this season of rings of power has definitely confirmed me that halbrand sauron did not have a big overarching plan for the whole season and was just seeing where life would take him because he seemed extremely laid back and chill compared to annatar sauron, who has a 600 step plan for world domination and looks like he's about 5 seconds from telepathically exploding people with his mind whenever they disagree with him

See i always thought TROP went the Elrond is sunshine and daisies route but then they surprised me with No This Is A Petty King and I went hell yeah!!

Like wdym he went and shouted at Galadriel and fucked off into a waterfall (should not have been surprised. It’s in his ancestry to do as such) and then quite literally tattled to Círdan like a child that Heyyyy your little shit of an adopted son— i mean High King— is making a terrible decision because they Refuse To Listen To Me.

And then the rest of the show is just his life Falling Apart™ and going I F*cking Told You So, and being genuinely petty about it to literally everyone (Read: Galadriel), and then going into war serving lethal face card and swordsmanship, and proceeding to go absolutely feral in defending literary scrolls that he’d literally offer His AND Gil-Galad his HIGH KING’s life in exchange for it.

Like yeah I fear this is indeed accurate to Elrond Peredhel descending into madness over everyone’s stupidity. Curly haired, young, feral ankle-biter Elrond Peredhel aka THE Half-Elf.
