[ID: two photos of dark green pigeons with red beaks and feet, and yellow legs. they both perch in trees. the first is the African green pigeon, with lighter green wings, dark purple and blue on its wings and neck. the second is the Pemba green pigeon]
slowly, more pigeons win and lose. bright feathers lie on the stage, small round eyes focus in on a target.
African green pigeon?? Pemba green pigeon?? which did you choose?

November 29, 2021 - African Green-Pigeon (Treron calvus)
Found in much of sub-Saharan Africa, these pigeons live in forests, savannas, scrublands, parks, and gardens. They forage in groups in fruiting trees, feeding mostly on figs and other fruits, as well as some seeds, and rarely, carrion. Breeding throughout the year, but particularly from August to January, females build platform nests in the forks of trees from twigs and leaves gathered by males and lay clutches of one or two eggs. Both parents incubate the eggs.
