On Wednesday 10th July 1633 King Charles I “Blessing of Burntisland” sank in the Forth.
Variously described as a ‘ferry’, 'bark’ or 'pinnace’, the Blessing sank while carrying (together with another vessel) part of the baggage train and a number of passengers from Burntisland to Leith. The identities of the recorded victims and the recorded existence of carts attached to their department within the Royal Household suggest that the cargo comprised primarily kitchen and dining equipment, and possibly the wardrobe, other sources say that it was carrying gold, jewellery and silver plate belonging to the King, and another that the value was close to £100,000 a sum possibly equivalent to one-sixth of the entire Scottish exchequer.
Whatever the cargo very little actual facts seem to be available the wreck was not discovered until 1999 by HMS Roebuck, and it is said that the spot the Navy marked was the very place pinpointed by dowser Jim Longton using his divining rod and pendulum.
In order to deter bounty hunters, the Blessing of Burntisland has had a Protection of Wrecks order placed on the site. The pic is from a 1730 map showing the the Firth of Forth.

How did Treasure Planet manage to come up with the greatest aesthetic in all human history? Victorian elegance plus space-age flair, with just enough dirt and grime and wear and tear to make it feel real? A combination of traditional and computer animation that perfectly embodies the movie's blend of old and futuristic? How does it get any better than that?

I said I was going to start posting the old tsp art I had piled up and here it is!
The first one is a redraw of that one scene from treasure planet that I made about 2 years ago now, making it one of the oldest of my collected drawings.

The Narrator design is outdated at this point. While I only made slight tweaks to his human form, it’s different enough to be worth pointing out. Same goes for his lovebug form. I cringe a little looking at it now but you might find some enjoyment in it.
As for something newer, here’s a sketch I made somewhere around a couple months to a year ago, there’s no color, but there’s a slight improvement to my drawing skills and the Narrator’s human form has reached its final design. Unfortunately you don’t get to see the colors I chose for him but you will at some point.

The ship dynamic image in the corner is originally by @sangled
There’s a lot of art I have to get through, but I plan to start posting one to two images ever so often and maybe the occasional larger art drop.

Y'all, I hate to say it, but no, Nandermo did not "go canon", in an "alternate universe" or through "implications" or otherwise. They were making fun of us. That was the point of all the little nudges and open questions that were quickly squashed. That was the point of the hypnosis ending. The point of that hypnosis was quite literally "Here, let's give the perfect fake wish-fulfillment ending to parts of our fanbase" (which is why there were three. They're fake. That's the point. The point is that they are supposed to be fantasies to appeal to people's hopes for the show).
Having Nandor and Guillermo as a classic sitcom couple set to a laugh track in a universe where none of the other characters exist was a jab at shippers who wanted Nandermo to be canon and cared more about that than the other characters or the premise of the show. They were making fun of "and they lived happily ever after" type fanwork. They were making fun of people who, in their eyes, ignored the irreverence and violence and black comedy of the show in order to make fluffy slash content. They were explicitly saying: "This is how we see you, and this is how we see what you want from this show, and we are telling you that it won't happen and we in fact have contempt for the very concept."
Why do you think they kept baiting the ship until the literal last lines of the show? They were making fun of us. They were saying "Ha! You still thought this would happen? After years of us saying it won't, to your face? Idiots." It's a comedy show, and they were making shippers the butt of the joke. They've been doing it for seasons now.
This is literally what Supernatural did back in the day. And nobody said that they made Destiel canon when they had an in-universe/alternate-universe stage play where the actors "explore Destiel". Fans back then recognized that it was a joke at their expense. That's what this is. Same as what happened in BBC Sherlock that one time, where in-universe conspiracy theorists said that Sherlock was in love with Moriarty (a ship the creators deliberately baited, mind you, same as they have here), specifically for the purpose of laughing at and making fun of that theory.
I'm so sorry, guys. I know you wanted to hope. I know you wanted to believe that the things the writers said at that con weren't true, but they were. I know because I wanted to hope too, even when I knew full well it wouldn't happen. They've been plain about how they feel about the ship for years. They saw it as a joke, one that drew in viewers, but was objectionable at its core. And they've followed through on that by baiting and jabbing up until the very end.

WILD IDEA
Imagine a Good Omens Pirate AU
BUT IN A TREASURE PLANET UNIVERSE (if you are not familiar with that movie it's pretty much sailing ships IN SPAAACE)
I had an old TP video game in the early 2000s that I really loved and today I found out it's on Steam! So I got it for a few bucks and started to gather some references for this AU idea:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it pretty much Pirate Crowley meets Royal Navy Aziraphale and I imagined that those could be their ships. Not sure about the story yet but I'd like to mix some plot points from the movie with the story missions of the game (that probably no one knows XDD)
If you are wondering the game is called Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon (for those who are curious and wanna get the game, don't expect too much. It's a super old game and 75% of the game is just waiting while your ship travels from A to B. But as kid I absolutely LOVED that game to bits and even now it holds so much nostalgia 🙈)

would you still hit if I had no backstory, my name wasn’t even my real name, I wasn’t even a cook, I didn’t want to be a pirate, I stole your gold then lying abt it then giving it up then telling you about it, “it must be awful being you”, I was combination of both abandonment and commitment issues, burned your fav boat, smashed a guy's head with my prosthetic leg, will probably thought you controlled the weather with your mind, using a gun point against you after you spent time teaching me how to sword fight AND named my parrot after you?

Treasure maps were listed on the random treasure tables in early D&D editions, from OD&D through all 3 basic sets, and AD&D 1e and 2e. In OD&D 1/4 of magic items would be maps instead, leading to new adventures. (Kenneth Rahman, from "Minarian Legends: The Bilge Rat and the mercenary fleets of Minaria" by Glenn Rahman, Dragon 48, April 1981)
