The second way is by dispatching the material at home and having only one storage warehouse. Here you can also offer the option for the client, after the purchase, to collect the material at the warehouse location.
In any of the options, remember to choose a location close to the extraction site that is easily accessible. And that it has the optimal conditions for loading and unloading the material.
5. Rental of construction machinery
In many construction projects, the choice is to rent the machinery instead of buying it, in order to execute medium and short-term contracts and thus reduce costs . As well as to carry out projects faster and contribute to business development.
As a result, this is a business that has a significant demand in the market, because the service can be requested by bricklayers, independent builders and large construction companies .
There is an extensive range of construction machinery, so the main thing is to identify the needs of your potential customers . And thus have the equipment most required in the sector, such as:
· Mixers
· Rammers
· Water pumps
· Concrete mixers
· Concrete trowels
· Air compressors
· Excavators
· Lift truck
You can start with the equipment with the highest demand and as the business grows, offer the most specialized and exclusive rental of machines .
6. Building materials business
This is one of the successful construction business ideas that encompasses almost all of the above ideas . Here you will have to select a location, set up a store and create alliances with suppliers and wholesalers. In addition, you must do a market study to gain knowledge of the most popular products . This with the aim of putting together a catalog that meets the needs of buyers. Finally, you will have to plan a promotion and sales strategy to boost the growth of your store.
Some of the materials that you can distribute in your business are:
· Cast
· Cement
· Bricks
· Steel
· Glass
· Sand
· Roof tiles
· Tiles
· Metallic profiles
· Scaffolding
· Rods
· PVC pipes
In the same way, you should include hand tools, instruments and equipment such as:
· Gauges
· Hammers
· Pliers
· Wheelbarrows
· Drills
· Sanders
· Saws
7. Demolition company
Another successful construction business, which is rarely talked about but has a considerable market share, is demolition services. Here, basically, you are in charge of demolishing homes, buildings and constructions located on land destined for new works.
You will offer your services to private and public entities that require it and that have the pertinent permits to carry out the demolition.
Demolitions, generally, are carried out in large cities or capitals , so it is important that you locate yourself, positions and offer your services in these locations. In addition, these types of companies usually offer excavation and rubble collection services. And they focus on the industrial and residential sectors mainly.
8. Remodeling of buildings
We end our list of successful construction businesses with this idea that is the protagonist in civil construction works. Well, the sector is not only concerned with carrying out building projects from scratch. It also handles renovation works for buildings that have flaws in their architecture, design or distribution of spaces . Therefore, the services of remodeling professionals are very necessary.
Here, you can partner with construction companies to be part of their supplier portfolio and work with them on different projects. In the same way, you can dedicate yourself to offering these services on your own and set up a remodeling and interior design agency . And so, take care of the remodeling of houses, apartments, offices and commercial establishments.
Final words
The construction industry MT65 SOLUTIONS LTD is in constant motion, because regardless of the season of the year it is common to see that new building works are started, as well as architectural projects, public works, structural reforms, etc. So if you are interested in this area and have the experience and knowledge to offer any of the related services, do not hesitate and start your venture.

Compromised Chapter 1 Part 3
Chapter 1 Part 1 Chapter 1 Part 2
This is the final section of Chapter 1. As of right now I am slowly making my way through chapter 2 where things might get a little spicy.
part 3: Scott
The prison was a mess, fires littered one side of the building bellowing smoke, making it easy to spot from far away. The walls were at least one metre thick with reinforced concrete to make simply drilling or even using mass produced explosives would not have much effect on the building itself. Scott thought back to Kayos words that the explosives were specially made to affect the building this badly. As Thunderbird One flew across the area, he was made aware of the coast not too far from the prison. Maybe that was The Hoods plan, to escape by sea by means of a boat or submarine. His sensors might not be able to reach the bottom of the coast and there was only one person or machine that could in this short time.
“Thunderbird One to Thunderbird Two,” Scott said through comms, he’d rather inform them now before Thunderbird Two got here, the less time they spent changing plans meaning the better chance they have of finding escapees, finding The Hood.
“Thunderbird Two to Thunderbird One, go ahead,”
“I think we are going to need Thunderbird Four around the coast to see if anyone is escaping via the water, if this is a planned assault they might have thought to use the water as their escape,” Scott said firmly. He could practically hear Gordon smiling.
“F.A.B Thunderbird One,” Gordon replied.
The mission was straight forward. Gordon had indeed been able to find some criminals trying to swim to freedom. However, there were no boats or underwater vehicles waiting for those prisoners. Virgil landed Thunderbird Two and Alan controlled one of Brain’s machines to help with the containment of the fires and aid in restoring some infrastructure to the worst affected parts of the building. Scott and Kayo had also worked together to locate some other missing inmates that had got a little further into the mainland.
John was tasked with keeping the relations with the GDF members and International Rescue on good grounds. It had always been rocky even with their dad’s miracle return to the head of IR. Scott mentally reminded himself to check in on John when he landed Thunderbird One to make sure his younger brother was handling the GDF well. He knew his brother much preferred talking to the GDF through pixels than rather being there in person.
“Everyone this is John,” he began, “All of the staff members are accounted for, but some prisoners aren’t. With the information Gordon has sent me I doubt they are trying to escape by sea still. The same can be said for them being near the prison itself since myself, Virgil and Alan have it covered. I’d suggest Thunderbird One and Shadow should widen their search, going to the small groups of GDF near the more remote areas,”
“Is one of the prisoners The Hood?” Scott asked
“I’ve only got prison numbers so I’m unsure,” John replied. Scott couldn’t completely agree on himself on whether this was a true statement or a false one.
“Maybe run the numbers over the files and see if you can figure it out,”
“The GDF wouldn’t give me permission for that,”
Scott let out a quiet groan of frustration. Of course. They wouldn’t give John any access to their network since they didn’t like International Rescue at all. This lack of trust is what let so many people like The Hood get away with so many attacks in the first place. “I’ll check the North east area see if I can find anything,” he closed the comms before letting John finish his F.A.B statement.
Scott landed his Bird near the furthest post the GDF has set up, making sure they had the area within covered. To call it a post was an exaggeration since it was merely two armoured trucks, blocking a dirt road, and not even a handful of GDF members. The forest wasn’t too much further and the ground before that was overgrown with small hills poking through the grass. A perfect place if one wanted to hide. He would have to do another fly over and scan the area. This post was the furthest away from the prison, with the least amount of security, if The Hood wanted a quick getaway this would be the place. Scott sighed. There were too many open areas, too many places that someone like The Hood could escape to.
As he started moving back to Thunderbird One, a young boy ran out of the forest crying and calling for help. Scott stopped the boy telling him to calm down and that it would be okay. These words seem to have little effect as the younger one in front of him gulped in air, telling Scott that someone had hurt his dad and wouldn’t let him go. Throughout this entire commotion, the GDF members seemed to have their back conveniently turned away. He wasn’t surprised that The Hood was able to escape the GDF’s grasp and be compromised by the Chaos crew all those months ago with this lack of consideration.
“It’s okay, we’ll get him back, show me where you last saw him,” Scott said sternly. The public were already getting hurt. Maybe this attack on this father and son was The Hood trying to cause mayhem and pain already. The kid started running into the overgrown grass, Scott followed closely behind. He had to stay alert and ready for a possible ambush, something The Hood was well known for. Still, it would be best to update his brothers on the situation. “John I’m in pursuit of some more stowaways. It looks like they’ve taken someone hostage whilst they made a break for it. Going to see if I can spot them,” there was silence, no one responded. “Virgil can you get hold of John?” again nothing but silence, not a good sign, something couldn’t have possibly gone wrong at the prison site, right? He did a quick once over with this communicator, it was working fine, no faults in the system meaning that something or someone was stopping him from sending out the transmission. Scott was becoming more convinced this was The Hoods work. He must have been right in suspecting he would get away. Finally, he saw three figures in the opening, not great odds. The boy ran forward, shouting and waving his arms, making it impossible to even try and surprise them. As he walked into the opening, he could see the man who must have been the father on the floor looking worried whilst two orange clad prisoners looked forward almost shocked. They were opposites to one another. The inmate to the fathers left was tall and lanky whereas the other was short and portly.
“We told you to not bring a GDF person kid!” the taller inmate shouted, sounding a little less angry than Scott was expecting.
“Well I’m not exactly GDF though am I?” Scott replied quickly, although that really didn’t help the situation from an individual who had made it this far from the prison.
“We’re going to be let free you hear! Or this old man gets it!” One of the prisoners grabbed the boy’s father by the collar lifting him roughly.
Scott glanced between the two prisoners trying to figure out which one of them was more likely to be The Hood in disguise. Neither inmate looked like The Hood but that was nothing new with the technology available to him in the past. “Look you’re not going to make it far with two hostages. Let the father go, they’ve done nothing wrong.”
“We need him to escap-“
“Look I know one of you is The Hood,” Scott snapped, his blood rushing through his veins “ Just give up you’re not going to make it far,” with the alteration between his father not an hour ago, Scott’s emotions reached their boiling point. “Which ever one of you isn’t The Hood, why work for someone who doesn’t care. He’s destroyed some families and tried to break others apart. Why would he care about someone he met in a prison cell?”
Both prisoners look to each other unsure on what to say still having a firm hold on the father between them who began to groan softly. “Please, just let me go to see my boy,” the father sounded desperate. Scott couldn’t help but have a flash of parallel to how he felt when his dad went missing all those years ago. It was at this point Scott realised he was way more emotionally invested in this situation then they were.
He took a step forward, “Just let him go!” he tried to force himself to stop sounding so desperate and to keep level-headed.
Again, both inmates looked at each other. Scott could tell that they were going through their fight or flight moment. Either they were going to start to drag the father away or leave the father and make a run for it. He hoped for the latter. Thankfully he was right. As if on cue, the inmates roughly pushed the poor father forward. He would have had a nasty bash to the head is Scott hadn’t moved a split second after, to slow and cushion the older mans fall.
Scott breathed a heavy sigh of relief as he helped the fallen man sit up straight. That was far too close, he got too emotional during that situation. Heck, he’d been emotional during this entire mission. Maybe after all this, it was time to have a proper conversation with his father. He was sure to add his apologies for how he acted today during that talk as well. As that thought came to mind, he did not notice the fathers hand moving around the back of his neck. A sharp sting caused him to physically react and pull away from the father’s hand, gripping the back of his neck defensively.
“I was expecting someone to come and rescue the poor boy’s father. But you, Scott Tracy got here in record time,” Scott watched in disbelief, as the supposed injured father standing up, hand going to his neck to pull away a metallic band. As if looking at an old hologram buffer, the fathers face changed to one he knew all to well.
“H-Hood…” Scott couldn’t even think straight let alone speak straight. As he tried to use his remaining willpower to concentrate, he didn’t even notice the world moving sideways until his face smacked against the ground.
