*Mermaid Laura falls epically*

So there's a lot of lore in the Fae au with Laura right now, like literal biological reasons why she was a candidate for queen, as well as mermaid characteristics and culture by my own, but let's start with the basics!

Actually this is just' my Infodumb about sirens :p

•So, essentially, mermaids have two modes, one of them is the beast that stares into your soul in the deepest part of the water

and the other is the family friendly form which is a transformation, mainly to get closer to the surface without Let everything explode into chaos. The two forms reflect each other only the characteristics of the species, so Laura can still have her ego with being called pretty

• Statistically (as statistically as imaginary mermaid sightings in precure could be) humans have only encountered female mermaids, but in fact, most Those were male. It's just that the physiology of mermaids tends to be a little different from female to male. The male still has mammaries that evolved to be a pseudo water sac to expel a jet through its gills and obtain greater swimming speed. While the female ones lack these, because they focused on strengthening their abdominal area to reduce any potential damage that a baby may receive from the outside. •Mermaid children have spurs on their hands, these are like baby teeth and they fall out once they turn 10 years old. They usually hold onto their mothers' fins with these more safely to avoid falling at high speeds and hold on in dangerous situations.

Children who are candidates for royalty, in compensation for having more fins(yes, in fact it is a mutation), do not have the space in their systems to have these dewclaws

The important thing here is the queen, finding a very small Laura, so small that she currently does not remember that

(she doesn't even remember that she never had those dewclaws and that there were parents who could never find her back)
