Tonights D&D highlights

Highlights:

[DM kindly arranges for a boss' very cool weapon to be mine after the fight]

Me: wait... how big did you say it was?

Dm: uh... ten foot

Me, cackling: ITS LITERALLY TWICE THEIR SIZE

Dm: do you want me to make it smaller?

Me: absolutely not

[When we were hiding from a boss, Trom opens the crate to hop into]

DM: you pop the crate open. It's full of hay, and nestled in there is a pair of fancy leather boots 👢

Me: ooooh do they perhaps look like they're my size?

DM: I-- yeah, just from looking they look about your size

Me: well, Trom gets into the crate and takes the opportunity to try on some new shoes! 😎

[Later, after the fight]

DM: everything you're finding pretty much seems magical in some way,

Me: wait, are my boots magic?

DM: do you wanna do an arcana check?

Trom (me): ....guuuuys can you look at my boots I don't know any magic stuff

[Siegfried does an arcana check, gets a sorta alright result.]

Dm: well, you can tell theres something magical about them but you're not sure what. It seems it'll be easier to find out after a long rest.

Trom (me): ...I feel like I probably shoulda inquired about this before I put them on

DM: and the barrel you're hiding in splinters to peices--

Siegfried: Alas! He has not a clue of my sheer size! The top barrel only contains half of my body, and the bottom has no lid!

Me: [cackling at the idea of this barrel being demolished and there's now a huge guy stood in half a barrel looking at this massive enemy]

The colours looked super different on my tablet screen but whatever

I'm so excited I finally get to play them!! So hopefully I'll have lots more ideas for doodles of them too

I casually implied my D&D character was a noble in-character today and I realised that when it actually properly comes out that this idiot is in fact technically a noble,

it's gonna have the same energy as that scooby doo episode where they find out shaggy lives in a mansion
