Is there still a place for the traditional touring bike in this bikepacking world?
My Surly Long Haul Trucker at McClellan Viewpoint on Curly Creek Road in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, 14 July 2012. If the clouds weren’t there, it would be an awesome view of Mount St. Helens Stasia’s partner James just broke his Long Haul Trucker. He has used it as his daily bike since he got it in 2008, and toured across the county with it as well. The seat tube near the bottom bracket…

Ooooh! I would love a little fluffy something with my space husband Data!!
Uhhhh ummm maybe bedtime??? He doesn’t need to sleep but I do!!
💚💚💚💚
I love this idea! Yes!!! Finally, some data fics! I hope data is in character enough, I tried to make sure that i didn't write him using any contractions, since he usually doesn't if i recall correctly? It's been a bit since I last watched TNG, I need to rewatch it again soon.... anyway, I hope that you enjoy it!
Do you dream?
(Star Trek) Data x F!Reader.
Word Count: 520.
Contents: Fluff! Bedtime Snuggles and Cuddles!
You let out an exhausted huff as you laid down. It was a fairly usual day on the enterprise, but man, were you tired. Data stared at you silently for a few moments, contemplating his next words.
"....I am not sure as to why you needed me to be here?"
"Because you're my boyfriend, is it so strange to want to snuggle with you while I fall asleep?"
A look of brief contemplation crossed Data's face before he seemingly accepts your reasoning for desiring his comfort.
"I suppose that is a within reason excuse as to why you would, but I must ask, do you consider me to be a good lover?"
"Oh, um... yeah? Why wouldn't I? I wouldn't be with you if I didn't think you were great!"
"...I see, very well then, I am glad that you enjoy my company."
You couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the unique and particular way that Data spoke and phrased his overall sentences. You found it to be quite endearing. He carefully went about getting into your bed next to you, pulling the covers over the both of you despite the fact that he wouldn't be sleeping himself.
He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to rest against his chest. As you laid there, snuggling your face against the front of his uniform, a simple question popped into your head that left you curious.
"I've been wondering for a while now. Are you capable of dreaming?"
Data was quiet for a moment, giving your question a lot of thought and consideration before forming an answer to it.
"I am incapable of dreaming in the traditional sense, however i am able to review my memory banks whenever I put myself into a brief rest mode for diagnostics tests, so perhaps that could be considered a type of dreaming in itself?"
"Hmm.... that's actually really interesting."
After another moment of silence, he spoke up, inquiring about what you dream of.
"If you do not mind me asking, what do you dream of when you are asleep? Do you remember them, or are they more fleeting and forgettable?"
"Umm... let me think.... I guess most of them aren't really too memorable, but i do occasionally dream of you.... usually of us getting married.... to be entirely honest..."
He seemed a bit surprised at your answer. You often dreamed of marrying him? How intriguing. Data shifted his hold on you, moving one of his hands to rest on your cheek, resting there gently.
"....I do not understand why you would wish to marry me, i think it would objectively be better if you married someone capable of actually... feeling love and passion for you."
"Don't be ridiculous Data! You feel more than enough love and passion for me to be happy! It doesn't matter if you don't experience or feel emotions in the traditional way. I truly believe that you just... experience them in your own way, and that's perfectly fine and one of the reasons why I love you so much!"
"... I am... very content with the fact that you feel that way...:

Lost Stolen & Found
Cal Kestis x Reader
Summary: Cal finds something valuable that he thought he'd lost years ago.
Warnings/Tags: No warnings, SFW, fluff and humour, no use of Y/N, no pronouns used, during Jedi: Survivor, minor spoilers for Jedi: Survivor.
A.N.: My fourth entry for Cal Kestis Week 2024! It follows the Day 4 prompt 'Ponchos'. I know this is from one of the previous days and while I would love to tackle the current day's prompts, I don't have any ideas for them yet. I don't want to force myself to write just for the sake of writing uwu
Also, When I showed one of my friends a picture of Cal in the pink poncho, he said that the pink is a bit clashy with Cal's hair, and that is what lead to this story ;3 Gif by me!
Also on AO3!
Word Count: ~520
Pyloon’s Saloon was bustling with its usual crowd when You walked in, looking around for your beloved redhead. When You couldn’t find him, You walked over to the kitchen, spotting Greez behind the counter as he cooked something that smelled quite delicious.
The Latero glanced up as You approached, giving You a nod. “You seen Cal yet?” He asked while stirring a pot.
“I’m on my way to see him, actually. Why?” You asked, your voice filled with confusion.
Greez snorted, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Well, you’re in for a surprise,” he chuckled, sounding quite cryptic as he returned to his cooking.
Shrugging, You continued your trek downstairs towards your quarters. As the doors slid open, You stopped in your tracks, unable to suppress a laugh. There stood Cal, checking himself out in the mirror, wearing something so bright and pink that it clashed horribly with his red hair. BD-1 stood besides him, shaking his little head in playful disapproval.
“Cal… what are you wearing?” You exclaimed, walking up to him.
The redhead turned to You, his face full of excitement. “My love, you won’t believe it! I defeated Oggdo Bogdo and found my old poncho in his lair!” He spread his arms wide, making the dirty pink poncho flare out dramatically.
You lifted an eyebrow, surprise and a bit of worry crossing your face as You scolded him. “You went after Oggdo Bogdo? Cal, you always go out looking for trouble!”
He stepped closer, attempting to wrap You in a hug, but You backed away, your nose scrunching up. “Eww! Don’t touch me with that! Who knows how long that frog had been sitting on this poncho!”
Cal chuckled, looking down at the poncho. “Alright, fair point. But isn’t it great? I missed this old thing!”
“It’s… something,” You said diplomatically. “But the bright pink is a little clashy with your red hair.”
BD-1 emitted a series of beeps and nodded his head, clearly agreeing with You.
Cal grinned, his emerald orbs sparkling with amusement. “You too, Beedee? But hey, at least I can say I’m making bold fashion statements now!”
Later that evening, You decided to wash the poncho, knowing how important it was to Cal and that now he had it back, he would most likely want to wear it often. After a thorough wash, You decided to try on the poncho yourself. It was surprisingly comfortable, and You ended up wearing it to bed. At night, as You were settling in, Cal entered the quarters and did a double take.
“Wait a minute, is that my poncho?” He asked, a grin spreading across his face.
Before You could respond, the Jedi slipped under the covers and managed to squeeze himself inside the poncho alongside You, trapping You against his muscular chest.
“Cal!” You protested, giggling as you squirmed in your warm prison. Despite the poncho fitting you both very tightly, there was something cozy about it.
“See? It’s perfect for cuddling,” he said, his voice warm and happy. You snuggled closer, feeling safe and loved as You agreed that it indeed was good for cuddling.

______________________
You could feel the warmth of the covers and an arm wrapped comfortingly around you.
Snuggling into the warmth of the man beside you, you let out a content breath and squeezed your eyes tighter. Not wanting this feeling to end.
It was rare that the two of you got a lie in together on the ship. Usually your schedules wouldn’t entirely align and the two of you would usually be woken up by a blaring alarm.
But today? Today was a full day off for the two of you at the same time. You weren’t entirely sure which miracle had brought you this joint day off but you weren’t going to complain.
You felt the man move beside you as he snuggled in closer to you. For a brief moment you felt like you were about to let sleep take over once more but he nudged you gently with his head.
“Y/N.” he whispered so softly, mainly checking to see if you were anywhere near awake. Not wanting to wake you if you were asleep.
You moved your head very slightly in response and tried to pull your eyes open. He smiled at your response before moving to check the time. “It’s eleven am.”
This made your eyes open and you turned to face him fully “You’re kidding?”
He shook his head with a smile and propped himself up slightly on his arm to look at you better. “Nope. I’m surprised we slept that long.”
“We clearly needed it.” you smiled and rustled the covers. The man got comfy once more and you moved to lie on his chest. Wrapping his arm around you he drew patterns with his fingertips on your arm and placed a kiss to the top of your head.
“What's the plan for today?”
“Can we just hide in here?” you pleaded, not really wanting to face anyone on your day off. You loved them all, you really did, but you just wanted one day where you could hide and stay in your pyjamas.
He let out a small laugh “If that’s what you want then sure. I can cook us up something nice and we can just enjoy each other's company.”
You nodded against his chest “There’s nothing else I’d rather do.” the man hugged you to him and placed another kiss to your hair.
The two of you lay in silence again, listening to each other's breathing as he resumed running his fingertips along your arm.
The growling of your stomach had the man stop his movement “Let me make some pancakes.” he said, sitting up slowly as you did the same.
“You don’t have to we could just-”
He put his hand up. “I know but I’d rather do it by hand. My treat for the two of us.”
You smiled and watched as the man got out of bed. “As long as you let me help with something.”
“Fine, you can help.” he held his hand out towards you and you took it happily. Playfully pulling you towards him he placed a quick kiss to your lips with a smile.

Before the World Died
He could feel it’s pull no matter where he went, in Europe, in America, in Asia. Now In this thick forest, deep in the Utah forest he searches.
He walked slowly, trudging through the mud and underbrush under a dark sky, walking through a forest being lead by something, something in his old bones.
He’s been feeling it’s pull for awhile, could it be a god? Someone sending a signal only he can feel? No this is different. A draw that calls to his very being, his very strength and ability.
He draws his revolvers and checks them, both fully loaded, both being placed back in their holsters under his trench coat as he reach’s too his back and grabs his lever action shotgun, checking and holstering it like his revolvers.
Then he draws his two sword, both sharp and ready to spill blood. Both sharpened to cut flesh and bone.
He sighs and fixes his fedora, seeing a distant cabin…. He can smell magic, a Demon, a Angel an something else. He walks slowly, scooping the place out, he’s learned how to move quietly in any terrain over he 520 year long life, he peeks through a window.
He sees three figures, a hybrid, the Demon and a Angel. The hybrids a Cat mixed with dragon features. Good if it was a full dragon he’d have to kill it, and he’s to exhausted to kill another dragon.
He’s been walking for hours, trekking through this damn forest for too long, whoever built this place is going to get a firm talking too.
He simply watches them, seeing them talk and chat so happily, he wonders what they could have to do with what’s drawing him here, he’ll have to ask in the morning when their awake as they seem to be going off to bed.
He nods and watches them all leave the main room, finally being hit by hunger as he searches for some rations he should have….. unfortunately he ate the rest of it a couple hours ago.
“Great…” he sighs and looks inside again, he can see the kitchen.
“Well being getting buddy buddy soon anyway… they shouldn’t mind” He goes to the front door, reaching to open it and finding it look before holding a hand out and yoinking a key and unlocking the door before slowly slipping in.
“Roomy…”
He goes to the kitchen, it’s nearly empty, all but a single jar of olives.
“Perfect” He pops open the jar and steals a spoon and starts eating, he eats for quite awhile, having not eaten olives in so long.
After an hour of slowly eating he finishes the jar, sipping some olive juice before dumping the rest down the drain and puts the spoon into the sink and heads for the door.
“wonder what this place is gonna be like?” He leaves and heads for a sturdy tree and climbs and hides, before resting his head and waiting for tomorrow.
When tomorrow did come, his life was changed forever, he meet friends, made a family among the group, not by blood but by camaraderie….. they fought monsters, gods, multiversal beings together.
But in the end, all this family got in return from him?
Was a terrible end by his hand.
The world gave him so much.
And in return he ended it.
And now he walks alone, his dull brown eyes, hidden under their new blood red iris, his swords exchanged for a slab of blackened steal showered in the bloods of so many, his friends, his foes, even his own.
#stuff i came up with while on the road#original character#The Investigator#pre Dead Au#pre BK#I’ve been reminiscing in old rps#Oh look it’s Dc before she got her face caved in and her entire second family massacred.

Going on a family a road trip from Delhi to Hemkund Sahib would be both spiritual and scenic. The total Delhi to Hemkund sahib by Road distance is around 520 km and you drive by some key towns in Uttarakhand, such as Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Joshimath before reaching Govindghat. This is the last motorable point. From there, a 13 km trek or pony ride takes you to Ghangaria, followed by a 6 km steep trek to reach the revered Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, located at an altitude of 4,329 meters.
To travel conveniently with your family consider hiring a tempo traveller or an SUV from Delhi. This trip can be split into two days, stopping overnight in Rishikesh or Joshimath. Be Aware of Sar Pass Temperature Variations
The Sar Pass temperature can vary significantly depending on the season. Summer (May – June): 0°C to 22°C (Pleasant during the day, cold at night). Autumn (September – October): -5°C to 15°C (Colder, with chances of early snowfall).

Choose the Right Time – Sar Pass Trek Best Time
The Sar Pass Trek best time is from May to June and September to October. These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and safe trekking conditions. Avoid trekking during monsoon (July-August) due to heavy rains and slippery trails.
