When I first heard this song back in 2019, I immediately thought of Ben Solo never feeling enough for Rey. I understood the feeling of yearning and thoughts of “Am I enough?” for a particular person. Looking back, Reylo has really helped me figure my own self and my own mess of feelings I had as a young adult.

I’ve been really into Matt Maeson lately and his music gives me Reylo vibes. (Please don’t hate me, but I really love Reylo 🥺) I love the Enemies to Lovers trope, as well as, the Bad Boys And Their Good Girls Who Can Kick Their Asses. I just really like the dichotomy of Good vs. Evil and in the more recent Star Wars movies, making characters more grey, rather than black and white. I love the idea of both of them coming together and becoming Grey Jedi. Also, Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo are my favorites so I really like drawing both of them, individually or together.

There's something about seeing Rose depicted prominently on TRoS comic promo which is almost as frustrating as how squirrelled away she was on that of the movie

So, the official SW UK Twitter account just mentioned Reylo today and referred to them as the Dyad, followed by "watch TROS on Disney Plus UK". It has people automatically going "oh you know what that means!!". And I'm like sigh they do this every single time a book is about to drop and The Hurricane Wars is dropping approximately next Tuesday. They're just stalling as usual. I really would wish people would stop assuming that these are "crumbs". Especially from the UK SW account, they had the audacity to compare Rey's mum to Shmi. I mean WTF???

I think if we learned anything from comparing the regional twitter accounts during tros promo, we should have learnt that DLF runs a shockingly loose ship and there is little, if any, coordination involved in their social media presence.

Trying to capitalise on some free publicity is not a sign of a master plan. There's no plan and nothing means anything, they could not possibly have made this more clear.

A lot of ppl are saying how mondo gecko is so cool and that he gets really great w mikey! (which we can see in a lot of clips)

What if the whole group that mondo gecko is in betrayes the turtles?(I forgot the name of the group-)

I mean, from what I've seen in clips; it's not a bad guess to think that humans find out about the turtles

But, I've figured something out; yk how in earlier versions of tmnt mikey would get betrayed by mondo (I'm not sure is it in every version but I know for sure in the 87' version and 2012 version)

okok here's mine. before that, I blame the marketing people for this movie since they pretty much spoiled some parts.

you're probably right about Mondo betraying the turtles or at least standing on a different side from them, considering his association with Superfly.

the promos clearly show a big monster attacking the city, suggesting that Superfly might have been double-mutated. but In another promo, Mondo and the rest of the mutants (excluding Superfly) are seen teaming up.

so, my guess is that Mondo probably did betray the turtles at some point but changed his mind since he didn't like whatever Superfly's motive is.

Hopefully it's okay to ask you a question because I'm wondering do you know why Gamora hasn't been included in the vol 3 merch? I ran across some stuff a while ago and when she wasn't included I assumed it was just a one off incident. But I just ran across some other merch and she's still absent. So I'm not sure if they are waiting for the movie to create merch for her or what

Firstly, it's always okay to ask me questions about this stuff! I love talking about film marketing (I did study this stuff for 2 years after all). Always feel free to send me asks about anything!

As for your question here's my honest answer: I'm not entirely sure. There are a few logical conclusions though.

Spoilers. Historically the first wave of MCU merch is very clean when it comes to the events of the movie, only featuring characters we know will be in it and vague aesthetics that align with the plot. So far the main advertisements and merch for Vol 3 have featured the Guardians in their comic-accurate group suits, which we haven't seen Gamora in. She might end up getting that suit in the movie, but we have no idea and that would be a major spoiler, so it's easier to leave her out of cereal box promotions and toy box art to keep that unified aesthetic.

Along the same lines as spoilers but deserving of their own point is the LEGO sets. LEGO sets are 50/50 when it comes to being accurate to the events of the movie because again, spoilers. The Endgame sets they released to go along with the movie had absolutely nothing to do with the actual plot because sets get leaked so often and Disney didn't want the plot of their biggest superhero movie ever to be ruined. The Wakanda Forever and Multiverse of Madness sets were also pretty vague if I remember correctly. It's easiest to leave Gamora out of sets like the Guardians HQ or the Bowie because while she might actually be in those scenes, we won't know until the movie comes out (we can assume she'll be on the Bowie at one point based on that shot of her pulling out a knife but it's not official). Since the LEGO sets and toy lines release weeks before the movies, it's again easier to exclude Gamora from these first waves of merch.

The historically bad representation of Gamora on merch already. Outside of figures like Funko Pops and Marvel Legends, it's always been nearly impossible to find officially licensed merch of just Gamora, especially cute good looking merch. This has also been an issue with most of the MCU's female heroes but it's definitely gotten better these past few years. Unfortunately due to Gamora's role in Vol 3 being pretty secretive, that positive change doesn't get to apply to her this first wave.

So basically TL;DR, don't stress about this too much. We're still 2 months out from the movie's release and a month away from promo and press starting. Yes, it sucks that so far Gamora isn't being featured in anything outside of posters and trailers, and yes it's valid to be upset and frustrated with that. But remember that there's still a whole other wave of merch to come after the movie's release, and Zoe Saldaña is still second-billed. She and Chris Pratt were the last two (humans) to wrap the movie. James Gunn wouldn't have brought Gamora back if he didn't want to. If you're still feeling uneasy or worried (which I totally get!) @enigma731 has some great posts about why Gamora will be fine.

Sorry this is so damn long, I kinda got carried away lol. But yeah I do wish there was at least like a Funko Pop or something and find it ridiculous that Kraglin of all people is getting more merch than the female lead, but I'm personally not getting too worried right now because we still have two months until the movie. It's not looking completely terrible right now. (Trust me, I was a Star Wars sequels stan during 2019 TROS press. That movie's plot was leaked via an official German Burger King ad. If it ever gets that bad for Vol 3 you will definitely hear about it from me lol).

Join Art Simone for Kick Ons after Drag Race Down Under

With a new season of Drag Race Down Under comes a new season of our favourite recap show Kick Ons. We were lucky enough to join Art Simone and Mum the Drag Queen behind the scenes of the brand new season.

“We are now on our third season of Kick Ons,” Mum told us about the long-running companion series celebrating Down Under drag.

“Kick Ons would have started alongside season one of Down Under. But with Art on the show, competitors couldn’t make recaps.”

The team made the YouTube series Art Therapy during DRDU’s first season instead.

But this wasn’t the first time the production team of Art, Mum and Lazy Susan had worked together.

They made the WOW Presents Plus series Highway to Heel after they met on an AAMI ad campaign.

“The response to season one of Down Under wasn’t what it should have been,” Mum said.

“There wasn’t the love or appreciation of down under drag. We decided with season two to put our spin on the YouTube series The Pit Stop.”

Art said, “We were doing it our way while also highlighting guests from the local community.

“When we started, we were prepared for negativity or a small viewership, even some hate.

“But when you look at the comments section of the episodes, there’s so much positivity, joy and excitement.”

Mum laughs, “People engage in Drag Race in the way that they’ve been taught, which means critiquing.

“Many people online don’t have the literacy to know what’s a read and what’s just you being a dickhead.”

Art adds, “That is why we put the disclaimer in each episode. We do this because we love drag, and down under drag in particular.”

Kick Ons Lazy Susan is on season four

The trio have been working together for years, but that’s changed with Lazy Susan in the latest season of Drag Race Down Under, which started on Friday.

To keep it a completely drag-made production, Fembot XYZ has stepped on board to edit the episodes.

“We literally are a three-person team with the help of our tradie of the season, Tro,” Mum said.

“When guests walk up the rickety stairs to our beautiful pink shed, they’re often shocked that all the work is done by a small group of people.”

“Lazy is the filmmaker, so this season’s a crash course for me. We’ve been clear this year that she’s not part of the production.”

Bring on Season 4 of Drag Race Down Under

Kick Ons is pure love and dedication for drag, as they film sitting on milk crates for a couple of hours.

“With Art at the helm, we have always had a deep respect for the work that goes into Drag Race,” Mum said.

“The show isn’t just about making fun of everything. Michelle Visage and Art have a great relationship and she even commented on our Kick Ons promo video.

“We’re so excited for her as new host of Down Under this season.”

Art said, “We have a beautiful relationship with [streaming service] Stan, who are really supportive of Kick Ons.

Art will be jet-setting from performing her award-winning comedy Fountain Lakes in Lockdown around Australia to the pink shed each week.

“We want to support DRDU and help it rise because it doesn’t get the juice that it deserves at all,” Art said.

“It’s great Kick Ons exists to remind and explain to people why it should be celebrated. But we are completely independent.

Mum said, “Kick Ons relies on Patreon and sponsorships to keep it rolling, so if anyone’s keen to get an ad in the show we’d love to chat!”

What with the whole Death Star, Lando Cameo-rissian, bringing back Palpatine, the fuckin Force Ghosts of Jedi like Anakin and Ashoka telling Rey how cool she is, killing Palpatine by reflecting his lighting back at him, using the fucking Prequels as half of the promo trailer for TRoS...

I just thought JJ was trying to hammer in the "POE IS THE HAN SOLO ANALOGUE OF THIS TRILOGY" in the film by making him a former spice trader. Which is a Thing Han Did in the OT.

On the topic of racism and Star Wars, I did find it funny how Quinton Reviews saw Janna and her group as only being [black people] because "JJ was too SPINELESS to use EWOKS." Which led to the EFAP meme of "What Up My Ewoks!"

I swear, the number of "Lefty" reviewers who slip and circle around to saying horrifically racistOH FUCK THAT JUST REMINDED ME OF THIS GEM:

Oh boy, let's see… gotta dig through my bookmark folder.

Most of my favorites were written before TROS, so are canon divergent either from TFA or TLJ. Also, I tend to prefer loooong canon universe fics, so that's mostly what I have bookmarked.

Also also, I've always been in camp "Kylo is secretly a big softy" even when the fandom was pretty strongly divided about that, so most (though not all) of my favorite fics lean that way.

First, I recommend anything by diasterisms. She's amazing. Her most popular fic has been taken down because it's about to be published as an original novel series (The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon), but her other ones are still up. My favorite is Sword of the Jedi, but if you want something set after TROS, there's I Kill Giants.

Next, the self promo: I wrote one reylo fic after each movie (or in one case, a 3-part fic trilogy), which are here on my ao3. (my favorite is still my first one, though, One Lone Candle.)

Forms was one of the first Reylo fics posted after TFA and still holds up.

If you want a real bittersweet tear-jerker (with a happy ending), there's Starstuff.

There's also this amazing TROS fixit comic this artist has been working on for years. you'll have to scroll down through her archive to find the start (I think it's May 2020) and find your way around the reposts, but it's worth it. Her art in general is fantastic.
