edward elric is incredibly ticklish and alphonse’s hands tend to always be cold since he’s metal… just a thought…

(this is just a short thing because first fic for the fandom yknow how it is but i hope u enjoy it anyway!)

When they were younger, Al was always rather physical in how he expressed his affection. He was a big fan of hugs and would cling onto Ed a lot of the time, and when Ed wasn’t around, it was Mom or Winry. While Ed was never the most touchy person, he never complained about it. In fact, in the years since Al lost his body, he’s noticed that Ed seems to lean into any form of touch, even if it’s just Mustang’s hand on his shoulder or one of the other men on the team ruffling his hair (though he always complains about them ruining his braid). Being a suit of armour, it’s difficult for him to be as affectionate as he was, but he tries his best anyway for his brother.

“Your hands are cold!” Ed complains, shoving his hand away.

Al bites back a comment about how Ed was the one to put him in this body in the first place; he’s grateful that he’s even still here, honestly. “Warm them up, then!” he says instead, getting an idea.

Ed would argue with that, say that Al can’t feel anything so there’s no need for his hands to be warmed up. He doesn’t get a chance, though, because all that comes out is laughter. Al’s hands are on his sides, and he’s squirming half because it’s cold and half because it really tickles. He’s always been stupidly ticklish, a fact that he despises and that Al enjoys way too much. He wishes, not for the first time, that Al was back in his original body, but for now the only reason is so Ed can get his revenge.

“You bahastard!” he cries, but all he gets are mischievous giggles in response. Despite Al not being able to feel anything, including pain, the older brother instincts still refuse to let Ed try very hard to get him to stop in fear of hurting him.

That’s the only reason, really.
