Na vanguarda da Educação Superior no Brasil, o Centro Universitário de Brasília (CEUB) se destaca também pelo legado social. O compromisso da instituição com a responsabilidade social se manifesta em projetos de extensão e voluntariado com grande impacto na sociedade. Na prática, o CEUB oferece, de forma gratuita, ações e serviços que englobam as áreas de educação, saúde, assistência social e jurídica, cidadania, meio ambiente, entre outras. Mais de 20 mil pessoas já foram beneficiadas pelas campanhas nas últimas duas décadas. Esse tipo de atividade de extensão é ofertada por meio de projetos integrados que estimulam a participação de professores e alunos com atividades multidisciplinares desenvolvidas ao longo do ano. À frente dos projetos de extensão do CEUB, a Assessora de Extensão e Integração Comunitária, Renata Bittencourt, ressalta a importância da iniciativa para a formação dos alunos: “Essa mobilização fortalece a gestão democrática, promove a ampliação do intercâmbio de ideias, reflexões e experiências entre alunos, valorizando a representação estudantil”. Conheça alguns dos projetos apoiados pelo CEUB: Promovida O CEUB desempenha papel fundamental nas atividades de extensão promovidas pela Promovida, organização criada em 1998 em resposta à observação de um grupo de crianças de rua em São Sebastião. O apoio do Centro Universitário inclui a campanha permanente de apadrinhamento e a colaboração das graduações, como Nutrição, Administração e Contabilidade, Enfermagem, Engenharia e Publicidade e Marketing. Os cursos contribuem para a melhoria da atuação da Promovida, oferecendo consultoria, projetos e ações específicas relacionadas às suas áreas de estudo. O CEUB também promove a educação em saúde aos assistidos por meio de atividades desenvolvidas por acadêmicos de diferentes áreas, como Psicologia, Biomedicina, Educação Física e Enfermagem, voltadas à conscientização sobre o bem-estar das crianças, adolescentes e adultos. Morada de Luz Organizado pela professora de Arquitetura e Urbanismo Ludmila Correia, o projeto é um exemplo de como a arquitetura e o urbanismo podem ser usados para criar moradias sustentáveis. Por meio do Coletivo Arquitetura Social, ex-alunos do CEUB capacitam a comunidade para construir as próprias moradias de forma econômica e ecologicamente consciente, por meio da bioconstrução com uso de materiais naturais e técnicas acessíveis. “Para que a sustentabilidade seja efetiva, é fundamental que todas as pessoas, incluindo aquelas em situação de pobreza, tenham acesso a ela”, afirma Ludmila Correia. IA otimiza protocolos médicos em UTI Alunos de Engenharia do CEUB estão desenvolvendo algoritmo que permitirá o uso mais racional de antibióticos administrados na UTI, a partir da aplicação de Inteligência Artificial e da análise de dados reais. A ação é fruto de parceria com o Instituto de Gestão Estratégica de Saúde do Distrito Federal (IGES DF) e atende o Hospital de Base (DF). "A aplicação da Inteligência Artificial na área da saúde permite elaborar uma solução para desafios relacionados ao uso de antibióticos na UTI," afirma Maruska Bueno, coordenadora dos cursos de Engenharia do CEUB. Tronik e Instituto Entre Nós O CEUB contribui para a arrecadação de resíduos eletrônicos para empresas e organizações comprometidas com ações sustentáveis, como a Tronik e a ONG Instituto Entre Nós. Além de garantir a destinação adequada desses materiais, a iniciativa oferece oportunidades de trabalho para a população local. Presente em estande fixo nas ações do CEUB, a Tronik esclarece dúvidas dos alunos e professores sobre a destinação correta de lixos eletrônicos. Desde o início da parceria, já foram arrecadadas quatro toneladas de resíduos eletrônicos. Parte dos resíduos eletrônicos doados pelo CEUB foram destinados ao Instituto Entre Nós, que acolhe mulheres vulneráveis de Planaltina (DF). Elas transformam os materiais em utilitários e peças de artesanato, vendidos a partir de R$10. “Apoiamos

o empreendedorismo com responsabilidade socioambiental e damos oportunidade para a comunidade conhecer e valorizar a cultura, a arte e meio ambiente local”, explica a coordenadora de Ciências Biológicas, Andreia Libano, que está à frente das assessorias de inovação do CEUB.
