# : bad boy!doyoung (but he's really just tsundere) x gn reader, ft. best friend!Jaehyuk
[💌: since hello era... doyoung and junghwan be hitting differently like THESE BOYS ARE ALL GROWN MY BBYS :( also anon i hope u like this one i'm sorry its so late T_T and on Haruto day?? not me posting a Dobby fic on Haruto day hehe HAPPY RUTO DAY]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's no bad boy that makes you as weak in the knees as Doyoung. you have the fattest crush on him but no one will ever know. not even him. well, no one except for your best friend, Jaehyuk.
you keep your eyes straight ahead as Doyoung loudly enters the classroom, slamming the door accidentally (?) behind him and loudly pulling out his chair in the back to sit down.
you watch Jaehyuk wriggle his eyebrows as you from two rows ahead. then, you steal a glance back at Doyoung. he's leaning back in his head, facing the ceiling, revealing his attractive neck--
okay, seriously. you've gotta stop. how can a neck be attractive? well, his can.
you gulp as you face the front, trying to focus on the lesson. but... the teacher doesn't show up. so, as always, the kids start causing a ruckus. Doyoung keeps his head down in the back and you sigh as you sift through your homework, trying to find something non-violent to do.
just as Jaehyuk approaches you to have a conversation, he gets pushed aside by one of your class's rude idiots. he falls to the ground.
"y/n, is that the homework? can i borrow it?" they ask, leaning way too close.
"fuck off," you mutter, annoyed.
"huh? did you say something?" they ask, leaning even closer.
you sigh, trying to decide if you should fight back or just give them your homework--when you hear the legs of a chair scraping against the floor from behind you.
"just piss off! leave them alone," Doyoung yells at the rude idiot. "if you care about homework that bad, why don't you actually do it, hm?"
"yeah, he's right," Jaehyuk pipes up, finally getting up from the floor.
"and what if i don't leave them alone?" they challenge Doyoung, who makes some kind of quiet snarling sound before he bounds over to you.
"fuck. off," he says, shoving the person with each word.
they fall backwards onto a desk and Jaehyuk cheers.
your heart is racing, both because of the adrenaline the situation is making you feel, and because Doyoung is so... damn attractive while he's shutting these idiots down. his jaw is clenched and the outline of it is sharp. his lips glisten under the ceiling lights from when he licked them moments ago, trying to hold back his anger.
Doyoung turns to you, his ears red and his hands in his pockets. his dress shirt uniform is unbuttoned, revealing a black shirt underneath.
he doesn't say anything, just scans your face with slightly furrowed brows before walking to his spot in the back. once he's gone, you let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding. then, you race to Jaehyuk, making sure he's okay.
"i'm fine! are you, though? your knight in shining armour totally just saved you--" Jaehyuk starts, wiggling his eyebrows.
"shut up!" you whine, slapping his arm.
you can't help but smile, though. as you look back to glance at Doyoung, you watch his head immediately jerk away from you.. as if his eyes had been on you before you looked at him.
you shrug it off as the teacher finally walks in.
-
Doyoung watches you for the entire lesson. he's never paid much attention to you until today, when those idiots were harassing you. usually, he doesn't get involved in class drama. but for some reason, he got so angry this time. he wonders why. he needs to know why.
the whole day you feel someone's eyes on you. every time you turn around, you see nothing. there's always so many students everywhere, so you don't pay it much mind. that is, until you notice something.
Doyoung is always there, in your line of vision, when you turn around to see if someone is watching you... but it's probably just a coincidence. it isn't until he joins you and Jaehyuk at the cafeteria to eat that you think maybe it wasn't a coincidence.
you're both stuffing your faces with food when he smoothly slides his tray in next to yours, sitting down and poking at his food.
"can we help you?" Jaehyuk asks, seeing how you're too stunned to speak.
"no. keep eating," Doyoung says somewhat coldly.
he watches you from the corners of his eyes.
"well, anyways, i think it's so dumb that we all have to do an outdoor activity this weekend and write a story about it. that's what little kids get assigned to do!" Jaehyuk complains, ignoring Doyoung.
"whyyy? i think it sounds so fun and cute! we could go on a picnic and both write about it--"
"i'm coming, too," Doyoung blurts out. he's shocked by his own words.
"why would you come?" Jaehyuk questions, maintaining (or trying to) a friendly tone.
"because... i don't know what else to do for the project either," Doyoung grumbles.
you stare at his lips, stained with the strawbery milk he just took a sip of.
"stop drooling, y/n," Jaehyuk says.
"shut up!" you screech, slapping your friend.
Doyoung chuckles and catches himself in the act. why was he so amused by you? he's never cared about a single living soul at this school before.
-
all three of you show up to the park with hands full of goodies... except, Doyoung's 'goodies' are just his skateboard... that's it.
Jaehyuk shakes his head, sighing as he lays down the blanket and one side of it folds in because of the wind. you're too busy staring at Doyoung as he sets his skateboard down to notice your own friend struggling.
"hello? a little help here?" Jaehyuk whines, but you still can't hear him.
the wind blowing through Doyoung's hair and rustling his clothes makes him look incredibly attractive. your knees feel weak and you decide to help Jaehyuk to distract yourself.
before you know it, you're being stopped by Doyoung himself.
"no, let me," he says in a deep voice, taking over and helping Jaehyuk with the blanket.
eventually, everything is set up and the three of you are sat surrounded by snacks and your notebooks.
"well.. we can't just write that all we did was sit here and eat. what should we do?" Jaehyuk points out.
"how about a game?" you ask excitedly.
you peek at Doyoung to see his reaction, but he's staring off into space. you pout and Jaehyuk notices.
"hey, Doyoung! what do you think?" Jaehyuk asks.
"yeah, sure. if y/n wants to, let's do it."
you feel butterflies within you as you grin as Doyoung.
"how about truth or dare?! Jaehyuk first! truth or dare?" you say.
"truth!"
"boring," you and Doyoung say at the same time. you both look at each other and you watch the boy's lips curve slightly upwards.
"i pick truth. now ask me something."
"have you ever liked y/n?" Doyoung asks, lazily.
your heart races at the question, even though you already know the answer.
"i did before, actually. i confessed but.. it didn't work out.
"how long ago was that?" Doyoung asks, brows furrowed.
"Doyoung, your turn! it's one question only," you say.
he presses his lips together before choosing 'dare'.
"i dare you to eat all those strawberries in one minute," Jaehyuk says.
you slap his arm, telling him that's too much, but Doyoung goes for it. you watch as his cheeks fill with the red berries, his face puffy as he chews. he starts laughing when you both laugh at how funny he looks, and he isn't able to eat them all because he laughs so hard he has to spit everything out!
"y/n, your turn," Doyoung says softly.
"mmm.. okay what will my truth be and what will my dare be?" you ask.
"dare is you kiss Doyoung and truth is do you like Doyoung," Jaehyuk asks.
your jaw drops and Doyoung smirks, amused.
"you--"
"pick!" Jaehyuk urges.
you sigh and choose dare, thinking that'll be the safer option.
Doyoung's face is slightly red as you turn to him.
"kiss! kiss! kiss!" Jaehyuk chants like a kid.
"shut up!" you say before turning to Doyoung, gently cupping and squeezing his cheeks so his lips are puffy, and pressing your own lips to his.
the kiss is soft, his lips are plump and his mouth tastes like strawberries. as if instictually, Doyoung's arm wraps around your waist, but Jaehyuk's giggles make you pull away.
"well, won't i have quite the situation to write about!"
"shut up, Jae," you say, nervously.
you still feel butterflies and you can feel Doyoung looking at you. every time you look at him, he looks away.
a few moments later, Jaehyuk gets up in search of a washroom. you and Doyoung are left on your own.
"i'm sorry if you didn't want to do that kiss--" you start.
"no. i wanted to," Doyoung replies sweetly.
"oh?"
"did you want to?"
"yes," you reply.
"do you want to do it again?" he asks while leaning back his weight rested on his arms.
"y-yeah."
and that's how Doyoung kisses you so hard that you fall onto the picnic blanket, Doyoung's arm also catching you as you fall. you place a hand to his chest to keep yourself grounded as butterflies rage inside you, but feeling his heartbeat makes you melt even more.
"hey, i leave for one second and come back to this?!" Jaehyuk says in disgust.
quickly, the two of you pull away.
Doyoung's face is red and he clears his throat.
"well... to avoid this from getting awkward, i say we end the picnic here," Jaehyuk announces.
after cleaning up everything, Doyoung pulls you aside to ask if you want to hang out with just him some time.
"i like you, y/n. something about you just keeps drawing me to you," he says, caressing your cheek.
"i-i-yes.. let's meet! this weekend! wait, it is the weekend... maybe some time this week after school?"
Doyoung laughs, a rare sight. "sure. let's meet after school."
you and Jaehyuk walk home together and the whole time he's teasing you, but you couldn't be happier.

Just a Little Longer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings: choi hyunsuk × gn!reader
warnings: mentions of alcohol, mentions of weed and vapes, swearing, cussing, kind of cliché, suggestive (a lot of kissing and/or making out and touching.) lmk if i missed anything. minors dni!
word count: 2.17k
"everybody make some noise!!!" the host of the party turns up the music, blasting it so loud that the neighbors could hear. it would only be minutes before they start complaining about the disruptive noise.
you on the other hand have been doing your own thing for an hour or so. talking to friends, dancing, sipping on cup of alcohol that barely even got you buzzed but you're okay with that. ever since you got settled in, the mixture of the weed and vapes are making your stomach hurt and your friend can tell you're uneasy. the smell is a little too strong for your liking so your friend grabs your hand.
"here, let me take you upstairs." they walk you up the stairs and take you to the back room.
you walk in and turn on the light, making your way to a chair to sit on.
"make sure to not close the door all the way. it's jammed from the inside, but if you get stuck, call me." your friend says as they leave the door cracked before leaving.
a few minutes in the room and your feeling a little better, deciding to go back to the party and find your friend. as you walk closer to the door, you get startled as a random guy runs into the room and slams the door shut. the man is hyperventilating as he brushes the hairs back that's fallen in his face.
he finally looks up to meet your eyes. the only facial expression that he could read from you was distraught. he was confused until you opened your mouth.
"why did you close the door? the handle is jammed on this side!" you yell at the guy in frustration.
"shit. i'm sorry, i forgot! there was some drunk that wouldn't get off me and i just hid somewhere!" he panics. you walk towards the door and bang on it as hard as you could.
the boy kept tugging on the handle trying to see if he could break open the door but it was no use. you two were stuck in a random person's room at a party your friend dragged you to.
you tried calling your friend but there were no bars on your phone. the boy with you didn't have his phone on him, claimed to have misplaced it. a few minutes pass by and you came to terms with being stuck in a room with a stranger for who knows how long.
right now, you're playing with a small rubber ball on on the bed while the stranger is making random beats across from you on a sofa. you hear him vibing and humming softly, therefore you pause your actions and observe him. but that doesn't last for long until he feels your eyes on him.
"...am i bothering you?" he asks, stopping to look at you. you were so spaced out looking at him, you didn't even realize he was talking to you.
"huh? i'm sorry, what did you say?"
"is my humming bothering you? i'll stop if it's too loud." he responds.
"no, it's not. i was just distracted." you start playing with the ball again. the guy spoke up again.
"what's your name?" he asks.
"y/n. you?"
"hyunsuk."
"well i'm sorry we had to meet this way, hyunsuk. stuck in a room with somebody you don't even know." you sigh, pressing the back of your head against the bed frame.
"i actually find it kind of peaceful. i'm always around a bunch of people anyway."
"really?" you raise an eyebrow. "wow, i guess i read you wrong."
"i'm assuming you read me based off how i look?" he questions and you nod your head.
"what did you even think about me?" he smiles.
"i had a feeling that you were more outgoing and on the extroverted side. you seem friendly and according to the last 5 minutes of me being stuck in here, you're also a music lover. you also have a good sense of fashion but that’s just a bonus."
hyunsuk was surprised by your observation. "at least you didn't describe me as an asshole." he laughs. his voice seems more welcoming now that you're engaging a conversation with him. you chuckle at his response as you huddle your body up in the bed.
"but honestly, you did pretty good. you weren't too far off." he compliments.
"yeah i know." you smile. "i just picked up your vibe and went with it."
while he's talking to you, he finds your smile nice to look at.
"how about we keep talking to pass the time? maybe it'll fly by faster." hyunsuk suggests. you nod and ask him and start off with a non surprising question. "what's your favorite music to listen to?"
the boy looks up and taps his chin. "hmm that's a good question." he takes a couple seconds to think. "i would say i like most genres but hip hop is my favorite."
"interesting." you sat up and fixed your posture. you tell him your favorite music as well, he says that you have good taste which causes you to smile. hyunsuk likes seeing your smile, so he tries to make you smile as much as he can.
"okay, next question. what are your hobbies?" he found you intriguing. you answer him and tell him all the things you like to do and end it with that you like sleeping a lot. he laughs at the last part of your reply.
"that's kinda funny because i don't sleep as much as the average person." you raise your eyebrows and ask him why he doesn't sleep that much.
"well, music is everywhere around me. i write and compose songs, i dance, make my own music, and i love it so much that i wish there was more time in one day so i can keep going."
"you're actually saying 24 hours isn't enough time in the day?" a shocking look appears on your face.
"crazy, right?" he smiles and looks down.
"maybe a little, but it just means you're determined and love what you do. you found what to do with your life and you make it happen." you rest your hand under your chin and look into his eyes. he mummers a thank you and shies away from you.
you slowly start finding interest in him and found it quite fascinating how he found out what to do with his life already. his winsome personality makes you want to talk to him even more.
"have you ever traveled?" you continue on.
"yes, actually."
"where? everywhere?" you say sarcastically.
"somewhat." he chuckles. "i've lost count. i just recently came back from japan, though."
your eyes broaden. "wow you've been to japan? i've always wanted to go. i heard it's so beautiful."
"beautiful is an understatement." he walks over to sit beside you and you didn't mind. as he sat by you, you smelled his scent as it hits your nose, reminding you of strawberries as you smile to yourself.
"you should definitely visit sometime." he nudges your shoulder, your smile beamed once more.
you kept talking to hyunsuk for a while as the time passes by. you don't know if you've been talking to him for 30 minutes or an hour but the way he made your heart slightly skip as he flashed a smile or grazed your leg with his knee — whether it was on purpose or on accident — you wanted it to keep going. you were kind of into the conversation and small banter you two were having.
then all of the sudden, you hear muffled sounds from the other side. you raise up quickly and make hyunsuk slightly jump.
"wait, do you hear that?" you turn your head and walk to the door. you put your ear up against the door. hyunsuk follows your lead and put his against the door as well.
"there are people close by. we can finally get out!" you quietly shout toward him. "wait!" before you bang on the door, hyunsuk grabs your fist. you look at him in confusion, wondering why he would stop you from getting someone to open the door.
"actually, can we stay in here for just a few more minutes?" he looks into your eyes with such infatuation. you furrow your eyebrows at him.
"i just really really like talking to you..."
"...maybe we can stay in here for a little longer?" his hinting was vague, but sly enough for you to figure out what he meant.
you don't hesitate and lean closer to his face, grazing the bottom of his lip with yours.
he can already tell you're a tease as he smiles while your lips just barely touch his. he can't help but wait any longer. he pulls you into him as your lips connect for the first time.
the rush of adrenaline you have comes out of nowhere and takes over. you take him back to the bed and lay him down. you hover over him and press your lips on him again. the kiss had butterflies floating in your stomach. hyunsuk wrapped his hands around your waist and licked the bottom of your lip and slowly bit it, asking for more.
you slightly smirk and give back the same energy. his hands slide up your waist, pulling you in closer as you tug on his shirt. you part ways for a few seconds so he can give you the green light. he nods and you proceed to take off his shirt. then you target his neck, gently kissing and nipping at his skin as he responds with a sigh and tightening his hands around you.
you don't think you have ever felt this way. the idea of you and him alone has you feeling driven, and you know it's not the alcohol because it's not even in your system anymore.
you kiss back up to his lips and a "please" escapes him. you take his hand and slowly drag it down your body until he touches the hem of your shirt. he helps you pull your shirt off quickly and throw it to the side. hyunsuk feels you up and down gradually as he kisses down your neck.
you make your way to his jeans and grab them until you hear the door open.
"y/n? are you still in here- wow." your friend came in and walked in on you and the shirtless man. hyunsuk's face is flushed all over while you were relieved and let out the breath you were holding onto.
"thank god it's only you, you scared the hell out of me." you press your hand on your heart.
"i see you got a little busy? sorry to ruin it but my mom is telling me i've got an appointment tomorrow morning so we gotta go." they flash a fake smile. "i'll let you say your...goodbyes." they leave the door cracked.
you turn back around to see hyunsuk putting his shirt back on. you internally pout and almost fail to recognize the redness covering his face. but then you let out a chuckle and grab his face. "are you blushing because of what happened before or after my friend caught us?"
"stop it." he smiles looking away nervously. he sees your shirt and holds it in front of you. "you're probably gonna need this."
"haha very funny." you both laugh as you stand up and put on your shirt and hyunsuk follows.
"well tonight was fun." you smirk, playing with his shirt that was once discarded from him.
"oh really? which part?" he bites his lips and he looks at yours. "all of it." you respond, giving him one last kiss before you go.
"just making sure it wasn't when you first yelled at me."
"what, did i scare you?" you ask. "no."
you raise an eyebrow. "maybe.." he mumbles. you laugh and grab a pen from beside you and write your phone number on his arm before heading out of the room.
"text me." you say as you leave and your friend rushes you down the stairs eye boggling you until you two reach a quieter place.
"hyunsuk? choi hyunsuk? you lucky bitch!" they yell. you laugh at their surprised, yet impressed expression upon their face.
"what about him?"
"what about him?! he's hot!" your friend lightly shoved your shoulder. "yeah, i guess he's nice on the eyes." you shrug.
"both of your shirts were off and now all you're saying is that he's nice on the eyes?'" they quote.
you admit he's really pretty and really nice to talk to. a whole different vibe from anyone you ever met, but you decided to keep that from your friend so you wouldn't get your hopes up.
"do you know anything about him..that i should know?" you ask, scratching your head trying to come off as nonchalant as possible.
your friend scoffs at you. "i knew it, i knew you liked him."

treasure’s reaction to your henna design ! — hyung line
Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre; fluff, a little comedy || warnings; kisses, SMALL FONT !!, some teasing, they’re all really cheesy || wc; 1.7k
Tumblr media
wanting to touch the ink - jihoon
it was early into the evening when you had finished intricately decorating your left arm with flowers and miniature patterns. the ink extended until your fingertips, where the chocolate coloured henna contrasted the supple skin of your palm. calling out for your boyfriend, jihoon, to see the gorgeous pattern which was slowly staining your skin. he'd seen your henna designs many times, though you'd never quite done such an intricate design. in truth, it had taken you most of your morning to etch the ink onto your shoulder and down to your forearm, with added difficulty when trying to duplicate each pattern onto all of your fingertips. once he emerged from the doorway, he saw your figure, basked in the golden sunlight that filtered through the window of the small room, and the way in which the delicate henna glistened across your skin told him that it hadn't quite finished drying. he extended his forearm, in a manner that expressed he meant to reach out for your still-drying shoulder. you quickly shuffled away from his hold, extending your right hand toward him with your palm facing outward. "hold it right there, hoon." you continued despite the pout that now adorned his features, "you know as well as i do that you're not allowed near me until this dries." his pout deepened in response, if you weren't dead set on keeping him away from you, you'd have probably broke out in laughter at his almost comical expression. "don't you remember what happened last time you were near me while my henna was drying? 'cuz i do. and it sure as hell wasn't pleasant." crossing his arms in front of his chest, he stared at you with contempt, "hey, that was one time! i'm responsible, y'know." his brows furrowed and his eyes slanted in mock indignation. he stepped closer to your frame, grabbing your right hand and clasping his fingers around yours before raising it above your head, taking a step back until your waist was trapped against the windowsill. you seemed ethereal against the golden light, your skin seemingly kissed by each ray of sunlight. he planted a brief kiss on your lips before diving back in for another, his right hand coming up to your frame out of instinct, where he accidentally brushed against the wet ink. his thumb smearing the corner of one of the beautifully crafted flowers at the top of your shoulder. he pulled away from the kiss at the contact, grimace adorning his face at the slight smudge against your skin. your eyes still shut, you tilted your head down, "jihoon, if you just did what i think you did, you have five seconds to run." "but wouldn't that just smudge it more?" "jihoon!"
hugging you // asking you how you did it - hyunsuk
"hyunsuk! c'mere!" you shouted from the bedroom that the both of you shared. you were basked in a pale moonlight, the open window in the back corner of the room sporting a full view of the waning moon. your skin seemingly glowing, showcasing the newly drawn henna along your palm. the ink-stained towel that you'd used to clean up the edges of your design now lay discarded atop your desk with the rest of your henna ink and pens. the clutter only adding to the mess that was your workspace. small ceramic bowls decorated the edges, filled with paperclips, bottle caps, thumbtacks, and other small doodads you'd kept or deemed useful. "hyunsuk!" you shouted once more, hoping for his sake that he wasn't ignoring you. just as you were about to storm out of your room to find him, a sleepy looking hyunsuk appeared in your doorway, causing you to immediately put your henna-clad hand behind your back. suffering from a bad case of bed-head, hyunsuk leaned his palm against the frame of the door to balance himself as he fought off his urge to sleep. lidded eyes looking up at you from the downwardly tilted position of his head, muttering something near unintelligible. "what? 'sukkie, you look like you just died and came back." in truth, you loved how he looked when he was tired. the weary look in his eyes and his slow blinking matched the small pout he unconsciously sported. drowsily making his way through the bedroom and over to you, hyunsuk nearly bumped into your desk. taking a look at the discarded rag, he'd realized that's why you'd called him over. before he could ask, you confirmed the suspicion by revealing your hand and palm to him. "oh, it's beautiful. just like you." shifting his gaze from the intricate art on your hand, “you should show me how you do that.” he looked into your eyes and blindly moved his hand to hold your waist. "you're a dork," you scoffed, tucking a strand of hyunsuk's hair behind his ear as he leaned his head against your shoulder, "hm… but i’m your dork." you noticed hyunsuk's breathing slow and his head get heavier against you as you smiled at the slumped-over dork. maybe he was a bit of a mess, but he was your mess and that was all that mattered to you. “i love you, you dork.”
you find them doing research on henna - yoshi
it was nearly two in the morning when you stumbled over a sleeping yoshinori. he'd fallen asleep at his desk as he so often did when he got overly excited about researching one topic or the other. his computer light illuminated the wisps of his hair as you cautiously stepped toward the sleeping boy, you noticed his notebook had clean, perfect handwriting which transformed into scribbled-down notes and later into indecipherable shapes on lined paper. skimming over the notes as best you could without disturbing the boy whose face was pressed against the reams of the notebook cover. when yoshi tried to learn something, he certainly gave it his all. you knew that already. though, most often he would share what he was learning with you since you'd always loved the way his eyes lit up when he talked about something he was excited about, this was not one of those times. he'd kept his research to himself and his journal. as you looked over his scribbled notes, you realized he was researching henna. you weren’t aware yoshi had any interest in it, but his notes were thorough, thought out, and he even included little scribbles of flowers. one of the drawn designs looked oddly similar. looking down at your henna covered arm, you immediately recognized the flower patterns you had raved about to him. it’d taken you a while to perfect them, and you were quite proud of the design you’d crafted. and so, you were more than excited to show yoshinori. carefully, you pulled a woven acrylic blanket over a shivering yoshi. he stirred slightly, looking confused as he rose from his hunched over position at his desk. “hm?” you giggled to yourself, watching his eyebrows furrow. “nothing, love. come to bed and get some proper rest, yeah?” he shuffled, rubbing his eyes and stretching before going rigid and closing his notebook, as if he’d been caught in the act of something illegal. “i, hm. i didn’t mean to fall asleep.” you decided he looked too cute to not tease; “who would mean to fall asleep when doing all that research? must’ve been interesting.” you smiled as he looked up at you, “it was.” “what did you research?” you asked as you grabbed his arm, coaxing him toward your shared room. “henna. mmh, i wanted to learn about henna for you.” he muttered, one hand over his eye in an effort to lazily wake himself up. “for me?” you inquired. “mhm,” yoshi prodded at the henna drawn on your arm, “it’s pretty, you’re pretty.”
taking photos - junkyu
you were sat at a table overlooking your backyard, where your boyfriend kneeled, taking photos of the flowery hedges which formed a lush border around the carpet of grass that was slightly overdue for a trim. there, you dragged the pen which held your henna ink along your skin, etching spirals along the blank canvas that was your thighs. you'd been lucky, the weather was finally at a bearable temperature for you to wear shorts, though not warm enough for you to feel burdened outside in the sunlight. the hem of your shorts was pulled up to your waist in an attempt to not stain the worn polyester. as you carefully dragged the cold liquid across your skin, a glare of light silhouetted your actions, shortly followed by a faint shuttering. once you'd turned your head to look for the reason which your vision had been overcome with a bright light, you were met - face to face - with the culprit, camera in-hand. junkyu, softly smiling at you from behind the dark frame of the lens. "sorry," he timidly muttered, hand coming up to the back of his neck in what you presumed was embarrassment, "you just looked too beautiful." to say you were speechless at his brazen compliment would be an understatement. your mouth agape, you stared at the soft-spoken boy in front of you. pen still in hand, you froze. your pinky slightly extended outwards from the overhand grip you currently had on your henna pen and your wrist tilted awkwardly above the unfinished texture so as to not let the dark liquid smudge nor come into contact with the blank flesh of your arm. "i looked too... what?" "beautiful." your mouth now clamped shut, lips forming a straight line as you stared into his chestnut eyes. still slightly embarrassed, his lips tugged upward in a shy smile. quickly grasping the black, boxed camera, the black strap which connected each side of the old fashioned camera moved from its formerly stagnant position around his neck, junkyu once again positioned the camera to face you. thumb resting on the underside of the lens, supporting the weight of the camera whilst his index finger hovered above a hard, recently-used button. click. the familiar, harsh shutter was heard again as a sudden bang of light crept upon your vision, the vivid light staining your surroundings for a moment before dying down. "sorry, just... had to capture that expression."

Finals. The one thing about school that everyone around the world became stressed about.
Walking through the almost empty streets, you sighed, your gaze trailing over the abandoned shops and pathways as you silently cursed yourself. What made you decide to stay up to binge your favorite show?
Well, you did know, it was the one, the only, Mr. Choi Hyunwook. His skater boy vibe in the show was just too cute to resist. But you could have waited an evening to revel in the show and his beauty. But alas, there was nothing you could do now, but suffer sleepily through the day. But then, your tired eyes came to rest on a small wooden sign, pointing you to a small coffee shop named the ‘Teume Cafe’. The outside was nothing special, it resembled pretty much every cafe you'd ever been to: a brick building with tinted windows and a black streetlight with warm, muted lighting.
There was something so inviting about it that made you wonder: should you stop? You hadn’t had coffee in a long time, and it could really help you get through the day. And so, here you are, opening the door to the place.
“Hi! Welcome in!” A cheery voice called through the building. Your eyes moved through the empty shop (save for a lone shadowy figure hunched over an ipad) and came to a young man leaning his arms on the counter. Besides his cute voice, he was a relatively small person, with wavy caramel brown hair and marigold highlights. His eyes- even though you were a respectable distance from him- sparkled through the dimly lit cafe. “Today’s special is a Strawberry Creme scone, do you want to try that?” He asked as you got closer.
“I’m not sure, does it pair well with a mocha?” You named your favorite caffeinated drink. Or- what you remember as your favorite. It’d been a little over two years since you’d had it, instead opting for a black tea or hot chocolate.
“Uh- not really, no. I’d probably go with a Chocolate Chip muffin.” He reached for a decadent, moist-looking muffin, then stopped, silently asking if that's what you wanted.
“I’d like to try it, then, please.” You gave him as much of a smile as you could muster, and he smiled back at you, but his was a full force smile that seemed to emit a rainbow of colors.
“And you want a mocha with that right?”
“Yes, thank you.” You nod at him.
“I’ve never seen you in here before.” He commented, starting to work on your mocha.
“I’ve never been here, but it seems nice.” You reply, taking a closer look at the cozy looking decor, the bookshelf filled with a variety of titles, and a record player beside it.
“Yeah!” He began pouring the coffee into a to-go cup. “We recently remodeled, Yedamie said that it wasn’t trendy enough.” He gave a slight shake of his head and a small laugh. At your confused face, he added, “Yedam also works here. He’s the creepy looking shadow, there in the corner.”
You both turn to look at him, and you notice the shadowy figure is no longer in the shadows due to the rising sun, and he’s taken the shape of a handsome boy around your age who’s blocking out the world through his headphones.
“Your order is ready,” the barista says, and you move to pay him, taking out some cash, when you notice something odd.
“What's the-” you move closer to the plaque by the cash register. “-Cafe Prince award?”
“Oh.” he gives an awkward laugh, “It’s awarded to the best looking barista.” He grimaces as you look at the award again.
“So, you’re Haruto Wantabe?” you ask, reading the name inscribed on it.
“Uh. no, I’m Mashiho, Haruto works here too.” His smile is back in full force, teeth and all, and you wonder why, when you’ve mistaken him for someone else. And then you realize. You just inadvertently called him good looking.
Coughing slightly, you give him an awkward good-bye and take the coffee and muffin. You really need to get out more.
To be honest though, you don't exactly regret calling him handsome because, well, he is. And his pure smile he gave you made it all worth it. But now you just had more questions.
Who was this Haruto guy? If Mashiho was so kind, was Yedam that nice too? Would the coffee he gave you somehow make you better looking?
I mean, probably not, but one could hope with all the good-lookingness that was brewed in the cafe daily. But right now, you need to focus on finals, because you'd already suffered enough from thinking and drooling over handsome guys for one span of 24 hours. (ahem, Choi Hyunwook)

don't fall for the homeboy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: jihoon x afab!reader
prologue: jihoon was sure he wasn’t the type to catch feelings for his friend, but what happens when he is suddenly struck by the reality?
genre: fluff + friends to lovers
wordcount: 750
warnings: none
Tumblr media
"Ding Dong!” your doorbell greeted you.
You went to answer, thinking who could it be at this hour? Certainly not your parents, who just left ten minutes ago.
“Hey, Y/N! Your mom sent me to look after you, now step aside and let me in.” It was Jihoon, your childhood friend.
Together, him and you went through everything. Including from being conceived and born around the same time to going to school. He became an inseparable part of your life.
It was not like you did not want Jihoon around.
You had been seeing him since you were born. You bitched about the people you hated together and were each other’s emotional support.
Many assumed the two of you were dating, but that was not the case.
By now, Jihoon had already seated himself in your living room. Of course, your mother did not assign him the babysitting, but he was her favourite anyway, naturally, he was like a family member.
“Stop standing like a sims character over there, and yes, don’t end up creating any more trouble,” Jihoon tried you boss you around.
“Park Jihoon, I am old enough. And you are just thirty-seven days older than me, for your weekly reminder.” You were quick to defend yourself.
“The last time you were allowed to be home alone, you let a stray cat enter the house and scrape away your mom’s favourite curtains.” Of course, he could not let you win this.
“Alright, Mr. Babysitter,” you surrendered.
“That’s my good girl. I need you to behave well for me now.” Jihoon blurted out without realizing what he had just said.
This habit had caused him trouble in the past. Luckily, this time, it was just you. Taking advantage of the situation, you decided to tease him further.
“Woah! Is this the beginning of a porn movie? What should we name it? Babysitter takes care of his little girl home alone?” followed by your roar of laughter.
To you there was no greater joy than seeing his agitated and irritated face.
"You’ve got such a filthy brain, where do you learn these things from?” Jihoon admonished you playfully as a shade of pink now adorned his cheeks.
A movie watching date was soon planned.
The lead couple was just slowly falling in love, offering cheesy compliments to each other and making unrealistic promises.
Best friends falling in love was a crummy genre for sure.
“Ahh, why do they always romanticize it?" The boy spoke.
"Who on earth falls for their friend like this?" He spoke again.
"Aghh, this is just ridiculous. Y/N how about we better watch-” Jihoon had started his timely rants again.
You were so used to it by know. He ranted about everything from overcooked meat to missed buses. Sometimes you really pondered what he was made up of.
“Men named Park Jihoon do. They do fall”. You answered his unasked question.
His mouth hung open, as if you had stolen his lunch money.
The jaw dropped. You wished you could capture this face to tease him about it later.
Despite his refusal to acknowledge it, Jihoon had some feelings for you. Well, you certainly did. He was decently attractive nd coming to think of it, who else could you even date?
"Stop reading those romance novels of yours." He did not even finish his sentence, but you had another response ready, yet again.
“Hoon, admit it.”
Jihoon shook his head at that statement. “No way, I could kiss you right now to prove I don’t feel anything about you.”
His eyes met with yours next and you nodded, granting him the permission.
Jihoon leaped closer.
Tucking your hair to the back of your ear, lifting your chin to meet his face. His hands were shaking. His nervousness was unprecedented.
Pitying your poor friend, you took matters in your hands and smashed your lips onto his.
He immediately responded back. Holding you by the waist now. His and your lips moved in a perfect sync, as though they were meant to be.
This felt like euphoria to you. You held his muscular arms for a better grip. It seemed as if you had been hungry for this since forever.
After what seemed like a good few minutes, you pulled out.
Jihoon’s gaze changed.
He wanted more, and so did you. Quickly after catching your breath, your lips retuned to where they were need the most.
Men named Park Jihoon did, after all, fall for their best friend.

whitebeard and the blackbeard's son | p.jw
Tumblr media
pairing: park jeongwoo x reader (f)
word count: 8.3k
genre: angst, adventure, slowburn.
warnings: violence, death, toxic relationships, mention of kidnapping.
synopsis: jeongwoo embarked on a quest to prove himself to his father, blackbeard, by attempting to kill his nemesis, whitebeard. however, he was unaware that whitebeard's true identity would completely alter his path.
author's note: after two years since my last update, i'm back! i wrote this fanfiction some months ago and decided to post it now since the reboot is coming (i'm so excited!). i think of this as a origin story for pirate jeongwoo hehe. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did!
author's inspirations: show - our flag means death (max). song - i bet on losing dogs (mitski)
Tumblr media
Jeongwoo had finally accomplished it. After years of meticulous research, tracking ships in secret, studying combat skills, habits, and victims, he had gathered almost all the information he needed to defeat Whitebeard, one of the most notorious pirates of the sea. This was his chance to avenge his father and prove himself once and for all.
As the son of Blackbeard, the infamous pirate, Jeongwoo had grown up in a world of ruthlessness and violence. Blackbeard had collected countless enemies and was feared by even the most dangerous pirates. However, when a new pirate named Whitebeard emerged in the Caribbean, he became Blackbeard's worst enemy, taunting him with his name. Determined to confront the newcomer, Blackbeard engaged in a battle at sea.
During the fight, Blackbeard's crew seemed to have the upper hand, but Whitebeard's intelligence and strategic prowess turned the tide. They damaged Blackbeard's ship, disabled his strongest crew members, including Blackbeard himself, and plundered all the treasure. Whitebeard, however, never showed his face or set foot on their ship, maintaining a mysterious identity. Many believed he suffered from a terrible disease that prevented him from engaging in direct combat. Now, Jeongwoo was about to uncover the truth.
Under the guise of trading treasure on a nearby island, Jeongwoo secretly planned his move. He knew that Whitebeard's crew frequently replenished their supplies on a small island to the east. After carefully avoiding attention and hiding in the island's woods for several days, he spotted a large ship docking on the beach. Observing from a distance, he became certain that it was Whitebeard's ship.
Waiting for most of the crew to disembark, Jeongwoo infiltrated the ship, incapacitating anyone who stood in his way. He intended to execute a silent assassination, killing the captain and escaping and leaving behind a letter signed by himself. Jeongwoo was confident that Whitebeard, who never left his room, would be there. However, as he cautiously opened the door, he discovered an empty room, devoid of any presence.
"Where could he be hiding?" Jeongwoo whispered to himself, feeling a mix of relief and unease. This was the moment he had prepared for all his life, yet something felt off.
He scanned the room, filled with disarray—clothes, medicine, and books scattered around. A large world map adorned one wall, while a plush bed covered in fabrics and blankets dominated the center. Suddenly, he noticed a slight movement coming from beneath the blankets—a rhythmic rise and fall. There was no doubt about it; Whitebeard was concealed there.
Jeongwoo steadied his weapon, standing before the bed, prepared to end the man's life. However, a strange feeling compelled him to see the face of his father's greatest adversary before delivering the fatal blow. With trembling hands, he slowly pulled back the blanket, but the sight that greeted him was unexpected.
Instead of Whitebeard, he found a young woman with white hair, dressed in a beige satin dress with long sleeves. The boy was momentarily paralyzed by the sight before him. This innocent girl had been mistaken for the fearsome pirate captain.
"A girl?" he murmured to himself, unintentionally waking you from your slumber. Your eyes opened slowly, leaving him with no chance to hide within the cabin.
"Hello," you greeted, your voice filled with sleepiness.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Jeongwoo asked, his voice filled with surprise, unable to comprehend the calmness in your demeanor despite the danger you were in.
"You seem nervous." you remarked, observing his reaction. “My name is Y/N.”
"I came here for Whitebeard." Jeongwoo stated, trying to make sense of the situation.
A faint smile graced your lips. "Well, then you found him. I'm Whitebeard."
Jeongwoo's heart pounded in his chest as he processed the unexpected revelation before him. The girl with white hair, Y/N, claimed to be Whitebeard—the very person he had intended to kill. The tremor in his hands intensified, betraying his nervousness. He took a step back, struggling to comprehend the truth. It seemed inconceivable that someone so young could hold the title of a feared pirate captain when he himself struggled to gain respect among his own crew.
"You're lying! Where is Whitebeard?" Jeongwoo demanded, unable to accept the reality unfolding before him.
Your laughter filled the cabin, carrying a hint of amusement. "I'm not the lying kind. The truth is, my name was originally intended to be Whitehair, but people misheard it as 'beard' and I went along with it. I must say, I'm quite surprised you managed to reach here without facing punishment from my crew. You must be a formidable pirate."
Jeongwoo's confusion deepened even more, his conviction wavered. He found himself unable to act upon his murderous intent as he looked upon the spirited girl who awaited her fate.
"I don't understand," Jeongwoo stammered, his disbelief evident. His grip on the knife loosened, his hands dropping to his sides. The confusion within him battled against the impulse to carry out his revenge.
Chuckling lightly, you settled onto the bed, examining the young man before you. "I can see why you're surprised. Most people react the same way, especially new crew members. By the way, that's a good choice of weapon you have there. Sharp and effective for breaking bones. Luckily for me, I've been feeling like dying these past few days. So, what are you waiting for?" you asked, your gaze fixed upon him.
"I... I can't do it. You're a woman," Jeongwoo confessed, his voice laced with uncertainty.
A glimmer of curiosity danced in your eyes. "You've never killed a woman before?"
In fact, Jeongwoo had never killed anyone before, regardless of their gender.
From a young age, Blackbeard had trained Jeongwoo to embody his strength and eventually succeed him as captain. However, the weight of taking a life was a burden Jeongwoo couldn't bear. Fear gripped him, rendering him unable to follow in his father's ruthless footsteps. Consequently, Blackbeard became increasingly ashamed of his own son, distancing Jeongwoo from perilous battles and treacherous islands, effectively dismissing any notion of him becoming his successor. The once-promising young pirate had been reduced to a mere kitchen assistant.
The very reason he was driven to prove himself, came from his father's relentless pursuit of molding him into a fearsome assassin of the seas.
The absence of a response made it clear to you that he wasn't a killer. Despite your preference for staying in your room, you had a knack for understanding people through their behavior due to all the books you’ve read. The boy, who was around your age, appeared scared and confused. It had been a long time since you last talked to someone young. It made you question if this was how you were expected to behave. Should you also be afraid of life and death just like him? You wondered what those emotions were like.
"Well, if it makes you feel more at ease, I could take my own life and you can pretend it was you," you suggested, trying to ease his discomfort.
"What? Why? Why would you do that?" Jeongwoo asked, bewildered.
"Why wouldn't I?" you responded with a nonchalant shrug.
Jeongwoo felt like you were toying with him, playing games with his mind.
"Cause... you're Whitebeard! You possess wealth and power beyond imagination," he argued.
"I can understand why you might think that," you replied calmly. "But having everything doesn't guarantee happiness or fulfillment. There are things in life that money and power can't provide."
Your words brought a pause to the conversation as Jeongwoo tried to process this perspective. The idea that there could be something missing from the life of someone as influential as Whitebeard intrigued him.
“For instance, I've never had a pet dog because I’m afraid it might fall into the sea. Why would I live if I can't have a dog?”
Wanting to die because of a dog? It didn't make sense to him. After all, many ships had dogs as companions, and the fear of losing one to the sea seemed excessive and irrational. The boy couldn't help the thought that perhaps you were just a crazy person, he found it difficult to take your words seriously.
You rose from the bed, stepping onto the wooden floor with your bare feet, standing directly in front of Jeongwoo. The boy remained frozen, unable to move in your presence. Your intense gaze made him feel self-conscious.
"Will you do it?" you asked, your voice filled with anticipation.
"No..." Jeongwoo admitted, his voice filled with resignation. "I can't."
"Coward." you snapped, your anger replacing your previous calm demeanor.
Without warning, you forcefully pushed the knife out of Jeongwoo's grip, catching him off guard. A struggle ensued as both of you fought for control of the weapon. You pushed the knife towards your own neck, while Jeongwoo desperately resisted, pushing back.
"Stop it immediately!" Jeongwoo pleaded, his voice filled with fear.
"No! I want to die!" you exclaimed, your voice filled with frustration and despair.
The fight abruptly stopped as you both heard the sound of an explosion coming from outside. The sudden noise caught your attention, momentarily distracting you from the intense struggle and bringing a sense of uncertainty to the room. Momentarily stunned by the unexpected blast, you released your grip on the knife, which clattered to the floor. The urgency of the situation overshadowed your previous conflict as you instinctively turned your attention towards the chaos unfolding outside the cabin.
"The ship is on fire!" one of your crewmates screamed, her voice filled with panic, as she desperately tried to open the door to your room. Despite her efforts, the door remained stubbornly locked.
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in alarm, and he turned to you, searching for answers. But instead of panic, he found you smiling to yourself, a strange gleam in your eyes.
"The ship is on fire," you repeated softly, almost in awe.
Confusion and concern filled Jeongwoo's voice as he asked, "What are you talking about?"
Ignoring his question, you hurriedly rummaged through your belongings, searching for something specific. Your hands found a large box of gunpowder, and without hesitation, you tossed it onto the floor of the room. The contents spilled out, forming a dangerous circle of flammable material.
Realizing what you were about to do, Jeongwoo lunged forward, desperately attempting to stop you. But it was too late. The room was already filled with thick smoke, making it difficult to see and breathe.
A struggle ensued between the two of you, the suffocating smoke clouding your senses and heightening the chaos. You fought against Jeongwoo's attempts to restrain you, pushing him away with a desperate strength fueled by a strange determination.
In the chaos of the struggle, Jeongwoo lost his footing and fell to the floor, his body slumping unconscious. The smoke continued to billow around the room, its suffocating grip tightening with each passing second.
Tumblr media
Jeongwoo had made many mistakes in his life, but none compared to the decision to kill Whitebeard. Despite knowing that it could lead to his demise, he had hoped for an honorable death, a valiant battle against one of the revered kings of the sea. Now, he was dead, and his crew would remain in perpetual waiting, unaware of his fate.
However, as Jeongwoo surrendered to the embrace of death, a peculiar sensation washed over him. Instead of the anticipated darkness and stillness, he felt a gentle breeze upon his face, carrying with it the unmistakable scent of the ocean. In the distance, a captivating voice sang a haunting melody, unfamiliar yet oddly comforting. It was not the symphony of death, but something entirely different.
Slowly, Jeongwoo opened his eyes, his surroundings shifting from darkness to a blinding brightness. And there he lay, not in the clutches of death, but on the sandy floor of a beach, safe and unharmed. Beside him sat Y/N, the source of the melody that had captivated his senses.
Confusion and relief washed over Jeongwoo as he struggled to comprehend his current state. "Am I alive?" he questioned, his voice filled with a mix of astonishment and gratitude.
You turned your gaze towards Jeongwoo, a mischievous smile playing on your lips. "No, my friend, we both died and unfortunately, we didn't make it to heaven. Welcome to hell." you joked, adding a playful smirk.
Jeongwoo looked at you, slightly taken aback by your remark.
"No, we're not dead. Well, at least you are not dead," you clarified, your tone now more serious.
As Jeongwoo settled down, his eyes adjusting to the sunlight, he couldn't help but inquire about the fate of your ship. "What happened to your ship?" he asked, evident worry in his voice.
"Oh, it burned down completely. I had to carry you all the way up to the beach cause you refused to wake up." you explained, a tinge of exhaustion in your voice. "My crew already gave up on trying to find me. Whitebeard is finally dead."
The weight of your words lingered in the air, mingling with a sense of irony and regret. Jeongwoo absorbed the gravity of the situation, his thoughts drifting to the consequences of his actions and the unpredictable path that lay before them.
"What are you going to do now?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
"I don't know," you replied, your eyes tracing the vastness of the ocean. "But I'm happy I'm not really dead. And now you can say that you killed Whitebeard as well.”
Jeongwoo clutched his knees tightly as he contemplated the implications of your words. A mixture of guilt and disbelief washed over him, realizing the weight of his actions and the role he inadvertently played in Whitebeard's demise.
"Can I ask you something?" Jeongwoo said. You nodded, signaling your willingness to answer.
"Your room was full of medicine, what is that for?" he inquired, his eyes reflecting genuine interest.
"Oh, that. I have a weak body, you see. That's why I never actively participated in battles. The medicine I had in my room helped me manage the pain and discomfort that came with it." You maintained a positive demeanor, even when discussing serious matters. "I should've thought about that before I burned my room down. Now I have no access to those medicines anymore."
Jeongwoo listened intently, realizing the extent of your struggles and the sacrifices you had made. It deepened his understanding of who you were beyond the legendary figure of Whitebeard.
"Can I ask you something too?" You said with a hopeful look in your eyes.
"Of course," Jeongwoo replied, curious about your request.
"Could you take me with you on your ship?"
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in surprise. "What?"
"See, I want to experience life as a pirate without being the captain. I've always been sheltered and protected, spending my days confined to that room because my crewmates feared for my safety. I want to be a regular crewmate and see what life is like beyond my previous duties. Please, bring me along to your ship."
Jeongwoo hesitated, taken aback by your request. "I'm sorry, but..."
"Please, I promise I won't be a burden. I was always the brains behind our quests, I can help out if you need it. I'll be good company, and once I find a new place to live, I'll leave, I promise!"
"Y/N," he interrupted, seriousness in his voice tone, "I'm a Blackbeard pirate." He braced himself for your reaction, unsure of how you would take the news.
But instead of being devastated or shocked, you looked at him with a knowing smile. "Oh, I already knew. The moment I laid eyes on your knife, I recognized it. That type of blade is exclusively crafted for Blackbeard's crew. I intentionally left yours in my room to make it look like you're the one who caused my death."
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in surprise, his secret now out in the open. "You knew all along?"
You nodded, a playful glint in your eyes. "I told you I'm smart."
"And you still want to join my father's crew?" Jeongwoo asked, concern etched on his face.
"Father? Oh, that's news to me," you replied with a hint of surprise. "But yes, I do!"
"Listen, if he finds out you're Whitebeard, he might do something drastic. I am his son, but I have no idea what he's capable of." Jeongwoo warned, his worry palpable.
"That's a risk I'm willing to take. After all, I'm already familiar with pain." you said, a tinge of determination in your voice as you alluded to your health condition.
Jeongwoo carefully considered the situation, contemplating his father's nature and your resolute spirit. Finally, he made a decision.
"Alright. You can come with me. I'll help you get the medicines you need and we'll disguise your appearance so that your crewmates won't recognize you if they happen to come across us. Having white hair won't exactly blend in well with my crew."
You listened attentively, ready to fulfill your part in the plan.
"But there's one more thing," Jeongwoo continued. "We will have to convince my crew that I killed you, I mean, Whitebeard. It's crucial to ensure your safety. Can you do that?"
A mischievous smile crossed your face as you accepted the challenge. "Consider it done. Together, we'll weave a convincing tale that even Blackbeard himself won't question."
With an agreement in place, you and Jeongwoo embarked on a journey filled with secrets, transformations, and the unpredictable dynamics of a notorious pirate crew.
The crew of Blackbeard was going about their usual activities. Some pirates diligently cleaned the deck, others sharpened their weapons, and a few studied maps. Amidst this routine, the sharp-eyed navigator, Jaehyuk, spotted a tiny boat approaching their ship. He recognized it instantly—Jeongwoo had returned after two long months.
"Jeongwoo is back on the ship!" Jaehyuk’s voice echoed through the air, grabbing the attention of the sailors.
The crew quickly gathered, eagerly awaiting their comrade's arrival. As Jeongwoo stepped onto the deck, he was warmly embraced by his friends.
"Welcome back, mate!" Jihoon, Blackbeard's trusted right-hand man, exclaimed with joy.
However, Jeongwoo's demeanor betrayed a sense of terror rather than excitement. He surveyed the surroundings, his father conspicuously absent. Soon, he would have to reveal the lie he had planned.
"Where's the captain?" Jeongwoo inquired, his voice tinged with apprehension.
"Blackbeard is in his cabin. We're preparing to dock at a new island." Jihoon responded, noting the unusual behavior displayed by the young pirate. "Is something the matter?"
Without uttering a word, Jeongwoo swiftly made his way towards his father's quarters, leaving Jihoon with unanswered questions.
"Well, look who we have here..." Doyoung, the ship's chef, remarked with a sly grin as he peered down at the boat beside the ship, catching sight of you.
Jeongwoo hesitated for a moment before mustering the courage to knock on his father's door. He did it and Blackbeard's voice boomed from within, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Captain. I'm back." Jeongwoo responded, his voice slightly shaky.
There was a brief pause before Blackbeard granted him entry. Jeongwoo pushed open the door and stepped into the room, which resembled more of an office than a living space. A large desk cluttered with papers and boxes of weapons dominated the room's center.
"Hello, Father," Jeongwoo greeted, standing before the imposing desk. Blackbeard remained engrossed in his maps, not bothering to look up.
"I have something important to tell you," Jeongwoo continued, his voice earnest. "I lied about going to trade treasure. In truth, I've been working on a plan to eliminate a rival captain. And... I succeeded. I killed him and burned his ship, leaving one of our knives as proof. I'm certain the news will reach you soon."
"I understand. But you didn't mention the crucial part," Blackbeard stated, his voice laced with curiosity. He fixed his intense gaze on Jeongwoo, waiting for the revelation. “Whom did you kill?”
Taking a deep breath, Jeongwoo summoned his courage and spoke, his voice tinged with both apprehension and resolve. "I... I killed Whitebeard, sir," he confessed, the weight of his words hanging in the air. The significance of his action was not lost on either of them.
He looked down, awaiting his father's reaction, but to his surprise, Blackbeard remained focused on his maps, seemingly unperturbed by the revelation.
"Father?" Jeongwoo stammered, seeking acknowledgment.
Without looking up, Blackbeard replied with a dismissive tone, "I heard you. If what you say is true, then I will wait for the news to reach me in due time."
"Additionally, I brought someone back with me to the ship. I hope that's not a problem." Jeongwoo said.
"Your guest is your responsibility. Now, return to your usual duties. "
Jeongwoo's heart sank at his father's lack of response. It seemed that his confession had fallen on deaf ears. He couldn't help but wonder what lay behind his father's impassive facade.
After leaving his room, Jeongwoo hurried to the boat to bring you up to his room. However, to his surprise, you were no longer there. His crewmates had already taken the initiative to escort you to Jeongwoo's quarters. As he entered the room, he noticed Doyoung lingering by your side, a flirtatious smirk on his face.
"Here's some clothes from our shortest crewmates. These are men's outfits, but it might fit you for now!" Doyoung said, placing the garments in your hands. He made a subtle move, his hand briefly brushing against yours in a flirtatious manner.
Jeongwoo's annoyance grew as he witnessed Doyoung's advances. It seemed that his friend couldn't resist flirting with any woman he encountered.
"Oh, Jeongwoo. Hi!" Doyoung greeted, his playful tone evident. "Did Jeongwoo tell you he's my assistant?"
"I think that's enough, Doyoung" Jeongwoo interjected, his voice tinged with annoyance.
Noticing the tension, you decided to break the ice. "Hey, how did things go with your father?"
Jeongwoo glanced at Doyoung and then turned to you. "Doyoung, could you excuse us for a moment? I need to talk to Y/N privately."
Doyoung shrugged, his flirtatious demeanor fading slightly. "Sure thing, Jeongwoo. I'll catch up with you later."
As Doyoung left the room, Jeongwoo closed the door behind him, creating a sense of privacy for your conversation.
"Did you tell him?" you asked, your curiosity piqued.
"Yes, I did. But he didn't believe me," Jeongwoo replied, frustration evident in his voice. He paced back and forth within the confines of the small room, trying to process his father's disbelief.
"I see," you nodded, understanding the situation. "Let's not dwell on it for now. It's only a matter of time before news of my... his death spreads throughout the Caribbean."
Jeongwoo sighed, releasing the tension in his brow. "I hope you're right," he murmured, his thoughts preoccupied with the uncertainty of their plan. He shifted gears, changing the topic. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm doing well," you replied, a hint of a smile playing on your lips. "The medicine we got on the way is helping a lot with the pain. Your crew has been welcoming and friendly."
Jeongwoo's expression softened, glad to hear that you were finding some comfort amidst the unfamiliar surroundings.
He took a better look at you, taking in your changed appearance. The clothes you wore were clearly mismatched and of questionable quality, and your long hair was concealed beneath a knit cap. The shoes on your feet seemed ill-fitting and out of place.
"Once we land on a commercial island, I'll make sure to get you proper clothing," Jeongwoo assured you, his voice filled with determination.
You nodded appreciatively, grateful for his consideration.
"This is my room. It's very small compared to yours, but it's the only one on the ship. At least I have one advantage as the captain's son," Jeongwoo chuckled, a hint of self-deprecating humor in his tone. "You can keep it to yourself."
"Really? But where will you sleep then?" you asked, concerned about his sleeping arrangements.
"With the other crewmates on the deck," he replied nonchalantly.
"Well, if you can sleep on the floor with them, you might as well sleep on the floor here," you suggested.
"I'm fine, don't worry," he assured you.
"Come on, we've been camping together all these past days. There's no difference between that and sharing a room," you reasoned.
"Fine, I'll think about it. But for now, I have to attend to my duties. Stay here, and we can talk later," Jeongwoo said, his attention turning to his responsibilities.
"Your duties as the cook's assistant?" you teased playfully.
"Hey, stop it!" he exclaimed, a faint smile gracing his face as he left you alone in the room.
The rest of the day deviated from your usual routine. In your previous life as Whitebeard, your days were consumed by studying and strategizing. However, in these past few days with Jeongwoo, you had taken on the role of his mentor, teaching him the art of combat and imparting your knowledge. It has been an enjoyable experience for both of you.
Now, with a moment of solitude, you seized the opportunity to remove your knit cap, allowing your hair to cascade freely. As you explored Jeongwoo's belongings, you stumbled upon a knife. Remembering his words from earlier, you made a decision. Determined to embrace this new chapter in your life, you courageously chopped off all of your white, long hair, leaving it shorter than Jeongwoo's own hair. It symbolized a fresh start, a declaration of your commitment to this new identity.
When Jeongwoo returned to invite you to dinner, he was taken aback by your new visual. The sight surprised him, but it also reassured him of your determination and commitment to this new chapter. You informed him that you weren't hungry at the moment, so he kindly brought you a plate of food to enjoy later.
As the night settled in, Jeongwoo made the decision to accept your request to become roommates. He settled himself on the floor while you took the bed, contemplating what the future held in store for both of you.
The next morning, a loud knock on Jeongwoo's door jolted him awake. Doyoung's voice came through, urgently informing him that Blackbeard wanted to see him. Panic surged through Jeongwoo as he realized you were no longer in your bed. He sprang into action, hastily making his way to the deck, anticipating the worst.
To his astonishment, instead of a tense confrontation, he was greeted with lively music and jubilant celebrations. The crewmates were in high spirits, reveling in the festivities.
“He’s awake!” Doyoung called out, drawing everyone's attention.
Blackbeard turned towards his son, his eyes filled with pride and joy. He opened his arms, welcoming him with warmth.
"My son," he said, placing a hand on Jeongwoo's shoulder. "Last night I sent Jihoon to the nearest island to verify the information you shared. He found this." Blackbeard retrieved a newspaper from his coat and handed it to Jeongwoo. The headline read: "Pirate Whitebeard killed by a member of Blackbeard's crew."
Jeongwoo looked up, his confusion deepening as he saw his father's wide grin. "I am proud of you, son." Blackbeard proclaimed, turning to address the rest of the crew. "My son has killed Whitebeard!" His words were met with cheers and applause, filling the air with jubilation.
Jeongwoo stood in disbelief, his emotions swirling. The truth had been accepted, and his father's pride washed away any doubts he had carried. It was a moment of validation and a turning point in his journey as a pirate.
"Where's Y/N?" Jeongwoo inquired, scanning the surroundings.
"Your new companion? She's over there, reading books to the boys!" Blackbeard pointed towards the stairs where you sat, engrossed in storytelling for the crew members. "It's a rare find to have someone so smart and well-read among us!"
Jeongwoo's heart swelled with a mix of emotions as he watched you captivate the crew with your storytelling. Gratitude, pride, and a lingering sense of guilt churned inside him. He had never felt valued by his crew before, and his father had never expressed pride in him until now. The conflicting emotions gnawed at him, but he couldn't deny the happiness that bloomed within.
Doyoung, ever exuberant, nudged Jeongwoo towards the festivities. "Let's celebrate!" he exclaimed, urging him to join the merry chaos unfolding around them.
And so they celebrated, laughter and music filling the air throughout the day. Jeongwoo revealed the joyous atmosphere, savoring the newfound recognition and acceptance. Yet, underneath it all, the weight of his guilt remained, a constant reminder of the choices he had made.
The following day, Jeongwoo found himself relieved of his duties in the kitchen. Blackbeard had a different plan for him - to train his battle skills under the guidance of Jihoon. It was a clear indication that his father saw potential in him beyond being a mere cook's assistant.
Meanwhile, you were slowly carving out your own place on the ship. Your ability to read and your intelligence had garnered respect from the crewmates. You found yourself aiding them with your knowledge, and even Blackbeard himself sought your assistance. In return, you received new clothes more suitable for a female pirate, as well as supplies of medicines and books to feed your thirst for knowledge.
Jeongwoo, too, experienced a transformation. He was bestowed with a new sword, a stylish monocle, and a pirate hat that accentuated his growing stature within the crew. Everything seemed to be falling into place, almost too perfectly.
As the months passed, Jeongwoo vowed to prove himself even more, to earn his place honestly and make his father truly proud. Yet, deep inside, despite the newfound recognition and joy, he couldn't fully embrace it without confronting the truth that simmered beneath the surface.
Tumblr media
"Land ahoy!" Jihoon shouted, breaking the silence in the ship.
Blackbeard, standing beside Jeongwoo, turned his attention to his son. "Do you think that's the right island?" he inquired, testing Jeongwoo's knowledge and instincts.
"Yes, sir." Jeongwoo responded confidently, his gaze fixed upon the island ahead.
You, too, recognized the island. It held a special place in your memory, as it was rumored to be the location of an ancient treasure. However, you had never had the opportunity to search for it, as your fellow sailors deemed it too dangerous for you to venture ashore.
“Let me see…” Blackbeard assessed his crew, pondering who should accompany him on this expedition. After a brief pause, he made his decision. "Jihoon, Junghwan, Jeongwoo... and Y/N," he announced. "The four of you will join me. The rest can remain on the ship."
The crew members were taken aback by his decision to bring you, a girl, along on the expedition. They were well aware of the island's dangers, knowing that other pirates might be lurking there. However, despite their surprise, no one dared to intervene or question their captain's choice.
Blackbeard's trusted right-hand man, approached you with a serious expression. "Can you handle a sword?" he inquired, assessing your combat abilities.
"I'm actually better with guns," you replied confidently, recognizing your own strengths.
Jihoon nodded in understanding, reaching into his pocket and retrieving a gun, which he handed to you. "Good choice." he remarked, acknowledging your preference and arming you accordingly.
As you accepted the weapon, a sense of determination washed over you. “Thank you.”
You noticed Jeongwoo stealing glances at you with his familiar anxiousness. Understanding his concern, you nodded reassuringly, silently communicating that you were prepared for the journey ahead.
After the ship docked on the island, the five of you disembarked and ventured into the forest. The dense vegetation made progress difficult, but Blackbeard and the other two crewmates forged a path ahead, diligently following the directions on the map while clearing obstacles along the way. Jeongwoo and you trailed a few steps behind them, engaged in a quiet conversation.
"You should have said you didn't want to come," Jeongwoo voiced his worry.
"Why would I? It sounds like an adventure," you replied with a hint of excitement in your voice.
"But it's dangerous, especially for you." he expressed his concern.
"Don’t underestimate me, Jeongwoo. Despite my limitations, I still possess a wealth of experience." you assured him confidently. "I was once a great fighter before my health condition started to manifest. In the early days of my crew, I always embarked on new adventures.”
Jeongwoo's apprehensive expression softened as he took in your words. He couldn't help but appreciate your bravery and determination, even if it worried him.
"I'm actually glad you came with us..." Jeongwoo admitted. "I don't think i could do it without you."
"Absolutely, we're a team now," you replied. "A crew within the crew!"
The boy couldn't help but think about how different you and Blackbeard were. While you were known for your kindness and care, Blackbeard was renowned for his strength, brusqueness, and his position at the forefront of battles. The juxtaposition of your gentle nature and his fierce demeanor struck a chord with Jeongwoo, prompting him to realize that not every captain had to conform to the same mold.
As you continued your trek through the dense forest, a sudden shift in the atmosphere caught your attention. Your instincts heightened, and you swiftly halted your movement, causing Jeongwoo to turn towards you, a questioning look on his face. With a finger pressed to your lips, you silenced him, your senses alert and focused.
A strange, almost imperceptible sound reached your ears, causing a shiver to run down your spine. It was a sound that didn't belong in the natural rhythm of the forest. Gripping the gun that had been entrusted to you, you prepared yourself for the unexpected.
Breaking the silence with a commanding voice, you called out into the surrounding wilderness "We know you are here! Show yourselves!"
The declaration startled not only Jeongwoo, but also Blackbeard, Jihoon, and Junghwan. They turned their heads, scanning their surroundings with wide eyes, suddenly aware of the imminent threat.
In a matter of moments, the once seemingly tranquil forest came alive with movement. Figures surged from the foliage, surrounding you and your crew in a threatening formation.
"I see you have a map here," one of the enemy pirates jeered, a mocking laugh escaping his lips. "Give me that, big boy," he taunted.
The audacity of the pirate's words sent a ripple of amusement through the crew, as they witnessed someone daring to challenge the infamous their captain. Blackbeard's laughter echoed through the air, a deep, menacing sound that reverberated with power.
Without hesitation, Blackbeard drew his sword and his crewmates followed suit. The clash of steel filled the clearing as the two opposing forces collided in a fierce battle.
You and Jeongwoo fought side by side initially, hwever, the sheer numbers and tenacity of the opposing pirates overwhelmed you. In the chaos of the skirmish, you found yourself pushed back, stumbling and falling to the forest floor. But Jeongwoo remained in his protection, his unwavering loyalty shining through.
The battle raged on. Each swing of a sword, each evasive maneuver, and each determined strike propelled the conflict forward. The forest floor became a battleground, marred by the footprints of those engaged in the struggle.
Despite the enemy's relentless assault, Blackbeard's crew fought with a ferocity and skill that set them apart. The enemy pirates, though formidable, paled in comparison to the experienced warriors under Blackbeard's command.
Finally, the tides of battle began to turn in your favor. The enemy pirates, weakened and disheartened, succumbed to the relentless assault of Blackbeard's crew. The forest grew quiet, the heavy breaths of combatants punctuating the stillness.
As the final enemy pirate fell, defeated and broken, a sense of triumph and relief washed over the clearing. The remaining combatants stood tall, their bodies bruised and bloodied, but their spirits unyielding. Blackbeard's crew had emerged victorious, their reputation for strength and indomitable willpower reaffirmed.
Blackbeard firmly grasped the pirate who had dared to speak insolently before, his powerful hand closing around the young man's neck. Bloodstains marred the defeated boy's battered face, yet he still managed a defiant smile through the pain.
As you struggled to rise from the forest floor, Jeongwoo hurried to your side, concern etched across his features. He noticed that your white hair, previously covered by a knit hat, was now exposed. A sense of urgency filled the air as you frantically searched for the lost hat amidst the sand. Jeongwoo, ever attentive, joined in the search, determined to find it for you.
However, before the hat could be retrieved, Blackbeard's commanding voice broke through the commotion. "Jeongwoo? Come here, son," he beckoned, his grip on the pirate tightening as he pressed him against a nearby tree.
Jeongwoo obeyed, making his way towards his father's imposing figure.
As Jeongwoo stood beside Blackbeard, his father's piercing gaze bore into the captive pirate. Blackbeard's free hand reached into his coat, retrieving a knife adorned with the unmistakable mark of Blackbeard's crew. The knife, reminiscent of the one he had used when he first encountered you.
"Take this knife," Blackbeard commanded, placing it in Jeongwoo's hand. "Let's teach this kid a lesson. Show me exactly what you did to Whitebeard."
Jeongwoo's heart pounded in his chest as the weight of his father's expectations settled upon him. He tightened his grip on the knife, his fingers trembling ever so slightly.
Blackbeard callously dropped the defenseless pirate to the ground, creating a space for his son to reenact a murder that had never occurred. His request bore down on Jeongwoo, leaving him disoriented and unable to think straight. He had never imagined his father would be capable of demanding such a horrific act, yet deep down, he knew he shouldn't have been surprised.
"Go ahead, son," Blackbeard urged, his voice cold and demanding. "Kill this bastard and burn his body afterwards. Show us that you're capable of being my successor."
Jeongwoo stood frozen, his mind in turmoil. Every fiber of his being rebelled against the notion of carrying out his father's command. The weight of the knife in his hand felt like an anchor, dragging him into an abyss of moral conflict.
Time seemed to stand still as a deafening silence enveloped the forest. Blackbeard's frustration boiled over, his anger erupting in a primal scream that reverberated through the air.
"SHOW US!" Blackbeard bellowed, his voice filled with rage and disappointment.
But Jeongwoo couldn't bring himself to carry out such a heinous act. He refused to become a mere pawn in his father's ruthless game, to succumb to the darkness that Blackbeard represented.
"I won't..." Jeongwoo whispered, his voice barely audible.
"What? What the hell did you say?" Blackbeard seethed, his face contorted with anger.
Summoning his courage, Jeongwoo spoke with a newfound strength. "I said I won't kill him!" he declared, his words clear and resolute.
Instantly, his father's fist collided with his face, a brutal punch that sent Jeongwoo sprawling to the ground. The force of the blow reverberated through the air, the sound of impact echoing in the silence that engulfed the scene. The crew stood frozen, their gazes fixed upon the fallen young man, a mixture of shock and disbelief etched upon their faces.
"Enough!" a commanding voice rang out, cutting through the tension. Surprisingly, it was you.
Standing tall and defiant, you aimed your gun directly at Blackbeard himself.
"Put an end to this madness, Blackbeard," you demanded, your voice steady and unwavering. "Your son has made his choice, and you will respect it."
A stunned silence descended upon the forest as all eyes turned to you, the unexpected voice of reason in this chaotic scene.
"Who do you think you are to talk to me like this?" Blackbeard screamed, his voice filled with fury and disbelief.
"Whitebeard..." a voice interjected, joining the tense conversation. It was the defeated pirate whom Jeongwoo had refused to kill. He spoke slowly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "I've always heard whispers on my island, rumors that a young girl was kidnapped from our church to serve as a scribe on a pirate ship, but instead she became the captain. The girl with the unmistakable white hair. Now I see, my people were right all along.”
The revelation hung in the air, casting a spell of astonishment over the assembled crowd.
Blackbeard's face contorted with a mixture of emotions—shock, denial, and a flicker of recognition. The realization that the formidable Whitebeard, revered as a fierce male pirate, was in fact a kidnapped child who had seized her own destiny.
In that moment, the power dynamics shifted, eroding the foundation of established hierarchies.
As the crew stood frozen in shock at the revelation, the fallen enemies seized the opportunity to strike back. Swiftly, they immobilized Junghwan and Jihoon, their movements deft and calculated. Meanwhile, Jeongwoo remained sprawled on the ground, still recovering from the forceful blow he had received.
Blackbeard regained his senses and unsheathed his sword, charging towards you with lethal intent. His eyes burned with rage and his sword gleamed menacingly in the sunlight. But before he could reach you, a resounding gunshot pierced the air, causing Blackbeard to halt in his tracks.
He clutched his chest, his hand stained with crimson blood, as his body crumpled to the ground.
The source of the gunshot was not you, however; it was the defeated pirate who had found an opportunity for redemption. He had chosen to intervene, taking justice into his own hands.
You rushed to Jeongwoo's side, your hands cradling his face gently as you tried to convey the depth of your emotions. The confusion in his eyes slowly gave way to clarity as the reality of the situation settled upon him.
"Jeongwoo..." you whispered, your voice trembling with a mixture of sadness and compassion.
He looked at you, his gaze filled with uncertainty and searching for answers. "Y/N... What happened to my dad?" he asked, his voice tinged with apprehension.
"Jeongwoo..." you began, your voice catching in your throat as tears welled up in your eyes. "I'm so sorry..."
Before you could finish your sentence, the assassin who had intervened earlier, stood before you, interrupting the somber moment. He addressed you respectfully, seeking confirmation of his suspicions.
"Milady," The boy spoke, his tone filled with reverence. "Was I right? Are you the girl who was kidnapped from Pueblo Esperanza?”
You nodded amidst your tears, acknowledging the truth. "Yes. It is true."
"My name is Haruto. I lived there as well. I think I recall seeing you when I was young. A white-haired girl like is not easy to forget.” He said, extending his hand towards you. "We should leave. Their crew is now aware of our presence, and they'll come searching due to the gunshots. I can guide us to safety."
Your gaze shifted briefly to Jihoon and Junghwan, who were bound and held captive by Haruto's crewmates. Then, your attention returned to Jeongwoo, his expression clouded with conflicting emotions.
"Jeongwoo, please, come with me." you pleaded, tears streaming down your face.
"Did you kill him?" He asked, his mind still confused because of the attack he suffered.
"I didn't kill your father. I never wanted any of this."
Jeongwoo's eyes narrowed as he processed your words, the weight of his own emotions evident. He uttered his thoughts slowly, his words heavy with regret and pain. "I should've killed you first."
The anguish in his voice pierced your heart, and you recoiled as if struck by his words. Desperate to reach him, to bridge the growing chasm between you, you moved your face closer to his, your voice filled with a mix of sorrow and determination.
Desperately, you pleaded with Jeongwoo, tears streaming down your face. "Please, listen to me… I can't do this without you…" you begged, your voice filled with anguish.
But Jeongwoo's response was a soft whisper, barely audible. "Don't touch me."
The weight of his words struck you like a blow, leaving you stunned and heartbroken. Slowly, you rose to your feet, your eyes devoid of any remaining hope or emotion. In that moment, you felt a profound emptiness settle within you.
You turned to Haruto and accepted his outstretched hand. "Don't kill them," you uttered, your voice barely a whisper, but filled with a resolute plea.
Haruto met your gaze, his expression unreadable. "As you wish," he replied, his tone tinged with a mix of understanding and restraint.
As you bid farewell, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air, knowing that your time together had come to an end. And thus, your journey took a different path from Jeongwoo. The circumstances had led you to part ways, each pursuing your own destiny.
After regaining his senses, Jeongwoo found himself confined to his father's bed on the ship. For two weeks, he secluded himself in that room, needing time to process the overwhelming events that had unfolded. Memories and emotions swirled within him as he struggled to come to terms with the loss of his father.
When he finally mustered the strength to step out of the room, the crew's solemn faces confirmed the grim truth—Blackbeard was no longer alive. The weight of grief settled heavily upon Jeongwoo's shoulders, a reminder of the void left by his father's absence.
In the midst of this somber moment, another revelation awaited Jeongwoo. The crew had chosen Jihoon as the new captain, recognizing his strength and leadership qualities. However, Jihoon surprised everyone by stepping down from the position. He declared that Jeongwoo had always been the true successor, even if his father had never explicitly acknowledged it.
Jeongwoo's heart swelled with a mix of emotions — grief for his father's passing, astonishment at Jihoon's unwavering support, and a newfound sense of responsibility. The weight of his heritage and the expectations of the crew now rested upon his shoulders.
For his first order as the new captain, Jeongwoo didn't request weapons or treasure. Instead, he had a different goal in mind. He gathered the crew together and instructed them to bring forth all the maps they had in their possession. It was time to embark on a quest to uncover a specific place, a place of significance.
As the crew members spread out their maps on the deck, Jeongwoo's eyes scanned the collection. He studied each map carefully, searching for a particular name that held deep meaning to him.
"I found it..." Jeongwoo spoke the words aloud, his voice filled with a mix of anticipation and determination. With a steady hand, he traced the outline of a small island on his own map, marking its location.
Pueblo Esperanza, the village you were born in.
Tumblr media
You awoke in a cozy bed, the gentle breeze and melodious chirping of birds filling the air around you. As you rose from the bed, the cool touch of the concrete floor greeted your bare feet.
Casting a glance at the mirror, you took in your appearance. Your hair had grown, cascading down to your shoulders, and you wore a comfortable nightgown. With a sense of purpose, you reached into your bag and selected a simple dress, swiftly changing into it. Slipping on a pair of shoes, you completed your morning preparations.
Exiting the room, you made your way to the living room of the house. There, seated at the table, was a woman dressed in a religious outfit. As she patiently waited, a warm smile graced your lips.
"Good morning," you greeted her, your voice filled with genuine kindness.
"Oh, good morning, dear," she responded kindly. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes," you replied. "I'm still adjusting to being on land instead of the ocean, though."
"Well, you better not get too used to it if you plan on returning," she responded, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Haruto seems quite eager to come back to the sea."
You contemplated her words for a moment before expressing your thoughts. "Well, he only came here to visit, but... I still haven't decided if I want to continue my life as a pirate."
The woman nodded with a sense of understanding. "That's perfectly alright, my dear. You are welcome to stay here at the church for as long as you need."
"I appreciate that," you replied, a sense of gratitude in your voice. "I have a feeling that Pueblo Esperanza has many things in store for me."

agdghshd what if frenemies to lovers volleyball jihoon
ok i took a lil break from these (she says 20 hours after u sent this) and im not actually a 100% on which jihoon u mean BUT ive been getting a ton of trsr reqs so im gonna assume its tht jihoon!! if it just happens to be my wooahae man pls just send this again bc ill absolutely talk abt him too
frenemies to lovers tho omg... you and jihoon have always been like. friendly enough with one another. u both are on opposing volleyball teams (co-ed in general btw just to keep stuff gn) and ppl think that you two actually hate each other on the court because you constantly trash talk one another. its all in good fun, but there have def been a few instances where one of you genuinely ended up mad at the other bc it was taken too far (usually made up for with paying for the other's meal and apologizing). honestly i think the two of u just have friends in common too, so ur friendly w one another overall. the enemies part just comes out bc ur on rival teams and the two of u just happen to be competitive abt volleyball.
hmm... honestly i think there could be some kind of misunderstanding scenario here tht takes it from frenemies to legit enemies for a lil bit, but only with it coming after some one-on-one bonding (aka the falling for one another bit) and some sort of deal that he'll tell you a secret if your team beats him at the next major match between the two of u. maybe u get legit pissed at jihoon based off something you heard him say, but didnt get the full story since you had practice. ur aggressive during the next game, things escalate, and end up in an argument after someone gets hurt. ur team loses and u take off, kind of just pissed in general. jihoon ends up finding u where u usually go when ur mad (maybe a park or something) and sets down a sports drink next to you. serious convo abt what was said, jihoon clears it up, and u feel a lil dumb and apologize to him.
he asks if you remember the deal, and you do but point out that ur team lost. he makes a comment that he didnt say he wouldn't tell you if you lost--just that he would definitely do it if you won... and also his team is refusing to let him back down again. so he confesses he likes you and wants to take you on a date tonight. u point out tht his team is supposed to be celebrating and he says that he can celebrate after their next win and you can come along then, too, as his partner. its a lil cheesy and you tease him abt 'what if i don't like you back? hm?' but he chases after you and holds ur hand and asks what you wanna get for dinner and that he'll be a ~gracious~ date and pay for you too And walk you home afterward (bc he knows you'll tease him back over it all)

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
all Haruto wants is to make it to lunch so he can nap. all you want is to make sure you get into your first university choice on a scholarship. aka you also want the highest grades. that's a bit of a problem, especially when the two of you keep getting in each other's way.
squeak. squeak. squeak. squeak.
someone in class had been shaking their leg up and down for the past ten minutes, driving you crazy as you tried to take notes. their rubber shoes were making sounds as they hit the linoleum floor and you were about to throw your own shoe at whoever it was.
"Haruto. stop shaking your leg and pay attention. it's bad luck," Yoshinori, the top student whispered somewhere behind you.
Haruto scoffed in response but stopped, and finally your ears were at peace. you were so happy you could give Yoshi a kiss or something--
squeak. squeak. squeak.
you gritted your teeth together. just 6 more minutes of class and all of this would be over.
no.
no.
you couldn't do it.
you suddenly got up and everyone's eyes turned to you.
"teacher, i really need to use the washroom," you said before storming off, not even giving your teacher a chance to reply.
you washed your face and took a few deep breaths before hurrying back, not wanting to miss the lesson. luckily, you were able to get all the important parts noted down before lunch.
"finally, lunch!" Haruto exclaimed, standing up and doing a booty jiggle in joy.
his friends all laughed and you sighed, turning to him with a glare.
"stop being disruptive during class. you're annoying enough during lunch anyway, so save it for then," you said before you walked away.
Haruto simply watched you with a glare. he didn't get why you were always such a party pooper.
-
in the cafeteria, Haruto wanted to quickly eat so he could head back to class and nap before lunch ended. so, he cut in line. seeing one of his friends near the front, he slid in next to them and quickly picked up a tray.
you, being a few people behind him and having waited five minutes so far just to get to this spot, found it hard to tolerate the tall boy's actions.
"hey, Ruto! don't cut in line. head to the back, we've all been waiting for ages," you shouted, sternly.
Haruto threw you a glare, actually kind of scaring you.
"don't call me Ruto. only my friends call me that. and stop acting like we're close and you can order me around," he replied, returning to his food.
his voice was deep and his eyes looked at you from behind his lids. your heart raced out of probable fear the whole time he interacted with you but once he was gone, all you could do was scoff.
-
thud.
your hand slammed down on Haruto's desk. he woke up dazed but sat upright, somewhat fearing for his life.
"no one cuts in line and gets away with it," you grumbled.
then, you grabbed Haruto's water bottle and splashed some in his face. he was seething with anger.
"and this is for being so loud during class," you huffed.
Yoshi watched everything from the seat beside Haruto while holding back laughter, shocked at your attitude.
"do you think getting the top grades makes you all that?!" Haruto exclaimed while standing up, his voice cracking because of how angry he was.
everyone held back their laughter after hearing the pitch of his voice.
"shut up, all of you!" Haruto screeched before storming out of the class.
-
during phys ed class, two teams were formed for badminton.
"the class president and the student with the highest grades in this class will form the two teams. team captains, pick your teammates and then we can begin," the teacher explained, organizing the rackets and birdies.
you eyed Yoshi as he began to pick his teammates. Haruto. Jaehyuk. Jeongwoo. Asahi. all his friends. you scoffed and leaned against a net.
"if you don't get picked by Yoshi or if you simply don't wanna be on that team, come here," you said, matter-of-factly.
you were surprised to see a lot of people joined you. after dividing everyone into pairs to play doubles, you decided you would play singles, since there was an odd number of students.
when it was time to start, you waited at a net for your opponent. Haruto came marching over, looking relaxed but clearly bottling up some anger.
"did you wanna play against me or was it Yoshi's decision?" you asked, practicing swinging your racket.
"if i beat you today, you're gonna let me cut in line at lunch, let me be as loud as i want in class, and let me sleep whenever i want," Haruto said, serving.
"if i win then you stay quiet, don't cut in lines, and you owe me another wish that i haven't decided," you replied as you returned the serve.
Haruto faced sideways as he ran to hit the birdie, and you noticed his long locks in a ponytail. it's cute, you found yourself thinking.
"why do you get another wish and i don't?" Haruto complained.
"because you asked for three things and i only asked for two."
you smashed the birdie down while Haruto was giving you a confused look, earning you your first point.
the game continued, and even though the rest of your classmates were having fun and taking breaks, you and Haruto were taking things extra seriously.
by the end of the class hour, you had won by three points and Haruto's hair was stuck to his forehead. despite hating the mere sight of him, you still offered him some of your water.
"thanks," he said before chugging it down. you watched his adam's apple bob up and down... then realized he finished all your water and left none for you.
"Haruto!" you yelled after him.
he smirked and grinned at the ground while he walked away.

"so. i won the game, right? you're gonna be quiet in class, right?" you asked Haruto at his desk.
he glared at you slightly before replying, "yeah but you never said for how long. could be a minute. could be an hour. could be months."
he had his chin resting on his palm as he smiled up at you with a mischievous smirk.
"you know exactly what i mean and if you act up, i'm not helping you on our group project."
"group project?"
"class, today i'll be telling you about a new assignment. it's a group project and i used a random generator to decide the pairs," the teacher spoke up just then.
you smirked at Haruto this time, keeping eye contact as both of your names were called.
"Haruto and y/n will be together," the teacher said.
Haruto looked at you with disgust as you mouthed to him to stay quiet, or else you'd make him fail the group project. luckily, he did as he was told.
-
you waited for Haruto at a café. he was five minutes late and you were trying hard not to call him and yell at him as soon as he picked up. you did yell at him when he arrived, though.
"and where in the hell were you? the café's practically closing!" you huffed as the tall boy approached.
he didn't bat an eye as he sat across you.
"y/n, it's so busy. they're open for like 6 more hours, still," he explained, rolling his eyes at you while trying to hide a smile.
"whatever. anyways, do you have any topic ideas?"
"no. i thought you were deciding that, mx 'i get all the top grades'," Haruto joked.
you stuck your tongue out at him and pulled out your notebook. he was right, though. you actually had decided on some topics.
after choosing one and starting your research, dividing the work and starting the process, the two of you parted ways for the night.
-
on presentation day, Haruto was nowhere to be found. you called him about a hundred times, asked all his friends, but there was no trace of him. still, you had to present, so you tried your best. though, you could only present for 5 minutes instead of 10 since Haruto wasn't there to do his part, and the teacher told you you would lose marks for it.
and boy, did you lose marks.
you got a 25% out of 100%. in other words, a complete fail. even after pleading the teacher to understand the situation, they explained to you that rules are rules. if a partner is absent, thats 50% of your grade gone. and the other 25% was because you weren't able to properly present without Haruto, showing the holes in your knowledge.
"but i'm the top student! you know i know what i'm doing," you whined to the teacher.
"no exceptions, y/n. i feel bad, i really do, but there's nothing i can do," the teacher explained.
-
the next day, Haruto hobbled into class on crutches. you felt relief seeing his little ponytail bobbing up and down as he tried to walk to his desk. then, you felt anger.
"where the hell were you yesterday?" you growled at the boy, who had just managed to take a seat.
"do you not see i'm literally injured?" he said back with a frown.
"you could've told me, at least! or sent me your part so i could present it! i got a 25% because of you," you complained.
"it's just a grade, get over it."
Haruto's words were like a punch in your face. 'get over it'? how could you get over it when getting into your dream university was the only thing on your mind right now?
your eyes started to fill with tears. you were so full of anger you didn't know what to do, it felt like a kettle was boiling and whistling within but there was no way to remove it from the stove. so, you stormed off before you could even get the chance to cause trouble.
"hey, that was really harsh, Ruto," Yoshi quietly told his friend with a concerned look.
Haruto shrugged and rolled his eyes, but inside he was a bit worried. as much as the two of you were not on the greatest terms, he knew what he said was wrong. what he didn't know was how to make it right.
"go after them and apologize," Yoshi suggested.
Haruto didn't hesitate for a second before he got up and ran out of the classroom, trying to find where you ran off to.
after searching for some time, he slowed his steps when he heard quiet sobs coming from the empty music classroom. hoping it wasn't you, he slowly approached the class and peeked in through the slightly ajar door.
"y/n?" a deep voice called out your name.
you quickly wiped your eyes and looked up to find Haruto, a worried look on his face. vulnerable and exposed, you didn't know what to do.
"hey, y/n i'm sorry for what i said. that wasn't cool of me. and i'm also sorry i couldn't let you know i wouldn't make it to class. i'll try to explain to the teacher so just... please.. don't be sad," Haruto almost pleaded the last line. his heart was completely shattered seeing your puffy eyes and tear-stained face.
you took the hand that he extended out to you as he helped you stand up, and he walked you to the bathroom.
"wash up and come back to class, okay? but if you're not feeling well and want to go home, i can take notes for you," Haruto said.
"you? take notes?" you almost laughed.
Haruto smiled seeing you in a brighter state.
"yes, dummy. let me make it up to you," he said, ruffling your hair and walking away.
you could hear and feel your heartbeat, somehow missing Haruto's presence the second he turned his back on you. even though you were so angry just moments before, receiving such a sincere apology eased all your worries. you finally knew what to use your badminton wish on.
-
"here are the notes," Haruto said, placing a notebook on your desk.
you looked up with a grin as you opened up the green book, ready to make fun of Haruto's writing or unorganized notes. to your surprise, these notes were better than anything you could've taken.
"if i put effort into school, i could succeed. i just don't want to," Haruto said with a shrug before walking away.
"hey, wait!"
the tall boy turned to look at you, curiously.
"let me treat you to food.. for the notes," you explained.
Haruto told you it was fine and didn't matter, since the notes where to make up for him being absent for the presentation, but you persisted.
"this is my wish for winning badminton. let me treat you to a meal," you said with a smile.
"this is your wish?"
"yeah. now accept before i change my mind and make you wash my clothes or something."
-
"the teacher said we can present again after school in his office, so don't worry about the grade anymore," Haruto said, his cheeks full of fried chicken.
"what? why are you laughing?" he asked.
you took a photo and showed him, the way he had sauce smeared on his face, how his cheeks were full and his fingers messy.
"oh... well that's no fair. we both need to be messy to have fun when eating" he said, smearing sauce on your nose.
"hey!" you yelled, trying to get back at him before he apologized and wiped your face with a napkin.
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry. eat comfortably!" Haruto said with a laugh.
once you paid for the meal and both of you left, Haruto showed you a café.
"if you've got nothing to do, shall we go there? their fluffy pancakes are so good," he said, excitedly bouncing around.
"if they're as fluffy as your hair then i'll go," you replied, ruffling his dark locks before running away.
Haruto laughed and chased after you.
at the café was when a mood change between the two of you first began. you felt more comfortable than ever with Haruto that day, wiping cream off each other's faces and complaining about teachers.
from then on, rather than glaring at each other and angrily cursing from afar, you were laughing at each other's jokes and bonding over music and tv shows. during lunch time when Haruto would lean in to steal a bite of your food, so close that you could boop his nose, it was hard to not notice the way your heart rate sped up.
even that night at the café after you parted ways, you were up all night sharing music with Haruto. so, when you both showed up to class the next morning with dark circles, you shared a knowing smile.
"Haruto, were you up all night gaming again?" Yoshi asked his friend.
Haruto shook his head, smiling dreamily in your direction. he was so excited for lunch time to come, not so he could nap, but so he could talk with you again. and as soon as the bell rang, he got up and raced to your desk.
"wanna eat together?" he asked.
Yoshi watched the interaction with an eyebrow raised, confused to see you leaving the classroom together.
it was like that for weeks. the two of you suddenly became inseparable. your friends became Haruto's friends and vice versa. they kept asking if you were dating, to which you'd shyly reply 'no', but you couldn't hide how much you enjoyed hearing their assumptions. at some point, you started to wish it was true.
you had always seen Haruto as attractive but since he started being nice to you, it was even harder to keep your eyes off him. was it how he'd run his fingers through his dark locks, only for them to fall in his eyes again? and how he'd grab the elastic around his wrist with his teeth so he could just tie his hair out of his face? was it smile, his little smirk where the corners of his lips would turn downwards as he grinned?
every time he wrapped his arm around your shoulders after he ran towards you in the hallway, every time he called your name, every time he sighed while you explained the lesson to him, every time he's smirk when you gave him a cola can for no reason, it was in those moments when you truly felt like yourself.
you were a lovefool for Haruto, but you were also the most y/n in his presence. little did you know, he was more than a lovefool for you, too.
well, you found out pretty soon when he asked you to listen to a song he liked during lunch one day. he was sitting in front of you while you sat at your desk, and you shut your eyes as he gently placed the earbuds in your ears. you nodded along and he watched your every move, his eyes sparkling because he was staring at the person he now loved the most.
the song was just another love song, but when you opened your eyes and saw Haruto greeting you with heart eyes, it felt different. the voice confessing their love for someone suddenly sounded like Haruto singing for you, and you grew so flustered that you had to rip the earbuds out of your ears.
"what happened, do you not like it?" Haruto asked, worriedly.
"no, no, i just.. earbuds give me a headache," you lied, convincingly.
Haruto nodded with a smile, asking about your real thoughts on the song.
"it's so sweet.. it makes me melt," you said, shyly.
slowly and cautiously, Haruto took your hands in his. your heart started beating faster and you looked around, but no one was watching.
"good, 'cause it's how i feel about you, y/n," Haruto said.
you gulped as your throat felt dry, and you felt like your heart was beating so fast it would burst out your chest. the only thing keeping you grounded was Haruto's hands in yours.
"i like you, y/n. can i be your boyfriend?" he asked, tilting his head to one side.
"say yes!" whispered Yoshi from two seats away, acting like it wasn't him when you glared at him.
you turned instead to Haruto and nodded. he whisked you out of your seat as soon as you did, running hand in hand with you in the hallways.
"i don't know where we're going, but if we end up at the snack bar then everything is on me!" he yelled, his voice cracking.
his wide, box smile made you laugh but his strong grip and the hairs fallen loose from his ponytail made you realize just how hard you'd fallen for him.

midnight rain ☆ pjh
order 063, anon: large coconut milk tea for trsr Jihoon (song = midnight rain by Taylor Swift)
! : fluffy start, angsty middle and open/hopeful ending?! ft. a breakup :(
# : idol!jihoon x office worker!(gn)reader, inspired by Taylor Swift's song
[💌: anon i'm so sorry for taking so long T_T pls enjoy even though idk how much i can defend the quality!!!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
dating an idol is everyone's dream, but no one thinks about it being like this: an idol is someone with a dream and goal, already running straight towards that thing... but you just wanted to be loved. the intentions misaligned and that's why things couldn't work out between you and Jihoon.
when you first met him, he was in front of you in the starbucks line. right away, you could tell he was different. he wore heavy, black boots, patterned jeans with chains that jingled every time he moved the slightest amount, his blazer was also uniquely patterned, and his hair had a slightly blue tint to it.
once you both ordered, you stood to the side to wait for your drinks. he looked attractive even while scrolling through his phone, and you wondered how that could be.
so lost in this boy's appearance, you didn't hear your name even when it was called about four times.
then...
"hey, you were after me in line, right? is that your drink? they're calling your name," the boy told you.
"huh? oh.. yeah," was all you could mumble as you staggered forwards.
but before you knew it, he had picked up the drink for you and was holding it out.
"are you okay?" he asked as you stared at his fingers holding your cup. the silver rings twinkled under the ceiling lights.
"yeah," you said again, taking the drink while squinting at the name written on his own cup.
"Jihoon".
"well, have a good day, then!" Jihoon told you with a smile so gorgeous that even his eyes were part of it.
as you turned to leave, you didn't notice that your wallet fell. you opened the café's door and stepped out while Jihoon eyed the wallet, then your back.
sucking in a breath through his teeth, he picked up your wallet and chased after you.
you had moved so far in such a short amount of time that he was panting when he reached you, a small drop of sweat sliding down his smooth face.
"y/n, you dropped this!" he said while holding out your wallet.
"oh! thank you..." you replied, taking the wallet with both hands.
the tips of Jihoon's ears were red as he said, in a low voice, "well now that i've ran into you for a second time.. can i ask for your number?"
you were shocked that someone this gorgeous would be asking you for your number first, but who were you to say no?!
you switched numbers and just a few hours later, Jihoon was already asking when you'd be free to meet again. he claimed it was destiny that you dropped your wallet, and he couldn't let you slip away.
so, you met up on a friday evening after your long workday. Jihoon listened to you as you complained about work at the office, and he also began to reveal to you that he was an idol.
"can idols.. date?" you asked, worried.
"no.. i mean, i can't right now. so i wanted to tell you, in case you don't want to move forward with this secret relationship."
his painted nails wrapped around the coffee mug in front of him, bringing it to his lips.
"well, Jihoon. you can't just make me fall for you and tell me not to stay," you said with a smile.
and that's how your relationship started.
it was built and upheld by fleeting nights spent chasing after each other in the dark, running to his dorm and him running to your office when you worked late. he'd drop off food and you'd go to his dorm to place kisses all over his soft face. some nights, he'd stay at your place, holding you close and singing you to sleep.
you both formed the most precious, perfect relationship. even if it was all in secret, you were so, completely, and utterly satisfied. content. in love.
but Jihoon started to feel suffocated. he noticed how comfy and safe you were in his presence. he listened as you shared your plans for the future to marry him and have kids with him. he listened and realized.. he didn't want that. what he envisioned when he saw the future was him, treasure, the 12 treasure boys succeeding and making it big. he didn't exactly see himself settled in a house with kids, but he saw himself on stage winning awards.
that's when you started noticing him getting distant. he'd reply to you late and wasn't always there at the dorms or the yg building when you went to see him. when you did get to see him, he was quiet and on his phone. his skin, lips, touch, and hugs felt cold. he felt like a ghost, a skeleton of Jihoon and not the actual Jihoon.
when you were going to confront him about it, he beat you to it. the two of you were sat in the same starbucks that you met, awkwardly holding your half-empty cups as you each waited for the other to speak.
"y/n... i have something to tell you," Jihoon said, softly. his voice sounded warm for the first time in a while.
"okay.."
"i love you a lot, i really do.. but i don't think i see us going any further," he said.
tears were already threatening to leave your precious eyes.
"you want to get married and settle down, but... right now, i just want to be a successful idol. that's all i see for myself right now," Jihoon explained.
you hummed along to his words, looking down and rubbing your thumb along the rim of your starbucks cup.
"how do you feel... about this?" he asked, his voice shaky as he tried to be careful with his words.
"i think i get it, Jihoon. i noticed you were withdrawing yourself from me... it's gonna be really hard but let's end this if that's how you feel," you said, lips wobbling.
unable to look at your now ex any longer, you stood up and left, just like that. and that was the last time you saw Jihoon in-person. it was also the last time you entered that starbucks, since it was the place you both met and lost the most important lover in your life.
Jihoon and the treasure boys did well after you and Jihoon ended things. you always told yourself that maybe it was thanks to the breakup, trying to find ways to console yourself that your tragic end was meant to be. yet you, on the other hand, were still at your 9-5 office job.
you followed treasure an unhealthy amount online, tracking their comebacks and interviews, promotions and schedules. it wasn't even to see Jihoon... or maybe it was, but it was to see how the treasure boys were doing.
on one interview, the boys were asked to talk about the people/things they 'treasure' the most. while many of the boys answered 'teume' and Hyunsuk mentioned his grillz, Jihoon said, "there is someone i'm thinking about right now and i just want to tell them that we'll meet again whenever they decide to step out of their comfort zone and start living the life they want."
your heart beat quickly hearing those words, knowing immediately that they were for you. also, Jihoon was just right. after years of working at the office, trying to convince yourself that this stable life was what you wanted, you started to feel empty inside. really, you wanted to explore your options, discover the world and yourself.
whether it was because of Jihoon's words or your own change of heart, you decided to quit your job. soon after, your most important ex-lover found his way into your life again.
the day you quit your job, you decided to go back into the starbucks where you met Jihoon, even after swearing to never go back there again. and there he was, speak of the devil.
clad in the most simple clothes ever this time, Jihoon waited in line for his order to be taken. and this time, you'd be the one to take action first. you wouldn't wait for him to hand you your drink or chase aftee you with your dropped wallet, but you would take charge of your own destiny.

[💌: hi anon here you are ! i hope this fic can keep you warm on rainy days even tho its short and not that goodjdjdj!! also trust yourself by balming tiger is so good and so true,, ive added it at the bottom heh]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
having a significant other means sharing the good and the bad with them. it means laughing together, crying together, and everything inbetween. yet, having an idol boyfriend is a bit different... at least, it is for you. Jeongwoo is your everything.. so you don't want to hurt him. you close off when you're sad so he won't have to risk his mood being ruined by listening to you vent.
little do you know, his day is ruined when you don't vent. he's your boyfriend, for pete's sake! he gets worried when you close off and he'd rather cry with you than have you shedding tears all alone.
maybe it's because Jeongwoo, and maybe also you, are both so young. maybe you think that he has to be protected because of his young age. maybe it's something else.
Jeongwoo doesn't know.
he rattles his brain in the waiting room for answers after reading and rereading your text to him.
i'm sorry i've been mia, Jeongwoo. things are not so great and i don't want to burden you with that.
why would you be burdening him? why would you think that way?--
"hey, jeongjeong! watchu doin'," Jaehyuk asks Jeongwoo, sliding in beside him on a touch.
"just thinking," Jeongwoo mumbles back.
"about?"
"y/n and how they won't share their sorrows with me because they don't want to burden me."
"ah.. y/n is just really considerate. but i get you.. it's hard to wait so long for a loved one. you don't have to force anything out of them--how about you just do something they love with them to cheer them up?" Jaehyuk explains.
Jeongwoo's eyes light up and he smiles.
"you're right!"
-
"Jeongwoo, 1 minute until camera rehearsals," a staff points out.
"i know! just let me--" Jeongwoo aggressively types out a text to you, telling you to meet him at your favourite café after his schedule is over. he pokes his tongue out as he types, focusing hard.
once it's done, he puts his phone away and joins the other members to prepare to rush on-stage.
meanwhile, you're at home watching the live of the music performance. you've been having such a hard time these days but your boyfriend and his group always make you feel a bit better. treasure are up next and just as they're about to go up, you get a text from Jeongwoo?! isn't he busy right now?!
you read it and smile, knowing that the typos must be from him typing his message to you in such a rush before his stage.
just watching him perform their comeback already fills you with so much joy, so you're giddy as you get changed and rush out to meet your boyfriend at the café. on the way, you hum treasure's songs, walking a little faster than usual and enjoying the warm breeze.
Jeongwoo is already there, still slightly sweaty and makeup+hair still intact as he smiles in your direction.
"y/n!" he stands up, grinning at the sight of you.
you're gorgeous despite your tired frame, and he's so happy to see you that his knees start feeling weak. you feel shy as you run up to hug him, butterflies filling you as his arms wrap around you. his hug is warm and his scent is like home.
"take a seat, i got you your favourite drink," he says, pushing the cup towards you.
you take it and drink, relaxing even more. the two of you are seated by the window and you briefly glance outside, watching as couples walk together.
"what's the occasion, Jeongjeong?" you ask.
"well... i know things haven't been so amazing for you lately. i just wanted to meet you in person to tell you that i love you and i'm rooting for you," he says, only meeting your eyes after he's done talking. he doesn't want to make you feel worse.
the effort he's made for you makes your heart ache, but in the best way possible.
"if you want to talk to me, i'm here. if not, i'm still here. i'll wait for you. and.. i just want you to trust yourself, no matter what's happening. please know.. it's okay to not be alright, and that things will be alright eventually. just take your time, everything will fall into place!"
you have to fight back tears as you reach for Jeongwoo's hands, giving them a big squeeze.
"i really needed to hear that, Jeongwoo. thank you," you say.
Jeongwoo's own lips wobble as he watches you get emotional, and he stares at the ceiling to stop himself from crying.
"hey, you big crybaby! don't cry because of me, i'll get sad.." you whine.
"i'm not crying!" he says, as his lips quiver more intensely.
you laugh, stroking his soft hair and caressing his cheek.
"i just love you, y/n. i won't let this world hurt you, ever." his eyes sparkle as he speaks to you and your heart is filled with warmth.
in that moment you realize that no matter what happens, you can overcome it, because you'll always have at least once person rooting for you.
and one of those people will always be me, dear reader. me, milky. ♡

Teume Cafe: Yedam ending: Sereni-tea
Tumblr media
masterlist
written by milky ^_^
-
you spend every single day of your finals studying at the Teume café, and you swear it's not on purpose, but you always find yourself there when Yedam is working.. what a coincidence!
he always brings you a new drink to try, always with a saucer so you don't spill your drinks over your notes.
"i think you'll like this one. based on your reviews of all the drinks i've given you this past few days, this time of flavour seems to match your taste. it's a flavoured tea latte this time!" he tells you one day as he sets another drink down.
his grin makes you dizzy and you smile awkwardly at him as you take a sip.
"it's really good," you say.
you watch Yedam try to hold in his laughter. his eyes gloss over as he tears up while doing so.
"huh?" you ask.
"you've got foam on your lips..." he says quietly, right away wiping it off with his thumb. he slips the thumb into his mouth, and the way he does everything so naturally gives you butterflies.
at this point, you have no more doubts. Yedam is definitely flirting with you.
at first, you thought he was just some kind of playboy, but you've noticed he only acts this way with you. while he throws brief smiles and speaks warmly to other customers, his winks, grins, and him literally touching your lips are not things he does with other people.
you even talked about it with Haruto the other day. yes, Haruto! you finally got to meet the café's pretty boy, and he's actually a great listener.
he told you that, just between you and Haruto, Yedam definitely feels some type of way about you.
"he knows what time you'll come in so he always makes sure the spot you usually sit at is clean, and that your favourite songs are playing. nothing is by chance when you walk into the café anymore. he does everything for you."
thinking about Haruto's words makes you shiver, not in a bad way but because you're so overwhelmed with Yedam'a attention to detail.. and again, overwhelmed in a good way.
"are you cold? should i lower the ac?" Yedam asks immediately, worry flooding his face.
"no, no!" you say, trying to explain that your shiver didn't mean anything.
yet, before you know it, Yedam's jacket is hanging on your shoulders.
"oh.." you say.
"don't catch a cold while you study, y/n," Yedam tells you, going back behind the counter.
-
you manage to get some studying done despite being lost in your thoughts about Yedam and his flirting. once you decide you should take a study break, you lean back in your chair and stretch, then standing up to talk to Yedam for a bit to pass the time.
"how's it going?" he asks while wiping the counter.
"pretty good! i've been getting a lot done.. i actually feel ready for my exams!"
Yedam smiles and it feels like the sun is shining.
"i'm so glad.. you've been working so hard!" he says.
suddenly, he stops wiping and his expression turns more serious. he looks at the counrer as he tells you, "after your exams are done, will you agree to do something with me?"
"do what?" you ask.
"go on a date," Yedam replies, shyly for someone who's been nonstop flirting with you.
"oh.. i'd actually like that!" you say.
Yedam smiles, a blush coating his cheeks.
"just tell me when your last exam is. i can pick you up and we'll go eat something good together," he says.

Teume Cafe Part 2: I think I like you a latte
Tumblr media
masterlist !
written by milky :]
_♡_
That night, you decide it’s time to stay up, stay awake, and grind it out for finals. The mocha you had was still keeping you awake (was it the mocha or was it Mashiho and the Teume cafe?) so you took that as a sign to get to work.
You have everything laid out. Your book, your notes, your pens, your laptop. You even have a random episode of Racket Boys playing--hearing the soundtrack and the characters’ voices is somehow your white noise for studying.
So you’re ready! You’re all set!! So… why isn’t it working? You stare at the words on your notes and your vision blurs, your mouth hangs open and your mind goes right back to the Teume cafe. Mashiho and his gorgeous hair...no! You have to study. But, you’re so curious. You want to meet Haruto to judge for yourself if he deserves the Cafe Prince award. And who was Yedam, hiding in the shadows?
This wasn’t going to work.
You get up, pack your things and head to the Teume Cafe. Heck, if you were going to spend your precious study time thinking about the café, then might as well just head there. You check their hours online first, and seeing they’re open late, you sigh in relief before continuing on your journey.
When you get there, you’re suddenly nervous. You can see inside--someone else is at the counter instead of Mashiho, but his silhouette looks familiar. Yedam?
Your curiosity overtakes your nervousness and you storm inside.
“Welcome to Teume Cafe--oh! Weren’t you here earlier today?” Yedam asks.
Gosh, the way he grins at you, the way his soft locks are falling into his eyes has you feeling dizzy. Why is every worker here so damn pretty?
“I was… and you must be Yedam,” you say, somewhat shyly.
Yedam’s cheeks are dusted pink as he replies, “either you saw me this morning, too, or you’re just reading my name tag.”
“Name tag? Oh, I didn’t even see it!”
Yedam laughs, leaning against the counter.
“So, what can I get for you? Another mocha?”
Your heart races. He remembered your order?! Even while he was sat in the corner when you came in?
“A-actually.. I think I’m down to try something else,” you say, “something that pairs well with the strawberry creme scone.”
“I’d suggest a nutella latte! It’ll be like having nutella and strawberries,” Yedam explains.
You nod, “I’ll try it!”
Yedam punches in the order and fetches the scone for you, neatly placing it on a plate.
“Just be careful with how much coffee you have in a day,” he says sweetly, pushing the scone towards you.
“Are you seriously concerned about me right now?” you ask in disbelief.
Yedam shrugs.
“As much as you want to come see us, one cup of coffee a day should be the max. If you come more than once, get a tea or smoothie the second time!”
“You’re the one who suggested the nutella latte,” you say, playfully squinting at the boy who hasn’t stopped smiling at you.
“You’re the one who asked for suggestions to pair with the scone… and you didn’t have to get a latte!” Yedam points out, tilting his head to one side.
You shake your head at the boy and go take a seat, pulling out your notes.
“If you’re here to study, I’ll be your DJ for the night!” Yedam calls from behind the counter as he makes your drink.
Suddenly, the music changes to something calmer, something easy to study to. You’re so focused on your notes that you don’t hear Yedam calling out to you with your order. He brings it to you and you stare at the latte art--is it a heart or are you hallucinating?
“Good luck!” he tells you with a smile.
As you study, Yedam cleans up and shuts off the machines, but not once does he tell you to leave because they’re closing. Even when an hour has passed since they’re closing time, he sits there, headphones on and stealing glances at you every now and then. He only approaches you to wake you up once you’ve fallen asleep, telling you to go home.
He only closes the Teume cafe after he sees you’ve safely left.

Teume Cafe: Mashiho Ending: Meant to Bean

Throughout the last few weeks you’ve been going into the cafe more and more. Before class, after, sometimes even during free periods. You still had yet to meet Haruto (apparently he only worked on weekends) but you’d met the manager, Yoshi, and he was just as beautiful as the other boys.
You two had only talked twice, and you’d convinced yourself he was a skater boy underneath the coffee shop uniform. Other than that time, you'd talked more in depth with Mashiho and Yedam, getting to know them, their aspirations, and their personalities.
There had been a few things you expected, such as Yedam majoring in music, but some surprises as well. Apparently, Mashiho had appeared in a music video for a band called AKMU. You began to really like their company, and they were no longer just stress relievers, they were your friends.
There was just- something about Mashiho though. Something about his smile sent shock waves of security and calmness through your veins.
It was like a steroidal version of when you’d been dating the soccer captain at your high school, Jihoon. Except this time, you could see a future with him, and you highly doubted Mashiho was the type to ghost you.
Sighing heavily, you realized you were falling for him.
“Is everything okay?” a deep voice cuts through your thought process (aka thought train wreck.)
Looking up, you made eye contact with a boy with a blonde mullet and deep brown eyes. He seemed both intimidating and kind at the same time. Coupled with his looks, you put the two and two together.
“Haruto, I presume?” you raised an eyebrow at him and he gave you a quizzical smile.
“How do you know?”
“You’re almost a household name at this point.” You joke, and then tell him that Mashiho and Yedam talked about him a lot.
“Ah. So then you must be the person that Mashiho keeps going on about.” He winked and handed you a cookie.
You blushed, whether because Mashiho had been mentioning you or because he winked at you, you aren't sure.
“You know, Mashiho’s really shyer than he seems,” He commented. He opened his mouth to continue, but Mashiho walked out of the back before he could continue, and he whisks himself away.
“Hi!” Mashiho came over to you, peeking into the almost empty cup.
“Wow, you must really like that one. It’s my favorite, so i understand.”
You glanced over at Haruto (who conveniently was cleaning the counter beside you) and took a risk. “I guess we have a lot in common! It’s like we’re meant to bean.”

after months of dating Jihoon and never getting to spend a single night together, you decided to treat yourselves to a night at a hotel.
when you walk into the hotel room, you find Jihoon already on the bed, marvelling at the room.
"finally, a night with just the two of us together in our own space. y/n! i'm so happyyyyy," he says to himself, kicking his feet around and giggling.
you suddenly feel a wave of emotion, wanting to run up to him and smother him with your love.
you walk up to him and push Jihoon down onto the bed. he laughs, feeling his heart race in his chest. a blush creeps up on his cheeks and his pretty teeth show as he smiles. carefully, you smooth the hair out of his eyes and he leans into your touch.
"w-what are you up to, y/n?" he stutters.
"kisses," you mumble, placing your legs on either side of him and hovering above him as he lays on his back.
you lean in forwards, pressing hard kisses to his forehead, cheeks, the tip of his nose, his lips, his collarbone. each time, your lips make a loud, smacking sound and the boy beneath you giggles.
your hands find his and you interlock fingers as he waves your hands around on the bed, staring into your eyes.
"kiss my lips again, lovely, i dare you," Jihoon mutters in a low tone.
you let your lips meet slowly and let the kiss linger, enjoying the way Jihoon brings a hand to gently rest on the back of your neck so he can slightly deepen the kiss. the way you gasp into his lips makes him smile.
when you pull away, he smiles and then giggles, pinching your cheeks and kissing your nose.
"i love you i love you i love you y/n."
"i love you even more than that, Jihoon."
he pulls you on top of him to hug you, letting you rest your head on his chest as he strokes the back of your head.
"my angel, you are," he says quietly to himself.
you can smell his cologne and just barely hear his heartbeat. his arms feel strong around you and you love how warm he makes you feel. finally getting to comfortably cuddle like this makes you so happy.
"Hoon-ah," you call out.
Jihoon responds with a hum.
"i'm so happy..."
he presses a kiss to your temple, somehow holding you closer.
"as you deserve to be, angel. i'm so glad," he replies.
"what shall we do today? it's only 3pm!" you point out.
"mmmm," Jihoon hums into your hair, your sweet scent making him dizzy so he's unable to focus.
"can we just stay here forever..." he mum
bles, still stroking the back of your head.
"okay," you agree, propping yourself up with your arms on either side of Jihoon's body.
he peers at you from beneath you, wondering what you're doing as you delicate trace his features with the tip of your finger.
his cheekbones, his nose, his eyebrows, his forehead, his jawline, his chin, his lips. he kisses your finger when you touch them, staring into your eyes.
"i wanna go to the beach," you suddenly say.
the sparkle in your eyes is irresistable, and Jihoon soon finds himself holding your hand as you take the hotel elevator down to the lobby, wearing bathing suits under your clothes.
you and Jihoon had purposely gotten a hotel by the water so that you could get some beach time in, so there's no way you'd skip this.
the two of you exit the hotel hand-in-hand and start running to the beach just across the street. the sand hitting your toes makes you squeal and Jihoon laughs, squeezing your hand as you draw closer to the water. you already know Jihoon will tease the hell out of you and nearly push you in, so instead, you run up behind him and push him in first.
Jihoon stumbles in the sand and falls into the water, laughing as he pulls his hair out of his eyes.
"i can't be having this much fun alone, y/n," he says in a deep voice, getting up and walking over to you. he wraps his cool, wet arms around your warm ones and pulls you closer with a smirk. he kisses your nose before throwing you into the water with him, yet making sure he's behind you so he ends up getting wet and you simply fall on top of him.
you slap his chest lightly and whine, telling him to never do that again even though the way his strong arms caught you made you feel butterflies. he kisses your face, now salty from the water and smiles up at you from below. the way the water droplets on your skin and hair reflect the sun's light makes you seem like a mystical sea creature, and Jihoon admired you with a grin until you shyly tell him to stop staring.
"i can stare at the love of my life all i want, thanks," Jihoon says, brushing the hair out of your eyes.
you take hold of his strong forearms, wrapped around your waist, as you lean in to kiss your pretty boyfriend's forehead. he shuts his eyes and enjoys the feeling of your warmth, the sound of the sea and the gentle breeze that makes him shiver.
