I was up in Tremonton on a shoot recently and decided to use a roll of Portra 160 to try and document the town as I found interesting shapes, textures, compositions, and light. Here we see some silos right as the evening light was breaking through fog that lasted pretty much most of the day.

The claimant’s signature.
An acknowledgment or certificate as required by Title 57, Chapter 3.
For liens on owner-occupied residences, a statement on the steps the owner can take to remove the lien (Utah Code § 38-1a-502).
Recording: This notice must be recorded in the county where the property is located, and the county recorder will index it accordingly. The notice is considered effective from the time of recording, giving public notice of the lien.

In Utah, construction lien laws are primarily governed by Title 38, Chapter 1a of the Utah Code, which details the requirements and procedures for establishing and enforcing construction liens. Here is a comprehensive overview:
Preliminary Notice
Requirement: Any person furnishing labor, service, equipment, or materials for a construction project must file a preliminary notice with the State Construction Registry (SCR) within 20 days after starting work on the project. This notice is crucial as it preserves the right to later file a construction lien if payment issues arise (Utah Code § 38-1a-501).
Filing: The notice must be filed online at the SCR website. Failure to file this notice within the 20-day period may result in the loss of lien rights.
Notice of Construction Lien
Contents: The notice of construction lien must include:
The name of the reputed owner or, if unknown, the record owner.
The name of the person who employed the claimant.
The dates when the claimant first and last provided labor or materials.
A description of the property sufficient for identification.
The claimant’s name, address, and phone number.
The amount claimed.
The claimant’s signature.
An acknowledgment or certificate as required by Title 57, Chapter 3.
For liens on owner-occupied residences, a statement on the steps the owner can take to remove the lien (Utah Code § 38-1a-502).
Recording: This notice must be recorded in the county where the property is located, and the county recorder will index it accordingly. The notice is considered effective from the time of recording, giving public notice of the lien.
Service: Within 30 days after filing, the claimant must deliver or mail a copy of the notice to the reputed owner or record owner. Failure to do so can preclude the claimant from recovering costs and attorney fees in a lien enforcement action.
Filing Deadlines
Lien Filing: A lien must be filed within 180 days after the final completion of the original contract, the final inspection, or the issuance of a permanent certificate of occupancy. If a notice of completion is filed, the deadline is shortened to 90 days.
Lien Enforcement: To enforce the lien, a lawsuit must be filed within 180 days after the lien is recorded. This is very important.
Bonding and Waivers
Bonding: If a lien is contested, the property owner can post a bond to discharge the lien. The bond amount varies: 150% of the lien value if the claim is $25,000 or more, 175% if between $15,000 and $25,000, and 200% if less than $15,000.
Lien Waiver: Utah law provides for statutory lien waiver forms that can be used to waive lien rights under certain conditions.

"That all sounds really nice," she said when he described his favorite spots in the City, "I'd love to see these places." She couldn't imagine a sunset more beautiful than, the one she saw in Hood River, with the sky burning in shades of orange and red behind the mountain, but she was sure that the ones in New York had to be special in their own way. A different kind of beauty.
It was funny to think that if it wasn't for Theo running away from home, they would have never crossed paths. And yet, here they were, in the same car.
A little chuckle left her lips. Yes, it had to seem like an adventure for a boy from New York. "Going to a bridge in Harlem sounds more like an adventure to me."

"My dad knows a lot because my mom used to tell him everything about the stars. I was only 6 when she died, but my dad taught it all to me. I'll show you some constellations if you want. Tremonton's a real small town, we'll have a nice night sky there."
Theo had to think for a moment of what was his favourite place in the city, there were several he would retreat to at times but he supposed for someone new to the city the view from the High Bridge in Harlem or the station under City Hall were the best bet or well maybe just the pier in Upper West? It just depended on how tolerant Barbara was of heights or the dark. "I find it hard to choose, I guess it depends on the mood? There's a high bridge in Harlem that people seem to forget about where you can look down the Harlem river and walk through a park that's not as busy as Central." Maybe the pier was the best option, the more he thought about it the more he realised it was his favourite place. "Or there's a pier that reaches out into the Hudson and if you stand there at sunset, the whole city lights up in front of you, it all turns to gold... and at night it's really nice too."

He supposed he never would have been able to stay away from New York for long after all. He couldn't picture himself anywhere else other than in the glare of the city. Much less so when Barbara explained what it was she did when they went camping. Hunting?! People still did that? He managed a curious laugh at the revelation.
"It sounds like a bit of an adventure," but he drew himself back in when she mentioned her mother. "That's really cool she knew the stars. I don't know anything about them really. But you and your Dad must know a bunch?"
