Hi! We are not currently active. My co-mod and I haven’t really been in touch for a while, and neither of us have time at the moment to moderate this community. Sorry about that - we probably should have made an announcement.

First off, I’ve never charged for commissions before, all writing I have ever done has been for free, or for fun. It’s what I’ve spent most of my free time doing over the last few months and I wanted to try and get some more experience with doing it in a more serious way. 

I am very happy to write original characters and concepts, in fact I consider myself better with that than working with existing characters. Fandom’s I am willing to write are - Marvel, any ship within reason, Miraculous Ladybug, Pokemon, Rwby, Omegaverse, Au’s, and more. If you’re curious, please feel free to just ask.

As far as smut is concerned, I am perfectly happy to write it, and I have practically no limits, feel free to ask for anything, but I retain the right to say no if I find it particularly bad.

I don’t currently have an example of my writing but I plan on posting one soon to my tumblr and AO3 when I have time

I am currently accepting writing commissions. I am comfortable writing both fan-fiction and original fiction. I have been writing off and on for over a decade now, mostly short stories. The original fiction genres I am most comfortable writing are science fiction, fantasy, and comedy.

If you do not see a fandom listed, feel free to ask about it! I will give you an honest answer on whether or not I feel comfortable writing in that fandom/canon.

My pricing structure is as follows:

$0.01 (one cent) per word, minimum of $5. (For example, a 400-word commission will cost $5 as will a 500-word commission. A 2,000-word commission will cost $20, a 10,000-word commission $100, and so on.)

I have a maximum length limit of 20,000 words per commission. This is mostly due to scheduling restrictions I must deal with.

Payment will be done through PayPal. A up-front initial fee will be requested, with final payment due upon completion of work. Partial payment may be requested for commissions cancelled in-progress.

Subject matter I do not feel comfortable writing about include, but may not be limited to; rape, incest, pedophilia, and abuse.

Subject matter I am okay with writing include violence, gore, and (if you the commissioner are over the age of 18) smut.

Hi there! I'm a young writer working on my first novel, and would love the opportunity to stretch my creative muscles on smaller projects on the side. Having flicked through the other users advertising writing commissions, I am sorely tempt to try my hand at it, and was wondering how many responses new writers typically get. Nerdy Writer Seeks Nerdy Work

Hello! Need things written? I’m willing to trade words for money!

If what you’re looking for isn’t listed, drop me a line through Tumblr or at wakingdreamland@gmail.com and tell me what you want written so we can see if it can be worked out.

I’m building up sample references, so some categories have links to examples. Characters depicted are the property of their owners, and everything else is mine.

Pricing: For writing, I charge by word-count; $10 per 1000 words. For proof-reading or any game setting that requires research, there will be a charge of $7 per hour of research required.

Fantasy settings for games – These can be as simple as intricate descriptions of areas to paint a picture for your gaming group, or as complex as full world-building with NPCs and story-seeds. Customized modules designed for your gamers can be written for your group’s specific needs. If you just want NPCs generated to populate your world, I can do any of the World of Darkness games, Dungeons and Dragons (or similar fantasy RPGs) from 2nd Edition through 5E, and I’d also be willing to tackle settings for Warhammer 40k, Wheel of Time, Dragonriders of Pern, Heralds of Valdemar, Call of Cthulu, and Shadowrun.

Character Bios – I can write up descriptions with little plot or first-meeting hooks thrown in for your RPG character, to link on forums or include on Role-Playing mods in-game. These can be as simple or elaborate as you like. I can also write up exceedingly detailed character descriptions and package them with fair-use body reference images for you to refer commissioned artists to.

Stories – Because that’s a huge part of what writing is about! My genres of choice are fantasy, science fiction, horror, and supernatural romance*. I am rarely comfortable writing for canon characters, though depending on the scenario, I might consider it, but I’m happy to write stories in a specific setting. Any of the settings listed above can be available, and if what you want isn’t listed, let me know and we’ll see what I can do. Have a character without a background? I can write those! Simple or elaborate, I can give your character a story to match their sheet, theme, or setting.

Writing 101 – Having trouble with an essay? With a look at the syllabus and the instructions from the teacher, I can write up a sample of what they’ll be looking for, and even break it down so you can see all the steps, complete with non-internet references. (I cannot promise to do this with every possible topic out there; this can only be offered on a case-by-case basis.)

Proofreading – I know there are a lot of writers out there. For classes, for fun, for work, for friends; there are just gigantic heaps of writing waiting to be read. I can proofread your material for clarity, grammar, and punctuation, and help with MLA and APA source citation for just about any topic. I’m also happy to add critiques and suggestions. Pricing will be $7 per hour spent on the project.

Pricing Policy

Hello everybody! Sorry for the quiet - the mods have been very distracted with their own work, and mostly publishing what we can.

A quick note - I’ve been messaging people individually about this for a while, but it’s worth making a post about - we will not publish commission sheets advertising less than 10 USD per 1k. There’s a lot of reasons for this, but essentially, the gap between pro-rate writing and commission writing is far too wide, and while we can’t do much to close it, we can encourage writers to charge more. We’re not a regulated industry, but we can keep each other in check and try to establish a minimum wage that way.

Why won’t we publish sheets with the low prices? Because the low prices will get all the business, basically, and not only does that cut a lot of people out, it puts a lot of stress on people who are (often unknowingly!) undercharging, who suddenly are writing thousands of words for pocket change.

Beyond that lower limit, we won’t limit your prices at all! The only other reason we don’t publish sheets is if your guidelines are homophobic/racist/rude, etc.

PoV preference? 3rd person preferred but I don’t mind stepping out of my comfort zone. 2nd person is my most challenging PoV.

Is there anything I won’t do? For shipping: No incest. No excessive age gaps (15+ years if both characters are 25+ otherwise 5+ years). I will not do reader insert ship or porn.

Hi, I’m a passionate writer and I’ve been writing for years. I’ve decided to open up for commissions to challenge myself, and because I can’t currently keep a job due to anxiety.
