I think Gothmog probably has a collection of trophies he’s taken from his victims. He seems very much to thrive on the terror and intimidation he wields as one of the most prominent faces of Angband’s armies and the stories of his deeds rival those of Sauron’s. Some of these items are from well known figures (a torn and bloodstained banner of Fëanor, a melted dagger from one of Maedhros’s guards, the helm of Maedhros himself, the broken shield of Fingon cast aside when he was struck, and a few dented pieces of Húrin’s armor). Much of it though would be unrecognizable to most historians of Beleriand, comprising an assortment of armor, weapons and other personal effects from countless elves and humans and dwarves. Some of it he warps into his own battle armor to face his enemies bolstered by the fragments of their fallen kin.
