A Whole Lifetime (Trixya) - Lyonne-dlm & Saiphl
Late, but stomping, we join the #TrixyaWrimo from Tumblr.
This is the first of -hopefully- many colaborations with Jania.
Also, I must tell you that this baby wasn’t betaed at all, and we’re not english natives so we excuse our grammar mistakes beforehand.
A WHOLE LIFETIME
When Trixie woke up to the sound of a raspy female voice and images of what seemed to be a gallery, she had just turned fifteen and was part excited, part disappointed she didn’t get to see her soulmate’s face.
Now, eleven years after that, her frustration was growing with every day she expected to find her and it just didn’t happen. Friends like Shea or Kim had already found their soulmates, and they were utterly happy, on the other hand, there were Pearl and her, that -for the hundredth time- were having the same discussion.
“Come on Pearl, At least you know her face”, Trixie said to make her point clear.
“I swear Trix, it’s awful to get some kind of hope when you see a single sign of who could be her and find out the stranger you saw has blue eyes or her nose is small and pointy… Even finding a guy who looks like a slender girl.” Pearl retorted, annoyed with her negativity. “You just get a voice, but you don’t get the weight of an image", she added, matter of factly. “And believe when I say that knowing her face doesn’t make things any easier. It doesn’t matter when you wake up everyday with the resolution of finding the one and get your heart shattered every single time.”
Pearl pressed the bridge of her nose, then looked at Trixie with a sad expression. “I’ve seen her happy, and sad. I’ve seen her grow up and change, I’ve already fell in love with her and I can’t reach her.”
“I am just mad cause you know who are you looking for, I don’t have an idea of how she looks like, all i know is that her voice is raspy.”, Trixie backfired, trying to hide the hurting on her words, somehow failing and making Pearl sink on her chair.
“I have a face, yeah… but you at least know what’s she’s gonna say when you meet her!” The blonde girl sighed, taking a brief and ashamed look at her friend. “I know it’s hard girl, our besties found their ones almost around the corner. We just have to keep trying.” She added, reaching for her friend’s hand.
“I know Pearlie, but I wonder if it will really happen,” Trixie speculated, more to herself than for the sake of the conversation. “I just wish I had more than just phrases and the sound of her voice. Hearing ‘I love yous’ and ‘everything will be fines’ always comes in handy”, Trixie sighed. “But I’d rather it to come with dunno… a hug or a good nite kiss.”
Pearl held back a laugh, and looked at Trixie saying, "At least we know they’re girls. I’ve met a guy in college who’s soulmate was a man, and he was totally an hetero!” Trixie cackled and Pearl continued with her story “He lived scared shitless to find the guy, ‘cause he didn’t want to find out that he was meant to be gay.” Trixie frowns, “poor thing, he was miserable with the idea of having to suck dick. Not that I can blame him, but you get the point” Pearl ends the story, breaking the stiffness of Trixie’s face. “On the bright side, you’ll be surprised whenever you and your soulmate find each other.”
“It’s just…I’m starting to think it won’t ever happen”, Trixie admitted, deflated and starting to sink in her chair. “I’ve been looking around, paying attention, listening to every single person around me,” she said, “and then, nothing happens Pearl… nothing.”
Pearl sighed deeply, “Don’t lose hope, I know for sure yours is already in love with you and trying to find you.”
Trixie reached for her hand to hold it and said “and yours is lucky to already have you, girl.” Trixie gave a side look to her watch and cursed. “Shit! I’m late now bitch, we’ll end this discussion tonight, I have a meeting to reach!” With those words, Trixie rushed to her meeting, with the sound of that raspy voice echoing in her head.
The way to her meeting was long and heavy, and the meeting itself was nothing less than tiring, at the end, Trixie, her manager and the recording label finally agreed on signing a contract, which was followed by a brief celebration cocktail in other hall of the luxurious hotel. While her manager arranged the final details of the contract, Trixie sat in the bar settling for a whisky on the rocks, se was distractedly looking around, suddenly, she felt all the air in her lungs leave in a punch.
Hanging on a far wall of the place, there was a painting, that showed the face of a blonde teenager on the verge of tears; the long waves of golden hair falling down her back and the reflection on the mirror, showing the slightly visible lines of dry tears down her cheeks. Trixie felt something familiar on the image, she walked across the room until she faced the painting.
She remembered that face, the crying lines on her cheeks and the infinite sadness that she was barely allowed to show. It was the day of her eighteenth birthday, after her parents found out her soulmate was a woman, and not a man as they wished. The memory still fresh on her head, her mother and father discussing how disappointed they were, how miserable they felt… but must of all, wishing for her to never find her soulmate, ‘cause it may be too embarrassing for them. She remembered how her eyes stung with the silent tears, how she looked in the mirror to check if they weren’t too swell or red
She reached with a hand to touch the painting, recalling with stinging precision how much she liked the pink sundress she was wearing, and also how she teared it to shreds after hearing that conversation. The pain still fresh in her heart, and the adamantine resolution to leave that house as soon as she could, and never look back. Life had changed from those painful times, now Trixie was building herself a life, and found friends that not only understood, but also supported her. The only thing missing, was her, the mystery woman of the raspy voice.
Lost on her thoughts, Trixie didn’t realized she was being called, until her manager put a hand on her shoulder, “Wow Trixie, the girl on the painting, looks just like you, it’s eerie”. She half laughed and then asked him to find out who did the painting. She wanted… no, SHE-NEEDED to know. Trixie’s urge to find the author led them to the Hotel’s owner, who said he bought that paint from an unknown street artist.

Since the day Katya dreamed for the first time with her soulmate, she took the first pencil and the first sketchbook that her hands reached to draw her, Katya always considered herself lucky she gotta see her soulmate almost every night, she got to memorize every aspect of her face the little mole at the side of her mouth or the light freckles that covered her cheeks. She could see her smile and how her golden curls framed her face to perfection, and some days even could see her sad, those were the ones that broke her heart, ‘cause she wasn’t there to hold her safe.
Katya recalled feeling excited when she saw her face, as time passed by, she assumed that the blonde girl will be an important part of her life, and even got used to talk to her image on the painting and sketches she always was drawing of her. One day, a few months after her nineteenth birthday, she realized she was in love with the blonde girl in her dreams, she knew it from the moment she finished the only painting of her she sold without hesitation, the one where she was crying.
Now she’s twenty seven and things haven’t been as easy as she thought it would be. She hasn’t found her soulmate yet. First she started looking through the crowd for long waves of golden curls, looking for the matching pair of hazel eyes. Then she looked for pieces of clothing, bright and baby pink pieces of clothing, to be precise. Finally, and along the years, faithful to her greatest talent, she started painting her.
Sometimes optimist, some others not much, Katya kept painting and showing her work wherever she went ‘If blonde girl doesn’t come to me, then I’ll find her’. She repeated that to herself so often that one day, she realized that those paintings and matra gave her comfort
And those same painting led her to where she is now, her first exhibition. She was more than excited ‘cause the art gallery invited her from a handful of young plastic artists, and the best part, was the whole row of the blonde girl portraits. From the very first sketch of the freckled teenager, to the most elaborated images of her as a gorgeous woman.
Katya carefully selected the pieces for her exhibition, regretting for a second having sold that portrait of the sad blonde girl. Still that piece was so raw, real and sad that she couldn’t stand it, she couldn’t stand seeing her so broken, it was so personal it couldn’t be part of the exhibit not with people knowing her unknown soulmate was the one in those paintings. Sighing to the blank space on the wall, she took one last frame, her favorite; the first sketch she ever made of her beautiful blonde girl; light and graphite surrounded by the pristine whiteness of the paper of her sketchbook.
“You see? that’s perfect, now everyone will see you’re perfect, everyone will know I’m looking for you”, she said with a huge grin on her face, “and I promise baby, I promise we’ll be alright… together.”
“Katya, is everything set up?”, Raja’s voice dragged her from the daydreaming. “If you’re done, I guess you can go home, we’re all ready for the opening.” Lazily, the tall woman stood behind Katya, looking at the sketch she just hung on the wall. “That’s incredible Katya… whatever, who’s that girl? do you know her?”, she asked, a note of pure curiosity sneaking on her voice.
Katya nodded, then shook, “I know her, but I don’t… I’ve been dreaming of her since I was sixteen.”
“Ohh, so is she your soulmate?”, Raja asked, a kind smile showing on her lips. “I dreamt of Nila since I was fifteen, it took me eight years and a tortuous family trip to find her.” She shared, her chiseled frame softening to the mention of her soulmate.
”Oui, this one right here was the first time i dreamed of her, i just had to take my pencils and start to draw her” Katya showed proudly the sketch, which Raja looked at, amused. “I know it has a lot of technical failures, and the proportions are mistaken, but It’s the first glimpse I got of her, this wouldn’t be complete without it.” Raja nodded in agreement, then the both of them walked out the gallery. Splitting their ways to take their respectives cabs.
While on the cab she thought about how would it feel to come home to your soulmate arms. Truth to be told, the wish to find her, mixed with her natural anxiety, were taking the best of her. Was she what her soulmate expected? Would she be disappointed? It was going to be one of those sleepless nights, which meant Katya’s chances to see her were even slimmer than every other day.
All the way home, Katya was feeling uneasy, something inside her warning that something was going to change. With trembling hands and tapping the tip of her feet she counted the streetlights on her way home. paying the taxi driver and just absentmindedly walking to her apartment, opening the door and throwing everything on the nearest couch.
The lights of the city barely sneaking through the windows and reflecting over the wall her only lead on the rush to her bedroom. Muscle memory working its magic by taking her to the nightstand beside her bed, where she immediately took, protective, the frame holding the very first full draw she did of her soulmate, “I’m home baby… I love you.” Maybe she was crazy by telling to a drawing that she loved it, but deep down something told her that somewhere, she was listening to her voice.
It was going to be a sleepless night for her, but if she was listening, then it’ll be worthy. She did her best trying to sleep, from taking a relaxing shower, to the desperate resource of having a cup of warm chocolate milk, and nothing seemed to work. She cried in frustration, how was she going to find her if she wasn’t able to see her? Also, how was she going to cope with the most important exhibition of her blooming career without being able to sleep? The answer to those questions never came, neither the so needed image of her soulmate, or the ability to at least, get a couple of hours of sleep.
Giving up on it, she brewed some coffee, took the notes she made about the paintings she was showing and started reading. She’ll have longer day even, so she better at push through it with caffeine energy. The first lights of the sunrise caught her on the couch of her living room, looking absentmindedly through the window under a soft fleece blanket and holding close to her heart the frame from the nightstand.
After downing the last cup of coffee, she started to get ready. She changed her clothes, tidied the messy bed, went for shopping and got back to water her plants. She still had some hours before the exhibit inauguration, so she felt like going to paint. Getting her hands busy would settle her down.
———————
If there was a word to describe what Trixie was feeling, that might be impatient. It had been almost twelve hours since she found that painting, it had been the longest almost twelve hours of her life. Even though she had barely slept, a warm feeling spread through her chest, as if everything was going to be alright… not good enough to calm her down, but at least to not panic.
When she got to actually sleep she only had time to sleep 3 hours but it didn’t mattered cause she got an i love you. Wasn’t it weird? she doesn’t know anything about her but still she gets an i love you from her. Lost in her thoughts, she almost faint with the beep of a message on her phone.
Slay Coulee: Morning bitch! u awake or still hearing the voice of your madness? Slay Coulee: Answer the phone bitch! I know ur there, ur fkn online bitch! Tracy Martell: Is that a way to wake your best friend and bridesmaid to be? Tracy Martell: I’ll give you a clue: IT-IS-NOT-BITCH! Slay Coulee: Uh, someone is moody today Tracy Martell: I barely slept… so, no, I’m not the happiest camper Slay Coulee: u barely slept? fuck… u’re gonna be a n8mare Tracy Martell: your writing is giving me a headache Tracy Martell: what do my, sweet and charming best friend needs at this unholy hours of the morning? Slay Coulee: just sayin’ g’mornin’ bitch, and your not-so-friendly-reminder, that today is Sasha’s opening evening Slay Coulee: so if you still want to be the bridesmaid, you have to be there Tracy Martell: that’s basically bribing, I hate you Slay Coulee: I love you too, don’t be late Mattel!!! Tracy Martell: get a life Bridezilla! Tracy Martell: If i am alive by then i am gonna try and go, no promises tho Slay Coulee: CU there bitch, Pearl will be the bridesmaid if you don’t go Slay Coulee: and it will be in your conscience if my wedding gets screwed by a stoned bridesmaid Tracy Martell: No, it won’t. And I’m going to be laughing of how karma makes its way to you Slay Coulee: I mean it bitch… bye
Trixie grunted to the screen of her phone, truth to be told, she had totally forgotten about Sasha’s exhibit, and also that Shea had told her at least two months ago. Truth to be told, Trixie didn’t have the strength, the will or the remains of patience to go to an art gallery while waiting for some information of the author of her portrait.
She snuggled under her bed cover, where she felt safe. Her mind slowly sliding into the dizziness of her sleepless night and her body begging to rest. Not so sure of how much time she spent on the bed, the beep of her phone made her jump. The screen flashing a message from her Manager, who forwarded the address and references of where the owner of the hotel found the portrait.
Not wanting to lose more time, she pulled some comfy yet stylish clothes and made her way to the address sent to her. She was amused when she found herself at the park that was a few blocks away from her apartment. ‘could she have been here all the time and I didn’t notice?’, Trixie wondered, part excited, part terrified of what she would find. With the picture she took of the portrait, she started walking among the young artists that were there selling their work.
No one seem to know who she was looking for, none of them recognized her, nor the portrait and definitely, none of them had her voice. Trixie couldn’t help feeling deflated, she got hopeful of finding her. ‘Cause no one but her soulmate could have painted her with such a precision… there was no one when she cried over her parents discussion, no one but her could have seen that pink sundress.
By three pm she called it quits, all the artist that she went to told her that, that they haven’t seen that kind of technique in any of the artists in the park, she was deflated and her body was about to give up of tiredness and the headache that came with it. Once she was back home, she barely made it through the couch, where she fell over, face down and just conscious of the life on her veins with her lungs working to keep her breathing.
Her only clue turned out to be either outdated or wrong, so she was focusing on her breathing cause she really didn’t want to cry right now, and with all the remains of her willpower, she got up from the couch, cleaned her face and got to bed.
Tracy Martell: Tell Pearl she’ll be an amazing bridesmaid
Once she sent the message, she put on some ear plugs and wrapped herself on the bed, easily drifting into what became some hours of some restless sleep. The weirdest dreams went through her head, from listening the raspy voice almost cackling to her desperate attempts to find it, and then shifting to a cry of sorrow, that made her feel like a failure. Then a buzz… where does that come from?, she wondered in the deep of her mind.
Another buzz, what the fuck is that?, she asked to the air, just to get an answer of the echo of her voice. One more buzz, the one that made her jump. Her phone falling from the nightstand to her arm. It had to be buzzing for a long time for that to happen. Still half asleep, she took the device and checked on the screen, just to find a zillion messages and 10 missed calls from Shea.
The phone started buzzing again as a call came, showing Shea’s name on the screen. Trixie answered the call, while taking off one of the ear plugs, “Shea what in the actual fuck? Why did you spammed my messages? It’d better be an emergency or…”
Shea’s voice came rambling in a barely audible whisper,"I think your soulmate is in the gallery, where Sasha is exposing” she said, part excited, part still trying to keep her tone as low as possible.
Fighting back the annoyance in her voice, Trixie rolled her eyes and held a huff, answering in a flat tone "I know Sasha is aweso… what?” She stopped herself, realizing what she just heard. “What did you just say?”, she asked feeling her heart starting to beat as fast as the wings of a hummingbird.
Shea took a deep breathe, and hurriedly kept whispering, “There’s a whole row of pictures of you, with really similar style to the one you found in the hotel and Trixie, hurry there’s like an hour left till this closes.”
Trixie gave her a hurried thank you and then finished the call. She didn’t have time to do her face, not even to pull a decent hairdo, she barely had time to put some semi-decent clothes, while the uber she called arrived. The location Shea gave her wasn’t so far from her home, but each traffic light and little jams on the street made her curse her former lack of will to go to the exhibit.
When the car finally stopped outside the gallery, she could see a tall woman with olive skin having a cigarette and talking to a gorgeous asian woman, who looked at her as if she had put the stars on the sky, a pang of jealousy stung her chest, but she had no time to lose, according to the invitation she received, the exhibition was about to close and she had less than ten minutes. Then, all her chances would be screwed.
Entering the gallery she felt the world fall. There were barely 10 people left, and Shea jogged to her “come on girl, follow me.” Smiling, she took her hand and dragged her to the row that showed her growing, from her teens, to the Trixie she just saw in the rear view mirror of the uber. Breathless, she released her hand from Shea’s grip and absentmindedly walked to the very first portrait, a sketch of her face drawn in black and white.
A tear fell from her eyes, she was closer than ever to that voice, that one that always comforted her in her worst moments, exactly the same one that brought her back from her thoughts with a loud cackle. She heard steps approaching, and she was too nervous to even decide to turn around, “excuse me, we’re about to close, but we’ll be open tomorrow from 10…” She heard the voice of her dreams, while feeling the weight of a hand landing softly on her right shoulder.
Slowly turning around, a part of her couldn’t wait to see the face of the person behind her, the other part on the verge of a breakdown full of what ifs…
Katya’s breath hitched while the young blonde in front of her was turning. The same golden wavy blonde hair, the high cheekbones, the plump pink lips, a pointed nose she knew so well from drawing it from more than a decade now. It was undoubtedly her, the girl in her dreams. The girl she had been looking for tirelessly, never giving up even though she found her spirits down with each mistaken girl.
“Hi”, Katya said with a sigh as if air wasn’t enough; a wide smile spreading on her lips. “I… I’m Katya, and I think I am your soulmate.” Not thinking at all, she reached to touch Trixie’s face, totally forgetting she had still some fresh paint stains on her fingers from the quick doodle she was making on the back room.
“Oh wow… I am Trixie, Trixie Mattel and I surely am your soulmate,” Trixie said, instinctively leaning on Katya’s touch, where her face perfectly fitted. “And I think you’ve just finger painted my face” she added with a soft smile and a warm feeling spreading through her chest when Katya’s cheeks starting turning red.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry” Katya tried to pull her hand out, just to find Trixie was holding it with her own. It was even better than she thought it would be; it was just perfect. “I… just… just give me a… no, come with me, let’s get you cleaned and grab my stuff” she said, not moving at all, still caught on the brightness of Trixie’s hazel eyes. “You are even more beautiful than I ever imagined you.”
Trixie blushed and felt a stream of tears falling down her cheek. Katya looked at her, a worried expression on her face. “I… I wanted to say thank you.” She took a deep breathe, closing her eyes, just to look back at her in full emotion “thanks for the good nights, and the good mornings… for all those I’m homes… but most of all, thank you for all those I love yous.”
“It’s ok baby doll… now everything’s going to be alright. We’re going to be alright.” Katya said for the first time to her, and not to her image, and knowing for sure that from now onwards, everything was going to be fine. Just because they found each other.
After all the paint was off Trixie’s face and Katya’s hands they sat together still not believing the other was real, and the most important, in front of the other. “I think we have a whole life to catch up,huh?”
“Yeah… a whole life.” With those words, trixie leaned to join Katya by the forehead. “Thanks for not giving up. I love you”, then she reached to finally kiss her lips.

November was #trixyawrimo fics from @chantiemaya
Have you read her fics? Part 1
1. Jude the Obscene
Katya has a band and is off tour. She goes to a bar with her band and meets Trixie, who is the bartender and also a fan! And they have an interesting time upstairs.
And it's full about no kissing teenagers and the "no sex in first date". Still, sexy.
2. Oh no, not the bees
I asked for this one! It's a movie time fic where Trixie and Katya have a terror movie date and it's funny.
If someone ever wants to write a not fluffy version of this... I would love it.
3. Big dick energy
Can you guess it was my ask? It's smut in the car.
Katya it's Trixie's sugar mommy. I.Q Kitty Stripper Trixie is now a sugar baby and needs to go to a meeting with Katya while with a sex toy inside her in the car.
4. The one where Katya pretended to be Trixie's gf
Fake dating AU.
They meet in a bar, but Trixie needs Katya because her ex-boyfriend is a scary guy who wants her back.
So real, scary and women should help each other when men are stupid.
5. The one where Katya lives in London
This is a strange fic because it's a British holiday and I have no idea why people make a bonfire. Maybe it's Guy Fawkes memoir and the mask for independence and freedom.
Watch the movie and then read the fanfic where Trixya meet again after Katya moves to London for work and Trixie travels to see her. Love and dating abroad. It's cute!
6. Trixie’s Diner
I remember talking about this twist with Chantie and being so excited for that. And my almost bratty complaining how she shouldn't do the twist in a small one shot.
I will not say the twist. But Katya comes to Trixie's diner and they make out in a dangerous way.
Go read
And go comment
And wait for the part 2

Paris (Trixya) - Lyonne-dlm & Saiphl
Well, we know November is far gone now, and that all of us are really getting into the Christmas mood, but we don’t really care that the Trixyawrimo is over now, we took one of their prompts, put into our beloved Soulmate AU, and added a pinch of Christmas Vibe, poured some ice and shook it.
Here is the result, and we hope you like it as much as we enjoyed writing it.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
PARIS (Trixya) - Lyonne-dlm & Saiphl
Almost five years have passed since Katya and Trixie finally found each other on that art gallery, five years fully charged with the best memories and moments built by the two of them. From the perfectly awkward shared milkshake in the closest diner to the gallery where they met, to Trixie’s first concert. From moving in together and Katya’s weird style of decor, to their meticulously planned wedding, with the perfect flowers and the princess dress that Trixie had always dreamt about.
Katya still thought Trixie was her personal miracle, the only reason to keep her going; the only woman that could make her want to wait for her down the aisle all dressed in white and still cry each time she watched the video of the magical moment when they swore to love each other forever.
Trixie was holding an iron grip on Katya’s hands, looking intensely to her ice blue eyes, when they finally were allowed to say their vows. Katya cleared her throat and started talking. “Trixie, I’ve been drawing you since i was 16. I grew up watching you smile in my dreams. My heart broke when I saw you cry and I fell in love with you.” She sighed deeply, trying to keep her voice steady.  “All those years before meeting you and when I was 27, I finally got to meet you for the first time in the gallery, got to Kiss you for the first time, got to hear your voice, know your name and to touch you.”, a soft smile spreaded on Trixie’s lips by the memory of that first moment, when she heard the raspy voice live. “I needed to, I had to make sure you were actually there.” Katya lifted a hand to touch Trixie’s face, still in disbelief of her being real. “I know that after you find your soulmate you are supposed to stop dreaming about them, but really how could i stop dreaming about you? my dreams are still about you Trixie ,Now i am 29 and i can barely wait one more second to be your wife.” Katya said, finally falling to her own emotion, and smiling fondly to her soulmate.
Shea reached to give Trixie a tissue to clear the tears off her face, still avoiding to ruin her perfectly beated face. Trixie looked at Katya, holding her hands again before saying her own vows. “It took eleven years and like a zillion of messages from Shea to find you, Katya and I have to admit that I was giving up on finding you… “ She said, giving a side look to Pearl, who was holding hands with an impressive brunette girl, who was leaning her head over Pearl’s shoulder. “That’s something I’m not proud of, thankfully, my friends kept the hoping up for me… Thank you Pearlie, Shea… this couldn’t be happening without you.” Trixie said, not looking to her friends, but knowing that was how she felt. “Every night, when I heard your voice saying I love you and good night baby, was the reason to keep moving every single day. I love you Katya… so much, and I can’t wait to be yours, forever.”
Katya’s tears were drawing soft lines on her face, Raja helping her to fix it without releasing their hands holding. They shared an intense gaze, and then kissed when they were allowed to, sealing their everlasting love promise.
Life had been awesome since then, and they were grateful of all the things they got to do and achieve together. What led them to that precise moment, when life changed forever for the both of them. They were taking a long vacation in France, taking their time to discover the country side of the most romantic places of the world.
Katya was drawing Trixie sitting on a fountain, so concentrated that she was totally foreign to the children playing nearby. “Katya… I need one of those”. Katya kept drawing, not even looking at her, only to pay attention when she felt a soccer ball hitting her leg and Trixie’s. A little freckled boy ran to them, the only brave enough to reach a couple of strangers and talk to them, asking for his ball. Trixie took the toy and gave it back to him, to hear him say “Merci Barbie,” making her laugh lightly.
Katya lifts her face from the sketchbook she was working with “a sketchbook? baby, we have thousands of those at home, but if you need it right now I can give you mine.”
“I need one of those Katya…” Trixie repeated, turning to look her in the eye, barely directing her arm to the group of playing children.
“Oh… oh, a child” Katya says, amused by her wife’s admission, “like, really need it or it’s just hypothetical, like the kid we raised a couple of years back, in our little place in Chicago?” Outraged, Trixie looked at Katya, hitting her arm lightly. she knew fully well they’d only imagined having kids.
“I’m just making sure we are on the same page baby” Katya takes her hand and drags her back to the bench they were sharing. “You know I want to raise a family with you, but you need to be conscious of how it will change our lives.”  Katya looks at her, deadly serious, and saying matter of factly “we won’t be able to travel so often, and also, we’ll have to be… a little bit more discreet with… you know”
Trixie nodded to each point, already picturing herself holding their little bundle. “And will require a lot of time from the both of us, from the search of the donor, going through keeping them alive, to them leaving to college,” She said. Her mind was full of the images of their child riding a bike, going to the first day of school, doing their driving test.
Katya knew the precise moment when Trixie’s mind started going wild on the idea of the baby, and she snapped her back touching her cheek. “Don’t forget the sleepless nights when they get sick,” Katya said, in a kinda dark tone, remembering her own nights of fever along her childhood. “The science projects, the nightmare nights, them knowing their soulmate and when they get a heartbreak.” She continued, still putting over the table their own experience on finding each other. “We are going to have to be in everything and put them first in our decisions. Taking all that into consideration. Do you still want to do it Trix?“
“Yes Katya, I want to hear little steps running in our house, and wake up on sundays to find you painting with our baby,” she continued, her face lighting with the expectation. “I want to bake birthday cakes and plan themed parties… I want to be the mother of our child.”
==================
Months later, they were looking on Trixie’s laptop to the profiles of the sperm bank, trying to find the best option for the donor. After more than three hours and what seemed to be an endless parade of male specimens, Trixie finally found what she was looking for. “There he is Katya, he’s perfect… like perfect”, she said all full of excitement and waking Katya from the tiredness of looking straight to the laptop for so long.
What Katya saw when she looked at the screen, almost made her cackle. “Trixie… he looks like my father when he was young and my mother made sure to get into his pants.” Trixie gasped at that piece of her wife’s story… she hadn’t known before, and didn’t need to know that her-mother-in-law was the one jumping her father-in-law’s bones.
“And you just made him like 25% less perfect with that phrase Katya,” Trixie said humorless, but still liking the guy, who’s profile made him look like the male version of Katya. “Still, I like him, at least his features will help our baby to look like they’re your actual kid.”
Katya smiled fondly at her wife. she was seriously involved with the process of making their family growth happening, and it melted her heart. “You know what? you’re right, I like his face. The only thing that’s really different from me, is that his eyes are a bit of a different color. I think he can be the 50% of our baby that I cannot give.” She kissed Trixie’s temple, and the other blonde clicked the selection button on the page. Their journey was starting.
The following week, they went to an appointment with Trixie’s doctor, who explained them the whole fertilization process, and how they’d have to wait from two to three weeks before knowing if the whole thing had actually been successful and the little one will grow healthy inside Trixie’s womb.
From the day the eggs were put inside Trixie they were both excited and terrified.  Katya taking care of her and driving from her studio, to Trixies job to pick her up and then going back together home. When the time finally came to take the pharmacy tests, Katya was holding Trixie on their bathtub, getting her relaxed with a bath bomb and a silly conversation about how Raja and Manila were finally agreeing on getting married in… four or five years.  They left the tub when the water was getting cold and Katya was the one looking to the sticks of the tests because Trixie didn’t found the bravery to do it by herself.
“We… we made it! There’s a little human cub growing inside you Trix!” Katya yelled excitedly, hugging her wife tightly and lifting her up from the ground.  “We’re going to be moms! I love you baby, so much, SO, SO, SO MUCH!” Katya kissed Trixie passionately and deeply, exactly the same way she’d done it since the very first time.
“My God we are going to be moms!” Trixie said, finally realizing the magnitude of what was happening. “Katya… we’re doing this, like actually doing it”, she breathed heavily. “I love you too, and I love baby cub… and love us all!” Trixie cried, lacing her arms behind Katya’s neck to find balance, she felt her legs so wobbly, that she doubted they could keep her up by themselves.
That same week, they went to the doctor and he confirmed the news, as expected, just one of the three eggs had worked, but it was well positioned and being careful along the first trimester, they would get a perfectly healthy newborn for the first weeks of april of the following year.
The first trimester they lived in constant stress, Katya making Trixie bring her along on walks because she was afraid to let Trixie alone, and cooking herself every meal Trixie ate. Trixie started having a very healthy lifestyle, quitting immediately coffee, wine and what was the most difficult for her to leave: sugary things. Every doctor appointment was a whole event. Those visits fit into a schedule composed of the morning pregnancy yoga routine that both Katya and Trixie performed religiously, then the enriched breakfast and Trixie’s pregnancy vitamins, then getting ready and driving to the doctor’s office.
When they reached the week twelve and they were told everything was going perfect, they were so happy, relieved and excited, that they invited all their friends to share the news about the new member of their family.
“Oh my God! the first one of the next generation, I’m so excited!” Shea said, looking pointedly to Trixie’s womb, trying to make it grow faster by looking at it. “I hope it’s a girl, so we’ll be able to spoil her to death.”
“You bet, I’ll make sure she’s a total brat”, Pearl said, getting a loud cackle from her girlfriend Violet and an annoyed look from Katya. “What? She will be my first niece, I have a moral obligation to spoil her rotten.” Violet nodded in agreement to her girlfriend, who lifted her face proudly to get support from her soulmate.
“Guys, we don’t even know if it’s a girl or a boy,” Raja said lazily, taking a sip of wine to create a dramatic effect to her words. “And we all know that it doesn’t matter what’s the sex of the baby, we’ll going to spoil them rotten, just because we’ll be madly in love with them.” The group of women agreed, and Trixie leaned her head on Katya’s shoulder.
Katya surrounded her with an arm and told  her wife “we’re so screwed… this bunch of crazy women will create a monster that we have to raise to be a good human being.” Trixie laughed at how funny that sounded, because she knew deep inside that their friends will always take care, spoil, and make sure that the little one is safe, that was what family was meant to do. And all of them were family.
==================
October ran faster than they expected, the last thing they were talking about was the diner with their friends, and then Halloween was coming, giving room to a November that Trixie spent melting herself into each one of her cravings. Going from a full pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream mixed with candy corn; chocolate flakes and what Katya described as the biggest monstrosity created since the atomic bomb: A Gigantic Burrito drowned in melted cheese and covered with chili, apart of the chili inside.
They started decorating the baby’s room, painting the walls in soft mint green, with some rabbits and bears that Katya painted by herself, spending most of her rare free time on their kid space. Step by step, the room started shaping, first with a wooden crib, which Trixie dressed up with a quilted cover, and Katya installed shelves that would soon be filled with stuffed animals.
One day Katya arrived home with a package that was big enough to require help to be put inside their home. It had been sent by Katya’s mother in Boston, the rocking chair that Katya’s grandfather made when she was born, the last piece of furniture made by the man before passing away. Trixie asked Katya to put it beside the window. “I’ll sing them to sleep there, and I want to breastfeed our kid sitting on that piece of her mom’s story.
December finally came, with a heat wave that no one could actually explain. Trixie and Katya started the Christmas decorations, full of the hot pink Trixie loved so much, and part of the red that actually was a part of Katya’s personality. The little fireplace on their house held a full display of their wedding pictures, and below, a print of the first fuzzy image of their baby. Hung on the mantle were a hot pink christmas stocking with Trixie’s name embroidered in golden letters, and Katya’s all red and also embroidered but in a pearly black color. “I’ll put a hanger for the baby, Trix” Katya said, frowning at the empty space on the fireplace. “It’s their first Christmas, they deserve a stocking in the fireplace.”
“Katya, they won’t be here to open their gifts on Christmas morning, maybe we can wait to next Christmas, so we can actually get Christmas photoshoot and official family greeting cards,” Trixie said. She rubbed the slight curve of her womb that she popped buttons on her top to show off. “Don’t look at me like that, we haven’t even chosen a name for them, we can’t have a nameless stocking in the fireplace… not on my watch.”
It was the day before Christmas Eve when they had their 20th week appointment; Trixie’s bump kept growing, to the point she actually looked pregnant, and she finally got to wear a stupid denim overall that Katya hated, but tolerated because Trixie was very excited to wear it.  “We will know today, you know?”, she said to Katya when they were driving to the doctor’s office. “It’s time to know if we’re having a boy or a girl… I’m nervous baby.”
“Everything will be fine, love. Also we will be better able to decide on a name once we know what sex they are.” They  walked hand in hand to the office, and kept holding hands when the doctor finally let them know the baby’s gender. Both of them cried a stream of happy tears when the words ‘it’s a boy’ came out of their doctor’s mouth.
What followed was the largest argument they’ve had since they met. Trixie was nagging on the idea of a single name, something simple. Katya was spreading some names here and there. None of them actually coming to an agreement until Trixie said. “No Bible names, nothing Jew… please, nothing personal, it’s just I think they’re so common. Also, I don’t want none of those fancy ‘Blake Cinnamon’ thing, I respect our child enough for that matter.”
“Well, what do you think about gender neutral names?” Katya prompted ,”I mean, we don’t know what he’s going to want when he grow up, better to give him a starting point.” Trixie arched a brow, pondering the idea, and finding it endearing. Also, a gender neutral name would be a nice surprise for their friends, who will keep asking what the baby was.
“I’m on it, we’ll make some research at home” Trixie said, giving Katya some room to breathe. They finally had an agreement.
It was close to midnight when Trixie put aside the computer, totally frustrated and looking at Katya as if she had a third eye and palmed fingers. “No Katya, for the hundredth time today, my son will not be named Blake, and that’s a final word.”
“It’s a good name Trix, come on, you can’t just dismiss any friggin option I’m giving. And no, my son will not be named Avery… it sounds awful.”  They looked at each other, fire, annoyance, and tiredness in their respective gazes. “If I didn’t know this baby is a boy, I’d name her Helena… just a face like Helen of Troy would cause such a war between two loving women.”
Trixie snapped her head, looking at Katya. “There it is, we haven’t considered greek names!” Katya looked at her, rubbing her chin and arching a brow in deep thought.
“You know, I’ve been studying the greek myths for the new collection, a reinvention of the classic figures. I’ve just read about the Trojan war, and it all happened because Paris couldn’t keep his hands to himself, and needed to kidnap Helen to him.” Katya explained, making Trixie huff in annoyance. “The point is, I guess Paris is a good name, like… gender neutral, and also will always remind us of the time we decided to become his mothers, as we were in France when we decided it to happen.”
Trixie nodded, “I guess it’s a good idea, Paris.  Paris Mattel-Zamolodchikova, I really like it Katya.” She leaned to kiss her wife to seal the deal “His name is Paris, and I’ll embroider it tomorrow on his stocking, so he will have a proper presence in our house.”
“And on his first Christmas” Katya said enthusiastically, then put a hand on Trixie’s belly, who gave a little jump “did you felt that Katya?”, Trixie asked, amused. “Oh… Oh! there it is again, have you felt it?”
Katya’s eyes opened wide, looking from Trixie’s face to her hand on her belly. “That’s him. It’s Paris kicking!” The baby kicked one more time, making them excited, happy and teary. “He likes my voice baby, he really likes it.” Katya kissed Trixie once and then bent to talk to the bumping baby  “Hello Paris, I’m Katya, your mom, and she is Trixie, your mommy, and we are very excited to know you’re our boy.”
“And right now, we’re going to bed, cause I know you’re not tired Paris, but I’m exhausted, and you go wherever I wanna go… at least now.” They both laughed, and Katya got off the couch to help Trixie to stand up.
Some minutes later, Trixie was fast asleep, leaning on Katya’s chest, a soft smile spreaded on her lips, before Katya whispered “Good night Baby. Good Night Paris. Merry Christmas. I love you both.”

Half a Life (Rajila)  - Lyonne-dlm & Saiphl
Well, this is like a spin off from the Soulmate AU we started back in November with the Trixyawrimo, some of the readers asked for the backstory to Raja and Nila, and this is the outcome,
We hope you enjoy the reading.
Half a Life
Raja just turned fifteen when her life changed 180°. She was beautiful, funny and everybody loved her, the perfect girl that every mother had only dreamt about, and an incredibly talented artist too. She met Gary when they were in their first year in Junior High, it was love at first sight.
Gary took her to the movies and for a milkshake the night he properly asked her to be his girlfriend; none of them really caring about the time when they first have a glance of their soulmates. They had figured their future together. They’ll planned to finish the high school first of their classes, being his the higher notes, he was going to be the valedictorian, they’ll go to an Ivy League college. She was going to get a degree in visual arts and he was going to be not just a doctor, he was going to be the most prestigious cardiologist all over the US Territory.
He’ll pursue his specialty while Raja started to make a name for herself in the art world, and when the time comes, they’ll become Mr. and Mrs. Kho. Future was nothing but perfect for them.
Maharani Amrull, Raja’s mother, was happy to see her little girl glowing with the expectation of the life she had planned, she was happy to see her baby so in love. Still she feared the day when reality would hit them both. She knew the time of them dreaming of their soulmates was just around the corner, and she wanted to give a reality check with her daughter, just to make sure she won’t get devastated if she found out Gary wasn’t meant to be her person.
“Raja, baby, can we talk?“, she asked, even after eighteen years living in New York her indonesian accent strong.
The girl put down her backpack and looked straight at her mother “sure mani, what happened?” Raja sat besides her mother in the dining room, still smiling after being kissed by Gary in the front door back from the school.
“Gary brought you home, right?”, Maharani asked, doing her best to disguise her worries while the dreamy smile in her daughter’s face widened. “Rajie, I hate to be the one bringing this up, but…” she sighed, preparing herself for the outcome of that conversation.
Raja’s smile faded as soon as it was spreading, she knew her mother like the back of her hand, and knew immediately what she was about to talk. “Mom, please… no, don’t do this, I’m sure I’ll dream of Gary, and he’ll dream of me, we’re meant to be together”, she said, matter of factly.
“Don’t do this please baby, what if it doesn’t happen? I mean, I know you love that boy, and I’d be crazy if I wouldn’t , but baby the possibility is there and I just want to make sure you don’t feel disappointed if someone else is meant to be with you.“ The woman’s face fell when she saw the tears sliding her daughter’s beautiful face.
“Who knows mom? It might be his voice or his face what I get when the time comes?” she said in a whisper, feeling her heart already shattered with the mere possibility. “It happened to you and dad, mom… you were with who you were meant to be” she retaliated, part unconvinced, part hopeful. “I really hope it’s him.”
Maharani reached to take her daughter’s hand in hers. “Dad and I were lucky baby, but you know it rarely happens, most of the people spend their late teens and all their twenties finding their one.” Unable to hold it back anymore, Raja started crying.
A couple of weeks later, when Raja was waiting for Gary to arrive to the school on his birthday, she had an odd feeling that something was wrong, but she couldn’t guess what it was, until he showed up at school. All lowered shoulders and looking to the floor, he stood in front of Raja, stuttering unintelligible words, that confirmed her worst fears: Gary got the face of a girl, a girl that was not her. “I’m sorry Raj… I… I really wanted for it to be you, but I guess… I guess this is where it ends.”
Gary hugged her protectively, while Raja melted on his arms for the last time, he caressed her hair while she was sobbing “You’ll always have a special place in my heart Rajie, you’ll always be my first love.” Kissing her temple, he added, “He will be one lucky bastard… he’s getting the jackpot with you.” They parted ways with sad smiles, and Raja secluded herself, losing track of time until June 14th, when she woke up in the middle of the night, all drenched in cold sweat after hearing a loud laugh and a high pitched voice, one that even if it was still changing, was clearly a female voice.
In clear denial, Raja spent the following three years begging her mother to take her to a therapist. She thought she was going insane, first of all, there wasn’t a slight chance for it to be her soulmate’s voice… she sounded so young. Second and most important, she couldn’t be soulmates with a girl, because, she was straight… wasn’t she? The fact that she spent some extra time appreciatively looking to some of her classmates on the dressing rooms for gym class meant nothing, she couldn’t be gay.
She gave up asking for professional support after her brother Sutan came back home after a year volunteering in Africa, just to introduce to the family his brand new boyfriend and soulmate David, a Russian boy with avid brown eyes and quick witted mind. The night she turned nineteen, she decided to seriously start looking for her soulmate whose voice was now clearer and still high pitched.
====
Time passed faster than she expected, and before she could notice it, she graduated from Columbia University. By that time, she’d already met most of the lesbian girls in the campus and also from nearby cities, none of them were the owner of the high pitched voice that still drove her insane every night.
At twenty two, she moved to Chicago, her first big job as a manager assistant in an indie art gallery, and she got used quickly to the lifestyle in a new city. Charming and easy going as she was, she quickly became friends with a Russian girl named Sasha, who shared the same passion for visuals that she has, and also with a former new yorker named Aja.
Raja found in her job a way to escape from her thoughts. She had the idea that once she accepted and embraced the fact she had a female soulmate, will make easier the task to find her, and when it didn’t happen, she just tied herself to the only thing giving her some kind of steadiness.
“What you need is getting laid Raja, seriously, you can’t just live going from home to the gallery and then back”, Aja said, complaining for the zillionth time when her friend refused to go out. “Staying secluded won’t make a progress on your source, girl” the annoyance in the other girl’s voice bitter as bile.
Sasha laughed when she heard Raja hiss for the same zillionth time to Aja. “I’m perfectly ok, all I need is my job, and if it’s bound to happen, she will appear.” The blonde russian cackled to that affirmation. “Don’t look at me like that Aja, and you shut up Sasha, I’m done looking, I’m done failing every single time.” Raja sighed. “I’ve been looking for her, now’s her time to look for me!”
“You’re so stubborn Raja, I can’t talk to you anymore!” Aja said exasperated, “and I’m serious when I say I won’t take another snap from you miss thing, I’m done with your attitude.”
Raja looked at Aja, a hurt expression in her face making the other regret her words. Raja was about to snap back when Sasha stood between them. “I have a solution and you can’t say no Raja, and I bet Aja is actually up to it.” Both girls looked at Sasha, curiosity creeping on their faces. “We’re going on vacation, five days, five stars resort in Hawaii all inclusive.” Aja clapped enthusiastically and Raja was about to object when Sasha said “already paid, Mom and Dad owed me two birthday and three christmas gifts, so they immediately said yes, even when I included my best friends in the package.”
“Well… you can count me in Sasha, I haven’t had vacation since… forever” she said, a shy smile spreading through her lips. “But…” Sasha arched a brow and Aja looked at her with a face that said ‘I’ll kill you with your buts and all’.
“But?” both girls asked in unison, expectantly looking to the older one.
“But I think we should get a signed paper from Aja’s mother, otherwise we’ll be charged with minor molesting and kidnap accusations.” Sasha fell on a chair, barely breathing with laugh, and Aja looked viciously at Raja.
“At least I won’t need heart medication and medical authorizations to travel, at your old age, you need to get a full check up before considering leaving this state!” Sasha fell from her chair and her friends got her up, the three of them laughing really hard.
=====
A couple of weeks after that, the three girls arrived to a very luxurious resort, the three rooms one side to the other and communicated by a discreet door. Aja jumped on the bed face down, practically motorboating on the soft pillows. “This is life, I swear we’re on paradise bitches!” she yelled, while Sasha laughed and Raja rolled her eyes.
“Get your ass off the bed bitch, there’s a sunny day out there, and you’re wasting it!”, Raja said, mocking the younger girl, who jump out the bed sticking her tongue out.
Sasha threw a towel to her friend’s face and then turned to her own room “ten minutes and I’ll drag you to the beach however you are, ladies”, she said before closing the door behind her; Raja did the same with her door to Aja’s room and walked to the balcony to feel the breeze.
Raja had a weird feeling about the whole trip thing, something was unsettling her, but she didn’t know what it was, and it was worse when the words of her brother started sounding like a bee swarm on her head: ‘she will come Rajie, just give it a chance, have faith on you two finding each other’. Of course Sutan would be an optimist, he embraced the whole thing of his now husband’s face in his dreams from the very beginning, of course he was a believer, especially now that he was happily married to his soulmate. He hadn’t lost a whole life plan, he hadn’t lost a first love, and of course he never had that high pitched voice on his head every night, making him think he had lost his mind.
She lit a cigarette, her head starting to ache and suddenly lost all the vacation mood she forced into her head the days before the trip. “I’m not losing hope Sutan, I’ve just lost the will to find her”, she whispered before sighing deeply and going to change her clothes after finishing her smoke.
Truth to her word, Sasha went to get her friends to the beach and they all went down to enjoy the sunny place. Aja was at the shore flirting with some girl she met there and Sasha was about to open her book when she realized how quiet Raja has been. “A penny for your thoughts girl”, she said, while laying her hand on the older girl’s forearm. “Let me guess, you’re nagging again on the voice in your head, right?”
Raja sighed once again, and took off her sunglasses to look at her friend. “Mostly at my brother’s words Sasha… I’m feeling kinda weird,” Sasha leant to hug Raja, understanding quite well how she felt, at last, how lost she was right after she heard Shea’s voice for the first time. “I think I’ll take a walk under the sun, the sea will wash this off my head”. Sasha nodded to Raja, and watched her friend going barefoot on the sand under her sunhat.
Aja saw Raja walking away on the shore and frowned a bit worried, but after six months of knowing her, she was sure that bothering her was the dumbest idea; by her side, a cute girl tugged her arm, taking her to her group of friends. Carmen, as she introduced herself, took Aja to a group of girls, who were dancing on the beach to the music of a portable buffer, “Gals! this is Aja. I’ve just met her on the shore”, the girls on the group greeted her with shining smiles and aired kisses. “These are Morgan, her girl -and our official DJ- Kylie, but we call her Sonique, Gabby, or as we call her Delta and that noisy bitch there is Manila.”
A couple of hours after that, Aja went back to Sasha, exactly at the same time Raja was coming back. “Just in time! I’m starving, let’s get some food”, Aja said, pulling Sasha from the chair she was laying over. “Well, while you’ve been awfully boring, I met some gals at the beach.”
“You’re not one wasting time, aren’t you?” Raja said, mocking her, getting an annoyed face as a response.
“Excuse if I want to live before finding my forever handcuff” Aja answered. “Also I got us a party tonight.” With a shit eating grin she continued “you don’t have to thank me ladies, you both know I’d do anything to get our grinch out of the cave.” Raja hissed as an answer and before she could refuse, Sasha interjected.
“That sounds great, we came here to have fun,and Aja since i am responsible for you and i don’t want Doña Rivera killing me, no sex for you “ Raja bursted laughing at Sasha’s words, while Aja pouted her lower lip in protest. “Tell us, what are we going to celebrate? I suppose you got all the details”, asked Sasha, still getting a vicious glare from the youngest girl.
“A double bachelorette, Morgan and Sonique are tying the knot in a couple of weeks, that’s why they are here” Aja answered, suddenly feeling less enthusiastic with the idea.
Raja put a reassuring hand on Aja’s shoulder “come on girl, a celibe trip won’t kill you”, she fake coughed holding her laugh “also, Sasha’s right, your mom would kill us if we don’t take proper care of you.”
Aja threw a raspberry to her friends “you know what? you play the worst set of best friends in world’s history.” Taking her beach bag from the empty chair besides Sasha, she looked one more time at them, outrage clear in her face. “And just for the record, that you came to paradise to play the faithful girlfriend, and Raja playing the old wise matron is not a reason for you to betray me… still, I we’re going to the party, and I’ll get laid if I want.”
The three of them walked to the restaurant listening to Aja’s rant and offering her to misbehave just a little if she promised to be careful and responsible.
====
Later that night, Aja was hurrying her friends “come on bitches, you can’t be serious on taking more than an hour to get ready! we’re gonna miss half the party because you’re slow.” Sasha soon joined Aja in the protests, while Raja was still deciding on which dress to wear.
“Raja, you look great with the white one, now hurry before Aja suffer an anxiety attack, come on.” The tall girl looked at them rising her hands in surrender, and taking her clutch signaling she was ready. The three of them walked out to the party at a club nearby the hotel.
At the door, Aja gave their names to the guard and he let them in, the place a swirl of psychedelic colors and trance music, the beat going deep into Raja’s core with the rhythm of her heartbeat. Unconsciously, Aja was moving to the music, stretching her neck looking for the group of girls she met at the beach, soon she found Carmen, who greeted her with a hug and air kisses to her friends. Aja introduced Sasha and Raja to the girls, all of them there, except Manila and Gabby, who went to the bar to get a round of shots for the group.
Sasha soon engaged in a conversation with the brides to be, talking about how they found each other and sharing ideas and plans. Aja dragged Raja to the dance floor before she started with her usual grumpiness. “Oh no miss thing, you’re not going to ruin the mood, you’re here to have fun and relax, and if it means that I have to drag you to dance the whole night, I will”, Aja said to Raja, who gently smiled to the girl in front of her. She knew Aja was doing her best to cheer her up, but she was still unsettled and somehow, expectant.
“Thanks baby, I mean it… it’s just, I’m not feeling like myself”, Raja admitted awkwardly, being vulnerable wasn’t her strongest suit. “I’ll give this a try, but I can’t promise to stay the whole night”. Being that more than she got from Raja in months, Aja nodded, secretly enjoying her little victory.
When they went back to the group, the night was at its highest point, all of them were toasting to Morgan and Kylie and their new life together. The music so loud making really hard to keep a conversation. Raja felt a hand in her shoulder, and she turned lightly her head to the side, barely listening to the girl who was inviting her to the dance floor, Raja nodded reluctantly and followed the girl with the stunning body wrapped in a yellow dress, that the black neon lights made so easy to follow, and the only thing she could see clearly in the dark, was the streak of bleach blonde hair moving in a sea of wavy black.
A girl that couldn’t be older than twenty, her lips painted in a black that shone under the neon lights. There was something about her that made Raja feel a little relaxed, letting herself flow with the moment. She half heard her name was Manila, and wasn’t sure if she was able to hear her telling her own name. Both of them were slightly drunk, and Manila turned to dance leaning her back on Raja’s chest.
Not really thinking about it, Raja laid temptatively her hands on the girl’s hips, and she started moving even more provocative. It wasn’t much more than the butterfly’s touch on her skin, but Raja felt electrified, something she had never felt, and that was the moment she decided to just feel her dance partner closeness, and the fainting scent of her citric perfume. Forgetting her longing she dared to turn the girl in her arms, and before she could really sink on what was happening, Manila kissed her; it was brief and sloppy but deeply intense. Tracing the line of her jaw, Raja talked to her ear, making sure she can listen to her “let’s get out of here.”
Raja took the lead, pulling her by the firm grip of their hands, they left the place only stopping for a second to get their clutches and going back to the hotel running under the night sky, barefoot on the sand. Manila laughed delighted, and Raja’s heart skipped a beat. That laugh was so familiar but seemed distant, she shook her head and kept running, making sure they reached the sun chairs around the pool. She let herself fall in one of those, pulling Manila to her lap, looking straight at her face. Manila laughed once more, this time nervously and then leaned to reach Raja’s lips.
They made out passionately  for what seemed an eternity, then gasping for air, Raja broke the kiss, caressing with her thumb Manila’s cheekbone. “It can’t be her”, she thought, even though her heart was madly speeding in her chest, “she should’ve recognized me by now… it’s not her.” A little part of Raja’s shaking faith was breaking, when the girl in her lap said. “Oh my god, I can’t see shit, but those idiots didn’t gave me time to put on my contacts.”
Raja froze, recognizing the voice of her dreams at all, and also realizing that she hasn’t been recognized because of a stupid technicality, meant she wasn’t able to properly see.  Manila pulled a pair of glasses out of her clutch, rising her head to finally look at Raja. “I hope you don’t mind my… OH MY GOD!”
Manila opened her eyes even wider, looking finally at every single detail of Raja’s features. “I… I can’t believe this, I’ve been flirting with my soulmate all night long and I didn’t figured out!”
“What?!” Raja said, still in disbelief, looking at Manila’s face, that was fastly going from amusement to hurt.
“I’ve been dreaming of your face for five years and that’s all you have to say?“ Raja’s mouth fell agape, that was exactly the same phrase she heard the first time. The girl looked at her, expecting for something to happen, strongly tempted to slap her face to make her talk, and cursing her eyes for the tears she felt coming.
“I… I um ahhh, I don’t know what to say, is just so unexpected”, the older girl said, feeling happy, mad and incredibly stupid at the same time. “You… can’t… oh my god, this was a huge mistake”
Manila covered her mouth, fighting tears already. She got off from Raja’s lap and starting to run by the edge of the pool, she needed to fly, she wouldn’t let her see crying, not when she clearly didn’t want her.
Confused, Raja looked at her, snapping back when she saw Manila almost sliding to the pool “Oh my god! you’re so easily distracted!”, she reaches for the beautiful girl in the yellow dress  just in time to fall with her into the water.
“Leave me alone!” Manila yelled, pushing Raja away.
Raja sighed, frustrated.“No… I’m not leaving you alone”, wrapping her easily with her long arms, she held her close. “It took nine years of my life getting to understand that I’ll find you, I just wasn’t expecting it was going to be here.”
“Then why the first coherent thing you blurt out after you find out i am your soulmate is to say this is a mistake?”, Manila clapped back, freeing her own frustration and obvious hurt.
“Because I’ve been with you for hours, and I found out that I really  like you, that I’m up to open up and there comes that you’re meant to be with me.” Raja’s voice half shy and half relieved. “Once you get your heart shattered by destiny, you never expect for it to actually mend its shit”.
Manila was about to retort when something sink in, “nine years?” Getting to know how much she have waited, left the girl speechless for a moment.
Raja nodded. “Nine fucking years where I’ve lost a boyfriend and I thought I was going nuts, because I didn’t find you.” She sighed deeply, finally saying those words out loud reducing her constant anger. “Nine fucking years to get to understand that I was denying myself.” Instinctively, Manila laid a hand on Raja’s chest, feeling her take a deep breathe. “And they were fucking worth it, because you are gorgeous and I’m happy to finally have you.”
The softness on Raja’s statement melted Manila’s heart, leaning the side her face to the other girl’s shoulder, whispering. “And I can’t believe that you actually exist, I can’t believe how good is having you here, all wet and mug smudged.” Raja held a laugh, that made Manila look back at her, lifting her face, the older one giving the other a soft peck on the lips.
“Now let’s get out of this pool cause I’m freezing”, Raja said, releasing her and swimming to the end of the pool, jumping out and taking her hand to pull her off the pool.
Manila wrapped herself around Raja, so… are we taking this from where we left it?”
A wolfish smile spread across Raja’s lips, “I’ll do that but not here… what do you think of a nice warm bathtub, a bottle of red wine and no wet clothing?”
“Sounds like a plan to me”, Manila winked at Raja, and they went to get their abandoned heels and clutches.
“Then come with me” Raja said,  stretching her hand to her, and holding the heels with the other, steadying her for a second and then running wildly to reach the elevator and leaving a wet trail behind them.
====
After a semi awkward elevator ride, they made it to the room, Manila taking off her wet clothes while Raja prepared the bath. Raja stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a white towel and holding one for Manila. The tall girl felt her mouth dry at the sight of Manila’s body, shamelessly on display, the other girl oblivious to her observer behind her back.
“Tub’s ready”, Raja said, approaching to Manila, who turned to face her, to reach her and undoing the knot of Raja’s towel, making her suppress a moan.
“What was that Raja?” Manila looked at her face, desire shining brightly on her eyes, “do you really want me?”
“I want you so bad, is driving me mad”, Raja admitted, sliding a hand on the side of her naked body.
“Lucky that I want you too… come.” Manila said taking  Raja’s hand in hers, and getting rid of the towel in the process. “You’re overdressed for the occasion” she whispered, delighted on discovering Raja’s body for the first time…
Raja pulled  her to the bathroom, pushing the door with her foot and leading Manila to the tub, soft warm steam flooding the room, and taking a sweet moment to  actually look at her naked silhouette and biting her lower lip at the mere idea of being able to touch her. She was the first to get in the tub, followed almost immediately by Manila, who delicately made herself comfortable in the space between her legs.
Leaning her back over Raja’s chest, Manila was the first reaching for the other one’s lips, getting heated within seconds, when Raja broke the kiss gasping for air. “Easy baby, there’s no rush, we have all the time in the world”, the older girl whispered, making the other shiver with her breathe spreading on the wet skin of  her neck.
“Where does this romantic freak comes from?”, Manila asked, sliding  one of her hands over the brown skin of her arm. “I thought you wanted me”, she teased once more, reaching to catch Raja’s lips again.
Smiling  to her lips, Raja answered, “comes from nine years of craving to know how you looked, or if you existed… now I happen to want to discover every-single-inch-of-you.”
Manila kissed her again, briefly this time, turning on the water to kneel in front of her. “Then do yourself a party Columbus.”
Raja laughed softly to her silliness, taking her sweet little time to tame Manila’s hair with one hand, starting to kiss each  single part of her face, while feeling other pair of hands roaming through her legs and dangerously reaching to her thighs. “You’re decided to make me surrender, aren’t you little butterfly?” The girl gave her a mischievous smile while nodding, just to point her affirmation with a kiss. Raja sighed deeply, just to say in a low tone “then I’ll teach you to behave.”
Manila laughed, approaching a little more to Raja, feeling her whole body to shiver with the slight brushing of their breasts. “What if you better show me how nine years of craving feel like.”
Raja smiled crookedly, pulling Manilla closer to her body. “Only good girls get what they want… and right now, I’m the nicest girl in the world”, she whispered, sliding one hand across the other girl’s back, caressing firmly the curve of her lower back and then  squeezing her butt cheek, delighted on the softness of Manila’s strangled moans.
“Nine years of craving felt like being incomplete” she whispered to her ear, nipping her earlobe. “Feels like you can’t breathe, forcefully gathering air into your lungs”, she continues, making some distance between their bodies, using one of her hands to tease one of Manila’s nipples. “Feels like food is flavorless, and your favorite jammies don’t warm you anymore at night”,  she approached her lips, biting lightly on Manila’s lower lip, while leaning her forehead to join her soulmate’s, barely touching the tip of their noses. “Nine years of craving felt like long days, endless nights and a cold that wraps you from inside out.”
Lost in the moment, Manila abandoned herself to her lover’s touch, while Raja’s voice was low, and seductive; distracting enough to make her lose track of time. “But ain’t gonna lie, it feels so fucking good at the end, cause i get to do this.” In one steady move, she quickly shoved two fingers inside Manila, the girl whimpering at the sudden stimulation.
“I… I’ll make it…” a moan dying strangled in Manila’s throat made Raja smile. “I’ll make it out for the lost time”, she managed to say, while feeling the slender fingers moving inside out of  her. “I’ll give you back the colors and flavors… and the warmth”, Manila kisses Raja hungrily, barely managing to slide her own hands to cup her soulmate’s breasts.
“Yeah.” Raja said in whisper taking her fingers out of Manila, the girl grunting for the sudden loss; wasting no time she stood up out of the bathtub taking Manila out with her. “Let’s take this to the bed, so i can really show you baby.”
Raja didn’t know what had gotten into her, but this girl, her soulmate had an effect on her that she couldn’t describe even with a dictionary in hand. She wanted to be so gentle with her, most of all, she wanted to take her time to discover her, in the other hand, she was starving with need to touch her, she wanted… no, she needed to claim her. The flood of emotions taking the best of her, making her smart mouth to run out of words for the first time in her life, letting her go on the new overwhelming sensations.
Manila snapped her back by sliding slowly her foot on the bare skin of Raja’s hip, a  precise movement that left her vibrating. “You like what you see?”, she asked, wrapping her leg around the other girl and making her fall over.
“More than you can imagine”, Raja whispered against her throat, just to kiss her fiercely one more time. Then she draw a line of sloppy kisses along her jawline and going down to her breasts, torso and finally getting to taste her.
====
They fell beside each other on the mattress for the third time that night, Raja barely breathing and unable to open her eyes after the most incredible orgasm. Manila turned to lean on her lover’s chest, who instinctively reached to caress her hair softly. “And this is how five years of longing and hoping feels like.”
“Five years?” Raja asked, suddenly opening her eyes to look at her, who pushed herself up in a hand to look her in the eyes.
“I was fifteen and wondering who I was, the first time I dreamt of you”, her voice sounded distant and kind of dreamy. “Imagine how it was, I fell asleep in my mom’s car a couple of hours before my birthday party”, Manila smiled, thinking of herself as the teenager she was back then, and enjoying the perks of being the woman she grew up to be. “It’ll be just a nap, I thought… and then, there were you, your skin tanned to perfection and the beautiful long black hair.”
Raja started drawing spyrals with her thumb on her lower back, making her giggle, and look at her with her eyes still full of amusement. “I guess I knew I loved you ever since, because your face had always filled me with joy… the only thing I couldn’t understand, was why you always seemed so sad.” Manila kissed her stomach. “Now I think I understand why, and I promise you to do my best to never see you like that again.”
====
Raja woke to the sight of a sleeping Manila, who was relaxed and all spreaded over the mattress, legs tangled and half wrapped in bed sheets. The soft lines of her face making her look younger than she was, and making Raja wonder how would they look together in a week, a month, a decade… and she decided she was up to find it out. She was about to caress the cheekbone of the gorgeous girl in her arms, when the door linked to Aja’s room burst open with a slam.
“Good Morning Butter…” Raja jump out the bed reaching with her long arms for Aja’s mouth to make her shut up, desisting of her intentions when her friend licked her hand.  “My Oh My! look who finally got laid!”
“Praise Allah! you’re disgusting” Raja hissed to the girl in front of her. “Could you please shut up bitch? you’ll wake the whole floor.” Taller than the other, she blocked her sight and Aja was stretching her neck trying to see the girl on the bed.
Standing on her toes, she was still trying to watch over her friend’s shoulder. “Who is she? I deserve to know bitch, I got the party last night!”
“For the last time, shut up! you’ll wake her up!” Raja hissed and Aja stood in front of her crossing her arms, arching a brow, quietly questioning. Raising her hands in surrender, she said. “It’s Manila…”
“Her soulmate”, a groggy voice completed from the bed, where modestly Manila was holding the bed sheet over her breasts.
“NO FUCKING WAY! YOU FOUND YOUR FUCKING SOULMATE AND DIDN’T EVEN SEND A MESSAGE?!” Aja yelled, not really thinking on what she was saying, but making Sasha open the door of the other side.
“Alright… you two are gonna stop yelling… and you” Sasha pointed to Aja, “you’re gonna leave them alone, this is nothing of your business… at least for now.”  Sasha dragged Aja out of Raja’s room, making sure to close both doors before they were surrounded by silence once again.
Realizing her own nakedness, Raja got blushed and Manila giggled at her reaction. “I have never imagined you were such a prude.” She closed the space between them, letting the sheet fall to the floor and sliding her arms around Raja’s waist. “You’re perfect baby, never feel ashamed of your body in front of me… I cherish you.” She kissed her collarbone and Raja put her arms over her lover’s shoulders.
“I could get used to wake to your face every morning… it’s the best sight ever.” She whispered, leaning to join her by the forehead. “I love you Nila… “
A soft smile spreaded over Manila’s lips while she said “I love you too Rajie”, just to kiss her one more time of the many that will follow onwards.
