Fuck it. Every Steve Harrington headcannon I have because I've been rotating that boy in my head like a pig on a stick Part 2 this is a little more in depth than the first one but only by a smug

- Epileptic, either since he was young or developed it over time due to all those concussions he keeps getting

- Favorite fruit is blackberries I have no reason

- Kinda sad but he never really had friends, yeah he hung out with Tommy and Carol but that was about it. Like after the fall out with them he was by himself, alone. I feel like if he was as popular as we think he is, he would have at least one other friend right?

- Does not have a filter at all. That one scene where he just casually says, "Oh yeah my parents are out of town because my mom doesn't trust him to not cheat on her any who!" and I feel like he just kinda does that

- Star Trek fan but he just does not comprehend that it's supposed to be nerdy (this is not my own I saw someone else headcannon this please tell me if you find them I can not)

- Absolutely sucked at ELA, could be cause of dyslexia or not whatever you want buttercup

- But on the topic of dyslexia, this headcannon is one of the main reasons why I love math nerd Stevie so much. Like, ELA test and History test are mostly long paragraphs that he needs more time to read through and his teachers don't care enough to give him extra time like he needs. But math tests tend to have a small paragraph that he can read faster or just focus on the numbers and finish on time, so he just got really good at math so he would have at least one class he passed

- Survives off of coffee, lord knows he needs it

- My most random headcannon is that since his parents were never really around or cared much for his safety, he used to hang out outside a lot and explore the wildlife around, got really into nature and animals, bought nature books etc. But his dad told him nature and animals were girly and forced him to stop even though he really loved it

- If he does ever go to college (which he doesn't have to, though if Robin went he would probably go with her), he would either get in education major and become a math teacher or some form of environmental degree

- His love language is quality time

- Among the three of them, Steve and Carol were the closest. Yes, Steve and Tommy met first, and yes they tend to call each other their best friends, but in actuality Carol and Steve were best friends. They have mean girl energy.

- He used to also play hockey when he was younger but stopped playing due to scheduling and shit. But he really liked it cause whenever he would practice there were these older figure skaters who would teach him figure skating (he kinda liked it more than hockey but he never told anyone)

- Speaking of scheduling, he is always tired due to his packed schedule. Since he was young, his dad forced him into a lot of sports and didn't really give him a break. Add that to his piano lessons, his jobs, studying that his dad forced him to do, friends, etc... he is just perpetually tired. And it fucked up his sleep schedule developing into insomnia as he got older

- Most of his and Eddie's dates are just them taking naps

- Once he meets Corroded Coffin they all become best friends. Like best fucking friends

Anyway I’ve decided that Steve plays piano and is secretly a huge Star Trek fan, to the point that he wanted to be an astronaut as a kid but couldn’t get the grades for it and gave up by high school

Okay i think Eddie should convince Steve to play a nice clean little oneshot with the party, and because it's just a oneshot he decides he can use the plot of the star trek episode "the devil in the dark". (Blob monster in mines) because 1) when asked the kids have said they've "seen the movies" but aren't as invested in it as star wars 2) it's quick to whip up and not a bad way to start a newbie (investigate these weird deaths! Oh no monster!) 3) no way would Steve know Star Trek aside from what the kids tell him so he doesn't even bother asking to make sure.

Number three is a mistake.

Because Steve's great aunt loved Trek and Steve loved his auntie, so he has watched every episode multiple times. He owns some of the novels. He's seen the movies on opening weekend. There is a box of zines from the sixties and seventies that his auntie passed down to him. Steve, by all accounts, is a Trekkie.

He just thinks it's old lady grandma stuff so doesn't really mention it except to Robin. He likes sci Fi, he's not into fantasy.

So once the session gets rolling an hour in Steve is Suspicious. He recognizes some stuff happening from his Auntie's Programs.

Eventually he decides to test the waters. He's pretty confident he knows what's going on. At some point Dustin is nagging his character and he snaps "dammit! I'm fighter, not a cleric!" And turns to look Eddie dead in the eye. (This episode is the first in which Bones' iconic line is used)

Eddie has realized that he's made a Mistake.

Steve just raises his eyebrows in challenge.

I’ve seen fics where Eddie sees Steve post-season 2, all sad and pathetic after his fall down the social ladder, and then Hellfire adopted him. They’re perfect. No notes. Ten of out ten. I will read every single one of them.

However.

It is very funny if Steve adopts the Hellfire Club as his new friend group. They have no choice in the matter.

The only good thing going on in his life right now is that Dustin has decided that he’s cool. Steve doesn’t want that to change so he’s going to have to learn a few things because he never knows what the hell Dustin is talking about.

So, “You guys know nerd shit, right?”

Hellfire blink at him.

“You do. Good,” Steve continues, pointing out the Starfleet ensigna on Grant’s jacket. He sits in Eddie’s seat like, “Have you heard of this board game called Demons and Dragons?”

They blink at him again and share looks with each other that say that this is a hell of a day for Eddie to be absent. Jeff is the only one brave enough to say, “It’s uh…it’s Dungeons and Dragons.”

“Oh,” Steve says, flipping his notebook open and writing that down. “Sweet. What else?”

Eddie comes back to school two days later still a little stuffy from his cold to find Steve “The Hair” Harrington in his seat, talking to his friends, making plans to watch Star Wars that weekend.

Star Trek is never mentioned in Stranger things so headcanon that Steve grew up watching it (he has a youngish great-aunt who took care of him when he was baby Steve), utterly convinced Kirk and Spock are married, also convinced it's old lady tv. She took him to Star Trek: The Motion Picture and like. Fifty percent of the audience was older ladies. She had zines and later gave them to him.

Dustin finds out Steve is what one could consider a Trekkie when Steve offers to take them to see Star Trek IV The Voyage Home in theatres, and he flips because, Steve, you like something nerdy!!

And Steve's like 'no?? I like an old lady tv show? Kirk takes his top off like every episode and it was on during the day for housewives. My auntie was really into it and I watched with her and she gave me her little star trek fanclub newsletters. Basically everyone working on those were women. Idk man, maybe you like something mundane.

He attempts to recruit help but everyone agrees it's very nerdy to have fanzines from the sixties and seventies of star trek and Steve is like whatever I like the romance!! To which everyone is also confused because romance is never really a big part of it?? Kirk is a ladies man, sure, but it's not super romantic? And now it's Steve's turn to be confused because 'Kirk and Spock are Vulcan married!! They got married when Spock had Pon Farr! They do the weird Vulcan hand kissing thing!! Obviously they are soulmates and obviously I would scour the galaxy for you, Robin, but I also very much do not want to make out with you which is what Kirk and Spock do when they touch hands!'

Everyone is like what the fuck are you talking about? Because Steve is a Spirk truther lmao.

Steve being a secret scifi fan, especially for Star Trek, is actually a huge headcanon for me so I absolutely love this idea. Like he’s not super knowledgeable, but he knows the basics and just knows he enjoys it. (Recall: he calls Ewoks “teddy bears” and uses lightsabers—incorrectly—in his handshake with Dustin, so he knows stuff but not everything.)

He always felt ashamed of it though because Tommy would make fun of him, but then he accidentally let slip something around Dustin, or maybe Dustin found the novelization of TMP in his stuff, and it helped bond them further. He enjoys the way being open about it with Dustin makes him feel so he’s trying to be more open about it all.

He also definitely wrote K/S fanfic, except it didn’t start out as K/S. It was just a little think piece he was working on, scribbling thoughts down, but the chemistry between the two characters was undeniable and somehow it ended up naturally becoming K/S without his original intention. He then becomes slightly obsessed with the idea of the ship.

It also makes him start to question his own sexuality.

When Steve starts DnD with Hellfire, he decides to test it out a little and has his character flirt with everyone. It makes Eddie’s crush on Steve even harder, flirting through Steve’s character and the NPCs Eddie controls. Eddie thinks it’s just a game, while Steve starts falling for the DM.

Eddie calls Steve pet names in a teasing sort of way, until one day Steve just rolls his eyes and calls him T’hy’la and Eddie sort of blue screens. (The term was first used in the TMP novelization in 1979.) Maybe Eddie even discovers Steve’s fanfiction, because Steve definitely wrote more K/S fanfic, this time deliberately. It’s not the best written, but the emotion between Kirk and Spock is palpable.

(And, just maybe, there might be a little bit of reference to his feelings for Eddie in there.)

Later, during Vecna, they finally confess their feelings for each other. One of their first dates after things settle is watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home together. (It came out November 1986.)

They walk out of the movies with their fingertips touching.
